Five stars for the lime ice cream I remember as a kid. I grew up in Payson and honestly I've never tried the actual food here because I was always more health-conscious, but I did love my sweets. I have fond memories of stopping here on summer days with my mama to get lime ice cream, which was so yummy, but it seemed that they only served it at a certain time in the summer or something back then, because I remember that we would check by every so often to see if they had it or not, and sometimes they didn't. Although, I believe they have it year round now, because I visited just a couple of days ago with my husband on a spontaneous trip to Utah to visit family, and they had it! They also do what they call a Lime Cooler, which is a cup of the lime ice cream with Sprite poured around it, and a couple of sliced maraschino cherries with a slice of lime on top, which was what I chose this time, and it was perfectly on point. I live in California with my husband now, and there are so many great creameries here with original favors like orange ginger and lavender cream, but that lime ice cream from Daley Freeze will always be something I crave! :)

We just moved here and the place seemed like it has some cool history. 1. Menu has WAY too many items on it to possibly have any quality control. They don't have a drive through, just a drive up window, which is awkward. The wait was about 20 min. 2. My order: Double cheeseburger and fries. The cheeseburger was dry and looked like they resold me a big Mac left out for a day. Tasted awful. Buns were stale and broke apart easily, meat patties were dry and stiff... Not warm. Cheese was Kraft style American slices, not melted at all. Fries were soggy and disgusting. Fry sauce was thick and not proportionately mixed (too much mayonnaise) 3. Kids orders: Chicken Nuggets, Corn Dog and ice cream. The Nuggets looked like they were out of the box from the grocery store and heated up in the microwave... Since they were soggy inside I wouldn't let my kids eat them. The corn dog was normal. The ice cream was normal vanilla soft serve. Overall this place seems to be living off its past and Ice Cream sales. My advice, organize/clean the interior better, pay the money for a drive through system (you have the space) SIMPLIFY your food menu. Stop trying to offer everything for everyone. You should seriously consider serving a staple of 7-10 food items only. That way you can focus on keeping food served fresh and not soggy garbage out of the microwave. Doing that and having your ice cream, you'd probably double your revenue. Update your look... Menu's, signage, clean the exterior a bit... The place looks old, dingy and stale. You'd be surprised what a $100 can get you from a graphic designer in terms of your look.

Used to come here as a little girl with my grandparents to get lime freezes and to my surprise they still taste how I remember them

This is a great little place to stop and get a burger and fries. My personal favorite is the Malibu chicken. It's a large chicken breast, fresh slice a ham with mayo mustard and pickles, which is very fulfilling. the best part about the meal is you can end it with a lime freeze, just like my grandmother used to buy me here 20 years ago.

Best lime and seven up freezes around. The food was so so. Fun small town drive through feel.

I love a good french fry, so when they put "the best frys in town" on their sign out front....I gotta try it. I waited at the window for about 5 minutes before the girl at the register even acknowledged my presence. She could have at least said " welcome, I'll be with you in a minute." But, I was totally ignored by her and another female employee. The fries were ok at best. Maybe they should eat at some of the other places in town, cause if theirs are they best.... Actually the fries at the bowling alley beat these things hands down! And the staff at the bowling alley is a lot friendlier. The freeze was good, but could have used more soda for better flavor. It's doubtful that I would take the time out of my day to go back. There are just to many choices within 10 miles to waste my time coming back for mediocre service and food.

when i first moved here i was this place and thought SWEET! I love local food joints. I ordered just a hamburger and a shake and waited 30 minutes for it and my food didn't come out at the same time! I was very disappointed. The food was meh. Just for those folks that are passing through, just keep on moving because there isn't anything special here. The only thing this place has going for it is history. if you want a local place that is half decent go another mile south and go visit the Polar Queen. I had a better experience there plus they have sitting.

been going to daily freez since I was a kid, so I might just love it for the sentimental value. BUT that being said, it does have the best french fries - they use seasoned salt and it is just amazing. The fried halibut is also great, but a little pricey. Some of the reviews below complain about the wait which can certainly happen, so don't expect to get in and out of here quickly. Also I believe they only take cash, so be prepared!

Driving from SLC to St. George, my boyfriend and I decided to stop in Payson for a bite. We avoid chains to the max, so the quaint little mom-and-pop look of Daley Freez seemed the most promising. We were the only car in the drive-through and the lot itself. We placed our order, paid, and waited for 30 minutes directly outside the window. As we waited, we watched the manager deliver shakes and drinks to a select few cars in the now-huge line behind us--those cars also received their food long before my boyfriend and I. Despite being conveniently placed at the window, our simple Dr. Peppers were never offered to us whilst we waited... My boyfriend knocked on the window after 35 minutes to simply get our money back. At that point, McDonald's was quite obviously the better choice for our meal that night. The employee refused to give us our money back, stating "it's almost ready." My boyfriend attempted to communicate that we didn't want the food any longer due to the pure shock of Daley Freez's definition of service and the blatant rudeness we experienced while waiting for our food. She went into retard-mode and didn't know what to do or say. Then the manager, on the phone kindly helping whomever called, literally yelled at my boyfriend: "I'M ON THE PHONE. YOU NEED TO SHUT UP." That was the only contact we had with the manager during our visit. Zero updates on our wait time were given, and not one slight "sorry" was uttered by any employee. I honestly have never been treated so rudely by anyone. And this is a restaurant! You work in the SERVICE industry! Needless to say, McDonald's was delicious.

We waited an hour for our burgers, fries, shake and salads. The girls in the back were seriously just staring at everyone in line and not cooking. It was actually kinda funny how horrible it was. After waiting an hour, our salad came with no dressing, which they said they were out but we could have some tartar sauce or fry sauce.. to put on our salad. The orders were wrong, but they threw in a random scone, so that was a plus. The ambience matched the service, a random stray dog came in from the street and begged for food and nuzzled up to my kids with its tumor nose. We sat on tables in the parking lot, nestled up to overflowing garbage cans while multiple car alarms went off around us in the parking lot next to us. After the wait, the food wasn't good, the shrimp was disgusting, and my kids wouldn't even eat it their kids meals. My kids can't stop taking about it, so at least it was an adventure.

For the Payson area this is the BEST fast food for sure! I hate getting super greasy fried food and this place manages to keep it to a minimum. The food you order actually tastes like food instead of the fryer. Very clean and friendly service. The only thing if it is busy they take a while. BUT it's worth the wait.

Do yourself a favor and keep on driving by when you see this place. You will get more pleasure out of the old-time look of the place then you will from the food. I can only speak for the burgers. Not bad but absolutely nothing special about it. Fries were good though, I will give them that. The main reason for my 3 stars is the wait. I don't know if it was a bad day or what but it took 30 minute before I had my burger in hand and I was pretty much the only one there.

You can't miss this place - its on one of the main drags in Payson, and when its "roll down the window" weather, I say, its time for a cool drink. I know, its only 53 out, but it feels REALLY good after a long winter, to feel that sun on my arm and roll that car window down. Payson is the gateway to the Mt Nebo Loop Drive and this is a nice stop on the way there. Daley Freez a nice local biz that serves yummy treats. Its the kind of place that you remember from your teenage years driving around on a hot summer night, looking for something to do. I hear the handbattered fish and chips are good. Sometime I will go back and try that or a burgers and fries (sign on the outside says 'best fries in town') but today it was an IRONPORT! I've just discovered the old fashioned ironport drink, and love it. Nice people at the window. Last year in the summer I had one of their dipped cones, and this place does get busy. Try it.

Wherever I go I like to try the local independent burger joints. This place has great fries. Instead of getting ketchup for them you get some kind of sauce that seems like a mix of mayonnaise and ketchup. It was weird, but I liked it. The chocolate malt I got was so thick I popped my ears trying to suck it through the straw!
