Stopped here on our way through town just a little before closing time. Good beer (Apricot Wheat) that was light and refreshing, and a tasty burger (Jalapeno Burger) that I really enjoyed . Fries weren't that exciting, but would just get a different side next time. Would definitely stop here again.

(update) Sad to say, on our return visit, this was everything we don't like: fatty pulled pork and my wife's lunch salad wilted and tasteless. (Prior review: 4 stars. Great to know there' a place to stop on the way to Salt Lake. Had the pulled pork and a salad. Good food, solid ingredients, nice people. We'll be back.)

This is a great little gem right of the highway. It's got a cozy atmosphere and quick service. We had a large group, and they gave us pitchers of beverages so we didn't have to wait for refills, and our food came out fast and hot. We tried the Blue Bacon burger, the Malibu Chicken sandwich Chicken BLT wrap, Pepperoni pizza and the Triple Cheese burger. The burgers were well done and juicy, messy to eat- just the way they should be. The pizza had a wonderful sourdough crust and the chicken was grilled and juicy. Great place for weary travelers to stop.

Not what I expect from a "brew pub." We made the mistake too many times now. The place is kind of a dump. It's not sure whether it wants to be a brew pub, a biker bar, or a restaurant. It looks like it was decorated by Napoleon Dynamite, right down to the dirty, textured ceiling tiles. Worst of all, they were playing obnoxiously loud top-40 country music...all forlorn and twangy mixed with vapid God-and-country patriotism. The service was friendly, but lackluster. My burger was good. The cod in my wife's sandwich was rubbery and inedible to her. The nachos were commercial tortilla chips microwaved too little to completely melt the grated cheddar tossed over them with some salsa, sour cream, black olives and jalepenos. And since the cheese had already lost its melty-ness, it really seemed like they grabbed an order that had been sitting around for 20 minutes. Utah beers on-tap are thin and bodiless, so that's not so much Pinnacle's fault. But they really need some better options: bottled beer and wine.

WARNING - Excellent food but absolutely horrible service. My fiancé and I went there around 7pm on a Saturday evening as we stopped in Price for the night. Groggs was recommended to us by a local friend. I knew this was a small community, so I was expecting a good time of relaxing with people and the orders taking a little longer than usual. This was far worse than I expected. The food was excellent, but it took us nearly 2 hours to get it. It took the waitress 30min to get our first set of drinks. 20-30min would pass between any future request we made. I knew she was frantic and borderline retarded, but very sweet and friendly...so I would go behind the bar and get boxes and condiments for ourselves when we needed them, since the same 20-30min would pass with no service. The three tables around us had the same thing and were getting furious. I have been all over the world and can completely understand overworked staff and will help out wherever I can and be super patient the entire time... Problem was...there was maybe 10 tables total being served between two waitresses. Maybe it's because I've seen larger city restaurants handle far more than this, including my brief days waiting in college, but these two ladies were pathetic. Everything they did was followed with a huge sigh and out of breath, though they weren't doing much of anything. Again, the food was really good...we got the spinach dip (AMAZING!!) to start, fiancé got the chicken mushroom avocado sandwich, and I got the steak sandwich. They were absolutely delicious, though they were nearly 3hrs late after our order. So the cook staff is doing it right. The waitress even told us they were yelling at her in back to take the orders to the table...so it was easy to see where the problem was. Recommendation...try out the food as a TO GO order and save yourself the grief of dealing with the completely incompetent staff. Again, they were super nice and friendly...but quite a few bricks short of a load. To the manager...fire the staff or hire more, and give them incentives to love their job. Train them properly and get someone to work the bar the entire time. If not, your phenomenal cook staff will seek life elsewhere because no tips will be coming through.

I had the potato soup and the BLT chicken wrap. The soup could have been seasoned a little more but the wrap was the BEST! This little town really does have big city food

Service was good but food was a waste of money. Soggy nachos and frozen tasting pizza.

We came here expecting it to be more of a brewing company. It appeared to be just a bar/restaurant. I can't judge on the beer because I tend to like very hoppy beers which can't really be found in UT. I had a decent salad but the pizza was not good at all. It was a mix of cheeses and way too cheesy and oily. Service was fine but nothing was good enough to make me want to return.

Big delicious burgers. Good microbrew beer. Generous portions and creative menu options for a small town like Price. Eat here.

Groggs was recommended to me by my Utah-local friends, so on our trip down to Price we made sure to stop. Overall, I was extremely pleased with my experience and if I ever find myself in Price again I would love to come again. The decor was very country home kitchen, with cute gingham curtains, antique farm tools decorating the walls, and a lovely stone fireplace. Where I come from, all the brewing companies have trendy industrial chic interiors, so this was a refreshing experience--it made me feel like a local. I pretended to kick off my mud-covered boots after a long day in the fields and order a cold one with my buddies. The only thing that was killing this vibe was the pop music blaring from the radio. Katy Perry get out of my country fantasy! But I digress.. Grogg's offers a large menu with lots of variety: appetizers, soups, salads, burgers, sandwiches, special entrees, and even pizza! (I guess in this little town town you have to offer a lot to the locals to keep things interesting?) Most dishes come with your choice of side dish, and there's plenty of options there too. Since this is also a brewing company, there are plenty of beverage options to choose from (I, unfortunately, stuck with water.) I ordered the Deluxe BLT with broccoli slaw (although the German potato salad sounded delicious too). What I got was a massive sandwich with house-smoked bacon, tomato, spring greens, avocado, cheddar cheese, and a delightfully spicy aioli. While I was pleased with all the flavors, I felt like the cheese should have been melted, that the bacon was a little too crispy for my tastes, and that more avocado would have been good. The broccoli slaw, although incredibly simple (store bought shred broccoli slaw dressed in balsamic vinegar?) it was a wonderful fresh accompaniment to my sandwich. If I am ever in Price, UT, again I would love to give Grogg's a visit, and I recommend you do too!

The Cajun prime rib was excellent and cooked to perfection the wait staff was excellent also the nachos were okay not the best that I have had. The salad was very good but I am not a fan of the sunflower seeds. Over all it is a great place to eat at.

It's good. Typical small town place to eat. Good beer. Good burger. I'd eat there again if I were in Price.

Oh my was I skeptical driving the 2 miles off the hwy. However this place is the real deal. If your in the mood for a killer burger, this is the spot. A real gem in the middle of nowhere. Service is above well above average and the ambience was very comfortable. We hung out and enjoyed a pinnacle brew (pale ale) which was very enjoyable and smooth, not over hopped.

Perfect off the highway place to try! I've been driving through Price for southern Utah for years and always happy to find a new place to try! I read some other reviews.. And c'mon people.. You're in Price, UT.. It's 100 degrees outside.. Off the beaten path and you're critiquing the salmon?! Order the burger or chicken like any other normal person.. Order a selection from the local brewery and enjoy every minute of it!

A surprising oasis on your way to or from Southeast Utah. Grogg's looks like a small town, home style diner. Country wallpaper border. No-frills seating. The local "newsletter" on the table featuring ads for auto repair and obscure trivia questions. Servers who have trouble with the word "gouda." And it is. But it serves up some pretty delicious food and decent homebrews. We started with a plate of nachos, which were nicely baked with plenty of cheese. Strangely, the sour cream and the salsa (which was not super hot, but very flavorful) were almost hidden in the middle of the nachos. Go digging for all of the accompaniments! If you're a meat eater, go with the smoked prime rib. Tender, juicy, with this deep smoked flavor that actually enhances the meat. It's BBQ, but better. If it were in my neighborhood, I'd eat it for lunch once a week. I had mine with a side of clam chowder that was thick, rich, and had a little zing. (Maybe some of their beer? Maybe a seasoning I couln't place? Whatever, it was delicious.) Often in smaller towns, one might get nervous that you can't get "big city" food for picky eaters -- our party and someone who doesn't eat gluten, and a couple of vegetarians. But there were offerings for everyone, and quite tasty. The wife really enjoyed the garden burger, which seemed to be homemade, and the server was able to modify sandwiches for gluten free eating and the german potato salad for vegetarians. We only had one of their homebrewed beers, their pale ale. It was a little wattery, and not crazy hoppy, but totally drinkable. They have some fruit and wheat beers which seem to be their specialty. Because that's not my thing, we skipped them, but that might be the better choice next time. Grogg's is absolutely worth the trek off the highway. Don't let the simple decor fool you -- there's lots of good food there.

I got a reference from a local about this place I had a smoked steak sandwich with German potato salad , my with had homemade chicken soup with a great side salad . All food was made with love from scratch. Totally recommend

4 stars given the other choices in this area (I would probably not choose to eat here in a standard metropolitan area with other choices, but this is a good option for Price). Loved the sesame seeds and broccoli on the salmon salad. Love that they offer Real Salt. Didn't love the fries. Good spices on the outside, but tasted like reconstituted potato flakes on the inside - dry and kind of fake. Negatve points for styrofoam containers! Wish they had a whole grain bread option. Chicken sandwich with mushrooms and avocado good, but not as good as I had hoped (pretty poor avocado and tomato).

Yelp should probably combine Groggs and Pinnacle Brewing Company since they seem to be the same place. We stopped here during a drive from SLC to Moab, wanting to get out of the car for a bit. It was also Easter Sunday so we were glad to find a place that was open and wasn't a drive thru. I thought it was great. Service was friendly and pleasant, and the order came out quickly. The oven baked fries were tasty but those thick cuts tend to fill me up. I got a cheddar, bacon burger. They only do well done burgers, which is how I order them anyway. The meat was cooked through but wasn't dry or tough. The bacon was thick and well cooked. I tried some of their Hefeweizen my husband had ordered and thought it was pretty good and refreshing. I would definitely go back if I was on a similar road trip again. There aren't a lot of choices on that drive but this would be a good option regardless.

They don't brew beer here anymore. And the beers they do have are all light colored. Their porter is seasonal for some reason and it wasn't available when we were there. The food was tasty, I had the salmon wrap and the bf had a smoked brisket sandwich. I felt the portions were small, but good! Overall we liked the food, but we're very disappointed in the beer.

I was in town from Salt Lake for a funeral, and my family and I needed to shake off the stress of the day together and get some dinner. We chose Groggs based on recommendation of my family member who lives in that area, and while my expectations were already low, it ended up sucking so much more than expected. Admittedly, I am from a small hick town about a half hour south of Price, so I grew up with no real idea of what good food was until around 10 years ago. I was hoping in returning things would have progressed and gotten better. It hasn't. The menu is fairly large, and I ended up with a french dip sandwich, my husband got a burger(bacon and swiss I think), my dad got a 1/4 a chicken, and my mom got a taco salad of sorts. Our waitress was horrible, she didn't want to split the check till the end, forgot things we asked for the entire meal, brought random extras of things we didn't ask for, just really daft, and incompetent. My french dip was fine, really nothing too good or bad, the same went for my husbands burger. Though his "potato salad" was vinegar based, which was kind of odd, and the potatoes were near mushy. My mom asked if she could have a certain salad in a hard shell taco, and she got a salad plopped on a soft shell tortilla. It was bland, soggy, and of massive size. My dads chicken was bland, and just weird in general. His baked potato was fine until it was near gone and discovered it was black and moldy on the bottom. I'm sure its a fine place for people to go and relax after work, considering the restaurant options in that town are slim and consist mostly of fast good. I am glad I will never have to go back there ever again and I'm glad I don't live there anymore.

The good people of price must be starved for some good food if Pinnacle Brewing is rated at 4 stars. First the beer situation: it's all very cryptic, no brands other than the national labels are displayed, when I asked if their beers are made on site I was told that it has all moved to SLC. I assume Pinnacle is getting beer from the co op. I ordered the mysterious, brand less heffeweizen which was pretty good, I would say its probably a Uintah Brewing beer. Food: if you like your meal to consist of 90% bread, this is your place. I ordered the smoked pork sandwich that was 90% bread, 5% cole slaw, 5% pork. The others in our group ordered sandwiches and pizzas and found the bread to be overkill. Service: service is pretty good though one waitress works much harder than the other. I would not recommend this restaurant to passers through, it may be one of the few options in Price for the locals.

I really like the Pinnacle Brewing Company or Groggs. I've eaten here several times and always had a good experience. We've never had to wait for a table, the service has always been friendly, and the food is good. Usually I get a burger so I can't speak to everything on the menu, but as far as cooked cow meat on a bun is concerned, I can definitely vouch for its deliciousness! Yummy! The homemade pretzels are also a special treat and a great appetizer or snack. If you need a place to eat in Price you best check out the Pinnacle Brewing Company.

AKA Grogg's - Great place to stop in Price! We had the smoked salmon wrap (they smoke some of their own meat) and the soup of the day. Everything was fresh and tasty! The soup could have been hotter but the broccoli slaw was excellent. They also brew some of their own beers (offsite) and the amber ale was great! Great fresh food, good service and good beer!

Went on a road trip and happened to go by here and I must say they have really great burgers. It has a relax and chill atmosphere making it the perfect setting to just grab a beer with some friends and eat a really good beefy and tasty burger. Recommendation(s): Any one of their burgers. Note(s): It is right next to a bowling alley.

On our way through Utah we got hungry. Saw great yelp reviews so we thought we'd give this a shot. We're from Portland and their are many options for a hand formed gourmet half pound burger and when I say Groggs burger options, my mouth watered as I know my cravings would be abolished. I oredered a burger and asked for medium rare and the waitress said house policy was WELL DONE and no exceptions! If Groggs doesn't trust their meat than I don't either. I ended up getting something else and will never stop their on tour again!

Acting on a AAA review, my wife and I stopped in for lunch on our way across to Moab from Salt Lake City and are so glad we did, so much so, when we returned, we did so again. Both experiences were the best. I had the ribs and my wife the salmon salad - both were as good as we've had across the country in our 2 months holiday, eating out lunch and dinner every day. Their prices are another pleasant surprise. The decor is well executed 'country America' - the staff were lovely, hard working and thoughtful people. They deserve all the success I suspect they're enjoying. They clearly know, they've got to meet and exceed customers' expectations if they're going to get them to repeat coming in off the highway for a meal. AND EXCEED EXPECTATIONS THEY DO!!!

  • Richard M.

Smoked salmon was very good. I Had it as a sandwich. The side salad was substantial with a great lettuce mix (no iceberg) and veggies. Amber ale was solid but nothing spectacular. Definitely recommend this place.

  • J M.

Yeah it's okay. Food is reliable and reasonably price. I would recommend the pulled pork. It's a good place to go with a large group. But it's not a brewery, so don't expect their crafted beers to blow your skirt up.

    (3)
  • Montain B.

We found a new place! The food is good if you order the right thing. I had the pulled pork and I can't say that I would write home about it. My finance had a great wrap and amazing chicken soup. My son (4) had a huge burger and fries (off the kids menu)... bigger than his head. I looked over at the table next to us and they had a great looking burger. Beer was good, but strange for a brewing co. that they do not make it. For sure the BEST place in the area.

The good people of Price have few options when it comes to dining out, but that doesn't make this place a gourmet restaurant... Restaurant: My table smelled like urine. I quickly moved to another, but it too smelled like pee. I can only assume that they're cleaning the tables with dirty rags - gag. Service: Nice and helpful, but not very attentive. Food: The smoked salmon wrap was too salty, and the quesadilla was lack luster. But the side salad was full of variety (not the usual small town shredded lettuce and carrot sticks). Honestly, the food wasn't terrible, and I'm impressed that they house-smoke their own salmon! But the food wasn't great, either. I think their key problem is that they have 30+ items on the menu. They're stretched too thin and have to sacrifice quality for quantity. If they cut down their menu to 10 items and really focused on quality, they could have something special in this tiny town. What a shame. 2.5 stars.

We spent the night in Price, while driving from SLC to the Front Range in CO. I was somewhat concerned to see the only decently rated restaurant in Price was the Taco Bell. Really? I found Pinnacle on Yelp, although it was unreviewed. I figured anyplace with beer had to be better than anyplace without beer. Pinnacle was a pleasant surprise. The food was well prepared and tasty. My steak sandwich was cooker perfectly, and the German potato salad was really good. I highly recommend the Porter, which was dark and heavy, just like beer should be. I have no idea when we'll return to Price, but when we do, we'll eat here again. Additional note re: Price: NO coffee shop in the entire town? That's very sad.

This place was awesome. Everything was clean, the staff very friendly and food was good. We had the pale ale that they brew and it was 3 of 5, smooth but not super deep in flavor. The burgers my wife and I had were delicious and maybe one of the betters burgers we had in a while. The salads had real greens mix which is a surprise on small towns cause most of the time you get iceberg. The kids food was good but the pizza was to cheesy. Again our burgers and salads were outstanding and the staff was great.

Pinnacle Brewing Company, AKA Groggs, was really a life saver. We were in town for a marathon (the LIttle Grand Canyon), and as 6 vegetarians/pescetarians traveling in rural Utah, we were worried about our options. Pinnacle had good solid food, with some interesting details, and plenty of vegetarian options. The Spinach Dip was particularly interesting, with spinach on top of dip served in a hollowed baguette. The Apricot Wheat beer was also a hit, and we picked up a growler for after our run. Beware, it's a bit North of Price, close to Helper on Hwy10. Google maps with the above address may lead you astray

If you like bar food and good beer, this is the place. The hamburgers are large and very tasty. We also had the chicken wings for a starter and they were just ok, nothing special, the high light of the meal were these large, well cooked burgers.

  • Wayne W.

My favorite restaurant in the area. The food is always good, so far I haven't ordered anything here I didn't like. The service is usually great (it can suffer a little when the place is really busy, but that's understandable). The beer is quite good, although I'm very disappointed that they replaced their porter on tap with Viennese, a lackluster lager from the Bohemian Brewery (if I ever couldn't decide where I wanted to eat, the porter usually tipped the scale in Groggs' favor). Pretty much my only complaint is that the fries (potato wedges) are hit or miss. If you happen to get a fresh batch they're excellent. If they've been sitting around for a while they're not so good, and sort of seem waxy.

On the way to southern Utah from Slc this was 1 of only 3 lunch restaurants in Price, Utah reviewed on yelp.com and after eating there I feel duped. First off, if the words "Brewing Company" are in the name of your joint beer is no longer brewed there, this is bound to aggravate guests. Change the name of your establishment. The server was not friendly and did not care if her guests were satisfied or not, seemed like she wasn't really working for anything. I wait tables for a living, and while I believe tipping should be mandatory, I work for it and expect others to! The wings were really fatty, I tried to pick but couldn't find any meaty parts. I definitely never want food for free, just for a server to recognize the issue and maybe offer to get us something different. All the burgers on the menu SOUNDED great, but Pinnacle will only cook their meat well done (a Utah thing?) so that plus canned mushrooms ruined what could have been a tasty 'room-swiss burger. The quality and variety of veggies in the side salad almost made up for crappy wings & burger, except I could only eat the top layer because there was a pool of vinegarette at the bottom. Sat there for awhile at the end of the meal while our server rolled silverware and checked her cell phone, until we realized that you pay at the counter. We weren't given a check, just told what our total was-shady if you ask me. Bottom line- with zero competition Pinnacle Brewing Co. doesn't have to try very hard with food or service. Hey good for them. If I ever have to drive through Price again I will opt for highway fast food and probably receive better service and around the same quality food at a much better price.

Good food, good service and friendly people. The beer is not very good. A selection of good bottled beer would be great. This is likely more a result of the laws under which they operate than bad taste. In any case the half strength beer should be half price. Among the other restaurants in Price, it is on the list.

Prepare to have your socks, shoes, and feet blown clean off. I travel all across the state of Utah, and have eaten at dives and burger joints in literally every corner of the state. I live in downtown SLC and have eaten the finest it has to offer. Those things said, if you're ever in Price, or driving through Price, or are close to Price - make this happen. Easily in my top 5 favorite restaurants in the state of Utah. Amazing burgers, great sandwiches, just a total winner. I can't vouch for the beer... but if I was to pick up a drinking habit, I would make a trek to Price just to sample their handiwork.

Last September (2012) we chose Groggs from our AAA Utah Tour Book as being the best place to stop for a meal on our trip between SLC and Moab - Groggs had a top rating. AAA has proven a very reliable source of info on restaurants and diners throughout the years we've been travelling your wonderful country. Again AAA did not let us down - our lunch at Groggs was the best meal we had had in a very long time. My wife had the salmon salad, while I had the ribs. I am deeply carnivorous and have sought to sample the best ribs your country has to offer ..... from Angelos in Dallas, to Stonefire Grill in Southern California to Lucile's up and down the West Coast, and too many to recall in NYNY. Groggs is the best I've had, incredibly tasty, not fatty and dry, but succulently moist. My wife was similarly delighted with her salmon. While enjoying many great meals since, we've experienced nothing better in the intervening year. I am prompted to write after our re-visiting Groggs today, following the maximum, 'When you're on a good thing, stick to it.' We repeated our order of just over a year ago, hoping to swoon in rapturous delight yet again with an equally fulfilling repeat experience. We were not let down. Our meals were spectacular ..... so much so, we ordered a repeat 'to go'. All diners around us, in this very folksy small community tavern, appeared very pleased with their meals.

Best hamburgers ever! Actually, everything we ate there was superb! Fresh, innoative, well-prepared. Great service and fun atmosphere. Reasonable prices. Yummy desserts. Good selection of ales, too.

I stopped in here after bowling at bowling alley next door. The waitresses were very welcoming and suggested their special of the day which was pork ribs. There was too much food for me and it was very good. This is a comfortable place to drink beer and eat good food. The potato soup was good too!

Wow. Looks like a hole in the wall but the food is fabulous. I had the brisket sandwich and my friend had the turkey. The turkey was Real Turkey pulled off a roasted turkey. The brisket was tender and not overly sauced. The waitstaff - and Jamie we mean you especially - were fabulous. It's worth it. Go and have a bite.

Wow! The reviews are accurate. Likely the best restaurant not just in Price, but probably for hundreds of miles. Starter chili cheese fries were very good. We had the pulled pork wrap and slaw,...great wrap and fresh broccoli slaw...and the Baja burger- very good. Tried the Boston Creme cheesecake at waitress' suggestion....all I can say is OMG!

4 stars in the context of being located in Price. We had good pulled pork and chicken sandwiches, everything was fresh and there was a nice selection of sides. We'll stop here again.

This is more of a 3 star place anywhere else, however, considering this place is in Price, it deserves all the stars it can get. I had a decent bbq sandwich with some pretty good slaw. The pale ale was really good and had a surprisingly hoppy taste for a 3.2 beer. The ambiance wasn't anything special, however, they do have a decent little patio.

Unless you have a lot, and I really do mean a lot, of spare time, and aren't hungry, this place is mediocre. Friday evening about 6-ish (3/23), and only two servers, who also dealt with the bar, and all the to-go orders were overwhelmed, and overwhelmingly...unremarkable. Took over 10 minutes to get menus. Took another 10 for her to ask if we wanted something to drink (yes: beer and water). Took another 5 minutes to get the...just beer and take our orders. Observed table next to us ask for high chair and never receive it. Another neighbor table couldn't get her attention for their check. Finally, at least, and I am not exaggerating, 20 more minutes, and our burgers come. (I guess you should always be suspicious when they don't ask you how you want your burger cooked.) our jalapeño and bacon blue arrived. My fries were actually cold. Hubby's broc slaw tasted funky. I informed server they were cold, "Let me get those heated up," was the reply (no apology). While the reheat was being done, observed the table next to us just get up and finally go get the high chair for themselves. Table next to us sat for over 15 minutes without a greeting or a menu. Finally the woman asks the server as she passes by, "I don't know if you knew we were here," to which server replied, "Sure, let me get you some menus." But, I digress, back to the food: burgers had good toppings, but weren't hot and were overcooked and dry. Newly reheated (yikes) fries were tasty. The neighbor's pizza looked like the one you get at the airport from Pizza Hut To Go. Couldn't get out of there fast enough.
