The meatloaf here is the bomb! Had a group and we did appetizers (mini chimi's and cheezy spinach dip tortillas) and they were both generous and stimulating to the taste buds. Add some Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, which is not common in these parts, and you have the makings of a good meal. I ordered the meatloaf with a cup of tomato basil soup and the red mashed potatoes. The soup was extraordinarily rich and full of taste. The meatloaf paired well with the mash and the mushroom gravy. For those who don't care for mushrooms, a different gravy is available. We were too stuffed for dessert but the three scoop ice cream concoction in the front counter was tempting the ole taste buds. Atmosphere is above average, we got the "private dining" area, which is the big round table upstairs.

I loved the downtown setting of this place, and the ambiance inside. Our service was great too. But the 2 stars are given because the food just wasn't that great. My mom splurged on the crab cakes, to her disappointment. My dad had pot roast, his favorite, and shocked us all by leaving half of it on the plate. I had the grilled vegetable wrap (1 of only 2 vegetarian options), which was soggy and left my plate drenched in 'vegetable juice'. I will say, however, that the mashed potatoes were delish. But I'm not sure that's enough to bring us back here again.

It cracks me up how places like Los amigos have a better rating than Sullivan's. Sullivan's is obviously better. The Charleston Shrimp is great and there are good values for lunch. I think this is one of Maryvilles top choices.

In Maryville, TN trying out Sullivan's Downtown I had the Grilled Chicken and Goat Cheese Flatbread sandwich with a side order of Jalapeño Cheese Grits. It was ok, the chicken was room temperature but flavorful. The grits however was cold. I wasn't very impressed with the meal. Also my fault, I thought I was getting a flatbread pizza, not a sandwich. The service was atrocious, just simply bad management! I was in a group of 15 and they give a fresh new service with no lead service help. He tried his best, but you could clearly tell he was overwhelmed. It took us 52 minutes after we ordered to get our food. While during that time, one of our guess had to pull the manager to the side and say that our server needs help. He tried to step in an take orders, but it wasn't consistent. The price wasn't that, decent for what you find at a typical 3 star restaurant. The atmosphere is really nice. They have exposed brick walls. Also a very good bar, lounge area. Also, the place was very very clean. The location is great, it's in the heart of what you will call Downtown Maryville and its directly across a free parking lot. Overall, I probably wouldn't give this place another chance due to the fact that the management fail our server. He should had had plenty of back up, if not a 2-person server team. We had at least 3 other servers in our area, so it wasn't a lack of manpower. The food seems nice, but just the service isn't there. Service is a big thing for me!

We ate there last Friday night and I thought the restaurant was very lovely. The menu was exciting, the service was good and the four of us had a pleasant dining experience . Two of us order the Savannah the BLT and each bus had a different side item. The sandwich was described as homemade pimento cheese a fried green tomato and applewood bacon on whole wheat It tasted good but it was a big family so I brought the other half home On Saturday myself and a friend experienced and very unpleasant day with gastrointestinal distress. I ate my leftovers from the evening before later in the day and the problem got worse. I called the restaurant to tell them what has occurred and they did apologize. It doesn't seem like such a big deal until happens to you. That this had not occurred I would have given them a higher star rating. Sarah

Visited Sullivan's over the holidays and were very disappointed. My BFs steak came out rare although ordered Medium. We quietly and politely notified our server. Her response was to rudely snatch the plate from him and walk away. After it was "redone" she just shoved it back on the table without saying a word. When she returned 5 minutes later she asked "was that good enough for you this time?" With an attitude. To make matters worse it was well done and chewy. I asked to speak with a manager and when he came by he was just as rude. I reminded him that mistakes happen and attitude was everything. Did I mention his sucked as well? He didn't even offer to comp the meal. We travel extensively and now Sullivan's is the butt of our jokes ..... Remember that horrible restaurant in Maryville?.......

Great local restaurant. Friendly staff, and excellent food. My husbands shrimp and grits were delicious. Smooth and creamy with just the right amount of heat. And my catfish was perfectly cooked with light cornmeal breading and southern green beans just like Mom's. Very nice atmosphere too.

I couldn't recommend it. We arrived about 6 pm on a Saturday night. Half the restaurant was empty but we waited 20 minutes for a table. One out of three orders was wrong and when the food arrived two out of three were barely warm. The waitress was very nice and brought us new orders that were hot. Sirloin tips were tasty but very salty. Southern green beans were delicious but even the second try was hardly warm. Baked spinach was great...and hot.

I must say I will agree about Sullivan's being the whole hit-or-miss kind of thing, but their food is immaculate! Their service is good, and I must say, it is definitely a kid friendly place. I mean, sure there is the bar that they have which always looks like nobody goes to that little area. Other than that, they do such a great job!

Good restaurant, no issues here. The ambiance is very nice, the build out is good and the service friendly. Good place for after work drinks or dinner. Food is hit or miss. I had a great piece of salmon, my colleague had a steak that was too fatty. Still, all in all, certainly a solid choice.

We have eaten there a few times and the food is above average. The service was pleasant and attentive for most of our visits. Our last visit was on a Saturday night. 8 PM dinner, party of eight. I am not really sure (nor do I care) what happened, but we were informed after we placed our order that the kitchen was out of risotto and that there was only one filet left. That news was most unfortunate, as three people at our table ordered filets and one ordered the risotto. Not wanting to ruin a perfectly good evening, two people changed their orders and the other two decided to split the one, remaining filet with some added shrimp. To make a very long long, the kitchen botched the split order. Am I being nitpicky? Maybe. But, those extra two stars come with the restaurant's attention to the details. For example, when two people split an entree, the kitchen should split the food in the kitchen and it should be served on two plates. Don't expect the customer to do that at the table. And, if, for some reason, the split order does come to the table on a single plate, there should be an even number of shrimp for an even number of people. Don't force an uncomfortable conversation about who gets the odd shrimp. Details. While it may be the best place in Maryville, it falls a bit short of being a great restaurant. Will I go back? Probably. Should you go? Probably. Just manage your expectations.

Almost ten years or so since it was built downtown and as other restaurants come and go in Blount Co. Sullivan's continues to offer diverse menu for Maryville prices. Also has the best atmosphere in any casual dining in Blount Co. I had a very good Southwest Salad tonight.

Sullivan's is definitely my favorite restaurant in Maryville. I have to have the "fried green tomato" appetizer everytime Im there, and I usually go with the "randazzo pasta". I get the chicken blackened and the alfredo sauce is so, so, so good. I personally haven't had their steaks but I know that Sullivan's is well known for how good they are. (And you've got to try their "chicken almond soup"!!!) The atmosphere is always nice and the employees are incredibly friendly. The food always comes out nice and fast, too. (I created this Yelp account just to review Sullivans but ill have to start reviewing more restaurants now!)

My husband and I drive almost an hour at least twice a month just to eat here. I've never had anything that wasn't good, but the house salad and Shrimp Charleston are particularly fabulous.

I love the fact they encorporated a contemporary style with a southern infused menu. The decor is very modern and definitely ahead of its time in maryville tennessee! p.s. I grew up there so I can say that! The prices are very fair for what you get and all in all the food is very good. The deep fried corn on the cobb makes me wish I still lived in the south! If you want something different than your typical chain restaurant, then it is the right place to go. So if you're ever in maryville or get stuck in a lay over flying through knoxville, check it out!

We are visiting the area and came upon Sullivan's. I'm sure glad we did. It's located in the quiet, older part of Maryville. We arrived there around 8:00 pm on a Saturday night, hoping not to have to wait too long. We were lucky to get right in. I was shocked that they weren't busier, but there seemed to be a lot going on in the surrounding towns. Maybe that's why. Our server, Jamie, was efficient, informative and friendly. He explained the specials and had my husband at "prime rib". I had the Southwestern Salad which was very filling and delicious. We both ordered the loaded baked potato soup. It was good, but could have been better with some shredded cheese, bacon and chopped green onion on top. My husband was surprised a baked potato wasn't offered as an option as a side. They had quite a selection of sides to choose from, and settled for fries. His prime rib was excellent as was the dessert we shared - the Triple Chocolate Pound Cake. Great meal and everyone there was very friendly and seems to enjoy working there. Finally, the decor was very modern yet still felt cozy.

My friends and I frequently go here because we enjoy the Ambience. The restaurant has nice lighting with high ceilings and exposed brick walls. We like the Chicken Spinach Pizza, Chimi Rollers and Fried Green Tomatoes for Appetizers and Saturdays are 1/2 price. The signature salad is a good choice. I typically order a steak (Filet, Ribeye, Sirloin, etc), and they have all been of good quality; Prime Cut and cooked to order. Overall, the menu has a good variety from Meat Loaf to Salmon. The bar area is very nice with a large screen TV and a wide selection of drinks & wines. We consider this spot one of the best in Maryville --good for dates, families, large groups and out of town guests. Prices are reasonable for quality of food and selection, an excellent Value. I would give it 4.5 stars if I could, almost a Five (Five is Rare in East TN, but that's another story). I've also heard good things about the Catering service.
