"Hoovers not Hooter's," Just damn good food, scones generally included. Serve Bud Light on Tap! Slow cooked meat that does fall off the bone.

Overpriced and the food is average. When our group goes to Hoovers in the future, I've decided to stay behind and grab a sammich (yes, I know it's a sandwich). At least I know what I'm getting with a good old fashioned PB&J. I do like that they have a salad bar though and their scones are good if they're fresh.

We have tried just about every place in Marysvale and other places along the Piute Trail System. This is great food. I love the open salad bar and the portions are a good size. The prices however are pretty steep for a place in the boonies but it is good and they have a good list of choices on the menu and if I have to pay a bit more to have more choices in the middle of no mans land I will do it. I also like that the son of the owners runs the place and takes pride in the establishment.

We ate two meals here, the first a solid "1" star, and the second a "3" averaging a "2." Like the cabins, they don't have much competition which lends to culinary laziness and the option to gouge customers. The first meal for the family consisted of a flavorless sirloin, frozen chicken pieces, and some pretty-decent hand battered fish. The fries and sides were cold, old, and not worth a mention. The "famous" cheesy potatos were cold in the center and boiling on top, the sure sign of a microwave. Worth mentioning is that dinners come with a Utah scone that is very good. We had much better luck the second go around. The burger was fantastic, filling, and the kind that runs out of bun before the burger. The brisket was fall-apart fantastic and spent the better part of a day in the smoker. Equally good were the ribs and the BBQ sauces that came with them. We did get "Kid Menu Raped" both nights. The first was a frozen pizza stick for a few bucks and the second night was a $7 bowl of Kraft Mac and Cheese (the kind that runs about 69 cents a box). I really hate kids menus. The place seems pretty hit or miss. We had the same staff both nights so it may be the choices on the menu that drive the difference in food experience.

I'm giving a five star based on my last experience which was exemplary. In past experiences , I'd probably go a solid four on this joint. Their food is consistently good and the portions are great. I've never left without wishing I'd had a few bites less. We had the prime rib last weekend and it was outstanding! The cut likely exceeded the weight that was stated on the menu and it was a perfect medium-rare just like I had ordered. The accompanying au-jus and horseradish were great as well. The scones are awesome and I love the fact that you can order funeral potatoes as a side (for the non-Utahns, funeral potatoes are a sort of creamy potato cheese casserole with a crunchy top) Our waitress was uber friendly and went out of her way to accommodate both the adults and the kiddos. She was actually deserving of an above average tip which seems to be a rare occasion these days. Sure, it's a little out of the way but that's part of the charm. We made the trek from my family's home in Kanosh on the other side of the mountain! Another bonus was that my tired kid-demons didn't even need crayons or the dam cell phone as they were entertained by playing I-spy with all the kitschy items hanging on the wall. The salad bar is on the smallish side and I'm not sure if they have a lot of options for the vegetarian/vegan/gluten-free/no-MSG/no salt/please accommodate my weird diet people. But, as I'm not one of them, that's fine by me.

My husband and I had dinner here. Everything was perfect. We have no complaints. He had smoked grilled meatloaf with salad bar and scone and I had Italian sausage sandwich with fries. Food was good, salad bar fresh, scone was amazing, and my sandwich & fries were good. Service was friendly and fast, prices were reasonable. What more can you ask for.

Our group (five very hungry guys) ate here twice. Once for lunch and again for dinner. BOTH occasions were flawless. The food was GREAT and the atmosphere is superb! Arlyn, the owner, and his staff were very accommodating. We also stayed a night in the Kodiak cabin. The cabin had a nice layout for our large group. We will be back next year and stay longer now that we found this place!! GO SEAHAWKS (coming from a Broncos fan)!! That's for you Arlyn!

Wow! For a small town restaurant this place is awesome! Burgers were to die for and the ribs fell of the bone. The "scone" was delish, sweet and fried. Something between a fry bread and a funnel cake. Cold beer is great too after a long day riding atvs! Try it, you won't be disappointed!

What a pleasant surprise. Our group of eight hungry souls arrived famished after a 50 mile bike ride and we all walked away full, satisfied and with a box of delicious food. Thanks Hoovers you capped a fantastic day and made it even more meaningful.

We love it here!! We have been for anniversaries, thanksgiving and after a long day of adventure. The scones are amazing, the Hoover's fries are awesome, we love the burgers and just tried the ribs - all 5 stars! Thanks!

Great food even better service. We've been here a few times now. All of the standard diner/bar food is great, just as expected. Whats even better is we always show up with a fairly large crowd 20+ people and all of the staff is more than accommodating to us. The workers come out of the woodwork to lend a hand to the regular staff and make sure we're comfortable. Great people!

Fun location, decent food, a little pricey. I'm a little conflicted in writing this review, because I really like Hoover's in a lot of ways, but I can't justify more than 3 stars. I've been here a number of times during road trips and while staying at Big Rock Candy Mountain. I like the atmosphere of the place, and I have some fond memories of meals here, but when it comes down to it, the food and prices for the food don't get me past 3 stars. This is a nice, side-of-the-highway establishment that is also right next to the Sevier River. There are all sorts of ATVs parked out front and rafts and kayaks to the side of the place, ready to float down the river. There are lots of fun things in front of and inside the restaurant; it's definitely a fun place to take the family. My nephews spent much of the meal looking at all of the antiques hanging around the dining area and playing a game with each other to find various miscellaneous items. So the location is great. The service is reasonable. The people are friendly enough, and I've never had to wait too long for food. Nothing too remarkable about the service otherwise. As for the food, I've had a few different things here, and all of it has been decent. There is a really good chicken dish that I've had once or twice that comes with a side and the salad bar (more on both in a moment). For my last visit, I had the pork belly burger that was a special on one of the inserts. It was pretty darn good, and the portion was huge! The patty itself was nice and thick (1/2 lb.), and there was shredded pork belly on top of that. It was a pretty decent burger. There are a lot of good burger options here, especially on the "specials" (I think the specials have stayed the same for a few years) insert. They're huge and pretty tasty. As for the sides, the fries seem like they could be a lot better (the Hoover's fries, at least), but they came out kind of cold and soggy. If they came out fresh, they have all the potential for being delicious (seasoning, I don't think they're frozen, etc.). The shoestring fries looked pretty boring, though. And the salad bar--this is a pretty sad salad bar. I honestly am not sure how long most of the items have been there, but several of the items out on the bar are pretty clearly from a can. I don't suppose you come to a place like this for the salad bar, but it still is a pretty weak offering. The scones are delicious, especially when they come out fresh. I'm not sure where the honey butter comes from (the container is old enough that most of the writing has faded quite a bit), but it's a delicious topping. The difference for me between this being a 3-star establishment rather than a 4-star establishment is the pricing. I'm a big fan of the location and the atmosphere, and the food is good enough, but these prices are pretty darn high for what this place is. They pretty much have a monopoly in the area (there are maybe 2 or 3 other restaurants in Marysvale, once of which is a really good breakfast/lunch cafe, but there isn't anything similar to Hoovers), and they seem to charge based on that fact. After tip, my two younger nephews and I were at over $50+ for the visit, and that's without any appetizers or desserts. That's a bit much for a place that is often a road trip visit. If you're in town, Hoovers is worth a stop. Just be ready to pay a bit.

The SCONES... Oh.. the SCONES. If you like New Orlean's beignets then you will Love these! No powdered sugar BUT... sweet honey tops these Scones. The food is good and plentiful AND they have FREE WIFI so you can get in touch with family since there is no cell phone access along that strip for quite a ways. I was able to get cell phone access in front of Hoovers in just a certain location. This is a real bonus for Hoovers as well. The staff and owners are wonderful and the four wheeling is a BLAST!

You'll come across this place after miles of nothing. It looks like a horror movie if you're not used to roadtripp-ing (like me), but it's really great! They have a huge menu so there's something for everyone in the group. I got a chicken fried steak with white gravy and fries, and it came with a free salad bar plate. The salad bar is pretty pathetic so I gave my plate away, but my entree was really rich and filling. I could only finish half of it, the portions are generous. The service is really great here. I love our waitress. The place has quirky decor with things hanging from the ceiling. There's a clean bathroom available which is important since you'll probably be coming off of a 1.5 hour drive! They also sell their own Hoover tshirts, and Utah labeled hats and tees if you need souvenirs.

It doesn't look like much when you drive up, but they made me the best steak I have had in years! One NEGATIVE - DO NOT order all you can eat crab. One in our party did and the first batch came out in a nice big clump. After that they got smaller and colder. They were also in a hurry to get rid of us.. bringing us our bill before we were done eating and not asking if we wanted dessert. HOW RUDE. We spent a lot of money in there so there was no reason for that. For this reason they don't get a higher rating. They cheated themselves out of a star. =( Prime rib, ribs and filets wrapped in bacon where amazing. Decent salad bar that comes with most meals. Dessert melty, soft, hot cookie with ice cream was yum yum yum.. Don't be a piggy, split it with someone.

Accidentally stumbled on this little jewel. Enjoyed a great prime rib dinner in the quaint and charming dining room and ended up staying the night in an adorable cabin right on the river. The huge breakfast the next morning was delicious. The great staff felt more like family. Back on the road today but...We'll be back!

Had a great dinner at Hoover's. The smoked meatloaf was the best I have ever had and the amount of meatloaf and Hoover fries would easily feed 2 people. Great value and really good food-well worth the drive.
