I was greeted immediately upon walking in the door. The cashier was friendly & patient despite my indecisiveness. My food was ready quickly, but I don't know what I ordered had cheese on it, but the guy was happy o fix it. My food came out hot & delicious. I don't know if the other reviewers went during busier times or something, but all their concerns didn't effect me! I almost didn't go to this one but decided to give it a try because it was most convenient. Glad I didn't let the nay sayers affect me!

I was so happy when this place opened up on union. Not only is it quick and accessible for us that live in western memphis/downtown/midtown, but their service is quick too! this is your standard panera. it has awesome food, amazing bakery items (their bread loaves are SO GOOD), and great service. Its clean, and new still, and has plenty of booth and table space for people who need to study. Things I like to order (this will be the same as every single panera in the country): -Fuji apple chicken salad -sierra turkey sandwich on a crossaint (yes u can ask them to sub a crossaint) -bread loaves -cinnamon raison bagel with hazelnut spread -baked potato soup Parking-sucks during rush hours. just be aware. Besides that, come visit! Panera is awesome and delicious and healthy.

1st time here for breakfast. Spinach and bacon soufflé not great. Iced coffee was horrible. I have been here for lunch before and the salads and panino are great.

I love Panera and strongly recommend the Panera on Germantown Pkwy! I've got to say, though, I've given this location a shot several times since moving to Midtown and have never had good service! I'm always rushed, cashiers usually forget to ask for my Panera # and ask if I want a baguette or chips or here or To-go; and most of the time my food is served either room temperature or cold and not cooked all the way through. If you're wanting Panera, I say make the drive all the way out to Germantown Pkwy! My food is always delicious and the service is always amazing! Super sweet, friendly people, great management (never asked for them but have been greeted and spoiled by them just because they were a little busy before!), and consistent service :)

As much as I love Panera, and as much as I wish I could like this location, I can't. The setup is perfect, as there's not really another quick-but-decent breakfast place that offers light food off Union Ave. Bagels are "toasted," and by toasted, I mean they're still cold to the touch. Asking the employees to at least heat up the bagel will only draw irritated eye-rolls. But the worst part? For some unknown reason, this Panera location doesn't sell coffee in small. You have to pay for a medium. Panera usually does a good job with maintaining consistency, but this location has continued to disappoint me time and time again. TL;DR: drive down the street to Chik-Fil-A, or go further to Cooper Young to get real breakfast with character minus the attitude.

Get a second job to pay for your meal. This place is expensive for "fast food." I know that Panera isn't your typical fast food, I have no complaints on service or food taste. But seriously, a half sandwich, half salad and drink should not cost $13.

the drive-thru is a nice option. too bad it is ridiculously slow. i enjoy the variety of food, but often disappointed when the restaurant runs out of spinach and artichoke souflees.

Went to Panera last night to grab a quick bite and ordered the chicken salad in the drive through. After a several minute wait, they told me they were out and asked me to order something else. They offered a free drink and I declined because places run out of food. It isn't the employee at the drive thru fault. It took quite a while to get the food. The manager came out with a refund, a cookie, and a cinnamon roll. They went beyond on their customer service that night and considering the day I was having a nice touch. I like the midtown location. It is a nice spot to get some lighter fare in the midtown area. After last night I am a regular customer for sure. Just wanted to give a shout out before I forgot about it.

The food was good. I had a half Fuji Apple Chicken Salad, half Sierra Turkey sandwich and a Lemonade. The size of the sandwich was ridiculous. I could have made a bigger sandwich at home with regular bread. The total amount paid for a sprinkle of salad and piece of a sandwich with a drink was a little over $13.00. No. Never again.

Excellent meal with fast service. The lady who took our order was very accommodating to order changes. It was a quiet, relaxing comfortable place to dine. We will most likely return for another meal before we leave Memphis.

The worst service and food I have had in a long time. Ordered the Greek salad with shrimp they forgot the shrimp. My wife ordered the spinach power and the vegetable bag was in the order. I will not go back to this store. This was awful.

We have been going to Panera for several years now. It's a great place for a chain. The food is always very fresh. However, we always wanted the option of a drive-thru, or at least a Panera close to our home in Midtown. Lo and behold, both wishes were granted and I am not disappointed. The drive-thru is quick; the employees are friendly! No more excuses for greasy fast food... unless of course it's to visit the NEW FIVE GUYS right down the street, can I get an amen?!

The menu is same as other Panera outlets BUT it also have a drive thru. That's a huge +++ The seating area is large in area but little compact as compared to other outlets where seating area is spread out. One might argue that it is not congested, but its cozy. They also have a free wifi and decent size parking area. They do have a very big staff at work, which makes the service so fast and efficient. The manager was so friendly, that in 45 mins, he made 2 rounds to ask almost everyone whether they are doing fine. That was impressive for a branched chain like Panera. In summary, a good place and a new spot for hang outs for people staying in downtown/midtown. We definitely needed such healthy and quality place in this area. Overall, my first experience here was impressive.

Didn't really enjoy this location. Items were wrong, food was like warm, staff wasn't too friendly. I still like Panera Bread just not this location.

I went here today for a bagel pack, coffee, and orange juice. I was told that the coffee was a catering menu item but they would be happy to accommodate me. This was not true. It took them 40 minutes for my order and when i finally asked about it 35 minutes after I had ordered, they hadn't even filled my coffee carton or sliced by bagels. I asked for a manager who was unapologetic and tried to tell me they hadn't charged me for an item (that they had) as compensation for my horrible service. Won't be going back.

This must be some sort of cosmic punishment for getting drive-thru fast food -- I'm usually not the fast food type. But I was too tired to cook today and on a time crunch with work. I ordered a Steak & Blue Cheese Salad. I asked for gluten-free. They said no problem. I asked which soups don't have wheat -- they said the Broccoli-Cheddar was a good bet. Instead of the normal side of bread, I chose apples instead. Drove around, and the cashier notices they gave me bread instead of apples. She switches the sides for me. She also re-reads the nutrition info for Broccoli-Cheddar soup and it does indeed have wheat ingredients -- so I choose the gluten-free Autumn Squash soup instead. Once I'm home & famished & breaking into the box, I notice the 'steak' in my Steak Salad is a raw, red, bloody mess -- not the cooked beef strips you see in the menu. They also were nice enough to put breaded onion ring crispies all over the 'gluten-free' salad.. Anyway, I know I can't depend on this restaurant to get my order correct so I'm not sure if I'll be returning to this location. The Poplar/240 location is much, much better.

Picked up 12 bagels and 2 TUBS of cream cheese. Got to work and the two "tubs" were single serving cream cheese! Also, the bagels were barely sliced. The slicer only cut a sliver off the bottom. Totally not cut in half! Very disappointed :-/

The midtown Panera gives you the same standard as other Panera eateries, but with the added bonus of a drive thru. A bit pricey for what you get, but the place is always very clean, with efficient service. If you get a soup, I'd recommend asking for a breadbowl (they're pretty nifty). Also, maybe asking for chips or some other substitution instead of the baguette ? How much bread can one person eat?

I have never had a problem with service at any Panera around the country but the past few times I've been to this Panera they have substituted the bread you get with soup and on your sandwich without asking. They forgot to make a drink even though I asked a few times and then when they did make t they put it in the drive thru window when I ordered inside and gave me a bagel that had a while so big in the middle it was about 1/3 the side of a normal bagel. Half the time the cashier girls stand around ignoring customers or acting annoyed that you asked for something.

great addition to the midtown spread of meals. not too different than all the other paneras. they did add a turkey bacon avacado that was really delicious - very well seasoned, moist turkey, very solid sandwich! drive through is nice as well!

Love the drive-thru! I went through it just a couple of days after they opened. The parking lot was completely full - not a single spot available - when I pulled in. There were only two cars ahead of me in the drive-thru line. I ordered a sandwhich and a salad. The salad was definitely pre-made and I'm pretty sure the sandwhich was too. But they were both very good - especially the salad. The drive-thru line moved very quickly and the girl working the window was sweet and helpful.

Didn't go in, but the drive-thru was super speedy! Got a half panini, soup and caramel freeze and everything tasted like, well, Panera food. The employee who took care of me was very friendly as well.
