Five stars, right? Well, let me explain. My order took close to 20 minutes for 10 tacos. Why the five stars? Because I sat & watched these young kids hustle to meet the demands of the drive through & the dinning room. Before I ordered, the cashier told me that they were under staffed & that my order may be awhile. So, I knew it was going to be awhile. The hustle & professionalism that these kids displayed was impressive. They need a raise. With what they had, they did great.
My husband loves Del Taco. I'm not as big of a fan unless they have the shrimp tacos on the menu. They bring them back every now and then for a short time. I stopped in to get a to-go order. I got the two crisp shrimp tacos and churro for dessert. My husband likes the bean burrito with extra green sauce and a crisp taco with no lettuce. I loved the shrimp tacos, no doubt about it. I like that they give a lime slice with each taco. The service was friendly and they were relatively prompt in making my order. Luckily I was early in the afternoon so the dinner rush hadn't started yet. On a subsequent visit, I tried their strawberry shake and liked it very much. Fresh strawberries mixed in with whipped cream on top. Great dessert after the shrimp tacos.
Great food.....great prices.....filling and satisfying.......why would anyone go to Taco Bell .........did I forget to mention the speed of service with no absence of quality and yes....a great staff....

Great Harvest Bread Company

Carbohydrate bliss! My biggest problem with Great Harvest is that I go in to buy a sandwich, and inevitably end up saving it for later because I'm full! off of the enormous complimentary slice I get at the order counter. I guess that's not really a "problem"? Ha! Oh, how I "heart" Great Harvest. I "heart" their panini's. I "heart" their loaves of bread- any, and EVERY kind. I "heart" their desserts. I "heart" their friendly employees. And then, I take my heart out for a good, long run; to keep it healthy. And to be able to justify another trip to Great Heart-vest!
My wife and I love bread with plenty of whole wheat grain for our health! To be very honest we have shopped there off and on for many years and we have had both positive and negative feelings about their bread, rolls, cookies and other items! For example we have bought the Honey Whole Wheat and have enjoyed it's texture and taste. Then our next purchase of the same bread, it would be a little drier and has a very dense texture which doesn't taste as well and it takes a very long time to toast! The bread is dried out and not edible on the next day. This bakery is not consistent with their quality! This applies to rolls, cookies and most of what they sale! If you don't mind trying to return unsatisfactory quality product to the owners which they will give you the third degree, then you might enjoy the experience!!
Awesome bread and amazing sandwiches. Great Harvest's always has a great vibe with friendly employees and have the quality of food to match the service! Love the Cinnamon Rolls, Wheat Bread, Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Bread and Rolls.

Valerie’s Taco Shop

We used to go to Ranchitos all the time in Layton and there wasn't much Mexican food here til valeries set one up. We stopped going to Ranchitos because their food are never fresh. Valeries makes their food fresh every time. We at least come here once or twice a week for breakfast then dinner. They make it so good. I've ordered rolled tacos, chicken plate then asada plate. Their breakfast burritos are way better than Ranchitos in Layton, did I mention it's cheap coming here for better quality food than Ranchitos. The people who work there are really awesome people and they would memorize my order and ask me if it was the usual. That is one great customer service right there. Trust me you won't be disappointed!
We chose to come to Valerie's after reading the reviews. As they mentioned, the decor is non-existent. But you kind if expect that with "greasy-spoon" Mexican joints. If I want decor, I'll eat at home. We ordered the taco/enchilada plate, 2 enchiladas, and a beef torta. The tacos and enchiladas were awesome. Great flavor. However, the cheese on the enchiladas wasn't fully melted, which was kind of a bummer. Cheesy hot lava goo is the best part of a cheese enchilada, and that element was missing. The refried beans were real, not poured out of a can. The beef torta was kind if light on the beef, but the flavors of the peppers, onions, tomatoes and guacamole was really good! With tortas, it always comes down to the bread. Valerie's rolls are extremely good! Light and soft, so it doesn't overpower the fresh ingredients. Had the cheese in the enchiladas been truly melted, this would have been 4 stars.
We ordered the steak torts set, carne asada rice bowl and beef chimichanga. Everything was amazing. Price very reasonable as well. I would eat here at least once a week. Drive Thru open 24 hours.

Crown Burgers Restaurant

Our family of 5 stopped here on the way home from a road trip after seeing reviews on Yelp. The employees here were not too friendly, but the service wasn't too terrible. Other than that, the food was cooked to order and quite delicious. I thoroughly enjoyed every last bite and would rate it as a strong eight out of ten!
Ridiculously delicious burgers-as it recall it had pastrami in it (deluxe something or rather)!! You can't eat anything without fry sauce. I think it's a staple in Utah. Nothing like this on the East Coast.. I wish there was something like that here because I don't want to go back to Utah just for the burger haha.
Thoroughly impressed! Wow! The Crown Burgers sells more than burgers as fast food and everything tastes fresh and delicious! For $32 my husband and I got a large chicken souvlaki and a large steak and cheese sandwich with fries not including drinks. Well worth the drive thru!

We always have a fun time there. The rooftop bar is pretty sweet in the summer time. You can't beat the cheaper drink prices either.
I don't come here on the busy nights but during the weekday or Sunday nights this place is great. Good range of music and cheap beers on tap. 3.25 for a mini pitcher of beer on tap. Billie (female) is very friendly and works a lot of the evenings I frequent. I recommend this place on slow nights for sure. I don't visit on Fridays or Saturdays because I hate crowds and they look busy.
I've never been in on a slower night, but don't go in on a Friday or Saturday night unless you want to have drunken wanna-be cowboys try to pick a fight with you. I've been in twice and both times I was minding my own business and some regulars tried to get in my face. I'll never return.

The waitress here was so nice and pleasant that I could not resist giving this place a review. I'm not really a fan of their home-made ground beef crumble burgers (so strange, you have to try it!), but the malts here are delicious- no... fantastic! Not stuffed with sugar but instead with refreshing ice bits. The interior mood here is also very pretty with a modern 50's twist.
Maid Rite is the newest on my list of great dining in Layton. It was suggested by a fellow foodie in the family that I give this place a shot. It did not disappoint. The menu is a perfect example of picking a few things and perfecting them. Our waitress was very helpful. I took her advice and tried the turkey-mac. It's incredible. I'll be back to try a shake next time. The menu is a la carte, which I like. The fried chips are amazingly good and crispy without being soaked in grease. (I'm talking to you, moondog's) The only complaint that I would have is the early closing time. 8 is a bit too early to close - in my opinion. I also like to see the owner behind the grill. It lets you know that they are passionate about their restaurant and they care about what they are serving you.
Was greeted with a very friendly worker and continued to get great customer service for my entire visit. I got the pulled pork sandwich which was excellent. The bun was really soft and the meat was full of flavor. Everything tastes fresh and the store is very clean and appealing. I will definitely come back.

I love this so much. Best frozen custard in the state of Utah.
Haven't been in for a while. Went here and had a great experience. I ordered an oreo concrete and loved it. Maybe they take forever when I order food. I came here because the bountiful location currently doesn't take credit cards. I was worried I would have a horrible experience but I didn't. They were fast and nice and I am glad I came.
Bought 2 pints today ftom Btfl store and while the texture was custardy the flavor was off. Both chocolate and vanilla tasted weak but the worst thing was they tasted old...very old. Not worth buying today. Sad because I've had good products before. Actually, this was my first visit back since I saw an unsanitary situation a couple years ago and now with the bad tasting custard from today I think I'll skip Nielson's in Btfl. The drive thru gal was super friendly and efficient.

Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt

765 W Antelope Dr,Ste A
Layton, 84041
Reviews:
Pretty good, but flavors not intense enough for me! Located in very convenient, high-traffic area. In Layton, in the Target shopping center, near Jimmy Johns & blocks from the Interstate! Across the street from Cafe Rio, Rod Works, Ross, shoe stores, beauty supplies & much more! If they added more of whatever they use to flavor the frozen yogurt, it would be great! The kids that were in my group (elementary school age) loved it as is! (Kids aren't too picky about frozen yogurt/ice desserts.) Plenty of mix-ins as well as hot fudge & caramel sauce to top your (or their) creation! YUM!
I'm not a huge frozen yogurt eater. But when I do this place is where I go. Lots of flavor choices and toppings. And the manager is really nice and helpful.
Yogurt places are in style right now, popping up all over the place. So Menchie's is not unique. It does have a good selection of both yogurts and toppings and stays open past 10:00 PM, and for that I commend Menchie's. It is a fun place if you can laugh with or even laugh at their music they play over the speakers e.g. One Direction and early 90's hits. If you want frozen yogurt, you might as well go here.
