Got an order to-go of their lunch special that came with yellow curry, jasmine rice, fried spring rolls, and tom yum. It was an appropriate proportion and a good deal at under $8. Although they could definitely use a bit less sugar and salt in the curry, everything was above average in the taste department. Will return and let yall know.

Best Thai Food in Utah!!!! I Looove the papaya salad and I like it Thai Hot (personal choice), chicken satay and sticky rice. Got to have it everytime we visit Utah. My husband love the massaman curry with beef and the yellow curry with chicken. Go to Bangkok Grill ... It's outstanding and you won't be disappointed.

Just so everyone knows, they advertise closing at 930 but will close as early as 845. So your Thai cravings will have to wait for another day or place. I've been going to this place for years now, this visit will be my last. Poor customer service, eye rolling and lack of professionalism. I'm a bit disappointed because it one of my favs. Sorry guys, I'll be going elsewhere from now on. Customer service is so much more important than you may think.

I love this place. Good options are the Pineapple curry (especially with a little extra heat), pad thai, red curry, and my kids love their orange chicken. The food is always fresh. It never disappoints and we have been going here for years. I try to bribe them into giving me their recipes but they don't go for it.

Been here maybe 5 times in the last few years! It's 4 stars based on PROVO/ Utah scale. This would be less stars in LA. My favorite part of this place is the seating, it's like cushioned seats that imitate sitting on the ground ( but not). Vair fun. Food is fine, service is fine (expect to wait for your food on bust nights though).

We ordered three dishes and I tried each one: pad thai, yellow curry, and pad siew. They all taste slightly bland. The flavor seems correct, but also kind of like someone it's trying to make Thai food for people who are offended by new flavors, or they only had half add much spice as each recipe called for. I'd you know someone that refuses to try new foods or is extremely unadventurous with what they're willing to eat then recommend it to that friend.

Great lunch special! $6.95 got me a pad grapow, tom yum gai soup, and gyoza. The gyoza was alright, but the pad grapow and tom yum were both delicious, and well worth my money. I'd recommend this place if you're in the mood for Thai and you're in the area. My one criticism is a little more attentive service would be appreciated. Our server was MIA a lot of the time.

We have had Thai food in many States and this has been our favorite by far. The food is so deliciously flavorful. We eat here almost every week. The staff is so awesome.

We went to dinner here on New Years Eve so we waited a long time for anyone to take our order and at least an hour for any food. The Massaman Curry, Pad Thai and Tempura Vegetables were delicious! Save room for the Mango Sticky Rice and order an extra one to take home for later... Outstanding! Would have 5 stars if we didn't have to wait so long.

Came to Orem from Denver and went to Thai with the family. The food was decent but definitely far from even good Thai food. We had 8 of us and ordered 6 dishes and shared them all, and I tried them all. The curries are good, we ordered the yellow and panang. The pad Thai was pretty good too. None of the food is very well plated or fresh and a lot of the colors are dull with overcooked veggies. Also the service wasn't great, they didn't fill our water until after we were done eating and weren't too concern with our experience. The reason they get 1 star is due to the physical contaminate in our food. ROCKS!!! Three of them!!! In our pad woodsen which is a bean sprout noodle dish. And not small grainy ones 3 or 4 millimeter rocks. My mom bit into them and said she thought she chipped her tooth. We talked to the waiter who talked to the chef and said that sometimes gravel gets into the noodles from where they get them from and that in the 10 years they've been open were the second people. However were the only to have multiple. But 3 ROCKS!? Come on! Needless to say, we only got one dish free. So if you don't mind biting into rocks in your food, then you should have a nice experience.

Very decent Thai food. I had dinner here around 7PM on a Thursday night and it wasn't very busy. There were probably less than 10 customers there. The two servers were friendly and very prompt. Several times both servers stopped by and asked me the same questions just moments apart from each other. The atmosphere was nice; I liked the sunken tables with the individual cushions that you had to climb into. (If you are worried about not being able to climb down into the sunken tables, they also had quite a few regular tables as well.) The food was good, but far from the best Thai I have ever eaten. I had the chicken satay and the red curry. Both were satisfactory, but not amazing. I would gladly eat here again next time I am in Orem, but I won't rave about them or go out of my way to recommend them to others.

From the outside, it didn't look promising, but the Thai decor inside lifted my hopes. If you have troubles bending and lifting your legs, choose a table instead of the booth. We started off with the "fresh rolls" and Gyoza. Both were typical but the "fresh rolls" came with four whole rolls. The Massaman curry and Pumpkin curry came fairly quickly after the appetizers. The portions weren't enormous, but were more than plenty to share with my wife and two daughters. Disclaimer: I absolutely love curry. Both dishes were outstanding and met my high expectations! To close your meal, I highly recommend the mango and sweet rice with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

This is my first time here but my wife is in love with everything she's tried on the menu so far!

Went here with some co-workers. I think the highlight of the meal was the tempura veggies. I love dipping the crispy zucchini, carrots, and eggplants in the sweet chili sauce. Totally delicious! The Thai tea I ordered was too sweet and expensive at $2.99. For the entree, I had the $6.99 lunch special with yellow curry, tom yum? (hot & sour soup), and a chicken satay. The chicken itself was dry but had good flavor even without the peanut sauce. The curry was alright, nothing memorable. The soup had a strong ginger base that I am quite fond of. If I'm here again, I will definitely get the tempura veggie and the hot & sour soup.

I had the drunken noodles here. They didn't ask how spicy I wanted it. I like it pretty spicy, I was a little disappointed. They sat us in a booth where it was hard to get in and get out (you understand why if you go). The appetizer of pot stickers was good. The service was ok and the price was right. Nothing truly special about this Thai restaurant.

This is by far my favorite Thai restaurant around. And I have suffered some pretty terrible Thai food to bring you this information, so please have some respect. I have had my mind blown that curry dishes at other Thai restaurants have little or no flavor, are overly sweet and have practically no heat. I like my Thai food spicy, and Bangkok Grill does it right, just make sure they know you want it spicy. They probably aren't used to that request. The veggies and meat are also very fresh. I love their Thai fried rice and their crispy egg rolls in addition to the standard curry dishes. I had a client, who moved to NYC two years ago, tell me today that she still craves this place. Service isn't always super fast, but still attentive when it's packed. Other reviewers seem really bothered by the service/waitstaff, and while I have never been blown away by my experience, I have never had a terrible experience either. It's worth it for the food! We have had positive results doing takeout here as well..

Meh. This place is pretty average. It wasn't awful but far from the best. Prices were decent, except for the appetizer. 6 bucks seemed a bit much fire the Thai dumplings, but they were pretty good. I got some dish (mee grob?) With thin crispy noodles and stir fried veggies and beef. The husband got beef pad thai. Even though he asked for shrimp. Evidently the server missed that. No biggie, he would have said something but we just wanted to eat. My biggest complaint: everything was way too SWEET. It had no spice in anyting even when we asked them to make the pad thai a bit spicy. I don't mind a little sweetness but it was too much even for me. OurServer for the most part was decent until we asked for the check. She never came back and after 10 minutes and no sign of her anywhere we ended up just finding someone else to help us. All in all, not the worst. Prices were decent, portions were decent. Probably wouldn't go back though. Should have gone with the curry.

Great place for a quick lunch. I as a little disappointed that they put the pepper dry on top of my curry rather than deliver it mixed in.

Thai is my favorite food group, and this is my favorite Thai food in Utah. Truly, it's delicious! I especially love their massaman curry :)

  • Anais M.

By far my favorite Thai restaurant in Utah! The Tom yum soup is sooo good! I go there often for the lunch specials and sometimes I crave it so bad I just go by myself. That's cool though, right?

  • Aimee G.

We were really looking forward to some great Thai food, but it was totally forgettable. It's not that the food tasted bad, it just didn't taste good. The chicken in the Pad Thai was overcooked and hard, the flavors were not very strong. My husband's dish wasn't any better, as it was supposed to be really hot and spicy but wasn't. The service wasn't good either. They seemed like they were bothered that there were people there who wanted to eat. It was like we were in the way.

  • C. C.

I just went to Bangkok Grill for the first time, and the food was good on the whole. The pumpkin curry was fantastic, but the Paneng curry and fresh springs rolls were average. The decor and overall atmosphere is lacking, and the staff seemed awkward. I'll give it another shot, but I definitely prefer Thai Drift or Thai Ruby.

    (3)
  • Don L.

Very good. I suppose the four stars are very relative to what else is available here. My only complaint would be the lack of cooking with the chilis, but using them as an additive. This is something that happens very often here (and on some dishes, may be the way it is in Thailand, for all I know). But, when I cook hot, I prefer to add the spices (as I do the salt and pepper) in the cooking, not at the table. So, it's my complaint. BUT, I love, love love, their wonderful treatment of Beef Waterfall Salad. Beef isn't boiled, it's pan seared, and the fresh cilantro and basil and whatever else it is make me happy beyond belief. Ok, I smother it in the chili spices on the table.

A fairly good Thai restaurant - would recommend it to Thai-food lovers.

The Pad Thai at Bangkok is the only Pad Thai I will eat. Anywhere else is a sad attempt at Pad Thai, but this is the best by a long shot. I either get the Pad Thai or the Yellow Curry. They're both absolutely divine and I would consider doing some morally reprehensible things for them. The Veggie Spring Rolls are fantastic, and the peanut sauce they come with is so delicious I'm often tempted to stick my straw in it and have at it. The Thai Iced Tea is wonderful, and the desserts are really, really awesome. The staff is always really nice, and know exactly what they're talking about. It's a good price for the amount of food you get. Best Thai place in Utah County, and probably in all of Utah.

I do not understand how this place has a four star rating! I will never go back. The food was so awful I could not even eat. The service was bad too. The waitress would run away before you were even done ordering. Save yourself and pick another resturant

Having lived in Thailand, people always ask me what my favorite Thai restaurant is around. I tell them Bangkok Grill. These are the reasons (dishes) why: 1. Naam Tok (Beef waterfall) 2. Phad Grapow (Pork with basil) always Thai style with an egg on top. 3. Tom Kha Gai soup If there is one server, the service can be slow. But, it never stops me from going!

    (5)
  • Jase L.

Great food, lousy service! Called in a single order of Som Tom at 8:49 and they said they were closed and unapologetic. I use to be a regular, but not anymore.

  • Lisa C.

Honestly the best Thai place Utah county has to offer! I went to Thailand and this is just as great, if not better. The lunch special is such a awesome deal, don't forget to get their punch card. I'm a big fan of the Thai tea and their tasty fresh rolls. . We love Cindy and Richie.

When visiting family, my mom and I seem to end coming here a lot. And I am very glad we do. The food is always good with lots of flavor. I always start with the veggie spring rolls. I love the peanut sauce that comes with them. I usually order the yellow curry with chicken as the entrée. It is always hot and full of flavor and they don't skimp on the chicken. I sure I will be back before I know it.

This really is the best Thai Food around. I've been to probably 20 in Utah an this one is the best. Great atmosphere, amazing Phad Thai (That's generally how I judge a Thai restaurant) and THE MOST AMAZING Mango Sticky Rice. Seriously try it. I love their Tom Yum or Tom Ka soup too. Very good. Service is great too!

    (5)
  • Benjamin A.

Agree that this is the best thai food in utah valley. The portion sizes aren't always as large as other restaurants, and the service isn't always quick, usually only 1 or 2 servers for a 20 table place lunch or dinner. But the curries are usually as good as anywhere.

    (5)
  • Nate B.

The best Thai lunch option in Utah County. Their Tom Yum is the best anywhere, and the curries and sticky rice are excellent. I would do 5 stars, but they always seem to be running understaffed and the service is often slow. Food is 5 stars. Service is lacking.

This is a fun restaurant. The seating is kind of cool (parts of the restaurant have these bench thingies. Yeah, it's just neat. The servers are bad. It took 10 minutes for us to order last time, and since we knew exactly what we wanted when we sat down, that bordered on ridiculous. My mom had to go find her own box since the waitress was so nonexistent. To be fair, she appeared to be the only one working at lunchtime on a Saturday. But still. The pad thai is phenomenal and the pad see ew is also pretty freakin' delicious. I just don't ever want to have to deal with the waitstaff ever again.

  • Abby W.

I love Thai food, and this place is satisfying. Their Gang Dang is fantastic, as is their Pad Thai Avoid their Tom Ka Gai, or as we call it, "baby vomit soup" (seriously, don't get the soup.)

    (4)
  • Matt V.

They have a great lunch special, $7.50 for app, soup, and entree. Aside from the typical dishes try the Beef Waterfall and Guaytiaw Haeng (noodles) here. Service can be a bit slow when they are busy, but usually good.

    (4)
  • Kristal D.

I love the food here. The price is right and the Pad Thai is my fave in the valley. However, the service isn't great. There used to be twice as many servers but somewhere along the line things changed and for the last year when I go there are 2 waitresses for the whole dining room. Their lunch specials are the perfect amount of food and the Tom Ka soup is really exceptional.

This is more aimed at their customer service. We went their this weekend with a couple of our friends and had a horrible experience with one of the managers. The women with us ordered Orange Chicken(I dont know why you would do that at a thai place) and it was disgusting. My yellow curry and my friends Massaman curry were delicious though. Anyway, the orange chicken was not decent and we brought it up with the manager. She seemed to take personal offense from the comment and refused to serve us anymore. We were told we could not get a refund for the food because it was cooked to standards even though it was no good. Finally we were able to talk to a waiter (the manager refused to talk to us) who comped one of the orange chickens from our ticket. Again the curry was good, but dont get the orange chicken or count on decent service.

    (2)
  • Candace E.

I LOVE the pad thai here. I get the chicken and I love that it is good quality white meat chicken with no gross tendons, veins or anything like that. She uses lots of onions and paprika which I think is so delicious. I also love the Tom Yum soup. I could eat it by the bucket! It's go a fresh, verdant taste with flavors of lime and cilantro coming through brilliantly. The service leaves a lot wanting though, and that's why I can't give it five stars. I always wait to get seated even when the place is empty, it takes more time than it should to get your order placed and forget drink refills. If they could get that together this would be a home run for me.

Everything I have tried here is delicious. Can't go wrong by finishing with the Mango Sticky Rice.

Favorite Thai in UT Co This was my first Thai restaurant tasting and thus has been my measuring stick. I love their Massaman Curry lunch special for $7. The lunch special includes a soup (Tom Ka) daily curry special or Massaman and either satay or egg rolls. The restaurant atmosphere is rather cheap and during lunch you'll find a ton of business transactions going on at different tables Other good thing to try is the beef waterfall. The description sounds terrible on the menu but I've never tasted such unique flavors all together at once. TIP: Go for lunch, try the Massaman Curry special, rub Bhudda upon your departure.

This place has some great Thai food. I didn't even notice it at first, it doesn't stand out hidden in a strip-mall off State street but it's definitely worth checking out. The daily lunch specials are great, chose an entree, soup, and side. I wasn't huge but it was filling and a great deal at $6.95; besides I'd personally pay a reasonable amount and leave with a full stomach rather than pay too much and leave overfilled with leftovers (they never taste as good after being microwaved. The lunch is good with no "filler" like cheap fried rice or anything like that. The green curry (Wednesday lunch special) was recommended by the waiter and was well worth it, the spice was just right with a side of hot chili sauce to add heat to your personal taste. I like the Thai addition of a bit of coconut to the curry, the first time I had Thai it was a bit different but the curry here has just the right balance to add an exotic flavor to he curry. The lunch had the option of the veg roll or satay and I don't think I'll ever get around to trying the satay because the rolls are delicious. The service is a bit slow but the place was nearly full at 1pm mid week with only two servers working. Even so I was in and out within an hour so I wouldn't really consider it to be a big problem. This is probably the best Thai restaurant I've found in the Utah valley. If you can't decide what you want for dinner or lunch stop by and try it out.

Ordinarily I might've given this place 3 stars since the food was yummy, but not spectacular... about on par with several other local Thai places (e.g., Thai Chili Gardens). However it earns an extra star for the outstanding prices on the lunch specials: $8 for a meal with a small appetizer, soup, and main dish. The seating is interesting... each table is completely surrounded by built-in benches with per-person bum cushions. Acceptably comfortable, but unusual. The service was a little slow at times, but certainly not terrible.

Love in my tummy. Best lunch menu around. Great food, great service, fun seating and interior decor. They make an awesome yellow curry and egg rolls to die for. The lunch menu was good on price and even better in the tummy. Check it out.. break out of your utah shell. :D ooo and try the Calamari.. its perrrfect.

  • Jessica P.

For Utah county, this place is pretty tasty. I would definitely recommend it over some of the other Thai places in the area. The service can be hit and miss, so don't go there in a hurry.

    (4)
  • Jason W.

This is by far the best thai food I've had! Lunch specials are perfect and they're priced like fast food. My only complaint is the service: sometimes you are left waiting a long time before being helped or being served your food. Servers sometimes forget to keep your drink full. But I love the food so much that I still go there despite the wait!

    (4)
  • Ryan T.

Lots of Thai goodness here. I love it! The employees are very competent, and some are very friendly. The atmosphere is enjoyable but the real selling point is the food! Panang curry is my favorite!

  • Dan W.

Great food, lousy service. The Pad Thai with Duck was Amazing. We also got an order with Chicken and a Red Curry. Everything was really good. The service was pretty bad, though. I've had worse experiences, but few and far between. The waitress brought us one too few place settings, and failed to bring it any of the 3 times she promised she was going to. We ended up stealing a place setting from an un-occupied table. We basically only even saw the waitress the 3 times, once to seat us, once to take our order and once to bring us our food. We had to go to the front to pay the bill. Maybe takeout is the way to go here.

  • Ryan P.

Some of the best Thai food in Utah County. The lunch specials are great. I forget the Thai-named foods, but the coconut-based soup on the lunch menu is awesome, and their curry is excellent. The only thing I find lacking about this place is the ambience. It is really boring inside. But for whatever reason that is pretty run-of-the-mill with Thai restaurants around here. I prefer food over ambience, but it would be nice to have a place that offered both.

  • Casey J.

I'm not going to say that I know a lot about Thai food. But what I will say is that everything I've tried here has been delicious. Can't wait to go back.

  • Sherry W.

I've been to this place many times --- and I love the food! I know they've changed owners in the last year or so --- and the food changed as well. But like most restaurants --- whomever is cooking determines hou the food is going to taste that day! The Coconut Soup is sooo good ---every time! Sometimes the service is great, and sometimes it's a little laced --- but that's not going to stop me from eating there!

    (4)
  • Adam B.

I asked what noodle dish was best and was told pad thai. I have had this dish at minimum 100 thai restaurants and it was just average here. There were huge strips of onion which I found strange to have mixed in with the noodles. Flavor was a bit off although they certainly provided a lot of noodles. The place is kind of dark and depressing too... I wouldnt go back here.

Delicious! I love Thai food and this is my favorite restaurant! I even drive down to Orem from Highland to eat there with friends. Papaya salad is awesome - but I love just about everything!

I've been to quite a few Thai places in Utah, but none of them beats Bangkok Grill for curry. I was surprised at first that it beat out pricier locations, but their consistent quality keeps us coming back. I'm sure the rest of the menu is solid too...I just can't bring myself to branch out.

    (5)
  • Revoir D.

The food is excellent--authentic, flavorful and fresh Thai. I think it's the best in Utah County, though I have had better in other places. My only complaint is the service. They are consistently under-staffed and you're lucky to see the waiter three times: once to order, once when your food is literally thrown on the table, and once for the check. For re-fills and order corrections, you will have to tackle a member of the wait staff as they dash by. If you can get over the spotty service, the food is worth the wait.

    (4)
  • Jan G.

This is my absolute favorite place for Thai in Utah county, and one of the best lunch deals in town. The service can be really slow at times, but they are quite prompt on their take-out orders. The food is tends to be a bit on the bland side (for Thai, that is), but they're always happy to perk it up for you if you ask. I've tried just about everything here, and absolutely love it all!

Great lunch specials, and reasonable prices.

  • Dan P.

Actually, I believe this place is called the Bangkok Grill now. I have been here many a time and have never once had anything short of a flavorful, exotic experience. I have never actually been to Thailand, nor do I consider myself an expert on Thai food, but I do know food in general. And this, my friend, is some tasty food. The price is reasonable, especially if you go with some friends and have everyone order one thing. They bring out large platters of each thing you order, making it easy to share with everyone. Try something from every page of the menu, and you're in for a treat! The desserts are very very tasty as well. I recommend the sweet rice pudding (not what you're thinking) or the fried banana ice cream. Mmmmm....and usually I don't even like bananas in desserts. Decor is nice and the staff is friendly. Give em a try!
