This place is a lot fun if you bring along some friends! They have two pool tables, poker table, dart board, digital free jute box, and a shuffle board! My husband and I love shuffle board and our search for one in this area lead us to this gem of a bar. I am not a frequenter of bars mainly because I can't stand beer however this bar happens to carry one of my favorite ciders (strong bow). My husband who has been called a beer snob always finds something he likes here. That's not all thought! Everything I've ordered here to eat has been fantastic! The nachos come in a very large portion and are very good. I've also tried their hot n blue which was right at my limit on heat (aka very very low heat) and their Luck Old Sun this burger came out with a perfectly fired egg on top. Both were finger liking good and I know we will be coming back again.

This place was pretty cool. I'm from Texas and so it was interesting to see a place like this generous enough to offer it's customers free billiards and shuffleboard. Usually in Texas it costs money for all that and hard to get a turn even at that. I went in the place to order up a burger. There was some chick singing karaoke and just really belching it out but that's what makes a place like this fun. Good people watching fun games but what about the food? See this is where I was a bit nervous because the bar is what it is and not trying to be anything other than your traditional simple bar and that's not a bad thing. What I'm getting at is that I was worried the place would really only emphasize on the drinks they have and just serve up crap burgers. I took a look at the menu and was a little surprised by the original options. I see they have a buffalo bleu burger (buffalo sauce with blue cheese) ordered it up and although they served up a packed patty (I like the loose packed patty) the burger and patty was much better than typical full-fledged burger joints. Apparently the hand pack the patties there. Verdict: this place is fun and the burger I had was great. I would go back and I have.

Awesome place. Amazingly killer food. Favorite spot. A lot of tv's. Big and open. Free pool, shuffle board, darts. Did I mention the food is spot and fresh.

Second location for A Bar Named Sue. Housed in the former Oscar's. Parking is still a bit tight but we didn't come here to hangout in the parking lot. They've opened up the space a little and increased the lighting. They now have space for a couple of pool tables, darts and a stage. Lots of TVs as well although I'm not sure how they handle the audio. The small sampling of food I has was pretty average, nothing to write home about yet. Perhaps the Mac n Cheese or Chili will be the "it" dish but I haven't tried either yet. The staff still needs a bit more time to find there mojo as did the bartender the night we went. It's still new enough that it's not crowded and full of ******** like the original one has become. I think this will be a good addition to the pub scene for this end of the valley.

Came here Sunday night! I live in Arizona but am here visiting family so we came by. It was pretty dead.. Only a couple other people in the bar. Drinking with family we kind of got loud and crazy, staff was cool about it. 5 stars solely for the DJ working that night though! He had us laughing all night even got us to go up and sing some karaoke. His jon taffer impression was spot on and he played the cha cha slide for us too! Definitely gonna try and make it back before we leave see if it's as fun on a busier night.

I love the Bar Named Sue on Highland and thought this place would be up to the same standards. It's not!! The service was horrible. The bartender was busy paying attention to one customer so I moved to a table and the cocktail waitress was nowhere to be found. I am sad that this location has tarnished the Sue name for me.

Food, atmosphere and drinks are great for the most part. Service is actual garbage. Our bartender lacked knowledge on how to make drinks, looked uninterested and kept being on her phone.

The food was ok but our waitress was bitchy. The location on Highland Dr is much better

Could be a really cool place to hang, decor was fun, lots of big screen TVs, decent food, and clean. Unfortunately, our server was slow and terrible. We went for he first time on St. Patrick's day. We have friends that hang out here from time to time, who like it so we wanted to check it out. Our waitress didn't greet us, never smiled,, hardly made eye contact, wasn't helpful when asked for a drink suggestion. I'm not high maintenance by any stretch. I get that sometimes people have bad days, so we might give it one more try. If the service is sub par again, we won't waste our money a third time.

This place is definitely benefiting from being graded on a curve. If this place was downtown, they would need to wow me. But there is just such little action in the south valley, this place comes out smelling like a rose. So, it doesn't have the charm of the Highland location, but hey, it's a spacious place to grab a cold one, and enjoy free pool, darts, and shuffle board!

Fuck all, even if I had tits and was sitting at the bar fondling my nipples I don't think the tool bag bartender would have noticed me. I had to ask twice for a beer. For the love of God you tit serving drinks to people with money is in your job description. After moving from the bar where I was getting NO SERVICE I sat at a table and you would have thought I had the plague. I saw 3 different waitresses look me in the eye and then walk away. I guess the empty drink with the promise of a tip for doing your job wasn't enough of an enticement to do your job. When 1 finally came by and brought me a menu she left and never came back. It took me another 40 minutes to get someone to take my order. I spent 2 hours here to get 1 beer and 1 burger. If you are looking for a good place to drink and have fun....GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. Possibly the worst service I have ever had in a bar. I could have been standing on my head, naked with a flaming pole sticking out of my butt, and monkeys playing ring toss with it, and not be noticed by the staff here.

Burgers so good they'll make you want to slap yo mamma, and beer so cold that you'll forget to do it. The service is excellent too, shout out to Cass & Breanna !

Love coming here on an early Tuesday night. Reggie the bartender is always awesome and know what I like to drink. Food is great and I haven't been disappointed yet. Great place to visit on this side of the valley. Full bar and awesome selection of beers in bottle and tap. Free pool and darts too!

Eh... there aren't many options in this area, so they get an extra star because they're one of the few places to go. I've been on a couple occasions now and found it to be very, very average. One time, we had absolutely awful service and had to track our waitress down. The other times have been incredibly lackluster and don't stand out in my mind as anything exciting. The live music makes it more fun, if you're not right next to the speakers. It's reasonably priced, they have pool tables, and they have an outdoor area where you can watch the super super exciting State Street whiz by. That's about it.

So I've been looking for a good hang-out place since we've moved down to this area and I believe I've found it! A Bar Named Sue has free (yes, I said free) shuffleboard, pool, table tennis, and a jukebox. Yeah, the jukebox is free also. They also gave us a container of the silicon balls for the shuffle board table! Most other places I've been to just expect you to use your credit card to scoop it up out of the gutters. I could see how this place could get a bit crazy on a busy night, but we sat and played shuffleboard for a couple of hours and the place didn't get overly crowded (though, we did leave before the karaoke started, so perhaps that's when most of the crowd shows up). I ordered the ring of fire burger with the fries. Boy they were not joking around with this burger, it had some heat to it! I loved it. I gave a bite to my fiancee, who was instantly unhappy with me for not warning her that she would immediately want to guzzle a gallon of water. ^_^ good times. I loved the deep-fried jalapenos on it, nice touch, but not for the faint of heart. It's definitely a burning ring of fire. The fries were also great. Thick but crispy and well seasoned. The fiancee ordered The Old Sun burger. She actually gave me a bite and it was very good. Unfortunately, she only let me have one bite. She had the macaroni and cheese as the side and again, she only let me have one bite... how unfair! :P Overall, we had a great experience. We played free shuffleboard while enjoying good food, good music, and decent prices. The servers were great too. Attentive and helpful, I wouldn't have even noticed the jukebox if one of them hadn't pointed it out. It isn't your typical stand-out jukebox, it's just a touch-panel on one wall. And as one would expect, they do have Johnny Cash on it :D

Service slow, expensive. Food horrible overcooked, flavorless and quiet honestly this is fast food gone wrong.

Clean and open. Live music on weekends. Above average bar food. Had a great time here--1 set of the talented band, medium-rare burger, superior deep fried dill pickles, and an appetizer sampler with fried ravioli, veggies, and "nachos" made of their Whiskey Chips, and average-priced cocktails. Our server was very attentive.

Not what I was expecting from a bar on State St. in Midvale. Burger was excellent.

During the cooler months and the summer months it's great to sit out on the patio and enjoy a cold beer with good company. If it isn't too hot outside I recommend the patio. During football season, I recommend sitting inside and watching the games on one of their many TV's, they also have one giant TV with couches nearby so you can enjoy the game with your favorite beverage. The service is average, nothing great but not terrible either.

This place isn't bad. The service isn't EXCELLENT, and that's why there's only 4 stars. I've been there a few times. The salads were good, their sandwiches and appetizers are all good. No complaints. Pretty chill location, light and clean inside. I haven't been on a Friday or Saturday. But I've gone after work a few times and there's plenty of room, and it's comfortable to eat. Other than that, my feet feel great.
