My go-to restaurant for Chinese takeout. The menu is solid, with all of your basic offerings, as well as some more unique ones (the pineapple chicken is my favorite). Their barbecue, however, is what makes this place stand out in my opinion. The ability to mix and match in combos for a decent price puts this place in line with other fast-food Chinese restaurants, but with better quality. You'll usually have to wait 10 to 20 minutes to get your food, but it's worth it since they cook most of the food fresh. They encourage people to call in their orders, and you can pick up a printed menu inside. This is what I would suggest doing, as the ambiance is somewhat unappealing. Chinese Kitchen does a good business, and I'll definitely continue coming here. It has a quirky vibe--how they Saran-wrap the takeout boxes, for example, or the 85 cent sodas in the fridge. But hey, it works. I've never been disappointed.

This is one of our go to places. Cheap good food when two of us can eat for under ten dollars. My favorite is the jalapeño chicken rice bowl. The food is usually great but on a few occasions the fried rice has been dry.

My husband and I always get the mushroom chicken bowls. They're always consistent with quality and you get a good amount for what you pay for. I've also tried their broccoli and beef, orange chicken, and BBQ chicken and they're all delicious!

We live 45 minutes away from Chinese Kitchen. My husband stopped to grab us some take out on his way home from work. When he does this, I usually remember that the food had to travel and may not be as great as if we ate it fresh from the restaurant. However, what we got was amazing, fresh, hot food even though it was 45 minutes later! We ordered three shrimp dishes, sweet and sour pork and curry chicken. The curry chicken was sooooooo dang good! Everything was really good actually! I love that you can order three different things in a combo. The lo mein was yummy! The wontons were great! This is a step above all the many other Chinese places I've been to especially for the price. Everything was wrapped extra tight in plastic wrap which is a plus to me. The only downside so far...when you order, the guy that takes the order barely speaks English so it's a little difficult but worth it!

Three stars. One for every ten minutes I had to wait for my carryout. Less than impressed for sure. The food itself was was good portions and did taste good when I got it home.

This was the only Chinese food joint that I liked in Layton. It was really affordable too. They also asked why I came all the way from Boston to eat here..haha. My order was so fresh that it stayed hot even when I got back to my hotel.

Delicious food. Nothing at this price in the area compares. The food is freshly cooked and yummy.

We were snowed in and called to see if they'd still deliver, and they did! We ordered a large chow mein, and sweet and sour chicken, with an order of pot stickers. The price came to about $16. Everything tasted great and the delivery man was very kind. The pot stickers weren't too soft, which is how I like them. Everything was all around delicious, and inexpensive too! Definitely ordering from them again.

Without realizing it, I have become a regular to this place, and the best thing to get here is still the BBQ Pork with a rice noodles instead of white rice. Then I usually mix and match with either BBQ Chicken or the Pepper Chicken... or whatever else looks good that day. After trying all of the Chinese restaurants in Layton, I would definitely put Chinese Kitchen at the top in the Layton area. They may still looks like a Panda Express wannabe, but their food is still many times better than that massive-chain-reaction-sweeten-scooping-Americanized-Chinese-mush.

Chinese delivery shouldn't be this hard. The lady that answers the phone has zero patience when it comes to her accent barrier. I've never felt so bad as a customer while patronizing a local business. I shouldn't get yelled at while trying to clarify an address at her request. The food is on par with other reviews. Portions were great and the flavors were awesome. I will probably spot check to see if the angry Chinese lady is working by calling earlier in the day to see if she picks up. If she does, onto the next home delivery option. Holy crap. Please just calm down and don't act like i'm purposely trying to ruin your evening by ordering a delivery!

I went here for lunch because they seemed to have some decent reviews. I don't know where they got those reviews, because for me this was pretty bad. I ordered the three item combo thinking I'd get a good sample of what they had to offer. It came in the typical ubiquitous Styrofoam container and everything was just piled together in a heap. I ordered orange chicken, pepper chicken, and Mongolian beef, which came with lo mein, but there was no way to tell which was which with the exception of the lo mein. Everything I got was the same texture and color and was all covered in some type of bland gravy/sauce, same sauce for everything. The noodles used in the lo mein were the cheap, super fat spaghetti noodles you get in a school cafeteria. Not good. Maybe they were having an off day, and they seemed to be nice people but I won't be returning.

Chinese kitchen is a pretty good "Panda Express" type restaurant. They have basically the same setup as PE where you can get rice or chow mein with 1, 2, or 3 entrees. I ended up choosing the chow mein with BBQ pork and Beef with Broccoli. I have to say the BBQ pork is really good. My coworker, who's Chinese, even told me how authentic it is. The pork is red on the outside due to the marinating process which leaves the meat juicy and full of flavor. Compared to the well-cooked pork the chow mein wasn't the best, I've had better. It kind of made me wish that I had chosen the rice instead. On a plus side, the staff there are really friendly and anxious to help in any way they can. Overall, Chinese Kitchen is a good if you're in the mood for some quick Chinese food. I definitely recommend the BBQ Pork.

12 minutes from the time I hung up ordering delivery to the doorbell ringing. Twelve. I thought that would mean the food must've sat out for a while and not made to order, but it tasted very fresh. My very picky toddler ate a lot of my sweet & sour chicken. The crab rangoon was outstanding. I did have to subtract 1 star because our order wasn't 100% correct. I asked for no onions or veggies in the Mongolian Beef, and she said that would mean a smaller portion, since it was just meat. I said that was fine, we'd just throw the veggies away anyway. Our order arrived with mushrooms, zucchini, and onions. My husband picked through and said the meat was good. Next time we'll just order 2 portions of sweet & sour chicken, it was FANTASTIC. I love when places have the sauce in a separate container, so left overs aren't soggy. They also had each container wrapped in plastic, which I thought was great. Didn't leak/spill.

The food here is AAAMMMAAZZZZINGGG!!!!!!!! So this location has actually been a couple different Chinese food companys in the past. I started going here like five or six years ago when it was called Aromagarden, and a couple other different names. Now this one is awesome. (It's actually been Chinese Kitchen for a long while now). I usually get the same thing every time I go there and that is the regular Chow mein noodles with beef and broccoli, and either pineapple w/ chicken or orange chicken and it is literally cooked to perfection! Lol my mouth waters every time I go there, it is such a treat to eat their food. The owner there is also very very sweet and she's been telling me now for quite some time now to write a review on google plus or Facebook or whatever so I thought I would write a great review here that they deserve. So when you go there, try a couple different things. Get their Regular Chow mien noodles, beef n broccoli, and pineapple chicken. Yum!! Plus, if you get full early, you can just refrigerate it and enjoy the next day or the day after. Every worker and chief at Chinese Kitchen deserves this review!! Your hard work is paying off.

I found this place one day when in the area. It is run by some Chinese from Hong Kong. The food is great for the price and they will always cook it fresh for you if you want. Portions are pretty big for how much they charge. In Layton this is the only place I have found so far that will serve Cha Shao that is actually good and authentic. The service style is like Panda express, but I think the food is better. Not much seating inside so take out is sometimes preferred. What they consider spicy is really not that spicy and the fried rice is pretty generic. My rating is really around 3.5 stars for this little place to eat.

About the only place we order chinese from and come to find out now they deliver! Haven't tried it yet but they're always so nice and give a small cup of soup while we wait.

Tried BBQ (Char Siu) Pork, Sweet and Sour Chicken, Beef and Broccoli, Mushroom Chicken, Kung Pao Chicken, and Chow Mein. Every single thing we got was absolutely delicious! We were hesitant to try this place based on its hole-in-the-wall appearance, and even bailed more than once after pulling in front of the restaurant. Now I'm kicking myself for not trying it sooner! Chow Mein noodles were chewy and flavorful. Sweet and Sour sauce was wonderfully tangy and refreshingly different than typical Chinese chain-restaurants. Mushroom chicken and Beef & Broccoli were both flavorful and best of all, packed with FRESH vegetables. Nothing frozen or canned! Kung Pao was great and had a nice kick to it. And the BBQ Pork. Anyone who has ever had Mana Pua needs this pork. You just need it. Believe me. It takes me right back to when we lived in Hawaii and frequented our favorite Mana Pua shop and ordered Char Siu Mana Pua. Yum! Next item of business: the packaging. We ordered take-out and didn't tip, which I now feel horrible about. They took the time to plastic wrap each of our take-out boxes to prevent spilling, which is a major down-fall of getting take-out anywhere else. They also kept the spicy dishes in separate containers so as not to spice up the rest of the dishes, which I was EXTREMELY grateful for as we have two toddlers we were feeding as well. We will absolutely be back as soon as the next Chinese craving kicks in, which I imagine will be soon after realizing how close (and awesomely priced) good Chinese food actually is. Try it, you won't regret it!

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
