Do not buy a burger here! You will be disappointed, as I was with my Kahuna Burger today. Call it mystery meat or steamed burger patties, something was wrong about it. Probably because it's right next door to Mooyah Burger, which are good. Meanwhile the rice bowls at Rumbi are the best around, like their grilled chicken and steamed vegetables over rice, awesome! My bad for trying something else on the menu. Don't do it!

Never heard of this place, but checked it out since rice bowls seemed like a good alternative to a burger for lunch. Had brown rice and grilled chicken....they threw in some vegetables that I did not want, especially since I cannot eat broccoli. You can also add teriyaki sauce or peanut sauce, but I chose none.

Rumbi Island Grill is a really great place to go out to eat! My favorite thing to get at Rumbi is the rice bowl. They allow you to choose the size (half or full), meat, flavor, and type of rice that it contains. I always get the full size, eat until I'm full, and then save the rest for another meal. That brings the overall price for your meal down because you're creating at least two meals out of one. The rice bowls are not the only option available, but they are definitely my favorite and I would recommend you trying them out. They have daily specials (Monday-Friday) which they have displayed out on a sign in the front of the store. They have a variety of additional sauces that you can add to your meal located near the beverages along with silverware, chopsticks, and boxes to take home leftover food. The employees are great and I have received speedy service every time I have visited. They clean up after you which is nice, although it makes me feel rather lazy. They also offer a couple of tables outside the front of the store if you wish to eat outside on a nice day. I hope you enjoy Rumbi Island Grill like I do!

This is a three because there isn't other places around like it, but it is nothing especially great. I ordered the chicken rice bowl and it was definitely better than Hogi Yogi/Teryiaki stix... do those places even exist anymore? The last time i went was like 2008... did you enjoy that stroll down memory lane? The meat is tender... not sure if it is fresh, but that is good enough for me. I ordered the spicy teriyaki and that was pretty yummy. It cost around 9 dollars for a full... The Verdict: This is one of those places where the price you pay isn't worth it, might as well save your money and go elsewhere. However, this is a wonderful place to go and try out if you like trying new places.

Man, if this place had more reasonable prices, I'd be there all the time. To be fair, I haven't tried a lot on their menu, but what I have had has been great. I'm partial to the pork plate with rumbi (coconut) rice. They love to skimp on the yummy mac salad which is upsetting, but it all tastes great. I'm also a fan of the pineapple upside-down cake. I made the mistake of asking how they made it and finding out it was frozen, so it's not really worth the money...but it is delicious. Finally, the cultural ambiguity is amusing. They're not sure if their island is in Polynesia or the Caribbean. Oh well. Good options from both. Seriously, though. lower your prices.

Finally! A Rumbi within reasonable distance from my office! I tried the Kalua pork with veggies over noodles. It was great except for the noodles. I will stick with my brown rice option for the bowls henceforth. My true love at Rumbi is the sweet potato fries. They are really good, and I'm a picky-ass when it comes to the SPF. Get 'em. I can rarely resist the salads. The Aloha Mango Chicken is a particular favorite. They're all good, and pretty loaded. No skimpy salads here. Service was great - you can tell the staff is new, because they're still excited about helping you. Refreshing. If they keep this up, they'll be the most popular joint on the row. Me - I'll be here a lot.

I love Rumbi. I love the food! We ate here on a Friday evening. Granted it's close to BYU and anything close to a University on a Friday is bound to be hectic. However, that being said, if you know that, you schedule enough staff to meet the demands. This store was so slow! They had one register open and the line was to the door! They had one runner taking food into the dining room and once in a while he'd try to bus a table. I never saw anyone really cleaning the tables. The couple ahead of us ordered take out. They finally got their food just as I was finishing eating. I finally got my dinner plate when everyone else at my table was finishing their dinner! The server kept apologizing for the late food saying they had a new cook. Really? You sceduled a new cook on a Friday night in Provo? Where was the Manager during this fiasco? If they were there you wouldn't have known it.

terrible service. only reason it isn't a 1 star is because the food is delicious. the older manager guy or whatever he is extremely rude. my 5 co-workers and I all ordered and ended up waiting at least 30 minutes to get our food slowly one by one, and the person who ordered first got his food last. when we asked about where his food was, the manager snapped back "it was rang in wrong" as he walked away and acted like it was our fault. when our food was brought out (mind you we had been given numbers to our orders) the runner would just ask who had that item but had no idea what it was or who it went to. then what was the point of giving us a number? the entire staff seemed to be untrained and unprofessional, especially the 'manager' who had no sympathy or understanding of customer service. i work in the food & hospitality industry, i understand we all get busy and frustrated but the guest should be the number one concern no matter what. you want customers to return, not to leave with a bad taste in their mouth.
