This place has awesome chips and salsa! Great enchiladas, burritos and tamales. We have always had great service as well. No complaints. Keep up the good work!

Some people don't give this restaurant a chance. However if you try the smothered burrito, it's like little Mexican Angels dancing on your tongue. It's one of those meals that even though you get full you still keep eating because it is so good. A week later you find that you actually dream of these burritos at night and wish they were open 24/7. This location previously has had several other restaurants here that failed. It's great to see that these guys have lasted. Great Job

Hands down this has to be the worst Mexican restaurant I have eaten at. Ever. Even Taco Bell that shouldn't even be called Mexican food is better than what this place has to offer. The tortilla chips were dry, cold and stale. I asked, nicely, if I could get a new basket the guy said, "no that's all we've got left." It was 7:00 pm and they are opened until 10. How is it possible that they don't have anymore? The "salsa" is a plastic squeeze bottle and is basically Tabasco thickened with puree tomatoes. As others stated the menu was disorganized and confusing. I ordered the nachos and they were those same taste like someone left the bag open for a few days chips with some cheese, beans and sour cream dumped on top. The cheese was burned onto the chips and plate after clearly being heated in a microwave. My husband wanted a burrito and the only meat they have is chicken and hamburger. Yuck! Never will I ever eat there again. I gave the two stars for the restaurant was clean and not disgusting like their food.

The food was OK. It was not exceptional. The menu is kind of confusing. Salsa was not exciting.

The food was ok, better than the service from a young lady who seemed to be recovering from a rough night out. Maybe it was just her lack of personality and attentiveness.

The food is average Mexican fare. The restaurant and bathrooms were very clean and well decorated. The person who seated us was very nice but the wait staff was below average. We understand it's hard to find good help. More training and supervision may be needed. Was VERY happy they were open on Sunday.

The food here was okay. The service was below average to the point it seemed like we bugged the lady that brought out our food we said "thanks" she said "mmhhmm" and walked away kinda really puts you off

Second attempt on this place, not the same people working this time, service is better than last time, but still nowhere near an acceptable level. I had the Low Carb Chicken Fajitas dish. It is just a chicken fajitas dish without the tortillas. The flavor was ok in general, but they seem to enjoy using exceeding amount of oil in the dish, which just defeat the purpose of a supposedly healthy dish. Last time was an "eek", this time is "meh"...

It takes a lot for me to want to get up and just leave a bad restaurant. I love Mexican and have frequented many Mexican restaurants. None of which served me stale chips with spicy tasting tomato paste salsa, a taco I couldn't pick up because it was stuck to a pile of melted greasy cheese...and had no meat (just beans), in fact the whole combo plate was nothing but a TON of melted greasy cheese and some bland beans. I would not recommend to anyone. Waste of money, food isnt Mexican it's just beans and cheese. See photos.

I took my family to La Puente because we bought a couple of Go Deal Go coupons and decided to give it a try. We went on a Friday evening about 6pm. The first thing I noticed was that there is plenty of seating. I would say that about 15 booths were full when we walked in. The decor is quite spartan. They opened up about 7 months ago when another establishment went belly-up in this building. It doesn't appear that they have invested very much in making it look like a Mexican restaurant. Overall it felt clean and well maintained. We were greeted by two hostesses. It looked like they didn't have much to do. We were seated quickly in a comfortable booth. Chips and salsa showed up just after we sat down. There is one flavor of salsa. It was a bit spicy for some of us at our table, but I thought it was tasty. The chips were unimpressive. Our waiter was not quite surly, but it wouldn't have taken much to get him there. He was prompt and did his job, but didn't seem really care to be there. I didn't really feel that he was glad we were there either. It seemed to me that the rest of the staff shared some of his same sentiments. There are plenty of choices on the menu. Almost too many. It seemed that it could have been simplified a bit. It took us a while to figure it out. I had the large combo plate. It was plenty of food. I don't know what homemade authentic Mexican food tastes like because I have never been in someones home in Mexico. However, this is not your typical Tex-Mex. I felt the food was very simple and straightforward. The Chili Verde was very good. The beans were tasty. Most places use too much salt. This one did not. I appreciated it. They pile on the cheese. The tortillas obviously hand made and they tasted very good. The rice was tasty. The service was very FAST!! Once we ordered, it was only a few minutes before our food started showing up. The plates are HOT! Be careful. My wife and kids said they liked the food and everyone got plenty to eat. Suggestions: Get an interior designer to help you make the place feel like a Mexican Restaurant. Get some training for your staff. They all need to take it up a notch. Add another flavor of salsa (less spicy). Find another chip supplier. Tell your staff to SMILE. Play some Mexican music over the speakers rather than that stuff you were playing. I came in for an authentic homemade Mexican food experience. Give me one.

This wasn't great Mexican but it was okay. What made it worth the trip was the super friendly service and the discount they gave our kids for being so polite.

The food is always amazing. All of the staff is really friendly whenever we go in and Angie is always asking how the family is when only a couple of us go. The smothered burritos are so delicious! The food comes out quick and always fresh. It's a great place and never too loud.

Poor, unfriendly service. Old stale chips. Ordered chicken chimichanga and got beef. Boo.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
