Some of the best pizza I've had from a theme restaurant. Usually you sacrifice quality for the lowest common denominator but not in this case. They use wheat flour in their dough, giving it a chew and flavor that is excellent. This is also a great family restaurant, kids will love this place. The interior is done up in a sci-fi style, mostly mushroom-themed.

So why do people rave about this place? I've had pizza and a sandwich, and neither are so good that I'd want to go back there again. They were good, but nothing great. The atmosphere is cool, but when I eat out, I go for the food, not the ambiance. At least the servers are friendly, and the menu has a lot of options.

I love this place. We get pizza almost every Friday. We sit at the bar and grab a drink while we wait for our pizza to go. The staff is always very nice and they have a fantastic variety of beer selections. The pizza is always delicious and I love that they show you the pizza to make sure it's made the way you like.

Ordered 1/2 Funky Q Chicken and 1/2 Pepperoni and Jalapeños. I got to admit, I've tasted a lot of pizza. My favorite is definitely right from Mellow Mushroom! Will defiantly return!

My boyfriend and I went here on a Thursday night and I wasn't in the mood to have a good time at all, but the staff and the atmosphere was amazing. The food was fast and so good and there was more than enough to take home for lunch the next day. Our waiter even helped us find new beers that we would like and gave us free samples so we wouldn't be buying something we hated. Overall, the experience was amazing and I cannot wait to go back.

I came here for the first time a few weeks ago and the food is really good but the staff is a bit slow even though they have tons of people working. Not sure what the whole deal was but other than that it was decent

First off, let me thank the chef for taking the time to prepare our vegan pizza (to order) as it was definitely not a menu item after all our special requests. Thank you!! Second, thanks to our waitress also for dealing with all our vegan requests. It's hard to eat out at restaurants when you're on a plant-based-diet, but you all made it work and we were impressed with the staff and the pizza was delicious!! The only problem I had was all the craziness of people screaming at the ball game on the screen! I'm not a sports fan so I had no idea what was going on, but since there is a bar in there, and big screened televisions, there's a certain amount of crazy that comes with those elements. Just a note to parents, if you have little ones, please bring them during daylight hours and not when the bar is packed. It gets a little crazy at night.

Love this restaurant! I've only been once, but the atmosphere was fun, the drinks were good, and the pizza was delicious. It was a little expensive (especially for the specialty pizzas) - but probably worth it in the end. They let us do a half and half pizza which was perfect!

This place was just bad. The pizza was way over priced and barely edible. The beer selection was good as well as our server. Neither was good enough for me to make a second visit. I do not recommend the food. Just go for the beer if you must go.

Good food, high prices. We ordered one medium pizza and one pitcher of beer. It was 40 dollars. Not to mention our waitress was pushy when we were choosing beers. She came back 3 times in about 30 seconds. The restuarants it self it's pretty well out together. Honesty, I wouldn't go back. Memphis pizza cafe is around the corner and is better for the price.

I went to Mellow Mushroom for dinner with a group of friends on a Saturday night. We went early-ish (around 5:30) and it was quite busy, but the wait list wasn't too long for a group of 5 (about 30 minutes). The atmosphere inside (in terms of decor) reminded me a lot of Space Mountain at Disneyland. A little more kid-friendly than anything else. It was a bit loud in there, since the whole place is quite open in the middle, but we could still hear each other talk. I will say that the very long booths are just an awkward design. If you sit on the inside of one of the long booths, it is difficult to get in or out of the thing. As for the food, we all found the pizza delicious. We had the Philosopher's Pie and the Kosmic Karma. Both excellent (the Kosmic Karma was my favorite). The crust was quite good - a little bit sweet and chewy, which I find a plus. It was easier to eat the pizza with a knife and fork than pick it up and eat it by hand, though. And the spicy margarita was good as well. Definitely had a jalapeno heat to it going down. I also tried a slice of my friend's gluten free pizza. While I can eat gluten and love the regular crust, the gluten free crust seemed OK to me. It had some structure and taste to it (I've had gluten free crusts that taste like cardboard before). Overall, the pizza is great, the atmosphere is OK. I'd probably do take out next time, but I'd definitely eat the pizza again!

I was impressed with the fun, lively atmosphere, with sci-fi/60's themed decor. It looked like a restaurant on "The Jetsons". Seating was prompt and welcoming. There was no ghetto attitude (the kind of bad attitude which one pretty much comes to expect when one lives in Memphis). Our server was friendly, knowledgable, and efficient. The pizza itself was probably the best I had had in Memphis. There was a lot of flexibility and choices in the ordering. For example there are many different "specialty" pizzas Or you can build your own. You can also get half of one kind and half of another. It was an enjoyable experience, but I would avoid this area of town during rush hour. The traffic is horrendous.

Good news and bad news here, Memphians. The good news is that this is some really good pizza. It is really good. The bad news is that I think this is the best pizza in Memphis! Strange? I think so too, but I stand by this decision. I've never had pizza this good in Memphis, and I've tried LOTS of pizza all around this city. What makes this pizza the best in town? The crust. Finally a great crust. It's buttery, and crispy, while staying flaky. The accurate word is crusty but I learned you can't use a word to describe itself. It is also flavorful and topped with delicious, high quality ingredients. I tried several pizzas to make an informed decision and they were all fantastic. First, a standard pep/mushroom pizza. Perfect amount of cheese, great toppings, not too much topping but not too little, crust was just right. I'd give it an enthusiastic 10 while eating it, then quickly think about previous tens I've had and give it a 9 and agree to never lower it. BBQ chicken pizza? I'll give it a 7 because why would you want a bbq chicken pizza in Memphis when you could just go out and eat the best bbq anything in the world? But here is a treat, the white pizza. Sundried tomatoes, provolone, feta, mozzarella, more tomatoes. This was the pizza that settled it for me. Best pizza place in Memphis. Mellow Mushroom. Not much for atmosphere, I mean it has a bar and TVs and is clean... but I'm only worried about the pizza, and this place delivered!

Go on trivia night - lots of fun! I like MM because it has great vegetarian selections and interesting choices of toppings. The sci-fi theme of the decor is really fun and clever, with posters of famous sci-fi classic movies transformed into a mushroom-related theme. Don't miss the mushroom Han Solo in carbonite at the entrance. Nice service, friendly staff. Enjoy.

Awesome atmosphere, good service, but 60 minutes for a pizza? And our poor waiter had no idea what was happening with the kitchen. Hopefully they will get their act together. We don't plan on going back.

Yikes! At this location, the decor is truly gaudy. WAY too much space theme and the ambience might induce a seizure. I had one pint and left. I could bear it no longer.

  • Eliana M.

The food is almost always good. I used to go here about once a week but have stopped because we ALWAYS get the same server and he is absolutely terrible. Always slow, never brings a refill, burned the cheese off of my spinach dip and didn't bother remaking it. Ordered a dessert once and it took about 25 minutes for him to bring that. Don't bother asking for a Togo box because that'll take even longer. It's a shame because it's so close to my work.

  • Amber C.

This location is great, with very friendly service and a cool decorating scheme (love the spaceships!) but, meh, I think their food is just okay. A lot of times my pizza is way overcooked, and all the fancy toppings are great, but make the pizza too pricey for the quality. Good beer selection, but I would rather eat pizza at Memphis Pizza Cafe across the street. Probably really good for kids, and the appetizers are good, but don't count on the best pizza you've ever had.

Second time this summer been seated at this restaurant and then no one waits on us. We have our seats our menus and our appetites but for some as of yet inexplicable reason none of the cohort of wait staff deign to visit our table. We walked this time. Love the pizza, but not enough to be ignored. Maybe Broadway Pizza wants our money. Just sayin.

This is the absolute worst service I have ever gotten at a restaurant. I have tried this establishment twice and both times we practically have to beg for food and drink. I'm not coming back for strike three with this pathetic restaurant. I hope you shut down

The bar is great (which is evident when you first see it!) and bar service seemed to be acceptable....but the table service here is definitely taking a dive. I don't like to downgrade a review without good cause, but in this case let those without ample time and patience be warned about the slow service here. A few days ago, I stopped in for lunch. The restaurant was about 15% full, so a slow day for them. I eventually had to leave after not getting service of any type. Upon walking thru the door we were just pointed to a table and then consistently overlooked. Several minutes went by with us sheepishly waving to the occasional employee (more than once) in an effort to make sure we were seen. Eventfully after 15 minutes without even getting so much as a drink order taken, we headed to the door. The place appeared to be short staffed and the bar tender (who apparently was attempting to run the whole restaurant) cheerfully said as I left, "thanks for coming in. Come back to see us!", apparently oblivious to reality. I mumbled something like "yep. maybe we will even get waited on next time" which merely produced a dumbfounded look. What can I say? They are in business to make a profit. I went there to eat and drink. The proposition just didn't work out this time. I will try them again thanks to their awesome bar with over 50 taps, but they seriously need to regroup on their process for tending to the tables. I sure hope my next visit is not my last...

It's a basic pizza place with a good bar. The bar is surprisingly good with a good selection of drafts and the beermeister really cares about getting good beers out there, but there isn't much turnover with some of the beers so be careful that you don't get an unusual option that hasn't been changed in awhile. They do occasionally get some really rare stuff for around Memphis, so always ask what's new on tap. The bottle selection is pretty good for the area too. Service is always friendly, if a little slow, but the pizza is always a little weird. It's greasy and buttery a bit too much while there don't seem to be enough of the fresh ingredients on it. It's a little pricey and everything seems a little...bready?, but it's good for a large meal. I actually enjoy the Mushroom Soup a good bit as a starter and some of the appetizers can be eaten as a full meal.

The best spinach artichoke dip I have had in Memphis!! I could not believe how good it was. I had never eaten at Mellow Mushroom but decided to try it on a Sunday afternoon. The service was excellent; the waiter checked in with us regularly but was not bothersome. Our pizza was good, but I would go to Mellow mushroom for that dip alone.

First off, Mellow Mushroom, I need to say your beer selection is awesome. While not the largest I've ever seen, it is very big for a "non-bar" dine in restaurant. But more on that later... We love this place. Our go-to appetizer are the pretzels which are made from the same dough that they make their pizzas with. My favorite are the salted pretzels and YOU MUST get the beer cheese to dip them in. EHRMAHGERD. I had two beers and my favorite was their Stone Russian Imperial Stout. I won't make this a beer review (although I could) but that beer was uh-MAZING. If you're a beer fan like me and don't drink beer with the objective to get drunk but to taste the beer, this is an AWESOME choice. I also had the Wiseacre Ananda IPA and that was good too. A little fruity for my taste but that's probably because I drank it AFTER the stout so that wasn't fair. But I preferred it to Ghost River. For my pizza, I went with the buffalo chicken pizza. I'm gonna let that sink in for a minute... Buffalo sauce as the base, sliced chicken breast, applewood smoked REAL bacon, caramelized onions and a drizzle of ranch (or blue cheese if you swing that way). That pizza was FIRE! Not spicy kind of fire but that good "OH MY LAWD I'M GONNA SMACK MY GRANDMA" fire. Sorry Meemaw. Bottom line: Go. Order a delicious beer, have an appetizer (pretzels) and grab a pizza. Go with friends like we did and sit for 3.5 hours and have a blast. I only rated it 4 stars because our waitress was kind of rude and tried to clean off our table while we were still sitting there. I guess she was trying to shoo us away but we refused to take the hint. We dropped over $120 before tip (collectively) on that table so we weren't rushing. And some bar maiden kept coming by to collect our beer glasses the moment we took the last sip. Maybe they need more? Lol BUT don't let that detract you! GOOOOO!!!

This pizza is a little pricey, but it's so worth it. It was absolutely delicious! The service, however was pretty awful. We called ahead an hour in advance for pick up. We arrived and it wasn't ready. We then had to another 20 minutes for our pizza. No one said anything or even apologized. Notice I'm still giving it 3 stars only because of how incredible the pizza was. They also have tons of outdoor seating which was nice. The atmosphere inside is fun and funky, just a neat pizza place.

I've been to a few MM before, and each individually owned franchise has it's own little quirks. The food menu is the same, so nothing out of the ordinary. What makes this place good is the huge patio with heaters if needed. The large bar with flat screen TVs perfect for watching the game. Great beer prices, and an awesome house cocktail menu selection! Great for large groups to kick back on the covered patio to enjoy the weather. Now if only there were some TVs outside!

I'm just a little confused by this place. I mean I have been to other MM in the country and get the playful vibe but this one is a bit too Chuck E Cheesey to me. However, the location is good and the parking is even better...plenty of it. The service was just okay. I had the Magical Mystery Tour pizza, which was good, with a Caesar side salad, which was meh. Note: I typically would request dressing on the side but this time I opted to have them toss it (I guess I needed the extra calories?). Well, I ended up needing more dressing! Typically, it is always drowning in dressing when they do it but not the case here. I will more than likely be back because the price, location and food were all good. I did notice they have a substantial sized patio which is a plus for drawing me back for another visit in the future.

Mellow mushroom, where to begin. This was my first visit. Walking in, I was very impressed. The decor is very retro. The staff were very friendly. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and had great suggestions. The only complaint I have about him was he brought the wrong beer to the table, but he fixed it and the food definitely made up for the mix-up. Their pizza is some of the best in memphis. The buffalo chicken, is my favorite and I definitely recommend it.

First time here - really good pizza!! Went with a group of family (there were a total of 9) at a perfectly sized round table. Great choices for the kids and lots of interesting options. I had a small greek salad that I just kept eating but couldn't seem to get to the bottom of. All fresh ingredients and the dressing (served on the side) was great. The pizzas: -Veggie (tons of fresh veggies) -Meat (didn't try it but got rave reviews...lots of meat on it...) -some kind of jerk chicken with pineapple, and a bunch of other yummy stuff. The crusts are garlic parmesan and not overly crunchy - really good texture and flavor. Iced tea was good, service was friendly. There's a lot of room in this place and several TV's. We were there at an odd time, so it wasn't crowded at all...but I imagine that it's lively and noisy during peak times. There's also a full bar. Prices are reasonable. I'd happily go back if the family plans another outing.

Mellow Mushroom is a chain pizza place, with a funky vibe. This is Memphis's second location. The other is in Germantown. I think this location used to be a bank. The colors are bright and psychedelic. They have a spaceship theme in addition to the mushroom theme. There is one mushroom man that looks like Han Solo. The restrooms were labeled flushrooms and the boys restroom was labeled mels. They have a full bar with plenty of draft beers. I had two dark beers, which were good. I just think beer pairs well with pizza. I sampled my friend's garlic cheese bread. It was good. G and I shared some pizza. I ordered the bayou blue pizza, which had blue cheese, andouille sausage, and shrimp. G had the thai dye pizza, which had curry chicken. Both pizzas were good. It has a nice crust on them. I love trying all the different flavors, especially the unique ones. The prices are pretty average for a good pizza joint. They also have calzones, salads, and hoagies. They can also make a vegan pizza. They also have create your own options. They have tons of toppings. If you don't like tomato sauce, they have a pesto sauce.

I can back on a Monday and ordered a flight at the bar before my food came to the table. The beer selection is amazing here! The bar staff was very knowledge about the different selections of beer they offer. The flights are reasonably priced, and I left feeling that I had a broader knowledge of beer. I now know, I can't come back without getting something from the bar.

I feel very "eh" about my experience here. The interior is a little too brightly lit and colored for my taste (a friend said he felt like he'd walked into Toy Story), and the round building is definitely...different. The staff were pretty friendly, but the kitchen needs to get their act together. Since the boyfriend and I were trying to keep to a low-carb diet, we ordered a selection of appetizers to share for dinner (since the rest of the menu consists of pizza, calzones, and sandwiches). However, the food all came out at different times, with no regard to the fact that perhaps the entire table would like to eat together. One person at the table even had to ask for her salad long after her pizza was delivered. Unacceptable, in my book. The food was a mixed bag. The baked wings were pretty good. The meatballs were ok, though not terribly warm, and it was a little weird how they consisted of two halves stuck together with cheese. The capri salad was nothing special (the only thing my taste buds registered was that it was very chilled), and the mushroom soup tasted overwhelmingly of cheese. Dinner came in under $30, however, which I can live with, and our waitress tried to hard to be friendly and helpful (not always succeeding, but hey, at least she tried!). That being said, I can't see us coming back here anytime soon.

As always, Mellow Mushroom has great food & a fun atmosphere. This location is very comfortable and has a fun upbeat vibe and decor. The Bar is spacious, modern and well stocked with a variety of beers and cocktail selections. Mitchell behind the bar is a rockstar. The menu has amazing salads, pizzas (with a plethora of toppings to choose from) and offer gluten free crusts and vegan cheeses. Great place !

I have been here about four times and each time had a different server; service is not good. I'm all about some good service and this place did not meet my expectations! The waiter or waitress either takes too long to greet, goes MIA, not social, etc. The food is ok and the atmosphere is cool retro looking. The atmosphere is about the best thing going.

  • Jenna B.

The food is good but a little pricey. This is the third time I have called in an order to go and the wait was 10-20 minutes longer than originally stated so again, I'm at the bar waiting for my calzone that won't be ready for another 15 minutes and it's been exactly one hour since I called. I won't be back to this location.

Mellow Mushroom opened in East Memphis a few days ago. They, of course, have plenty of kinks to iron out, but nothing that a seasoned eater wouldn't expect from a brand new restaurant. This location is in a wonderful place in the Eastgate Shopping Center with plenty of surrounding parking. The main entrance is technically the back of the building in relation to the street its address is on. Service was quick. My friend and I chose to eat out on the patio, which is extremely spacious and is covered in case of rain. The staff were friendly. Honestly, they seemed a bit overstaffed for the time we were there (between 4p-6p), but it made for a nice meal, since all of our needs were anticipated. Unfortunately, the wrong pizza was made for us, causing our wait time to be about 20 minutes longer than it would have been otherwise. But, props to the management staff, they not only didn't make the server break the news and told us themselves, but they gave us both pizzas AND comped half of our bill (which was for only one pizza to begin with). I was really impressed with their eagerness to solve the problem before it even came to the table. When the correct pizza came, it was wonderful. Perfectly cooked with just the right amount of toppings. For chain pizza, it was delicious, and just added to the many reasons that I will be coming back to this location. All in all, for it being within their first week, I was really impressed with the service, food, and management. It will be really awesome to see how they improve as time goes on. Doesn't matter though, I'll be coming back. So long as they don't get worse, they've got a regular customer in me!

Well we were there for day 1 and everything went surprisingly well. The beer list is as good or better than anything other than the Flying Saucer, the service was quite good (although it was not a full restaurant when we were there), and the thing that sets this place apart is the PHENOMENAL outdoor seating. Can't say enough how nice their outside area is...plenty of fans for the summer and heaters for the winter. Again it is only day 1 but at least day 1 went very well for us...kudos to the manager on the training. Only wierd thing is the obvious choice for the front door is not the front door...so when we walked in no one greeted us. They may need to put up a sign or something as we were lost when we walked in what it turns out to be the pickup door.

I tried mellow mushroom for the first time the other day and it was very tasty. I had the gluten-free vegan crust with daiya "cheese" and veggies. It looked kind of pathetic and flat and I thought I was going to be so disappointed, but it was the best vegan pizza I've ever had. The atmosphere is odd but fun. My only complaint is that it is a little too pricey for me.

lunch - fresh and delicious pizza - quick service did not try gluten free but will def try next time i had the veggie pizza at the bartender/server's recommendation - excellent not too busy and did not object to decor as one person did - i thought it was not too noisy and pleasant will try more items next time for sure!!

I have now been to this pizzeria four or five times, and I have always enjoyed it. The pizzas and calzones are very tasty. The most surprising feature of this restaurant is its beer selection. There is a massive selection of bottled beers, including La Fin du Monde. My only complaint is that I have yet to find an option that is both reasonably sized & priced. Nothing is overly expensive, but it is not a place you want to go for a quick bite.

  • Amanda G.

I know this is terrible to do, but I give it 2 stars. Yes, the crust is the best in pizza history, but other than that I am not impressed. Average service & outlandish wait times after you've ordered.

Great gluten free options for my Celiac-laden boyfriend and always pleased with my food. Can run a little pricey at times but ingredients are fresh and good. I would say it's worth it. I haven't had much at the bar yet but the selection is great for a little pizza joint. Atmosphere is great for kids and adults and fun to chill at. Pretty good staff too. Ask for Audrey or Fiona when you can.

I went to lunch here the other day with some coworkers. We only had an hour for lunch and it is literally right across the street from our work. We ordered as soon as we got there. Simple. Calzones. The place was not crowded. We waited for 45 minutes for our food. Finally I had to ask for all of it to go because we had to get back to work. Two of us had to leave to get back to work and two of us stayed and waited on the food to go. I am sorry but that is ridiculous that we could not eat our food there because they took forever. The food was very good but that wait for it was absurd. I will go back because I like the food but not during my lunch hour and when I know I have a lot of time.

I selected House Special, Greek and Garlic Bread for my first visit. I think it's so yummy and fresh, but pizza is the best. I'm not sure about this. So, I'll definitely be back to check it again :)

We were supremely disappointed in our first visit to this MM. We are big fans of the MM in Gtown, but this one is a lot closer to home. We had been waiting for it to open so we could save ourselves some time and driving. We went on a Saturday evening, a little after 9 PM. The greeting was a bit slow and and somewhat less than enthusiastic. We were shown to a table in a bit of a crappy area, and my wife, being a big fan of booths, asked if we could have a booth. There were plenty of empty booths. Apparently, no clean booths as they had to call in a special team to clean a booth for us. It became apparent that we had disturbed their "Clean-Up Time" and the weren't really expecting any customers, even though the official closing time was almost 2 hours away. It was as if we were in their way. We gave our orders, and then proceeded to wait. PD had ordered soup so that came out promptly. She had also ordered a pizza and I had ordered a Calzone. After about 45 minutes, we asked on the status of our orders. Apparently there was some sort of mix up in the kitchen and they hadn't got started. So I guess at that point they started them. The manager apologized for them taking so long when he brought them out. They were fine, of the quality we had learned to expect from the Gtown store. Good eating. The bill came. I am not usually one to request comps, but in this case, the screw-up was so blatant I would have thought the manager would do something. He didn't. So I complained. We got the pizza and calzone at half price. OK, I guess, but I'm still only giving them 2 stars. What about the beer you ask? Well, this store has an excellent sampling of beer, much better in fact than the Gtown store. However, they are not on the Corporate Beer program so the beers you drink there don't count against your beer quota for the beer club. Major problem. I'll be going back to the Gtown store before I come here again. I hope they get their s%&# fixed.

My favorite thing about this place is the location. I love the pizza, but I always hated driving out to Germantown. Now its right down the street with great pizza and a huge selection of beers on tap. They have great parking and there seems to hardly ever be a wait. Service has always been spot on and I can't wait for the patio this summer.

Yummy. Had the muffaletta cheese bread and the spinach and tomato calzone, both of which were super tasty. Our server was great and really tried to be attentive to the vegans in our group. Also, didn't realize they had trivia on Tuesday nights, but was delighted that they did (we won!). Will definitely be back, and not just because we won $30 worth of bar/food tab. Superb ambiance and a really cool vibe.

Just a note - I would like to point out that the previous one star and two star reviews are from people who have no Yelp history. This leads me to believe that they are quite possibly employees of a nearby local pizzaria. Mellow Mushroom is good. Yes, it's a chain - but it's a chain with local flavor. Local and regional beers on tap- that's how you represent the 901! Very family friendly with something for everyone - pizza for all, great drinks for the grown ups, and a sci-fi fun environment for the kiddos. The crust tastes like fresh baked bread and is not greasy at all. The service is super friendly and attentive. I'm happy to have Mellow Mushroom in the neighborhood.

The bartender/waitress was extremely dismissive while we were sitting at the bar and was actively seen texting on her phone. Have been waiting on food order for over 30 minutes and only let us know about how much time it would be on our calzones when we asked about them. At the 30 minute mark, she told us it would be another 10 minutes. So much for a quick, late lunch. The food is here 50 minutes after ordering and our bartender/waitress has not come back since asked asking her about the wait on the food. The ten minuted for the food actually took 25 minutes. The only reason this review has 2 stars is because the food was decent. The original waitress let her relief let us know that she would be taking over and was more attentive in the 15-20 minuted she was our server than the hour the first girl "helped" us. Whenever our wait time was mentioned, we were completely dismissed. It will be a very long time before I ever recommend this place. And for the price, I'll definitely go elsewhere.

I'm NEW to Mellow Mushroom altogether. Our family was excited about this new really close location. They really decorated the place with their unique branding. Doesn't matter what your preferences are- they branded it like they wanted it and it looks really well done. HUGE booth seating - we went on opening weekend on a Saturday night just past 7 and so the wait to sit was about 35 mins. They have one of the BEST uses of technology here as if the wait is a while you can give them your cell phone number and it will text message when your about ready to be seated! YES! We put our name in and walked around nearby shops & it asks for you to send back "1" when you're on your way from being notified. WELL DONE! Baking the pizza we ordered was another 30-40 mins. after ordering. On opening weekend- totally understandable! Great long list of beers- would love to see KC brewery Boulevard show up sometime. We ordered a salad & their Buffalo Chicken pizza. Salad came out quick & our server was super nice (Amanda)! Pizza was hot, tasted great and we really love the pizza crust. We did NOT use silverware to eat it. Overall it was close to $30 for two of us splitting salad, pizza and I had a Guinness. That is about what I expected to pay. We had leftover pizza because we ordered a medium sized one (definitely enough for 2 people). We will most definitely go back.

Pizza is overpriced and the crust was burned, the appetizer (pretzels) were good, but took a lot longer than an appetizer should take. The service was horrible. The manager came to our table to check on us and asked if we needed anything. We told him we needed a box and he said he'd get us one. He never showed his face again. We never said anything about the service or pizza. We even left a decent sized tip, but we will not go back there.

This was my first time in Memphis and I decided to stop in at Mellow for a quick drink and a bite to eat and I chose to sit at the bar. It was a Friday night and it was extremely busy and the girls at the bar, Amelia and Danielle, were super attentive and did Their best to take care of every customer. My drink was never empty and my food came out correctly and fresh! I will definitely be making more trips to this location while I'm in Memphis! Danielle and Amelia did a great job and the rest of the staff here!

Have to agree with Jason D's comments for the most part. It was OK. But, I prefer to pick up my pizza slice and eat it, not have to use a knife & fork. So when I saw the people next to me doing that, thought that's not the way to eat pizza. My bad, I had to when mine came. Nice size, but limp in the middle kind of falling apart, no choice, bring on the knife & fork. & MM, when you do 'finalize' your draft beer selection, can you perhaps include some from somewhere other than Europe? I will say, the side salad & blue cheese were great. But, our party of 6 for lunch had issues: Wings 1 person ordered came out much later than pizza (we had just about finished pizza slices by that time), 1 Greek salad had no feta, had to ask for it twice, our bill was wrong, atmosphere just kind of strange. Chucky Cheese serves beer in a BRITE indoor circular playground???

Stopped by last night and was very surprised to find Music on the patio. Excellent idea. Great patio, great food & service. Especially enjoyed the duo that played on the patio. This could turn into the "Place to be" this summer. I'll be back!

Well, at least the Pizza was excellent. I guess that's what it's about, right? That's about the ONLY thing that was excellent. I want to like this place, I really do... and I might give 'em another try... but I gotta admit, it was lacking. Maybe it's just that they hurried to get the place open, hurried to hire the staff, and hurried to decorate, but... all that hurrying makes me tense. Frankly, I think they need some good front-of-house management to get things under control. First, there was a wait, as expected. It was about a 35-45 minute wait for a party of 4. The don't take reservations (for whatever reason) and were apparently trying to clear a spot for 20. Fair enough. After we sat down, they were out of I think the first 3 beers my table tried to order. The 3 of us in my party each tried something different, and they were out of two of the three. But it took our server two trips back and forth to clarify all that. I want to blame just him but I don't think it was entirely his fault. Someone should be communicating that - what they're out of - clearly, and to the WHOLE staff. And perhaps, on the menus as well. It soon became evident that it wasn't just our server who was undertrained when another server arrives with one beer - 'someone order a beer here?' Well, yes... but which one? The person didn't even know what he had in his hand, until who appeared to be the bartender (or other staff in the know) arrived with the OTHER beers. Now, we order our appetizer and 2 pizzas with a kids meal... and the appetizer arrives, then the pizzas.... then the kids meal. At least, after the random server who brings it stops next to our table, looks around, turns in place to survey the other tables... granted, there are kids at one of the others, but... I believe they already had their food. Random server #2 = not so perceptive. In any case, the rest of the meal went well. I will say, the pizza was quite good and my daughter enjoyed hers too. The decor certainly gave her a lot to look at. It's blazing neon colors and lights. It's OK, but... I don't know. It feel a little like Chuck E. Cheese without the animatronics. And I suppose that's not too far off. It's kitschy and whimsical, and... nearly retina-burning. That, plus the loud conversations at other tables plus many, many TVs with the football games on were quite a lot of sensory input that I wasn't really too thrilled with. Again, maybe for a kids party... where sportsdad can have something to do... Anyway, next time I want to watch the game and have a beer without driving down to Buffalo Wild Wings, I might just go here... but I'll have a backup plan or two for whatever beer I'm after. ;)

All I have to say about this place is that this was my second time dining at the new Mellow location. Their timing is terrible. I have been to both dinner and lunch and disappointed with both. The food is decent and I suppose the wait staff is friendly, but the kitchen is piss poor. Having been a server myself, restaurant 101 says everyone gets their food at the same time. Half of our party was done with the food before the other half was served. Both times I have dined here I have been there over an hour and a half. Once with 13 people once with 3. They seriously need to work on their timing and service. Do not eat here if you don't have at least an hour and a half of your life to spend.
