As far as fast food goes, Astro Burger is a lot of bang for the buck. My local friend thinks it no big deal, but living in a state that has no Astro Burgers (Colorado), I must say it's almost tragic. Sure, the fries may be too thick. The service is so slow for fast food, it's like watching a tortoise download porn on Estonian Internet Explorer. But. The burgers are really, really good. And so are the greek options, including baklava, gyros, and lemon rice. I used to go to Astro Burgers in WeHo in my hometown of Los Angeles all the time when i was in high school, and this was my first time since then. And i truly enjoyed it. It wasn't just for nostalgic reasons (although I do miss late night arguments between drunk Armenians at the Hollywood location), but also because the menu had improved and the prices didn't skyrocket.

This is one good, fast food burger! The interior my might be a bit dated and the door handles are occasionally greasy, but no one goes to Astro Burger for trendy fine-dining. You go for a delicious injection of cholesterol. As the other reviewers said, the fry sauce is basically tinted mayonnaise, but the pastrami is always thick-cut and juicy, and the bacon. Guys, real bacon. Really cooked. Right then. There's nothing special about the fries, but they are thick-cut and perfectly salted. The angina is worth it.

The Astro Burger is a fantastic version of the SLC pastrami burger. I have to say I think they do the best job of putting cheese on the burger than nay one in town, the burgers are super cheesy but not over the line. The beef is good and if you get grilled onions they are well seasons and tasty. The fries are real good too. The fry sauce is a bit to much on the mayonnaise side for me, bit if that's how you like it then you will be super happy. They also have a ton of shake options that are great. All in all a fantastic spot to stop for a burger fries and a shake.

Totally recommend this place. I've been their many times & every time has been just as fast, friendly & delicious. I absolutely love their shakes & onion rings. They have great burgers & their gyros are great as well. It's great to still have places that have exceptional product while still maintaining excellent quality service.

Solid burger option, in mu book. Probably not my top choice, but it'll do when you need to gets you the protein. Mine is a sad story of Valentine's Day woe, but I'll spare you the details and just let you know that I was in need of some burger, fries, and shake. I went with the namesake Astro Burger, a cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, and a big pile of pastrami on top. I like a good pastrami burger, and although the pastrami was a little dry, it had a nice taste. It didn't really all come together as I had hoped, but I'm not one to complain much when you're stacking meat on meat. It's a winning combination. The fries were good, not soggy, and they have plenty of fry sauce to pump into a little cup and take to your seat. My main concern was the shake. As I've clearly illustrated before, chocolate banana is the great measuring stick by which all shakes are judged. Unfortunately, they commit the grievous sin of using banana syrup instead of an actual banana in the shake. Painful, really. I can't recommend that shake, though others require investigation. All in all, I quite successfully ate my feelings on Valentine's Day. The service was snappy and all was well in the universe after Astro.

Not amazing, but good enough. If you like the taste of the hole in the wall burger spots, this would be a good place to go. Not fancy at all, has your run of the mill food options. My fries are never burnt, neither are my burgers. I've never had a dry burger from here either. I do not like the fry sauce, it tastes like plain mayo to me. Easy access from State Street and have always been fast with my order.

I love hamburgers. It's my favorite food. If I were stranded on an island with an endless supply of big, juicy, delicious burgers, I would be a very happy man. And if those burgers were from Astro Burgers, I would be in paradise. It's a terrific place! I live nearby, so it's my go-to place when I don't feel like cooking anything. I'm usually there at least once a week. Their hamburgers are among the best I've ever eaten. One of my favorites is their signature Astro Burger, which is their take on the classic Utah pastrami burger. It's perfect in every way. The pastrami is very flavorful and not too salty. There's just the right amount of cheese. The beef hamburger patty is nice and juicy and perfectly seasoned. I love it! I also absolutely love their bacon cheeseburger, which is the same as their Astro Burger but with bacon instead of pastrami. And--boy!--they're not messing around with the bacon! Three huge, thick-cut slices hang over the edge of the bun. I just had one for dinner earlier this evening. Perfect! Aside from the burgers, their fries are excellent. Crispy and salty on the outside and soft and fluffy and potatoey on the inside. Just a perfect, unpretentious french fry. Their milkshakes are sweet, thick, ice-creamy goodness (their caramel shake is really good fry dip). The one time I was slightly disappointed was when I ordered their chicken strip plate. It wasn't bad, but the chicken was just plain and uninspired. I think they're just pre-made frozen strips that they buy from a distributor and throw into the fryer when ordered. Again, not bad, just mediocre. Just get a burger, and you'll be fine. They have a ton of other menu options that I might get around to trying someday, but I usually stick with the burgers. I can't help it. The restaurant itself is always very clean and orderly. The dining area is quite large for a fast food place, so it's never hard to get a table, even when they're busy. The staff is always friendly, fast, and professional, which is becoming more and more difficult to find in the world of fast food. Anyway, I've gushed enough. Go there. Eat their tasty food. You won't be disappointed.

There are a few things that really bother me since having my son. (Where my mommies at????) Probably the biggest pet peeve is MEN who don't bother to help a woman with a stroller try to ricochet her way in the door. This goes especially for THE OWNER OF ASTRO BURGER who just babbled away as I could barely get my kid in his two heavy doors. To add insult to injury, I asked the service girl if he worked there and she lied and told me "no". Which was an obviously busted myth when his family and grandson my sons same age came in. The only saving grace was the Chef ( thank you!) who cooked me eggs after the (argh) order taker told me again "no", as it was like, 11:02am. The eggs were good enough, but I will never return because of the poor hospitality. I've worked for some great restaurant owners and they would never let that fly.

after numerous visits ambience: B better for take-away than dine in. service: A- polite and quick. food: B+ a combo meal will run upwards of $8. their strength is the burger. any burger. astro burger cheeseburger w/onions, lettuce, tomato and fry sauce with a heap of pastrami on top. the burgers are always fresh off the grill, pretty good quality pastrami, decent flavor balance between beef and pastrami. bacon cheesburger possibly the best bacon cheeseburger i've ever had. why? the bacon. thick, delicious, and definitely smokey. fries meh. thick cut, but no umph. fry sauce skip it. take-away fry sauce is the prepackaged stuff from sysco. overall: B+ the lack of quality fries and fry sauce almost dropped astro burger a full grade. but the burgers hold their own. usually, i don't eat burgers without fries, but i eat these burgers without them.

I've been here about 5 times in the last few months.I also tried a couple of the other Astro Burger locations and they've all been good. (The one in Draper had some funky lemon rice though!) It's a slightly cheaper alternative to Crown Burger. I always ask them to put pastrami on a Jr burger for me and they're always cool about it. The big pastrami burger is just a little too big, and the price is reasonable. The people are nice and helpful.
