I have been there couple times with my wife, the price is very affordable for the kind of food they have. All the times we have been there were at lunch, Sushi is good, not the best though, Plenty of yummy appetizers ranging from shrimp tempura, to fried okra, to seaweed salad, to raw shrimp. BBQ baby ribs are my favorite, as well as the Miso soup. Regarding desert, they have a small variety, but my favorites are the red bean and green tea ice cream, that are delivered based on your order, not a buffet style, despite everything else is buffet style.

I ate there for the first time tonight, after several recommendations. It was good, average, I would say. Pros: Fresh sushi with lots of options Chocolate covered strawberries (Yay) Spacious accomodations Cons: The table, or something nearby, had a funny odor. The tempura was not hot, though that's hard to do on a buffet. Overall, the food was fine. But there wasn't anything that just blew me away. If you are looking for a sushi buffet, this place is for you. Otherwise, it's average.

They have a really nice selection of sushi and a great non sushi selection for those who don't enjoy sushi. We went in as a large group and had reserved an area toward the back, they did not seem to be comepletely prepared for the large group and ran out of a lot of items on the buffet but they did re make the food as quickly as possible.

My son and I love good food. Eat Well was our absolute favorite till recently. Lunch is a good deal, but dinner is too expensive. The buffet at night is almost the same as at lunch. The best bet is lunch and for $10, you won't be disappointed. I can't say the same for dinner. Regardless, the shrimp tempura is great, as are the desserts.

This place is great. I am not a sushi fan and do not eat seafood but I will go for everything else. I have been a few times and only once the meat tasted funny. Like it wasnt done, but that was probably just me. Its clean, its unique and a nice facility. The price is fair for lunch but they double it for dinner for the same items. Not good. I will only eat here for lunch.

Really good sushi - some very creative ones, along with desserts, soups, and amazing Lychee sorbet.

We have been here two times now, once for lunch and dinner, and loved it both times! Definitely recommend it!

I guess after eating here as much as I have, I should write a review telling everyone why I eat here all the time. Some people might think to themselves, "All you can eat sushi? Sounds fishy!" (see what I did there?) AND IT IS! All you can eat sushi is fishy, and deliciously so. Because it is all you can eat and plenty of people do just that, ingredients are getting used up and served quickly, which maintains the freshness of everything you eat. Now, because of the nature of serving so much food, the quality isn't the highest, but I feel the quality of fish here competes with any place in Memphis. My biggest recommendation, come for dinner, I've tried the lunch a few times and it seems they use rice from the night before for making rolls, which is fine but I'm picky and will go ahead and pay the dinner price just to make sure the rice is as good as it can be. There are also warm foods to eat, chicken and beef teriyaki, noodles and fried rice, tempura, plenty of other choices, but the star is always the sushi. They also have a limited selection of sashimi. Then, to draw the meal to an end, they have ice cream. The only flavors worth mentioning are the green tea and red bean. Everyone loves green tea ice cream. Haven't tried it yet? Give it a go! Tried it already and love it? Be adventurous and try the red bean! Love both? Well, you and me both, kid.

New management brought me back, and I wasn't disappointed this time! Food was good and hot like I remember. Upgraded sushi bar was a nice surprise also!

I'm always skeptical of buffets. The offerings are usually mediocre at best -- lots of cheap, starchy dishes that fill you up quickly and kept under heat lamps for wayyy too long. Generally speaking, buffets are a racket. I had all this in mind when my mom said we should go to Eat Well for lunch, so I was prepared to be unimpressed. I ended up loving the place. First of all, it's a much nicer environment than what you usually find in your average pan-Asian buffet. The hostess is actually dressed, the lighting is soft (so as to hide resultant food babies from sight, I'm sure), and the decor is tasteful -- elegant even. If you're the kind of person that prefers light, fresh flavors, you'll be in heaven at Eat Well. There was an abundance of squid (spicy, stewed, sautéed, fried) and lots of fresh vegetables dishes -- all lightly sauced without tons of cornstarch and salt. There was an entire tempura section, with everything lightly battered and fried to crispy perfection. There were also big vats of deliciously spicy and fragrant tom yum soup (labeled "Thai seafood stew") as well as a really good miso soup. The sushi options are definitely more on the American side of things, with Philadelphia rolls and volcano rolls, but it is all competently done. I definitely prefer their non-sushi options though. After putting away my weight in savory items, I was craving dessert. The day I went, they had mango jello, mocha cakes, mango-coconut cakes, and coconut macaroons. Naturally, I had to try them all. ...I may or may not have had multiple pieces of mocha cake. I also may or may not have had a scoop of red bean ice cream. Overall, Eat Well is a great place to check out. I think it compares favorably to a place like Grand Pacific; in terms of bang for your buck, you can't do a lot better in terms of freshness and variety of ingredients. I will definitely be making a return visit the next time I'm in town.

All you can eat sushi and many other goodies, but the service (Mainly cashier) was with an attitude. My experience was great till it came time to pay. Just as Stephanie said, whispering and attitude from the cashier. I'm hoping she was just having a bad day and isn't like this all the time. I might come back for takeout or if invited by someone else, that's about it.

as of 26 July 2013, sadly, still closed. Eat Well CLOSED (temporarily we hope). We love this place! Be aware the last time we attempted to visit them, they were closed due to a fire (28May2013). We ended up the street (South of) at Red Sun Buffet. They were good (see review) but not like Eat Well. Hope they re-open soon!

Fabulous lunch buffet! They are open now after being closed for remodeling for a long period of time. There is an excellent selection of dishes and sushi for the luncheon. I've not been there for dinner, only lunch, but we had a huge group of people and sat in the nice room for a group. SUCH a wonderful place to have a big group of friends. Loved it! I will be back!

We went in thinking that we would be able to order off of a menu, instead of just going for the buffet. We were mistaken. Since it was dinner time, we had just walked into a $20 plus per person meal. That would have been fine had there been more than mediocre sushi and a hodge podge of "just ok" hot food. There was decent hibachi steak and chicken, the fried rice was actually pretty good, but I don't have much else complimentary to say. I guess you should kind of expect lukewarm, slightly mushy food from a buffet. This might have been a little easier to take for the $10 lunch price. The restaurant is very clean, and the staff is very attentive, however.

I bought a Groupon for this place and even though it's a trek from our house it was worth the drive. This was the first sushi buffet I have ever been to, but I was pleasantly surprised. The sushi was very good and the selection was much bigger than I had anticipated and all quite good. The tempura was good but it's hard to keep tempura fresh and hot in a buffet setting. Fried rice was a little bland. I will come back to Eat Well for the SUSHI! We went early and there were a lot of children but most were well behaved.

I came here with my in laws and husband during a recent trip. The ambiance was very nice, unlike most Asian restaurants. The food was pretty decent. Not a huge buffet but plenty of food. Sushi was very generic in flavor but there was a good variety. One minus is that I asked for my water to be refilled and didn't get it. On the other hand my husband also asked for water and his cup was filled. Besides that service was good.

Eat Well is, first and foremost, an Asian/American buffet, with sushi on the side. Don't expect a Japanese only buffet, or any of the like. Among the wasabi mashed potatoes (excellent!) and octopus, you'll find the standard french fries, chicken tenders, etc. It's the standard buffet rule - if you get the food when it first comes out, it's pretty good. The sesame chicken, garlic shrimp, et al. are pretty tasty. But you gotta ask yourself one question: "Do I feel lucky?" Well, do ya, punk? If you don't get it hot off the kitchen, the food is meh. Rubbery and lukewarm, just like any other buffet. The sushi is kinda disappointing. Standard California rolls, a few salmon rolls, etc. If sushi is your craving, go elsewhere. For $10 (lunch), it's not terrible. I eat there occasionally when in that area, if I'm ready to tackle 4000 calories and I'm wearing pants with an elastic waistband. Dinner is $20 per person, and the same food as lunch. Skip it. Atmosphere and service are great. Eat Well has a super nice space, and it feels almost classy - very pretty interior.

This place an amazing buffet bar of various dishes and sushi. The food tastes pretty good, and the deserts they have are scrumptous. I advise you to go to their during the day, because the price is half of what you would pay if you went in the nightname.

OK - to even have Sushi in the name is a bit misleading...the buffet had a majority of non sushi items which were good but the sushi selection was mostly rolls. The miso soup was good. I was hoping for some salmon, tuna, halibut - you know sushi - not cream chesse filled rolls with K crab. Thank goodness the company was great, the Kirin beer was nice and cold. I know there is better in Memphis? Thanks but no thanks!

I've read many negative reviews regarding the price. The dinner buffet is pricey at $21.88/person. But, if you eat sashimi, it is VERY much worth every penny! They have a variety of rolls, most of which are cooked. But the real treat at dinner is the sashimi. They have many varieties, and it is always fresh and tasty! My husband doesn't like any raw fish, so he enjoys the rolls...not a real sushi eater! I have done the math on the amount of sashimi I eat here versus any other sushi place. I eat well over $50 worth of sushi from anywhere else! So, the "pricey" dinner buffet is a real bargain for me! The difference in lunch and dinner is the price and the availability of sashimi. Lunch is much less expensive, but they do not serve any sashimi at lunch. The only sushi available during lunch are the sushi rolls. But, they do still have a large selection. The ambiance is nice. The wait staff is always so friendly. The hot food is never left out very long. I see the staff changing out trays regularly. I LOVE this place!!

This is a must buffet we have to have every time we go back to visit Memphis. They have lots of choices and they are all good. All sushi taste so yummy. This is the best buffet ever.

Based on the price of the dinner buffet I expected a much larger buffet. I went once before for lunch, and the buffet options seemed right for the price. I went back to dinner another time, and really not much different. Maybe a few more dishes were added, but nothing good enough to make the price double. The food that was available was good, just not worth the $21 a person for dinner. Liked the sushi options as well. Definitely don't plan on returning mainly because I do not feel it is worth the price. So all in all: Good food, horrible price.

You know how some restaurants try too hard and just miss? Eat Well delivers on what it tries to do. To apply one of the most inane phrases ever, "it is what it is". But it's really good at what it is. Is it award winning grub, as in, will the Eat Well chefs be taking on Matsuharo Morimoto on Iron Chef anytime soon? Nope. But Eat Well is an honest value. Every time I've been, the sushi is fresh and tasty, as are the other items on the expansive (not expensive) buffet. And, Eat Well always has one of my favorites: pork and chicken cutlets, which is typical lunch fare in Tokyo. Here is a buffet where you can eat healthy, or pig out if you like...on relatively healthy stuff. Service is prompt and friendly. I need to visit this place more often.

I love Eat Well! I love it so much that I eat here once a week for lunch. It's Japenese/Chinese/ Sushi buffet. Before you think yuck a sushi buffet- that's what I thought when I first heard about it- trust me it's good. There are several sushi chefs who make it fresh all day long. The buffet has items like chicken, Kobe beef (melts in your mouth) noodles, rice, various veggies, tempura veggies (the sweet potatoes rock) egg rolls etc. There is a large variety of buffet items. The sushi buffet has your standard rolls and some of their special rolls. They have a tempura roll that is really good. There is a salad bar with fresh shrimp and a good ginger dressing. There's also a dessert bar but I usually skip that area after I saw they weren't made fresh (they came out of a Sysco type package). Go for lunch and save some money as dinner is a little pricey in my opinion. Dinner does include sashimi and ice cream but not enough to double the price. The weekend price is also a little higher, so for the best deal go for a weekday lunch. There is a large private room for groups and the atmosphere is nice. There are big fish tanks along two walls and if you sit in a booth by the tank you can occupy your three year old while you enjoy your sushi!

Sushi is good, but it's got one inherent flaw: it's nearly impossible to get full from eating it. That is, unless you're at Eat Well Japanese buffet. The huge Cordova buffet is perfect for sushi lovers, Asian food lovers and the adventurous. For $20, you can make as many trips to the giant buffet as you can handle. The classics (California rolls, fried rice, tempura vegetables) are there, but there's a lot of opportunity to try the more exotic offerings (like kim chee, spicy squid, Thai seafood soup and raw fish of all kinds). Apparently, I can't handle very many. I only made two trips through the line last night. On the first trip, I filled my plate with spring rolls, garlic mussels, the amazing (and not too spicy) wasabi mashed potatoes, a few pieces of sushi, raw salmon, hibachi vegetables and squid. On the second trip, I tried the Thai seafood soup (complete with tentacles), cucumber salad, kim chee salad, spicy squid, gyoza and tempura green beans. Most of the sushi that I had - especially what I tried from the raw bar - was surprisingly fresh. It's not the best in town, but it's better than you'll find at the grocery store and the price is right. I would go back to Eat Well specifically for the hot bar (and because I want more of the soup). Eat Well was much more sleek inside than I was expecting. Instead of the usual buffet bright lights and economized seating, the darkened dining room is lined with fish tanks, booths and private party rooms. It's kid-friendly enough for a family dinner, but classy enough for a business lunch.

4 out of 5 stars for yumminess vs. price. $15 for lunch is pricy, but the food is really good . . . I wouldn't go for dinner, just too expensive. By the way, yesterday, the sign said Salmon something, but wan't Salmon at all . . . OOPS. Still very good food! I miss the shark from the former restaurant, but the goldfish are so lovely!

I've heard amazing tales of this infamous Eat Well Sushi & Grill. I've been meaning to try it for some time now, but given that I'm with child, sushi is not an option for me at this current juncture. Sucks cuz sushi is all I crave, and I taunt myself by reading reviews on Yelp and making lists of all the places I will eat the moment I pop this kid out. This is how I found out that Eat Well is comprised of mainly cooked and imitation rolls. Perfect for me in my current state, so I went there for lunch today. The good? The service and atmosphere is no short of amazing given it is a buffet. This place is not what you would expect from a buffet- fish tanks lining the walls, lots of attention to detail in decorating and it is exceptionally clean. My waiter and the hostess that sat me were both extremely friendly and attentive. I can't say enough good about that portion of my experience. The sushi? Eh....not so much folks. I was really let down- like really, really let down. They have an insane amount of rolls to choose from- even for the lunch buffet. I was in sushi heaven when filling my plate the first go around- in fact, I had no room left for anything non-sushi related. As I tried each roll, I was more and more disappointed. Not a single one did I want to go back for seconds on. It was a chore just to finish the ones I had stocked my plate with. There was way too much cream cheese and fillers in these rolls to be any good. With sushi, less is more. Even the crunchy shrimp roll (a favorite of mine) was less than appealing. I was kind of shocked cuz they didn't have any raw sushi on the buffet at all. Not that I could have eaten any, but it would be nice to have a few simple tuna or salmon rolls to choose from in the future. As far as the other buffet options go, I'm gonna agree with the others and scratch my head at the idea of mashed potatoes and turkey on a Japanese buffet line? There were tempura veggies, fried rice, lo mein and a lot of squid options. The tempura sweet potatoes were good, but greasy as was everything else. The lunch was only 10 bucks, and that's reasonable enough- but would I pay 20 bucks for the dinner buffet here? Hells no folks. I cannot see myself coming back here on my own, if someone begged me, I might cave. The sushi options at Grand Pacific are so much better, and I think I'll stick to them in the future whenever the sushi buffet idea strikes my fancy.

This is the only sushi buffet place around so I guess if you really want to stuff yourself, you can come here. My impression is that although it is tasty, there's not actually real fish inside the sushi roll if you take a closer look! A lot of if is filled colorfully with imitation crab, smoked salmon, cream cheese, etc. I was there for lunch on a Friday so I'm not sure if this is different during dinner time or on weekends. The ambience is nice there and it does have a selection of regular buffet food other than sushi but if you're going there for the sushi quality, I'd suggest going somewhere else. As an aside, 1. there seems to be two listings of this restaurant on yelp and I think they're the same restaurant. 2. There wasn't really any fruit/salad there and when I tried to grab a banana, I realized it was plastic....but I guess most people aren't going there for fruit/salad haha

Very fine sushi and Japanese quisine. The lunch price is a great deal, but I don't feel the dinner price is equitable given the addition of just a bit of sashimi.

If we rated this place against buffets it could easily rate at five stars. Since dining just a day ago I'm teetering between 3 and 4 stars. Food is okay, much better than a typical Chinese buffet, although everything is oily. Sushi is nice but still nothing special. I wonder if one could order off a menu (?) Portions are small which is okay since it's a buffet and no one is stopping you from eating more. I'm surprised that they aren't strict with people wasting food, because I noticed it happening a bit. Interior's decor is wowing, great for a family outing or a date from Cordova. The restaurant has many aquariums, the biggest houses an army of red parrot cichlids of many sizes swimming amongst a background of freshwater meets saltwater. Want to grab their attention? Parrot cichlids are smart, just waive your hand to the top of the glass as if you would feed the fish, they will follow your lead in unison. The service is good and very attentive, available before the need to call arises. At the end of the meal you have the option of ice cream which is brought to you and is included in the buffet price. Mint chocolate and red bean were both refreshing and excellent in taste. For this area of Memphis it's not bad.. but still, I'm thinking it's look outshines it's food. Which is why I'm finally switching my vote to three stars.

I had heard about this place through friends and finally decided to give it a try for lunch.i had the buffet and I was really impressed with the selection and quality of the sushi. Very fresh and high quality. They were also nice enough to make a roll for my kids. and if you think twenty bucks for dinner is too much, two premium sushi rolls and a drink would put you at twenty bucks just about anywhere.

Mother's Day 2009. Loved it! The freshest and best selection of Sushi and Sashimi on a buffet. Definitely a "Modern Japanese Buffet" like their slogan reads. :) Very happy with the staff and everything. The restaurant is lovely! PS: The red bean ice cream was very refreshing after my meal....although I could barely eat it after all that sushi!

Sushi is amazing. It is the only reason to eat here. The buffet is otherwise sub par...but the sushi is so good that it's an automatic 5 star. Try the volcano rolls.

The owners of Eatwell explained how they decided on its name. They wanted to promote healthy diet and all the good nutrients bring from eating Sushi. The "Modern Japanese Buffet" means they intend to serve upscale dishes unlike most typicial Asian buffets. The 4 of us decided to try out this establishment from friends recommendation. My first impressin as entered, the atmosphere was very upscale with a welcoming wine coolers & giant fish tank at the lobby. Cozy bar with a full menu of drinks & wines. The friendly wait staff explained how the buffet works and took our drink order while we get started from the sushi bar end of the buffet. There were a big assortment of rolls as well as fresh sashimi, included some high end selections of salmon, tune, yellow tail, eel nigiri, octopus, surf clam. (these were dinner items only). the endless buffet also offered a soup & salad bar with large shrimp cocktail, soba noddle w/ all the fixings, of course i had to try their homemade ginger dressing which was better than most other restaurants. The hot section of the buffet includes, teriyike chicken, Grill Korean short ribs, fillet w/red wine sauce, grilled salmon as well as dumpings, fried rice, stir fry veggies and of course the tempura section with all the shrimp tempura u can eat. There were sushi & grill chefs behind the buffet line to put out fresh items at all time. They only put out a small portion at a time so the food will be fresh & hot at all time. As for the price of $21...we really feel we got a good deal since we can easily spend that for 2 Rolls at other sushi restaurants and we got to pig out and tried as much as we wanted. Our waitress insisted we try their Red Bean Icecream which was quiet different but tasty. Our hostess informed us that they will also have new items added to the buffet to celebrate all the holidays. Private dinning rooms are available at No additional charge. We thought all the food were really good, maybe we went at a peak time of the evening, everything was fresh & hot off the grill. There were something for everyone, if you dont care for the sushui ( like one of us), you can fill up on the hot items & desserts. The restaurant was clean, parking lot was well lite. I even received a special Tea Set (compliment of EatWell) for my birthday. Thank You Mr. So!! We will be back and bring friends.

I love this place. It is what it is: a buffet, not fine dining. For $12.95, you can have all or some of a great array of food. Soups, salad, boiled shrimp, raw and cooked sushi and sashimi, tempura, gyoza, rice, lo mein, boiled veggies, beef (the beef is TOUGH! Be forewarned!), some other casserole type dishes. A nice touch they've added is warmed plates for the hot items. Their condiments are superb: chopped scallion tops, cabbage kimchi, fish flakes, pickled ginger, etc., plus all the sauces you can ever want. Tempura dipping sauce, wasabi paste; you want it, they got it! I'm not a dessert eater, but they also have a small selection of items. The service is pleasant and all the employees are welcoming, including the sushi chefs keeping that stuff going. The atmosphere is tranquil. I just like the place and go by myself sometimes without feeling the least bit self-conscious if I'm out by Wolfchase to go to Costco or Best Buy or the Galleria. Try it!

Eat Well is good for lunch. Being a buffet, you get in and out quickly. The atmosphere is nice and the wait staff is usually pretty quick. I don't recall ever having to wait more than a few minutes for a table. The buffet line can slow down just a little, but that is just people being slow. The food is refreshed quickly and doesn't sit long. The sushi is good and there is a variety. The dessert portion of the buffet leaves a little to be desired. So does the soup selection. If I had a gripe, it is that they took tempura green beans off the lunch buffet. I love those things.

I love this place! Now sushi buffets can be hit or miss, usually the latter, but Eat Well has succeeded in becoming one of my very favorite restaurants. The atmosphere is very elegant and dimly lit. The buffet is large and everything is extremely fresh and artfully presented. I singlehandedly decimated their sashimi selection! What a great value for the price! Will try my best to go here every time I'm in Memphis from now on!

Well I will say that the food is somewhat different than other buffet restaurants which it does try to be what the title said Eat Well but I can't fathom paying 11.00 dollars for this buffet again. Food offering are lacking for sure here. I will say the Korean beef was the best thing I have had in a while. The sushi is about sub par which I would give it 3 stars. I might go there again but if I was on a date it would might be romantic.

We have been here several times and my kids like it.... But one only eats French fries and the other manly likes the desserts. The food has always been mostly good and I liked it because of the couches of meat since I try to avoid lots of breads and carbs. Sadly the quality has declined. Tonight will be our last visit. First, the "hot plates" were dirty. I picked up 4 plates before I found one that looked clean. I would have left except my I promised my daughter we would eat here as a reward for an achievement. The first plate had lots of nasty brown stuff smudged on it. The next had brown stuff also. The third had green stuff on it. Finally, the fourth appeared clean. Like I mentioned before, the food was ok, but not worth the weekend price, and I don't eat sushi. To top it off, I drink iced tea with meals. The tea I was given was extremely weak and watered down and tasted like instant.

I've been coming to this buffet on and off for years. It's been better some times than others. Well, the last couple trips it has been much improved. The selections and quality of food seem better. They have included some great new Korean and Thai dishes. I just started to list what I liked but actually everything I tried was pretty good. This is actually my second day in a row to drop in! That's pretty good but I have also been known to eat Noodle Star four or five days in a row! If it's this good the next time I'm in I will raise it to four stars. Keep in mind it's still a buffet and not going to be the best food you've ever had. It's clean, well staffed and quick with pretty darn good food. Perfect for a buffet.

I totally used my Yelp machine to push a coworker into a recon mission of Eat Well. The place is within walking distance of my office and a hospital. I will probably consider both on my next visit! Three for lunch...three thumbs up. It's not exactly Chinese...it's not really hibachi... and, it's not a crappy sushi buffet place with a ice cream machine either. In my mind there is no such thing as a 5 star buffet. That said, I will admit that my lunch was really good. In fact, the consensus from the people at my table was...I'll never go to that (buffet place) down the street again. 4 Star from me = NOT your typical strip mall MSG Buffet and the Sushi was WAY beyond a buffet. I'd say... If your in the area...Take it easy on the wallet and go Eat Well.

I like this place better before the fire. Before the fire, I would have given them 5 stars. After, its been a long road back to where they were. They are gradually improving but they are nowhere where they used to be as far as quality and taste. The sushi is good. Better than most other Asian buffets with sushi (Grand Pacific, Grand, Pacific Fusion). Their tempura shrimp is the best I have had anywhere. They rest of the food is good, its better than the greasy messes served in other Asian places. I visit every few months to see if they have gotten better. It appears to be a slow process with them. I hope they get back to their glory days.

Great good. The gush selections were fresh and well prepared. The grilled vegetables and extensive selection of different Asian sides was a nice touch. Love the atmosphere was a great place for dinner and the wine selection was nice.

We stumbled upon Eat Well a couple months ago. How has this place been here right under my nose and no one has ever told me about it? I've driven by here a thousand times and never noticed it. We've been here several times over the last few weeks and I am amazed every time at how good everything is. I have never been to a buffet that I could give more than three or four stars but that was until we discovered Eat Well. My only complaints are that on every visit, myself or someone in our party has been unable to get something because they weren't getting things out fast enough to keep up with the demand of those items. I know for me the Teriyaki Chicken as well as the steak has been very limited to nonexistent on a couple of visits. The only other thing is the deserts, they are dry and flavorless. Not that you'll have much room for desert but I wish they had something that was a little more palatable. Other than that everything from the fried rice to the sushi has been top notch. I still can't believe a buffet can be this good! The Teriyaki Chicken is cooked to perfection and the Sirloin Steak is so tender and flavorful, it's hard to comprehend this is buffet food. Go here now and enjoy great food at a reasonable price and prepare to enjoy buffet food as it should be.

I was not very impressed by this visit. The hostess was laughably horrible. She looked very lost and required guests to follow her around the restaurant while she decided where to place them. Seriously--she did this with every party. Then we waited ten minutes for our drinks. Never even saw the waitress in that time. The food was fresh but not especially delicious and it has to be placed on plates of varying states of cleanliness. This is an excellent place for fresh sushi mixed in with assorted mediocre Asian options. But even the fresh sushi wasn't well-constructed. It fell apart. Zach enjoyed the tempura and spring rolls and he's a big fan of the spicy pork. By far my favorite part of the meal was the ice cream: I had mango and Zach had green tea. The food here is not bad. But fresh sushi and palate cleansing ice cream isn't really enough to make up for poor service and dirty dishes.

I'm not usually a buffet person, but Eat Well is the exception! From traditional Asian fare to French fries, anyone can find something to their taste. The food is always fresh and tasty, and I've liked everything I've trees. I would especially recommend the rice, which is an absolute necessity!

Great buffet to go to for lunch. Been coming here for years and it has not disappointed yet. You have the ability to gorge yourself until you explode. I suggest you do this! Do not go for dinner , it is too expensive!

Eat well is only buffet I go to in Memphis. I'm not too much of a buffet person because I have this idea that the foods are not fresh, or good quality. However, eat well always have fresh and tasty food! after visiting it for one time, I try to go every other week or so. They recently had Tuesday lunch specials for $5.00 just on February which was even nicer. One thing I wish they had is fruits. No fruits for desserts is sad :( But I think it is worth the try! Will go back again tomorrow.

We've eaten there a couple of times, last night we were trying to remember our last experience. While the food wasn't bad, the menu choices were limited. There were a number of "fillers" on the buffet. Honestly, who wants to have mashed potatoes at a Japanese buffet? The sushi is good, just 4 to 5 choices make it a less than great experience when the price is 20 bucks a head. I just think that there should be more variety for the price. There were only 4 proteins on the bar, and no pork. I left realizing that we had forgotten we thought the place was overrated and over priced the past time we were there. There are much better buffers around for less money. Service was no better than average, the atmosphere was good considering its a buffet.

Have eaten here before and was very satisfied, cannot say that today. The sushi was excellent but the tempura was greasy and the Miso soup was very weak and bland. Service as usual was excellent.

This is absolutely the BEST Japanese/Asian style buffet I've ever been to. I've never had anything here that I hated or thought was gross, the fried rice is great, the tempura, the NY strip steak, I could continue to go on but I'd pretty much list everything. I think the best thing about this place is the sushi bar. In addition to all the great hot buffet food they have the most elaborate sushi bar I've ever seen at a buffet, and good sushi! They have all different kinds of speciality rolls, and simple rolls as well. The desserts are good, and they have different ice creams if you ask. The ambiance is good and the food is awesome, if you haven't ate here yet, your missing out.

I was dragged here by a friend and I seriously regret not putting up more of a fight. It was initially billed to me as "a sushi restaurant." A more accurate description would have been "a restaurant that serves (in addition to a bunch of random crap) something that resembles sushi." The wait-staff was courteous and seated us promptly, returning to fill drink orders and top off water glasses. I mention this only because if this dining experience had been exacerbated by poor service I'd find a way to give zero stars. The selection was a "fusion" of Old Country Buffet and Generic Asian Restaurant. I filled my first plate with non-sushi items, vowing to return. Most meat dishes were greasy, chewy, and bland. Staples like mashed potatoes were well done, but who the hell cares. The fried okra was decent. The sushi selection was unimpressive, and it looked like it had been sitting out for a while. I took a few pieces and loaded up on cocktail shrimp to boot. I even went so far as to grab an oyster on the half-shell. As I worked through the shrimp and sushi an ominous feeling started in my stomach, and I made a mental note to discard the oyster. I scarfed down a mound of shaved ginger in a vain attempt to preempt any indigestion. On the ride back to town I felt worse and worse. When asked what I thought about dinner, in order to avoid disagreement I responded with a simple, "it was okay." My indigestion subsided about halfway through 'The Hangover Part 2,' but dislike remains. Final Verdict: Don't go to Eat Well.

I've been once and although I wouldn't put up a fight to stay away I certainly won't choose to go back. I guess I was expecting something else because they didn't seem to have a lot sushi and what they did have wasn't very good. Lots of other low quality food in the buffet. One plus, I liked their atmosphere and decor. Also, I didn't see any actual Japanese people working there. I don't trust it.

My husband and I have always been impressed with Eat Well. The name of the restaurant says it all. From the 100+ gallon aquarium across from the hostess stand to the large array of sushi, vegetables, and grilled buffet items, this place is a visual feast. Of course, the better news is you can try all the delicacies the chefs have prepared. There is a rather steep set place for lunch and dinner but you will not go away hungry. I can assure you of that!

Had to update my review. We ate here yesterday for lunch. Dining was a good experience until it got to paying. We ate w/ friends who's son didn't eat & sat there playing on a phone the whole time. They told the cashier & she & the waitress started whispering & making us feel embarrassed as if we were lying to get a free lunch. It was loud whispering & waitress obviously had him confused w/ our son. Instead of whispering & giving us attitude & making us feel like crap they should've said it to our face & we could've fixed the confusion. So my husband & I was pretty upset & we decided to use our groupon that day last minute after already paying the tab so we wouldn't have to return. We were planning to use it next time since we forgot, but since they were making us feel like thieves, we didn't want to have to come back anymore. Cashier starts giving us more attitude. Suggests we use it next time & walks away w/ attitude. So husband & I decides to push it even more because now we even more definitely don't want to come back. We wait patiently for her & tell her nicely if we can redo the receipt & add the groupon to it. So she does it but you can tell she's irritated & our waitress comes back & More whispering between her & our waitress. Rude, rude, rude. Not coming back.

After reading my fellow Yelpers rave about this place, I decided to go and see what all the fuss was about. And it looks like I'm gonna have to hop on the band wagon myself now. I love this place! It's a buffet, and I am not a fan of buffets usually. Because I worry that things are left out too long and aren't fresh. But that was definitely not the case here. The sushi was perfect! And there was a lot of variety to choose from. There's one price for everything and it's all you can eat. Lunch is about $11 per person and dinner is $20. That does not include beverages. But honestly, when is the last time you could eat good sushi (and lots of it) for those prices? So yeah - I am huge fan now and definitely recommend it highly.

  • J Z.

Soooooo good for bad, Americanized sushi! Everything is pretty much loaded with cream cheese, mayo or tempura-style batter, so don't be fooling yourself thinking you are getting a low-calorie "sushi" meal. The lunch deal is great, the dinner deal? Not so much. The sashimi is centuries old and doesn't taste remotely fresh. Still - a great place to PIG OUT. Yum! In fact, I think I might just go tomorrow :)

I popped my sushi cherry here and have since been back. What I like about it is the range of food on the buffet, It is a great place to go for someone like myself who had never eaten sushi but wanted to try understanding there would be plenty of other food to eat. The staff behind the sushi counter was helpfull in explaining every piece, I simply told him I wanted nothing raw and he explained every piece he reccomended. Atmosphere is awesome, good for casual large groups and the couple seeking a calm environment..The fishtanks are great. I want to try the lunch buffet here, but I was afraid my options may be limited. If anyone has more details (is the lunch buffet as large as the dinner buffet?) I would appreciate the feedback.

I can totally relate to the guy straddling the 3-4 star mark. The food is okay. I would say average to above average. It can be oily. I found the fried rice to be really good though. The selection is good - they have tender hibachi steak, chicken, shrimp - even squid (though it was overcooked and tough). The sushi is good...I wish they had a better method of telling you which is which. (I don't even want to try eel - so I steer clear of it) The rolls I did have today were fresh and the flying fish roe on the California roll popped in my mouth - good quality there. The lunch buffet is $10/pp and $3-4 for a child. The dinner buffet was advertised at $20/pp and in addition to the lunch fare, they also serve sashimi, fried oysters, and soft shell crab. The atmosphere really sets the place off - the lighting is low and there are lots of aquariums, as the pictures show. Very cool.

One of the nicest buffets I've ever been to, it had very nice lighting, and good atmosphere. The buffet area is small but has a good selection of food. I brought my 2, 3 and 4 yr old with me and even they enjoyed their food. The price is a bit high though and for dinner it's just down right expensive. Other than the price, I really have no complaints. The service was good as well.

Every time I've been there, they've had between 8 or more sushi options, and a decent buffet of japanese-style dishes as well as tempura veggies and shrimp. For 10 bucks for lunch, it's quite a good deal. It's not an "authentic" japanese place, but I like it better than the average chinese buffet that has sushi, and it's much cheaper than going to a place like sekisui which sometimes has mediocre sushi and you pay way more for it.

I don't like sushi. I was at this place because some family members really like it...and it was their birthday. I won't go back n my own. Waaaaay overpriced for what you get. And what you get ain't that great. Most of the food was dried out standard asian buffet fare. Spring rolls had a fishy taste. Most of the stuff I wouldn't even try, as it was more than a little tired. Shrimp tempura was tasty, but was clearly made of chopped, formed shrimp bits, as they were long, cigarette shaped things. Weird. Green bean tempura was OK...but getting limp. It was neat that they labeled every dish. Would have been way neater if the labels actually reflected what was in the serving dish. I liked that they had small dishes for various sauces. That's missing from a lot of buffet lines. The cold boiled shrimp was OK...but that's hard to mess up. I got brave and had a couple of mussels. They were also OK. You will note I use the term "OK" a lot. I would have liked to say "Great" or even "Good." But, really...it was mostly just "OK."

When I think of buffet, I think kind of cheesy, alot of variety but basic food choices. But Eat Well Sushi is the BEST Buffet I have ever experienced!!!! No need to even look at the menu. I've been to Memphis twice in the past month and my second trip, I made sure that I went here at least once! I don't know what more to say but I can't WAIT to go back!!!

Started by the same folks who opened China Inn and Chow Time, Eat Well is their attempt at a Japanese buffet. I was skeptical at first, but quickly won over. Dinner is 20 dollars, and the buffet is split into two halves, the first with normal Chinese/Japanese food and the second with sushi rolls and sashimi meat. Everything is fresh and made on the spot. I particularly liked how they rotated items in-and-out. Get the green tea ice cream for dessert.

A contractor took us out to lunch today and said we were going sushi. I was hesitant because I have had the local sushi, not the best. I spent over a year in Okinawa Japan where the main staple is rice and seafood(1998-2000). This is a newer place called Eat Well, and you do. They have a buffet, not the typical oriental buffet. You will not find chow young fat chicken(joke), or sweet and sour sauce (yes I know this is Japanese and not Chinese). Everything is made fresh from scratch. This is a one-off store so the meal is not prepared in another state or country. The other side of the buffet is the kitchen so you see them preparing your food. They make small dishes so it is fresh, nothing is more than 10 minutes old with more than 30 items to choose from, and then there's the sushi... Here is their website below. They are not a chain, and yes, the pictures are EXACTLY what the food and ambiance are like. Oh, by the way, the All-you-can-eat lunch buffet is only $9.88!!!! That includes sushi. It's more on the weekend, I dont know if they offer more selection or not. And try the home made green tea ice cream, yummy($2 extra for lunch, included in dinner). Maybe I'm overzealous about this place but I loved the food and the ambiance. Eat well, leave happy. eatwellsushiandgrill.com…

This restaurant replaced the old Hunan Chinese Buffet. A new set of owners and management have transformed the place into a more cool and elegant place with a very good seating arrangement, not the typical chinese style. Food was cooked and replenished every time a platter goes out and they do it fast. From what I saw, dishes prepared were the commonly cooked like steak, sushi and tempura were prepared. Udon, teppanyaki and others were not on the menu or was not something that I saw. Everything was really good except for the price. For adults, expect to pay $19.95 for dinner buffet and $9.95 for lunch. Kids go for $6 for those under 5 and $12 for over. Party of 5 or more will be charged an automatic 15% tip as from what I experienced.

It has been a while since I've been to this restaurant. I don't recall the food being this bland. This food has almost no flavor at all. The buffet in Germantown is better.

BEST SUSHI BUFFET. EVER. Seriously. Dinner will run you about $15/person but it is well worth it. They have a huge, very creative selection of sushi. Don't be boring! Try the sweet fruit sushi rolls! The rice is sweet & it all works together so beautifully. If your partner isn't into sushi, no worries. They have all sorts of delicious things, most made on a grill right behind the buffet. The desserts are no joke either. Typical buffet desserts but fresh. The chocolate dipped strawberries are THE BOMB. Juicy, fresh berries dipped in thick, semi-sweet chocolate. Don't let the dewy look fool you. Its just a simple syrup (sugar & water) spray to make them pretty. Don't forget the sashimi!! Thick cut, as opposed to typical thin slices. Best. Place. Ever & the orange fish in the big tank smile. Seriously, check it out.

I will say from the beginning, that I am not a sushi connoisseur. It's not even one of my favorite meals to eat. But every once in awhile, I need a change from the typical stuff I eat. That being said, this place is very good. I have tried other sushi places in Memphis, and I felt the numerous selection of rolls at Eat Well were just as good as anything else I've had. The selection is absolutely huge, with probably 20 different kinds of sushi rolls, plus numerous fresh sashimi. For those that aren't into sushi, there is also ample selection of hot Japanese dishes as well. At the end of the meal, you are also given a choice of ice creams that they will bring you, included in the cost. I tried the red bean ice cream, and it was very unique, and delicious. I'm now a fan of red bean ice cream! For the sushi lover, and even the non-sushi lover, give this place a try!

We just went to Eat Well for the first time. To be honest we have held off trying it because buffets can be a scary place. We were scared for nothing! All the food was delicious! I went for the sushi but I will go back for all the delicious grilled meats! The spicy korean chicken was awesome...I could eat that all day long. There was plenty for picky kids to choose from too. I loved the veggie selections and again...the meat!! Steak and chicken prepared perfectly. Lots of variety and dishes to choose from. Plenty for vegetarians to choose from. Then we finished it off we with a delicious chocolate covered strawberry. Yum! Definitely recommend!

I'm really impressed. One of the few times I've ever had a good Asian buffet experience. Whether off the hot items, sushi rolls, seafood or dessert, this place serves up good food. No complaint about the price. I've dined here with business colleagues over lunch and wifey on the weekends. The staff is attentive and the facility is very clean and well appointed. Suggest you give it a try.

There is just something lost when combing a buffet with Sushi. Being able to sample so many different rolls is great but the freshness is lacking. The cost is great and if you are in a hurry it's not bad. But fine dinning it is not.

  • Sierra M.

I love this eclectic buffet. The atmosphere is soft and dark which gives a great illusion of privacy. The food is a wonderful mix of American cuisine, traditional Japanese fare and sushi that can (and does) make your mouth water. The only thing I truly dislike... the desserts. Or lack thereof. Chocolate dipped marshmallows and spongy cakes. That's it. They do offer to bring a bowl of ice cream. But that is all. And their salad bar leaves one lacking. Other than that, it's a great semi-upscale buffet to settle your sushi cravings.

Wow $10 for a lunch buffet is a steal. I went in there thinking it's a sushi buffet but its a lot more than that. Most of the items are cooked on the grill and very lightly sauced.(Looks a lot healthier than your regular buffet) I absolutely fell in love with the grilled chicken breast which are grilled in big pieces. The sushi was super fresh and there were about 30 different rolls to pick from. You're getting grest value for a $10 lunch. Next time I'll stop by during dinner to see what $20 gets me.

  • Rick G.

The pluses - friendly staff, yummi gyoza, and they even had creme brûlée cups for dessert. The negs: Their sushi (buffet) was just the typical buffet experience. Lotsa food, moderate quality/taste. Not a bad place, passable food, but not a "first choice"..

Yum! I am so glad this place has reopened. I love that its a "high end" buffet. Lunch is $13.95 and dinner is $19.95, IMO it's best to go at lunch. Very nice food options : steak, seafood, teriyaki chicken , tempura shrimp , ect. There's at least 20 different sushi rolls with a nice variety of ingredients. Good salad bar but I never waste tummy room on that. Desserts are ok but they will also bring you ice cream.

I am a regular customer of this restaurant. As a buffet setting, it is 5 stars for me for the overall quality, variety, and good dining ambience. The staff and servers are very friendly for sure. I call this buffet an "upscale" one for it is much better (and of course more expensive) than most of the cheap Chinese buffets you usually go to. This buffet provides a variety of really good gourmet entree items like Asian spiced stewed beef (my favorite), Vietnamese spiced salmon, Korean spiced pork, stir-fried seafood (real shrimps, scallops and squid!) with vegetables, tonkatsu (Japanese fried chicken cutlet), Thai curry chicken, Chinese spiced ribs (very delicious!) I tried all of them, and they are consistent and delicious! (Imagine you will probably have to pay $15 for any of those single entrees at a restaurant!). This buffet also offers good side dishes, such as spring roll, tempura (shrimp and a variey of vegetables), pot stickers, grilled veggies and seafood, fried rice and noodles. They are delicious as well. I am impressed with the tempura, especially. Though being in a buffet setting, they change foods quickly to keep every item fresh. Now, the sushi section. Most of the rolls are decent, though I would not compare them to the rolls made to order at a sushi bar. But still, those rolls are still good enough. Another great thing about this buffet is that they offer a variety of sashimi! They have salmon, tuna, yellow tail, octopus, etc and they are surprisingly fresh! Since sashimi is popular, they are out quickly but re-stocked very quickly too! Their mussel with mango salsa is very tasty too! I also like its salad section since it has my favorite seaweed salad! Their soup section is decent too (miso, seafood and Vietamese ). Seafood soup is a must try. :) As for the dessert, I usually only eat the creme brulee, which is good (and all you can eat!) I am not really impressed by the variety of the cake, though. (As another reviewer mentioned, I would rather they have fewer cake items but upgrade their dessert section as a whole.) They also offer green tea and azuki bean ice cream, and they are yummy! They also offer unlimited stir-fried clams and crawfish. Your server usually asks if you want some of them, and they will bring them to you. I am not a fan of crawfish, so I sometimes asked for clams, which are yummy! Overall, I think this buffet is a very good one. I usually left this place with satisfaction! Now I either go there once a week or at least every other week. :)

Food is good. However they refused to honor 2015 Entertainment Coupon for 25% off entrees for up to 4 people. They said they didn't know why the coupon appeared in the book! Very poor way to handle..... I won't be back.

As much as I would love to give Eat's Well a "5" star, I cannot. Eats Well recently reopened a few months ago after being closed for a year or more. Before they closed, the food was amazing and delicious! However, when they reopened things were not the same. I have visited Eats Well twice since their reopening and both times I've left unsatisfied. The Customer Service is great, and I love the waiters and waitresses. However, the food isn't so amazing anymore. The sushi is fresh yet it's not the best, the desserts are disgusting and some of the meats on the buffet are dry. Also, the dinner buffet is over priced. Nice atmosphere yet, the food isn't that great. To say the least, it will get you full and satisfy your hunger. BUT, it won't completely satisfy your taste buds! Alternative Tip: Try Osaka; they have the BEST sushi and fried rice. Good Luck! Warm Regards, Kenus Lee

Eat Well is a solid American Japanese buffet experience all around. As a Memphian, this is my favorite Asian & sushi buffet in the area. Wait time: There is usually no wait time, as the restaurant is considerably large. Atmosphere: Super clean and neat for the most part as well as a sort of a "formal" ambience feel to it. Service: Waiters/waitresses are very professional & do a good job topping off drinks & checking up on customers. Food: The food here is ALWAYS fresh & hot! The buffet line is also directly in front of the grill which is awesome. There is a lot of variety to pick & choose from & the food is pretty tasty unlike a lot of other buffets. Make sure you go for lunch, as the price doubles for dinner (with a couple more food options). Solid experience every time: 4/5

Spaciously huge tables. Beautiful decor (no more fish tanks though) Delicious tom yum and that asian seafood soup i only get to have at asian wedding receptions. Those were the positives of my second visit. Steak Service okay sushi selection. feeling extremely bloated after just 2 plates(and i mostly only had their assortment of kimchi and some meats) tempura the bads I still do like the atmosphere of the place but overall the food needs a bit more work, the tempura for instance is a bit soggy and relies to heavily on the tempura sauce to give it flavor, spring rolls felt frozen cold inside. The sushi selection for lunch could also do with a complete overhaul, definitely less handrolls with cream cheese and cooked crawfish. Fresh fruit would also be a huge plus. (they do have chocolate covered strawberries but make sure to get that fast, they replaced it with a mini smores thing) Aside from the soup, pork skewers and flank steak, do yourself a favor and order a la carte from somewhere else. Hopefully dinner is more bang for your buck and they'll have a decent selection of sashima. Oh and food quality is just fine, they just don't know how to season or keep their hands light on the grease.

Think Texas de Brazil for sushi. They have redesigned the sushi bar a little and expanded the buffet as a whole. Sushi good? Check. Great buffet options? Check. Prompt and attentive service? Check. This place has got it all. As a sushi and buffet lover, the two of these together is just about the best idea for a restaurant. I seriously don't mind the higher price because I think they are coming out on the losing end here.

    (5)
  • Gerald M.

Its a good buffet for the price. The dinner meal is worth the extra $$ because of the crawfish and the thick sliced sashimi. The short-ribs are a must and also the tempura. Sushi rolls are average but will suffice your cravings. I would take my guest here when they visit.

I used to love Eat Well. I really did. I was such a big fan of them in every way, from the giant fishtanks to the huge glasses of perfect sweet tea to the great sushi to the... well you get the point. Then, they closed... for a long time. I actually did not even realize that they were back open, but I went with some friends to check them out last weekend. First, let's talk about the good stuff: the sushi is pretty great. The key is, it's fresh! I would not pick it over a dedicated super expensive sushi joint but for the price you cannot beat their wide selection and unlimited nom nom nom... sorry, got carried away. The fried shrimp was still great, the spicy pork was good, and the dessert cakes looked as good as ever. The waitress kept me with plenty of that delicious sweet tea too, so that was good. Then Stephen, you say, why not four stars then if the sushi, service, and tea were great? Here is the problem: the hot items were not that great (except for a seafood dish, the shrimp, and the spicy pork). Also, about 1/5 of the buffet was tempura (where it used to have a lot more variety of foods available. That being said, I am not being critical. If everything was like that and the sushi, service, and tea were as good as they were, I would normally give four stars. There were two major problem areas: one, the table smelled. It smelled like it had been wiped down with a dirty rag. This kind of puts one off the food. Worse than that, however, was the heat. It was hot in there, the air was on 80 and they said it was not working right. I don't mind eating while I sweat, as long as it's from the spices! In this case, it was just hot. I don't do hot. Not when I am eating, not when I am NOT eating. So, three stars because I am deducting one for cleanliness and comfort issues. I will probably be back.

This place isn't bad. Definitely not the best sushi.... I mean it's a buffet, what do you expect? But it's pretty cool. I'd say the food is a step up from the average Chinese buffet.. More like casino buffet food. The hostess was super friendly and so was the waitress. This is a good place for groups because the tables can be moved together. If you're looking for a lot of food for a good price, I'd check them out.

So far it's the best sushi in Memphis... Love the layout of the buffet, great selections to choose from, and they even have miso soup (which is my kryptonite)... The place was quite busy on Friday afternoon for the lunch crowd swarming through for a quick bite, but we were there for at least an hour and a half, sampling little bits of everything and enjoying. Waitstaff here is very friendly and knowledgeable of the items on the buffet, which is a plus. Overall it's a great buffet for those who like a little bit of everything to go with their sushi...

Eat at grand pacific. More selection, better food, and cost less. However, the decor and atmosphere was much better than grand pacific.

One of the few best buffets I've ever had! Excellent staff and food. Couldn't ask for more. Different kinds of menu, most of the food was YUMMY! Wish I lived nearby :(

What? Japanese buffet? I've never heard of this before till I went to Eat Well restaurant with one of my co-worker. Man oh man, this is by far the best Japanese cuisine in town.

Try it!

Whenever I have friends from out of town come over, I always mention eat well first. I think it has actually gotten better since the renovation. Waiters are friendly. Atmosphere is great. Food is great. Can't go wrong. Trust me.

There is just something lost when combing a buffet with Sushi. Being able to sample so many different rolls is great but the freshness is lacking. The cost is great and if you are in a hurry it's not bad. But fine dinning it is not.

Looks like people are moving things into restaurant and one dumpster is gone. Hopefully will open in a few months . If I had been driving I would have jumped out of the car and asked .

  • Kay H.
