Healthy Meal suggestions for Texas Roadhouse

I've had good meals, some great meals, but my very reasonably priced dinner last night was just OUTSTANDING! Absolutely perfectly cooked and seasoned. Rocky, manager and Sean, server took care of us, like no other restaurant. They REALLY cared that our meal was just exactly that way we wanted it. I just cannot remember having a more satisfying meal, nor having that kind of customer service.

I normally dont write reviews on chain restaurants but the service here was awesome. Could not be any better. Food was good too.

Texas Roadhouse is my niece's favorite restaurant and it's always the place she decides to eat for her birthday. This was my first visit and I was fairly impressed. All of the staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful. I have to commend the effort they put into creating an enjoyable experience for customers. It's not really a restaurant for a quick bite, it's a place where you go to have a genuinely good time- the delicious food is just a bonus. I ordered the chicken critters with a side of loaded mashed potatoes. The chicken was surprisingly good. But the shining star of my dish would have to be the loaded mashed potatoes. They had such incredible flavor. I almost shed a tear when I realized my bowl had been scraped clean and there were no more delicious potatoes to consume. Because it was my niece's birthday, she got to sit on the saddle with her ice cream sundae while the staff sang Happy Birthday. Which is her favorite part, of course. I would have to say I'm really glad I had the opportunity to dine here. The service is prompt, the food is great, and the overall experience is very entertaining.

The food is pretty good. But stop with the phony. I hate the music. I hate how loud it is. I hate when they dance and the embarrassment I have for them. I'm not going back due to atmosphere.

We ordered for a starter the blossom fried onion which was absolutely adictive . For entrée my wife ordered a 12 Oz ribeye which was excellently made as a medium steak. I ordered the bone in ribeye steak which was a big jackpot. Service was excellent and very quick.

Too many servers, so either we received duplicate orders or none. Three of our four were messed up. The sirloin and ribeye steaks were great. My chopped sirloin with mushrooms and cheese was yummy. My husband's chicken fried steak was tough and mostly batter. Their dinner salads, corn, applesauce, hot rolls with honey butter, and mashed potatoes with gravy were all delicious. Same with the strawberry/cranberry juice. Our waiter kept our glasses full and checked back several times, but it was still sloppy service.

Sometimes these guys sell cheap beer. That's a plus. They also sell ribs so overcooked that the meat becomes a kind of jelly with bones sticking out of it. Not much else to say.

Had this review been for the first time I ate there and the start of the second I would probably said the place was about average. I'd heard a lot of the buzz and my family liked going there. Attempt #1: food was mediocre at best, wait was super long and the atmosphere felt contrived. Bathrooms were dirty and too small. Meh. Attempt #2: my wife finally convinced me to give it another shot. She called ahead and was told that the wait would be 15 minutes rather than an hour plus. We show up, noisy and busy inside, tell them we are there and are asked to wait. After seeing others come and be seated we asked if we were forgotten - yep. Standing around an extra 15 minutes for calling ahead. Not a good start. We are seated and a friendly waitress comes by takes our order and offers rolls while we wait. It takes 20 minutes. No one sees us, fills our water or can be tracked down for 20 minutes. I'm getting more annoyed and am ready to leave and try for somewhere else. A friendly busser is snagged and he apologizes and gets the manager. He is very concerned and makes sure he understands why we are unhappy and makes it right. It takes an hour after we arrive to have a full glass of water and rolls. I'm not typical to make a hassle and would have simply left to not come back. Adam, one of the managers, provided fantastic service and concern that was surprising to find in a chain-type restaurant. He's the reason we stayed and gave the food another shot. At the end of the meal, my prime rib was fantastic. Some of the best chain steak-fare I've ever had. I will now be back and Adam asked that we let him know next time we are in. Very good service on top of good food. Sounds like a fair deal to me.

I have eating there many times but the food was just so so. This visit the food was so much better and the service was wonderful.

Texas Roadhouse is your typical corporate steak and ribs type place - there are both pros and cons. The atmosphere is fun and lighthearted, in that controlled, "Big Brother Is Watching You and Wants You to Have Fun" kind of way - contrived songs and dancing by the waitstaff, extra big smiles, "hey, go ahead and throw the peanut shells on the floor, just because we're wild and crazy like that!" Nonetheless, the portions are huge, the food is nice and flavorfull and fatty, and it's a relatively good deal. So, why not give yourself over to Big Brother, right?

Our server, Clint, was fantastic. Great food and huge portions. Due to it's popularity it is incredibly busy in the evenings. I recommend going early when it first opens. Smaller crowds and faster service. Best time is early lunch on Saturdays.

We're still undecided, but overall compared to say the Beehive...we prefer the Roadhouse EVERY time. Heck, the reason we started coming here was because the Beehive was absolutely horrible to us over the last year. I will ALWAYS compare places to the bad food/service at the Beehive now. Sorry for that, but that's just how awful the Beehive was to us. We're military, so we've been to a LOT of places and out of ALL the horrible places, Beehive is definately the worst. We usually enjoy our time spent at the Roadhouse, and feel that even though it's a bit pricey...it's definately worth it. We go at least 2x a month. We all have picky tastes, and it's very difficult to find a place where we can all go to eat at. However, our family of 6, loves their rolls! We almost always ask for an extra basket, because we finish them off fairly easily. The cinnamon butter isn't that great, but it's butter so...eh. The rolls are great even without butter. I like the atmosphere of the Roadhouse, but it can be VERY loud and cold. The last time we went, I had to ask the waitress to turn off the ceiling fan over our head...as we were wearing our jackets and freezing our behinds off. We were seated in a booth directly behind the hostess stand. So everytime the door was opened, we felt it. My daughters were having to snuggle up against me just to try to stay warm, we almost left. She did turn it off though, and my 3 yr old stopped clinging to me after a while. I'm not a super meat fan, but my husband is and he usually thinks the steak is "tolerable". In his terms that means, it's worth the price but it's not fantastic. We like their meat dishes in general, the ribs etc. It's all 150% better then anywhere else we have eaten at in Logan - so far. I usually either order the chicken tenders or the salmon. The salmon is iffy sometimes. The one time I sent my salmon back (was about a month ago) for being undercooked, the manager came up to our table and apologized to us. It was a nice change from the Beehive pretty much sending us crap food and acting like I should love it. I think this is one of the main reasons why I continue to go back. That alone told me that they actually CARE about their customers. When I don't order the chicken tenders, I order their burger with bacon/cheese on it. I usually order mine well done, but it almost always comes out as a dry block of meat. I don't think the chefs know how to cook a well done burger. So, I don't order their burgers. My husband always tells me I should order it medium, but why should I change my taste buds just because the cooks can't make a juicy well done burger?? I like their side salads too, as the Beehive usually gives these mushy side salads - and it's always nice to be surprised at the fact that the Roahouse knows how to drain their lettuce. In fact, my husband usually gets a side salad with his meal just so I can eat it. ;P The last time we went, my salmon was really greasy and I kept thinking to myself: "Hubby makes this better at home..." So, now I'll just stick with the chicken tenders. The chicken is almost always really good, and they give out HUGE portions of food. We usually wind up bringing lots of leftovers home. Please remember not to take their fries home, as they turn into a soggy mess within 2 hours of leaving the restaurant. The kid's menu is pretty much worse then what I'd make at home, but my kids like to eat out once in a while..so we originally tried to get them hot dogs or the mac n' cheese. The mac n' cheese has come out cold for us a few times (like lumps of goop), and hot dog buns have been hard/dry. Hence, I usually order them the chicken tenders. Service is usually decent. We have had some bad times where the servers have completely forgotten about us AND our food, but that can be overlooked. I ALWAYS get carded for any alcoholic drink (I'm 30 yrs old..). Apparently it's Utah law not to serve extra shots in alcoholic drinks? We're not big drinkers, but that huge marguarita (sp?) they offer has little to no alcohol in it...and we wanted to put an extra shot in it. Unless you get a great waiter who'll bend the rules, they don't put extra alcohol in it. Meaning, you need to finish your huge drink first...then get another shot? This is why I now order just a glass of wine, instead of their huge drinks. I'm not saying this bc I like to get blitzed, but bc I'd like like to not have a glass of chopped ice and little to NO alcohol in it. Seems to be completely pointless to call it an alcoholic drink if well..it's not really alcoholic. We almost always have to wait at least 30-45minutes just for our appetizers. This past week, I didn't get my food until well after everyone else at the table did. The prices are a little high, but they also try to seat families first. They say to call ahead for seating, it's not guaranteed. We call ahead everytime, and still always have to wait. (esp weekends) Overall, much better then the Beehive!

You'll pay a premium, but get food worth the stay. If you don't mind loud crowded places to eat and celebrate and party with your friends and family, then this place is for you. The highlight of showing up for me is getting my rolls with the honey-butter with cinnamon sugar on it. That is some of the best appetizers ever. The food is good, and again, this place is loud, so be prepared for the environment when you go.

it's ok. for a chain restaurant. My wife has tried the pork-chop twice now and each time it has come out under cooked!

When you think of Texas Roadhouse, the first thoughts are usually the rolls and steak. I am sure many people didn't think it would be the place for a great salad. You can count me as one of those people. I recently went into Texas Roadhouse and wasn't feeling steak or salmon so I ordered the Chicken Critter Salad with a side of chili. Let's start with the salad. Hands down the best salad I have ever had. The combination of bacon, chicken, tomatoes, etc will have your taste buds gasping for more. Not only is this salad amazing but the the quantity is ace as well. Now let's get to that chili. Now it's not going to win any chili contests anytime soon but mixed in with those rolls just makes for an excellent evening. I go to this Texas Roadhouse one every couple of months and will continue to do so because they never disappoint.

The best steak house I have been to short of Flemmings. The steaks are always cooked perfectly IF you order them properly! Their rare is raw in the middle, medium rare is pink in the middle but warm throughout and so on. If they screw up ( which happens, no one is perfect) they try to accomedate and go over and beyond to fix their error(s). Some people you just can't please. I grew up in Los Angeles, CA and was in and out of the "best" and "nicest" restaurants. This Texas Road House easily matches some of those high end restaurant's. Oh and if you get a known fatty steak don't complain when there is fat on it.

I'm not sure what the deal is with this place... I live in California and am here on business. This is the 3rd time I've been to a Texas Roadhouse all different locations. I went for a New York strip because my last steak (rib eye) was not that good "full of fat". I'm thinking, "I should be good to go with a new York strip, right"... WRONG!!! Nearly a quarter of the steak was fat with gristle in the middle. Are you kidding me! The steak was horrible. Although the seasoning was delicious. I didn't go to get an expensive steak to have tons of fat and gristle. So disappointing as this is my third time. Three strikes and your out. I'll never go back to this place for steak. I don't mind paying a higher price for quality food. In fact many of my friends tell me I should be a food critic and I tend to agree with them! :-)

Updated review! The service was fast, friendly and efficient. Our server was attentive and the manager also checked on us. Our steaks were cooked perfectly. Glad we decided to give Texas Roadhouse another chance.

Was here on buisness. I have eaten at a lot of Texas Roadhouse locations in the West. I think that's because they are consistent, at every location I've eaten at. This place is no different. Great staff, good food, reasonable price. Will eat here again on my next trip into Logan.

This restaurant is absolutely amazing, food was fall off the bone good. We had BBQ 1/2 chicken, ribs, best shrimp ever and steak. I love this spot and we have just moved here and I will be there a lot!!! So happy I found a good spot that's not too pricey up here in Utah since I'm from Cali we have everything at our fingertips out here.... Not so much

Went there for lunch with a work buddy. Service was fine but for god sales cook your hamburgers. They had good flavor but if you don't ask how they should be cooked they NEED to be well done. My co-worker had to deal with a raw burger while mine was just a little pink. Just because some in the Mormon community endorse a raw diet doesn't mean that the rest of us need to partake.

I just came into Texas Roadhouse at 7:10 p.m. to get a custom cut steak ( one of the few restaurants that will actually do that for you). I was told that the meat cutter in the kitchen has gone home for the evening! If I own this restaurant I would swiftly fire the manager! There are about 15 to 20 people working in here tonight and not one of them can cut a steak for a customer?! Terminate all managers at this location promptly. I have seen lots of bad reviews about this location, it has to be the management!
