Recently renovated and it shows. The rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable. Our room had a decent size fridge and microwave which is very convenient if you are looking to save some $$$ on dining. The only thing preventing me from giving four stars is the fact that the rooms don't have coffee makers, so I have had to shell out about $5 a day for a coffee and a refill. One perk you might not find elsewhere, is that you can use their WiFi in your hotel room; even though it isn't advertised. (That is where I am Yelp'ing from now)

This is an average place to stay for a good price. It's in a good area, the rooms are clean and you will feel safe enough. We stayed with kids and there is a nice petting zoo next door which actually turned out to be a highlight for the trip (for the kids, at least). You will also get 10% off at the Pioneer Restaurant which is again - average - or maybe better than average if you stick with hamburgers and fries. The pool was nice and not crowded and the morning coffee on-site (at a cost) was good enough too.

This was a surprise find for us as we booked this via Travelocity. The room was small and quite squeezed (as compared to the other 4 places we went through) but VERY well decorated, furnished well. We love this place and will be back. There is free WiFi (no password needed). There is a microwave and a mini fridge so we can store cold drinks for the hikes in the Zion National Park. The room looks new and very well made. They have good cable TV (Sony Vega 27" CRT). The room is well lit and very good air conditional machine. Bed was big, high and perfectly firm, soft pillows and all. By the way, the front office has a small coffee shop too and an Internet cafe for those with no laptops. There is a nice big pool (12meter) the back with hot tub but no wifi signal back there. Negatives, water is too soft which means we waste much more water to get the soap off. We got the top floor luckily because the floor squeaks. Sorry for the folks downstairs. Although this place has a restaurant across the parking lot, breakfast is not included but they do give us a 10% discount coupon on any thing served there. We had dinner and it was ok. Big portions if you like that. Restaurant review will be a separate entry than this. We would go back there if we make another trip to Zion. We paid $110/night in late June 2010 By the way, this review is for the lodge, not the next door restaurant.

A surprisingly pleasant stay in this gateway town to Zion national park. Was expecting an overpriced motel given the touristy location but, in fact, this turned out to be my best experience with a MOtel ever. The recently renovated rooms are comfortably furnished with a modern rustic flare. Definitely clean. Has a small "kitchenette" area with microwave and coffeemaker. Free WiFi in room! Friendly helpful staff. $120/night in July for a motel is not cheap, but I did not feel ripped off given the nice accommodations. Would recommend and would stay again!

It is very close to Zion and my room has a fridge and microwave. It's clean, quiet and comfortable. Springdale had a lot to offer with great restaurants and shops. The towels are plush and my room has been recently remodeled. I'd stay here again. I'm paying $345 for two nights in a king bed room in August 2015 via Expedia and booked two days ago. Free wifi that works.

Why I'm giving a one star: First off we had made reservation four months ahead of time four nights here. Long story short we had to cancel because it would have cost two people 1k for the stay and we where no longer had our friends to split the cost. They have a 72 hour cancelation policy which we where aware of. Well within the 72 hour policy we tried multiple times to reach the front desk with no answer! Every time we called we got a message saying the mailbox if full and we where unable to leave a message! Finally three days prior to our check in time on our drive from California to Utah we got someone on the fun. The rude F*** told my girlfriend over the phone that basically we are stuck either pAying $224 for canceling or we could stay the pre arranged dates. When explaining the circumstances he basically said "maybe u should ask your friends to split the cost because it's not my problem." I finally reached Zion that night and slept in my truck to talk to them in person the next morning. The same guy (35-40 Indian descent) was outside texting on his phone. I unfortunately was pissed off at this point! No wonder they have a full voice mailbox this F***er is outside looks big at his phone instead of doing his job. He refused to accommodate us and told us we where going to be charged! This guy just lost a life long customer and gained a lifetime of my giving this place bad marks and making efforts to effort anyone about the poor service and gorging prices

Good service, good food, simple menu, quick service and filling! Worth the stop while you're in Zion.

I arrived at about 12PM and asked if I could check in, but the front desk girl told me it was way too early. I just thought it wouldn't hurt to try. They have a cozy lobby with a clean restroom that we were able to use before heading into Zion National Park. Later that evening when I returned around 7:30PM to check in, I was told that they had overbooked. They relocated me across the street to Zion Park Motel, already checked me in, and had my key ready for me. I was confused, but as long as what I needed was provided, it was fine with me. The room I got at the motel had 2 beds as I requested, and it also had a microwave and fridge as there would have been at Pioneer Lodge. I appreciate that they made things easier for me by checking me in and having the key ready, but I don't like that this could have been a sneaky tactic that they often use -- to overbook and relocate people by partnering up with other locations because it makes them more $. I'll never know.

3.5 stars. Very cute place to stay at. It feels as cabin inside with all the wooden wall and furniture. Clean places. It has a little kitchen table with coffee machine and a sink in the room we stayed. Staff are nice and you can buy souvenir at their lobby. It has a cafe at lobby too. We were there after 6pm and before 7am, it wasn't open when we were there. It's very close to the entrance to Zion. Only thing I really complain about is their wifi. It sucks a little and for the peak hour at night, you simply can't do anything. As a person who needs internet a lot, this definitely refrains me from staying there again.

  • Tiffany Y.

Simple little place with just the right things you need. Rooms feel cozy with that cabin feel, which is definitely a plus. If you come here in the winter time, cross your fingers that you get a room with the heater console because apparently, not all rooms are installed with a functioning air control unit. Overall, decent experience without any hassle. There is Wi-Fi but it definitely is slow and choppy at times. Also, if you are a light sleeper who needs the room to be pitch black, bring some eye covers/masks because that air unit shines a pretty bright blue light throughout the night.

Decent lodge for our trip to Zion and Bryce. They will accommodate your party for late arrivals, just call them ahead of time and they'll let you know their protocol for this. Our room came with a mini fridge and a microwave, but the microwave wasn't there when we arrived. Called reception and they had it replaced that same day. Wi-Fi here is terrible. Very slow most times (usually during peak hours) if it even works at all. Parking is difficult and there wasn't a parking spot for our car when we got there. We had to park on the street or elsewhere. TVs are not HD, and the one in our room was from the 80s with its big back. Our friends' room next door was flat screen, but not HD.

Extremely bad customer service experience. Manager even called me the F-word. In summary, the management/staff ruins this otherwise pleasant hotel: - Messed up our reservations repeatedly. - Gave us a room that was already occupied by someone. - Promised us free breakfast in compensation, but denied it the next morning. - Charged our card twice even though we had prepaid ! - When calling to complain, manager tells me "go F- yourself motherF- ! " Pros: - nice wooden decor in rooms / nice hotel look overall - good situation very close to Zion NP entrance If you choose to stay here: - Read RECENT reviews. There was a change in management in the last year. - Call in advance to confirm your reservation, specially if you booked through an online website such as Expedia, Easy Click, etc. - Know the WiFi will probably not work (check TripAdvisor reviews) - Check your bank statements after your stay !!!

Pretty bare bones, but it's in a great location & you probably can't beat the price. Location just right outside of Zion & between a bunch of restaurants & shops, this is a pretty good place to stay to wind down after a day of hiking & exploring. The room was pretty spacious & clean though the decor was kind of ancient. The beds were soft enough. There are refrigerators & microwaves here which are very nice to have, especially if you're on a road trip or storing groceries to pack your own lunch into the park. We did have an issue with the air conditioning unit, it was leaking the first night we got there. There was literally an empty trash can filled with water by morning. Not to mention the slow dripping noise all night, kind of like Chinese water torture. The hotel staff & front desk were nice about it & came to check on it while we were out that day. Other than that, it was a pleasant stay. Being next door to an ice cream shop was really nice on a hot day!

Enormous roach the size of my pinky finger in the room. I ran to bed and tried to just forget it and go to sleep, but my skin was crawling. Was it because of the roach? Because the bed had fleas? I couldn't tell you. I can just say that I slept about 2 fitful hours total. Nobody in the locked up lobby at night, just a phone number posted on the door of someone who answers the phone with "hello?" and not the name of the hotel - confusing. If you need timely help or need extra anything at night, you're screwed. I needed extra sheets and was told some different person - not the person I called - could provide them but I had to wait at least 30 minutes. The person who answered the phone wasn't knowledgeable about what items should have been provided in the room. Our room contained a broken air conditioner, and an in-window air conditioner running in the room, with the window wide open. When we closed the window, that clued us in that the AC was on, but didn't work. It got so muggy in the room, but we didn't want the window wide open. Fold-up beds were sitting in the corner, outside our room - OUTSIDE - for guests to use, that had live and dead insects on them. Folded up bedding was crammed between the folded up bed mattresses. All of the above adds up to this: the hotel is completely disgusting and a complete ripoff. Your other options may seem overpriced; forget it. Just pay more and go somewhere else. Or stay outside of this town somewhere that isn't going to shamelessly gouge you.

This would have been a four star review...but I've spent the entire night listening to drips in the ceiling. "You get what you pay for" is the best description of this place. We got an extremely good deal online and I think they placed us in this room as a result. It looks great... cozy, comfy bed and pillows, nice "pioneer " ambiance... but we noticed right away that the heat didn't work (space heater provided), and there was a hole in our ceiling lazily covered with boards. The place was fully booked, so what are you going to do? And honestly, neither of these things impacted us the first two nights. I don't think we had an upstairs neighbor, however, until last night. There is a constant drip coming from the direction of our hole with boards. It's the sort of noise that keeps homeowners up at night because you know it just can't be good. Otherwise, the location is great and we love Zion and Springdale. There is a brand new La Quinta next door, however, that my sister got a great deal on... And they provide free breakfast. Just saying...

First, it is great where the hotel is located. Beautiful mountains all around; it is breath taking. The lodge is cute and inside the room also pretty cute as well. Now it comes to the issue... just our luck that we get to stay in a room that is next to a birthday celebration room with a FULL family. Omg, they keep talking and being very loud in front of our door and window. I simply don't understand that. Why can't people ever be more considerate to others? I do not want to sound racist, be I can't stop to think that is a cultural thing that they simply don't care even they most likely the ones who own the hotel. But do you want people to return or do you ever think about bad reviews? Not sure I would suggest that to anyone for their stay in the future... that's the catch I guess that is cheap for a night!

The Pioneer Lodge room itself was nice. The bed was nice and the room also came with a little fridge. The location was great being in downtown Springdale and only about a mile from the park entrance. The pool and hot tub were just like any other, although at night there are no lights that shine into the pool area. The main reason I gave 3-stars was because of the service. The girl working the front desk was not very friendly and seemed more awkward than anything. I was filling up my camelback and when I was done I put it on the bed. For some reason, my camelback leaked all over the bed and soaked the blanket. When i went downstairs to ask if it was possible to maybe get a new one, the girl at the front desk said we don't have extra's (which is hard to believe they don't have any extra blankets, makes me question the cleanliness of them all)... that was all she said. Offering alternate options or even a simply apology would have been better. I didn't want that too upset me so I let it go. When i called to check out the next day, the same girl was not friendly on the phone. I like the lodge but was extremely displeased with the customer service of the front desk.

Didn't honor our hotels.com reservation. Tooled us around for two hours and left us without a place to stay for two nights. Horrible customer service. Simply not interested in helping us find another place to stay or working with us on a solution. Hotels.com was actually BETTER to work with over the phone. Won't be back even though I'm a previous customer.

If you happen to go when the other hotels in the area are expensive, this is going to be the best value. If I can't get something great for around $75 a night, then I'm going to get something very decent for around $50 and this is the place. I'm not going to pay more than $75 when this place is around and it works just fine. Plus, when I'm in Zion, I hardly want a reason to be inside. Zion is gorgeous! And the area this lodge is at is conveniently close and quaint to walk around to get food and such. If you know you're high-maintenence, then I do not recommend this place.

Excellent location right in the middle of everything. The views from the balcony are fantastic. The room was clean and cozy with everything we needed. Beds were comfortable with lots of pillows (much to my husband's delight). Parking was a bit tight, but not impossible. WiFi was very unreliable. We had a pleasant stay, no major complaints, and would stay again.

Very nice hotel, great location, Julia at check in was very nice! The only thing I would critique is that there is some junk here and there like equipment piled in the back, a few miscellaneous items/ machines that aren't being used stored along the corridor and some details in patchwork in the bathroom paint and shower seals but otherwise great!

The Pioneer Lodge is an old-fashioned two story motel with exterior walkways. The rooms have a rustic decor that's not particularly my style but everything was clean. The combination heater/AC unit required a Ph.D. to operate correctly. I thought the rate was high but it's in line with local competition.

Look cute from outside. Housekeeping did a sloppy job, room was not clean thoroughly daily. Heater doesn't work had to use space heater to heat the room instead. The only plus is the distance to the park. Restaurant was not even opened during our stay. Parking is very limited.

Close to Zion and in the center of Springdale, the motel has a perfect location for hikers and day trippers alike. We had booked our rooms online through a 3rd party site, 1 reservation for the first two days, the second reservation for the second two. Before we arrived, I called the desk to see if it was possible to stay in the same room for both reservations, to which the employee said would be fine. When we checked in, the front desk attendant said nothing about our second reservation until prompted and even then, left us in the dark as far as protocol for the transition to our second reservation. The day of our second reservation, the desk wasn't open early enough before we headed out to hike for the day and when we came back, our key cards were inactive. We had to go downstairs to "re-checkin" and fill out the identical paperwork that we did the first night. As a hotel front desk representative myself, this is ridiculous. The information is identical and the only difference that should have been made (at check in) should have been the length of the key cards life. The employees at the hotel were very short and not very pleasant, the restaurants hours were absurd (8 am-3 pm...really?) but the room was well kept and the view was incredible. For what we stayed for (hiking, all day every day) the stay was fine, considering a few hiccups. If you're looking for a similar amenities, this works just fine.

Best Reuben Sandwich EVER! We stopped in for a late lunch after hiking. We ordered sandwiches and burgers. Our kids are picky and they loved their food! Their freshly made onion rings were delicious! Waitress was sweet and kept our drinks full.

We stayed here 4 nights in Feb 2015. The room descriptions posted here by others are accurate so no need to go into details. We had no issues until our last night here (Friday night.) I generally stay away from places that allow dogs since we found some critters in a room last year. But we made an exception on this trip. On our last night here we were awakened very late by dogs barking outside our door. Rude dog owners don't mind checking in late and waking everyone else. We packed to leave a 6:00AM, as planned. It was dark and I carried luggage out and down the stairs and nearly stepped in a large pile of dog poop at the bottom of the stairs. Unbelievable. Of course the blame lies with rude, disrespectful dog owners. But the owner of the lodge needs to ultimately be responsible for the comfort of the guests. There's more to it than "bring your dog and pay an extra $25. This was just too much for me to take a chance on staying there again.

FLEA infested Lodging HELL ! Rooms have unpleasant odor and bathroom/shower had worse smell (coming from unclean shower curtain) ; overall mold & mildew smell everywhere. Bedding : Cheapest & Oldest bed Sheets, appeared as if they been using them for 20 years I've never seen anything that old and disgusting looking sheets & towels (all had yellowish colors and made all of us itch when contacted on skin) National park area hotel, so limited in every way BUT, Hotel should at least offer a room that does not smell and clean bed sheets. Their bed sheet looked like it never been replaced for decades... Property appered owned & managed by people with low standard, flea infested bedding, I have so many bites after sleeping in their beds, can't believe they were charging so much for this scary place... I did not get any sleep due to flea biting from their nasty beds... Definitely will Avoid at all cost !!

Awesome!!! My boyfriend booked the suite for about 90$ a night. We had microwave, mini fridge, hot tub with jets, king bed, heater, flat screen tv, lots of cabinets and drawers giving you tons of room to spread out. 5 minute drive to zion. The only bummer was that most of the surrounding businesses were closed during winter.

Awesome view and great place to stay. Our window was staring at zion when we woke up. The rooms reminded me of a little log cabin, splurge for the jacuzzi room, very comfortable place to stay at the end of a long day. Super helpful staff working as well.

The pioneer lodge is noisy, the carpets are old and nasty. The lights didn't work and the maintenance guy worked when he wanted to and it wasn't while we were there. The walls are paper thin and neighbors sounded like they were in our room. The pool gate is on a spring and slams loudly every time someone came or went. This hotel is awful! I give it half of one star. Also, the waitress at the restaurant was rude and the food was terrible. We would move but all the good places are booked.

Great for: Campers, one-night stays, groups, cheep sleep. I stayed here for one night on my trip to Zion before heading out into the backcountry. I booked on Hotwire (2 queen beds) which listed Pioneer Lodge as a 2.5 star hotel. First off, it's a motel. The website and many booking sites say "hotel" and "resort" while the sign out front clearly says motel. So just a forewarning. I had no problem with this though as I was looking for an inexpensive and comfortablel place to sleep before my multi-day camping trip. 1Star - Location You are right near the park entrance and within walking distance to shops. Great views once you step out of the parking lot. The price you are paying really is to be 2 minutes from Zion. 1Star - Comfortable Nice room and well equipped with shower, TV, some extra chairs, a fridge. Well decorated and felt comfortable. I had no problem connecting my laptop to wifi and getting some work done. 1Star - Price This was the best deal in the area. Other hotels were 30%-40% more and/or 10-20mins away from the park. Cons: -Not Clean One of the bed's sheets were dirty with green stains. It was just one person in the room so I slept in the other bed which seemed clean. There also was a hair in the shower (a long black hair...I have short brown hair). There was not smells or anything dramatic, but when I pay over $100/night, I expect clean sheets. -Noisy Being a motel, your door faces the parking lot most likely (half the rooms face the parking lot). The walls are not thick either and you can hear thumping and kids running around from room to room. It quiets down during the night hours but just a forewarning if you are a light sleeper. Conclusion: Ultimately the price is what drew me here. The photos look nice and the location is great. Many of the other hotels in the area are more expensive and are more resort/lodge type places. I'd stay here again, but only if it's the best deal.

Check your room before you pay! Very dirty, run down & smells. I was not looking for a 4 or 5 star hotel but it should still be clean. I could not stay & asked for a refund and the owner said no he would not give me any money back. Went across street to Best Western and got a clean room.

I really enjoyed my stay here. Amazing views of Zion at the hot tub! I found our room to be very clean and updated, but still retained the cozy cabin/rustic feel. Sure it looks like a motel but you're in Springdale to live the great outdoors anyway aren't you?

If there was a way to post a negative star, I would. It is old, unkept, holes in the floorboards. Yes there is coffee maker...it doesn't work. Yes there is a hair dryer....if doesn't work. Yes, there is a wall a/c unit..good luck with that.

I got a really good deal for 2 nights stay during Christmas. A newly remodeled room on the 2nd floor. A deep discount at the Pioneer Restaurant, sooo deep that it was cheaper to eat there than prepare meals in our in-room microwave and fridge combo. BTW they do have coffee makers. We did go to the market nearby called SOL that did have Whole Foods priced items. Overall, it was a clean and comfortable stay. I would definitely consider staying at the Pioneer again the next time I visit Zion. Of course there are much nicer places with prices to match. But if you're budget minded, I can't think of a better place to stay and eat next door.

Stayed here 2 nights March 23 & 24, 2014 while visiting Zion. Don't expect to pay the $50 Phillip N alluded to in his January review as $100 & up are the prevailing rates in spring & summer. You can't beat the location very close to the park entrance. We stayed in a 2 queen bed room on the 2nd floor (#204) The room is well equipped with refrigerator, microwave, safe & TV. The rooms are clean and typical motel style with comfy beds & interesting wood decor. Balcony outside where you can smoke if you desire offers bench & great view. Check in is supposedly 3pm but when we arrived after 3pm was told our room reserved through Orbitz would not be available for another half hour. Found interesting people wandering about dressed as what we thought were Amish, but turns out it just the lodge's apparent take on what "pioneer" housekeeping staff should like? A touch definitely not needed! Oh, Utah is one of those states where if you want to buy wine or beer to enjoy on your own that you may have forgotten to bring, while you are not dining in a restaurant where they offer, you have to purchase at state liquor store open noon to 9pm except Sunday at Switchback, less than a mile from Pioneer in the 1100 block of Zion Blvd. BYOB Currently the Pioneer Restaurant in the complex offers 50% off on food items for guests (not including 18% gratuity or alcoholic beverages) but still this is a good deal. As for room tip: definitely request 2nd floor with canyon view & you won't be disappointed.

Super cozy and clean place with all the amenities you can think of at a great price. Located right outside zion park. We shopped around and most cheap places in town only have simple motel 6 style rooms. We had a 3 bedroom suite for $120. Thats less than the price of 2 standard rooms. If we ever go back to zion, we'll definitely stay here again.

We stayed 4 nights and were rather impressed by the updates they've made. The parking lot is a nightmare. It didn't seem that anyone could park in the lines which made exiting a hazard. But it was a great stay with lots of places to eat in walking distance.

I only used the Internet Cafe portion of the hotel because I was camping near by, but since I was there doing work for a few days and for hours at a time I feel I have enough of an interaction to write a review. Both of the patrons/ baristas which helped me were incredibly nice and went to the back to get the freshest pastries twice. Also, they allowed me to use the internet for free with a purchase for each of the days I was there. All the folks who checked out of the hotel seemed very happy so I would consider using them for a stay if I were in the area again! Also, their bathroom has a beautiful design and is well kept.

On my road trip, I decided to forgo planning-for the most part-and just make decisions as they came. After hiking and exploring Zion National Park, I chose to lay my head here because the lady that owned the Mexican restaurant directly across the street said the people at Pioneer Lodge are reasonable. So I went across the street. And they were reasonable. I walked into the office without any expectations or plans; mostly, I was merely curious. The owner greeted me, I asked the price, bargained, got a good rate, and stayed. He allowed me to check out the rooms first and it impressed me enough to stick around. It has a cabin(y) feel and is actually pretty well furnished. Most importantly, it was CLEAN. Done deal. I will stay here again if I ever go back to Zion.

It is true was a lot are saying that the price is pretty good and it is, but my comfort trumps the amount you save. These rooms really need to be remodeled. They are too the point now where no amount of cleaning is going to make them feel clean. Our room smelled really musty. They are also very dark rooms and the walls are paper thin, so with kids this is not great. We ended up just leaving on our last night and heading to our next destination because I didn't want to sleep there another night. The staff was fine and the restaurant is still over priced for the quality of food they make, even with your guest discount. This could be a really great motel, but it is just in need of a remodel. I will say the pool was very clean and decent sized.

Staying here now. Haven't had Internet service since getting here. Got back from a long day at Zion hoping to take a nap but at 3:00 our room still hadn't been made up. The front desk gave me attitude. I ate breakfast at the restaurant. Although the server was extremely nice, the food arrived cold and the fruit was soggy. I will not be staying here again.

We stayed here during our April visit to Zion National Park based on reviews from tripadvisor.com Our room was clean, large and comfortable. We had a mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker. I loved the coat rack by the front door. There was also a closet and dresser. The bed was comfy and the towels were fluffy. This is not a fancy place with bathrobes, concierge, mints on the pillow and all those fancy features that I don't know about because we never stay at those places. It is conveniently located on the main drag in Springdale within walking distance of shops, restaurants and shuttle stops. Most of the motels are also located along this street too. Motel staff was friendly. There is also an Internet cafe with WIFI and a coffee shop. There is an outdoor pool and jacuzzi. I used the jacuzzi and loved it. The temperature was pleasantly hot and not scalding like some other motel jacuzzis I've been in. The WIFI in the room worked fine. No complaints. Would definitely stay here again ******************************************************* They also have a restaurant on the premises that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. We ate here once for dinner. We both had Gardenburgers with the soup/salad bar. The Gardenburgers were the jumbo size. I could only eat half of mine. The salad bar was decent--lettuce, mixed greens and enough veggies to satisfy both of us. The prices were affordable for our "burgers" and the salad bar was only an extra $3 and change.

Stayed here for four nights. This place is well tended and kept. Upon sign in you get a 10% off voucher for the attached restaurant. Hotel also has included wi-fi (though the connection reset a lot),and a pool in the back with a jacuzzi spa. Room includes a fridge and a microwave, as well as some basic cable. Not bad for a historic hotel. Literally a 5 min drive from Zion's visitor center.

RUN away from this place as fast as you can. I'm probably a small statistic but what happened to me can happen to you and the manager/owner won't really care. Do yourself a favor and avoid any hassles by staying somewhere else. We stayed here just this past Friday night and had to endure a long night of unpleasantness. The least the manager/owner could do is apologize but he insisted he didn't do anything so he doesn't have to apologize. What a mess that morning was. The manager was shouting at me and even shut the door in my face. Unbelievable! Booked through priceline at a discounted rate.. Never had any problems with priceline bidding before and this is the first hotel that actually treated me differently because I booked through priceline. The front desk was closed by the time we got in (we called in advance to say we're coming in late) and our keys were left under the mat. Well and good until we walked in to an oven. It was 96degrees in Utah even at midnight and our room was so warm. We tried to turn on the ac but it's not working. We really had no choice but to sleep through the night, good thing there was a slight breeze that would come through our window which allowed us to breathe normally at least. Called priceline customer service and was advised to call the next day when the front desk is open. Called back at 6am since the binder in the room said the front desk opens at 6 but of course it wasn't open. I was on the line with another priceline customer rep and she put me on hold while she contacted the hotel. I walked over to the front office and saw the manager pick up the phone and I knew he was talking to priceline. When the priceline customer rep finally got back to me, she said the hotel was only willing to refund me $38. I asked why and she didn't answer but simply said that was the only refund that was being offered by the hotel. Irate, I knocked on the door so I can talk to the manager face to face to ask me why he wouldn't give me a full refund for giving us a bad room (not the room advertised when we booked through priceline) and he said we are lucky we are even getting a place to sleep since there are so many more people who are paying more than us. He was shouting and shut the door on my face. Wth? So it all comes down to that? He wasn't happy that we got a discounted rate so he put us in a non-functioning room. I finally got my refund from priceline, not from the hotel but the damage has already been done. During checkout, I gave the keys to the manager and I told him he will be getting a very bad review. He didn't seem fazed and acted like nothing was wrong. He never apologized. He said that with the discounted rate that we paid, we were able to take a shower had beds, etc as if we owed him a favor!! I really could not believe it. I asked if he knew the ac was broken and he admitted it but said he had no choice but to give me a bad room rather than lose business. Well if he continues to do this sort of antic, he will lose his business. Please, stay somewhere else. Room Tip: Room 216 does not have AC!

We stayed here for 2 nights during our visit to Zion National Park in December 2013. Room was clean and spacious. It's very close to the park entrance. Service was fine.

Got there late, but still enough time for dinner. Both of us ordered steaks, medium rare. They came out close to well done. We sent them back and to their credit, gave us a whole new meal and a decent discount. The second set of plates had better veggies, too. All in all, not bad and they did make amends for a somewhat rocky start. Waitress was quite pleasant and apologetic for the mixup.

Err, I thought about giving four stars. The positives: Clean rooms and comfortable beds; very friendly staff, they brought us coffee makers even though they aren't in the rooms. The negatives: Rooms are really small, the bathroom is probably 6 x 8. The biggest oops was I almost didn't get to stay here. I called in April for a reservation for Sept over the phone (no internet reservations apparently) with Kathy. When I called a week before my trip to confirm, Kathy didn't work there anymore and no record of my reservation. Luckily, Jordan was able to get me my rooms for 2 of the 3 nights (we went to Cable Mountain for the third). While they did apologize and give me a discount, they chalked it up to having changed reservation systems two times since April and "having no control over the process." If it weren't for that mixup, Id give a higher rating.

Staff is great! Rooms are great and comfortable. Truth is you don't come to Springdale to sleep so you will have the necessary amenities that will please anyone. Wi-fi works good. There is a restaurant a couple steps away from the lodge that opens early and closes late for convenience. I would truly recommend staying here because it is great service at a great price!

For 3 adults the room was very cramped. Compared to other hotels we stayed at this trip I was disappointed. No coffee maker is provided - we assume because they want to sell you coffee from their coffee bar in the lobby. Sound proofing between rooms is non-existent and we now know our neighbours travel plans! Location is great though - the views from the large swimming pool are great but marred somewhat by a building site currently adjoining. We tried the Pioneer restaurant next door and, again, found it just a bit disappointing. As a base to explore in Zion for a night or two it does, but I'd be tempted to look for something better next time.
