The reason for the 1 star is based mostly upon price & quantity. I think their food is very good, however when you pay $7 for a burrito with no sides, and VERY little meat inside, that's a bit absurd. And to charge you another $1 just to put some salsa and cheese on top, that's a joke. Include a drink for $7, and smother it for free, and I'd probably eat here once a week. Otherwise, it's just not worth the money.

My daughter likes the salads at this place (don't know why) but I would not have wasted my own money by going there. As one commentor said $7 is a lot when there are no sides. I was waiting in the car with the kids and my daughter went inside and called me to tell me about the Chicken Burrito special. I had been there before and could only remember I was not impressed enough to go back, so when she asked if I wanted pinto or black beans I thought 'good, at least there will be something I like' I said pinto beans. What I expected was a seasoned chicken with cheese burrito with a side of rice and beans, what I wasn't expecting was to have a large flour tortilla packed with 98% rice (basically unseasoned), 1 1/2% beans and 1/2% chicken, if I even saw ANY AT ALL, and a pile of lettuce. No cheese, no dressing, no sauce, no nothing. I had cut the rice wrap in half and slowly tried to work my way through it before I had to stop (something that Never happens with me). We went over to Chik a Fila' for the kids and while I was there I purchased some chicken nuggets to add to what was left of the 'rice wrap 'burrito' (because I was raised to not waste food, especially expensive food). When I got the leftover rice wrap home I opened it up to add the nuggets and found a few more beans and a little more chicken however there is no way in this world that should have been called a chicken burrito. It was a rice wrap that tasted like crap, it was a huge waste of money and left me hankering for 'real' Mexican food. I would have preferred Rancherito, El Sol or El Toro Veijo. I should have insisted we go somewhere else for me just as we went somewhere else for the kids.

Pretty good...similar to Cafe Rio. Fresh tortillas are a plus! Mild sauce was pretty tasty. It's not exactly legit Mexican food but I'll take what I can get until I head back to California for school breaks!

I've been to a few different Costa Vida locations around Utah. BY FAR this one has the highest quality, best tasting food. My love for Costa Vida has gone so far as to convert 2 hardcore Cafe Rio fans over. We made one of them commit to a side by side, blind taste test. She was surprised when she said Costa came out on top. The owner Jim is awesome. I asked him why they don't have free desserts on the receipts and he said no one had ever asked him about it in the year and half since he's owned it. I told him that was the one thing I used to love. THE NEXT DAY every receipt had free desserts on them. I'm a sweet pork burrito, black beans, medium salsa, smothered guy. Never strayed, never had to. Excellent burrito!

Yummy! My favorite mexican in logan! It isn't amazing or anything, but definitely worth going to! It's amazingly quick, you customise your own order 100%, and it's still scrumptious! Again, my favorite mexican in logan.

I've frequented Costa Vida since it opened in Logan, and every time I go in, the service is quick and efficient, the workers are nice and friendly, and it's an enjoyable experience. Not only is the food great, but the environment is as well. Personally I like the sweet pork way more than Cafe Rio's, and the tortillas taste better too. Great spot for anyone to stop in for a quick bite to eat, and a true asset to the Logan community.

Great amount of food for what you pay. The staff is always friendly but it is so loud in there I usually have to have everything repeated. The open space is nice to look at but suck for conversation. The outdoor seating is quieter even though it is in the parking lot.

One of the most difficult parts of leaving Utah and moving to California was the loss of Costa Vida. Yes, there are Mexican restaurants on every corner here but none of them have anything like the shredded chicken salad at Costa Vida. The combination of a warm, soft flour tortilla, rice, chicken, lettuce, and a cilantro ranch that haunts my dreams makes for a very delicious meal. They did change the rice, which I'm not happy about, and they seem to cut more than shred the chicken these days but still, yum.

When I rolled into Cache Valley last weekend, I was CRAVING a delightful sweet pork salad. I knew Costa Vida has something that would satisfy that craving, and since I haven't been there for a while--I decided to give it a shot. There are a few things I learned. 1. I love being a student who they take pity on. Especially when they have specials just for me and my fellow "penny counters". So, be sure to tell them you are a student and they'll let you order the specials everyday, not just when they are promoting them. Check mate. 2. The Nachos are fabulous, but just one quick trick I would recommend: ask for an extra handful of chips, or just bring your own. Whatever floats your boat--I just don't want you to end with a pile of toppings and nothing to eat them with. You're welcome. 3. My meal was the perfect size! Costa Vida has small salads, and it filled me right up. Ask for a little bit more lettuce and a lime to go with it, it helps trick your tummy into thinking you ate a huge salad when, in reality, you ate a proper serving size (and when does THAT ever happen?) Boom. 4. The employees did not really give me their best effort, which was a bummer. They hardly looked at me while I was ordering, just talked with each other the entire time, which is usually okay--except when I am being the obnoxious customer and asking for special orders. Nonetheless, I still got what I wanted and left fat and content. TIPS & TRICKS: * Black or Pinto Beans? How about Refried? That's right, they offer not 1, not 2, but 3 different options for beans! * The best place to sit in the winter is in the far corners, they are by the doors; however, they don't allow customers to go through them. So you have your own cozy little spot to talk with your buddies, watch surfers on the television, or contemplate the meaning of life.

Costa Vida recently revamped their entire menu to make EVERYTHING, except the wheat tortillas, gluten free! Also, you can refill your horchata, unlike other similar restaurants... which I love, because it's expensive, and I LOVE horchata! I wish I thought of coming to this place more often, but I don't, really. There are other places in Cache Valley that get priority with my cravings. But, that doesn't mean they aren't good... just maybe not craving worthy. If someone suggested Cafe Rio, I would redirect them to Costa Vida.

The grilled chicken is terrible and has zero flavor - unless you count "sour" as a flavor. They also overcharge you for every little thing and don't listen to your simple instructions on how you'd like your burrito. I'm never going back to this Costa Vida.

Oh my, mouth orgasm. The shrimp baja tacos are to die for. Absolutely nothing short of delicious. The shrimp is always so yummy and fresh, with the mango salsa they make it is great. I don't often eat inside (it's always busy) but they are wonderful to me when I call it In For pick up. I don't always like chain Mexican food restaurants but this place is fantastic.

I suppose Costa Vida is technically "Mexican" but it is more like a taco bar. It's about as Mexican as Taco Bell, which is to say, not at all, outside of what your food is wrapped in. I always think it is funny what people outside of California/Arizona/Southwest US think of as Mexican food. Anyhoo. I came here with some family members I was visiting in Logan. The salads came highly recommended from my cousin's wife, so I ordered the Raspberry Chipotle Chicken Salad. You can customize your order it any way you like (very similar to Chipotle), which I always appreciate. The chicken had a nice flavor, although not very much heat spice-wise. It might be too sweet for some but I like a little sweet with my savory. The lettuce seemed nice and fresh and the other components were suitable. The portion was fairly large and I wasn't able to finish it, but I did enjoy it. The restaurant seemed fairly clean (except around the drink area) but as we were there around lunch time, it was very busy and pretty loud due to the college crowd. I couldn't hear my cousin from two seats away. But hey, that's what you get when you eat at a popular college spot. If you're looking for a quick, easy, tasty meal inspired by Mexican fare, I'd say give it a shot. Just don't call it Mexican food.

Consistently good and flavorful food. I don't know why I continue to patronize the other "Mexican" restaurants in town when they just don't compare to Costa Vida. Costa Vida is of course a copy of Cafe Rio (and similar to the now closed Bajio) which I uses to love down in the Provo area when going to school about 15 years ago. However, here in Logan I prefer Costa Vida. Particularly, the sauce with the pork (burritos and salads) and fish tacos.

Very fresh salads. We will be back. I'd love to stand and watch the tortilla making, but the service is fast, even when it's packed.

I love that they have small salads, unlike Cafe Rio. They are delicious! The nachos are really good too. All the burritos are good too.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
