Is it fast food? Yes. Does it beat the likes of McDonalds & Burger King? For sure. Are you still left wondering why you ate it afterwards? Unfortunately. Five Guys is there to satisfy your greasy burger craving. Pile on any number of toppings and add a huge side of fries (seriously, "regular" = massive). While the ingredients look fresh and the food tastes good while eating it, it's still a greasy gut-bomb that will leave you wondering why you ate it - until you go back the next time and do it all over. I truly do enjoy eating their burgers, but I never feel very good afterwards. It's just too greasy/fatty. Then again, some of the tastiest food always is... :/

This place used to be good, but the last few years the quality has just tanked. They just try to compensate for lower and lower quality by just dumping more and more fries in your bag. The "large fries" we got tonight was easily 3x the size of what a large used to be 2-3 years ago. I used to actually love Five Guys, ever since eating at the original one back in Virginia. If you want a good burger, this is no longer the place to go.

Great burgers and great fries. I love their Cajun fries and I love how much fries they give you. Like I said burgers are awesome, I mean you get to pick and choose your own toppings, how are you not gonna like the burger?

One of the very few chain eateries that always satisfy. From Virginia to Utah I have enjoyed a very tasty, juicy classic Hamburger with fantastic Fry's at a reasonable price. The help is always enthusiastic and the place is always clean and bright., unlike some other well known fast food joints.

Okay so it is expensive but the portion size and quality are worth it! I love this place!! My son likes to get grilled cheese and my husband and I love the tons of fresh yummy toppings they pile on our burgers! One order of fries serves our entire family of three!!

I read an article about the food selection process for Five Guys and I am sure it made it taste just a little better. My favorite burger, but my doctor says I can only eat here once a month. It's a good thing they don't require calorie information next to the food like they do in NY. 1400 for a large bag of fries.

I recently went here after hearing how it was so great. I was excited to see I could get a veggie "burger." Of course I put every veggie they had on it, minus tomatoes. I must say if you are in the mood for a quick meal I would check out Five guys. It is like in-n-out except the ingredients are a bit more fresh. I would say in-n-out is like the little kids meal and in-n-out is the adult meal. :) Also I really like that they have peanuts you can eat while waiting, I guess that is also a warning for all those allergic to peanuts.

I thought the burgers & fries were VERY greasy. It's not my favorite place to eat burgers.

I'm giving them a 4 star instead of 3 because the burger we had was actually pretty good. It was the double-bacon (always a hit). Sadly, I think the only reason I'm not giving it a 5 star is because I wanted a chocolate shake with my meal (maybe it was just that day...I don't know), which they don't have. Also, I'm not a peanut fan...so I didn't dig on those, but those at my table attacked them like crazy. All in all, great burger, good fries and cool atmosphere. May not be my 1st choice in a burger place, but it definitely is a good one.

The burgers were really good, I think all hamburger joints should offer sauteed mushrooms as an optional topping. But the place was a bit more expensive than it should have been. There's plenty of meat on the burger and it's better than you're average fast-food fare but not by enough to rate higher. And the fries are overpriced, you'll get a ton but save your money and stick with the free peanuts. $6 burger + $3 fries + $2 Drink adds up fast for one person. Each should have a dollar knocked off. I don't feel there's any reason not to go here, but I wouldn't go out of my way to stop by either.

It's what you can expect from a burger joint. Good burgers but oh so greasy. When I want a dirty burger, I'll go to Five Guys. But when I don't want to deal with the aftermath of a gut bomb, I'll find someplace else.

  • Ryan B.

Decent burger, but incredibly overpriced. I prefer many other burger places that are cheaper and better than 5 guys... but are still less than 2min away from it: smashburger, in-n-out, burger supreme I do like the topping choices, but of the 4 times I have gone, I end up putting on more than I should and regret it. It's just meh.

Solid food, depending on what you choose for your burger. You can really pile it on if that's your thing!

I'm going to echo what's been said: Good options for the toppings. I did enjoy the sautéed mushrooms very much. Overall though, I couldn't find anything that was amazing about this place. Prices were slightly too high for a burger joint since they didn't' have any combos (from what I could tell), but it's amazing that they were open today on a Sunday _July 4th_ in Utah. The guy who took our order was great in introducing the place to us, since we had never been there before and he explained the difference with the Hamburgers and Little Burgers. (2 patties vs 1 patty). We were also trying to get two orders of regular sized fries and he told us that one regular sized fries was probably enough to share if we weren't too hungry - and he was definitely right. But again, it wasn't the best burgers or fries I've ever had so it's not worth to drive from far to get the burgers here, however it's a decent option if you're in the area.

I have been meaning to visit 5 Guys since it opened. I was finally able to do so with my wife on Saturday night. I half expected an "in-n-Out Burger" type meal (which I am NOT a fan of) but was very pleasantly surprised with something much tastier and fulfilling. The burgers are generous and juicy without being greasy. The toppings are plentiful and there are a lot of options. For this genre of burger joint I really think 5 Guys takes the cake. Additionally I am not normally a fry guy. I hate going to restaurants that fill you up on something less flavor focused so you don't feel bad that the main dish was so small. The fries at 5 Guys, however, were tasty, original and something I would order specifically just to eat. The cost was great considering the amount of what you get and the ambiance was definitely fun, lively, and comfortable. This is my new favorite burger joint... sorry Red Robin...

This is my second Five Guys location I have been to and for some reason I was much more impressed with the food here. I went to the first location in Utah long ago, but my dad just couldn't stop talking about how much he liked this place so I thought I should give it another shot. I kinda knew what to expect going into it having gone to other similar style burger places but Five Guys is doing a pretty decent job cranking out some solid burgers and hand-cut fries. The burgers are large and well seasoned. The meat is definitely fresh. Just sitting back watching them grill that sucker up on the flat top it drool-inducing. I went with the "bacon cheeseburger" which is actually a double patty. (To get a single patty, I think you have to get the kids burger or something). The meat tasted great, the cheese was hot and came dripping out the sides. It was seriously an honorable burger. The cajun fries were pretty decent but for some reason I felt they could have been better. They tasted dry somehow, or over cooked. Still pretty decent thick, hand-cut fries that pair well with the cajun seasoning. I would definitely eat here again, and with the addition of the new movie theater across the street, this place will do just fine for itself. However, now that I don't live in Utah and rarely make it to the area anymore, I would never choose this place over my beloved Coney's down the street. They own my heart and my stomach.

Da best!!!!! I love Five Guys Burgers! I almost cried when I ate here for first time. it is that good. I always order Cheese Burger here.

Don't let the naysayers dissuade you from Five Guys. Sure it's a little pricey, but you gotta splurge once in awhile! Atmosphere may not be up to fine dining standards, but who expects that going to a burger joint? If you simply want a really good burger, and some excellent fries go to Five Guys. It's the best fast food burger in the Valley. (Puts In-N-Out to shame!)

  • Shaun B.

This place is not expensive. It's just as much as a regular combo meal at Wendy's. They put as much or as little stuff on your burger as you'd like and they don't charge extra. The fries are huge. My wife and I got a large fry to split, and we should have only ordered a medium. The burger meat is very fresh and the overall burger is very tasty. The only problem is the restaurant is very noisy. We went outside to eat but I had to stand by the pick-up area for them to call my number because there are not outside speakers.

Five Guys would get five stars from me if it weren't so dang expensive... plan on spending twice as much as you would at a more-pedestrian fast food place. That said, however, the burgers are absolutely superb. I'm not sure what they put in those things (aside from the toppings I explicitly request), but they're amazing. Five Guys seems to be compared to In-N-Out a lot, but I don't really think they're that much alike. The fries are completely different and the burgers have a different vibe. The restaurant was very busy when I was there (almost all the tables were filled), but service was still prompt. At $10.87 for what would have been a combo meal anywhere else, however, the service had better be good.

Terrible hamburger, even worse atmosphere. I wish I could give it zero stars. I suppose if you're comparing this place to chains like McDonalds or BK, it's better. But why on earth would you be eating at those places to begin with? After hearing a ton of hype about this place, my parents took my wife and I out to try it. I couldn't believe how crowded, noisy, and obnoxious the ambiance was. Among the worst I've ever experienced (and I eat out at lot). They need to cram in fewer tables, and kick out some of the people. In terms of chaos, it's actually far inferior to the bigger chains. But of course, Five Guys is famous for their burgars, not their atmosphere. And I was sorely disappointed. My burgar was a undersized, overcooked, and unremarkable patty. It was nearly lost in a sea of other (cheaper) toppings. I enjoy well-placed toppings, but not when they seemed to be used as distractions for other short-comings. Look, if all you eat is chain fast food, this place might seem good. But go to any random local hamburger shop (Sammy's, Purple Turtle, JCW, etc.) and you will see that Five Guys is terrible. Some of those places will be better than others, but all will be better than this pathetic travesty.

Great burgers, especially for a national chain. Definitely try the Cajun spiced fries. They're delicious.

One of the better burgers I have had in a while. I like the create your burger for the same price. The Peanuts are fun, if you like them . They have great fry's Overall, one of the better burger places around.

I found this burger to be good in terms of the varieties of toppings available (mushrooms, sauteed onions, raw onions, hot peppers, green peppers, hot sauces, and the regular stuff. The meat didn't taste any better than a wendy's burger (in fact, it reminded me of the taste of wendys). Fries I thought were good, not greasy. I prefer Joe's Cafe burger for a local burger.

  • Amanda C.

We love Five Guys! They have a huge selection of toppings so you can get a different tasting hamberger every time. The small hamburger is huge! And one order of fries feeds both my husband and myself. My favorite part is that you can order online and your food is ready to pick up when you get there! So convenient.

Any restaurant that feels they need to put "Zagat Rated" on every billboard, sign, and square inch of their building is trying to cover up their mediocre food with a rating they recieved many years ago.

    (2)
  • Jared C.

Best Burgers and Fries in the State! Some people says it's too expensive, but look at what your getting. This is not McCraples or even In one end out the Other. This is the quality of high end sit down restaurant. My only knock on this place is that they don't have shakes. Other than that go and get addicted!

    (5)
  • Nic J.

I love the taste of the burger and fries at Five Guys. Especially the fries! Cooked in 100% peanut oil and served in huge portions. Seriously, don't get anything more than a small serving unless you plan on sharing.

  • Scott B.

I have had many people tell me how great this place is, but I have to disagree. First off, I dropped almost $10 on a burger, fries, and drink. I got the Cajun fries, but I could get the same effect by carrying around a jar of Cajun seasoning and sprinkling it on fries from any burger place. While it is nice having your choice of toppings, having the burger mashed thin while it is cooking definitely did not help their cause. When it comes right down to it, the price is the real deal killer here for me. My wife and I can both eat at other, better tasting places for roughly what it cost me to eat here by myself. If the food had been better, the $10 price tag would not have been such a big deal, but it was just not that good. Besides, the place was WAAAAAY too loud. Sorry Guys, I won't be back.

  • Nathan W.

Great burgers and fries, but overpriced. I like In-N-Out a little bit better, and it is cheaper with amazing shakes (which warrants a 4 stars for me). Also, the hot dogs have a horrible flavor. And I am a hot dog connoisseur. You'd be better off going to J-Dawgs, or Hot Dog King. Or the grocery store for hebrew national, oscar meyer, or ballpark black angus, or a 7-11 for the Bahama Mama. The fries are pretty dang good though. I'm not a big fry guy though.

Since Steak Out went out of business, this has become my favorite place to get a burger in Orem. It's a little more expensive than other places, but it's a lot better.

  • Joshua C.

Really? This place is way overrated. There are posters on all the wall stating, best burger, zagat rated, top 5 burgers, ext... I wish that I have spent my 12 bucks on the movie theater on the other side of the parking lot... The fries are not great at all, just because they come in a oversized serving size of a cup does not make them good. I cannot understand how it has been getting such high reviews...

When this place first opened I tried going on three different occassions but bailed out too early as the lines were so ridiculously long. It's funny how often that happens here in Utah when a new hot place goes up. Burgers, in my opinion, are never worth an hour wait but now that the foot traffic has died down I gave this place a try. In my experience so far this is the best burger joint in Utah county. I was quite dissapointed when chadders (the in-n-out knockoff) went out of business in provo as I thought they had the best burgers around. This place definently beats chadders with their huge juicy burgers. All of their toppings are free so get whatever you'd like, however, you do have to remember to let them know of even the most basics like ketchup and mustard. Everything is made when ordered so its all fresh off the grill. Their fries are really good too and they give you way more than any sane person needs. It's a little bit more expensive than I would normally like to pay for a burger joint but it's location and style make it a step above traditional fast food.

    (4)
  • Matt H.

Another great 5 guys!! The place was rocking busy when I got there, but they still got my burger and fries done fast. They are always so friendly - obviously they make this an emphasis - and this place was no exception. This location definitely has more seating than some others I have been to. I like the location next to the movie theater and all the other shops in the area. Check it out if you are in the area! Easy parking and great location.

I have eaten at many Five Guys locations thru the years and never been so let down.. The location is in a good area, looks like any other and seems nice but... I get inside and there's only one other customer who's already ordered and sitting while he waits for his meal but some how it takes 20 min for my food to be ready.. Either prices have recently gone up in general or the location charges more cuz I don't recall ever paying so much for a bacon cheeseburger and drink. I saw my bun and extras sitting for 10 min while the meat was being cooked.. I finally get my burger and take a bite into a over done burger with burnt bacon... I love Five Guys usually and always order the same thing but would have preferred paying less and eating some shitty McDonald or Burger King burger than what I got here.

    (2)
  • Marina L.

Good burgers for sure. I do love all the options they have. Fries are very good as well. It's pricier than McDonald's for sure but quality speak for itself.

    (4)
  • Connor R.

Okay here we go. 5 Guys is the best burger joint around, bar none. The quality of meat they use is noticeably better than the competitors and you can taste the different. The cheese really stands out as fresh and delicious as well. I've had a lot of burgers in my life and 5 Guys is up there in my top 3. Surprisingly they have really really good hot dogs as well. It's like a party in my mouth every bite, except a hot dog party....Ok so anyways the food here is really good. The fries are amazing as well, their fry sauce is delicious. You're going to pay for the quality here trust me, it's expensive for a burger. Everything is sold separately. Only problem is they don't have shakes which sucks. But oh well, this place is damn good.

  • Sammy H.

I don't think I've had a better experience at any burger joint than at this five guys. Jared gave the most outstanding service and showed leadership capabilities I've never seen at a fast food chain. If you're ever wondering where to go get a burger go here, especially for Jared.

    (5)
  • Taylor R.

Way overpriced. 13.63 for a burger fries and drink. You're better off eating at In 'n Out.

    (1)
  • Ryan G.

Can't go wrong with 5 guys! Their hamburgers and hotdogs are great! This location is really busy but we didn't have to wait long at all. They get the food out quick which was good cause we were going to a movie right after.

    (5)
  • Dave B.

Very customizable with more options than you'll know what to do with. Its right by the movie theatre so you might as well...plus where else can you eat that has bags of potatoes about to be made into french fries?

    (4)
  • Aaron T.

Five Guys has really great food and a wide selection of toppings. Has a pretty basic menu, although not as simple as In N Out's. The prices are what will kill you. A double cheeseburger costs 8 bucks, and then you have to pay 3-5 dollars more for your fries, and then you need a drink - there are no combos. You're easily spending over $10 per person.

    (3)
  • Aj W.

Great service I was helped by a girl named Katie I believe she is the manager. Her crew is awesome! They sure know how to get you fresh food fast!! What a fun Burger Joint!!

    (5)
  • Angel M.

Definitely better than any other fast food chain...they bring potatoes from different farms and burgers are savory. It's a god location cause you have the movie theater and the mall next to it. They don't spare on fries, even if you get the small ones you'll have plenty.

I ate there not to long ago and I did enjoy there food. If your looking for s really healthy place this is not it it's a hamburger joint, its not super expensive I spent 10 $ and was filled

Love them Five Guys burgers! First time I went I made the mistake of ordering a regular size burger. It was so big it made nearly 3 meals. Now when I go I order the junior size cheeseburger. It's still huge like the size of a adult size at any fast food place. Super fresh beef & fresh cut steak fries with the famous fry sauce we "utah'ns" love! Great burgers, choice of many toppings on fresh buns with overflowing amount of fries.

  • Gifford L.

The current king of burger and fries chains ever since Fuddruckers left our state. Burgers- The flavor of the meat is amazing, the buns while not the best don't detract from the experience and I like choosing toppings. Fries- The fries are like a good home made fries, a little salty for my taste but delicious. Portions- The portions are hearty especially the fries making it a good value when comparing the price to other fast food joints. The place is food porn, when you walk in you can feel your heart beat slow and the capillaries of your lungs clog with french fry grease, so not a place for anyone on any sort of diet but it tastes very good.

  • Kara N.

This was my first time going, and my husband said that it was good the last time he went. But I wasn't too thrilled. The burger was okay, and the fries were kind of gross. They had no flavor (and we ordered the cajun fries), and were soaked in grease. Even my husband was disappointed. I think I would've enjoyed it more if it hasn't cost so much. Next time I want a burger and fries, I'll be going elsewhere.

  • Katy B.

Best burgers I've ever had. And that's a big compliment because I love burgers and have eaten at a ton of different places. Granted, I really enjoy thick, juicy, dripping burgers with like, zero veggies and lots of cheese. If that's not your taste, you probably won't like it. (And hey, you can add veggies if you want, I just don't). Overall, they're super fresh, never dry, and made to order on the spot. The Cajun fries are also delicious, especially with fry sauce and/or malt vinegar and there are a ton of them. I love how they have the sign up notating which farm their potatoes came from that day too. It's just a small thing, but it makes me feel better about them being fresh. They're also super fast (even when they're busy) and the servers are friendly. Definitely not your average fast-food joint staffed by perpetually annoyed teenagers. Definitely the best quality and for a great price.

Service is awesome. Food is good. Prices are right. Just turn the music down eh? Yikes.

  • Rod S.

Better than a fast food burger, but it's still all about the toppings because the burger doesn't taste like meat. The fries are bountiful, but ordinary. I don't get it. It's obviously about getting a pile of fries and lots of toppings on the burger. The meat doesn't taste beefy. They have to cook it well done, and by definition it's not juicy when it's well done no matter what they say. The fries are OK, but that's it. I'd rather have good quality than big quantity. I suspect that's why I'm not the target demographic. It's crowded and noisy. That's not a plus for me either. I'd rather head to it's smashing competition or have one at a local cafe. I can't justify the higher price over a decent fast food place.

  • Joey J.

Best Burger joint in the state! I'm so addicted to Five Guys right now, so glad we finally tried it! I normally get the single bacon cheeseburger and it's plenty big for me. The cajun fries are AMAZING and the serving size Regular is plenty big for two people! The amount and quality of food you get for the price is great. Finally a place to enjoy actual fresh cut potato fries cajun spiced or not! I LOVE Five Guys!

This is my favorite burger place in the Provo/Orem area. The bacon for the bacon cheesebugers are always cooked perfectly. They have a lot of different toppings for your burger if that's what you're into. The fries are very delicious. They have peanuts to snack on while you're waiting for your food, even though it is never a very long wait.

    (5)
  • Chris D.

They don't have the best burgers I've ever had, but they sure are great nonetheless! The patties are always delicious, as are the the many fresh toppings they have to choose from. The fries are great. I'm not a fan of cajun fries, but my wife LOVES theirs. Service is always great, and, given that they have FREE peanuts (still in the shell - which I love), the place is always pretty clean. The price is a little higher than some other burger joints, but luckily here, you get what you pay for.
