Coffee and a t-shirt. What more could one want on vacation!

We went here on Saturday March 14th 2015. My girlfriend and I went there because the name of the place reminded me of my days in college, and she had a high opinion of this place from the last time she was there. Unfortunately, it was a huge let down for me. To start, the Americano tasted (and smelled) like Folgers that had been left in the coffee pot for hours. It smelled burnt, and even after adding a bunch of cream and sugar, it still tasted wretched. Only finished about 1 ounce of it before throwing it away. Then I ordered the Juevos Rancheros Crepe. The bacon was so dry and burned, it seemed like they had cooked it hours before, and simply arranged it on the crepe after they it. The beans were bland and tasted like they came from a can and were heating in a microwave, and what I can only assume were potatoes looked like they were scraped from the bottom of a cast iron pan were hard as rocks. The only part of the dish I enjoyed were the few bites that were covered in hot sauce and contained melted cheese. The only reservation I have, is that maybe they just had an off-day. It happens to everyone. So that might've just been it. But I'm not willing to risk it. And to top it all off, the coffee mugs were outrageously expensive. $18 is just ridiculous. I'll be going literally anywhere else next time I'm in Moab.

Firstly, buckwheat does not belong in a crepe. I ordered the roasted red pepper crepe and it came out looking like a soggy brown bathroom paper towel with a pile of peppers on it. Sorry but a 'savory crepe' should have everything wrapped inside like a burrito not random ingredients thrown on top. Don't even get me started on the taste of this dish. :/ Then we went to get refills of coffee. Apparently refills of coffee are a dollar, ok so I gave them $2 for two coffee refills and then was told that the price of coffee refills was actually $2.18 because of the tax. Who charges for coffee refills and then makes people scrounge around in their wallets for 18 cents of tax? Is coffee so rare in Moab that they need to charge for refills and then tax on refills??

I found my favorite Moab breakfast spot! Open early at seven the smiling staff serves up big delicious breakfast burritos, authentic crepes, and world class espresso along with local knowledge on the best jeep trails and hikes! Big soft couches, cozy seating areas and great wifi make this the best spot in town for a morning meeting, or hanging out and checking email. 5 stars!

Ice cream, loose leaf tea and so so environs. Not sold as best in town but after a couple days I got desperate for cafe culture! After a few days I gave up trying as this simply is not the town that can deliver in that regard. At least this place offers Harney & Sons tea.

Delicious. A tad pricey but when you get fresh veggies and a load of perfectly blended flavors, you won't mind.

Went here this AM around 10:30. It looked promising and we were all pretty excited. In our group we ordered granola, crepe, bagel, and a sandwich. After waiting about 20 minutes, the sandwiches came but our crepe and granola never came. Than multiple orders afters us came out. Another 10 minutes later, still no food had been produced. We were in hurry to get hiking, so we just wanted a refund. The staff was fine to reimburses us, but they made it apparent that it was burdensome. No apology was offered and even a free bagel for our troubles. We left after 45 minutes with nothing to show for it. No apology, no food to make up for the inconvenience. Poor service and really frustrating.

Ended up going here about three times in April with my dad for tea and breakfast. A nice little place. Meals made up fresh there with a creative and diverse menu. Lots of funky teas and coffees (yes, a menu with caffeine!) and some good sorbet or ice cream of some sort. I got tea for $1.25 and it was hot and there is a good selection of tea bags. I had a lox crepe for $8 something. My dad had a green eggs and ham crepe (with swiss cheese) for about the same. On other days, had a yummy veggie burrito, as well as a sausage burrito, and both were packed accordingly with things like mushrooms and spinach and sausage, for about $6.99. It's a chill nice environment and the staff remembered us for each visit. The prices aren't cheap but they're probably about right for this remote city and everything is pretty delicious. The book store is next door and you can walk in straight from the cafe. SWEET!

Eh. I wanted a crepe with peanut butter and chocolate, but they didn't have peanut butter, so I just got the nutella one. Tried to use my credit card but they have a 5 dollar minimum to use a credit card, so I ordered a scoop of german chocolate cake ice cream. I wasn't impressed with either item. The crepe was too thick and chewy (almost like rubber) and the nutella was in one spot, not spread out. The ice cream was mediocre at best. I've had better from Baskin Robbins. I thought I had accidentally been given plain chocolate until I got to the last 2 bites and finally got some coconut and nuts. Very bland ice cream. I won't be eating here on future Moab visits. Blah.

I was in the Moab area last week and stopped in here several times for the watermelon cooler, fish taco, breakfast burrito, and various coffee drinks. The guy that made the burritos was okay with slight substitutions; and on my last day in town, wrapped up the burrito so i could eat it while driving. They make a mean soy latte and even serve it hot :-) IMO, this is the place to go in Moab if you want friendly, accommodating service, good food, good coffee, reasonable prices, and a casual, laid-back environment. You order at the counter, give them your name, pick up your order when it's ready, and bus your own dishes, cups, etc. I think this used to be Mondo Coffee (which i was told closed about 4 years ago), so this will be my go-to place next time I'm in town. I usually park in the Visitor Center parking lot and walk over to the cafe. Free wi-fi.

I give this place a zero in costumer service and staff relations to one another. Went in because we didn't want a sit down restaurant and wanted quick food and coffee before we started out the day. We order two breakfast burrito, one kids pancakes for food. Drinks we got two ice lattes and a OJ for our child. When the total came up it was $37ish. Which I just paid in cash and wasn't given a receipt. But when we went to set down and look closely at the cost we came up with $27 with what they had listed on there board. We went and ask for receipt and they couldn't come up with one, ask if we got charge extra for syrup and butter. And the lady said let me talk to the owner which was the guy making the food and they kind off BS for a bit. Then she came back saying she was sorry but it was policy and that they could get us something extra...which we got an ice cream for our son and then she stamped the card we had to get a free drink after we have bought 10 drinks a few more time. We been there before and at other nicer places with better service for about $40 buck for breakfast for two adults and a child. We will never go back. Poor business

Although was turned off a bit by the location (in a parking lot, but then again...it is in Moab) and the name, (some of) the food here was really good. We came right as it opened, so everything was fresh. By the cash register, there are baskets of croissants, although they do not look that tasty, both the chocolate and ham and cheese flavors were warm, fresh, filling and really good. These are handy, caloric snacks to take with you if going to hike through Arches or doing some other outdoor activity. Did not really like my ham and cheese crepe (crepe to thick, too much ham), but the croissants and good coffee made up for it. Also, I have not listened to Jack Johnson in years, but hearing the album at 8 am while eating good baked goods contributed to a lovely experience at this place.

  • Kelly V.

All I had here was the ice cream. Rocky Road to be exact. It literally didn't taste like anything. No chocolaty taste, barely any nuts or marshmellows. I recommend getting ice cream from Peace Tree across the street instead.

A name like "Wake & Bake" but doesn't open 'till 8am on weekdays? No thank you!

Just passing through Moab and wanted some coffee and snack to carry me over to dinner in a few hours. I had planned to stop at the Mondo Cafe but noticed it was not there anymore (or maybe it moved?). This was just next door to where the Mondo Cafe use to be so I thought I would try it out. On the overhead menu, I noticed the malt shake on the menu and ordered that with Kona coffee ice cream. $6 for a 16 oz cup. The results were bland. The shake was so whipped up that the texture was that of light foam and the taste was that of just milk. No malt flavor and no perceptible hint of Kona coffee could be detected. For $6 a pop I expected much much more. When I asked if they forgot the coffee ice cream I was told by my shake's creator that he put in a lot of ice cream, a whole scoop in fact (from the other reviews this seems to be about 3 oz). He offered to make me a new one but I asked and was given my money back. Maybe the other things on the menu are worth the inflated-Moab prices, but IMO the malted milk shake is not.

We live in Italy, and were visiting Moab. The Espresso was top notch, as was the American coffee. We returned for the next day before starting the hike. Good atmosphere.

it was alright. there were grounds in my late' and they made it wrong (hot instead of iced) and had to redo it. there's a funny review of this place that's misplaced under eklecticafe. yelp.com/biz/eklecticafe…

  • Kortney K.

The girl at the register was very friendly and there was plenty of room for sitting. However, the man who cooked our breakfast was lacking in his skills. I ordered an everything bagel with lox- I got an Asiago bagel and the salmon was steaming hot. It was disgusting. The boyfriend got a bacon, egg and cheese sandwich, the man cooking messed up his order and then tried convincing him that he ordered something else. If they get a different cook would maybe go back as the atmosphere was nice.

came here early in our trip for a green smoothie. there was so much lime juice in it , it was almost undrinkable. came back for a quick to go breakfast - egg sandwich and a coffee. that took 20 minutes. my friends food took 30 minutes. they got sandwiches. they seemed pretty disorganized and stressed, but it was lunchtime during busy season, so.... I got nothin for ya wake and bake. add a banana in that green smoothie and more staff in the kitchen.

  • Jon F.

I have been eating at the wake and bake for many years, and at this point the restaurant has gone way down hill. Coffee mediocre, crepe had still frozen blueberries in it and the veggie burrito was also poor with cold gelatinous spinach. The waffle at $5 almost gave eggos a run for their money. The sign on the door advertising for and entire new kitchen staff indicates things are in flux. Hope they can get it together. Love the location and atmosphere, but may be the end of an era.

Let's start with the good - I enjoyed their huckleberry ice cream. It was good and tasty. The bad? Well they list ice cream by the pint but they don't sell it that way. The employees seemed clueless and sort of apologized. A friend of mine (who I had not seen for a year - random encounter) came in during the ordering process and we started to chat. The female employee became snappy with us because we weren't ordering fast enough. We were the only people in line and we were talking to each other!! Chill out! She was rude and angry. When my friend asked for a sample, the employee pulled a USED spoon out of the trash container and gave it to him. He didn't notice where she got it from until after he put it in his mouth. Disgusting! Poor guy! We later sat down to eat and all of the tables were dirty. This was at 3 pm in the afternoon and there were only three other small groups in there. It was striking because it was clearly Overall, pretty disappointed - we will not go back.

  • Justin J.

its the cashier's responsibility to ask the customer whether the order is for here or to go. and when i had to clarify that my order was to go after placing the order, i did not appreciate the attitude and rudeness given by the cashier. customer service demands that the customer is always right, and common courtesy is an expectation from just nice, polite people. wake and bake lacks both these things.

This place is one of the few coffee shops in Moab, so it's always busy... despite itself. Last week the wifi was down the whole time. They didn't really even seem to be fixing it. They just don't care. They often open late too. It's just a very relaxed place, and although the ownership has changed, it seems to be very Moab to not care too much about your business or your customers. The location is fantastic. The staff is never great, but they always seem to be new. So I would bet they have a lot of employee turnover. The only coffee shop that opens early is the Starbucks (gross) in the grocery store. All the others open at 8am, and there is usually a line forming. None of these businesses, the Love Muffin and the like realize the HUGE opportunity they miss out on. But, I suppose that is what makes Moab, Moab.

Ice cream is ice cream and it was indeed ice cream. Was good. Lots of cool looking things on menu we didn't try. Frozen espresso mixed with vanilla ice cream was delicious. Good atmosphere. No air conditioning inside.

  • Cailin O.

So good after sweating your ass off on a hike! Ice cream is tasty and totally worth it: the huckleberry was particularly creamy and the coffee with chocolate bits was refreshing, but not as creamy. Go for breakfast or lunch! They stop serving food stuffs after 3.

Our favorite place to grab breakfast, lunch, snacks, and ice cream while we were in Moab. Really yummy & inexpensive - we probably would have eaten dinner but they were closed.

Cleaver names for items on their menu. I really enjoyed the savory crepes they offer here. Nice helpful staff. Definitely hit the spot after an epic morning hike.

Are you kidding me?! I waited 55 minutes and my Breakfast Burrito had still not been made. I only went there to support a local business instead of Los Jilbertos. When I complained about it taking so long I was rudely told, "sorry, we are not set up to handle this kind of business." Then they refunded my credit card purchase minus my tip! (I called them out and she angrily grabbed a dollar out of their tip jar and gave it to me. My tip, Los Jilbertos! Friendlier, much faster and much heartier.

A delight! There was a little hiccup for me in that an item I ordered was prepared with an ingredient that I am allergic to, but a quick reorder and that was solved. The food is delish and the coffee great.

The food was good and reasonable prices. The pastries was delicious. The customer service was outstanding. The restaurant had a cozy atmosphere. I would definitely return for my next visit to Moab.

Good tea&coffee and breakfast food for an active day. One of the healthiest choices for breakfast in Moab.

A little pricey but a good deal for a quick lunch on Main Street in Moab. We'd been here before and were less than impressed but their paninis this time were fresh and very tasty (if a little small) and their handmade potato chips are delicious - crunchy and full of flavor. I subbed a side salad for the chips and it was so refreshing - mixed greens (no iceberg!) and a divine house miso dressing that was perfect for it. You order at the counter and bus your own dishes - there are plenty of tables and you can see the cook making your food right behind the counter. Good, friendly service. Ice cream scoops are $1 and I loved mine but my husband's was badly freezer-burned...bummer. The restaurant is clean but the restrooms are in need of some care - a little lacking on the details at Wake & Bake but we were satisfied with our lunch there.

Every time I'm in the desert, typically twice a month, I have to stop at this place. Chillest staff, great vibes. Also, by far best iced coffee I've had probably ever. Cheers to Wake and Bake!

  • Jared B.

Their waffles are a joke! One flat 1970's-style waffle with "maple syrup" (totally fake despite what we were told). It was dry and uninspired. They could easily have much better fluffy, light waffles with not much trouble! I make better waffles at hotel continental breakfasts. The one person in our party that ordered a breakfast taco was happy.

We have been to this cafe several times in the past and have always enjoyed it. However the last time we tried to go (actually we have them 2 chances) they were closed. The first time we went was at 2 pm and they turned down NINE customers! What kind of small business turns down NINE customers! We decided to give them a second chance the next morning and yet again they were closed. They do not open until 8 am. Again... What kind of coffee shop opens at 8 am? We ended up at Starbucks. Not exactly supporting local like we had hoped, but hey.. they were open!

  • Emily H.

Stopped by here for an iced coffee, which was okay. Friend ordered a beverage called the Mo-gasm which was like a frappuccino blended with banana and mocha. Sounded good, but just too much of a banana after-taste. Blegh. I'm cringing as I write this review. Prices were okay....best part of the cafe was the connection to the bookstore next door.

  • Kristen F.

I think Wake and Bake's time is over. Though I never felt that it was that awesome, my husband convinced us to go for breakfast the other day. I ordered a blueberry crepe, a waffle and coffee. The actual crepe was okay, but it was stuffed with very cold canned or frozen blueberries which made it unenjoyable to eat. We paid $4.95 for a waffle that looked very much like the waffles you get at Waffle House - not sure if it had been frozen or made that day. I felt bad making my kids eat this food. As we were driving out of town and my husband was finishing up his Yelp review, I chugged my last sip of coffee and ended up with a mouthful of grounds. 'Nuff said, we will likely never eat there again.

    (1)
  • Steve M.

I came in for coffee and a bagel. They would not put butter on the bagel, which was off-putting, and the coffee was just mediocre. On the up-side, the server was friendly and I can't complain about the price of the coffee.

  • Chris M.

This place is hit or miss. Love the location and the chill environment and have always come here when I'm in Moab. But this trip was such a mixed bag from great to terrible. The first day for breakfast, we had a breakfast burrito that was one of the best we ever.....huge with the perfect filling of meat, eggs, veggies. I also ordered a ham, cheese, pesto crepe. Both were outstanding. The day we leave, I order two NY thick milkshakes and two chicken tacos. All was terrible. When I got to the car carrying the milkshakes, my boyfriend immediately noticed how runny they were and thought it his mint shake was just green colored milk. The tacos were terrible too and not "hot". We were very disappointed and wondering if breakfast is the only meal here worth ordering. Might try one more time when we're back in Moab for the breakfast. Service was nice enough, mediocre and wait time was decent.

Had a simple after-the-long-day ice creams here and were not disappointed in the quality of the ice cream, just the portion (our first visit)--a very tightly controlled single scoop ball of ice cream offered in either a little styrofoam cup or a cone. Tastes of the huckleberry ice cream chocolate chip was excellent as well as the Baileys (terrific strawberry) and other flavors. Overall they have a about 12 flavors. Our first trip there just was not much ice cream for the money a 3 oz single scoop for $2.00. But the second trip was a more generous 3 Oz scoop that was really very good. 2 scoops cost $3.50. Service was friendly and there were many other items on the menu that I didn't try. They serve an OK breakfast on paper plates and also have pizza and burritos and other items on the menu. Nice casual inside sit down tables with door openings to the outside patio in front.

Eclectic spot with a homey menu, offering in-house baked goods and breakfasts like crepes, waffles, and yummy tacos. Veggie burrito was amazing, packed with spinach. Yum! Recommend if... A) You're starting out on a long day hike...you NEED a veggie burrito! B) You dig baked goods, biscottis are homemade. C) You love dessert, I'd try the ice cream sliders.

  • Mia N.

can't really give a comprehensive review of this place, because I only tried the raspberry and pineapple sorbet - but they really hit the spot on a hot summer day! and my dogs and I enjoyed sitting on the patio in the shade and watching all the people coming and going in the parking lot.

    (3)
  • Sarah K.

I really wanted to like this place because I love crepes. Most of the hot food was clearly microwaved. The breakfast burrito was decent but the tortilla and cheese were fried to the plate; the crepes were cold in the middle and most of the veggies tasted like they were canned. I was disappointed. I'm giving it 2 stars because the coffee was good.

  • Jim P.

Drop by for a cup of coffee after doing the White Rim Trail. WOW! the coffee was great.

    (5)
  • Lydia M.

Waaaay overpriced. I got a veggie breakfast burrito. It barely had any egg in it, I had to dig for some. The majority of it's contents were (obviously previously frozen) spinach. The coffee was fine. I felt really ripped off, definitely will not return. The patio is dog friendly, I'll give them that.

  • Stephen V.

This is a good example of a someone with a cliche hook, but no knowledge of running a business. The baked goods and "special" are a day old and stale. Their wi-fi is sporadicly up or down. The coffee is not bad, though. I guess that's all you need in a "coffee" shop.

    (2)
  • John D.

Bought two vegetarian breakfast burritos for take out and paid nearly 20 bucks with the coffee and "biodegradable packaging surcharge". It took what seemed forever to get our chow and get out of there. You can visit my burrito south of town off the highway where I through it out the window. You can visit another burrito a couple miles later on the other side of the road where my travel partner through the other one. We kept our biodegradable packages with us till Monticello where we composted them to get a feeling of value from wake and bake. We are good humored folks though and laughed about what a crap place this joint is. Never again, epic fail for a coffee shop You've been warned.

Rolled in around 850p from right next door at Eddie's (after having a completely unsatisfactory meal). I was really hoping to boost my mood with some ice cream or a crepe. The guy working behind the counter was nice enough and seemed like he was just trying to get through the night. I asked him how the crepe's were. He said good. I've never had a bad crepe before so I decided to give it a go. First hint, QC isn't up to snuff. The crepe menu reads that "Banana & Fruit" is $.75 extra. Right next to that it says that "Chocolate" is $1 extra. OK, sure. Right below both of those it says that "Banana & Chocolate" is $2. wtf. I thought things got cheaper when you bought them together, not more expensive. Guy behind the counter told me that the entire menu had typos all over the place (with a resigned sigh - I can't blame him). OK, so a banana + chocolate crepe seems simple enough. Like I said earlier, I've never had a bad crepe. There's a first for everything it seems. The crepe had was served to me in a container made from recycled sugar cane (the coolest part of the meal... except that they CHARGE YOU FOR THE CONTAINER, $.50). My crepe was soggy and chewy. The "chocolate", instead of melting chocolate chips inside half-way through the process, there's a bottle of some brown liquid that's squirted on top of the "finished crepe" when it's in the paid for container. It wasn't even hershey's syrup.. way too watery. The bananas were cut up and stuff in a single spot. So instead of having a flat crepe with banana chunks distributed within, I got the equivalent of a crepe knapsack with the bananas all hanging out in one spot. Again, not even cooked all the way. Half of the bananas were cold. Not sure if this guy's new or simply didn't care, but this is not how crepe's are supposed to be.

Lots of mixed reviews, but we have always had good results with this place... First off it is an appendage of Eddie McStiff's next door.... Secondly... killer fish tacos and monster buffalo burritos! Ice cream is yummy, expensive but good ingredients usually are. Staff is friendly most days, and the main cook is aloof but nice! Great place for a small inexpensive lunch with kiddos, despite the name!

Went in for ice cream after dinner. Ice cream was supposed to be made there. It was very grainy. Crystals Cakes and Cones across the street is a much better desert spot.

For the past years we drive thru Moab and love stopping over for a great sandwich, coffee, or fresh baked goods to continue our drive to Scottsdale or to Aspen. The salads are fresh, gyros are absolutely delicious, and their peanut butter cookies are perfect to go with the cappuccino . In addition, the bathroom is clean and always spotless. The owner is extremely friendly and helpful. Definitely worth the stop even during the winter months. We always find them open when other cafes are closed for the winter. Lily G

Best fish tacos in town! I have tried a couple of other places and Wake and Bake's tacos are definately the best AND for the great price of $1.75 per taco. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere to hang out and chat with friends or play on the internet. Try the watermelon juice. It is a bit pricey but so delicious on a hot summer day. There is always a pitcher of organic green tea available instead of just sugar filled sodas from the fountain, which is a nice option. When you go in tell Edgar at the front counter hi. He is such a sweety and is always ready to help.

I have visited this place 3 times. Once a year ago, twice this last weekend, both while on Moab vacations. I love this place and want it to open a location in my hometown. Great coffee, crepes and breakfast. Wish I was able to try the lunch and ice cream menus. I love the look and feel of this place, it sets off a great atmosphere. My only complaint is usually they play a good variety of chill, ambient music, but one of the times I went there was cheesy pop music playing, which does not fit WnB's vibe, I feel. If the owner/manager reads this - keep the pop off the speakers there! Other than that, stay classy.

I'm in Moab often for trips, and I never leave without going to Wake & Bake! The chai-gasm and mo-gasms are awesome, and their homemade granola is some of the best I've ever had.

This place is great. It's got one of those "remote Californian beach cafe" feels to it, despite it being in the far corner of a car park. The tacos were really good - great fish taco, and pretty good carnitas. The banana nutella crepe was also sweet. Ironically, for a cafe, the only letdown was the coffee - a cappucino that was 75% steam, made by someone who really wasn't a coffee drinker. Other than that, recommended.

  • J A.

Came here right after they opened. Friendly welcome from the two workers behind the counter. My sister ordered a chai-gasm which she said was wonderful. I ordered a mocha and a breakfast burrito which were also great. They also have some great non-dairy milk options that you can't get at most places. I ordered my mocha with rice milk. The prices were also incredibly reasonable. I would definetly return to this place.

Cool place, great staff, good food & coffee, free wifi, comfortable atmosphere, ample sheltered, outdoor seating. Buckwheat crepes are ace, deserts are fantastic, especially the Mexican chocolate cake. I wish they'd serve coffee in ceramic mugs by default instead of paper cups.

This place has a nice vibe and plenty of space to sit and take advantage of the wi-fi. Could use more outlets tho. Good coffee drinks, very tasty waffles (only until 11:30) and very tasty fish tacos (only 11:30-3pm). Chicken taco was good as well, but there's a reason 2/3 of people walking in midday are ordering the fish tacos- they're quite good and a lot of food for $2.50/ea. Our new favorite spot for quick eats for breakfast or lunch. Didn't have any ice cream, but it's not homemade, so don't expect anything crazy unique.

to me, it is the only coffee shop in Moab that deserve the name of coffee shop. It's relaxed, it's a little hidden, the people there are nice. My husband would only go there for coffee, he loves their espresso. I had some ice cream that is really really good. A bit expensive. I also had a 'chocolate croissant'. Honestly, for the size, 1.50 usd is way too much. But good. We did not have much more, but the coffee and the atmosphere, that's what this is about. Note that it is linked to a used book store.

All i had was gelato, it was pretty good, I had a scoop of Horchata (awesome, couldn't believe it when i saw it) and the sleepless (like coffee ice cream i guess), that's about it. There may be better coffee and gelato in Moab but I doubt i'll find it in this decade, so my memory of ice cream in moab is a fairly good one.

I am giving Wake & Bake 5 stars on the strength of their fish tacos on one visit. They have a large menu for every meal, but a local told us they have awesome fish tacos for $2.50 each, and he was right. We each had two. They were ready very quickly, but tasted amazingly fresh. You order and pay at the counter in front and they call your name to get your food when it's ready. The cafe is a bit hard to find, which is why I think it is more of a local secret. It is tucked in the very back corner of the strip mall with a small sign. Just park and go to the bac corner and you'll see it. Note there is also a creamery here that had a large selection of ice cream but we didn't try any. See Glenn's review for ice cream info.

I don't usually write reviews. I had a bad experience, however, and I feel the only way that I can feel vindicated is to write a review. This will be long and boring and i'm sorry about that. I wanted to take my son out for a nice mommy-son ice cream cone. We were wandering around downtown Moab looking for somewhere to go when I saw some people with waffle cones and they said they came from the Moab Creamery across the street. Perfect! We walked up and saw the place is called "Wake and Bake." Not exactly a family-friendly connotation but as long as they're not smoking pot right out front, no problem. The place has sort of a funky-coffee shop feel, maybe a little forced, but so far, so good. So I guess I forgot how to order ice cream because I was under the impression you order in front of the ice cream counter so you can taste the different ice creams and then pick what you want and get charged for exactly what you got. Apparently not, because we waited in front of the ice cream counter for some time watching the counter staff chit-chat in the back. Finally I went to the register. There was a $5 minimum charge for credit cards and 2 single scoop ice cream cones wouldn't quite reach that. Great, an excuse to go a little over-the-top! I ordered a $6.50 malt. The ice cream cone was $2 and my total with tax was $8.70 so that seemed about right. They were out of chocolate ice cream (!) so I said vanilla would be fine. I guess the guy who took my order was getting off so he passed it off to another lady. She got my son's ice cream and then asked me what ice cream I wanted in my "shake". That should have tipped me off, but I was distracted at the prospect of getting something other than vanilla ice cream in my malt, which I hadn't really wanted anyway, but sometimes I panic and say the first thing that comes to mind. I decided to go with the German Chocolate Cake which looked a lot like chocolate. I walked away from the counter with my tiny, expensive malt thinking this had better have malt in it. We went to sit down outside and I tasted my "malt" and, of course, no malt. At first I was just going to let it go because the lady was the only one left in there and she had gotten busy. But then I realized that I was paying six dollars and fifty cents for a 16-ounce malt, so I got back in line while my son ran around the restaurant eating his ice cream cone and getting into trouble. When I finally got up to the counter, my son was trying to go to the bathroom by himself (he's three, that's not allowed) and my realtor was on the phone, but I mustered all my kindness and told the lady in the most apologetic voice I could summon that my shake was supposed to be a malt. Of course, she did not apologize, she just got defensive and said the guy who took my order rung it up as a shake. Shakes are only $5.25 so either I got overcharged for a shake or he rung it up as a malt. By now she was out of the German Chocolate Cake so I just went with the Jack Daniels. It took several minutes to make during which my son started crying because he had to go to the potty and I hung up on my realtor. Just as she was trying to put the lid on my malt, the cup broke and half of it spilled. I couldn't make my poor little boy hold it any longer so I just took half of the malt. By then my son had finished his cone. What was supposed to be a relaxing afternoon ice cream with my son turned into a stressful, unfulfilling chore. I consoled myself with the thought that chocolate malts are not on my diet anyway. I swore I'd never go back and that I'd tell everyone I knew not to go there. Unfortunately, the people I was with wanted ice cream the next day and the only other place I knew of was closed, so I was forced to give it another chance. There was still slow, poor service but at least this time I got what I ordered (a single scoop in a waffle cone, not too difficult). I still wouldn't recommend going there unless you REALLY want some ice cream and it's after three on a Sunday, when the place across the street closes.

Simply the best. The granola was out of this world! More than enough to get started on a good out hiking and keep me going. Will be my first place to stop next time I am in town. The counter service was excellent too! Friendly with good advice.
