What happened to Ruby River?! It used to be a "premier" restaurant. These days it's a shell of what it once was, and totally inferior to Texas Roadhouse. However, it is open for lunch... Something that you won't find at Texas Roadhouse. And that is the only reason I found myself there, on a weekday. This location is in such a dead area. So, it wasn't surprising to find that there were only two other parties in the restaurant, aside from mine. The things that was surprising, though, was the lack of speed, with which our food was turned out from the kitchen! Oh my! It was slow! And at lunch they don't serve complimentary bread. Also, the menu said that two sides came with my order; but the server said the menu was wrong???? And that my order only came with one side, despite what I saw in print. My four-year-old ordered the noddles with Alfredo sauce. She said they tasted like nothing. And she was right. They had no flavor! If a four-year-old can pick up on that... Yikes! I had the Caesar salad, & the Garlic Sirloin. The Caesar salad had wilt-y pieces of lettuce, & the dressing wasn't good. My steak was surprisingly delicious! Cooked to perfection, & tender. But not good enough to entice me back. The quality of food just doesn't warrant the prices! Even with their assortment of in-house-brewed drinks!

Great tasting steaks. Sides are okay but nothing to brag about. Price is a little high. Good place for when Texas Roadhouse is packed.

I rarely give bad reviews but this was horrible! I got the prime rib sandwich, which was an open face sandwich, so I had to cut it to eat it. I had to sit and saw over and over with my knife to cut through the bread and it took me hitting my fork with my other hand into the bread, through the steak, to even pick it up, that's how hard the bread was. You get only one side and so if you get a salad, your entrée comes all alone looking tiny on a large plate. My friend ordered salmon and when it came to the table, it was a piece of salmon that was made to look a lot smaller than it was due to the plate it came on. For the price you pay, you should be able to get at least two sides. This is the third time I've been to Ruby River in the last 15 years and I've never, ever come away even remotely impressed. The only reason I went was because my friend chose it. I will never go back again.

It was ok, but not nearly as good as I remember Ruby River being back in the day. I'll be honest, we came here because there was a long wait at Texas Roadhouse. And that kind of set the bar for comparison, because they're a lot alike on the surface - peanut pails and all. The similarities don't go much deeper than that though. Our service was pretty friendly but slow (and the restaurant wasn't even very crowded). The free bread was great. We eat family style so I tried a few things: Top sirloin steak and fries were very good, about the same as you get in most restaurants. The ribs ... Don't get them, especially if you think they'll be anywhere as good as Roadhouse. They tasted like they were just boiled then pasted with bbq sauce. Not good. The chicken (that came with the ribs-chicken combo) was ok as far as flavor, but so dry it was difficult to eat. I had to mix it up with my sweet potato to make it go down. The sides were all just sides, middle-of-the-road but nothing to write home about. I'm not trying to be super negative, but we were thirsty long before the drinks finally came out, and hungry when we left after our mediocre meals. As impatient as I am, I'll stand in line at the other place next time.

I have been to this location twice now and it is never crowded. I am not sure if it is the location or that Ruby River charges more than other steakhouses of equal quality. I used to consider them better than most, but now think they are on par with Texas Roadhouse (and other similar) in flavor and quality. The food is good, but more expensive than others and in some cases not as flavorful. The one thing I will commend is that the service here is consistently good.

Not a great experience dining here. First, we made a reservation online knowing we had a tight time line for dinner that night. We were told once we had waited 20 min for our "reserved" table that their online reservations are really not reservations but more of a "call ahead" feature. This is weird because on their website it has a Reserve a Table Now feature. We had dined at other RR locations and the food was great but this time it was just average. The service was also aaverage. I don't think we will be headed back any time soon.

Been here 4 times, so plenty of times to give a valid review. This place is close to our house so we so wanted it to be our "go to" spot. There's no way around it....it's just terrible. Chicken on the salad I ordered on two occasions was dry as shoe leather. Horrible. The steak has a terrible, mealy texture. This was verified when we took my parents with us and my mom said the same thing. (Warning....gross comment ahead). It literally had the texture of steak that had already been chewed up. It really was beyond disgusting...... Just overall lack of quality in their food. I love the fact that there is rarely a wait, but that's evidently not a good thing..... The wait at Texas Roadhouse at least somewhat guarantees a decent meal at the end. Save your money and go elsewhere.....

Follow up. They said they would send me some comp coupons. Never got them. But they must have fixed things really well because a whole lot of Glowing 5 Star reviews followed my 1 Star. Hmmm? Very interesting! They said they'd send some more comp coupons. You guessed it! Never got those either and I was so excited about giving them another try.

The location used to another steak house and did not make it. Not sure what they were thinking when they took the location over. Food is OK but it is pricey there better choices that are better and not off the beaten tracj
