Ughhhhh. After being stranded at Hill AFB for a week I decided to stay in and make it a netflix night. I called in my order and picked up. It is literally 15 seconds from the base at the top of the hill. I went at 7pm on a Sunday and it was completely empty. I had to ask for military discount. I ordered 4 egg rolls. They were spring rolls with pork. Very thin wrappers. I ordered beef and asparagus. I swear they gave me every nasty end piece they had. I spit out every single piece that wasn't obviously a tip. I'm terribly disappointed. Then I opened the container of "beef lo mein" to find flat white noodles and a grayish-white beef. Sad again... The only saving grace was my husbands general tso's chicken because I haven't tried it yet. He's not home and I'm over this. After I finish writing this review I'm getting a Caesar salad and steak to go from Outback. So incredibly bummed. -------- UPDATE By 930 pm I was vomiting. Husband had abdominal discomfort all night and multiple bathroom runs 7am next morning I had an upset stomach.

This is another Americanized Chinese restaurant near the base. They have been in this location for many years, and they are probably the closest Chinese restaurant if you work near the south gate of the base. First visit many years ago were subpar. On this recent visit, they added sushi, a little identity crisis... For Chinese food, we got the Lemon Chicken and Singapore noodles. The chicken pieces were huge compared to most places. Singapore noodles was a little overwhelming in seasoning and a little too salty, I think they used too much curry powder. China Hill is definitely your average day-to-day Americanized Chinese restaurant if you are into them. They did not stick a Chinese flag on the Hill, just assimilated into American-style. The typical Asian poker face staff provided service to us.

I haven't found a better Chinese restaurant inn all of Davis and Weber county! Did is always on point, good prices, large servings, very clean, and very friendly service. Absolutely love this place. If you live in Ogden, I believe they own one called Fuji Dragon and it serves the same food.

I think I might have found the new Chinese place in Layton. We got a coupon in the mail, so we thought we'd give it a shot. The place is clean, like I think that somebody that works there is OCD. I'm not complaining. It's the typical Chinese restaurant atmosphere. A Chinese lucky cat greets you at the door & there are ceramic decorations everywhere. The dining room is a little small, but judging by its proximity to HAFB, as long as you don't go during lunch time on a week day, I doubt you'd ever have to wait for a table. The menu has the normal canon of dishes & entrees to choose from. (No tiny spicy chicken. Boo.) They also have a complete sushi menu. I'm not sure why, but I decided to order some nigiri. I never order sushi from these types of places. I think I've done it once before. Ever. And it wasn't pleasant. I'm guessing that the immaculately cleanliness of the place tempted me. The sushi was okay, not great but since this isn't a straight-up sushi place, I'll give them full credit for it. I ordered a pork dish & my wife had a chicken dish. Both were really good. Proportions were the typical heaping dish size. Which is good because it means that I have leftover Chinese for lunch today.

Been going to this restaurant for years. It has been good for the most part, but in the last few years it has been going down hill. Just got take-out and it was the most aweful food!!! Everything we got was bad!!! Beef with green beans limp and over cooked....fried rice was sitting 1/4inch grease....orange chicken was though(like they has precooked the heated in microwave). sorry china hill, i used to be a fan

Eaten here twice now. First time, food was very typical Americanized Chinese. It was ok. Not bad, but not great. Second time we got take-out and decided to try out the sushi menu. The crab cheese wontons were great. The sushi......not so much. Spicy mayo was not spicy. In fact, it had no flavor at all. The lemon slices on the sunset roll were waaaay too thick, and the rest of the sushi was bland at best. The fish tasted old and I literally could not chew through the tough and stringy seaweed wraps. I had to spit them out. The best I can say for their sushi was that, so far (24 hours later), I haven't gotten sick from it!

We found ourselves at China Hill by total accident when my mom decided she wanted Chinese food. On a Sunday. Not a simple request here in Utah but the lit neon sign beckoned and we gave this place a try. I have to be forthcoming and tell you I judge Chinese food places by the hot and sour soup. Some make it hot, few make it sour, and very few make it a combination of the two. This place did a great job and I found myself wanting another cup that I could slurp through the oversized spoon. I also ordered the 3 Kinds which had plenty of beef, chicken, and even shrimp. The flavor was good, the food was hot, and the service was mediocre. My only issue was that the lunch menu stated that lunch combinations were served daily from 11-3. Sunday is apparently not a "day" at China Hill and we had to order larger portions from the dinner menu.

Love this place!!! Food is authentic and the restaurant is clean. We could easily keep this place open solely with our business.

The hot and sour soup was good, as were the dumplings, and the people were nice, the sesame chicken was yummy, but the cashew chicken was mediocre at best. I'm not sure we will come back, but it wasn't a total loss.

The food was good but the service was terrible. I will not go back again, and would highly recommend to drive a little further for a better experience.

Decent food at a decent price. Not great, but not bad for the Layton area, which Seems to struggle with Chinese food.

Great hot n sour soup!!! That is the first thing I check for at sit-in Chinese restaurants...and this place passed with flying colors. Their lunch menu is from 10:30am-3pm so I ordered seasame chicken from that with steamed rice. The egg roll that comes with it was not the greatest, that is for sure. The chicken was superb! Perfectly deep fried with the best tasting sauce...not too sweet. The portions were pretty good size too. I couldn't eat all my food. I did however et every drop of my hot an sour soup! This place is great for lunch or dinner and I highly recommend it! SIgned, The Inner Fat Kid...

My sister-in-law held her family luncheon here for her wedding. It was a huge success, everyone loved the food and the service was perfect in every way!

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
