The Hole Menu

Did the name 'the hole' originate from the exterior appearance of this place? That would make sense. I am SOOO glad that didn't let that deter me, though! It's actually been purchased by the Madbrook donut franchise. That means that the donuts are in the shape of a triangle, which is unique. Down to brass tacks... The donuts were wonderful! They weren't dry, at all. Moist, flavorful, and heavenly. I ordered 3 donuts, and 1 glazed croissant. My total was $4. The glazed croissant was one-of-a-kind! Completely delicious. I can hardly wait to take my husband back, to try one!

Ordered a coke got diet. Ordered turkey avocado with bacon on four sandwiches. Didn't get any bacon. What happened to this place it used to be to die for. Not so much now. To bad use to love this place.

It had been a while since I'd had a yummy sandwich from The Hole, drove in and discovered that it is now owned by Madbrook Donuts, and I'm not that impressed. When it was The Hole, the sandwiches were a nice size, decent price, and you could count on the menu. These days, the menu has tape and notes all over it, one out right says that most of the menu is wrong, and then there are more notes on the window where you order. I figured I could overlook all of this since my lunch would be delicious. I was a little wrong. The flavor was great, but the value was poor. I ordered a 6" sandwich and it was on a roll the size of a hotdog bun. For $6, I got a snack. I guess if I want a great, substantial sandwich, I'll have to go out to Philly Subs in Clearfield.

I wish I could give this place a better rating. After my past two experiences here, I won't be returning. I have given the Roy location (formerly The Hole) The posted hours are not correct. The staff is very rude and immature. Yesterday I went in for a sandwich, 30 minutes before closing time. They made a big deal when I noted that it wasn't closing time and I insisted they honor my request. The girl in the back threw a big fit because the girl in front said they'd do it. Today I went in for coffee and they said they had run out of what I wanted. What kind of coffee shop runs out of their most popular kind, on a Saturday morning? Poor management and poor staff... not a great combination at all. Save yourself a huge disappointment and go up the street to Jessie Jeans Coffee Beans!

Not impressed! Donuts are one of my favorite guilty pleasures but Madbrook didn't deliver. I've given them 4 tries, on my way to drop off my kids at school, and each time they didn't have the plain glazed doughnut holes I was hoping for. In fact, they've never had any. Their doughnuts are baked across town and brought over daily. Even at request the main shop will not stick more. Instead we just purchased their doughnuts. I'm guessing their gimmick is a triangle doughnut. No need to fix a wheel that isn't broken. The doughnuts were ok but nothing special. Not to mention the price. Some of the best bakeries/doughnut shops I've ever been to seem cheap in comparison, but I guess they can be when people stand in lines for amazing treats. If you want an amazing doughnut, try Shipley's (Mostly in Texas), or Tato Nuts in Ocean Springs, MS. Go early & expect a long line though. Yes, they are that good! Unfortunately, I haven't found a good doughnut spot in UT. The search continues. Flavor - 3 stars Price - 2 stars Hospitality - 1 star

Yea! I found the donut spot in Ogden. MMMMmmmm, cake donuts! The chocolate and blueberry frosted donuts were my favorites. The mocha was pretty good too.

The glazed croissant deserves five stars. But the nearly $4 price tag for two donuts definitely doesn't.

Krispy Kreme, who???? I have been going to this little gem since it's inception (thankfully, it doesn't show!!!). Such a local treat, and definitely a favorite. It's unfortunate that none of the additional locations (Morgan, Logan, Centerville, Brigham City - yep, I've been to them all!!!) were able to make it. A quick jaunt off the freeway, with a drive through window, no need to burn calories. My favorites are the frosted blueberry cake donut and the crumb donuts - once you see these monsters, huge! I'd like to pretend one is enough. Oh, and the coffee (caramel breve with an extra shot of espresso!) and sandwich options are also very good, if you're into that sort of thing, you know "real food".
