Very nice people working here and the subs are great! It's a small shop with friendly people. And they make it easy to order. I had a cruiser and it was great! The prices are low and will hit the spot after you eat.

A new manager took over the deli about a year ago. It's great for a quick lunch. They have numerous sandwich combinations and it's extremely reasonable. Ask for "House." He makes great sandwiches. #Yelp901

Location, atmosphere, food, service were all excellent. This place has a really cool feel to it, its like a legitimate small town deli. The service was amazing there was only one person working when we arrived but he was extremely nice and helpful. Portion sizes are maybe a little small but its worth it for the experience.

I don't know what I was expecting walking into this place. But the reality didn't match the expectations at all. There are no tables inside! Just chairs against a bar type slab looking out the window. This isn't a criticism by any means, I guess it is just more of a "to-go" type place and I was looking for a place to work on my laptop while I ate. As others have said, a New-York style deli. I chatted with the owner for a bit while I was waiting for my lunch (to-go) and he is pretty feakin' awesome. Super nice, and also told me about a food tour he does...will DEFINITELY be checking that out. The food is fresh and my sandwich hit the spot. The prices were reasonable and if I worked downtown I know I'd be coming here multiple times a week.

Great food. Great service. Great Experience. If you're in Memphis and looking for something to eat, look no further. This is the perfect spot if you're in need of something fresh, local, and affordable. Sometimes I'll eat here twice a day, not just because I love the food, but the hospitality provided by Miss Carol (the owner) is second to none. She has been labeled the "Memphis Mother" because she takes a personal interest in all of her customers, and for the regulars she knows your order, where you're from, and everything in-between. Whether you're new or old to the Memphis area, the experience you get when you eat here is comparable to eating in the comfort of your own home. Do yourself a favor and stop by. This is the type of place where you can't go wrong, everything on the menu is good.

Dropped by last Monday on my way to the Civil Rights Museum. located conveniently downtown I decided to grab a quick bite. I had the Chariots of Fire Chicken salad sandwich. tasted great, fantastic mix of flavor and texture. I was served quickly and had a great conversation with one of the owners. I look forward to returning and trying more of the menu

I enjoyed coming in here before under Lee, and the new staff appears to also be friendly. The atmosphere more or less is still there. My friend ordered a reuben, and I had a hoagie sandwich. The reuben came out on some type of bread that was not the normal, tasty rye bread that one would expect. In the past I have enjoyed the random specials that Lee would prepare, but there appeared to be none on this day, so I went with a sandwich. The hoagie was nothing to write home about. The milkshakes stayed the same. I really wish that we had stuck to our original plan and eaten at Bardog. Unless I am craving a milkshake, I will wait a while before coming back.

Still a huge fan of this spot, they just started taking credit and debit cards. Big score for gals like myself who never have cash on hand. I notice they have expanded a tad bit on their outdoor seating as well. I wouldn't call it a patio, but there's a few seats if you prefer to enjoy your sandwich outdoors on a checkered table cloth.

I got off of Beale street as soon as I stepped onto it and went in search of authentic food. Yelp in hand, I found the Front St. Delicatessen - good, cheap, local and dirty: sounded like my sort of place! I ordered a "BBQ Plate" and soda, paid $8 and headed back to the hotel. God, I couldn't wait to sink my teeth into a juicy bun of messy BBQ goodness. Ten minutes later, I sat down on my bed and opened the white styrofoam container. What. The. Fuck. A crappy, 3inch wonder-bread bun squatted forlornly and stared up at me from the sterile trough. Minute as it was, the "sandwich" dwarfed the helping of lukewarm beans which - I shit you not - was 3tbsp. I measured. I pealed off the top of the bun and hiding underneath was about 2oz of meat, topped with some yellowish coleslaw. What. The. FUCK! I ate my lunch. It didn't kill me or make me sick, so one star for that. Small blessings. Locals seem to get good food - but if you're just passing through Memphis, pass by Front St. Deli.

I come here solely for the Country Ham Biscuit Sandwich with Egg. SO GOOD!! The biscuits are soft and moist and the country ham has the perfect balance of sweet and salty. I don't know how people can pass this place in the morning and ignore the sweet, delicious scent of the country ham. If this was on my direct route to work I would be here every morning.

I can't tell you how many times I went to Front Street Deli when I was pregnant. Nothing else would do. What a great lunch spot downtown that's just full of history. The deviled eggs are fantastic- I go in for those alone. I'm also a fan of the chicken salad sandwich. Throw in some dirty chips and a big chocolate chip cookie and you might find me fighting off a nap in my office after the lunch hour. The place is small. If you've seen it in The Firm, you may not think so. But trust me, folks, it is. A counter with bar stools- no tables. You might find a couple outside when the weather is nice, but otherwise, expect to eat at the counter or take your food to go. To me, the size just adds to the charm of this place. That, and the owner. He rocks.

If it is appealing to watch a man prepare food with his bare hands after handling money and reheating coffee from a plastic pitcher in the microwave while wearing an extremely mustardish pit stained T-shirt then this is a wonderful place. The ham and biscuit was served cold which was not appealing either. I would never go back here and am sure the health department would shut it down it they visited.

As someone from a small town, it was fun to get a feel for this New York-style deli that's been open since 1976. I ordered a salad, deviled eggs (awesome, just the right amount of mustard), and an Orangina (my absolute fave), and watched as the clerk whipped up sandwiches and orders as it's been done for years. A great little place that caters to the busy lunch crowd and many regulars.
