The atmosphere is clean and modern. I love Holladay, so the location is charming. This is why two stars instead of one. My food...was...fried? I had French Onion Soup and it was not at all like any I'd had before, which could be a good thing, but it wasn't. The top of the soup was not covered in cheese like normal (which happens to be my favorite part and reason for ordering that soup most times because...cheese!) and the breading was not in the soup, but came as a very hard, friend, crusty large crouton-type piece of bread. The soup itself was terribly oily and salty to the point that I didn't even eat half before my stomach started churning. Not to mention I got soup also because of my braces and inability to eat crunchy food. I tried to crunch up the bread thing they gave me, but it covered my hands in grease just from touching it. The french fries we ordered as a side were extremely over-priced (I paid $20 just for a side of fries and a cup of inedible French Onion Soup!) When the fries arrived they were literally dripping in grease. Yes, I am familiar with how a French "FRY" is made, but it was ridiculous. I ate a few, but couldn't stomach more than that. I had to try because I paid so much for it! Our waitress was okay. Not very observant. Didn't ask if we liked our food, which it was obvious I didn't. Anyway...I left $20 poorer, still hungry, and with a stomach ache for hours.

I had the yellow fin with couscous. It was good but for 30 bucks a plate it should have been great. Service was good . I would have rated at 4 stars if the product would have been worthy of the price.

Amazing food. We came in for brunch today; I had the smoked brisket hash, orange juice and the Falling Leaf cocktail. My SO had the burger with fries and some other cocktail whose name I can't recall. It was fun sitting at the bar and watching the chef and cooks in the kitchen. Friendly staff and everyone was courteous. Can't wait to come back!!

Had burger and fries, thought it was really good. Ask for bread to, it was tasty. Good experience

I loved eating here! We live in the south part of the valley & were so happy to not have to go downtown to Cooper Onion (although I love Copper Onion!). We started with the Cheese Plate. It had an array of delicious cheeses served with crostini bread. Perfect first course! My husband had the Beef Bourguignon. The beef and pasta were cooked perfectly, no cutting necessary, it fell apart! I had Mary's Chicken, the sauce was to die for. So delicious! Can't wait to go back

The fish was rancid. It looked nice but three entrees were not good. Also they served a spider in a water glass. I advise to stay away.

Great service and great food. The Caesar salad was to die for, and the steak frites and fries were bomb. The fish was o-k, it had a very strange sauce underneath it, but everything else was great. I wasn't a fan of the texture of their octopus, but everything else was great. The molten chocolate desert was also delicious. I def recommend this place.

I had a wonderful experience here! It was one of the best meals I've had in a long time. Went with two of my girlfriends and we all agreed that the octopus appetizer was AMAZING. Drinks were good and food was amazing. Worth the splurge.

Great little upscale restaurant in Holiday! Food was wonderful and the service was great!!! I will recommend this place to everyone. I had the Steak Frites and the tuna appetizer. That was absolutely amazing, but the Cheesecake was out of this world!!! If you get to Salt Lake make sure to check this place out.

Close....very, very close. This new (2015) addition to Holladay is welcome as the community brings new life and gathering points at its crossroads. The Bistro-style can produce some different experiences. Open kitchen and an active wait staff means tables in close proximity to the action will deal with noise and some jostling. You can either embrace it...or ask to be kept as far away as possible. The food was quite good and well-presented. The menu has a limited range, but generally can reach most palates. They tend to recommend the pork chop...and if you are carnivore, it's a good suggestion. Wild rice and beet greens make for nice sides. The chop itself is a well-flavored, if smallish, cut. Mine was plagued by a bit of gristle that was a little disappointing. The wait staff was adequate on this very busy evening.

I love Copper Onion, so I was excited to try this place out because it is closer to my house. I had the roasted chicken and dumpling soup, which was delicious, but the burger wasn't very good. I love the burger at Copper Onion, but the one at Copper Kitchen was strangely sweet. It wasn't savory, and lacked flavor. I really didn't care for it. I was disappointed because they somehow messed up our order and our burgers came out really late. The server apologized and asked if we wanted an appetizer while we waited, but we didn't want to get full before our main course came out. Anyway, I think I'll give it another chance, but I don't recommend the burger, it was a disappointment.

Beautiful interior, and just what the area needed. Dinner was amazing, we ordered a lot of the small plates to share because we had a hard time choosing what to try! Everything we had we would happily order again.

Some of the best food I have eaten in Utah. Great for a birthday lunch with friends, a business dinner with clients or a romantic dinner for 2. We loved it the first time so much we went back 4 days later. Do not miss this meal!

Great service, amazing food. One of our favorite spots in SLC. Treated as important patrons even when my friends are rambunctious and loud!

Food great...last two times dining there we were distracted by the skateboarders, bikes racing up and down the main plaza right outside our window. Not what diners want I'm sure. Coming in the front door watch out! Might want to wear a helmet..beautiful atmosphere, buzzing with energy which we like. Service good but the owners need to address the activity outside the restaurant. Others diners sitting by us commented on this also..

Maybe I should have split my reviews as I am commenting on two experiences, two days apart. The first was dinner on the Friday night before Easter. Three of us had the halibut special and it was wonderful!! We all enjoyed the meal, the service was ok, not great but ok. My only complaint was the limited wine selection and the cost per glass. I think you are better off taking your own preferred bottle and paying the $12.00 corkage fee. I would have rated that meal with 4 stars. I enjoyed it so much that I asked my husband and son to take me there for the brunch on Easter. Actually, I loved my shrimp and grits! However, my son's pork was raw and was not returned to the table until we were getting up to leave, therefore it was not consumed. My husbands steak that came with the steak and eggs was so tough that he couldn't eat it. A meal that my dog didn't complain about, but certainly nothing that should have been served to customers at a restaurant of this caliber. I know my husband said he would never go back. I'm on the fence, since I enjoyed both of my meals. Just hoping that they do a lot better on their quality control. Raw pork is dangerous and the quality of the steak should have been obvious to the chef.

Located in a nondescript mall in Holladay. Appetizers were good but not amazing. The lamb well marinaded but without anything extra, not even a single potato or leaf of lettuce. The service felt rushed. Given the experience offered, location and food I'd say everything is overpriced by at least 30%. Won;t return.

My food experience in Utah has been so bad recently, that I had begun to lose hope. This places is sooooo good. I hesitate giving anywhere 5 stars, but my experience was awesome. We had excellent service. The waiter was helpful and attentive, but not obtuse. I had an autumn named cocktail that was delicious! The cheese plate was great (I mean that's hard to screw up....). On to the main event! The octopus appetizer is TO DIE FOR. It is this giant tenticle with amazing texture. Not rubbery as squid is prone to become. It was served with a buttery sauce and generous slices of celery that added some awesome and necessary crunchiness to the dish. And some thin slices of jalapeno that added the perfect amount of heat. Not too spicy to where it overwhelmed the flavor--just the perfect amount to enhance it. I had the fish special that was served on a red pepper sauce (fairly thick) and some lentils I licked my plate clean! again, they totally nailed the heat on this dish. I can't wait to go back.

Good food but the worst service I have ever seen. We ordered and received our appetizers and drinks in a timely manner. After that everything went down hill. We ordered and waited and waited 2 hours. We had several apologies and excuses but in the end they offered no explanation or discount for poor service. Just the meals and and an abrupt check. Food was good but service is terrible. Some serious management and new leadership is in order. Simply embarrassed for this restaurant.

We dined with 2 friends, had a reservation at 7 and served dinner at 9. It was the worst service I have ever had at any restaurant of any kind. We had glass shattered all over all table, which was an accident, no big deal, but perhaps don't set up a "glass salad bar in the middle of the restaurant where waiters can run into it. Then everyone around us keep getting their meals before us and we kept asking what was going on, and our waiter just brought out an unwanted appetizer and finally told us he forgot to put in our order, with a small apology. 2 hours later we received our food, The way in which the management handled this situation was beyond acceptable. Food was only average, nothing like the Copper Onion.

We enjoyed an incredible dinner the other night. Place is busy so reservations a must on the weekend. The wait staff and the management is a well oiled team making the service 5 star. We started with the duck croquettes as an appetizer. They are a must. My wife had the pub steak which was grilled to perfection. The fries were also first rate. I ordered the ck burger and the French onion soup. The soup was not over loaded with cheese and I felt the broth had real flavor. Everything was prepared perfectly and served hot. Looking forward to a return visit. Even the bread (one needs to ask for the bread) was superb and the unsalted butter was perfect.

A great complement to the new Holladay Center and to the downtown Copper Onion. Like its sister, the food is well presented and delicious. Very attractive restaurant. Service was good. Why not five stars? A couple of reasons: This is not the place to come if you are looking for reasonable value. Prices are high for this market and portions are small across the board, especially the appetizers which were absurdly small (cheese plate with barely enough cheese for 1 at $14); it is quite loud - hard to carry on a conversation.

I'm thrilled the copper group - and their great restaurants, cool aesthetic and excellent food- have come to Holladay! We had a great meal last night. Service was fun and spot on, the copper burger was perfect as usual, wine and menu selection were excellent. Plus they've done a terrific job with the space - can't wait to go back!

Tried this place out and overall loved it. It was a lively fun place and the service was fantastic. The food was great as well for me, I had the short ribs. My husband had the steak frites which was good but not amazing, a little tough. The only complaint I really have is a design flaw. Some dishes are stored in the middle of the restaurant so bussers kept walking by our table with huge bins of clean dishes. It was kind if annoying and seems like they should be closer to the kitchen so they don't have to walk by tables when restocking.

This place is slowly getting more and more popular and you know as that goes it is busy and noisy. That doesn't stop us from indulging in awesome items on the menu. Service is always great, we tried to go Saturday night and Open Table listed opening 2 hours later in the 8pm range so we didn't end up going. Food is always prepared fresh and delicious, they don't cut any corners here. Can't wait to come back.

Great new place for the holladay area. The pace has a very cool vibe, great decide and an outdoor seating area that is nice when Utah weather behaves. The food is pretty good: -The burger is so so good, the duck fat really makes it! -Fries are great, if they added truffles I would come every day for them -Duck croquettes are delicious, and the orange sauce complements they suck very well. -Mac and Cheese is very rich and rather sweet. Too sweet for me but If you get it, plan to share because it's overwhelming. -The eggs Benedict was served with runny whites (twice) disappointing and rather gross. All in all great place but Skip brunch and go for dinner/lunch.

I have to give this place 5 stars. Whenever my boyfriend asks where I want to eat for dinner or special occasions like when people come to visit, I always pick here. The location is excellent. I haven't had a problem with the parking in the back of the building. The service is usually good. It can get busy sometimes but I usually have no problem getting refills of my drinks or whatever else I need. THE DINNER FOOD IS SO GOOD. This is what I've tried: 1) Grilled Pork Belly.* romesco, fennel slaw, baby greens, this is so delicious. I can't go here without ordering this. 2) Baked Mac & Cheese. creste di gallo, bacon, caramelized onions, the onions make it sweet and so tasty. I usually get this as an appetizer and not a side. 3) CK Burger.*niman ranch beef, duck fat aioli, caramelized onions, iceberg lettuce, house bun, choice of fries or arugula salad or add cheddar, this is very reasonably priced and tastes delicious. The truffle fries are yummy and the burger is always cooked well. 4) Steak Frites.* snake river farms pub steak, house fries, béarnaise . This is a little pricey at $26 but SO WORTH IT. This is delicious and the sauce is delectable. 5) My boyfriend got the Pork Chop.* bbq baked beans, bacon, pickled jalapeno, clifford farm egg, and says "It was the best pork chop I've ever had!". We didn't try the desert from here but hopefully I can review that in the future. We are always so full after here. Sometimes it can be nosey when it is crowded but not always. I try and make a reservation overtime I go so I can sit inside during the summer. If you go, enjoy!

Valentine's Day dinner and what better way to Celebrate than meeting Leonardo Di Caprio or at least his doppelgänger!!!! Hahaha because one of the workers looked like Jack from Titanic...the mood was definitely set... romantic and tragic at the same time. Romantic: Great service, all the staff was working together, we had various individuals of all line of work come around to check on us. Very beautiful interior with a lovely view of the open kitchen. Sat right next to the window! Tragic: The food & price did not match with everything stated above. Nothing stood out, every dish ordered was so-so. The only thing I enjoyed was the tenderness of the octopus. I wish there were half stars available!! I could not bump it to 4 because of the ridiculously uncomfortable chairs as well. Just like in Titanic, Rose let go of Jack. Sorry Copper Kitchen, I don't think I will be back.

My boyfriend was given a gift card for Christmas and we decided to try this restaraunt . First I really love this location , there are so many small shops and other eateries . Also families walking around and on their bikes . We arrived around 7 and they seated us almost right away. Our server Chad was delightful . We ordered everything to share . The meat plate, brussel sprout salad and pasta special of the day which was a shrimp pasta. The meat plate was excellent , it had three kinds of meats one which was spicy. The brussel sprout salad was my absolute favorite of the night . I've never had cold raw brussel sprouts and I fell in love. The dish contained walnuts and a white cheese and had such a great flavor. We will for sure return to this establishment , we enjoyed it !

The atmosphere was great and the staff were all very friendly. The menu was a little small and a bit fancy for my taste but I was fairly impressed by the quality. I ordered the Mary's Chicken dish and it tasted AMAZING. I do however think the dish was over priced. $24 for two pieces of chicken and a small amount of veggies is a bit high in my opinion. The cocktail menu was small but I ordered a whiskey ginger and it tasted SOOO good!! It tasted better than ones at most bars I have tried. I would go back for a special occasion where I could justify the prices and would recommend to others. The only other complaint I had was it seemed to take a bit longer than it should have for our food to make it to the table.

Copper Kitchen is the new restaurant from the owner of Copper Onion. The ambiance was great...modern but so, so cozy and really beautiful. Tall ceilings, soft lighting, beautiful art wall in the entry, very nicely designed and decorated. I love the open kitchen. Service was great. Our waiter was helpful and really knowledgable about the menu. I appreciated that, especially since the restaurant has only been open for a few days. The menu will change frequently. We tried a lot of the items on the current menu. I'm going to write about them all. Appetizers: -house pickles...these were just pickles. But somehow more delicious. -duck croquettes-duck confit, cremini mushrooms, orange aioli...DELICIOUS. Perfectly breaded and the Orange Aioli was fantastic. Salads/Soups: -pear salad-asian pear, pine nut, gorgonzola, fresh fennel, celery...perfect medley of flavors, light but filling. -chicken brodo soup-roasted chicken, sage dumplings ....best dumplings we have EVER tasted. Sides: -squash & pomegranate-brown butter, crispy sage... The squash was perfectly cooked and had a nice, seasonal flavor. Entrees: -mary's chicken-fried leg, grilled breast, roasted seasonal vegetables, mustard vinaigrette... Perfectly fried, tender, flavorful. -ck burger-niman ranch beef, duck fat aioli, caramelized onions, iceberg lettuce, house bun w/fries...Juicy, tender meat, the caramelized onions were my favorite part, but not as flavorful as I was hoping. Desserts: -apple cake...a moist cake with fresh baked apples and sauce on top. We all enjoyed it but no one was amazed. -New York cheese cake with local honey...omg. So moist, perfect flavor, honey was an amazing addition. SO...yes. It was great. The food was mostly delicious and the service was good, minus one time where they forgot to refill a drink for a while. Overall I was very impressed with how smoothly the whole evening went even though the restaurant has only been open for a few days. What I love about Copper Onion and now Copper Kitchen are the good, local ingredients and seasonal menus. This is great, straightforward, American food with a gourmet twist. I highly recommend Copper Kitchen and I think it's an amazing addition to Holladay.

SKIP THIS PLACE AND GO TO THE COPPER ONION INSTEAD April 22, 2015 My wife and I recently went for our first, and likely last, visit here. The only way I can imagine retuning is if a rich friend wants to buy us dinner there. We went for Sunday brunch and found something to dislike about nearly everything. I had been warned that it was noisy and the tables were small and the seats were uncomfortable and that there version of "spicy" can mean even a New Mexico native may have to go outside and nearly throw up - so we thought we were prepared for that (all experiences based on two visits by a couple we know who live in Holladay). However, we were not prepared for HOW noisy. The main dining room was so deafening that we sat in the hallway entrance where it seemed to be a little better. Small tables, uncomfortable chairs: CHECK. So noisy it's painful: CHECK. Skip the spicy food: not a concern this day. Then it went downhill from there. The tea was served tepid and without a plate to put the removed tea bag on (and it's a giant, skewered bag which is fun but impossible to drink around). The side of toast was listed as $4 and when I asked about that was told that "two pieces are served" as if that were something special. I pointed out that toast is always served with two pieces. At this point the server started to get a little snippy. "Well it's artisan bread made in-house fresh daily," she added. Hey, the tea not being hot and no plate for the garbage aren't my fault and anyone who has ordered toast before knows it comes with two pieces. I decided to try it based on her insisting how good it is and I ordered the sourdough. It came sized and shaped like sliced wonder-bread and tasted like any other sourdough. I'd say stop making it in-house, buy crust loaves wholesale from Harmon's (also made fresh daily!) and charge $3 for two Texas-toast-sized slices. Less work, better bread, happier customers. After 40+ minutes of waiting, my wife complained to me that the people sitting next to us who came in 15 minutes later were being served. Their server apparently overheard. Very quickly after serving our neighbors, the other waiter arrived with our food which had obviously been waiting. It was borderline "send it back" cool but we were so hungry we just scarfed it down. Fortunately there wasn't that much of it. My wife had the CHICKEN HASH that she called "a breakfast crab cake" for how it looked. She said it was average and would not get it again. It was $12 and did not come with an egg as hash legally should nor toast. She paid $2 extra for a fried egg. I had the SMOKED BRISKET HASH* which was reasonably good and curiously was mostly meat - actually too much and not enough other stuff. probably 60% meat whereas meat is usually a very small percentage of the meal. However, it was a quite small portion, about a third to a half what you would get at a diner. It was $12 plus $4 for toast. Meanwhile, our server acted as if nothing was amiss and I actually thought the other server had been a food runner. My wife had to point out that he was just doing a good deed for our person who not only never brought our food, leaving it to get cold and be served by a colleague, but then left the empty dishes to languish until the hostess cleared them. *Contrast this with 9thsouthdeli.com , home to some of the best hash in the valley, where you get more meat, five times the potatoes and toast for $9.95. The only downside is they are closed Sunday. And for the BEST HASH in the Salt Lake valley, including on Sundays, get the KOBE CORNED BEEF HASH at caffeniche.com ($11 with excellent toast). On the plus side, the hostess was wonderful and did her best to make things right when she realized our server was dissatisfactory which is why I'm giving two stars rather than one. Also, we are HUGE fans of THE COPPER ONION ( thecopperonion.com ) which was, for several years, our favorite restaurant downtown. However, I worry that now with three restaurants, my father's wise words from 40 years ago will once again come true: "An owner has to always be on site to make a restaurant or bar a great success. Otherwise, the time is divided, quality starts to slip and, with a bar, your employees rob you blind." He claimed in 1975 that a bar owned by friends of his went from $300,000+/year in profits with owners always there to just over $100,000/year with an absentee owner. This is extreme and back in the days of cash only and in a free-pour state but as anyone who has ever worked in a restaurant knows, the quality goes down and the free meals to friends go up when the boss is away. Here's hoping the KITCHEN gets better and the ONION stays great. I guess now I need to try the COPPER COMMON ( coppercommon.com )...

Was quickly seated having been kindly accommodated without a reservation. Very nice decor, straightforward, clean. Wonderful scents emanating from the open kitchen. Started with the pear salad (asian pear, pine nut, gorgonzola, fresh fennel, celery, cabbage). My wife had the arugula pasta (tagliatelle, pine nut, garlic, pecorino romano, parmesan), which was perfectly cooked al dente with a wonderful flavor. I had a special, poutine (braised beef, fried egg, gruyere, cheddar, and crème fraiche) over fries. Superb. Service was attentive, courteous, prompt, and professional. Highly recommend the Copper Kitchen. It's a great addition to Holladay.

Oh. My. Yum. Chicken Brodo or Bone Marrow is definitely the way to start. As far as entrees you can't really go wrong. The burger, chicken and pork chop are some of the best. Don't miss out on cocktails and dessert either - they're equally amazing. We've been here a few times now and every time is amazing. Consistent and wonderful.

It's not about the hype. This business is founded on good food. As I look over the brunch menu I'm thinking about other places in Utah who wish they could be what the Copper family has become. I can go in to any of the Copper locations and trust that the menu item that I choose will taste great. I can trust that the embelishments that I expect a quality resto to have, will work. When I'm eating at a joint like this one, I expect that there will be standard menu items. It's what happens to this standard faire that matters. As an example: I ordered shrimp and grits a few weeks back. My expectations were simple. Nicely cooked shrimp, tasty grits. What arrived, however, exceeded my expectations. The shrimp were plump and super tasty. The grits were buttery and rich. Were it really took off was the simple addition of chive oil. There were little pockets in the grits that exploded with flavor. Very nice. It's really all about the embelishments, the attention to little details. Another week I ordered fried chicken and eggs. The little details that mattered: skin on, boneless chicken, perfectly scrambled eggs, roasted potatoes tossed with fried herbs. I will be back, I will bring friends, and we will all eat well.

Good food, but slowest service ever. It should not take 35-40 minutes for entrees to arrive on a slow Sunday night. Burger was asked for as medium and came out rare. Pork cut was very fatty. They did comp is with dessert, and were very kind about it, but that took almost 15 minutes, and another 15 just to get the bill. I'd like to come back, but not sure.

We decided to try the Copper Kitchen weekend brunch. The table was great, the waiter friendly and the coffee was outstanding. 3 of us had the special, mushroom, onion, and bacon omelette . The bacon was almost raw, the mushrooms were mostly fiberous stems and the overall look of the omelette was grey. I could not cut my omelette with my fork. Another order at our table was completely wrong. The manager was very nice and apologetic and comped the worst meal. I have heard great things about the restaurant , it did not live up to the hype.

This place is seriously SO good. First time I went I had the Caesar Salad the house made dressing was amazing. The people next to us ordered the burger. I literally came back the next day so I could try it. Let me just say it was Gourmet Perfection. The onions on it gave it a sweet taste. So good!!

The Steak Salad was on point. And their cocktails are excellent. I highly recommend it. All the Copper restaurants/bars are excellent. This one strikes a good balance between price, quality, and selection. I will definitely be back.

I'll keep this short. If you are a meat eater, Copper Kitchen is easily a 4 to 5 star restaurant. The restaurant is sleek and modern. The service is quick and courteous and the dishes are delectable. However, and this is a BIG however, the vegetarian options are complete throw aways. What a disappointment! Came here with my mama and the hubby and spent the evening drooling over their delicious looking protein packed dinner. But because I am a vegetarian, I had a sad pasta plate that cost $14 and didn't even belong at the endless pasta bowl dining at Olive Garden. Come on Copper Kitchen! You can do better than some slippery noodles and sad tasteless pesto. Needless to say, only visit the Copper Kitchen if you are ready to eat meat or only sip on a cocktail.

Raw Eggs and Snotty Service. Ordered Eggs Benedict - the egg white part of the eggs was served clear...so raw that the eggs slid off the english muffin when the server placed them on the table. I can deal with undercooked items but these eggs were clear and raw. With about 10 staff members hovering around the plating area, you might have thought someone would have cared to notice this before it was served. I asked the waiter about the raw eggs and he immediately took the dish back for a re-do. I know poached eggs can be somewhat tricky so I was not upset. The replacement Eggs Benedict were brought out after about 10 minutes and they were perfect. Sadly, the snotty server/manager girl that placed them on the table said "I hope these work better for you." and walked away. A couple of other things... -Flavourless beef in their hamburger. A little salt and pepper would do wonders. -The person filling the ramekins on the counter dropped the squeeze bottle on the floor, picked it up, and proceed to fill other ramekins without washing it...yuk. This was our third time here and our last.

I'll keep it short- unlike the guy a couple of reviews down. The pretensions to upper shelf dining are not fulfilled here. The service staff are not seasoned pros, which is OK, but they are not very well coached either, which isn't. The food varies. One appetizer was good, but the entrees we had were all lacking in some important area. I'm a fan of the Copper Onion, and its too bad the owners have elected to expand into an area where they are apparently unable to find qualified staff, or supervise the new restaurant properly.

Amazing! This place was simply amazing and such a treat to be added to the city. First I really enjoyed the atmosphere. The inside was not noisy at all for me. But what really set the ton right from the start was the waitstaff. They were soo friendly, so knowledge, and so attentive. They really new how each meal was made and tasted. They were able to recommended a delicious cocktail and many wines. Next, the food was superb. It was unique and delicious. My group got the salmon, halibut special, and pesto pasta. Overall, great place would recommended to everyone!

For the money, I've had better food and better service. I've been here twice now, once for lunch and once for dinner. Their craft cocktails are awesome and I'd go back just to have a drink. The burger is not as good as Copper onion, it's loaded with carmelized onion and that's about the only thing you taste. The burger almost tastes unseasoned. Good fries. We also ordered the tuna tartare and what came out resembled seared (but mostly cooked!) tuna. It was tasteless too, unfortunately. I've had the pesto noodles with chicken and the chicken was cooked perfectly and was tasty. The arugula pesto was fine, but nothing special. For over $100 food bill, I really expected much better food!

I like the beef bourguignon. The beef is very tender and has a lot of flavor. The market fish was delicious. Very rich in flavor. The 1/2 cheese board was good. Dinner is wonderful. Going here for lunch isn't a good idea since the food doesn't taste good.

Great service and unique choices! Get Mary's chicken it's the best thing on the menu!

We hosted a group of 8 friends for dinner tonight, and all I can say is SIMPLY AMAZING! You would think we ordered family style because everyone was passing their plates around the table with an "oh wow... You gotta try this" look. The flavor just pours out of everything these guys put on the plate. Our favorite dishes of the night include: The octopus, clams & mussels, the burger, and the wood fired pork chop. The ONLY negative of the night was the uncomfortable bar style seating that had us all a bit stiff by the end of the meal. Regardless, this was one of the best meals we have had this year!

Outstanding. Went with our family of 7 so we had a broad sampling, and absolutely everything was delicious. The service was attentive and very customer-focused. They were late with one of our entrees (a $20+ steak), and we didn't complain at all, but they insisted on not charging us for it. I had the best beat salad I've ever eaten (included avocado), and fish over a bed of tomato garnish. Dessert was a flash-fried ice cream patty covered in cookie crumbs. A great meal!

The restaurant is located in a new complex that I had never seen before. It was almost like leaving my home town for a dinner in some new exotic place. We started with the razor clam special. Delicious and so garlicky. I had the 'fish of the day'. It was a thick piece of Norwegian salmon. Potato-chip crispy skin with medium interior. FANTASTIC! My husband had steak and frites. Perfectly cooked. I'm so glad he asked for fry sauce because it was a delicious house made remoulaud that brought 'steak and potatoes' to a whole new level. (Bernaise was good too) to finish, we enjoyed the chocolate torte. Wow. Amazing. Service was great. Restaurant is pretty. I can't wait to go back!

We came for sunday brunch. The person who sat us was pretty rude and looked not even a little bit happy to be here. Maybe he overheard me telling the rest of my party that i felt that because he completely switched to be happy and hospitable. The food was really. I ordered the eggs bennedict and i wish it came with a sign of spinich like they do at copper onion. Though the cinnamon roll i ordered was over priced it was to die for. The frosting was perfect. Will definitely return.

Indeed this is 'As good as it gets.' Starting out with the food... I ordered the pork chop with wild rice and beet greens. Positively the juiciest pork chop I have ever tasted, with soft rare bits in the middle, and crispy fat portions on the tips. Paired with a Rodeo Rye Pale Ale from Idaho, it was a meal to remember and repeat. Mother in law ordered the lamb shank, which was braised for 5 hours and falling off the bone. I believe this is one of their signatures, and rightly so. I got to try more of the lamb shank as leftovers the next day, and it was still one of the best tasting meals of my week. Wife (the vegetarian of the group) got the arugula pasta, which was also delicious and filling. The service was excellent on a busy weekend night. Unfortunately our small group was seated in such a way that we were crammed in by a very loud group of 8+ right next to us. As other reviews have noted--due to the size and layout of the dining area, this restaurant is NOISY. Perhaps my only complaint, but not worth dropping a star off of an otherwise fantastic dining experience. Can't wait to get back (once I've saved up some $$$$).

Now I went on Monday... No one seated me, so I just walked up to the counter to seat myself. The only one who noticed I arrived was the head chef... I ordered the hamburger, no cheese. It came with cheese, and faint notice to fix it... Worse, was the fries were VERY overcooked, only 15% were squishy enough to be digestible. They noticed that I ate no fires and offered to have me take them home. I said that older people like food that is digestable. I got the nod that I was "in all the time" but I felt no empathy. I think I'm done trying to enjoy the Kitchen.. Oh, the burger was a disapointment, even though it was medium rare as i ordered it, it was dry and very chewey...plus the unwanted cheese....

Went on a Monday night. It wasn't busy at all; It was quiet and had an enjoyable atmosphere. Staff was friendly and attentive. Fun swing old time Jazz on the speakers. Daddy and I sat on the patio with the beautiful fading light. We ordered the corn on the cob appetizer. Flavorful and delish. Kinda messy with aioli sauce on top, so ask for a knife. For entres we both had pasta. Rich, flavorful sauces, fresh pasta with bite, awesome array of flavorful mushrooms, etc. For desert, the chocolate torte. It was small, but all of it was so very rich. Don't go here if you want something light. Go here if you want to treat yourself. Pricing is on point with the quality.

We were lucky to be seated quickly without a reservation on a busy Friday night. We weren't hungry enough to order any starters today, but there were several items that sounded wonderful. We started right into our main courses. My husband ordered the market fish, which was salmon with zucchini noodles, piquino peppers in a light broth. The fish was light and perfectly seasoned. I'm always a sucker for steak frites. My steak was a bit undercooked for my taste (I prefer medium-rare. This was very rare.), but was still peppery and flavorful. The fries were plentiful, crispy and seasoned with herbs and salt. Delicious. We didn't have time for dessert, but I'm definitely going to try the brown sugar cake. The service was friendly and attentive. The space feels a bit cramped, but overall it was a nice experience. Another yelper mentioned this and I fully agree - the man who brought my drink did in fact look like Leonardo Di Caprio.

Great service and menu. Our waiter misquoted us the price on the special, but brought it up to us before bringing the check and honored the price he told us. Didn't like the gazpacho, but great cheese board, pasta, and burger. Family friendly.

What a pleasant evening we had here! We made an early dinner reservation for 2 and were seated by the window. The lights are dim, music is perfectly relaxed and classy, and the restaurant is lovely. It definitely parallels the lines and atmosphere of Copper Onion. Our server was an absolute delight. She was friendly and attentive even as the restaurant filled up. We began with an Old Fashioned and it was really tasty. We also started with the cheese plate. It was well worth it for us as we really enjoyed the bites. I also must mention that the bread and butter were noteworthy. We were off to a great start! We ordered their red wine of the day which was a blend. Our next course of brussel sprout salad and chicken soup was probably my least favorite. The soup was ok, definitely overpriced. The salad was fresh and while I did like the clean flavors, I thought it was very pricey for what it is. Another glass of wine and our main courses arrived. My spicy sausage pasta dish was good but not served hot. I thought the flavor was good but not the savory, delectable dish I had anticipated. We also had the scallop plate. This was probably the most delicious but most disappointing. I cannot say that we were served 3 scallops because we were served 3 halves served atop polenta. Everything on the plate worked and was wonderful, but the ratio was way off. We spent a pretty penny and for me, the entire 2 hour experience was worth it. After a long week, it was just the type of night out that makes everything fall back into balance. The place is great as you would expect from these folks. My only qualm is their price points which would bar me from dining here more often.

Wanted to love this as it is close to my house, however... both the food and the service are lacking. The two times I've been, the hostess has been snippy and before I could even ask about a table the second time informed me "you can't bring that in there" when she saw my tea cup from 3 Cups next door. OK. Well that's not a great start. I probably eat out 5 times a week and probably won't give this another try although it is within walking distance of my house. Had pasta both times and both times was really not that great. It is a bummer that this place can't have fantastic service and great food.

The copper kitchen is one of my absolute favorite restaurants in SLC, maybe farther. My friends literally had to stop me from licking my plate clean. I've never had an empty water glass. The level of detail and care they have taken every time I have dined there surpasses expectations. They are more than accommodating to those with dietary restrictions. Get the meat platter, cheese platter, pear salad, and lamb shank and top it off with one of their house ice creams.

We love Copper Onion downtown. Copper Kitchen is part of their family and much closer to us. Everything we had was delicious. We had drinks, Copper Cup is the perfect drink. We had 3 appetizers, including the Octopus, and they were all delightful. I had the Beef Bourguignon. It was tender and the perfect flavoring. I finished every bite. On to dessert which was perfection. We will definitely be regulars at Copper Kitchen.

First time eating at the Copper Kitchen. Love the Copper Onion so assumed it was going to be good but you never know. I was equally as impressed. My dad and I are here for lunch. I had the philly cheese steak which was delicious with a twist and my dad had the fried egg sandwich which was also amazing. Service was a little slow to start but once the waiter got to us he was great to keep checking in. I am thrilled to have this place in Holladay and look forward to going back again.

I really wanted to like it. Tonight dined with a group of women and unfortunately was left feeling less than fully satisfied. (And not physically but my pallet) The Brussels sprouts were soaked in balsamic to the point the last few bites I literally had to remove from the vinegar as if was too strong. The apples and walnuts offered a really great contrasting crunch to the dish. The chicken soup was filling but the floating piece on chicken skin on top just didn't hit the spot. The chicken was great both light and dark meat with a nice mirepoix in a deep broth. Panna cotta for dessert was fresh and light. Our server was cold and honesty not that smart. When asked for what he recommended as far as the daily ice cream he simply stated "what he was in the mood for. " When we asked him at the beginning of the night how his night was going he was cold and not personable. He seemed more in tune with his hair and it's flip than our table. Won't go back unfortunately. Location was great. So close to my home!

Reservations and service were seamless. Server was attentive, helpful, and knowledgable. Quite noisy on a Friday evening, and the space isn't configured to dampen noise at all. Pub Steak was tasty, but tough. Delicious fries. Portions not generous, not stingy.

I've eaten here twice. The pub steaks were incredible, beautiful cut of marbled steak, sliced diagonal and cooked to perfection. Amazing peppercorn sauce. 5-star steak. I had the burger the second go round. I would pass on it next time. It was okay, don't get me wrong, cooked to perfection, excellent ingredients, just nothing special at $13. Only 3-stars there. The brownie sundae was a 4-star affair. Very rich, almost over-the-top. My friends all raved about their meals. The service is beyond impeccable. The wait staff and management were right there, seeing to my every need without being overbearing. The manager was willing to comp my burger. I almost felt guilty for not liking it, haha. It's a beautiful building. The atmosphere is great. The menu is minimal, really only a one-pager, but other than the burger, everything else was great. I like a place that does everything well, even if everything is only a few items. Utah needs a few more upscale experiences like this.

We really really like this place! For those of you familiar with the Copper Onion, you already know how deliciously yummy the food is. The decor, service and of course the food, you will not be disappointed

Don't do it! Truly the worst service ever. Food is marginal and over priced. I expect this establishment to be gone soon. Deservedly so.

At only 7 weeks old Copper Kitchen is already too popular for their own good. I wanted to love this place. I loved Copper Onion when they first opened, before they were very well know, back when they still had to try. Unfortunately just like its sister the place was packed with customers more concerned with how popular it was rather than, how good. I should have seen it coming when it took several calls to a less than friendly hostess to book a reservation. When we arrived on time for our reservation we were informed that the guests who were at our table for the previous reservation had not left yet so our table was not available. While I get that this is a crappy situation for the establishment to be caught in, it is their responsibility to book in some padding to the reservation times to prevent this. We decided to sit in the bar area rather than wait, for God only knows how long, for those guests to decide to leave. Honestly the table in the bar was not a bad option for our group, it was a bit more quiet and we could actually hear each other. The one GREAT thing about our experience was our server, he was friendly, knowledgeable, and spent lots of time with us. The food unfortunately was a major DISAPPOINTMENT! I started out with the beet salad that was a tiny smear of goat cheese that seemed more like something that accidentally fell on the plate than an key component of the dish, 3 slivers of avocado, and what had to of been at least 6 large beets. The lemon dressing was either so bland I could not taste it or just too sparingly used I could not tell. I also ordered the market fish for the evening, a black cod. The fish itself was cooked perfectly, but again BLAND tasting like not much of anything, the white beans and vegetables it was served with were unintentionally cold and the mustard sauce (the tipping factor in my decision to order this dish) was completely forgotten. Dessert however was quite amazing, I ordered a chocolate peppermint torte that tasted as if they somehow magically poured a deliciously rich hot cocoa, stirred with a candy cane, onto the plate and it transformed into a rich warm cake. Go for just that, it needs to be experienced! While not a terrible experience it certainly was not what I was looking for.

Well I'm hooked on Copper Kitchen. I love the look of this simple and clean restaurant. The two times I've been here(within a week) were both consistent. Beet Salad and CK burger were fantastic. Lamb shank was heaven and the brown sugar cake was awesome. I highly suggest a reservation if you are going at night as I have been turned away saying they were booked for the night at 7:30 on Thursday.

Just had brunch here for the first time and we were so happy. Ends Benedict abs French Toast were wonderful. The quality of the food, the choices made to enhance flavors (ie rosemary on home fries) and our service made this our new brunch spot. Highly recommend. Excited to come back for dinner. Not cheap and wait for food is a tad long, but those are minor deterrents from a marvelous culinary experience.

I definitely prefer the good old Copper Onion to Copper Kitchen. It's good and fun to have in Holladay but, I didn't feel the service was very knowledgeable or helpful. I also didn't think it was as good as the price made it sound. Really good, but not like crave it amazingness I was hoping for.
