The Pie Pizzeria Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

Who knew that there is another Pie Pizzeria all the way out here? I sure didn't! I was super surprised to find out that there wasn't only one, but two Pie Pizzeria in existence. I'll be frank, I like this location a lot more better just because it is not as grungy, packed, or small as the original location. And for some reason, the pizza to me just tastes better here! It just does and that makes me choose this location over the other. I'd give it five stars...but since it's not the original it gets four although I like it better. The only thing that I don't like is that it's far away for me...oh well. Recommendation(s): The BBQ Chicken Cilantro Pizza (ask for it with added red onions) and/or The Chicken Ranch Pizza.

Great pies. They will do vegan cheese and custom orders. I love this place! I have always had great service and even had big parties at several locations. If you love pizza and the college pizza joint feel you will love this place. I do think the apocalyptic dough is most amazing! Must love spicy!

We went here for a work group. Wasn't the best pizza ever but I wouldn't mind going back. We ordered 5 different pizzas best way to test out their specialties: Ranch Chicken - this was probably my favorite Combo - I think only one person had a slice, it looked like it had way too much meat. Hawaiian - While I didn't try this a friend said it was good but the ham was too many. Meat - Lots of meat, I didn't try this but it wasn't as popular as the other options. Cheese - I love cheese pizzas and this was really good! Breadsticks - Was pretty average The pizza's were very thick, a little too think for my taste but if thick is your thing this would be great! We grossly overestimated how many pizza to order, there was 12 of us and we thought 3 slices a person was enough but we actually had about 2.5 whole pies left.

The best pizza around and definitely worth the couple extra dollars! They are generous with toppings! You will not be disappointed! And all the employees are way nice. I won't go anywhere else for pizza anymore!

This place is alright! Good atmosphere and fun patio with live music but the food needs help. I got the small BBQ cilantro pizza and it looked really good but the dough wasn't cooked through and the chicken left a weird aftertaste in my mouth and my pregnant fiances. We usually get pepperoni or meat lovers but this time the food was kind of gross. You can't mess around with chicken cause that is pretty dangerous.

It's all about location. And this particular location isn't doing any favors for The Pie. It's not bad, but it's in a strip mall so far removed from any history or tradition that you really just have to focus on the food. And while that's not entirely bad, the food isn't (nor does it try to) blow you away and make you forget about your surroundings. I think there's a place for The Pie in Utah's pizza scene. I'll save you the trouble of looking up my review for the U of U location; I gave it five glorious stars and got a few raised eyebrows from friends. Again, it's all about location. The spot up at the U is dark, underground, and a veritable house of worship for many a student. So it's worthy of a visit and high rating. Here at the Midvale location, you're a far cry from the personality of the campus locale. The pizza isn't bad, really. Greasy? Oh ya. Dripping with cheesy indulgence. And it comes out fast. But sans campus charms there's not much to get your blood pumping. There's a big window where you can watch the dudes in the backroom (I assume there are ladies, too. I just only see dudes there) so it's great to entertain kids by watching behind the scenes. Parking is easy enough. Plenty of seating. A screened in patio. Totally passable. But there are lots of totally passable pizza places in town.

They should learn to guesstimate better. What dumb ass working for them can't tell you the difference between 45 minutes and 1-1/2 hours because they are busy. Pizza was cold, and wrong!!

Food is 4 stars but service is 2 so 3 stars overall. Delivery takes forever. Takeout usually messes up order. That being said there wiseguy pie is delish. Love the balsalmic.

  • Annie S.

I really enjoy ordering delivery from the Pie, let me state that first. The food is above average quality for a delivery restaurant and the service is the same. The problem I have is often, they only have one or two delivery drivers employed at one time. This puts you in a queue of others waiting for their food, and often I recieve my delivery food cold or lukewarm at best., and no apology or explanation Also, the delivery times are just abominable. I wait on an average night over an hour for a simple order of a sub and side salad. Thus said, I dont think I will stop ordering from the Pie as they do indeed have some great options and delicious food. For future orders, I always keep in mind the time it takes to deliver my food and how I would like it to be presented to me. When I order from this restaurant I have now completely accepted that I will have to microwave my food and wait a considerablle amount of time before it comes to my door.

Not really sure why everyone I've talked to in Utah raves about this place. I've been to both locations and there pizzas are merely average. A little too greasy for my taste - and not to mention WAY too overpriced for the quality. I would return because their better then Domino's and Little Caesars but it's not at the top of my list.

Ah, the college pizza and beer joint that has become local legend. Truly, the best thing about The Pie is that this is gourmet pizza with high-quality ingredients generously applied for very reasonable prices. All locations of The Pie know how to whip out a hot slice in record time and you will never go hungry--especially if you order the 23" giant 16-slice pie. Generous amounts of cheese can be found on all the pizzas, Zappis (calzone) and Pull-A-Parts (breadsticks stuffed with cheese). You can custom make your pie or pick one of their specialties. Try the Pie's Combo for an amazing array of gut-busting toppings: pepperoni, smoked ham, genoa salami, mushrooms, onions, green peppers, Italian sausage, Linguica sausage and ground beef. The possibilities are nearly endless.

We all know that the Pie has some of the best pizza in Utah. It's great that they expanded so I now have one close to my house so I don't have to drive clear out to the University location. The environment is fun and they have some nice outdoor seating with a great view of... well... Walmart. Huh. Good times and good food. Now if only the price was a little better...

Heck yes! BEST PIZZA IN AND AROUND SLC! Every time family visits from out-of-state, we take them here. They love it too. Oh, and the huge pizzas they make are fantastic! Great pizza, I suggest the stromboli pizza!

I fell in love with the "original" Pie Pizzeria when I was a "U" student. And as far as the atmosphere, location, clientele, etc, there will NEVER be another Pie Pizzeria as cool as the original. But from a purely food-only standpoint, the Ft. Union location is every bit as good as the REAL Pie. Our salad, zappi and pizza were all excellent and, in a blind taste test, I wouldn't have been able to tell the difference between the two locations. This location also gets BONUS points for having a patio (shaded in the Summer and heated in the Winter). We love eating outside! The service was decent, at best, and paled in comparison to the campus location. I called ahead to ask if we could bring our own wine and the kid said, "ummm... NO, you can't!" I asked if he was sure, so he decided to ask his manager. He got back on the phone and said, "yes, you can, but there is a $5 corking fee." BINGO! Score!! Wine is BACK at The Pie!

  • Callin L.

I have been there three times and I don't know what it is but I get instant stomach ache from the cheese and grease. They have a really cool atmosphere that is where they get their second star. In the end I would way rather eat at Este's, Rusted Sun, or Big Apple Pizza.

    (2)
  • Gary M.

The pizza is still good, but I called in an order and was told 20 minutes and it took over an hour. I don't think I need to wait three times the wait. The operations here suck.

  • Craig B.

I've eaten in and done delivery here. I'll stick with delivery. The indoor seating is a little sparse and cramped. Delivery I've had pretty good luck with. I usually order on a Friday night and get my pizza within 45 minutes which is pretty good in my estimation. Love the cheesy garlic bread. And I dig the stromboli pizza. Very, very greasy pizza though, so if that's a turn-off be warned.

Quality pizza and the selection is great! I can't wait to try their ApocalyptDough...

Good pie. A bit pricey, but worth a little more cash once in a while.

  • Jack M.

Yeeeeep the Food was great!! Our experience was Great Food that took alooooooong time to make with the same pricey cost..... I just read a review that said they "spit" the food out (in reference to how fast they were) NOT!!! Took 45 min. From the time ordering our one "to-go" pizza..... Sooooo don't go if your starving ....think they went to the other PIE for our order it took so long....

I love The Pie across the street from the University of Utah. I consider it a local institution. The atmosphere is exactly what I want for a college pizza hangout. It's just like being in a friends basement or some dive bar. With Rush playing on the stereo, I expect someone to break out a beer bong at any moment. The pizza at The Pie legendary. Its probably an acquired taste for the uninitiated. They hide the toppings under a thick layer of cheese. It's usually more than most people can handle. The Pie at Fort Union is awful. The atmosphere has none of the charm or quality that the U Pie has. Fine...who cares about atmosphere at a pizza joint, right? The pizza sucks at this location. I had two slices the other day at lunchtime, and they were substandard even compared to Little Caesars. If you order slices at the U Pie you will get hot, melty slabs of death & happiness that you won't soon forget. The Fort Union Pie served me cold, flaccid slabs of no-love. With soooo many food options in this part of town why bother with this place? Wait until you can get the real thing.

Great local legendary pizza spot. doesnt get any better

On a recent trip to Utah, my family and I were looking for a good pizza spot somewhere in the area, and definitely didn't want to have to settle for a known chain like Pizza Hut. We found the Pie closeby and decided to check it out. Ordering two large pizzas - one with pepperoni / linguica, and the other with artichoke hearts / spicy tomatoes, we found that the staff there was very friendly and the service quick & quality. While waiting for the pizzas I scanned over the beer on tap, which wasn't too bad at all and contained some local microbrews that were good choices. The prices on both the beverages and food are about average for a pizza spot, no complaints on them, but awesome deals shouldn't be expected either. The pizza is pretty good. Nothing too superb, and the grease on the pepperoni was a bit much, but overall the taste and style is a solid 8/10. Their ingredients and dough are both fresh and the crust of the pizza is soft and chewy, and somewhere in the middle of a thin crust and deep dish. I would recommend this restaurant if you're in the area and are looking for a good local pizza spot.

Gotta love the pie! Great pizza and atmosphere. However, the branch offs just aren't the sames as the original U hangout. Something about dark basement, with the students.

I have let people know how horrible this restaurant is, and my review is removed!!!! The pizza is terrible! I am from Chicago. This is not good food. It's very expensive for what you get as well. I order Ginos from Chicago & have it shipped. It's still cheaper. The pizza we ordered was so disgusting that I threw it out. Please do not waste your time or money. I'm not trying to be mean. Please don't flag this as inappropriate. I'm trying to warn people that have taste buds! Worst pizza ever!

Tired of crap from the big chains I've been craving good pizza since I moved out here from back east 5 years ago. If you are looking for the real deal these guys do it up right! The buffalo chicken ranch is my favorite. My only complaint is I can't convince my wife to eat here more ;)

I chose The Pie soley because it was only 1 of 3 places that deliver in the Murray area. My husband is here on business, and baby and I are stuck in the hotel. I chose the manicotti, and added fresh spinach. Cons: The delivery was 20min late, and I didn't get utensils. Wtf? I'm in a hotel, home slice. The dinner salad was mediocre as expected, but worse because it was in the same container as all the hot food. Pros: Everyone was super nice - is this a Utah thing? The croutons on the warm salad were tasty, the cheesy garlic bread amazing, and the manicotti was divine. MUCH better than expected with fresh ricotta, chunky garlic tomatoes, and the spinach was great. I'll definitely order from them again this, perhaps earlier than the busy time, and make sure to ask for utensils. All in all, Diet Coke, salad, cheesy garlic bread, manicotti, delivery and tip under $15. Not too shabby :)

This is a funny knock off of the real Pie. All of the natural light gives it away... They have the same yummy pizza, but their beer selection is not as good at the "real" Pie. No PBR?!? I protest every time! Located in the land of the big box, parking at this Pie is so easy it will make you feel guilty. It's nice to be able to eat your pie in peace without worrying about being ticketed or towed.

Good Pizza for Utah. Somewhere in between a regular pie and deep dish, and I say this because I'm used to and tend to like a pretty thin pie. Also because the pepperoni was UNDER the cheese....which I actually liked....so much so that even after I was full I continued to pick off chunks of cheese and peperoni that had glommed together.

The first time I went here it was really good for SLC. Since then SLC has gotten some great pizza places so I've lowered my rating to 3 stars. They also have a couple of other places downtown.

We ordered 4 pizzas and cheese pull-a-parts. This place has great tasting crust and they normally use high quality ingredients. The good: Mountain of meat pizza Holy Shiitake pizza Cheese pull-a-part The so-so: Chicken ranch The Bad The Greek pizza This place is a bit on the high price scale for what you get. I will continue to frequent this place and remembering to add reviews.

We won't be back. My pregnant wife had a craving for a pizza parlor type pizza. I haven't been to the Pie in awhile and it will be forever until we go back. First off, WAY too expensive for what you get. $40 for 3 topping medium pizza, 2 side salads and 6 buffalo wings??? No service to speak of. You have to get up to order, pick up your food and get drinks, plates and utensils. Too much cheese and the toppings, for the most part, are underneath the aforementioned mountain of cheese. Side note: We had leftovers and we brought them home, but threw them out as neither of us wanted them. Just don't bother. For good pizza parlor type pizza, go to Maxwells, Este's or the like.

I've eaten at this location once and ordered delivery a few times. I've only ever ordered the Stromboli pizza (pepperoni, sausage, onions, peppers), quite frankly because it's one of their least expensive options. Their whole menu is ridiculously overpriced. Having said that, I really do like the pizza. It's big, it's flavorful, and they don't skimp on the toppings. It's pretty greasy, but I like greasy pizza. Also, the sausage is really good! If I were giving a rating on the food alone, I would probably give it five stars. It's always unbelievably delicious, and I always eat too much. But, again, I have only tried the one type of pizza. The thing that knocks it down a star for me (and I really considered giving it three) is the service. The one time I ate there, the chick working the front counter was really uninterested and unhelpful. She was more interested in talking to her coworkers than in being of any assistance. And the pizza took forever. It was in the middle of the afternoon, and there were no other customers in the place. Also, I really can't stand the fake-hipster, stick-it-to-the-man, vibe they've got going on. It's silly. Grow up. This isn't a college hangout like the underground location in SLC. It's friggin Midvale, Utah. And also, the delivery guy is some methhead doofus. The last time I ordered delivery, he stood outside my door, messing around on his phone for five minutes before he knocked. That's creepy. Anyway, the food is great! They just need to better train (or fire) the staff and get rid of the pretentious hipster wannabe facade. And fix the pricing.

This location fails to raise my blood pressure metaphorically. Physically yes, metaphorically no. I hate the layout and trying to fight off a Mormon family of 8 to get a place to sit is almost enough to send me on a mass murdering rampage. And I did not find the service particularly fast or efficient. They called me Janet after I spelled out my name. J-A-N-A. Where in the world does an NA make an ET sound. In any case, it's not horrible, but I'd avoid this location if you can. Stick to the U campus for reals. And leave your stupid family at home for the love of Christ.

  • Rick P.

My favorite pizza. I go with the 23" classic pepperoni and cheese pull a parts. A couple sides of ranch for dipping and a great time is to be had. The Midvale location is great. Easy in and out and no parking issues as seen at the U location. I hit up the Pie every time I'm in Utah.

Here for lunch and I have been to the pie in south Jordan several times and loved it. This time I ordered a slice and side salad. Salad had more water in it than the pond outside. Slice was cold. Sent the slice back and 10min min later another cold one came out. Gave up on the customer service.

Don't know why I can do a half star... Any way, no one talks about the thin crust... If you want bread and dipping sauce, get hand tossed... Nothing against the hand tossed. But no one talks about or reviews the thin crust..!?!? I I am a topping and cheese lover, sauce too... The right amount of sauce though... A happy medium.... If you want PLENTY of CHEESE and ample toppings with less crust, order the thin crust pizza..!!?!?! Really ..! Have had pizza from east to west coast. I think I have only named 1 or 2 pizzas in a top 10... This has to be DAMND!! Close to the top 5.... Yes there is "grease" Do you want real pizza? Or veggie Cali stuff??!?! Ample Cheese and toppings with the thin crust..., MMMmmm!!! Cheeeesse!! Only live once....!!!

For me, the location is awesome when looking at it from my new office location, which is basically right behind The Pie. If you don't work over here though or live close by, I don't see people flocking to this location the way they do with the original Underground Pie. There is no arguing that The Pie has some of the best crust I've tasted in all of Utah. I'm not usually a big fan of crust, but their's, I just love it. My favorite pie they have is the Holy Shiitake. It has huge mushrooms, chunks of garlic, chicken that is grilled to perfection, and the truffle oil that they drizzle over the mozzarella cheese would cause anyone to drool. I also really like the Greek pizza, although unlike the Holy Shiitake which everyone seems to love, I've had mixed reviews from the people who I've shared it with. When I order the Holy Shiitake, I have to remember to ask them to go lite on the red onions, otherwise they overpower the delicious gyro meat that covers the lemon-kissed crust on this pie. I wouldn't bother with a side salad-it's basically cut up iceberg lettuce with tomato and cucumber slices-nothing special.

i just discovered this place has gluten free pizza and immediately placed a carry out order. i use to go here all the time in college (yep down those dark scary stairs) and being back brought back some fun memories. i ordered from the midvale location and it was ready in about 20 minutes. i got the gluten free bacon ranch chicken (the most amazing pizza ever!) and it was just as yummy as i remember it! i am so happy that i now have a pizza place that i can go to regularly without worrying about being sick. i also ordered the cheese pull a part gluten free. i was actually disappointed when i first saw it since it was so flat (it should be really fluffy), but i understand since it is gluten free the texture is different. it still tasted good, but wasn't the same. so i would skip on this next time. i did enjoy using the ranch and marinara sauce to dip my crust in - it is too good! overall this place is awesome and i plan on being a regular again!

  • Sydney W.

As a person who doesn't LOVE pizza, The Pie is a place where I can go and thoroughly enjoy my meal. I almost always get a classic pepperoni and sometimes the cheese pull-aparts, both of which are delicious. They're service is usually good but the layout is a little weird but the patio is nice and has heaters for the cold weather. I will say their beer selection leaves something to be desired, but overall an awesome choice if you're looking for pizza.

The Pie serves a mean pizza. I'd give it five stars if the following morning's diarrhea was not part of the deal.

The worst pizza I ever ate in my life!!! We were a group of 4 we had the cheese pull apart, Hawaiian pizza and a pepperoni, we each had a slice and a piece of the cheese pull apart and we all came to the conclusion that it was simply horrible. We didn't even take the rest home... Dough is undercooked, sauce is too acidic, cheese pull apart needed more cheese.

  • Brooke S.

We took the kids here and really enjoyed it! The pizzas are large, made-to-order, and fresh. We visited on a Thursday night and there was a guy there playing acoustic guitar. It made for some very nice background/ambient music. Right next door is a great little custard place called Rita's for the kids.' I would definitely return.

  • Douglas K.

Beware! They put crack in the pizza sauce. It's addictive and causes euphoria. Nearly perfect crust and sauce. Seemingly endless array of interesting toppings. Killer ranch dressing. And a chill, nice staff. THE place for pizza in the Salt Lake Valley.

    (5)
  • G R.

It's good pizza. I always order it with lite cheese, extra thick crust and extra well done on the crust. It's got plenty of parking, is good for big crowds, and is a fun place to hang out. Even if it's really cold outside, the heaters on the screened in porch will keep you plenty warm.

  • Kevin S.

Any place that makes pizza as delicious as this shit hole and has the decency to hang art like they do deserve serious business. I'm talking about eating some delicious and huge pizzas while looking at a picture of John Belushi from "1941", yea it's like a slap in the face from the Pie saying "Bit#%, we're way F#€%|#£ cooler than you" ,... They might be but only because their Pizza is almost as good as sex.

Midvale UT - Get blue cheese for dipping! I seriously LOVE their blue cheese. I order a side or two with everything I get. I used to live down the street from the downtown location and the Midvale spot is good but it's just not quite as special. I've heard it speculated that the oven isn't as old and seasoned. But it's still very yummy, has a much better parking situation and much closer to where I now live. My favorite pizzas: Regular pizza with Italian meatball. Just trust me it's very good and kids like it too but it's not boring old cheese or pepperoni Buffalo chicken ranch. If you like buffalo wings get this and don't forget the side of blue cheese for dipping Chicken ranch pizza so yummy. Bacon should always be on pizza. We've eaten in the restaurant, carry out and delivery. Unfortunately the delivery seems to always arrive lukewarm even though we live less than 5 minutes away. And a warning if you've never had the pie this is a very heavy SUPER cheesy style pizza. We always use a bunch of napkins to soak up the excess oil. All their pizzas come with what normally would be extra cheese at other restuarants. We like the cheese pull a parts but honestly they aren't the best at the midvale location so unless you are downtown I'd stick to the pizza.

  • Michael R.

One of my favorite pizza places of all time!! Every time I visit the SLC area......I come back here. Love the thick crust and excellent tasting cheese they use. The place is VERY BUSY so arrive early because seating is very limited. Most people take it out during the dinner rush. Caesar salad was good too. Always good service here. I'll definitely be back again

I'm not a pizza snob by any stretch of the imagination. With that being said, I ordered one giant cheese only pizza and two caesar salads for four adults, at a cost of $39. The two salads had wet soggy lettuce. The pizza had very little (almost non-existent) sauce. It was greasy. To sum it up, it was basically one giant slab of tasteless cheese. I was able to choke down two slices before relenting to the my body's internal signs to STOP ingesting this food. The entire next day, I felt slightly nauseous, and continued to taste the pizza, as if my stomach was unable to digest the previous night's dinner. My advice... steer clear of this place, and keep on driving. A frozen grocery store Tombstone pizza is a better option.

ApocalyptDough. If you want to keep your friends from mooching slices of your pizza, go with the ApocalyptDough. That is, unless your friends love spicy things too. I first tried their ApocalyptDough with a small group of friends and I couldn't even get them to try it. As my wife said, "I can smell the flesh-melting potential from here." Personally, I didn't think it was overly spicy, but when one of my friends finally caved and tried a tiny piece, you'd think that he had just licked a hot coal. Glass after glass after glass of water was downed as he tried to cool his tongue. Some people just can't handle the heat :) I would eat here more often, but their pizzas just aren't good enough to warrant what they charge. I can go to Sam's Club and get a much larger pizza that tastes just as good for much cheaper (so long as I'm good with cheese, pepperoni, or three meat without the ApocalyptDough).

  • Shauna S.

They have basic individual pizza slices ready during lunch hours or you can order a custom slice anytime for $3. Ready in 7 minutes. Lots of cheese and a thick, chewy crust. Portions are generous. The empty tables weren't cleared or cleaned at 3:00 pm and they don't offer apple beer. :( But they deliver and their 23" pizza serves 16. Really.

  • Daniel B.

While the establishment intentionally puts on an air of being a mom-and-pop, greasy spoon, the food itself is well-prepared, creatively unique and delicious. Even their classic pepperoni slice has original flavor due to their blend of cheeses and fantastic sauce. I also really liked their Stromboli pizza which consists of pepperoni, sausage, onion, and peppers. Great combination! Wonderful place for a classic date-night to the pizza joint.

  • Josh K.

I feel like this place used to be good but maybe it's just me. Mediocre pizza with ok crust and semi fresh toppings. Pull apart pizza/cheese bread is good for small groups, poor beer selection. I really want to like this SLC staple but I just keep walking away unimpressed. :-(

Not impressed with this place lately. Couple of weeks ago we ordered carry out, one of their specialty pizza, buffalo chicken. This had to have been one of the nastiest pizza I have had in a while. I understand that pizza has grease but the amount of grease on this pizza was ridiculous. The box was soaked with it. The quality of taste was no taste. The pizza was not even spicy. I always been a big fan of the pie and I will give them some slack because according to my dad, when he picked up the pizza, the place had "we are hiring" signs everywhere. Sounds like they are short staffed, hopefully this summer they will be much better. I will give the place one more chance, but if I get a pizza like that again, they will be losing a customer.

I've been a fan of the pie for as long as I can remember. We get delivery at least once a week and they always kill it. No complaints here. Thanks and keep up the good work.

I'm a bit frustrated with what happened service wise with this place. I placed my order and told them where I was staying, they charged me and told me it would be 30 to 40 minutes. They called saying they were here and I went to the front desk, nothing. I called them back and they went to the wrong hotel. They decided they had to call their manager about it. The manager called me saying I'm a few blocks out of their delivery zone & they couldn't delivery the pizza. But if I wanted to come to the restaurant and pick up my order I could do that. Frustrated I wish they would have told me they could not deliver to me at my location. But instead of going those few more blocks...I get no food, an apology & I'm saddened this happened. Personally I think they should have listened when I told them where I was and instead of saying they are too busy to deliver my food, they should have just get it out to me. I would have tipped substantially for the extra effort. Sadly that didn't happen. I was looking forward to this pizza too... Update: got pizza from this place, finally and it was delicious! BBQ Chicken with Red Onions added is amazing :)

I went into the midvale store and everyone was very friendly. They had live music going which was very pleasing and up beat. I tried the new monthly featured pie. It was a little adventurous but absolutely delicious. I am definitely going back there.

Absolutely the best thick and gooey pizza with layers of toppings, I cannot resist this best-in-Utah pizzeria. Of course I get my pizzas to go or I have them delivered, as I cannot bear to dine in and have to look at all the simpering rah rah posters and sports paraphernalia for the Utah Utes. These pizzas rub my nose in their juicy goodness. The creamy cheese, the mouth watering sausage, the sweet rich tomato sauce. It all assails my senses and whips me like a Ute beating ummm ... A large cat. Once the pizzas get very large, they crosscut the pizza checkerboard style which doesn't affect the taste one bit. Nothing detracts from the pizza goodness taste except for the bitter ashes of defeat that has interfered with my true enjoyment for about the last five years. I look forward to the bitterness leaving in some distant future.

It is usually super busy when we have come here, so it was hard to find a table. The wait was long, but the pizza was the usual tasty pie self. I like how you can write on the walls too.

Get the mountain of meat with extra meat grease. It is awesome. Few things in this world compare to a huge pile of meat, cheese and empty carbs and this is the place to go if you are looking for that filling feeling of gluttony and diet breaking shame.

This location is a bit odd but it is nice to have another location so I don't have to head over to the university area. I've always loved the Pie. But as I've gotten older, the less I want to eat heavy dough and thick gooey cheese. Okay that's a lie but I SHOULD WANT to eat less gooey cheese. I know a lot of people who think their pizza is a bit too greasy and heavy. And yes, when I go, I often have to use a napkin to soak up some of that glimmering grease. And sure, sometimes my toppings and cheese just slide off of the dough. But sometimes you want that right? At the Pie, you can ask for thinner crust and less cheese. I like that they're accommodating. Plus, they've got a great topping selection. Also, did you know they have a new (to me) spicy dough? And it's actually got a little bit of a kick to it! I had it done thin crust with the Wise Guy Pie toppings. Delicious. We don't even need to talk about the pull-a-parts because that's just good and I'm not sure you're from Utah if you haven't had them at least once. The only really weird thing I've experienced here is the delivery and it was a one time thing so it's just a note. I ordered a small pizza for delivery and two minutes later decided I wanted to switch to a medium. Mind you, I'm still on the call with the guy so I didn't hang up and change my mind. He said he couldn't change the order because it was already in. Uh.... really? I mean, it ended up being fine. I just added on a pull-a-part but it kind of irked me since it was literally minutes after saying I wanted a small. Oh well.

The Wise Guy Zappi is delicious. Their Veggie Zappi is delicious. Their salads are also good, as well as their cheese pull aparts. Any Zappi but the meat one, is sure to be delicious. Can you tell I really like Zappi's? My brothers (I have 4!) love their mountain of meat pizza, which I can't really speak for because it creeps me out, but they wanted me to let everyone know that you won't regret trying it - especially on a 'game' day with a whole lot of people that love mass amounts of meat. I love the downtown location - but this one is right down the street from my home, and they deliver. I have also never eaten inside of this place.. just delivery. Plus, the delivery people are actually really awesome. So I will just be happy and eat my zappi's!

The pizza I carried out from The Pie in Midvale was overpriced and under-delicious. Next time I'll hold onto my $30, thanks. We ordered a medium cheese and a large buffalo ranch with chicken. Both pies were too dense for my liking. One slice alone felt like a brick in my stomach. The chicken was placed on the buffalo pizza in a single layer, so you couldn't take a bite without getting any chicken. In theory this is a good idea, but not so much in practice. It was like there were slices of lunch meat on my pizza. Weird. Even though it's in a Wal-Mart parking lot, the restaurant seemed nice. The deck is very inviting. I'd gladly sit there and have a beer and a salad with friends.

Love this pizza. It is a must-go every time we are in Utah. The toppings are fresh and the dough is delicious.

If we could give this zero stars, we would. Picked up a pie and by the time we brought it home, (2 min. driving time) it was soaking wet on the bottom. I've never had such a terrible crust. Even after having to reheat it in the oven, it remained soggy. There's too many other places we can get good food to ever go here again. Sad.

The pizza and breads are good, except if you have to sit outside it gets cold quickly. That seems obvious but the inside seating area is so small we've had to sit outside every time except once. If you have a large group and come at night, you will most likely have to sit outside. They have heat lamps but you can't feel the heat unless you are sitting right under the lamp. The line, like the one downtown, is usually long and takes a while. I wish this location was a bit bigger but maybe that's the feel they're going for. The food itself deserves 4 stars, I rated it 3 stars overall for the environment and restaurant itself.

If you want to spend over 55.00$ for a large pizza, salad & root beer! Be my guest! Even though it is tasty, I just didn't feel right with that amount. So over priced I was stunned at the prices didn't even cut the pizza through, probably won't go back any time soon.

I usually favor the Ogden or Underground Pie on the regs. However after an extremely rad adventure I ended up in the Ft. Union area (do not ask me how I ended up here) and was craving the usual zah n Pull Aparts (aka cheese nun-chucks) unfortunately this location does not taste anywhere as equivalent as the OG or UG locations. Staff was nice but the food was rather lacking of magical melty goodness. The dough on the pizza and stix were rock hard and depressing. Although my PBR was a dollar ( I do appreciate this heavily) it was very watered down and did not satisfy my post adventure needs. I did however take the cheese nunchucks home and practiced Bruce lee maneuvers on my Justin Beiber cardboard cutout, whaaaa-pow!!!!!

Having relocated from Las Vegas I desperately miss Rosati's Pizza but I digress, everybody has a favorite pizza joint and since I can't drive six hours to Las Vegas to get a pizza mine is the Pie Pizzeria. This is a fun place, the building has flavor and the individuals who work there fit into the theme of the place. This is not the best pizza that I have ever had, it's not even the second best pizza that I have ever had but it's still pretty damn good pizza ................. what can I say, I have had some really good pizza over the years. If you enjoy pizza then the Pie won't let you down, but having said that, some of the other menu items are pretty good as well. I am a fan of the Garlic Cheese Bread, really good when it is hot, just out of the oven. The Buffalo Wings are OK, and the Deluxe Chef Salad is as good a salad as anyplace in town makes. ESPN is usually on the TV and the people watching can be very entertaining. Well don to the Pie Pizzeria, keep doing what your doing, it's working. Until next time fellow Yelper's ...................................... Be Local, Live Local, and BUY Local at places like the Pie Pizzeria.

Pizzas are amazing compared to papa johns or dominos .They take 30 to 40 min for a medium pizza but worth the wait . I would suggest this place for anyone who loves to eat a good pizza

Great pizza, and nice environment. We absolutely loved the guitarist on the patio! It really made it a cool night. We'll be back!

The pizza crust was good and so was the sauce but toppings like hamburger meat were not seasoned. I definitely will not be getting that topping again. Getting a mouthful of unseasoned ground beef was pretty gross. It takes forever to get the food so don't go over there if you're weak with hunger. I would cut back on the cheese and the amount of toppings so that the pizza can be a little more flavorful and balanced. Nothing spectacular ok for a lazy day when you don't feel like cooking.

I gave a 5-star review for The Pie over by the U, but this one deserves a different rating. When I attended the U, I used to eat at The Pie all the time. So, when I visited SLC, it was nice that The Pie in Midvale actually delivered. I ordered the Mountain of Meat pizza. While I know these are usually greasy, that isn't always a bad thing. Still, this took "being greasy" to a whole new extreme. The grease actually soaked the box that it came in. In addition, the ham wasn't even cooked on it. When I ordered it by the U the ham is a little cooked, but not too much. This tasted like thick pieces of luncheon meat. I only ate two slices because I planned on putting the rest in my fridge and eating it the next day. Anyone that is a regular of The Pie knows it is one of the best "next day" pizzas out there. But the next day, the grease just overpowered it, even when it was cold or heated, and I threw the rest of the pizza away. Because of the overpowering grease, the actual ingredients on the pizza had no flavor. Two days later, I wanted to make sure The Pie hadn't lowered their standards, so I went to the U location an ordered my other favorite pizza, The Greek. That pizza was amazing and tasted exactly like I remembered it. This is the second time I have ordered from the Midvale location while staying at a hotel off of I-15 and 72nd South and have been unimpressed both times. I mean, the pizza wasn't extremely horrible, but it was far from desirable. If you want to eat at The Pie while in the SLC area, just jump on TRAX and go to the one at the U. It is worth it.

I get it...it is in Midvale. I love the Murray/Midvale area but we always have to deal with the issue of "Utahns who drink." First, being carded at 56 is fine, I get it. But, when the beer comes to you ...and to be honest, we ordered Bud Light...and it is flat and tasteless, I usually wouldn't complain. Tonight, though, everyone at the table agreed "My God!" and I, being the carded 56 year old asked the nice man, Max, if he could do something about it. He did. He asked the manager. Saying the manager is/was worthless is an understatement. He never came over or said anything, but when I went up and asked him he told me: "The date on the beer is fine." Well!!! With an expert opinion like this...who could argue! We just ended up buying another pitcher of beer, but the point is this: as always The Pie disappoints. I used to take my football teams up to the one near the U and, frankly, we all know it is a Utah institution. But, tonight, like most of the negative reviewers here, we realized as a group that it is just greasy pizza, overpriced (one pizza, wings, pull aparts and the first crappy beers) and the follow up service has always been suspect. I understand it, of course. The Pie is the "Not Chain" pizza of Utah and has graffiti on the walls. It is time, however, for many of us to stop eating there.

TOTALLY DISAPPOINTED!!! Don't get me wrong, I love the PIe but this location sucks. Called in a carry out and when we got there, they hadn't made one of the pizzas so we had to wait. They threw in a dessert pizza but by the time we got our order it was past 9 and I hate eating that late. When we got the pizza home, the crust wasnt the same. It was thick and doughy, yuck again!! Spent over $40 bucks for 2 lousy pizzas and cheese bread?!?!

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types.
