Dairy Queen

400 E Emory Rd
Powell, 37849
Reviews:
Dairy Queen in Knoxville is an endangered species! This one is coupled with a Pilot Gas and a Taco Bell, it's not really a restaurant. It's a counter with to-go items. They don't have a freezer full of Dilly Bars or ice cream cakes. What they DO have...OH MY WORD....is chocolate soft serve! Shut the front door! And as if they wasn't enough awesomeness...they have butterscotch DIP for the cones! What! What! This place was hoppin! It was clean. They had two gals working and a line of 6 people, constantly. There is a new Blizzard that is some salted Carmel chocolate chip craziness! Just started today. I'm not a Blizzard lover but it sure did look delish!

Can't go wrong with anything here. Great family owned sandwich shop. I love the Steamboat sandwich on the home made, fluffy as a cloud white bread, with the hand made, fresh squeezed lemonade. The ladies who work here are the nicest people and take great pride in 'crafting' each meal.

Awesome burgers & fries!! Been to Five Guys in different cities & states & they're always delicious!!
Took me a few tries to get my burger just right but now one of my favorite lunch spots. The portions are quite large. I usually get the junior burger (the regular with two patties is just too much) and share fries with Christopher D. If you don't like Five Guys it's because you don't just don't like burgers- and that's un-American.
Five Guys is always good. Fast service. A little salty fries. A good place to hangout. Clean well kept. Staff very friendly.

Good food and a great beer selection. Great salads, and good apps. Ill visit again.
The Thunder Road burger was awesome! They have a lot of good beers on tap.
Dined there New Years Eve. They were packed and service was still prompt & courteous and the food was absolutely delicious. Hubby ordered end cut of Prime Rib. I started with Shrimp Bisque. Entree was pan seared Sea Scallops over Creamed Corn. Sides of Sautéed Mushrooms, Parmesan Spinach and Mashed Potatoes. Everything was absolutely perfect. Will definitely dine there again and again.

Reviews:
Burgers are always fresh and steamy. If you get the fries fresh from the frier, they are some of the best in the area. The chocolate shakes are very good and can be eaten with a spoon. Like every other Krystal's, the tiny burgers are a little overpriced. The staff is always friendly and patient.

Sushi-Spot

Great sushi! I love sushi and try new places everywhere I travel. This local spot is one of the best and definitely the best here in Knoxville. The entire menu is delicious. If you are a sushi lover then you will not be disappointed. Jake the sushi chef is the best and very creative. Service is always quick and friendly even if they are crowded. They serve beer but no liquor or wine. However, they do have a cork charge that is very reasonable so take your own bottle. The decor is very classy and comfortable.
I really liked the sushi here. I went on a Saturday night, and it was crowded by Powell standards but definitely not as impossible to deal with as any of the West Knoxville sushi restaurants would've been at that busy time (which is why we chose it, actually). The atmosphere is nice, it's dim and the booths are high. There's a long bar as well which joins the area where the sushi chefs are working. We had Gyoza which was good. I mean, it was typical gyoza but it was fried just right and there was noticeably more chili oil in the sauce than most local places, which I liked. The sushi: I had a Hero roll which was very flavorful. It had crab, tuna, avocado, and calamari (the calamari was perfectly cooked). We also had a Dragon which was tempura shrimp with baked eel, avocado, and cream cheese. This was super yummy too. We had both raw & cooked fish in our rolls, and everything seemed fresh. The service was really good as well. I will definitely go back.
Coworker recommended Sushi Spot over Nama. I like them both equally. Price is about the same at Sushi Spot as Nama on the specialty rolls. Basic rolls were a dollar or two less at SS. Atmosphere at Sushi Spot is much more casual and relaxed than Nama. After a long day or week of work I'd prefer a meal in comfort. Sushi Spot wins here. Nama has great selection of unique and artistic rolls. Selection at Sushi Spot is much simpler, but still a nice variety. Most rolls at SS had cream cheese in them- not my favorite sushi ingredient, however, the Dooley roll even with the cream cheese was delicious. Service- I'm glad to report we were over-served on a busy Friday night. May have been confusion with the servers due to a sudden rush of people through the door but much better than no service. Our rolls arrived to our table very quickly even with the crowd. We would have waited two or three times as long at that other place. The simplicity of the rolls at SS pays off in a quicker turn out.

Grujos German Fast Food

Reviews:
So far I'm not impressed. The first time had to wait over 90 minutes. Last night three couples ahead of us and it still took 20 minutes to place our order. Just like the first time they were out of Shnitzel, which set the mood for the night. Then it took another 15 minutes to get the coke machine refilled. All the mustard sauces were empty. The food was ok. Not something I was impressed with. My wife did enjoy hers which was a vegetable wrap. So for the time being I can't rate any higher than a two star. It just seemed like there still need to be a lot of work done before being prepared for a public opening.
I come every Wednesday for happy hour and I have to say I love this place. The staff is friendly and I love how informative they are on all the food and beer they have. I love the bratwurst and the warsteiner beer is awesome. Please come check them out and I know you will enjoy it as much as I do.
Went there last weekend for the first time and tried the currywurst which came with a nice and crusty roll. It was spicy hot (which i like) but you can get it mild as well. I throughoully enjoyed every bite of my meal and will be going again soon!

Found this place via Google....wasn't too sure if I wanted to try a 'fast food' place...but traffic was horrible and we had just spent 90 minutes in a detour and we were hungry! The menu wasn't huge but they had a special on Zenation Zalads. Great choice! It was fresh, not premade. Large portions....very filling. Not bad for under $9 (including drink). Restroom was clean and the MGR came to our table after to check on things.
Great place to enjoy chicken strips, they have a great sweet & spicy sauce. Good customer service and the place is always clean.
Customer service very good. Very clean. Food very good. Family atmosphere.
