Not bad. The Kalbi and Pulkogi were good, but the sides weren't as plentiful [or as good] as Myung Ga. This location is very close to our home, so we tried it out on a whim as a family. Very nice people, very clean. I might stop in there again for a quick lunch, as the prices are less than Myung Ga, but the overall experience isn't the same. We ordered two Kalbi Specials, one Pulkogi, and one large bowl of soup to share. $35.

Tried this place with a friend who lived in Korea for a while. Was really good! Will be back. the rib things (can't remember the name) were awesome.

Best galbi I could find near hill afb. No onions but a bed of cabbage was nice. $14 with rice and 3 ban chan sides

My first visit here. The place is clean and the lady that served us was very friendly. I had the teriyaki chicken (comes with rice and vegetables) and it was so good. It was also pretty cheap for the amount of food that I got ($7.99). I love good authentic Korean food and I can definitely recommend this place.

We went there on the way to Colorado summer 2014. Yes, really "Best" Korean Japanese restaurant. We love here. So delicious food and very nice price. We enjoyed seafood tofu soup, bibimbap (Korean style mixed vegetable hot rice) and don gatz (Japanese style fried pork)!! Sure, Recommend to u if you are near Salt Lake City area or on the way to other state.

We have both lived in Korea. The food here is very bland. The kimchi was ok. The egg rolls were mushy. The service was fast and friendly. Just not fans. Our search for a good korean place continues...

I have been going to this place to either buy bulgogi for lunch or buy a jar of their homemade kimchi. For a small restaurant, their menu has a big selections or variety. I like the cozy atmosphere and customer service of this place. I can only rate the bulgogi because it's the only thing I ordered here. The bulgogi is worth a try. In my opinion, they have the best kimchi that you can buy in a jar.

Side dish and bulgogi traditional taste with steam rice, i love the beef. good restaurant, but I think the dish can be more to it such as fried egg. It will taste a lot better.

If you want some real Korean food, this is the only place you are looking for! Really good food and nice service! The owner of this restaurant is a Korean. And maybe that's why they can make real Korean food! Definitely I'll go back and it can be one of my favorite restaurants in Ogden.

On a cold night, a friend who lives in the faraway land of Ogden invited us to meet her somewhat halfway (not even close) for dinner in Layton. She was in the mood for Korean, which struck me a little funny considering we're both pescetarian, but we decided to humor her. Off we went in search of Korean in Layton, that was open late enough. Best Teriyaki fit the bill. I don't know why, but we decided to go out on a limb and try something random from the menu. That dish was Bean paste tofu soup. We also ordered extra, extra kimchi, it's a favorite. The service was phenomenal. I have never had such kind and generous service at an Asian food spot. I hate to even say that, but it's true. When our soups came, I was a bit worried because the smell coming off of it can only be described as highly fermented. I nervously took a bite, and discovered the sour fermented smell wasn't even close to how it tasted, which was a lot like miso soup, but with more character. I did panic a little when I found several tiny fetus-looking hunks of god-knows-what floating in my soup, but the broth was so good I set them aside and kept on nomming. I found out later the fetuses were probably de-shelled mussels. Whoops. The kimchi was extra delicious and we scarfed it all down, and were brought more. The only downside to this restaurant is the banchan. They are a lot on the stingy side, though they will bring out more if you ask. They only offer kimchi, spicy cucumbers and radish kimchi. More variety with the sides dishes would make a big difference.

The ambiance was good. It looked Korean with posters, magazines, and other decorations that all look Korean. The food overall was okay. The service was okay. It was the worst kimchee and cucumber kimchee I have ever eaten. The bulkogi was great. The kimbap was great too. We tried both types of kimbap and they were both good. Given the dearth of Korean food in the area, it was a good choice. The only other option was already closed for the night.

From the outside, not much to look at, and the sign out front with the Korean lettering that just hints at the goodness within. We ordered the bulgogi and Kal-bi. As mentioned in other reviews, the ban chan selection was limited, sliced cucumbers with chili sauce, shredded daikon, and kimchee. All were freshly prepared and very tasty. The kimchee had a nice balance of crispiness, saltiness, and a very subtle chili seasoning, very good. The entrées arrived quickly, the aroma was spot on, the portions large. The flavor was good, the Kal-bi had a nice depth of flavor with the sweetness of the Asian pears shining through, the beef was tender and moist. The Bulgogi has a very balanced flavor with the right hint of spiciness. While the basic flavors were there, the meat did not have any grill marks and was missing that nice top note that comes from carmelizing the sugars. Overall a good experience, the service was prompt and proffesional, the food was good quality and well prepared. If they could get a little searing action going, this would easily make 5 stars. Looking forward to returning and trying more of the menu.

Bump it up a star because I became a fan of their Bibimbap. Sometime they feature that as special of day, which comes with a free soft drink. This dish tasted better than the Korean joints down in SLC. Their other specials had gotten better too and the place is more crowded during lunchtime, I suppose they made some changes since I was here. The side veggies are still somewhat mediocre.

I'm not sure why Korean restaurants in Utah insist on going undercover as other kinds of restaurants -- but Best Teriyaki, it's safe to come out now! I know all about your homemade bulgogi and bibimbap, despite your generic-sounding Asian food name and frankly sketchy-looking store facade. I will say that I wasn't totally satisfied by the offerings here -- the soup was watery, while the meat was stir-fried in a way I'd never seen it made in Korea, and overall, it was a bit expensive. But the japchae was on point (if a bit oily), and everything was decently filling. Regardless, a meal at this secret little Korean joint is guaranteed to be healthier and more interesting than one served at the kind of ubiquitous greasy Chinese food restaurant it's pretending to be. If you live in the area or are passing through, I'd say it's worth a stop.

This place was suggested to me from a couple coworkers as a good Korean restaurant. Just like they suggested this place is good, but not great! I am a sucker for good Korean food, but I'm a little dissappointed with this place. This place is close to where I work and so it is a good place for lunch when i'm in the mood for korean food. They have daily specials where you get a drink for free with the purchase of a certain meal. That''s usually what I end up getting. My favorite Korean dishes are Galbi, jab-jae, and bulgogi and fortunately this place does a good job at all three of those dishes, but I've had better.

Out of the two Korean restaurants that I know about in Layton this is the better of the two. SLC and Provo have better places by far though. This place is small and service can get slow if a lot of people are there. Prices for the meals are reasonable for what you get, and the daily special is usually a good choice. The Kalbi here is OK and the Pork Bulgogi is pretty good. Food is made fresh but lacks some extras that other places do in the food. I prefer onions and spring onions cooked in my bulgogi and a side of lettuce and bean paste. That is usually what you get with bulgogi instead of rice and three simple sides that this place serves. The sides are OK, but nothing like what you get at other places. If you want Korean food and are in the Layton area this is the place to stop if you do not want to go down into SLC. I wish this place would change how they serve their food a little to make it taste and feel more Korean.

Great food...inexpensive....and a no non-sense owner that behaves like Sienfelds "Soup-Nazi" ! We had the Bulgogi and the Bi Bim Bab and it was ALL-GOOD! very reasonable price. Sometimes you just have to put up with less then congenial proprietors.

Food is great, friendly service. But man, lower your price. I have eaten other korean restaurant and it was cheaper in price, when i was living in california. I guess this the closing thing to home to eat korean.

i ate at this place for dinner tonight. from the moment i walked in to the moment i walked out, it was about 5-10 minutes. I had the bulgogi, my husband had the spicy beef. He's a pretty tough guy to please food wise and he commented twice on how good it was. It came with rice and ur choice of another side. we both got the veggies, which consisted of carrots and cabbage. i love cabbage, my husband hates it! and he ate every bit! the bulgogi was actually the most tender i've ever had anywhere. and since it's right up the street from our place, we'll be getting take-out from there a lot! the absolute best thing about this place was the portion size. Everytime i eat chinese, etc. they give you so much food that i feel miserable afterwards and then have a lot of leftovers. and no lie- always gain 4 lbs from it. this was THE perfect size. was full, but not miserable. i really enjoyed it! and my husband and i ate for around $17.

So has to satisfy my teriyaki craving read review and decided to give it a try. Does any body really know that teriyaki is really Japanese food no really it is . But I guess most asian cultures try to duplicate it. So this is a korean restaurant . But all in all the portians are good and the food is not that bad. Its a good thing we left when we did as we were paying the waitress bought out some soup dish that really was smelly.I will visit this place again and have something from the authentic korean menu. like Chop chae
