Dilapidated. Decor, food and standards overall. Nice enough people, just not as bright and vibrant as it has been in years past. Pros: Our drinks and food came out in a timely manner. Cons: The food was warm, not hot, and the cheese on the eggplant parm had cooled off. The pasta was on the 'used' side and the appetizer sampler looked like it had been purchased at Costco. What else can I say?

Food is usual blah tasteless food in Utah. Draft beer tasted like slimy fish. Service was much better than last time. Bland food & drink, but I'm use to that in SLC

My friend and I came for soup, salad, and breadsticks. Lance P. was our server. He was awesome. Great sense of humor. He made us laugh and made it a great experience. I'd come back for him :) left a 60% tip.

I'm a regular, and I keep it simple, but I think the many of the negative reviews have to do with people coming at rush times. If you can possibly avoid walking in right at noon or 7 PM, you can skirt the long waits for a table, or just walk straight in and sit at a table in the lounge with no wait. Lee H waited on us today. Fast, correct and very friendly. Checked back often to assure to our needs. Meals were great, and you always get as much as you desire. Leaving full is no problem. Rarely have had an issue at this location, and when I have, they have been small and always corrected without issue. This visit was a 5, but I would average my visits at a 4, as all there servers are not as attentive.

Oh the OG. While not always (or ever) my first choice when it comes to restaurants, it never seems to upset or impress me, which is why the 3 stars. The main times that I actually do come here are mainly because I neglected to have a choice in the matter, but when I do make the occasional visit, I stick to a few basics. The soups. The breadsticks. And the salad. Never have I been less than satisfied with these meal accompaniments. Next, the Steak Gorgonzola Alfredo. Served on top of sundried tomatoes, alfredo sauce and pasta, are these gorgeous little beef medallions that are topped with a balsamic reduction. Now, if you order this dish and don't specify how you would like your beef cooked, then of course it'll come out rubbery. I recommend getting it medium rare, mainly because by the time the food actually arrives to my table, I find that I am nearly too full to have more than a few tastes, and I always end up taking it home and reheating it. I will say that it is a very rich dish, but chances are, many of the dishes you order from the OG will be. To each their own I guess. This particular OG has fantastic service by the way, the servers I've had have always been charming and attentive. The parking isn't really great, but the mall has a few spots open if you're willing to walk.

My boyfriend and I had just wrapped up our Christmas shopping, and we decided that we wanted a "romantic dinner". Olive Garden was the closest place, so we stopped in. The wait was a few minutes, but we expected that. We were seated and the waitress took forever to bring our drinks. Once she finally decided to pay attention to us, she wasn't very friendly. The whole time we were here she never refilled our drinks. I can go through about 3-4 cups of water with my meal, so her not refilling my cup angered me significantly. The only time she was interested in us was to take our order and give us our check. I ordered the Caprese Flat bread and she brought me a chicken flat bread. I'm a vegetarian, so I spent the next 10 minutes picking chicken out of my messed up order. My boyfriend was pleased with his meal, but informed me as we left that there was a booger on his menu. I will not be back.

Our waiter Enoch was great! He made my daughter's birthday special, recommended delicious items, and kept the drinks and food coming. Pasta fagioli soup, bread sticks and salad for starters, then we had rosemary garlic chicken, crab topped chicken, lasagna, cheese ravioli and four cheese baked ziti for entrees. All were excellent. Their small sized chocolate mousse and other desserts are perfect. The manager stopped by our table to ask about our experience, the wait staff sang happy birthday to my daughter, and they all thanked us for dining with them. It was a fun meal!

I don't know what it is, but it seems like the quality of most chain restaurants continues to decline. Let me tell you, Olive Garden is on exception. I have had better Italian food out of the freezer section at the grocery store. The sauces were bland, the pasta was over cooked and we were generally dissatisfied with the food. I would have given this visit one star if it weren't for the Zuppa Toscana. This is a wonderful sausage and potato based soup that is always delicious. The wait staff seemed new, and when our kids ordered a root beer with their kids meals, they were brought out $3 bottled root beer. This wouldn't have been an issue if we had been informed that they only have bottled root beer. I think my days of eating at Olive Garden are over. Don't waste your time or your money.

Let me just say, the customer service is GREAT! This review is just about the food. I am not happy with the quality of their food lately. I know it is not the freshest so I have to be fair, but I think they are loosing their touch or something. I used to dig their Alfredo sauce, now... let's just say every single time I eat it I am not as happy as I used to. I don't think I will go to any olive garden any time soon.

I come to this Garden Of Olives when my husband and I can't decide what to eat. Soup, salad and breadsticks it is! They're always prompt and friendly. I've liked every server we've had. This last time he was particularly good. He gave us just enough space that we felt private and secluded, but not so much that we were ignored. And the Italian margaritas are DELISH! Yum! We quite enjoyed that visit. The server also did magic tricks for us at the end, which after my 2 margaritas made me giggle with delight. I wish I could remember his name, but alas! The margaritas! He was in his 20's, brown hair, dark eyes, cute AND did magic tricks. I wanted to intro him to my best friend! Thrillsville!

This review is unusual for me and Olive Garden. I used to be a big consumer with a family of 6 but recently we experienced a myriad of problems at different Olive Gardens. Food prep and delivery issues...service issues...etc. To OG's credit the manager would normally try to make it right at the end but it still wasn't good to experience in the first place. Last night however was a great, exception(al). Our waiter was a gentleman named Francesco who was very prompt and attentive in getting everything we needed including refills on water, salad and soup. The food came up VERY quickly was hot and prepared perfectly for all 4 of our dinners. It was actually enjoyable to eat there and reminiscent of the Olive Garden we came to love years ago. Hopefully this wasn't a one-off and this will continue. If so we'll be back more often. PS. Ask for Francesco. He really is that good.

Parking is less than stellar most days and the pasta is just alright. Honestly for me the The Olive Garden is just 'meh, alright.' The portions are plentiful and I usually have enough to take home for another meal. But the reality is this Italian joint is a step up from fast food Italian quality. The food here certainly is not served fast, so expect the stay for about 45+ minutes once seated. The one good combo I do love at the OG would be the soup, salad, and breadstick combo. For lunch it is just a quick tasty, filling option. It is sometimes on special for $1 off, but even at full price it is not a bad deal for a meal. I'm a sucker for the minestrone soup, but there are plenty of options to mix it up with. My standby for a full meal is the Chicken Parmesan. The dinner portion is just way to much food for one sitting but the crust on the chicken is just done right . I've tried most of the options on the menu over the many years OG has been open. It's good enough to keep coming back but it never my first pick for a meal. Usually it's a large crowd pleaser which satisfies almost everyone in a group.

Last night I decided that I would try ordering on line and getting my meal to go. Ordering your food online was very easy and thought the whole process was very simple and straightforward. Picking up my order was the most difficult part of the whole experience. The parking is horrible. Those easy and convenient parking spaces reserved for the to-go pick ups. Dont even try. People parking in those and then walking in to sit down and eat. After on the other side of the lot and walking in, my food was not even ready. I was directed to the bar where all pick up orders are and the bar tender there didnt even acknowledge me. She was more interested in the conversation of the two men sitting at the bar, than she was in helping customers. After a few minutes of standing around playing with my keys, she looked my way and said that someone would be with me in a moment. Didnt ask for my name or anything. Several other servers walked by and said nothing. So for about 5 mins I was standing there being pretty much ignored the entire time. Then a server by the name of Holly finally came out and asked my name. She brought my order out to me and off I went. The food is blah. Nothing great about it. I would never recommend the Calamari to anyone. It was over breaded, cold and had a horrible taste. It went straight into the garbage. The salad was ok and for the main meal I had the Sausage Stuffed Giant Rigatoni. If you like trying to search for the "giant" rigatoni in a sea of sauce this is the meal for you. There was maybe 4 stuffed rigatonis the size of small meatballs in a huge bowl of sauce. I dont think I will ever eat here again. The whole experience was a huge disappointment.

It is good but I only go when I have a gift card or something. It is to factory like food for me. The drinks are overpriced and the food is just Meh most of the time. I love the soups. I miss my friend Donna who used to be a server at this location she was the reason I would go more often. The Brochette needs to have crispy bread with it. The doughy stuff is not that great. I do not understand Utah's Love affair with the Olive Garden.

Seriously, train your staff!!! Came here 6-7 months ago, had terrible service. Swore it off, never wanted to come back. Out with the family, it was close and easy. I will never, ever be back to this restuarnt again! I work in customer service and I typically do not complain, this is the exception. Got one cup of water with my meal, we all did. We had to wait to get our salad, quite a while, but did not say anything. At that point, the manager came over and aplogized. She also offered to buy our table dessert. Nice gesture! Too bad this was over shadowed. I ordered soup, which showed up way later than the salad and after I asked for it. When the entrées arrived 3 of the 4 were wrong. Another waiter got my wife another drink, after we asked for it. The waiter asked us twice if we were ready to order desert while we were still eating, I had to stop him both times. Before we were finished with our meal, I had to ask for some more water because none of our glasses had been filled yet. The waiter came back and asked AGAIN if we wanted to order dessert, I told him we were not going to order anything until we got some more water. After our meal (and we finally got some more water) we ordered desert and then we were informed that the manager meant that we could only get 1 desert for the whole table, gross misrepresentation! While we were eating our single desert the waiter had the balls to ask me if I had the "tip/I mean check ready"? WTF? ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Trust me when I say I don't normally complain or write reviews, it is my way of giving someone a break when they are trying and they obviously care. Writing this review only shows how terrible the service was. You would think that a company of this size would have figured out a long time ago that it is cheaper and more beneficial in the long run to train your staff and enable them to deliver good customer service, rather than just giving stuff away.

I'm really not sure what people complain about when they talk about Olive Garden. The main issues I hear about are wait times and authenticity. Well I have news for you, it's popular and it tastes good! Almost everything I get at Olive Garden has been fantastic. The menu has a wide variety of options that exceeds most Italian restaurants in the valley. My absolute favorite thing to get while I am there is the soup, salad and breadsticks. It's 8.95 and is unlimited! And if you feel like getting dessert, the Zeppoli will make you a very happy person. In fact, you'll be happy enough to crawl under the table and take a nap.

Welp, here I go again with the three stars. This place is as Italian as cafe rio is Mexican - it's just not. So if you want authentic, there are amazing places in Utah to enjoy instead. My other halves family enjoys this place, so we go with them once a month or so on Sunday - kudos for sucking it up for the in-laws (pat myself on the back). My waitress was a rock star today, she had a personal conversation with me about children, and I think we even got better service because of this time spent engaging in conversation. Come to think of it, I have not had a bad experience really with service. The good thing about chain restaurants such as the OG, is it is consistent. The salad is tasty, minestrone is good, breadsticks are warm, and my pasta isn't great but it isn't awful either. At the end of the day, I don't pay for the items I can make better at home for the same amount - such as the steak Gorgonzola, so I stick to the deals to get more salad and soup.

Go to Macaroni Grill instead. Over the years, I've been unimpressed. Just two weeks ago, however, I decided to go gung ho at Olive Garden and give them an all-efforts-in attempt to enjoy them. The waitresses and servers immediately let me down by using me as drink passer-outer, and spilling water on me. And by being impatient with questions from our table. My husband and I shared the spinach and artichoke dip. I'll admit, I probably could have avoided burning the roof of my mouth had I waited. But it wasn't a good start to my meal. The crustinis were not, in fact, crunchy or crispy. And the dip was okay. The salad was probably my favorite part. I'm never let down by their salad and soups, but I'm rarely in the mood for a dinner consisting of salad and soup when I'm paying. In the past, I've gone for strictly chicken at the Olive Garden and been thoroughly disappointed by their "processed" and rubbery texture, and canned flavor. I opted for the Steak Gorgonzola Alfredo this time and thought the sauce was yummy, but the steak was not. Again, the processed and rubbery textures and flavors leaves me feeling like I'm eating something from Chef Boyarde instead of a restaurant. My husband got the endless pasta bowl, rather than be disappointed with a dish as usual. He was served one bowl of pasta, which was definitely not as good as a jar of spaghetti sauce made at home. And not asked if he'd like another until they were handing out checks at our table. He got another and made them wait. Continuing with my all-out excursion, I ordered the Dolcini little desserts platter for dessert. They were frozen, and tasted like something from the frozen section at the grocery store. Not worth $8. In total, we spent over $50, and had our gratuity figured for us, even though I felt ignored. There was a mistake on our check, which we asked to be corrected, however it was not. The waitress guilt tripped us trying to convince us to not make her fix it, and eventually gave us cash back for the difference. I do not like the idea of the Olive Garden figuring my gratuity for me. My servers ignored me and were frustrated and impatient. I feel like they don't have to do a good job when their tip is already figured for them. I won't ever go to Olive Garden on my own volition again. In fact, we haven't--but friends and family keep having birthdays and gatherings there. Please people.

We're all familiar with Olive Garden restaurants. This one is no different. Food is good, service is relatively fast, food is cheaper than other restaurants in the area. The one bummer: WAITING! It took 45 minutes to get a table. Time goes by much slower with a toddler around... it was not a fun wait! Otherwise, it is a family restaurant: loud, crowded, good amounts of food and plenty of parking :-)

Okay, so maybe it's not really 5 stars - closer to 3, but I'm trying to balance out some of the negative reviews. I mean, really, why do people have to be such haters? Is it authentic Italian? No. Could you get better food somewhere else? Sure. That being said, I am always pleased with both the food and service we get from Olive Garden. Maybe the food isn't real Italian, but it is good and what I refer to as my "comfort food." Because we have four kids, most often we get take-out when we do eat from Olive Garden and, I must say, they do take-out better than just about anybody else. In 10 or so years of ordering from them, I only ever recall one meal not being correct, and if we've ever had a problem with the food, the manager has more than compensated us for the error. Here's a thought - if you hate it so much, don't go there. Some people are such eager beavers to post negative reviews, but I really felt I had to say something about this place. I like Olive Garden. Heck, I might even love it and no, I don't think that makes me crazy! :)

Sorry negative people, but we had a perfect experience at this particular restaurant, and have had many other good experiences here as well. The service was exceptional! We never had to ask for drink refills, more salad, breadsticks, or soup. The food was fantastic! The experience was so exceptional that we made sure the manager was aware. Thank you Olive Garden

Olive Garden is somewhat a standard italian restaurant experience. They have a nice wine and menu selection to choose from. As far as a chain restaurant, they do a good job. The service is friendly and helpful. The prices are mid range but you get a good portion of food. She got the Four Cheese Mezzaluna with Shrimp and I had the Pork Melanese. Both were very rich and filling. We also shared a pumpkin cheesecake for dessert. We have yet to be disappointed by Olive Garden.

I dearly wish that this location would accept reservations. With 8 people in our group on a busy, Friday night (our mistake) we ended up waiting 45 minutes for a table. Fortunately, the staff of Olive Garden kept things light with trivia quizzes and bribe-awards of discounts on appetizers. Our waiter was excellent, friendly, and kept our drinks filled. The only reason this restaurant doesn't rank more stars from me is - eh - it's Olive Garden, and their food never impresses me much.

We ha a great time at this restaurant. Even with a party of eleven, we were given ample service and were served in a very timely fashion. We had very friendly and professional servers and loved our stay. I would recommend this to people who are looking for something to eat an don't really care what they eat.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
