My friend and I decided to veir away from the bars and dine something light around 9:40pm after the Delta Fair. We just needed a seating for 2 and was advised by the host they were booked and we were on the list for the next available. Good thing we only waited for less than 10 mins so it wasn't that bad. Our server was very sweet and prompt to take our orders and even suggested the days specials and popular drinks. We had to decline as we were just looking for some small plates since it was getting late. The Jumbo lump crab stack was on point. Fresh lump crab on top followed by a layer of freshly cooked shrimp all on a base of freshly diced apples/mangos/avocados. This tasted so refreshing I wish I had ordered another. Our 2nd dish was the key west fish tacos. Soft shelled, grilled mahi-mahi with a side of ancho-chili sour cream. It was good but personally I like my fish tacos with a hard shell. Will be back to visit on their happy hr nights Sun-Thur for half price drinks and appetizers 9pm-10pm

Pretty good for a light lunch! I nibbled some coconut shrimp and a chipotle beef rice bowl. Kids menu is a nice variety as well and my son enjoyed the mac and cheese. I tried his and it wasn't your typical yellow sauce but it was very good! The atmosphere is creative and really sets a fun mood, the seating areas are nicely decorated. Will be back soon to sample more of the menu.

Very good food & live entertainment at reasonable prices. The restaurant had a carribean feel to it as if you were on a tropical island. Very friendly staff.

The food here, especially the dinners, are plentiful, and tasty. I ordered the Grilled Jamaican Jerk Chicken, and it was the bomb. My babesters ordered the Jerk Pasta; one word: Delicious! This place is worth spending the money on! They also have live music. :)

Every time I dine here I like to enjoy the patio. There is where you may find live music, a cute bar set up, and a nice relaxing vibe. The drinks here are great. I enjoyed the grilled salmon on my last visit. If it weren't for the busy traffic on Germantown PKWY and the mall surrounding the place, you might actually forget where you are!

First time trying the coconut shrimp. It was pretty good. The rice was cold and the sweet potato was great! I'm a big spinach dip fan and I can honestly say I will never order there dip again. It's just not my style. Overall the service was good.

A little disappointed at first, but ended with a bang. Called in to make a reservation for a party of twenty and was told no reservations could be taken but we can put your name on the list.( confused me). We get there and everyone is there within 10 minutes of each other. Now she says It will be 1 1/2 hours before being seated. After 30 minutes they opened another section to accommodate us. Our server made it happen and took care of us.

WORST SERVICE EVER!! I was with a large party which had called ahead to make reservations - we called 4 times and were reassured that our tables would be ready. We arrived on time, but had to wait more than an hour for our tables. Management was cold and unfriendly. After being seated, we didn't get water for another 30 minutes to an hour, our lunches took 45 minutes to 1 1/2 hours to be served and some people were still getting served as others were leaving hours later. This restaurant is poorly managed. I ordered a simple black bean burger (probably Morningstar Farms black bean burger), yet the single piece of lettuce on it was wilted and a little slimy. The fresh fruit salad on the side consisted of a few little pieces of pineapple and some grapes. Very underwhelming. Overall, I would say that there are many restaurants with better food, service and prices. Go elsewhere.

The food and drinks were great. I got an ultimate pina colada. It was fantastic. But, the server was a jerk. We asked him about the menu and we had to drag the information out of him. I ordered two appetizers he only brought me one. By the way, the servers name was Kevin (caucasin male with a goatee). When I asked him about my second appetizer he got an attitude with me and said, "I have a lot going on, I can't remember everything you said". We waited until he brough our entree and then I asked to speak with the manager. The manager was less than helpful as well and said that he would speak with the waiter. Which he did but, the manager didn't do anything to rectify the servers obvious lack of care for the restaurants patrons. Needless to say the food didn't outweigh the horrendous service. I will not visit this restaurant again.

This place has a great happy hour! Try their signature beer-Aruba Red! Perfect place to have dinner during patio weather! I love the lump crab and avocado stack!

In general I'm not a fan of chains but this place does it right and I've had some fun times here. They make some really nice drinks and the food is decent. Some of the food items aren't all that great, with a few being grossly bland, while others approach greatness. The drinks generally outshine the food and are among the prettiest and most colorful concoctions I've ever seen while often being a bit too weak on the booze for my palette. This isn't a place I would hang out all the time but it certainly can be fun on occasion for a little imaginary tropical flavor.

I used to come here all the time when a former employer had a store in Cordova and our main system was there so it made for a lot of weekend trips. Bahama Breeze was one of our favorite places when we were there, often spending over $100 on drinks before we were even seated for dinner. The drinks are fanastic and they had quite a selection. The food was ok...never felt anything really tickled my tastebuds but we still came back here. It must have been the drinks.

Dont do this...while in Memphis.! Pass up this cool grass hut and do burger king or something..you'll like the food better at a fraction of the price. I wish I would have checked Yelp before I went. The criticisms are spot on. Seating was prompt, now I know why. Order was wrong & broken. Portions were skimpy, right down to the tiny dish of ketchup. Kids" sliders were adult burgers torn in half, literally pulled apart by Hand, people!. Salsa & Chips= lots of salsa but only7/8 oz of the most stale chips. Burger patties were old & dry. Fries were old & cold. Seafood chowder was Campbell's quality, and was a cup-portion in a large bowl . Waitress was nice til I had the fries taken off the bill. She offered to correct nothing. Go somewhere else, anywhere else. You ll thank me. This place is for tourists passing through who think they re trying something different. I cant see how they could keep the doors open if they had to rely on repeat business. Mandatory $18.00 tip brought this bill for me, wife, and our kids (all child menu orders) to $120!! I left this place hungry and furious. I, too, wish for a mountain of bees fall on this place. Can you tell I'm not staff posting a fake gratuity?

  • Russ A.

I liked this place. Server was inexperienced and really didn't understand the menu but he was trying to be helpful. The food was great. Big portions, nicely cooked and a fun menu. Little touches make all the difference - having my food served on nicely warmed plates made me feel like I was dining at somewhere far more extravagant. One suggestion - there is a really cool firepit and decked out area where you can sit and listen to the house band whilst you are waiting for your table. Why not have one of the wait staff assigned to taking drinks orders from these people. I would have happily drunk a couple of beers whilst I was waiting. Multiply this by the five or so couples that were waiting at any one time and I am sure it would be worth the effort.

The same four of us met again, pretty much for the same reason. The four of us are now five since the last review. A lot of the same comments still apply. The food is OK, the beer menu is limited. I ordered chicken curry rice bowl and they brought me a shrimp curry rice bowl. They took it back to change it and the manager offered me a seafood chowder soup while I was waiting, everyone else was eating. I said OK and the soup arrived at the same time as the new rice bowl. I ate the rice bowl first and then tackled the soup. The soup contained chunks of seafood as if they were thawed out and nobody stirred the soup to break up the chunks. The Boy got the special which was supposed to include salmon and some other stuff. We pretty much all remarked that it was the dinkiest piece of salmon we had seen. The waitress agreed, but the manager said, that's what it was. The boy's first beer was not very cold, but at least the waitress took it away and put it in a chilled glass to make it better. Again, my pet peeve, while we are still chowing down the main course, and I'm way behind because of the late food and soup, the waitress asks if we want dessert. ARRRGH. We need to find a better chain restaurant in the area of we're going to keep meeting around there.

With my baby sister visiting last week, my Mom wanted to take us to dinner. Usually, that means one of two places: Houston's or Bahama Breeze (her other favorites are take-out specialists Adline's Hot Wings Express and Cozy Corner, a very underrated barbecue restaurant). This time, my mother was in a festive mood for something Caribbean. Obviously, that meant another trip to Bahama Breeze. When we got there, I was surprised at the number of people who were there on a Tuesday night. Despite that, we were seated immediately after arriving. Once we got to our tables, our server greeted and handed us menus that were very thick. For a Caribbean-themed restaurant, Bahama Breeze has an extensive menu that appeals to almost any taste. Given that this is a chain restaurant that aims for broad appeal, that didn't surprise me. However, me and my family decided to order Caribbean. I almost deviated when I saw that sliders were on the menu, but I eventually chose the West Indies Chicken Curry. After my recent experience with the "Curry Chicken" at City Market, I was curious about how Bahama Breeze's version compared to it. The entrée had many of the ingredients of the curry that I had a month earlier (including Basmati rice and hummus... errrr, chickpeas). However, unlike the City Market's Indian-styled version that was very spicy due to chili pepper seasoning, the West Indies Chicken Curry goes in another direction. Instead of being spicy, Bahama Breeze's dish focuses on sweetness that comes from its roasted pineapple chutney. It is dominant throughout the curry and overwhelms everything else. The curry definitely has West Indian flair that impressed me. However, I wouldn't advise anyone to get it if they never had curry before. Traditionally, it is a South Asian dish that's meant to be spicy with a lot of cumin and turmeric seasoning. Those spices are barely noticeable in Bahama Breeze's version of it, so a person would be in for a big surprise in getting the "real deal" after experiencing a taste of the islands. As it is, the West Indies Chicken Curry is really good (especially with naan flatbread) and will appeal to most, as long as they are aware of what they're getting. Both my Mom and sister seemingly enjoyed their dinners. Mom had the Bahamian Seafood Chowder with shellfish and vegetables. While I didn't bother my mother for her thoughts about it, her facial expression conveyed immense pleasure. Although didn't taste my Mom's chowder, I managed to get a sample of my sister's Jamaican Chicken Wings. Marinated with Jerk seasoning, the whole wings were tender and very spicy. Although I wouldn't drive across town to get them (even though my sister traveled from Dallas for it), the wings made a nice impression on me. I might consider ordering them whenever I revisit Bahama Breeze. In the end, it seemed that all of us were satisfied with our meals. SIDE NOTE: In keeping with my policy of not intruding on dining companions, I didn't take pictures of my family's dinner. In lieu of that, I've posted a photo of Bahama Breeze's Jamaican Chicken Wings from The Daily Fork. Speaking of that, I'm surprised that fellow blogger Kevin of Burn My Mouth hasn't blogged about Jerk-seasoned food. Although I don't think Bahama Breeze's wings will ignite his mouth (although it fired me up), I'm curious about his opinion on Jamaican/West Indian cuisine. To sum it up, my family and I had another great experience at Bahama Breeze. While it will never be my cup of tea, I don't mind going there if it makes my Mom happy. However, if I were to "settle down" and start my own family, a place like Bahama Breeze could serve well as nice alternative from the norm. With its great atmosphere and good service (although it's Wi-Fi connection is spotty), the restaurant is capable of mass appeal. It's definitely worth checking out. Loved this place when it first opened and befor i had kids but service and food quality dropped after a few years so I quit coming. Now my kids are much older I decided to come back and try it again. Much to my surprise the food quility was very high and the service was prompt and attentive. The atmosphere was very relaxed and my entire family found different dished that we all could enjoy. A lost jewel and now refound. One more thing... Hand made margaritas

This is a fun place, more about atmosphere than food. Not a place I would regularly go to. Your experience will vary greatly depending on the server you get. I have had fantastic servers, and servers who only visit once during a meal. Some would say that this is a place you go to for a fun atmosphere with fairly rapid food delivery than a place you go to for the food.

Yes, it is a chain, but they have some pretty decent coconut shrimp. Food of the gods? No, but it is good and I order it almost every time I find myself dining here. I've had their fish tacos as well, but again they don't hold a candle to the coconut shrimp. This particular location is clean, and the staff is always friendly and the prices are on the mark for what is being served. I hear wondrous things about the drinks here- and my what I wouldn't give for a fruity beverage right about now. I'll have to return after this baby is born and have a fruity, frothy, blender drink melt down at the bar. Perhaps you'll see me there.

The food was great, our waitress was a little slow but I'm assuming she was new since she wasn't able to answer a question of mine but the manager was great. We were unable to use a coupon but instead of just telling us no she gave us a gift card to use to pay towards our meal and have us tickets to a Redbirds game! Don't know her name but she works at night with shoulder length hair

It's a little cold inside, but the atmosphere is nice. The servers were very nice and accommodating. I ordered the chicken curry and the salmon. The curry chicken had great flavor, but it was a little under seasoned. The salmon was overcooked and dry. The portion size was alright, but the taste didn't match the price.

Food was good. Very busy on the weekend. Make a reservation. Try the "Zombie" drink...amazing! I had the "Key West Fish Tacos" and they were pretty good. Cool restaurant, great ambiance. Wouldn't make it my every Friday restaurant, but a good experience overall.

I don't get the hype. This place really isn't that good. The food is typically bland or too salty. The service is good. Ambiance feels like I'm at a rip off Caribbean resort. I've been here more than once, and still can't find any reason to like this place. The pasta, the seafood, and the wait just didn't feel like it was worth it. No thank you, Bahama Breeze.

    (1)
  • Rebecca S.

We had to wait an hour, but I'm so glad we did. We started with coconut shrimp, shared seafood chowder, and shared calypso shrimp linguine. We also had cocktails: tropical thunder and a caipirosca. Everything was DELICIOUS. I can't wait to go back. Seriously. I want to go right now.

I mostly wanted to say that I was searching for a suggestion card so I could say to burn the place down and build an Applebee's. I realize I ordered a burger at a caribbean place, but their menu was bootsie. And I thought the burger would have some spice or something. The burger had 0 flavor, and thank god the cheese/bacon was good or I'd have gone completely without eating. I was also worried the neckbeard waiter was going to shed into my diet coke. I'd rather eat at Arby's. And I'd rather eat fire than eat at Arby's. I wish i had 4 hands, so i could give that place 4 thumbs down. I also wish a mountain full of bees had fallen on that place after i left.

This is a great restaurant if you want to get your food and DRINK on with friends. Emphasis on the drinks as they are delicious! The restaurant intends to take you to a carefree place in a tropical paradise. Think Miami or some bar on the beach. And, for a quick minute, I'll admit that I forget that I'm in the country when I'm there. Try the sangria or the strawberry Mojitos. The coconut shrimp is great -- the menu boasts a lot of seafood cooked in a rather tropical fashion.

    (4)
  • Miss B.

The food is alright, I don't feel it is seasoned very well and the cost of the food is more expensive than I would like for "meh" dining. I probably would go back again if it was cheaper however, since the food is only ok and it is more expensive than I would like - I will not be going back.

First let me just say I hate when people give places bad reviews for stupid reasons. I love this restaurant, the coconut shrimp is amazing, and so is the chocolate island. The staff is friendly, and I've never had a problem there.

Wait staff is very friendly, and wife loved the lobster/shrimp quesadilla. I had the Cuban sandwich. House salad also. Both were awesome.

Food is terrific but service is awful. Jacob, server, was rude and disconnected. He appeared slovenly and was MIA for the majority of our visit. Our favorite was when Jacob would pretend to not see the attempt to get his attention and then would find a coworker to gab and laugh with at the drink station to the side. When we were leaving I asked to speak with the manager and was surprised when the individual seemed to care as little about our complaint as the server showed cared in doing his job. Again, food is terrific but if the rude actions and indifferent atmosphere bring your mood down... go somewhere else.

  • Greg W.

No aruba red beer, its supposed to be their house beer. Kinda slow service. Poor attempt at island atmosphere. Favors weren't bad, presentation and execution of the dishes was poor. Veggie and fruit prep was terrible, everything looked like it was cut 4 days ago. We had the fish tacos and the baked goat cheese appetizer.

My husband and I love this restaurant, especially considering it's a chain. The service is fast and almost uniformly excellent -- many non-chain restaurants would do well to take some notice, especially on the patio. I often dislike eating on patios because the service tends to suffer. Not so here, the service is great indoors or outdoors. All of the great service wouldn't matter if the food was terrible. Well, it's great. Sure, there's nothing too authentic or groundbreaking, but what there is is delicious. We tend to start with the Firecracker Shrimp appetizer -- fried shrimp tossed in a spicy red pepper sauce. For those uncertain about heat, it's not too hot...and they'll put it on the side if you ask, letting you determine your heat level. For my meal, I very often order the Fire Roasted Jerk Shrimp from the appetizer side of the menu, along with a side of their tomato salad. What can I say, I love shrimp! The Jerk Shrimp is very different from the Firecracker -- it's not breaded or fried, rather it's roasted in a spicy thyme/garlic sauce. It comes with a huge loaf of bread that I almost never eat, except for a bit at the end to soak up the sauce. The tomato salad is simply chunked tomatoes tossed with basil, salt, pepper, balsamic vinegar and some olive oil. It's a great complement to the spicy shrimp. My husband has ordered everything from the Habanero wings to the tilapia platter to tacos, and he raves about all of it. The side salads, too, are excellent and very fresh. The wine and beer is is adequate, and the specialty cocktails are fun. We've never tried dessert, but that's because we're too full by the time we're finished with everything else. Go here, it's great! Tips: -- This place gets crowded. Reeeaaallllly crowded, especially in the spring/summer when the weather is nice. Don't let that deter you from going, but if you have small children (or temperamental adults) who get fidgety and impatient, you may want to keep that in mind and go at an off-peak meal time. -- There is very often live music on the patio. It can be fun if you're out with a group, but if you're having dinner with an old friend (or on a date) and want to hear each other, you probably should sit inside. -- There are some chicken and steak dishes for those that don't enjoy seafood, but the menu is primarily of the sea. My dad hates seafood and loves this place, so it can work out, though. -- Vegetarians: there is a portobello/veggie wrap on the menu that's divine. There is also an amazing goat cheese appetizer and some cuban bread. The Breeze side salad is veggie, but as I understand it, the black bean soup has ham in it. I've had it confirmed by a few servers, so avoid that.

The food is consistently good and reasonably priced. You especially get a lot of bang for your buck with the appetizers. Seafood dishes are great here. One of the best chain restaurants around. I miss this place!

Bahama Breeze has been one of my faves since it opened. Yes it's a chain and the wait can be seriously long but the service is good, the food is really quite tasty and the drinks are among my favorites in Cordova. The desserts are also great!

Enjoyable theme based restaurant/bar. Do not expect authentic food but there are plenty of tasty dishes on the menu. The salad's have an origional twist, I thuroughly enjoyed a tomato based one. I go here for a good time not a great meal.

I usually eat here when I'm in Memphis for business. Nice atmosphere, felt comfortable whether eating alone or with a group. Carribean-themed food is served quickly and always good. I love their "Simply Grilled" fresh fish -- the lemon-garlic-herb butter glaze is very good!

well my family and i really enjoyed this place. disappointed that we didn't get to sit outside on the patio where the Jamaican live band was playing. maybe next time. my husband ordered the guava glazed ribs and fries and he loved it. said it was delicious and would love to come back for it. i ordered the shrimp and lobster pasta. i hated how expensive it was but when i got it i felt much better because it's a TON of food. they really load up on the lobsters and shrimp. they're not stingy that's for sure. it was $18+ but that plate fed myself and 3 of my younger kids. totally worth the money. can't wait to try the jamaican shrimp and cocunut shrimp next time. also great atmosphere. wait time wasn't too bad. 20-30 minutes. the beverages looked delicious and so pretty. i was drooling over them everytime someone ordered one. i'm currently pregnant so i can't drink any alcohol but i can't wait to come here w/ my girlfriends for a few drinks once i'm done w/ this pregnancy. waiters were great too. when our waiter disappeared another waiter came over to make sure we had everything we needed. great place to bring family and friends.

This is a franchise restaurant, so don't expect some quiet or trendy urban restaurant. Its decor is like any other franchise restaurant, over the top, gaudy, but fitting for the type of restaurant this is. This is not the place to go if you are wanting a quiet dinner, its loud, and does a fair amount of its business in liquor. That being said, they have some rather tasty menu choices. As an appetizer I would recommend the dip made with the goat cheese. Its served with toasted bread and served in roasted red bell peppers. The Chicken Santiago is an excellent dish on the more affordable side of the menu, and is served with an excellent sauce and comes with fried yucca which is very good. For desert the cheesecake is excellent. If you are looking for an intimate dinner look elsewhere, but for a fun night out with friends this is an excellent destination. Its generally very crowded, so expect a wait.

I love this place. Live music on Saturday and Sunday evenings, low lights and good drinks. You've got to try the Bahamarita it's absolute goodness in a Martini glass! The beef empanadas, habanero wings and tostones are great appetizers. I LOVE the Grilled Chicken and Cilantro-Crema it is the bomb.com ! Customer service is always great whether I'm in Orlando, FL or Memphis, TN. Also they have a great happy hour Monday-Friday and a reverse happy hour Sunday-Thursday.

We called ahead at 5:30 for a table at 6:30 since we had a party of 8. We arrived at 6:30 and we were told it would be about 30 to 45 minutes, which was fine because it was packed. By the time we reached an hour and a half wait we started asking the hostess team when we would get a table. We were told that they did not have a table and that we had to wait until other parties (who arrived after we did) left. We asked why they were seated ahead of us and were never given an answer, but we were commited. Hell we waited an hour and a half already. We waited another 30 minutes and asked again if we were going to get a table. It was 8:30 at that point and we were frustrated especially since we called an hour ahead of time. They finally got us a table. Dayna was our server and heard our complaints about the time we waited and sent the manager to our table who comped dessert for us. Dayna was awesome. Very attentive and responsive. We recieved our food within 10 minutes of sitting down. It was ok. The desserts were pretty good. Had it not been for the run around with our table I would have thrown in another star.

I've always enjoyed the Jerk Chicken Pasta. As usual it satisfied my craving. The drinks were as expected, delicious and fresh. It has become typical in my experiences that most places in and around Memphis can provide a quality product whether it be food or drink. However, service seems to be the most challenging aspect. Either it's asking me if I want my change back or talking incessantly. Service is best when it's handled professionally and with a pleasant smile. Not a fake smirk.

This place is a chain restaurant reimagining or loose interpretation of Caribbean food. Mom and I went for appetizers and drinks. If you look at the menu, a couple of the apps are also served as main entrées. The coconut shrimp has nice sized shrimp and the sauce is good. Presentation bonus for a thinly sliced pineapple. The conch fritters were tasty and varied with their fillings, as if eating crab cakes. That's the end of the good. The pulled pork and plantains was cold, because the sauce topping the dish must've been straight from the refrigerator, thus messing up a decent dish. What really killed it is the tostones. The menu says "straight from San Juan", but I was born and raised there: you don't drown green plantains (tostones) in cheese and uninspired toppings and try to pass it off as from Puerto Rico. I can see why people like this place, but if true connoisseurs of Authentic cuisine avoid chain restaurants, I can avoid this poor imitation of tropical cooking. The bar and drinks were good, but Aloha to Bahama Breeze.

Don't come here. Worst experience ever. Hostess told us we couldn't be sat until 4-5 ppl from the party were there. Never heard that at a restaurant. Hostess just looked at us after that. We had to ask her if we might sit at the bar and have a drink as an alternative. Sat at bar for 10 minutes where 4 manager/employees were laughing and talking. None of them asked if we needed the bartender or wanted a drink. When I finally asked, the bartender arrived shortly after. Bartender Doe was nice and did great. Food runner Lindsey was nasty and rude and treated us like we were annoying her and asked us who our server was bc she was tired of fetching plates and silverware for the food she dropped.

5 star for Happy Hour, Monday-Thursday from 4-6 PM. 1/2 off appetizers and $4 drinks. Such an array of appetizers you can really just feast off of them without ordering from the menu. But, if your going to order from the menu, the Fisk tacos, jerk chicken pasta and the paella are some of my favorites. Outside of happy hour it's quite pricey shoo it's only about a 3-4 star cause everything taste better when it's cheaper. During spring & summer it's really nice to eat in patio and enjoy the live Caribbean music being played.

Great food and great service. I'll be back on my next visit to Memphis! Sit in Ashley's area as she is a egreat waitress and good knowledge of the food they serve! Enjoy!

Food was good but ruined by the bartender continuously talking about his hemorrhoid surgery. I went to happy hour 2 times in 7 days. Both times when a regular asked the bartender how he was doing, he felt the need to explain his whole experience. FYI, his blood count got low because of his bleeding hemorrhoid & he lost weight. First of all, Jason, when a regular asks about you, they really don't care about all the details. Just say you are doing better & thanks for asking. All he did was walk around talking to the regulars while the female bartender made all the drinks. He made my experience a 1 star. The lobster & shrimp quesadilla was good but not good enough to sit through that a 3rd time.

Spring has started, fresh sunny Friday with cool breeze, it is definitely a perfect evening to visit Bahama breeze with friends. I absolutely loved the ambiance. it was so colorful, musical and full of life. We reached there around 6.30pm and had a wait of 30 mins. Their Mojitos are absolutely freshening with fresh sugarcane juice, However, my friends mentioned that during Fridays they add more ice and less alcohol in mojitos. In my opinion, they were right though. It was freshening because of cold sugarcane juice but had hardly any alcohol in it. The food is really great with great variety of sea food. The salmon preparation form chef menu is worth trying once. They also did a great job in preparing customized vegetarian pasta as per one of my friends suggestion. He was really impressed with his veggie pasta. Overall, it is really a great place to visit with your friends, family or colleagues. I would visit this place again :)

Horrible! Horrible experience today during happy hour at the bar. I am a regular (when I am in town), so today was the worst experience ever! Kxxxn, bar tender, was extremely confrontational with 2 other guest and I simply because he, apparently, felt that his job was to smooze with his friends and selectively serve any other guests and to do so would be infringing on his time (at least that's how he reacted, repeatedly, to our requests to order food and additional drinks.) When the 3rd AA lady arrived, she, too was ignored as Kxxxn continued (facing our direction) standing around laughing and talking with this select few guests, all of whom flanked us on the left and the right, but he skipped around/over us and, apparently didn't want to serve us, eventhough we were told by the barteder at the opposite end of the bar near the kitchen that Kxxxn was suppose to be handling that end of the bar. Finally, this lady sitting to the right of me commented softly, "It would be nice to have someone take my order" after sitting there several minutes watching Kxxxx laugh and talk with guests all around us. I replied, good luck! Finally we all motioned Kxxxn that she would like a drink. His response was, "I can't see all these people walk up to the bar if they don't say anything how am I suppose to know you want to order something!" It continued to go down hill from there to the point that I ultimately had to ask to speak with a Manager as his aggression towards us got so out of character for Bahama Breeze at this location, that I couldn't let this slide. What ever happened to, "May I help You?" Or, would you like something to drink?" Does this no longer apply at Bahama Breeze...go old fashioned friendly customer service? I was unusually ignored, given that I am a regular, but the bartender who has provided me outstanding service over the years resigned a few weeks ago. The only 2 other AA guest at this end of the bar, and I, this evening were left with an awful experience at Bahama Breeze today. He seemed disinterested in serving us and ultimately, the most we got from him was bad attitude, confrontational bantering back and forth with us in mini arguments, unnecessary aggression (I challenged the Manager to visit the video surveillance tape to watch his body language when interacting with us versus with other guests to the left and the right of us) no empathy to the tune of using a negative tone about his employer running out of mint leaves and Bass Ale beer at the peak of happy hour (around 5:45 pm) and telling us that it was not his problem and then taking the whole matter out of context as he became loud and confrontational with us over the next several minutes until we all left Bahama Breeze vowing to never returned and stating how excited we were that Cheesecake Factory was opening up a location across the street where we expect to get much better service.

Terrible customer service. We made a reservation and have been waiting for over an hour to be seated. Have spoken to manager, he could not care less. We are teachers and will never visit this establishment again.

I really loved the atmosphere and the food here. The specialty margaritas were incredible! The portion sizes were odd, but my pasta was filling. We ordered entrees to go for my family who couldn't make it to the meal, and they had these all wrapped up for us without a problem. There was a pretty significant wait when we went, but the beachy feel and interesting decor was entertaining enough for us to pass the time. Lastly, I loved how my server drew a beach scene on my to-go box! It's the little things.

My husband and I go here a couple of times a year primarily for their onion rings which are amazing. Hot fresh and crispy coconut battered served with great dipping sauce. On our last visit we had room for dessert - so glad we did as it was the best key lime pie we have had anywhere - well it does tie for first place with J Alexander's key lime pie. Delicious! The menu prices have gone up over the years and I do think slightly over prices for the type of food served. Service is always friendly and sitting outside is a must !

I really like this place. I have now gone three times and aside from portion sizes, I have no complaints. And it really depends on what you get. Tacos or rice bowl...both seasoned to perfection, very flavorful dishes, but not filling. Sandwiches & burgers, however, will leave you satisfied. The service is always wonderful. Multiple people on the staff (including chefs) come by to make sure everything is great. Aside from wanting to ask for a second serving, it is always great. Chicken tortilla soup: Best ever. I'm a lime fanatic. The broth has a lime kick to it. The soup is very flavorful. Tender chicken. And chunks of avocado. Mmm. Black Bean BBQ Burger: Very filling. Very well seasoned. I asked for a side of BBQ sauce because I'm a sauce fanatic and I found that really added to it. They're generous with the guacamole they give you.

My wife and I stopped in here for lunch one day while we were shopping at the Galleria and Babies R Us. It was okay and there was nothing to really rave about as this is a chain restaurant. The cocktail list was pretty extensive and the people around us ordered a beverage served in a pineapple. Since my wife and I were charged with overseeing a 3 month old, we decided to not get smashed at Bahama Breeze, but if the situation was different, those fruity drinks (with an extra shot of 151) seemed to be very good...the guests seated next to us seemed like they wanted to dance on the tables. The outdoor patio with fire pit is very nice and definitely gives the ambiance that one is dining in the Caribbean. I think my wife and I will try this place again the next time we are up there and have a craving for coconut shrimp (although, when we had them during this visit, they were a bit overcooked and rubbery).

Went there for lunch last week with some coworkers. It was my first time going. As we entered we were promptly greeted. There was a 10-15 minute wait but it wasnt terrible. We were seated and kindly waited on by our waitress. After we looked thru there huge menu, we all placed our orders. I ordered the Wood Grilled chicken breast and it was yummy. Our food was delivered promptly and tasted great. I will definitely be back to try other stuff on the menu as well as to try their drinks.

Wow! If you are lucky enough to have one of these near you - GO! If it's anything like the one we're just finishing up with in the Memphis area, it will be a meal to remember. The coconut shrimp is standard fare, but was very well prepared. My Lump Crab Stack was nothing short of amazing - with fresh crab and shrimp, avocado and mango and just the right level of spice in the sauce ringing the plate. My beef empanadas were also quite good and the service from Lamont was friendly and attentive. I wish I had one within driving distance - Bahamas Breeze, are you listening? Build in New York!

I came here with my mother for lunch one day and then again with my family for my birthday. I haven't been here since my senior prom (mostly because I couldn't remember the name of the place). Once I walked in and looked at the sitting area I remembered that this indeed had been the place. I want to go ahead and say that this place has a comfy sitting area and I would know as prom night had quite the wait so we sat for a bit. It was still fun to be there. The place itself is a ton of fun. I love the atmosphere and decor- the place just screams FUN! If it had been cooler I would've asked to eat on the patio! Ok, onto the food. Head's up, it costs $3.50 to add on a side salad, which seems super expensive to me. The Conch Fritters were amazing. The sauce for them was ok but they themselves were fantastic and I loved them. I could tell the Bahamian Seafood Chowder was good but I didn't enjoy it much because it's just not my thing. The Coconut Shrimp was by far the best thing of the meal. The coconut and shrimp balanced perfectly together. They also tasted just fine without the sauce though the sauce wasn't bad either. I also note that it tasted far healthier (which is a GRAND statement to make about any fried food IMHO) than the last place I had eaten coconut shrimp at. IDK what they did differently but I could definitely taste the difference and loved it. The Key West Fish Tacos were terrible! We have since been told that we should've taken up the waiter's offer to see the manager (which we didn't because of perceived time constraints) because those are usually fantastic. I don't know if we will try them ever again or not but I will nibble one if anyone I know ever decides to try them. When I returned with my family we got the Coconut Shrimp appetizer. It was great. the only difference between it and the main course was it came with a pineapple slice. My only complaint about this place is that the menu is a tad complex and thus confusing. I wish it was a bit simpler. My husband ordered the carnita bowl and they brought him the tacos by mistake. We didn't like them because the tortillas were chewy and hard to rip off (what kind of taco isn't easy to bite?) so he asked for them to exchange it. They happily did, but I didn't like the bowl either (he did though so that's what counts). I got the Grilled Chicken with Cilantro which was fantabulous!! The chicken had a honey glaze and tasted so good by itself. I didn't really like the corn or the cilantory sauce but that's ok because the chicken tasted good enough that those things didn't matter. Loved: - Coconut Shrimp - Conch Fritters - House Salad with Island vinaigrette - Grilled Chicken with Cilantro Liked: - Lobster and Shrimp Quesadillas Didn't like: - Key West Fish Tacos (have been told was an off day and need to try them again) - Bahamian Seafood Chowder - Carnitas Tacos - Canita Bowl (hubby thought ok) - balsamic vinaigrette

Holy cow! My husband and I are always looking for fun, laid-back environments for our few date nights out sans kids. We received a coupon on in the mail to Bahama Breeze which is just down the road from us and decided to try it out. We were not at ALL disappointed with our evening! From start to finish we had a wonderful evening. Our waiter was fantastic and recommended the Buttermilk Fried Chicken and Shrimp & Grits. We ended up ordering them both and both meals were so amazing I could cry! Their grits are the BEST I've ever had and I can't wait to have them again. The chicken was amazing. So so amazing. We also had the Chicken Tortilla Soup and I cannot believe how tasty and fresh it tasted. Their Jamaican coffee was also out of this world. Can't wait to go back! Thanks for a great evening out.

I have eaten here six or seven times over the last few years. Service has always been good, and the place has always been clean and inviting. The seafood has been about average. Nothing bad but nothing outstanding that I simply must have again. Though I don't drink alcohol hardly at all, people who have come here with me have enjoyed the drinks.

I've been to Bahama Breeze at least 5 times over the course of a few years and I have finally gotten around to posting a review for them. I love caribbean food and this place is a caribbean food lover's paradise. Their plantains, jerk/caribbean chicken and tropical drinks are very refreshing. I typically order the jerk chicken pasta and it is one of the best items on the entree menu. The last time I visited, I tried the lobster and shrimp pasta. It was very good as well. I highly recommend Bahama Breeze if you like caribbean food.

This place is good. It's a chain, yes, but the food is different compared to most other chain restaurants. It's great at providing a nice, relaxing vibe. Be sure to try something that comes with plantain chips. They're really good and totally different from anything other restaurants serve. Their burgers are great. The lobster and shrimp linguine is awesome. The buttermilk chicken is delicious and the lemon butter sauce sounds a bit weird at first but it totally works. Yummy. The jerk shrimp is amazing, too. Everything I've ever tried here is really good. The service is great, too. The menu can be a bit confusing as has been said already, and the staff is more than happy to help you figure out what it is you're wanting to order, answer any questions, etc.

Not to bad and kind of casual. A nice laid back clean atmosphere that's good for a meal and drinks with old friends and new. The food is pretty good and almost worth what you pay for it. It's hit or miss though as to flavor. My last visit was some amazing seafood with rich flavored, but this time I tied sometime new and was disappointed. While the ingredients where fresh, the seasoning was bland. Their drinks are amazing and the lemonade is worth coming for alone. They have some creative dishes that you don't find at your local everywhere USA chain restaurant which makes them a nice change.

Love their black bean soup! Don't get the bowl unless you make it your meal because it is very filling. I had the mahi-mahi fish tacos and they were great! I recently spent time in Nassau and can't say much on the menu reminds me of the Bahamas, except for the conch fritters. Conch seems to be the primary source of protein in the Bahamas and the menus were 70% conch items. It was like Forrest Gump and Bubba discussing different ways to cook shrimp! Good restaurant, good food, drinks were good. We will be back.

We went there at the recommendation of some coworkers. We arrived just after they opened and were promptly seated. It went down hill from there. Our server must have been new as she was confused about the menu. She virtually disappeared after the order. Ok, how was the food? In a word, terrible. We won't be back.

Bar tender was horrible, he couldn't make a mojito! All 3 drinks tasted water down and had to be taken back. Shrimp tacos were nasty with a sweet cheap sauce. The service was horrible even though the waitress was nice. Will never come back

We had s very good server Ed although he was very busy. But the place really needs to beef up their A/C unit to keep up with Memphis summer heat. HOT inside. I got a quesadilla app, it was good enough but sour cream topper tasted like that cheap fake sour cream substitute. Yuck. Also water tastes foul, probably need to clean or replace water dispensing line due to mold build up.

The outside patio is great to sit on with the music going on in the background. Such a fun and classy atmosphere. The food is delicious from the appetizers to the chicken wings to the market fish. Excellent. The specialty drinks are fun and mouth watering as we'll!

We came in for a late lunch / happy hour. Danise waited on us and she was a delight. We had onion rings and cheese burger sliders - both were good. The onion rings were crispy and hot. The sliders were tasty with caramelized onions. Danise added tomatoes to the sliders which took them up a notch. My wife loves the atmosphere and music - makes her think she is on vacation.

When you go, ask to sit outside. Live music and great food!! Everything was cooked perfectly and extremely flavorful. They give you enough food to last for 2-3 meals. Would def go back every chance that I get. So far it's been one of the best places to eat in memphis.

I ordered the seafood paella, which was delicious as usual, but had no fish. There were fish bones in it instead. Our service lacked in every way, really poor! Live music was great, as was the outside temp!

This is my mom's and a good friend's favorite restaurant and I have been with each of them and so many times I can't even count and have had good experiences in general, but this visit was the worst by far and it continued on with issues from entering the door till trying to settle the bill. The restaurant wasn't busy since it was a Thursday at noon, but we will still had to wait a few minutes to sit down because apparently they didn't have enough staff scheduled to handle even another table of 2 right away. My mom's friend ordered a pain killer and she found a torn off bud light label floating in the bottom of her drink. Thankfully, she had only drank a little bit from her drink when she found it. My mom ordered the fish tacos and my mom's friend and I ordered the coconut shrimp combo (with mine coming with a bowl of bahamian chowder and hers with a salad). I also got a side of the cinnamon mashed sweet potatoes with I usually get as a side. When our food came, my mom's was correct but they brought both me and my mom's friend coconut shrimp tacos. I sent mine back because I wouldn't eat them, but my mom's friend tried them and she liked them. They left me my soup, but with no spoon to eat it with. Thankfully it didn't take too long for me to get my correct food. Then we ordered the pineapple upside down cake for dessert. You should try it some time, my mom ordered it once and it is really good since the cake is more similar to a chocolate lava cake. It is something I probably wouldn't have tried if she didn't want it. Overall (minus the one drink) the food was really good and it has been consistent ever time I have eaten there. Finally we were done and got the checks and we had to get ours corrected because they charged us for both the mistake (coconut shrimp tacos) which we sent back and my actual correct entree. Then we gave them our coupon and that was easy to get taken care of. But we had to give the server the credit card twice in order to get it charged. It took us over two hours to eat lunch and we would have preferred it to take half as long. I am not sure what is going on with their management and staff, but this is the first time we have ever had any real issues here, especially one after another after another. I am glad the food was still good, or I wouldn't want to go back again.

I received a gift card for Bahama Breeze for my birthday. I decided to sit outside and hear the love music. The singer was very good. His voice was soothing. The atmosphere was very nice. I ordered the buttermilk chicken and a side Caesar salad. The caesar dressing has a slight sweet taste to it but I enjoyed it. The chicken was lightly fried and seasoned very well. There were two pieces on top of mashed potatoes, creamed spinach, and melted cheese. There was a light cream sauce and corn salsa and black beans. It was very good. The bartender suggested it because I never would have ordered it otherwise. The food was good and so was the atmosphere. It was a great experience!

I'm not a fan of restaurant chains, I prefer locally owned Jawns but my wife wanted to give it a try. So we did and let me just tell you one thing- The Lemonade, made with pure cane sugar, was insane. If I could have took a barrel of it home?! It would be in my kitchen right now.

I remember when Wolfchase was luxury shopping, and when Bahama Breeze opened, I was in my early twenties, and chocolate-swirled or sugary rum-and-pineapple drinks were the THING. The food was better then, more Bahamian or "islandy" in flavor. Since that time, I have been to Bahama Breeze twice, and these are my recent experiences. We get our blinking coaster, a sure sign of a wait and chain-restaurant food. The first visit is with the in-laws (whom I love so they will not color my review) after church on a Sunday around 12:30. We crammed 8 of us into a long booth near a sunny window. I can't remember what I ordered, just that I was underwhelmed by the food. They are good at keeping water glasses and drinks refilled, however, and the manager stopped by to check on our experience. Recently (winter 2014) I dined with them again, this time at night. There were 5 of us, and we called ahead, and avoided the blinky coaster. Our server was frazzled and a bit quiet, but tried hard and fixed anything that didn't come out right. The bartender received my order for vodka and soda, and used tonic water instead. "No, if I wanted tonic, I'd have asked for tonic. I want bubbly watered-down vodka with lime." She fixed the drink JUST in time for her manager to pop by, and I complimented her working hard to fix the bartender's error. We had conch fritters, which were just like we had in the Florida Keys, only with a corn-syrupy dipping sauce (a bit condescending for grown-up food, but this is a chain). My black bean soup was good, not spectacular, but they painted a sour-cream candy cane and holly leaves on top with a piping bag, which was a thoughtful touch. First experience: 5 stars Second experience: 2 stars Third experience: 3.5 stars Remember to call ahead!

I ordered the Bahama Mama, Goombay Smash, Crab Tower, and coconut shrimp; all were excellent. I haven't been to this place in a while, but I will definitely be back soon. Great food, great drinks, and great patio atmosphere. Overall, a great experience.

It was pretty good. The atmosphere is a bit much for me, but I suppose it's fun. The prices are pretty high for what you get. I had the black bean burger. It was good. I probably would've enjoyed my experience much more if it had been happy hour, it looks like the drink specials are pretty good. The normal price for drinks was much too high for me to indulge. I would go again, but only if I'm with someone who wants to.

I visited Bahama Breeze on the first mid-80s day of the year - what better time to dine on the patio and have something tropical and cool to drink, right? Well, turns out a lot of other people had the same idea. My friend and I got there around 6:00 on a Sunday and it was already an hour or more wait for the patio. It was about a half hour to sit inside, so that's what we did. It's what you'd expect inside - comfortable tropical decor, open and airy. We were seated just about at the half hour we'd been told. All the staff, from the hostess to the bartender to our server, were friendly and helpful. We ordered drinks and then food, and everything came to us quickly and was correct. My friend got a shrimp pasta that she said she often gets and she really enjoyed it. I ordered Jamaican jerk chicken, and I wasn't terribly pleased. First, the menu lists a "lighter portion" but they actually don't offer it for that dish. The dish itself is basically two chicken quarters with rice and salsa, and the jerk seasoning is just on the outside. The jerk seasoning was pretty mild and the relatively small amount of it combined with chicken a little on the dry side made for a pretty bland meal. I had a pina colada that was rum heavy and not well mixed but acceptable. For me, the pedestrian food and drink was disappointing, so it's 3 stars. I like the overall vibe and our server was awesome, so I'll probably try it again sometime with some different food and drink.

Went this year for Mother's Day, everything was good until I saw a roach crawling on the wall. My husband pointed out to the waiter then killed it. The manager comped our meal . I loved this place but husband says we're never going back!!

Really enjoy the atmosphere as we enjoy the coast and vacation! The outdoor patio is wonderful, but when it's snowing outside BB had a lot to offer on ambience. Trying to be Gluten Free is tough for most restaurants. We tried the Skillet Simmered Jerk Shrimp - flavor profile is good; however, the shrimp was over cooked. The French bread Don had was good but should have been crustier. We both enjoyed the Spinach Artichoke Dip! Happy hour after 4 pm offers half price appetizers and $2 off wine by the glass. Other drink specials available as well.

Went last night, with a few co-workers. The waitress seemed very disinterested, but the menu selection was fabulous. My co-workers ordered the artichoke/spinach dip..delish, I ordered the ropa vieja tacos. .delish Shrimp and grits looked amazing, an so did the coconut shrimp.. I ordered the jerk chicken with black beans.. aside from the chicken was sized for an army and the black beans were sized for an infant, the food was delish. Definitely a repeat.. no different than my first experience in Raleigh, NC. The lower star rating was due to the waitress' lack of interest.

Mojo-Marinated Pulled Pork I wanted to try several things so I ordered snacks and small plates. The mojo-marinated pulled pork was my favorite dish. It was served over sweet plantains with their signature barbecue sauce. The beef empanadas appetizer were great and bigger than I expected so two of them were saved for the to go box for later. I also had the steamed edamame and corn cakes. The corn cakes were ok and I would definitely recommend the edamame. I found myself too full for dessert but no worries. We ordered the chocolate island to take back to our hotel room. Chocolate mousse is my weakness and this one was on a brownie with vanilla bean anglaise. The atmosphere was fun and Caribbean. They even had a musician performing tropical songs. The pineapple martini paired perfectly with the food and music so much that I had two. We had great service even though it was very crowded. I was very thankful because we were trying to get back to our hotel before the game started and we made it thanks to the fast service.

Excellent food with flavors of Cuba and Jamaica. Must try items we had include the Bahama Mama, the jerk chicken pasta and the chicken toastones. Take advantage of the "small plates" to try things you've never had! We did it with the street tacos and they were awesome. We are with out 6-year old and she had a blast. They have several non-alcoholic cocktails that they serve with umbrellas and fruit, so she felt special. Service was incredible. Nice, fast and just all around friendly. We plan to make another visit soon!
