we go here every so often, but this last time was above and beyond, Clay was our waiter and my husband and I liked him from the start. he could recommend anything we asked, from drinks to desserts, he was prompt, very good at keeping my water full (I was having a camel night for whatever reason) I would actually notice him kinda peak around at our table then run to grab the water jug cuz I was empty. . . . EXTREMELY friendly and pleasant to have wait on us, food was great, I prolly wont get the coleslaw again , unless I have a cabbage cravng but it was good. but really I was just so grateful for amazing service. Clay is definitely the right guy!!

We heard this place has pretty good fish and chips so we decided to give this place a try. It was chill back weekday late night dinner. Not many people in the restaurant. We were greeted and seated right away. And our server was a sweet lady. Alright, let's talk about what is good here first. Crab stack salad! It comes in small fancy portion and costs about $14. Since it was ordered by my fiancé and it had onion on it, I would not touch it at all. My fiancé did mention how delicious it is and the best one out of all the dinner. Definitely recommend the Bruschetta. Six cheesy parmesan toasts, sun dried tomatoes and fresh basil leaves soaked in olive oil, and creamy goat cheese. The topping tasted fine but the toasts was soggy. The toasts were just some frozen toasts which came out of the oven way too fast. We did told server about it and she apologized. The worst was the fish and chips! It wasn't crispy. The meat was dry. It tasted like it has been in the freezer for a while. And it costed $20! Movie theater's $12 fish and chips tastes better than this! Pago's high end $13 delicious fish and chips is so crispy that the outter shell crumbles in tiny pieces! Yeah...it was ok. I heard the Red Rock Brewery's history and how great it was back in the day but it definitely didn't live up to its name for us. Now I am craving for some Pago's fish and chips.

Nice place to eat. Clean and plenty of room for the kids. Kind of like a much nicer Chili's. The drinks are a little on the weak side, but given the area, it's understandable. Can get a little loud since it is so big, but nothing that would bother you. Great for after work group functions or meeting some friends. Food is simple, but fresh and good. The staff are friendly and fast. Parking and location are ideal.

I feel sick to my stomach as I write this but I am holding on, hoping these mussels aren't the cause of my dismay. Ugh! Great location and service was good, but this menu is always all over the place. Exactly what kind of restaurant is Red Rock anyway? Our seating was a bit awkward and probably a fire hazard because of the way our table was positioned between an aisle and patio door. I had to get up twice for patrons and then at one point, a hurried waiter accidentally brushed me off of my seat. And then -- What is up with the mussels? They have... mustard? Was that supposed to be butter? I am disgusted just thinking about that fishy combination paired with an acrylic yellow mustard seeping out of the mussel appetizer. Bad news all around. There's a stank about them, one that I cannot get off my hands. Currently: Feeling doomed. The chicken with macaroni and cheese was also another bust as it clashes with a chipotle-esque chile sauce and is cause for gagging. The waitress was very nice about taking it back as we tried to explain why it was terrible. Kudos to her, but my god, who is coming up with this menu back there? I usually get the turkey burger which is one of the few establishments in town to offer it. Calamari is also good here, but it will be a miracle if my next review isn't from Intermountain Hospital with a bout of serious food poisoning.

Great French onion soup. Love the mozzarella appetizer. Chicken parmigiana was good but not the best I've ever had. Tiny bit bland for my liking. Food is usually always good. Service is a much slower pace than I am used to. Don't go here for a party. This place doesn't service parties all that well. I've suffered through 2 failed attempts.

Red rock brewery has been around since 1994. It seems like the Fashion Place location was their third site behind downtown and the resort community of Park City. The purpose of this review Is to write about fashion place, the Red Rock location situated in the middle of the Salt Lake Valley. Fashion place mall is an enclosed shopping mall anchored by Dillards, Nordstrom and the Container store. With all that shopping going on, you'll find Red Rock is a terrific place to get off your feet and enjoy a good meal and a few beers. Offering a nice selection of craft brews, try to drink your way from light to dark and you'll be having a fun post shopping experience. My choice is chicken Parmigiana and a German style Hefeweizen. There is a sampler platter of beers so you can run the spectrum of their offerings. The servers are always attentive and helpful with a recommendation. Another nice perk of dining at Red Rock is free valet parking with your meal. This parking tip alone is worth a fortune during the peak shopping season. Clean and well-kept, the decor is brewpub contemporary - they've done a nice job the bathroom fixtures. There are seating options at the bar, high-top tables or even window seats and watch the shoppers go by. Most people don't opt for dessert after drinking beer but I must say if you have the family with you, they might enjoy one of their killer pieces of cake. Next time you're having a shopping experience at Fashion Place, finish your day at Red Rock Brewery. Better yet, let your wife shop and you can hang at Red Rock - you'll enjoy it. Salute!

We had an unusual waiting time. I bought a sausage pizza... And this thing came out. Ummm did they microwave the pizza? Not a part of it is toasted. Really the grossest looking pizza I've ever seen. It tastes pretty awful too. The crust has no flavor, the sauce tastes like spaghetti sauce and isn't made for a pizza. The pepper was overpowering and whatever "sausage" was there, I couldn't taste it. I think they bought the mozzarella from Walmart it had a strange taste and consistency. And take pizza's off the menu. This place has no right to ruin people's pizza experience. A pepperoni hot pocket would have been a superior product to the poor-quality and il-thought product I received. Save your money and go somewhere else. Really bad experience.

Have been here many a time for yummy food and brewskies. Tried their brunch for the first time and was not disappointed. First off, $2 mimosas- yes please! Devoured the eggs benedict. The potatoes were also really flavorful and not your traditional house potatoes- loved the addition of onions and cheese. Tried some of my friend's chicken fried steak & eggs- also delicious.

The BBQ Turkey Burger is delicious--and it comes with fresh-cut, huge fries. Or you can sub the famous (and rightfully so) onion rings for an extra charge. I've never been impressed with the pizzas here (lots and lots of cheese and just no memorable flavors), but that turkey burger is where it's at!

No waiters were harmed during the making of this review. I tip good even with bad service. The way I look at. I can have a horrible day at work. Treat my employees bad, my clients bad and my pay doesn't change. So why should it for waiters? Onto the review. My main pet pev with restaurants. Drinks. I want a something to drink with my food. Beer empty ask if I want another. Water empty ask if I want more. The more beer I drink, the more I spend, the more you make. This waiter sucked at checking on drinks. All drinks were finished on the table of three before the food even came out. Manager came up to check on us drinks still empty. And did nothing about it. Now at this point curiosity got the best of me. I should have asked for more because I was thirsty. But I had to see if anyone there would do anything about it. No one did. We finished our food. Got desert. Never asked once if we wanted more water, or beer for that matter. I would expect that lack of attention from a waiter time to time. But from the manager as well. I was shocked. Food was ok. Beer good. Dessert ok. Service. Meh

We had a great experience at Red Rock. We stopped in for a quick beer and a few nibbles before making our way to a movie. Their Oatmeal Stout (Nitro) was excellent and so creamy. We were able to snag a bottle of their holiday seasonal " The Griswald" which was down right delicious and mighty potent as well. 4 of us shared a handful of items: Mozzarella Cheese Sticks (triangesl!), House Pickles, Bacon Brussel Sprouts and a baked cheese dip. Everything was tasty, came out timely and held us over til after our movie just as we expected. Our big was like 50$ for 4 beers and a couple of appetizers, so not too pricy, but not cheap either.

This Red Rock location is very inconsistent as far as service goes. I have never had to wait for a table here as there is plenty of seating even when it's busy. The host staff is usually rude and generally annoyed by your presence. If you don't mind sitting at the bar I highly recommend it here; you will get the best and fastest service and the menu is the same. It's nice to have TVs, but all are very awkwardly placed and they never seem to be tuned to an event that you would be interested in (except at the bar). There are so many tables with varying heights which guarantees that you'll be bumped into at least once during your visit and you can pretty much forget about enjoying a beverage spill-free if your seated in one of the two tables next to the hall where the bathroom is. Red Rock earns their stars with the food. I have to praise them for paying close attention to the market and making significant adjustments to provide a better menu. In the past their attempt to be unique just came out weird and then it looked like they were just ripping off Squatters, but now they've hit a stride. The beer is getting better, the specials are usually great, the new fries are awesome and I no longer have to scour the menu looking for something normal that is not served in a strange sauce or a "woodfire pocket." I'm also very excited that when I order a sandwich it comes with fries that they don't charge me extra for and they don't show up hanging out of some ridiculous apparatus as a serving accessory. Red Rock is doing it right; good food, good craft beer, and a great location. Two of us come here fairly frequently and we plan on spending roughly $30 each with entree and a couple beers. It's a little pricey, but we usually leave happy and having eaten way too much.

Their $2 mimosas and bloody mary's at Sunday brunch will cost you less than a Coke. Not that you should abuse such a offer...but you could even if on a small budget. The rest of my party went with the Eggs Benedict but I went with the Eggs in Purgatory and wasn't disappointed. If you like a little spice, I'd suggest it.

Don't get anything else but the Kobe Beef Burger, it is worth returning multiple times. It's only $15 so there's no point in even getting the regular burger cuz its $10.50.

Nice open environment. Dig the beers for sure! I had the Nut Brown on draft and the bobcat nut brown in the bottle. I ordered the rotisserie chicken which was really yummy. I subbed the waffle sweet potato fries for $2 extra and they could have been good but came out cold, almost like they had been sitting around. The bar tender, Jason, (I sat at the bar) is adorable and has provided me with great service. If it were not for the waffle fries not being on point I would give a 5 star review.

Awesome beer. My favorite so far is the Nut Brown. It's a must to try there Mac n Cheese. The best I've had.

Ok, so I have been waiting to post a review for some time to make sure I had it right. It's time! Red Rock is a great place for an after work drink or Sunday brunch. $2 mimosas are a great buy and the bruschetta is amazing. Service is good and now that they are an official "bar," high point are a big plus. If you are in the area, well worth a stop in.

Surprised by the quality of both the beer and apps. Came with a group of 4 to grab a bite of something to hold us over til Copper Onion. We each ordered a beer and then shared the Mozzarella Cheese Sticks (which were actually triangles), Bacon Brussel Sprouts, a Baked Cheese Dip, and House Pickles. Everything was awesome and plenty enough to satisfy our hunger--with a little bit left over as well. Service was great too. Highly recommend the place!

Wifi is free but doesn't work which is why I called ahead to ask. Their beer is tasty- I'd recommend the honey wheat and the Hefeweizen.

Service has definitely improved as of my visit this past Sunday. Our waiter was super efficient and funny. He did a great job checking up on us and kept the mimosas coming. Can you really just have one when they're only $2/each? That's crazy talk. My diet didn't just consist of liquids during this brunch though. I love Eggs Benedict and Red Rock did them well. They were accompanied with some crispy potatoes topped with cheese that were a perfect pairing to my creamy dish. Thanks, Red Rock.

The fried calamari is delicious and comes out fast. We also ordered the red rock burger (served on pita bread and aioli sauce) it took a really really long time to come out (turns out someone stole it...?). The burger was ok, not great, bland and not much aioli sauce. Service is good ambiance is ok.

We recently visited this restaurant for my sister in-laws birthday dinner. The atmosphere is more on the pub side, not a real family restaurant. The prices were a bit high for the service and you couldn't really make any substitutions. It was just alright not the best but I have had much worse. Sorry this review is more wishy washy then usual.

Epic beers, great food, good service, and even their hours are better than most in the Surrounding area. Which in Utah and the greater SLC area is very unfriendly for the Pub-going crowd, or Bar scene in general. Highly recommended to anyone who loves great beer , pizza , sandwiches , and appetizers.

    (4)
  • Sarah C.

This is my fav brewery. The bruschetta is unlike any other place and the hot wings are the best in Utah . Kinda weird, but I love the appetizers and a nut brown beer better then anything else here.

I like their lunch menu. Pork belly slider is great. Also their beers are great. I always appreciate the $2 mimosas on Sunday too. The service if you sit at the bar is great. Now, the regular dinner menu is not great. I ordered the pizza. It tasted like cheap frozen pizza from the grocery store. Not impressed by the dark meet chicken. Lackluster (bbq?) sauce and cheap cheese. No flavor on any of it. The mozzarella sticks/wedges were good. My wife can't even remember what she ordered. That's how much she liked her dish. My daughter got the ice cream. She liked hers. Haha. Not the toughest critic perhaps. Overall not impressed by their dinner at all. Mediocre. Go for lunch. Sit at the bar. Have a beer and the pork belly slider. Or the buffalo chicken sandwich. Don't go for dinner.

You just cannot go wrong with their Halibut fish & chips! The best I have had in the US! I have been to this location multiple times and have never been disappointed in the food or service. Tonight I ventured beyond my standard fish & chips (the best ever by the way) and we had calimari for an appetizer, which was good. But I also tried the French Onion soup which was some of the best I have had. I was not a big fan of the spicy pickles, but they weren't bad, just not my thing.

This place is so average, yet it's a popular suggestion when friends are suggesting a place to meet. I had soup and salad today. The soup was tasty but too stringy with cheese. The Cobb salad was awash in bland vinaigrette (I forgot to order it on the side) and the chicken was not fresh. Once we were seated (one of those times where they make you wait for 5-10 minutes even though there were plenty of vacant tables in sight) the service was prompt and our water glasses were refilled often. Update: I am pleased to say that after reading my post the manager wrote back addressing each one of my concerns. Very professional. I will give them another try.

I have been to this restaurant a handful of times and I'm more impressed after each visit. Not only is the food awesome but the service has always been beyond great. I get the feeling that the employees actually care. Servers are always hustling and the "man bun" wielding Busser always is working hard. I really enjoy and recommend this place!

  • Vida A.

Update Time! Ok so I frequent this place often, mostly on weekends to take advantage the $2 bloody mary's. The past two time we have been here, we sat on the patio taking advantage of the great Fall weather. Well bad idea because service is non existent. Literally both times, we waited for a server to greet us, bring out our food, forgetful, just honestly wondering if we were being served. Makes me not want to come here anymore. Food is decent but seriously service needs extreme help.

The house salad with their house creamy garlic dressing is REALLY good. Fresh greens, cucumbers, tomatoes and criss cut carrots. The eggplant parm is pretty good as well. My only gripe was the cheese they sprinkled on the spaghetti. It had a nacho cheese-like profile. Not the flavor I want with eggplant parm. Completed the meal with the Red Rock brewed root beer float. Near creamy perfection. Service was pretty good.

Been wanting to try Red Rock and decided to go for dinner on a Friday at this location in the mall. My boyfriend and I were not impressed. The menu was lacking in variety and the place had a very "mall" like atmosphere and felt way less like a brewery. The beer was just okay. Overall I would not recommend; it was like being at a downgraded chilis.

Went for brunch for Mother's Day on Sunday. We love the food great atmosphere but slow service we go their few times a month. And most of the time is great service for the Down Town location is the best!

i came here last week and it wasn't quite as good as it has been in the past. they do have an extensive gluten free menu and i appreciate how they listed their gluten free cocktails. my bf got the red rock burger with coleslaw and sweet potato fries. he thought the coleslaw was too sweet, but enjoyed the rest of his meal. i got the wild mushroom polenta and it was average. not amazing, but not bad. honestly it kind of reminded me of a frozen dinner. our server was very nice, but seemed super busy and didn't come check on how our food was after it came out. it also took a long time to get our check and when i asked for boxes that took another 10 minutes. overall the food and service was average. i probably won't be coming back based off my most recent visit.

Arrived at 10:35 in the morning for brunch. Our food didn't arrive until 11:40. Our kids' food was burned and the breakfast sandwich tasted like garbage. Will never come to this location again.

I'm surprised to see so few stars here. My husband and I have come here frequently over the year and it always strikes us as weird that there is a two hr wait for the Cheese Cake Factory when Red Rock almost always had tables available and the food is better than the CCfactory. The beer is great. Some of the dishes are amazing, others less so but still I've never been disappointed by my meal and the service is GREAT!! Try the steak salad. Sooooo gooood.

My daughter wanted to go here to lunch (she has not been before). So we went. Had an AWESOME waitress. The food was delicious. The wait time was minimal. Yummy $2 mimosas. We had a wonderful lunch.

It was just ok. When we first sat down we got appetizers and the food runner came out and we asked him for something and he turned around and said "I am not your server". I liked the environment but I got the New York steak and it wasn't that good. But appetizers and environment is why I give it a 3 star.

Came in today for a coworker's birthday. Overall, not too bad of a place. I got the lasagna, which actually turned out pretty good. They make their own sauce and it was delicious. Serving sizes aren't huge, and it's not a cheap place so I kinda wish the portions were bigger. Atmosphere was laid back, service was fine. I left satisfied, but not by any means blown away. I give it an average rating.

RedRock is a local brewery with 3 brewpub locations at the time of writing, one in downtown SLC, one in Park City and now this one in the Fashion Place Mall. It's nice to have a little local flavor among the many national stores and chain restaurants that generally adorn any mall. I've been here a few times and it's been a good all round experience each time regardless of size of party and despite the fact some visits have been at busy times on a Friday evening. While sometimes there is a wait to get a table to eat, they have a decent amount of seating near the bar where you can wait and have drinks and even though it's meant a change of server from there to a table it's been handled well the times we've done it. Staff in general have been helpful, accommodating and service is usually relatively fast. No real complaints there. The food is typical gastro pub style and portion sizes are very good for the price. They have some decent appetizers, including Calamari which is actually rather good, and a good selection of entrees including the infamous Red Rock Burger which is always a good option if you're not feeling more adventurous. Pretty much all the food items I've had here are of decent quality and seem to be good value for money. It of course be remiss to not mention the beer, and for those who like to indulge they do have a great tasting and varied selection and all at very reasonable prices compared to what you pay in most restaurants. If beer is not your thing they also have a full bar and of course the usual complement of soft drinks is available also.

Excellent service. William is an earnest and considerate manager who is involved in the local craft brew scene and strives to make his customers happy. I appreciated his understanding today.

Upon entering, our hostess (a VERY unsmiling purple haired lass) begrudgingly led us to our table. It seemed as if we were interrupting her from doing important sitting. In most places, even Dennys, they ask us if where we are sitting is ok, our even a preference... Not here. We sat for five minutes before being seen to at all for drinks. The waiter, a nice enough guy I'm sure, showed us the specials and beer menu...on the WALL behind us. To where we would have to stand or perform Exorcist style tricks to see. (Corporate - shell out for some menus and/or a specials board.) It THEN took TEN minutes to have our waiter come back for our order - to which I informed him of dirty silverware. Because it's loud, he had a hard time hearing, and we couldn't hear him well either. Corporate: A note to your managers that would be awesome - let them know to tell their crew that while on shift, it is EXTREMELY rude to sit and loudly talk with customers, even if they are your friends. This isn't social hour, this is a job. I then observed some busboys cleaning an adjoining table. It had been a family, 2 adults, 1 toddler. Food, of course, was everywhere. The busboys hurriedly wiped down and picked up a few items from the table, then wiped and cleaned the FLOOR, missing several amounts of leftover food, then proceeded to clean the TOP of the table with the same rag. (Seriously?) Update - our table LITERALLY has hair hanging on it. Current food wait time: Twenty minutes. I ordered my second beer five minutes ago... Still no sign. Two minutes later, food arrived. On the menu: -Rotisserie Chicken: Dry. Definitely overcooked, and previously frozen. The fries, touted as steak fries, are Ore-Ida, and I'd swear on that. -Reuben: Juicy, yes. But mostly fat and gristle. -Pizza: While it does say spicy... That shouldn't be the only thing that makes it memorable. -The fried Halibut: The best of everything, actually. Which is not saying much. At $20 though... It better be. The beer: I had an Amber, which wasn't too bad. Little flat. But not bad. Definitely not the best I've had. Then a Honey Wheat - that was actually tasty. Definitely not too sweet, prefect wheat taste... It would probably be better suited as just a wheat ale. The entire experience wasn't bad. But the service needs some MAJOR overhaul, and the kitchen needs to NOT use frozen EVER and focus on quality. Essentially, the owners or managers need to remember this is a service based industry. And the customers are who you serve. Improvement needed.

I am from out of town but we met up with family at Red Rock. I had the BBQ pork roast sandwich and sweet potato fries. Great sandwich in a pita type bread. I liked this as it wasn't messy and was easy to eat. The pork and BBQ sauce was very good. Service was very good and the waiter was very informative about the menu. He was new and seemed to have done his homework. Nice place, nice food, nice atmosphere, great company.

Great burger and steak fries! First time having a burger in a pita pocket (no bun option available) and was pleasantly surprised. The burger patty was not too thick or too thin. Fries were crispy... I'll be back. Service was bland/standard (waiter wasn't overly chipper or rude).

Tasteless food!! Went with 11 people and had 11 different dish and they were all tasteless. My steak salad was $17 was so blah. I still can't believe I paid that much for that salad. I would never come here again.

I've always loved Red Rock For The Food And Beer But The service is what makes them stand out above the others. I hosted a surprise party and was thrilled with the superb service I received from Angel and Brooklyn. In fact the whole was in on the surprise!

Come on, your service can improved. Waited and waited to be served at a very non crowded bar. After making eye contact x 3 with the wait staff and half a beer consumed it was time to walk out without ordering lunch

I tend to prefer lunch over brunch. The French onion sandwich is my favorite, but the salads and pizzas are good too. Lasagna is always a big hit with my table mates and so are the onion rings. Pass on the Buffalo chicken sandwich. I've ordered it a few times, and as a native Buffalonian, it makes me sad.

I love this place! I am a long time fan and have enjoyed their warm goat cheese salad, fried green tomatoes and delicious beer for over a decade. I was recently served by Dylan, who was charming and efficient. Salt Lake City has too few really fantastic servers and I just wanted to give him props for making a good impression. Big kisses, Red Rock!

Table of 11 and none of us were impressed. $20 for Alaskan halibut fish and chips and what came was 3 small pieces and very small handful of fries. Since I was still hungry I tried several other people's food and wasn't impressed with any of it. Steak salad for $17 was very disappointing. Asked for plate of more fries, was given a nasty look and brought a tiny butter dish of fries. Tasteless food!! Too expensive for what you get.

There is nothing about Red Rock that I don't absolutely love. The food is excellent. The BBQ turkey burger with sweet potato fries is my favorite. The beer is great, the service is great. Everything about this place is consistently amazing! Love!

  • The Hungry T.

I don't know what was worse, the food or the service. In a nutshell: The food was cold, drenched in grease, the steak was fatty, tough, and overcooked (asked for medium), the fries were hard and stale, and the cheese was rubbery. The server never asked if we needed a high chair so we had to walk around the restaurant to find one (and couldn't). It almost offended me that at the end of it all, I was still handed a bill.

  • Nicole G.

I've been to both locations and I prefer the Fashion Place locale. It's got a larger feel to the dining areas and so far, the food has been better prepared at this one. I love their steaks, but my favorite dish has been their Red Rock burger. It's served in a pita type bun, so the emphasis is on the flavor of everything else about the burger, rather than the bun. And it's amazing! I love the carrot appetizer and the onion rings. The fried green tomatoes weren't great, but maybe that's because I expected something different (I lived in the south and remember them being saltier and not tangy, but I couldn't say if that's the proper way to prepare them, just what I prefer). The beers are great here too, but I'm not a beer snob so I wouldn't be the best judge of that! In all my visits the servers have been fantastic.

We only came here for the drinks so I can't attest to the food but the service was fantastic. Specifically, our bartender Dave was great. If you want some drinks go to Red Rock!

My employer takes us out to eat here once in a while, and I groan a little inside every time we decide to come back. I guess it's because the food is pretty good. No doubt, it is pretty good, and the ambience is unique. The service is consistent at being horrible though. Every time I go, something gets screwed up. The servers don't know their own menu. Without fail, someone has to send something back to the kitchen to get fixed. One time the server actually dropped a whole tray of food en route to our table. I get it, that stuff happens, but when something goes wrong every time you visit a place, you start to lose your sense of understanding. Decent (but not special) food, horrible service. Two stars. I would never choose to go here.

Just went in to Red Rock for the first and last time. On a business trip and was looking for the closest brewery. Went in alone and sat at a dirty bar. No problem, people must have just left. Bartender cleared down after a few minutes and asked if I knew what I wanted, said no, have never been here before. He pointed to the names of the beers listed on the wall and walked away. Tough to know what you want when the wall is just far enough away to be able to read the beer names correctly. More over, I'd like to know a little about it. Annoyed, I went to the website on my phone to find out about the beer. Sat there while the guy next to me got served and had his beer halfway gone. I had one picked out, but no one to order from. Waited about 5 mins. That's enough. If the bartender can't take a minute to tell me about the beer they brew or find out what I like, or take my order in a timely manner, why bother waiting?

I had the salmon. It was quite good. My son had the Flatiron Steak. It was good too. Service was good too, but nothing was great. I would go back again, but I wouldn't go out if my way.

The menu looked fantastic, but the food and service certainly wasn't. Went off their daily specials. Friday around lunch time, after the rush. The broccoli cheddar soup was disgusting, it wasn't creamy but broken down and lumpy. When we asked our waiter what he would recommend, he replied I don't know never had it to multiple menu items. Way to go"Ian" Mr. Obviously I hate my job. Ignored out table, no drink refills, how's you meal?, need anything? Forgot our bread after asking for it more than once. Had to ask other servers if they could ask him to come to our table. Our Appetizer came after our entree by 10-15 minutes. It was revolting! Greasy, over cooked, very dissatisfied. After pointing out the obvious about the discusting appetizer Ian tells us we're ignorant and tries to tell us the cheese is suppose to be greasy and make the bread watery because it's a ale cheese. Um, had this kind of cheese at better locations. This is NOT normal. It had spoiled. We politely asked to split the ticket and he still lumped it together, there were only two of us not a huge party. It was insult to injury to have to pay for the remainder of the bill after the appetizer was taken off. Ian was the worst server I have ever encountered. A 15% tip was generous but left anyway. I will never return! Overall far too overpriced for lousy horrible service and minimal decent food. Both of us felt unwell as if we had food poisoning! Avoid the (mussels) or any seafood! It appears to be a fun and unique pub, however it turns out to be one more declining mediocre "Mall Restaurant" that depends on ignorant foot traffic customers to stay afloat! Food one star, service minus -2.

Red Rock Place gets an extra star just for being a non-national-chain restaurant at Fashion Place Mall. This area is a wasteland of mega-corporation food dispensaries and none of them are very good. The food at Red Rock is consistently good, as are the beers. Their wine list is okay. The service is good. Just like the downtown location, there is nothing here that makes me Ooooh and ahhhh. It's just good. That's all. The decor here is more hip and a little darker than the downtown location. The patio is huge, which is great! Except the day we were here, they hadn't gotten their umbrellas installed yet, so it was HOT and MUGGY! Overall, I'd give them 2-3 stars, but I'm giving them a pass for being "new" and allowing them some time to work out the kinks. Plus the extar star for being something LOCAL!!

Meant to be a quick rest and bite during holiday shopping. Service and food disappointing. Chop salad dressing bland, soup lukewarm. Sent that back for a warmup and took so long I would have gladly cancelled for time sake but waiter was rather distracted throughout meal. Wouldn't go back, sorry.

Food was good, beer was great, & service was excellent. Being a family with a big double stroller, a 1 year old, and 1 month old, the greeter didn't think twice and new exactly where to seat us. Our server Autumn was not only welcoming & professional, but also shared suggestions & prompt service. I came to try their beer variety, and low & behold, there were 10 Red Rock-made brews for me to try. At only $1 per taste, I was in heaven. Going light to dark, my palate croscendoed to an excellent trio: Amber Ale, Nut Brown, & Oatmeal Stout. Previously unfamiliar with this beer maker, Red Rock will now be on regular rotation during my stops to the State Liquor Stores. On the way out, even decided to grab a 64oz growler of Nut Brown for the holiday weekend!

I hesitate between two or three stars, so, I give this place a 2.5. First of all, the food was just mediocre, certainly nothing I would write home about. I did enjoy the coleslaw as it was differently made with a red wine type vinaigrette. The portions were very small for the price. $13 for half of an already small rotisserie chicken with a handful of green beans? The waiter was less than attentive and we had to flag him down to get an order in and get our check. I wasn't impressed. Unfortunately, we found two hairs on the $13 rotisserie chicken and though they were quick to replace it, usually when that type of embarrassment happens, the meal is on the house. Not this time but, oh, well. We are a GF family and the options are not plentiful but we have learned to expect that often. Needless to say, we won't be returning for the food. It is a pub so maybe the drinks are worth it? *I* won't be recommending this food joint to anyone.

Very so-so. Overpriced, in my opinion, but the red rock burger in a pita pocket was pretty good for $8.99. Girlfriend said the portobello sandwich was also tasty for under $10. Everything else is upwards of $15, I think the most expensive was like $25. Fries were good, I always love steak fries. The burger was a little dry so I asked for more aioli sauce it came with but I swear the waiter brought me mayonnaise cause it was white, and it looked nothing like me friend's side of aioli he had. Thus, I was forced to use ketchup. Came with tomatoes, lettuce. Good meal for a decent price but I don't think I'd go out of my way to come here.

-Mother's Day Disaster- T'was mother's day and to mine and my brother's mistake, We failed to make a reservation anywhere to take our mother. Along with a trip to fashionplace mall, we decided to try and stop in somewhere and accept the anticipated wait.

My wife and I came here at about 4 in the afternoon, we were seated and then we sat for 15 minutes. No one came, the waiting staff clearly saw us, but never came iver to get a drink order or introduce themselves. It wasn't busy, there was only one other table occupied. We walked out, so I can not review the food unfortunately. It's a shame we were both very excited. Perhaps another time, but not anytime soon.

Good beer, good food, good service. When we're over at the Fashionplace Mall, we almost always stop in here. The fish has always been fresh, the sandwiches have always been great, the portions are good. Some of the items (both from the food and drink menu) seem over-priced, but there are some good options that are priced well.

I have been a fan of Red Rock for years, so it's hard to write a negative review for them but this Red Rock at Fashion Place is just such a disaster. We have enjoyed the downtown location since the mid-90s. It's clear this restaurant is under different management. About the only thing that went right was that the beer is still delicious. A 30-min wait was actually an hour, though empty tables dotted every section. When we were finally seated, the server carded my parents, who are in their mid-60s. I expect to get carded occasionally but this was ridiculous. She used the excuse that this was the crazy Utah liquor laws - it's not, and memo to Red Rock, this is terrible for tourism to do this. Don't make up stories to your guests about how minors dress up in gray beards. It's insulting. 4 of 6 dishes were missing ingredients, poorly prepared, or just wrong; they did remove the raw fish sandwich from the bill, so we did appreciate that. Bottom line, this was our 2nd extremely negative experience at this red rock, out of two visits. There's no way we would ever return.

I went the first time for lunch and it was delicious. I got the shrimp salad, which was absolutely delicious. It had sweet potatoes and grapefruit mixed in, which sounds odd, but worked. The service was great. I went back again last week and was disappointed. The service was slow and they messed up a few orders on our table (we were a pretty big party though). This time around, I had a BBQ chicken pizza that was okay; the chicken seemed a bit dry. A few people at my table got the turkey sandwich and weren't impressed.

Met up with another group of friends during our visit. Always a great standby and glad that there is a location in Fashion Place. We used to wat at the location downtown when we lived here and found this location to be just as fun and convenient. Fabulous for kids. Waitress took the kids' order first and made sure their food was out quickly. This gave the adults time to review the menu and talk for a bit longer. The food was tasty and cooked well. They even gave me double vegetables when I opted to not haverice or potatoes. My daughter recommends the peach cobbler for dessert.

This is one of our favorite go to places. They have great innovative craft beer on tap and high point beers in the bottle. The staff has been helpful and courteous every visit we've had. The food is excellent, I dare say some of the best I've had. I just wish they would bring back their macadameon nut encrusted salmon. The have great dishes with fresh goat cheese. If you get a pizza it will be cooked in brick fired oven, very tasty.

Well considering that I live in the great state of Utah and full strength deliciousness is far and few between. This place has some amazing bottled full strength beers and the food menu is adequate for people with all taste buds. Along with daily specials you cant really go wrong. Try the stout

Waited over 35 minutes to get food. Manager tried to tell we had only been waiting 10 minutes. Food came 5 minutes after the table next to us received their food even though they were seated 10 mins AFTER we were seated and our order was taken. Better yet 2 out of 3 of our meals were prepared incorrectly when delivered. Then the table next to us gets a full comp on their meal because the spaghetti sauce was too spicy. And us? Nothing but attitude.

Love this place! Great beer and great food. A lot of gluten free and vegan options mixed in with other good pub food. My favorite are the barbecue chicken pizza, the stuffed mushroom app, turkey burger and the roast chicken. The quality is great and the service is friendly. Love the seasonal beers, the elephino IPA and the $2 heffs!

I work in Fashion Place so Red Rock is certainly on my favorites list while on lunch breaks. I have some issues with Red Rock, but mainly it is an enjoyable place to eat. The staff (with a few exceptions) is great and the atmosphere is really cool. I like to sit at the bar, watch some TV and see the cooks preparing the food. The menu is alright... I've tried a few things I wasn't crazy about but then found the spaghetti. It's my favorite thing to get and is only 9 bucks. I also am a beer drinker (also known as a normal person) so I like to try and get different beers every time I go. That is, until I tried the Special Bitters. Now I can't seem to get anything else. During the summer they have a good patio to sit on, but obviously wont be good this time of year.

Decent. Ordered the fish and chips along with a growler of nut brown. The growler situation was weird cause I couldn't drink it @ the restaurant so I had to kill a half gallon with dinner. Challenge accepted red rock. So minus the beer problems the service was decent. Ordered the fish and chips. Cod instead if halibut cause I'm low class like that. "Chips" were just steak fries. The fish was battered well but almost too big of clumps to be proper. Not too shabby tho honestly. malt vinegar on hand so it helped. Price was a bit steep but not a game changer.Mediocrity all around

Yelp, please give us half-star options so I can give Red Rock Place the 3.5 stars it so righteously deserves. Amen. The Red Rock Burger is definitely my favorite thing on the menu. I like that they serve it in flat bread/pita so I don't feel like I'm getting big, bun-only bites, and I like substituting the carrot chips for the fries so I can feel like I'm making healthy life choices as I simultaneously order a second beer. I've never been disappointed with this particular dish. I think my primary beef with RRP is the service. I'm not sure if the servers just aren't paying attention or what, but it seems that I end up repeating every request several times. It takes two or three return trips to get that glass of water or extra napkins I asked for 15 minutes earlier. All in all, it's nice to have a brewpubby place in this area of the valley.

Getting to eat at the new Red Rock Brewery at Fashion Place has been the culmination of many long months of waiting, wondering and hoping the place would actually open. I'll be honest, I was expecting a large extravagant Sistine Chapel like fresco painted on the ceiling based on the year this place was under construction but alas it was just a solid color. But not to worry because the food was well worth the wait. If you haven't been to one of the other two Red Rock Breweries its a upper middle price point table service restaurant with a large and prominent bar/brewery element to it. To say this locations dining room is spacious would probably be an understatement. The tables and dining room goes as far as the eye can see and there's a decent size patio with tables for sitting at. Matter a fact, the smallest element to the place is the bar area, so don't be scared off by the brewery moniker... unless of course the bar at Chili's or Applebee's offends you. The menu is very comprehensive. There's a number of sandwiches, salads and entrees to pick from. The sandwiches come with a side and all seemed reasonably priced from 7 to 10ish dollars. The salad also are in the same price range. The more complete entrees start around 13 and go all the way to the mid 20's for steaks and other finer cuts of meat. I personally enjoyed a delicious Chicken Schnitzel for lunch. It was good size cut of chicken, probably an 8 or 9oz white meat breast served as you expect schnitzel to be served battered and covered in a gravy. It had a side of seasonal veggies and you could pick your starch. I had the rice. Very normal rice with a dash of seasoning. I was hoping for the horseradish mashed potatoes but they only serve them after 4pm for dinner. My table-mates all had sandwiches. One had a salmon sandwich and the other a caprese sandwich. Both looked great and were served with sides. The steak fries looked large and hot and I was unfortunately not able unassumingly swipe one from their plates. I didn't get a beer but they have a good selection of their in house brews to choose from. Since I was going back to the office, I stuck to the Iced Tea. But it was a notably good Iced Tea, which if you're from the SL Valley you know can be hard to find. Overall I was very happy with that the new location is open. I'm also glad to see they're continuing with the same great menu selection as the other 2 restaurants have. I think its going to be a busy and successful new addition to the new outside shops at Fashion Place. There's a few new restaurant gremlins they seem to be working out but I'm sure they'll be an after though a few days from now. But honestly who cares, just grab a beer and live the suburban high life!

I went here the other night with some girlfriends for beer, er... book club. Over all, I'd give me experience the a resounding "meh." I ordered a pork tenderloin salad, which would have been awesome had the pork not been overcooked into jerky. My friends dishes were hit and miss as well. One loved the French onion soup beef sandwich, another liked the fish and chips. The prices are standard for a gastropub, I suppose, but I felt some items were priced a bit high. Our server was a bit inattentive, despite it being a really slow Monday night. He also didn't have a very good grasp on the menu. When we asked him what he recommended, we'd get "Well, this is popular" or "I've heard this is good..." but it seemed he hadn't personally tried any of the food. I'd probably go back for beers and appetizers with friends, but I don't see myself going back any time soon for a meal. I'm sure I'll also go in for growlers of beer. I love the Nut Brown Ale.

We had horrible service here! We came in at 2pm on a Sunday, with a party of 6 and two babies. They were extremely annoyed, and after telling us he wasn't sure if they had room for both of the baby seats, he disappeared for several minutes. So we decided to sit at the tall tables by the bar since we didn't know whether he was finding somewhere for us or if they couldn't seat us. Our waitress wasn't rude, but certainly wasn't happy to be there. Our food took 30 minutes to get to us. The food itself was great! Everyone enjoyed what they'd ordered. We won't be back, because there are too many places like this with great service that have good food.

Red Rock brewery has 3 locations: Murray, Salt Lake, and Park city. The beer was OK and the bar was right in front of the kitchen which was weird. The onion ring was greasy and missing flavor but the soup was good.

Came here for a date a couple of weeks ago. We waited about 25 minutes to be seated. We ordered the calamari and a pizza for both of us. The calamari was good, I am definitely a fan. But I was a little disappointed in the pizza, I was expecting it to have a little more flavor. The service was good.

Service was horrible... We sat down down and multiple servers walked past us multiple times without a greeting or water... Finally after asking for manager he did a great job taking care of it... My suggestion would be for the managers to be more on top of their servers...food and beer is always great..

I didn't get what I ordered, initially. The waiter said he thought I asked for another salad. It was not a long wait til the replacement came, but disappointing. I had the Warm Shrimp Salad - Sautéed shrimp, watercress, spinach, roasted sweet potatoes, grapefruit, toasted pistachios & Gorgonzola cheese with creamy lemon pepper dressing. I think it was the combination of ingredients generally but the presentation lacked and the pieces of watercress spinach were stuck together. The shrimp was tough and flavorless.

I enjoy the Red Rock downtown and came here on two occasions. The food was disappointing. The deep fried seafood was soggy and the fish sandwich was dry. Flat iron steak (our favorite dish at both downtown and Fashion Place location) was tasty and tender, as well as the horseradish mashed potatoes. Beer selection was rather small; I'd probably opt for the Bayou for beers. Service was spot on and friendly and they were accommodating to big groups.

This is the Place! I moved from Sugar house to Midvale and I'm happy that they opened a Red Rock in the Fashion Place Mall! Red Rock is my Brunch spot! I love their Eggs Purgatory and last weekend I tried the Sunrise Burger. Burger for Breakfast? Yes Please. For brunch they have $2 Bloody Marys and Mimosas. This is a family joint so your children are allowed in (compared to other brunch spots) they got a kids menu as well. Red Rock is known for its fancy brews of some of the best Beer in the Wasatch Front but what I really like is their craft root beer and cream soda. I recommned this place for someone who like great quality grub in a cool laid back atmosphere

I've been looking forward to this place opening for a while now. I was neither impressed, nor disappointed. The beer selection is good. Like all breweries, it has a beer sampler option. The food is average. I had halibut, horse raddish potatoes and coleslaw. The highlight was the potatoes. My companion had a steak sandwich, which she stated smelled exactly like a hotdog from a football game at the U. All said and done, if I were to eat at the mall again, this place would place probably 5th on my choices of places to eat. It's not bad, but it's not great, either. For two of us to eat an appetizer, and an entree and two beers each, the total was $76. Pretty spendy.

A quiet Monday at Red Rock. Our server was the usual Utah very friendly, lots of refills. I had the amazing $12. Cobb Salad, it was huge and delicious. My friend really like her Caprese Sandwich. RR is a decent mall lunch spot.

Another location for this great brew pub. Went for my usual brunch on Saturday for the two dollar bloody marys and mimosas. Our service was great and the food was awesome as usual. No matter how many times I visit any of the locations, I will always leave happy and full. The great thing about this one is you can send your significant other to shop at the mall. While you stay and enjoy a drink with your sports on the tube.

This Red Rock is located at Fashion Place mall and thank goodness there is finally a non chain or fast food option other than the fabulous Nordstrom Bistro. This location seems quite a bit bigger than the downtown location. They have the same menu so I could order my favorites from this Utah staple. The service wasn't as great and quick as I am used to from the downtown location, but since it is a new location I am sure they will be getting their flow down over time. The deck is excellently place for lunch time because it remains shaded due to the northern location.

Same feeling as the others. I would go again, if I was in the area, but wouldn't go out of my way either. I like the healthy side options. My sandwhich was fresh, and good. Just not anything out of the ordinary.

Absolutely Awful! Beer took 12 minutes to arrive while bar just chatted in a slow time in there. The food was cold, and tasted very different than downtown or PC, and the worst part of all.....One of the managers (some Gross Old Man) Jim maybe? came over to the table and not leave me and my friends alone. Felt like He was undressing us with his eyes, and flirting feeling very uncomfortable, hell even sexually harassed. Asking us What we were eating like he didn't know. CREEP. I will never EVER go back there again. I will eat and drink at the downtown location only, where I wont get oggled at or feel uncomfortable.

we go here every so often, but this last time was above and beyond, Clay was our waiter and my husband and I liked him from the start. he could recommend anything we asked, from drinks to desserts, he was prompt, very good at keeping my water full (I was having a camel night for whatever reason) I would actually notice him kinda peak around at our table then run to grab the water jug cuz I was empty. . .

Beer good. Dessert ok. Service. Meh

Overall I would not recommend; it was like being at a downgraded chilis.

i came here last week and it wasn't quite as good as it has been in the past. they do have an extensive gluten free menu and i appreciate how they listed their gluten free cocktails. my bf got the red rock burger with coleslaw and sweet potato fries. he thought the coleslaw was too sweet, but enjoyed the rest of his meal. i got the wild mushroom polenta and it was average. not amazing, but not bad. honestly it kind of reminded me of a frozen dinner. our server was very nice, but seemed super busy and didn't come check on how our food was after it came out. it also took a long time to get our check and when i asked for boxes that took another 10 minutes. overall the food and service was average. i probably won't be coming back based off my most recent visit.

  • Sean S.

  • Ryan P.

I had the salmon. It was quite good. My son had the Flatiron Steak. It was good too. Service was good too, but nothing was great. I would go back again, but I wouldn't go out if my way.

I prefer this location over the Downtown location! We have been fortunate to experience amazing service and consistent great meals! :) Had the Mushroom Polenta with a glass of Hob Nob Pinot Noir! Delicious!

Consistantly good. Had the chicken schnitzel again yesterday and hubby had the sweet potato canniloni, which was AMAZING!!! Service was outstanding. Love this place

  • Mikiah H.

Bottom line: the food, though not great, is good (albeit a bit overpriced), and the beer selection is half decent. Atmosphere and customer service are what carry this joint.

Great mug of rootbeer! Solid bar food--nothing extraordinary. The pizzas are the best thing I've had here. Service varies. I've had better service at the downtown SLC location.

Good food portions are huge , I think they are a bit over priced personally their beer is cheaper than a soda ..what? Waiter was trying way to hard and was sort of annoying.

Red Rock is just perfect for what I needed tonight. Macadamian encrusted salmon, steamed veggies and horseradish-mash potatoes. Yum Lotsa beers, lotsa decent entrees. Glad we have another one in town.

Service was horrible... We sat down down and multiple servers walked past us multiple times without a greeting or water... Finally after asking for manager he did a great job taking care of it... My suggestion would be for the managers to be more on top of their servers...food and beer is always great..

  • Taylor F.
