Bogie's and I... we kinda have a thing going on. A budding breakfast romance. It started when my husband brought me home a honey turkey bagel. It's turkey and Swiss served on a cinnamon raisin bagel. Sound gross? That's what I thought. But it's just crazy enough to work. I try to swing through between 9 and 11 when the breakfast sandwiches are half off. I never have to wait long at breakfast time, but lunch can be another story as Clark Tower and other nearby offices bring in a fair amount of business. The potato soup is awesome, though - and worth waiting for.

This is my go to breakfast place, the Blueberry Bagel with Blueberry cream cheese is DELICIOUS! I want to come back here for lunch and try all of the delicious sandwiches on the menu! Great, convenient location, has lots of seating both inside and on their patio. They also offer lots of options for take home, lunch meant, bread and sides!

Well... I came in and got a roast beef sub. The service was friendly, the shop very cozy... kinda a wood finish to the place like some sort of 1700s dock pub. I like it. When I opened my styrofoam container holding my sandwich I have to say I was very disappointed. There didn't seem like much meat to justify the almost $8 sandwich, but it was made from boars head so... what the heck. My first bite into it... my disappointment was met. The bread was kinda cold, kinda flavorless overall and not really soft at all... I'm just not a fan of that kind of bread. I also would have preferred sliced tomatoes instead of the coarse chop that I got. Of course I'm just talking about my first bite... fast forward a couple seconds and the bogies dressing kicks in and OMG this sandwich is pretty amazing. In conclusion... well the sauce was amazing, spectacular... but it wasn't really enough to save the sandwich, texturally I completely hated it, taste wise... meh aside from the sauce the rest wasn't that great... I'm definitely willing to give bogies another chance though... though definitely want something else with extra sauce or something. Oh and the ingredients are extremely fresh and good quality :) JUST FAIR WARNING ON THE BLAND FRENCHISH DOUGHY SUB ROLL

My experience at Bogies was a serious let down from the moment I walked in the doors. A little organization would go a long way in this establishment. When I arrived, there was quite a line, and not just of people waiting to purchase and order their food, but also random people who had already purchased food standing and milling around conversing. I didn't quite know where I belonged, nor where to look to order. There are about 5-6 white boards with specials written down, some with panini options, others with cold cut options. I figured this was the extent of their menu, there were no menus to be found. So, my husband and I settled for the specials of the day, the rosemary ham sandwich and the egg and olive salad sandwich. I also picked up a key lime pie bar and decided I wanted to try the corn chowder. All of this ran us a cool $30 bucks with tip. To say that I was expecting a lot would be an understatement. When I finally got to the front of the line, there were 7 people behind us, I noticed menus stacked up in front of the register. There were tons of menu items I hadn't even seen because there was no possible way to get up to the register and being that I had never been here before I had no clue it was even there. We ordered and went and had a seat. We couldn't figure out if we were supposed to provide our own drinks, or if they came out with our order, so we waited. Let the anxiety ensue folks! Bogies wait staff walks around with completed orders on trays shouting out the name of the person who ordered at the counter. So, in essence, your lunch trip will entail you attempting to have a convo with your lunch partner(s) all the while one of the waiters screaming "AUDREY!" or "PAUL" or "BOB" 800 times before Audrey, Paul or Bob remembers that is their given birth name and decides to wave a hand up so they know where to deliver this food. At first, it was endearing. After 20 minutes of waiting for 2 cold cut sandwiches and a cup of soup, it became less endearing and more and more annoying by the second. Yes, I said that we waited for 20 minutes. How the eff long does it take for you to make a cold cut ham sandwich and slap some pre-made egg salad on bread? Seriously? Were you boiling the eggs and making the salad to order? Did you make my corn chowder from scratch right after I ordered it? I didn't think so. When it did arrive, our waitress (appropriately wearing sweat shorts shorter than most pairs of underwear I own) commented "I'm sorry was the wait too long?" My husband replied with his unhappiness. She shrugged her shoulders and said "sorry," and went on about screaming out names. Unacceptable. The food was sub par, but at this point they could have brought out the best deli creations known to man and they still would have been lacking. I could have made the same sandwiches at home in a much speedier fashion for MUCH less money. I counted 2 slivers of green olives in my egg and olive salad sandwich, and it was so bland I had to add salt. And, forget about getting refills here, it ain't gonna happen. It was so bad, the couple next to us started up a conversation about how ridiculous the wait was and how unorganized this deli happened to be. Never a good sign Bogies, never a good sign. I'd also like to point out that you can purchase book cases with doors or some kind of storage system for the Rubber Maid containers you have on shelves holding individual bags of chips, the random CD player sitting on the wall and whatever the hell else all that junk was decorating the back of your establishment. Not only does it look horrendous, but it gives your patrons an idea that perhaps you don't quite know how to assemble a well-oiled restaurant machine. I'd love to try all the good-looking salads and menu items we saw on other folk's trays. I am sorely disappointed we didn't get to look at the regular menu before ordering. There were quite a few things I spied that I would have loved a chance to get my mouth around. I'm on the fence because not only was it outrageously expensive, but when service is this horrible, there's no reason to frequent this establishment. Word to the wise, Bogies, you need to set up some sort of system so that new patrons know what the heck is going on. You also need to learn to make 2 sandwiches and a bowl of soup faster. I've witnessed the one-man show at Front Street Deli. He handles 4-5 customer orders at a time, all the while slicing the deli meat for each order. If he can do it, I think you're 8-10 staff members can too.

I used to live in Memphis so whenever I go back for a visit, I pretty much always go to Bogie's. This particular time I had breakfast - a sausage, egg, and cheese on one of their amazing wheat bagels. I stole a bite of my sister's potato salad (ok, more than one bite... so we had to go back and get a second order of it). Their salads are to die for - the simple, oil and spice dressing is amazing. The meats are Boar's Head (yes, you know it's the best). And their cakes are from a bakery outside Memphis... try the strawberry cake! Or buy an entire one for a party or just because. LOVE this place!

The best deli in Memphis! They literally pile on the meat and the cakes are out of this world. Also the burgers are pretty awesome as well! Recommend to everybody I know! Arby's hasn't got anything on their sandwiches.

I think Bogie's is my favorite deli in Memphis. From their roast beef deluxe sandwich, delicious soups, and pasta salad, you can't go wrong! The dressing they put on their sandwiches is so good, too! I just wish they were open more in the evenings.

Just get me a permanent booth here because I just love this place. I can eat their potato salad and pasta salad and just about everything on the menu all day long. So much to choose from, so many sandwiches and a ton of different types of grilled cheese. Ultimate deli comfort food. Did I mention the spinach bisque ? Yum This place is so cozy and so East Memphis. In love

Good sandwiches - good service. We like the muffuletta - it's huge. Potato salad is my wife's favorite. We would eat here a lot if they had wine by the glass. Great place to pick up dinner on your way home.

Don't get me wrong, I love the food here but . . . It's the priciest sandwich place in town and I've seen a decline in the amount of meat in sandwiches over time. Unused to be the sandwiches were loaded with mean but now, meh - see my picture. $8 for a sandwich that doesn't include any sides is a bit steep in my opinion. Adding chips and a drink brought my total over $12, I'd rather get a hot meal for that price. All of the sides are really great though is I mostly come here when I'm having a craving.

I have always loved this place. I have been eating here for so many years. I usually always get the classic roast beef sandwich with a side of their amazing pasta salad! I could eat and eat and eat that pasta salad. This past time I went for lunch and I ordered the grilled chicken wrap. I ended up ordering it on the tomato basil wrap instead of the wheat...the best choice I had that day. It was so yummy and refreshing. It was the perfect light lunch that day with of course a side of that pasta salad. This is the best place to get a fresh yummy sandwich for a quick lunch!

Luncheon on Friday; far to cool inside (meat locker); underwhelmed with my sandwich; deviled eggs ok. I used to visit several years ago; Friday was disappointing - do they have new ownership?

I am completely in love with the oil on their sandwiches. I literally dream about it. This is the original location in my opinion, although I'm not sure if that is even true. It is just the first location I discovered years and years ago, so it will always hold a special place in my heart. The staff is so friendly and if you go in a few times they will know you by name and treat you like family. I have never had a bad thing here...but pasta salad and red velvet cake are my complete addictions. When my father passed away I had so many of my friends bring me pasta salad from here because they knew it was the ultimate comfort food. Did I mention the oil on their sandwiches?

It takes great bread to make a great tuna sandwich and I got both at lunch today at Bogie's!

I was introduced to this place awhile back, and I found it a rather pleasing place to enjoy a lunch. I had a Blazing Buffalo Chicken wrap, and boy was it good. Along with chips and a large sweet tea, the meal was defiantly a filler-upper. Sitting down inside the restaurant gave me a feeling of comfort and relaxation that I rarely find now a days in many restaurants and establishments. Prices are very reasonable. Check out a great sandwhich shop next time your are in Memphis!

Dear Bogies, I love your potato salad. I love your tuna salad. I really love that you have both of these in your salad sampler! This place is a carb lovers heaven. The have bagels, breads, cookies, and cakes galore. I've never been to breakfast but for lunch the sandwiches are delicious. I always go with the salad sampler though. It's enough for 2 meals. And get a slice of strawberry cake...

Normally, I wait a few weeks to write a review of places. Mostly because I like to keep my adoring public clamoring for more reviews (you're welcome), but also because time tends to temper any intense feelings and will allow me to write a more accurate review. So, I'm breaking my own rule by writing this review shortly after eating here, but I'm feeling rebellious. Bogie's is located on Mendenhall and Popular, just after the train tracks. I pass this place every morning on my way to work, and they have this giant yellow eye-catching sign advertising breakfast. Since my favorite people are bacon, eggs, and cheese, this proves mighty tempting. Today, I ran out of Cheerios's (sorry, heart!) and decided to hit up Bogie's on the way into work. The store was empty when I walked in at about 9 am, and there was a fairly attentive dude behind the counter, prepared to take my order. Whiteboards, chalkboards, billboards, pushboards, and various other reflective surfaces abound and they are all adorned with specials, menu items, and goodies. Of course this places a huge amount of pressure on anyone who wants to order. You're trying to process all this information while the guy behind the counter is tapping his pen, the costumer behind you is tapping their foot, your companion is tapping you on the shoulder....finally, you just blurt out LOX BAGEL at the top of your lungs. What the hell is a Lox Bagel? I dunno. I heard Larry David order one on Curb Your Enthusiasm, so I did too. Turns out its smoked salmon with cream cheese, capers, tomatoes, and onions. I also ordered the Haminator wrap, which is ham, bacon, cheese, peppers, and tomatoes. Neither one was very good. In fact, neither one was very bad. I haven't been in the presence of this much mediocrity since the 2012 season opener for the Memphis Tigers Basketball Team (BOOM)! Both were flavorless, effortless excuses for food. i would rather still be hungry, honestly. I think the reason I am so frustrated with Bogie's is the fact that it's a deli. I mean, really?! 2 slices of ham and 2 slices of precooked, reheated strips of bacon and that's a wrap? How bout some condiments? It's not difficult to make a great sand which. You know what i would put in the haminator? SOME EFFIN HAM! I could make a better sandwich in my kitchen, and I'll charge yall less money, too.

I have a small business and when we get together for lunch, Bogies is the only one we can all agree on! Great food! My personal favorite is the salad sampler .Everyone is always so pleasant there! I always order extra potato, pasta and broccoli salad for family cook outs. My favorite deli place in Memphis!

Average deli joint. I had better pastrami sandwich at Jason's Deli. Try the "Yankee" at Jason's! It's closer to an original sandwich than this place.

Great place for your lox & bagel fix, as well as fresh sandwiches, cookies and breakfast bagels. Try the 'Rachel'; pastrami w/swiss, Russian dressing and spicy mustard on marble rye.

Got red velvet cake to go for my husband's birthday. Although fairly pricey as far as cakes go, it did not disappoint. My hubby thanked me for not getting him a birthday cake from Walmart this year! LOL!
