I don't think it's fair the reviews that were given to this restaurant. I was shocked when I saw the 3 star rating after eating there! It was an adorable little Chinese family restaurant, the food came out hot and quick, there were big portions, good flavor, and overall I came away very satisfied! I would definitely return especially because I want to try the secret Chinese menu. Go support this great little Chinese restaurant!

I really wish I could say the food here has improved over the past several years. I had heard from several people that it had. It used to be great, but it is no longer. I noticed no improvement in the quality of the food itself. The people here are very nice and accommodating, and will do pretty much anything you want. But it just doesn't make up for the food's lack of flavor and quality. We've given it a few chances, trying many menu items. The Hot and Sour Soup is the most disappointing to me. It has every element of great H&SS except the sour. It's so blatantly off-kilter that I didn't even finish it, nor order it again. The fried rices are all just okay. The ham version is probably the most acceptable. The others are a bit lacking in flavor and ingredients. Or, maybe I was most disappointed in the Tiny Spicy Chicken. Every Yelp review I read raved about this entree. I ordered it spicy, extra spicy. It came doughy, flavorless, with as little spice as chicken inside. So sad. The sauce seemed like it had potential, but it just couldn't make up for the nastiness of the rest of it. The Pork with Garlic Sauce included veggies that I believe I could identify as different from each other, but they were all the same translucent color, and completely absent of flavor. The pork "strips" were so indiscernable, they should include the word "tiny" in the description of this dish as well. I also ordered this extra spicy. I would rate it a zero on the spice scale. Then, there was the Cream Cheese Wontons. If I could rename them, it would be Sweet Grease Wontons. I'll leave it at that. Our follow-up visit garnered us a bag filled with Orange Chicken (ordered extra EXTRA spicy) and Shrimp Lo Mein. The chicken was anything but spicy AGAIN, but otherwise okay. Not the best of this type of dish, but not horrible. The Lo Mein was completely flavorless, with its 4 1/2 pieces of shrimp, and almost nothing else. The good news is we never spent a ton of money at Chinatown.

My coworkers and I order from this restaurant frequently and we all really enjoy the food. It's not amazing or mind blowing, but it is satisfying and not overly greasy or gross. I would MUCH rather eat here than at any Chinese restaurant of this caliber, or even Panda Express. Their delivery service is fast and they are easy, and nice. Their food is super cheap, and their portion sizes are huge. If you're looking for cheap, hits-the-spot, GIANT chinese food, this is the place to come. Don't expect to have a classically trained chef preparing your food and serving it to you on a silver platter with a glass of champagne. This isn't that kind of place and honestly you need to lower your expectations for cheap Chinese food in general if that's what you expect. I have never been inside their restaurant so I can't speak of how the interior looks, but they produce tasty food that isn't swimming in grease or dry as a bone. I will continue to order from them due to their quick delivery and their delicious noodles.

Some of The best chinese food I've ever had. Very reasonable prices. The service is wonderful. We had our food ready in 5 minutes. Hot and fresh

Pretty much the worst Chinese food ever! I thought I would give it a chance, despite the bad reviews, because Saigon Cafe received low marks too and they are yummy. Nope, the reviews were correct. Everything was dry and pretty much flavorless. Saigon Cafe is much better and they deliver too.

My wife and I have been curious about this place ever since we moved so we decided to try it out one day because I love Chinese food. We went around 4 p.m. and there was no one else in the restaurant. We were seated quickly, got drinks in a flash and was able to order very fats. We got the $19 China Combo dinner for two. We were served surprisingly fast. The dinner included 2 small egg rolls and 2 fried jumbo shrimp with a sweet and sour dipping sauce. Also, we each got a bowl of egg drop soup which was WAY too hot for consumption. Even when we were finished, they were still piping hot. Then for the entree, we had ham fried rice, orange chicken and broccoli beef. All were okay but I have had better orange chicken. All of the food was just a little bland and needed some kind of spice to liven it up. When we were finished, the hostesses were busy talking and we just wanted to get out of there. We asked for our check, paid and left a good tip becasue it looks like they are struggling. Ambiance 2/5: It looked a little disjointed and there was pop music over the radio. Would have like something else. Also, the dining room was a little stuffy. Cleanliness 2/5: The dining room was not bad but the restrooms were small, trashy and not upkeep-ed. There was a fly that bugged us all dinner. Food 3/5: Not too bad but I have had better. Value 2/5: Not good enough for $10 a plate. Service 3/5: Very fast service, but maybe that was just because we were their only customers at the time. Also, it was not very professional to see all of their employees laying around while we were eating. But the waitresses were friendly and conversational. Overall 2/5 stars: This place needs some work. If they were to clean and fix up a bit, paint the outside of the store and maybe get a fish tank with some fisheys in it, this place would be more popular. I will return someday, but it is not anything to write home about.

Oh hellllllllllllllllllll to the no. Bad Chinese? What is worse than that? Tell me! No, I'll tell you. Chinatown's bad Chinese. That's what. The somewhat positive reviews were painfully misleading. Sometimes you're just in the mood for Chinese food, and you're already starting out that prospect with really low expectations. It's all about the same anywhere you go...right? Firstly, we live *maybe* 5 minutes from this restaurant and the delivery took over an hour. Not cool, guys. The food was horrible on top of that, so I was extra sad/mad. We just got basic items like fried rice and some kind of spicy chicken so I wasn't gettin' crazy or anything. It was honestly terrible. Inedible, I daresay. I shall spare you the details because I'm sick right now and if I think about those details I will be more sick. Someone reliable please tell me if there's a good place for bad Chinese. I haven't found one yet.

First time customer: ordered take out on their online site, got home and was so excited to try their food! Order was incorrect. The lo mien was tasteless, the hot and sour soup horrible, the pork fried rice was dry and bland, the Kon pow chicken was overly sauced and watered down. On a positive note the fried dumplings and egg rolls became our dinner since the rest was unbearable to eat.

A one star review seems a little too high for what I'd give. If there were a negative rating it'd be pretty far left on that scale. I'd imagine that you're wondering what could make a restaurant so bad. Was it the service? Was it the food? Was it the cleanliness? That's just the tip of the iceberg. The food comes out way to quick to be fresh. The restaurant is very dirty. Walking to the men's room, you pass through the kitchen and that made my stomach turn. It is so disgusting. The food had hair in it and plastic. They offered to take half off just the dish itself. Not too concerned. I don't know how the health inspector has not shut this place down. Mind boggling. The family that runs the restaurant is very nice, but that doesn't counter the negative aspect of the experience.

I wish it allowed me to rate this awful restaurant a 0. It was the worst food I have ever attempted to eat in my life. I was starving and I couldn't eat it. The menu pictures are nothing like the meal received. I called to complain about it being cold, bad smell, and the noodles tasted like paste. There was more breading then chicken on the General Tao's chicken and no flavor. GROSS! The worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life. NEVER EAT HERE, IT IS A BIG WASTE OF MONEY, TIME, AND YOU WILL GET SICK

This place is overpriced, gives meager portions, and just doesn't taste that great. You don't need to try this place out. Take my word for it.

Since I have moved from Canada, I have been trying to find a REAL chinese food place. I swear Las Vegas is lacking in these, but of all places, I find one in Provo, on a Saturday night at 930 pm on the way home from a BYU Basketball game... SO, my first question upon pulling up to this restaurant was "are we safe here?" The restaurant looks kind of old/scary from the outside - on the corner, older buildings, not a lot of parking, and still has Christmas decor on the windows in February. BUT we went inside to get a late take-out dinner. We ordered House lo-mein and General Tso's chicken. YUMMY!! Lots of food, very tasty, big pieces of chicken, delicious sauces, and leftovers for today :) In addition, it was actually REAL chinese food (I am sorry but China-go-go or PF Changs are NOT real chinese food... although PF Changs is quite good). The restaurant itself is old/seems like it could use a BIG facelift inside. I don't know if I would want to eat THERE, but taking it to go seemed to make it all better in my mind. The prices were good, and the food was ready quickly! Made for a perfect late night take out spot :)

So much not good... Tastes like the Chinese foods you buy in a frozen bag and heat up. They gave me my food in about two minutes... There's no way you can cook what I ordered in two minutes. I'm probably gonna get diarrhea.

Food is delicious. The workers are kind and accommodating to diet as much as possible. I am gluten-free and am able to eat good regular Chinese food when i eat here. It seems small and unpopulated, but don't take that as a sign of their quality.

I gave two stars only because delivery was fast and the girl that delivered was nice. We ordered orange chicken and chicken chow fun. We couldn't take but two bites and we aren't that picky. Terrible

I have been to this place twice. The first time, I loved it. The food was great and the size of the plates were large enough that you can order one thing and share it with someone else. The service was good but on our second time the service was aweful! The food was still good but the service was just bad. It looked like its a family run place and the first time we went their daughter took our order and she was super friendly. The second time i guess it was the mother and man was she rude. Its like she didn't even care that we were there. She never smiled once and just looked pretty angry. The husband showed up once in awhile to check up on things and he too didnt seem all that friendly. I recommend the food but was very un-happy with the service. We haven't gone back since.

I have gone here for years for their $5-$6 lunch specials which include soup, eggroll/wanton, rice, and your main dish. The hot and sour soup is great. They also take special requests for their lunch specials. Try the eggplant in garlic sauce, the tofu in garlic sauce, or the schezwan string beans (with chicken if you eat meat). They also have a very good beef noodle soup with homemade noodles and fresh cilantro. For those who want authentic Chinese, ask for their special Chinese menu.

Always get our delivery and takeout from here! Insanely fast delivery and good prices. The egg fu yung (sp?) is AMAZING!! I always get it. My kids love the lo mein and deep fried chicken dishes. My husband always gets shrimp in lobster sauce and shrimp fried rice. I highly recommend this place!

I love this place! We've been coming here for years with our whole family--toddlers to teenagers. You can't beat the prices and the large portions. Is it the best chinese food you'll ever have? No, but for the price it is just so darn tasty. My kids must have the wontons ($3 for 10!), the egg drop soup, although I prefer the hot and sour, and the orange beef. It's family run and that's good and bad--they have a corner for their kids toys--a mini day care if you will. And some of the staff, not the owners, look sloppy in their thin stained t-shirts. I really don't get why the owners don't set some kind of minimum dress code! But we go for the food, not the crazy sun-bleached booths or the annoying TV which always has on soccer.

I was charged more money than I was authorizing them to charge my card. The delivery driver added more money to the tip than what i wrote in. Horrible, shady practices. I will never ever ever order from these people again! Make sure that you check your credit card balance to make sure that they didn't overcharge you for anything.

I loved this spot when I lived in Provo. It's been around forever and was recommended to me by a local roommate of mine. I loved its dingy authenticity and the fact that our "waiter" appeared to be no more than 12 years old. (That's cool - atta way to keep it in the family.) Great Chinese food, huge portions. If you're looking for something other than the cookie cutter PF Chang experience in Provo, I would definitely recommend Chinatown.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
