Thai Drift Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

Good Thai food isn't too difficult to come by, but not every city has a great Thai food restaurant. Thai Drift has become a main stay in the restaurant rotation for me and many of my friends. The food is always done right - from the Pad Thai, curry, and fried rice to the egg rolls and stir fry. Favorite dishes are the massaman and pineapple curries. Would recommend going family style with a large group so you can try a little bit of everything.

Great food, but the service was lacking. We came in at an off time and it seemed like there was only one person working. The server seemed annoyed that we were there. The food more than made up for the poor service though, which is why I still give the place 4 stars.

I love Thai food, and this place definitely does not disappoint me! I love starting with the made-fresh vegetarian spring rolls. They are so delicious and so healthy. Unlike most other restaurants' "spring rolls," these are freshly handmade and not deep-fried. The sweet and sour chili sauce for dipping adds the perfect zing to this delicious appetizer. My favorite entree, which I could never get enough of, is the pumpkin curry. It is simply amazing. I have no words that could possibly live up to how delicious this curry is. You are probably thinking that pumpkin curry sounds unusual, but please take my word for it -- it is simply amazing. I get it just vegetarian, but you can order it with any meat. Just trust me and order it. You won't be disappointed. My only complaint is that the servers here aren't the friendliest, but the incredible food makes up for it!

All 5 dishes that we ordered to go were horrible. All of the meat was extremely over cooked. The rice was over cooked and burnt in some places. All of the thai noodles were under cooked and were too chewy. It wasn't even busy in the restaurant. There was no reason for the poorly cooked and poorly seasoned food. I will never return.

Got the shrimp soup. Customer service stinks, their server helped me for 5 minutes and no more. unimpressed with the high prices. $9 for soup and another $9 for crappy fried shrimp rolls? And they didn't even go thru the bill with me, so I was expected to pay $20 for 2 items...not going again. I'd rather the Thai noodle king in Provo.

I use to love this place, but lately everything seems watered down and less than impressive. I have been three times in the last month just thinking it may have been an off day. They just don't put love into the dishes like they use too. Not to mention the terrible service. Spend money elsewhere.

  • Katie C.

Meh. Blah. Most dishes too sweet and sauces too thin. Service was slow and inattentive. I see no reason to come back.

I tried this place since it had a pretty good review. I must say that the taste was average and I wasn't much impressed. After having similar experiences at Thai places outside of So. Cal, it may be that I am just too spoiled to have great Thai places around my area. Service was good and accommodating though.

After a few visits, I've got no complaints about the quality of the food. However, portion size of certain dishes here can raise an eyebrow, or both. Namely the seafood salad and the pineapple fried rice. Both were great, but the seafood salad was skimpy and I would need to order two more rounds of these to even get semi-full. The portion just really doesn't make sense for an entree that costs roughly $12. The pineapple fried rice came with a more appropriate portion but again, it wouldn't fill you up. Consider the main ingredient is old rice, it should over stuff you instead of not filling. Overall, really good flavors and high end ingredients in every dish, but plan to do a 3 course meal if you want to walk away full.

Average. I got the Chicken Satay as an appetizer. It was a little dry and tough. Ginger stir fry as a main dish which was good overall but seemed to have soaked in the juices too long, over saturated. I enjoyed my dish but it was nothing to flip over. The environment was dimly lit and cold. Service was decent. There seemed to someone waking around but not directly checking on you unless you asked. Although I love 70's music, the radio station over the speakers took away any Thai authenticity. Still on the search for a great Thai restaurant.

The best Thai food I've ever had. Wish they had more locations. I would gladly drive from Salt Lake to Orem just for this food. I recommend the pad Thai and the pineapple curry with chicken.

  • Monica H.

Went here for lunch. Had the lunch special. The lunch special consists of one appetizer and one entree. I choose the pot stickers and Massaman Curry. The cost for the lunch special was $5.99! Super quick service and great food. I got there around 11:40. By noon they were full of patrons. I would suggest getting there a little early for good seating.

Nice new place. Decent Thai food. Keep in mind that it is advertised as fast food and you won't be disappointed. Solid service.

Awful Service! ZERO STARS! Awful Food. Thost most Annoying waiters Ever! Keep coming back asking if i want a box to leave. Terrible Place!

In my early experiences with Thai food, everything was spicy. Some dishes made me sweat, but Thai Drift isn't one of those places This place is sweet. The curry was sweet, the pad thai was sweet, and the Glanga soup was sweet.. I didn't even dare venture into the desserts. The staff was nice, the place was clean, it just wasn't what I expect/hope for from Thai.

    (3)
  • Dave B.

Pineapple curry here is amazing. I get it with the chicken option. This place introduced me to Thai food and keeps me coming back. Prices are very reasonable.

  • Kember B.

I ordered takeout, the Massaman Curry, Coconut Soup, and Chicken Pad Thai. The meal cost me about $30 and the portion sizes were larger than I expected, my husband and I had plenty of leftovers. The Chicken Pad Tai was was a bit bland but not bad. The Massaman Curry was very good, and the Coconut Soup was pretty good too. My order was ready in about 20 minutes. I've never eaten inside the restaurant, but all around not bad.

    (4)
  • Amber S.

Food was not bad- not what I expected with all the rave reviews though. Spice level is on point- 7 is exactly what I expected. Portion sizes were fine if you were looking at three courses, but again, not what I expected especially considering other reviews. I ordered an item without onion- had an entire half of an onion in it- only found out when I got take out order home (guess my bad, should have checked). When I called restaurant the person who answered was short and asked, "what I wanted him to do?!" And hung up when I was taken aback and said, "I guess I don't know, nevermind?". All the meat in every dish was over cooked- some slightly burnt. All in all a dismal experience for such a highly rated place.

If you are in the mood for curry or anything else they make you will be happy with this one. Very good delicious, flavorful and priced right. We ordered take out so I can't say much regarding the service other than they we pleasant, easy to communicate with and quick. The portion sizes where on point if you are hungry.

I love this restaurant, I go at least once a month, although I could eat it all the time. I usually get the Som Tum (aka Papaya Salad) and Pad King Ginger with beef. I've tried the Som Tum at every Thai restaurant I've been to but Thai Drift does it the best and they actually give you the sticky rice automatically when you order it, most places I go do not. The service has always been good for me and I like the atmosphere; however, I typically do take out because I'm close and it's easy to pick up on my way home from work.

    (5)
  • Michelle E.

Masaman curry, I could eat you every day. The peanut flavor is so good! We got the pumpkin curry which is also good and has a little bite, but didn't have the full flavor of the Masaman. Great local place that has fast take out.

  • Ryan T.

This place is a million times better than the other "Thai-restaurants-in-a-house" places in Utah County. It has the savory, nutty flavor you should expect from a true Thai place and isn't just about yellow and green curry. The soups are good and the noodle and curry flavors are miles better than you normally find.

    (4)
  • Douglas B.

Absolutely the best Thai food in the state! The service is ALWAYS wonderful and the food is consistently to notch. You will never go wrong eating there. It is not on the menu but the cucumbers with peanut sauce is a great way to start off the meal.

  • Daryl B.

We love this place. My wife and I come here every time we are in Utah. Inexpensive, good portion size (I usually have left overs), and they have lunch specials. The service can be spotty from time to time. I love the red, pineapple, and pumpkin curry. My wife always goes for the green curry. Their pad Thai is good too. Spring rolls and chicken satays are very good as well. I have recommended this place to numerous people and they have all loved it. Even if you don't like Thai food, you will like this place.

I love Thai food and decided to pick up some Thai Drift on my way home one night. They had it ready for pickup really quickly (and this was a Friday night) and the food was great overall. My only warning is that when you order something spicy it is really spicy. I always think of myself as being able to handle a lot of heat but when I told them to make it 7 out of 10 I could barely handle it. I can't even imagine what type of person could handle a 10 out of 10 at Thai Drift... this isn't the reason for the docked star, though, as this really was my fault. The guy on the phone even warned me that 7 out of 10 would be hot. My only real complaint is that there wasn't enough beef in my massaman curry. The sauce is great, I really liked the cashews (I've noticed some places use peanuts instead, I prefer cashews), but there just wasn't as much beef as I was hoping for. I wish that Yelp allowed half-stars, though, because I would actually give this place a 4.5.

    (4)
  • Joe L.

We really enjoyed the Pad Thai noodles, the Pad Me' noodles, Massaman Curry, and rice pudding with mango (desert). There seems to be more depth to the flavors than other places I've been to. Next time I would order something different than the garlic chicken and beef and broccoli -- nothing wrong with them but they aren't as exciting as the other dishes we ordered.

  • Shaun C.

Honestly... The best Thai food in Utah County and possibly all of Utah. I eat here 2-3 times a month and have never had a bad meal.

  • Chris G.

Thai Drift is my Must Stop whenever I'm near Provo/Lindon... Go for the lunch specials in particular, and it becomes not only delicious, but also amazingly cheap! The pumpkin curry is my favorite, with a thai iced tea to drink. The only problem is the tea goes down so quick, you'll need another one.

    (5)
  • Mal L.

Most authentic Thai in Utah Valley. Service is slow, so come at non-peak hours. Everything is delicious.

    (5)
  • Maren C.

Excellent food. I highly recommend the pumpkin curry, it was truly amazing. Our only complaint was that the waiter was inattentive, and seemed distracted even when I finally managed to get him to our table. No refills. No asking how we were doing. No check, even, until we begged for one. That being said, there's a lot I'd put up with for that curry.

  • Sara P.

Delicious, fresh ingredients. We got the appetizer sampler and it was delightful - everything was perfectly cooked and the accompanying sauces were super yummy. I got a lahb salad, which was spicy, but delicious. They do a lunch special for $5.99 for an entree and a side, so that's a pretty good deal. I will definitely be going back to try more!

  • John C.

Excellent food, awesome service. Just found this place today from a friend. Very impressed with the freshness of the food, the flavor, the presentation, the great service. We had 5 different items and the portions were rather large so we had to take them home. Definitely going back when I am up that way again.

  • Ijaz A.

We went for dinner there. Ordered Chicken Satay appetizer, Pad Thai, Rad Nah and Chicken Fried Rice. The peanut sauce that comes with the appetizer is the bomb! All dishes were very tasty and authentic. Will go there again. 4 stars because some items were not available and there was no smaller portions for kids.

    (4)
  • Angela W.

Love this place. The yellow curry is so good, but honestly don't think I've ever had bad yellow curry. I love this place because they will give you all you want of sticky rice and not charge you extra like all the other restaurants. I've never been disappointed.

  • Dascia E.

I've never sat down there and tried their food in the restaurant but I've had pad Thai 2 times as a "to go" meal. I have probably never had such dry pad Thai ever! I thought it was bland and it tasted like it was cooked the previous day. Also there were HUGE pieces of garlic in it, like half a clove pieces and it was not pleasant to bite on those :( So not a fan of their pad Thai. However the service was good and it came about pretty fast so I'll give them that. So for now I am giving them a bad review and I would never recommend this restaurant until I try something else and check if their other stuff is good. I'll give them 2 stars for service.

    (2)
  • Angela D.

Pad Me just wasn't that great. The pumpkin curry was really good though. The chicken in it wasn't cooked all the way so I just picked out the meat and it was great.

  • Justin G.

Just went to Thai Drift and it's my new favorite Thai restaurant in Utah Valley. I went with a big group, and three of us have lived in Thailand. The papaya salad was excellent, as was the Lahb with sticky rice. I would also recommend the Tom Ka Gai for a soup or starter. For entrees we got pad thai, massaman curry, and sweet and sour chicken. The latter two were great. Ever since living in Thailand, I haven't found good Pad Thai in america, so I didn't really like it. The atmosphere was nice and the service was decent. I'll definitely go back again!

  • Kelcee F.

Seriously. The pumpkin curry. Best curry in the valley. Nice, CLEAN, modern decor. Fast, attentive service. Try their Daily lunch specials. Classiest thai in town.

  • Jeff C.

Excellent! The food was very good we had Beef and Broccoli and Pad Thai with Shrimp. The restaurant was nice and clean and had a great atmosphere. The service was great they catered to our every need. The prices are good as well. The size of the dishes was smaller than I've had at other thai restaurants but you are paying 8-10 dollars for a dish. I will be back! Really good Thai food and you are treated very well. How did Orem get such good Thai food resturants?

    (5)
  • Rod S.

There's nothing cutting edge. The lunch special is a great value. I go there almost weekly for lunch. It's consistently very good. Thai is the new fad. There's places on nearly every corner. I've tried most of them, and I like Thai Drift the best. If you ask for the spice at a level 8-10, you'll get something that will leave your whole mouth tingling for a while. They have nothing full on mouth numbing hot. If you're like many locals, you can get everything made quite mild. Everything is cooked to order, so the ingredients are crisp and fresh. Unfortunately, like everywhere else, they use Chicken breast meat that has little flavor and is easily overcooked. Why American's seem to insist on this over thigh meat that has flavor and enough fat to keep it moist, I'll never know. The dishes tend to be Southern Thai, but so is most every other place around town.

There are several Thai restaurants in Utah County and this ranks right near the top for us. It's a strange location inside a bland strip mall, and the interior decor is a little sparse, but the food made up for any of the reservations we had as we sat down to eat. I love massaman curry and couldn't pass up the opportunity to judge a curry from a new Thai restaurant. I'd have to say that this might be my favorite massaman curry in Utah. The rice is perfectly cooked (and they even brought us another bowl when we ate the first helping). My wife loves Pad Thai so she tried the Pad Thai here at Thai Drift. It wasn't my favorite, but I appreciated the "fresh" taste of all the ingredients. There was a strong hint of peanut sauce which threw me off at first, but after a few bites I couldn't stop eating. Next time we are in Orem with a craving for Thai food, we'll stop in here. We came on a weekend night around 5:30 and there wasn't a single empty chair and a few people were waiting in line outside. That tells you something about the quality of the food.

  • Jason W.

Best Thai food I have found in the state. Get the massaman curry, you will not regret it one bit.

  • Joe H.

Not impressed. I had the chicken pad thai. It was bland, almost tasteless. I wanted to send it back especially because the peanuts were not there. But after setting the food down, the waiter went in the back and wasn't back for a good 5-10 minutes. I was too hungry to care so I gulped it down. Also got to taste the beef red curry and that DID taste like the real deal. Having eaten in Thailand and at a Thai places across the country, I can easily say that the pad thai was probably the worst I've had. Not that it tasted bad, it just didn't taste like Pad Thai. But the curry was great so get that if you're ever there.

I had dinner with my boss while visiting Utah. This was a family run business, the son looked like worked a building next to our office and he had come to help his parents after work to help out. We got seated and reviewed our meal and ended up ordering our meal. We started off with spring rolls, Galanga Coconut Soup (Tom Ka Gai) (this is not a personal portion), Pad Kee Moaw and some curry dish. The Spring roll was okay, the sauce was very sweet, not the same as the sweet chili dipping sauce, but i think the sweet over powered everything. The soup wasn't a personal size, so we shared, the soup was good. I was hoping they had drunk noodles, but had to settle for Pad Kee Moaw with chicken, which was okay... Overall the meal was good, but having visited other places, I knew I had better Thai foods. The decor inside is very modern and puts out that upscale look... I think prices on some of the dishes are higher then what it should be. I know I have tried other Thai restaurants around Orem, that I feel is better in value and taste then Thai Drift. As for the service, personally it was little slow for me... they didn't have lot of customers, but they didn't check on us often...

I had my first experience with Thai Drift last night. Because of the good Yelp reviews popping up for this strip mall Thai restaurant by my boyfriend's place, we decided to try some take out. We ordered Tom Ka Gai soup, spring rolls, and Pad Woon Sen, which were all fresh and tasty. However, we had ordered the Pad Woon Sen with shrimp, and there were no shrimp to be found in our dish. As we were eating, slightly miffed about our lack of shrimp, someone knocked on the door. It was an employee of Thai Drift holding a fresh order of Pad Woon Sen with the requested shrimp. They figured out after my boyfriend left with the food that they'd messed up the order, somehow got his address (from his credit card, I assume) and brought by the new order without prompting. So yeah, I would say Thai Drift definitely cares about their customers. And they make tasty food at a good price. What more do you need? (And I do realize that an attractive man just wrote a review of this place very similar to mine. Yeah, it's redundant, but I'm a Yelp completist. :) )

Zero stars- disgusting after disgusting dish was brought out- (1) uncle bens rice (2) pad Thai tasted like Gumby's poop (3) tofu curry was not pressed so it was beyond slimy and (4)the papaya salad tasted like an in n out burger with a little gasoline for flavor. This is not Thai food.

  • Kelly W.

I came expecting to get some kind of sketch dish, but, lo and behold, it was great! The food was quite delicious and the portions are PERFECT. Everyone there was so kind. It was a bit crowded, but I suppose that's a good sign! I had the Pad Me Ew (made a lot of jokes with the name) and it really made me realize that I like Thai food! Great experience. I deducted 1 star just because there wasn't very much communication on how the bill was to be paid or whether we were supposed to wait for the waiter to bill us. We ended up figuring out after a while that you pay up front. Can't wait to eat here again. Cozy, nice, and a definite Thai fix!

  • Allan M.

I couldn't give this place four stars, it was just too enjoyable to be inside. Our server was on top of everything, and I never was waiting. It is a beautiful place inside, and I was very happy with everything I ordered. I also don't usually get lunch specials, cause typically it means cheap, and not very tasting food, but i was pleasantly surprised with everything.

  • Aaron T.

The food was good, but not great. A little over-priced, but not bad. Service was friendly, I don't really feel the need to go back.

Couldn't get a table at Siam so I gave this place a try and I liked the soup, egg rolls and the Pad Thai was good not great but you can't beat the lunch special. Looking forward to trying the pumpkin or red curry.

  • Ali R.

Wow, never been that into curry, but I've been to this place now twice in one week. The prices are amazing and the quality of this food is phenomenal. I've been going to the location just off the Highland/Alpine freeway exit just South of the Maverick gas station. All the employees there are so awesome and have felt like their friend every time I go in. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

  • Steve C.

Fantastic. That's it in a nutshell-you should try this place. To elaborate, I live in Colorado Springs, which suffers from a dearth of decent Thai food. I come here every time I am in Utah to see family, and I love it-great, robust flavor and a uniqueness that sets it apart. It's awesome!

Had a great experience at Thai Drift the other evening. Ordered the spring rolls to start. They are handily rolled to perfection and the sauce was a great compliment. We ordered the Pad Thai and a curry dish and every thing was wonderful and served promptly. We have added this to our regulars list.

  • Joe S.

Food is excellent but the service here is always overwhelmed. I eat here weekly and it seems like they would come to expect a given level of people will be coming and to plan for it. The lack of service is made worse by the fact that there is no room for people to pay at the cash register or stand to be seated because the space is so small. I ordered to go last week and it was a 45 minute wait. When I got there there was about 20 people seated in there and only 2 servers for all of those people plus to go. They need to get some more help.

We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Thai Drift. The food, service, and atmosphere were great. The place is small, but it has a great setup with the available seating. They seated us quickly and got drinks out right after they got us to our seats. One important thing to me is refills. I drink more soda than is normal, and these guys were great. I always had a refill before I even finished my drink. We got the Thai Drift Sampler as an appetizer which has, you guessed it, a sample of all the other appetizers. I would say all their appetizers are delicious and this almost filled us up. As far as entrees go I tried the Massaman and Yellow Curry. Both were very delicious and they were delivered quickly. A lot of rich flavor in the curry that made every bite enjoyable. After we finished eating they did not hassle us at all with checks to get us out there, but let us sit and enjoy each others company. This seems very rare in the Provo/Orem area, but it made the meal even more enjoyable. I will be going back to Thai Drift very soon.

Food: I got the pumpkin curry and it was really nice. Kind of on the sweeter side. I prefer the intense flavor of indian curries, but if you're looking for something a bit lighter, this is for you. Atmosphere: Trendy, modern, dimmed lighting. Prices: Average... $10/plate maybe?

  • Curtis F.

I like the close proximity to my house but the food is pretty dang solid. I've had all of their curries and a lot of other menu items and haven't had a bad dish yet. Service is sometimes a bit spotty, especially when crowded, but the food is worth the extra wait

My new favorite Thai place. Great, always fresh, genuine service. Since I order different dishes - can't recommend only one... But try all the curries.

Love the Massaman curry here, but I like it sweet so be for warned. Pretty small, so their is like to be a wait.

That Drift is an unassuming Thai place nestled in a business plaza in Orem. It's a small location, but filled with tasty smells and lovely people. I ordered take-out for my girlfriend and me: Some spring rolls, Tom Ka Gai, and Pad Woonsen with shrimp. Upon eating the food, we discovered two things: A) Thai Drift food is extremely tasty Thai, and B) they had forgotten the shrimp on the Pad Woonsen. But item B was forgivable considering the tastiness...it was noodly and good. Partway through the meal, there was a knock at the door. The cook at Thai Drift had realized his mistake, cooked a new batch of Pad Woonsen (this time *with* the elusive shrimp), looked up my address based on the name on my credit card, and had it brought to my door. That's some damned impressive service. The Thai Drift website is a bit weak (auto-playing background music accompanying an incomplete menu), but that's no biggie. If you want to see their list of entrées, just stop by.

  • C. C.

I was extremely impressed with Thai Drift. It's every bit as good as Thai Ruby, probably better. I was seriously raving between bites. The pricing was very reasonable as well. They seem understaffed (like all new restaurants in this economy), but they make up for it in friendliness. I'm looking forward to going again. For vegetarians, they substitute tofu for any meat. They also do take-out.

  • Drew D.

I come here fairly often being that it is close to my office and its probably one of the top 3 Thai places in UT valley (there are more than you'd think). Good menu, almost everything is at least a 4 out of 5 in terms of taste. I would agree that their meat in general (not just the beef) is a bit tough/dry, but they sauce heavily so the flavor is okay usually. I just had the Pad me today and it was wonderful. I would have liked more veggies but the sauce was great. Sweet and tangy with a hint of heat. One small complaint that I would have had is that they never have their steamed buns! Now I talked to the waiter/owner today (yes the kid at the front who is the host, waiter is also the part owner) told us that they don't make them unless you call them in. So next time I'll call them in and add them to this review (i love steamed buns). All in all its a good place. Service is slow, but I usually go during lunch rush so I'm guessing thats why. I recommend it regardless.

  • Lowell S.

I love Thai Ruby! Great food, good prices (with an especially affordable $6 lunch special on weekdays), and friendly service. Modern, comfortable, unassuming atmosphere. I wish it were a little bigger, since for lunch it's quite often packed, but I'd hate to change too much. I cannot speak much to their noodle or stir fry dishes; I have not sampled them. But as far as the curries go, they're the best Thai curries I've tasted. I love the Red curry, and Massaman and pumpkin curries are great as well. Delightfully creamy consistency and smooth flavors.

  • Devin N.

All things considered, it was very nice, which is the best way to put it. Not stellar, far from terrible. My friend and I went for dinner here and were pleasantly surprised. I've eaten at a couple of other Thai restaurants in the valley, and this is the best one so far (although not the best in Utah). The food was good. I ordered the green curry with pork(a personal favorite of mine), and it was excellent. The addition of the eggplant made it that much better. It was just the right level of spicy for me- I could eat it but it still burned a little- without me asking. My friend ordered something with shrimp, which he seemed to enjoy. I will say the portions were a little small, but filling. The price was acceptable, most everything was under $10. Service was excellent. We got there a half an hour before they closed, and they treated us like it was no problem. Service was attentive, except at the end when we were trying to pay and we had to walk up to the counter and give them our card, but I excuse that because we were the last people there and he was working on closing stuff. I won't make it a staple, but I wouldn't mind coming back if I had to.

I lived in Thailand for a while, and I will tell you this is as close as you can get to the real deal. Every curry I've tried has been delicious. I like some out of the ordinary foods from Thailand, and they made them better than any other place I've tried in the valley. This place rocks.

They get four for solid tasty thai food. Tom ka is yummy, pad thai is great, som tam was decent. All of their curry was solid. Prices seem to drop for lunch (ate there for lunch and dinner) look for the lunch specials. Oh, they say their best item is some steamed bun, but they never have them?!? WTH? Seems very clean and organized. Good stuff.

Best thai food in Utah county. I spent the summer in NYC and my wife and I made it our mission to find a better thai spot, to no avail. This place is the real deal.

Best Thai food. I can't eat Thai anywhere else now!

I have spent over a third of my life living and working in Asia and have spent a great deal of time in Thailand. I love real Thai food. The Thai food here is very Americanized and quite sweeter than any Thai food I have ever had. We had massaman curry and something similar to tom ka kai. We had to ask for nanpura. It is still a decent place and the service was adequate. I think I will keep searching for a new Thai restaurant that isn't quite so Americanized.

The pumpkin curry is really really good, but everything else I have had there has been fairly mediocre.

Take-out from Thai drift last night seems to have "drifted" from its original level of quality. I'll try it again, but last night (monday night dining -- might not be smart so says kitchen confidential--) all the meat was even tougher and drier than we normally come to expect from Thai food, which doesn't seem to be too worried about tender moist meat. The red curry saved the day but even that seemed really short on basil. The pork in the pad thai noodles was at least 3 days old and the chicken in the satay was embarrassingly dry.

My husband and I frequent a lot of Thai places in the valley. So far, Thai Drift is my absolute favorite. Their red is not as spicy as others-it definitely has a kick, but has a mellow coconut sweetness as well. Their massaman is fabulous. I always get vegetarian massaman curry.

I don't know anything about Thai food, but this was impressive. I've probably had Chicken Satay dozens of times (may be the most commoditized 'Thai' dish out there), but the Chicken Satay at Thai Drift is memorable. Pumpkin Curry with beef was also worth trying. Massaman chicken - also solid. Highly recommend giving this one a shot since I'm sure the strip mall food in the area starts to blend together after a while... this one stands out.

I love Thai Food, and thaifoon at the gateway used to be my favorite, but this place blows it out of the water in both price and quality. This is one of my favorite places for lunch because you can get some of the best food for only 5.99. I have not been any day when the lunch special was not fantastic, either. So don't worry what day you go, just get the lunch special and you are good to go. They have mastered the spice levels too. Some places give you a "mild, medium, hot" choice, but their 1-10 scale is much better for when medium just isn't hot enough but hot is too much. So I get a 7. It is a beautiful and simple decor, I also recommend the curries. Particularly red and yellow. Enjoy, but get there a little early, it may be crowded.

Very high quality Thai in a quality environment. Prices are very good, especially for a Thai restaurant.

surprising that this place is pack. so I'm curious and went there. service, not bad for lunch. especially with full house. the food. hm. it is not bad, but its not thai food. I went there with 4 of my friends, so we tried quite a few of their items, and they look like thai food, but just don't taste it. for american who never had thai food and afraid of trying an authentic thai food, this is a great place. good but its not thai.

Probably the best Thai restaurant in Utah County. Lunch specials are great. Great flavor, quality food and friendly service. I eat there about once a week.

It's a tiny restaurant, but the food is really good. I've had better Thai before, but for the price this was hands down the best. My wife, two small kids and I ate plenty for under $25, and like I said, the food was really good. They have a decent-sized menu too, with lots of different types of options, so it should work for any dinner group.

I've been to just about every Thai restaurant in Provo/Orem area and this place is my favorite. If you are looking for beef waterfall get it here. Their other dishes are high average and just as authentic as the other restaurants in the area. I felt like the owner could be more friendly.

We came to Thai Drift because we had an hour lunch break. It ended up taking 15 minutes to get our drinks, and 40 minutes to get our food. I know a lot of people exaggerate about how long it takes to get served but I'm being completely serious on the time estimates. The service was awful, but the only server in the restaurant had to cover probably 10-12 tables that kept getting sat, and to be honest, he was busting his ass. The food was just ok, but I ordered the daily lunch special and it was only 6 dollars so for the price it was great. I probably wouldn't go back to this place unless I had a lot of time to wait, but it was mobbed with businesspeople so I'm sure it is a local hot spot. Overall the service was slow but he worked hard, and the food was just ok, not too authentic. Go there if you have time, if not go somewhere else.

Two words: Pumpkin Curry. :-) Everything on the menu is good. Atmosphere is intimate and chic. Gets slow when busy.

I love the food here. I have not had a Massaman curry that can match the creaminess and flavor of Thai Drift. The lunch specials are very reasonable at $5.99 and you even get a side. The size of the store and occasional slow service keeps me from giving it a 5 star rating.

We got the pad-Thai and the pineapple curry, both of which were OK. My wife did not enjoy the pad-Thai although she has not had very authentic Thai cooking. I thought it was good, however the last time I ate Pad-Thai I was in Malaysia, so hard to compare right? It was good, but decided for yourself.

i usually go on fridays for the red chicken curry lunch special. super tasty! the service can be kind of slow so thai drift isn't a great choice if you're in a hurry.
