I absolutely love this place. It's by far the best place to eat in Maryville, and honestly, it's better than anywhere I've been in Knoxville. There is an actual chef, so feel free to order off menu; they will come up with something amazing. Every time I have gone, I've requested an off- menu vegan entree and each time they have delivered wonderfully! They also have a great wine selection, but the red-headed bartender is an absolute gem at what he does, so I vote cocktail all the way at this place. I can give him an ingredient I'm interested in, and he'll whip up something amazing. Ingredients I've given him before: basil, ginger, lemon.... He used fresh ingredients each time and his own simple syrups. The drinks are just as delicious as the food.

My new favorite. The meal was simply fantastic. I ordered pork shoulder and not only could I cut it with my fork, it was perfectly seasoned. My wife loved her cobia. On top of that the service was great and the carrot cake was to die for. We will be back!

This is 100% one of my top 5 restaurants in the area. It's so unbelievably delicious. They do such a a great job. Wait staff is always attentive and sweet. The amouse bouche's that are presented are awesome. And, the menu changes semi often. Honestly, I wish they changed the menu a little more often, but no huge biggie. Everything they cook is perfect, and that's all that matters. One critique --- there is now a $20 corkage fee which a little like extortion. 20 bucks!!?? The little to no corkage fee was always a huge plus for me, but I'll try and adjust.............

A hidden gem in Maryville. Buried on a side street, it's unfortunately easy to miss. Started dinner with drinks - although neither the wife or I were feeling adventurous enough to try a "menu" cocktail, the standards were done well. The wine list was small, good, and affordable. Apps were local flavor and very tasty - fried green tomatoes with goat cheese, a "quail and pancake" and fried oysters. All were good enough to want to make dinner. Dinner for me was duck two ways, both of which were cooked well and were very tasty. The star was dessert - a go-to for my chocoholic better half: molten chocolate cake. Some of the best I've had. Verdict: well worth the drive. We'll be back.

Excellent food and professional service. First time we are there was for our anniversary. Upon arrival, I though I had made a bad choice to celebrate the occasion as other than tablecloths covering the tables, there is no atmosphere. Good is great, but I would like a better choice on potato other than their signature molded mashed topped with an overpowering smoked bacon.

Truly the best restaurant in the Knoxville area. It is located off Washington St. In Maryville. From the outside of the building you wouldn't realize the delicious five star food on the inside. The menu changes depending on the food which is in season. My husband and I ate here for our 10 year anniversary. We waited at the bar for our table to be ready, so I started the evening with the Maryville martini. The drink was sweet lemony martini with a kick from the ginger. Once seated the experience got even better. We were brought a bite of sourdough bread topped with a lentil hummus to open up our tastebuds. Then for our appetizer was a goat cheese tart, one of the most amazing tarts to start any meal. To cleanse our palate after the appetizer was a raspberry sorbet. I ordered the lamb two ways and my husband had pork tenderloin on a bed of polenta. The lamb chops were complete ecstasy, they melted in my mouth making me completely giddy. The second lamb was bbq ribs. My husband loved his also although it was a bit spicy for me. For desert we shared a piece of cheesecake and the molten chocolate cake. I ended up eating most of the chocolate cake by myself. Overall the experience was the best food experience I have ever had!! The atmosphere was upscale and the staff were southern polite.

Foothills Milling Company has been on our list for a couple of years now. The opportunity to go presented itself in the form of reservations with a couple of FMC veterans. We went on a Wednesday night, which incidentally, is half-price bottle of wine night. Started the evening off with some cocktails--there was a Manhattan with house-made apple bitters--delightful; a well-prepared Sazerac; and I had Matt mix me up one of the house specials--the"Winter Old-Fashioned," which was made with Makers Mark, muddled orange & cherry, and brown sugar-cinnamon syrup. Great drink, warmed me in multiple ways on a blustery cold night. Ordered the house-made sausage board, which included a pickled bologna, bockwurst, currywurst, and a smoked sausage, accompanied by plentiful toast points, a powerful house-made mustard, and some spicy house-made pickles. (Are you noticing a house-made pattern here? THANK YOU GOD.) Also ordered the goat cheese gnocchi with lamb ragu--fantastic dish. Tender dumplings that leave you with the delightful tang of goat cheese on the finish. We asked our waiter, Brad (this guy is a gem--ask for him when you make reservations; this is service of the highest order), if they would consider doing a tasting menu for our table of four, because hey--you don't know if you don't ask. He politely told us they've never done tasting menus, which prompted us all to make puppy dog eyes, and he said he'd pass along our suggestion. Super guy, we were able to share a few laughs, and he's just a consummate professional. The manager, Patrick, then surprised us with one of their newer appetizers--a flatbread topped w/cured salmon, mascarpone, the thinnest slices of red onion I have ever seen, and capers. A well-crafted appetizer, perfect size for sharing. We settled on ordering four different entrees, and agreed to share samples of each, a poor-man's tasting menu. We got the Lobster Tails w/cornmeal tempura, sourwood honey sriracha aioli, sweet Thai chili, sesame roasted mushrooms, jasmine rice; Duck Two Ways: Smoked duck leg and Moulard breast, port cherry demiglace, praline sweet potatoes, and braised red cabbage; Cobia and Shrimp Creole seared, shrimp and crab salad, sherry cream herb grits, and roasted asparagus; and Pork and Shrimp: Smoked Berkshire pork shoulder, sautéed shrimp Creole bbq, falls mill grit cake. Our dinner partner swapped out the grits cake for the fennel and roasted pepper potato cake. I'm not going to split hairs here, the entrées are well-described on the menu. Everything was solid--not a single miss on any of the plates. Every entrée was thoughtfully constructed with a great balance of salt-acid-sweet-fatty, and sometimes smoke. We did agree that the Pork and Shrimp was the best dish at the table. Read a more detailed review here: wp.me/p3OabS-fM The wine list is exceptional. We may or may not have shared bottles of Cloudline Pinot Noir, Layer Cake Primitivo (think European Zinfandel), and a delightful California blend, Besieged. I'm usually not a dessert person, but my tablemates outvoted me, and frankly, I'm glad they did. Got the Grand Marnier crème brulee, which came with a side of fruitcake. Which sounds wrong. But it was so, so right...and that custard just screamed Grand Marnier! Grand Marnier!, while the fruitcake was delightfully orange-y and texture-y. Yeah, now I'm making up words because there aren't any to adequately describe this dessert. Then there was the brownie sundae. I bogarted the house-made toffee (I'm a toffeeslut--my tablemates knew that going into this) and that brownie? Unlike any brownie I have ever had. It'll be unlike any brownie you've ever had, too. Less a brownie and more a crushing defeat of the laws of physics. It was chewy, chunky, tender, sturdy, and God only knows how they got that much chocolate in there. The ambiance is warm and welcoming, although if you aren't a regular, be prepared to be noticed as you walk in. It was a really nice, easy hang, and it seemed as though everyone in the place felt free to laugh and delight in their Dionysian escapades.

The best restaurant in East Tennessee, and an absolute must for a special food experience with your favorite people. The menu is artfully crafted and very filling; I've never had a meal that wasn't exceptional. Wine list is well paired, the old fashioneds are particularly delightful, and the dessert is entirely too good to pass (even though you will likely groan at the thought of MORE good food). Two thumbs very high up.

Quite possibly one of the greatest restaurants in East Tennessee. Foothills Milling Company seems to do everything right. They treat their customers like royalty, their servers are knowledgable, the ambiance is solid. But more importantly than all of that, their food is perfection. Tons of in-house cured meats that makes one hell of a plate when they're all combined(I highly recommend the charcuterie plate to start). We both had different salads, both of which were top notch. Entree was equally on point. Desert, a decadent fruity ice creamy delicious treat, and every bite of our meal was good enough to lick the plate... but it's fancy, so i fought the urge like the sophisticated gentleman that I am not. If I were to give it any sort of negative marks at all, it'd be that the decor is a little dated, but once the food starts flowing, you could be set in a barn and still be happy.

This was a fantastic meal, hidden in Maryville! We went for my birthday celebration on a Wednesday night. When we walked in, I found the decor to be a little quaint. To be honest, I thought it might be overrated. Was I wrong! My first clue that the food was delicious was the olive oil served with the bread. Definitely high quality and light. I got the scallops with creamed corn and pesto, while my boyfriend got the duck two ways and the truffle Mac n cheese. My scallops were cooked perfectly, and his duck breast was cooked medium rare - just delicious. One of the best meals I've had. We ended up getting buttermilk pie to wrap up our meal, but I think we got served cheesecake instead. Whatever - it was still good. The service was attentive and helpful, but a bit slow. All in all, a fantastic - and pricey - dining experience.

Great food! Grouper was delicious and they have a great bourbon list. Peach cobbler was outstanding!

I had high expectations for FM and was disappointed in some ways. The service was very good. Ice cream sorbet was a nice touch between courses as was the offering of the chef's experiment app. We had the oyster app which was tasty. Ordered the duck 2 ways and the venison. I thought both needed more flavor and the sides of greens, truffle mac n cheese, and cheese spatzle were okay. The creme brulee dessert and home made bread were tasty.

Sit at the bar if you can, but if nothing else have a cocktail -- the bartender is awesome! Very clean, excellent service, and an simple and delicious menu.

Menu selection was much tamer than I expected - nothing jumped off the menu as unique enough for a must try. Environment has the feel of an older upscale restaurant but you will see business, business casual, and casual attire mixed within. It's really hard to get a read on the environment - the plus was feeling more relaxed than must high end places. My wife and I order the Fried Green Tomatoes, steak, and salmon dishes. The tomatoes were a bit under cooked but the flavors were great. Steak and salmon were both cooked and seasoned to our liking. Overall everything was really good but nothing wowed and enticed us to have to return anytime soon. If you haven't been then you should definitely go and taste the great food.

It's pricey, but so worth it! Tonight was my second visit to Foothills Milling, and I can't decide which meal was better. I got salmon on my first visit, and then the venison chops tonight. Everything is delicious, from the appetizers to the potato bread served with butter. My wife got the lobster tonight but did say she preferred the salmon. Such a good restaurant...for a once-a-year type of visit.

Kicking off our honeymoon travels with a reservation with foothills milling. Sharon was perfectly pleasant and attentive. The food... Exceeded any expectation we may have had prior to dining here. We had heard some great things but had no idea we would be this impressed.

Best restaurant in Knoxville area. No fine dining establishment comes close to Foothills. From the appetizers to dessert everything is fantastic. Foothills serve traditional fine dining menu options (Duck, Lobster, crab, etc) but they make it their own. This makes foothills a unique experience. The service is excellent and I tried many of their entrees and you truly could not go wrong with any of the options. Great restaurant especially for occasions, they are great with accommodating to large parties.

You really won't believe you are in rural TN. Get your reservation early as they often sell-out and don't wait to order you'd dessert or they might be out. Everything is fresh and locally sourced. I have yet to be disappointed. Recent visit included venison and spatzle which seems to be a favorite side dish. Get anything that includes the Benton bacon. My only advice is arrive hungry.

We went here on the recommendations of several friends. What a pleasure to find a restaurant of this quality in our area. It place is on the main drag through Maryville (like going to the Smokeys) and is easy to miss. A little plain on the outside and the furnishings inside aren't too fancy but clean and well kept. We had a nice young man (Taylor) as our server. He was informative, made good suggestions, but wasn't pushy or hurrying to us. We started with cocktails - a Sazerac for me and a chocolate martini for my wife - tasty and decent portions. Our appetizer was a fried oyster with sprouts and a remoulade sauce. Well crafted, but a little small for two. It was nicely balanced with a buttery toasted focaccia base. My wife chose a scallop entree served over a base of fresh creamed corn and I had the duck two ways. Her scallops were quite good,b ut my duck was outstanding! Leg and thigh were smoked and the breast (nicely rare) was roasted. We didn't have room for desert, but the experience was very nice. I highly recommend it for special occasions (not inexpensive).

I have eaten at this place a number of times the owners are the most down to earth people that you could ever meet. The customer service is tops from the bar tender to the wait staff. Now that I have talked up the stuff that is semi important on to the food I love that the menu changes about every month. The items they offer are just amazing from the Bison steak to the salamon. The only hard thing is to get a reservation just call a week a head.

Great service excellent food. Had the duck and they let me sub out for their famous potato cake. It all melts in your mouth. We sat at the bar and even there the experience was great. Can't wait to come back #jolleytraveler

Superb. I was surprised to find a restaurant this good in a small town. Comparable to some of the better known restaurants in NYC and New Orleans.

Terrible Value for your money. FOOD AND WINE WAY OVERPRICED. Our service in no way matched the prices. I've been here 5 times. 3 times same average routine fake service. When I'm spending $200-300 on a meal of 2 to 4 persons. You would expect the Attitude of Service to be Top Notch, but it's not. Food quality very good, but only order the Filet. The other items are 200% markup (I.e. seafood). I probably won't go back. If their charging prices similar to Ruth Chris's, Fleming's, or Conner's, THEN DELIVER THE SAME SERVICE. Seen the other reviews, Apparently these people will pay anything and they could charge $69. And 400% markup; and I probably got the server on an "off night", won't be back anytime soon.

This place is amazing. Definitely a special occasion restaurant but worth every penny. The rack of venison is my favorite so far and I always save room for their yummy desserts. I wish the place was bigger because the reservation list is booked out pretty far. Its really nice and gives us an excuse to get dressed up.

This is by far the best restaurant in the Knoxville/Maryville area. My husband I have been here 5 to 6 times in the past two years and we love it. We've brought our out of town guests and it's perfect for a special occasion. We have had many items on their menu and have never been disappointed. Aside from the wonderful cuisine, the service is top notch! I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a wonderful meal.

Met a colleague of my husband's here for dinner while visiting Tennessee. Outstanding food and service. One of the best restaurants I've ever been to! It was absolutely packed for a Wednesday evening. Everything from appetizer to dessert was a treat for the palate. If you're ever anywhere within a 40 minute drive of this restaurant, please make an effort to visit. You WON'T be disappointed! However, I STRONGLY encourage a reservation. Friday and Saturdays book up quickly.

As expected, the Buttermilk Pie was delicious, along with the Italian Grilled Cheese sandwich. The atmosphere is really cute. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is that it was the only vegetarian sandwich option. They just opened last week, so maybe they will add more vegetarian menu items once they get settled. I'm so happy to have another great bakery/sandwich shop like this in Maryville. Thank you, Foothills Milling for your excellent, quality food!

I could go on and on about FMC. It is my favorite restaurant in East Tennessee. The staff both back and front of house are wonderful. If you believe in tasting the love put into dishes, then go to FMC and taste it for yourself. It doesn't matter what you get, from apps to entrees to desserts, it is all literally made from scratch and divine. I was lucky enough to be home to get married about a month ago and took my now bride to FMC for her first time. She was, in a word, amazed. I was, for about the tenth time, blown away all over again. If you live near Maryville and have reason to dine eloquently, celebrate or just have the meal of a lifetime, do yourself the favor of skipping the usual "fine dining" haunts in Knoxville and make a reservation to FMC. I promise you and yours will not leave disappointed.

This was an excellent experience. First, the staff is very helpful. I had some trouble finding the place, because plugging the address into my GPS landed me about 1,000 feet too far north of the actual location. I called, and the staff stayed on the phone with me until I pulled into the parking lot. The owners did a wonderful job of turning an old milling company into a white-table-cloth, first class restaurant. Intimate lighting, candle light, etc. I started with the pulled pork spring rolls, which have cilantro in them and are served with sweet Thai chilli sauce. It was an usual combination of flavors, but it worked! Delicious. Then I got the pork shoulder and shrimp. I was hesitant, because I recently had a very poorly prepared cut of pork shoulder elsewhere. But this one was absolutely excellent. It was so tender, I didn't need a knife to cut it. It was served on a polenta cake and with a creole BBQ reduction sauce. The sauce wasn't as spicy as I was expecting, but it had an outstanding flavor. The wine list is extensive, although one of the higher-end Chardonnays was a bit disappointing. But it was an excellent meal, and it is actually reasonably priced for the experience.

OMG!!! 5 stars all the way!! If I could give it 10 stars, I would!!! It is that good!! You do need reservations, but it is sooo worth it! The service is impeccible! The food is "out of this world" good! I had BBQ Duck. So sweet, and good. Melts in your mouth. with asparagus, and Mac & Cheese. (this is Not Kraft!) My husband had the Meatloaf. (Not your Mother's meatloaf) Not that your Mother's meatloaf isn't wonderful... but OMG!!! Yummy! And the desserts! Wow!!! Chocolate Creme Brule to perfection! with a small piece of brownie, and these Amazing Chocolate cookies!!! Ever so slightly crunchy on the outside, and soft & chocolatey gooey on the inside! Melt in your mouth, yummy-ness! My husband had the Strawberry Short cake. Simply perfection! You will never find any Strawberry Shortcake this good anywhere!!! It is a bit pricey, but don't let that stop you. It is sooo worth it. You will not be disappointed. You will love it! Just Go!!!

Im here on business and wanted to do something local. I saw the reviews on yelp and decided to try it. The restaurant was fully reserved for the whole week, but I called and they offered seating in the bar. it looked like there were 4 other business people were dining at the bar. The lentil soup is out of this world. The fresh baked bread made in-house also very good. The dessert was delicious as well. Coming back tomorrow night.

Foothills Milling really is a 'Woo-hoo!' And it deserves 4.5 stars. But Yelp still doesn't have 4.5 stars so alas it's stuck with a 4. (Grrr, yelp) The only reason I cannot give this place 5 stars is because my entree was not as amazing as I expected. Everything else, however, was truly excellent. I am excited to return, if I can remember to make a reservation. (See #1 on the Cons list.) The Pros 1. Small. Personal. Intimate. Nice lighting. Warm & cozy. Relaxing music. 2. Excellent service. First class! From the man who takes reservations over the phone, to the greeting at the door, to the wine & food service in its entirety. 3. Waiter knowledge...stupendous. Our waiter knew everything about the menu. The ingredients, the farms where the food was grown, the way the dishes were prepared, tastes and textures, and random things in between. He knew all about the wine list too. I'm very impressed. 4. The Food-- Delicious. Fresh. Farm to table. Unique and creative dishes that are presented nicely and taste great. My fish was OK, but quite frankly, I expected (& deserved) it to be out-of-this-world, considering the price and all the warm-up dishes we had that were just delightful. It was an anti-climactic entree. The Cons 1. Virtually impossible to get a weekend reservation less than 3 weeks in advance. Some people may see that as a pro because this place is always busy. But it's bothersome to me. The solution? Add a few more tables. There is room, I assure you. Have you ever dined in a SOHO eatery in NYC? You're basically in somebody else's lap. But nobody cares because the food is THAT good. Tip: It's not technically in Knoxville. It's in Maryville (pronounced by locals as MER-vil). This isn't really a big deal considering the two cities border one another. But you should know that one of the best restaurants in Knoxville is...well..not actually in Knoxville.

Probably the most consistent, really good( foodie quality) restaurant in the Eastern Tenn area (with the exception of Blackberry Farm, which is a whole different price range). Very creative, complex flavors and is always a surprise to anyone you take there for the first time. I think prices are great for the quality and experience. Simple but nicely done inside; excellent stable waitstaff. They do have decent wine list but you can also bring your own wine for $10 corkage. Reservations are strongly suggested. It is full nearly every night year round.

While I have eaten here on many occasions through the years and the food has been and continues to be the best in this area, service has been a disappoint during my last three visits..........and with the same waitress in the bar area. Southern hospitality seems to have escaped her. Never had this happen with service in the dining room, though.

Incredible! This place is absolutely fantastic - I could not have higher praise for it. Everythign is done so well and the menu elvolves with time. I spent some time in maryville for work and I ate here pretty much every night. The kobe steak was possibly the best thing I've ever eaten in entire life. All the sauces are dont to perfection. The flavors are rich, yet light. It's pricier than other options in the area, but it is well worth it. This place in one par with NYC and LV food - amazing!

This has to be my favorite restaurant in our area. I love it! I've had several "date nights" here, celebrated many birthdays, and spent some great quality time with loved ones!! Excellent food. Excellent service. Excellent ambiance. We love Tommy. I would suggest you call to make a reservations a few weeks in advance. If they are booked, you can also ask for a table in the bar. We have also enjoyed our meal sitting at the bar! I always order the "Baby Spinach and Warm Bacon Dijon Dressing" Salad. My favorite --mmmmm. I am not typically a fish person, but I LOVE their "Cedar Planked Salmon". Melts in your mouth. Don't like the sides that come with the dishes...just ask to change them. Another favorite entree is the "Grouper". And do not leave out the dessert...because let me tell you....it might just be the best thing you have ever bitten into. They also carry one of my favorite Rieslings...Relax. Cheers!! If we lived closer to the restaurant.....I fear I would be a regular!

Foothills Milling Company is my favorite restaurant! The food is delicious and the service is excellent. Tonight we had the fried tomatoes, Caesar salad, venison and grouper. I love the amuse bouche and sorbet palate cleanser. You won't be disappointed!

I've been eating with the Vaughan's since their restaurant was located in Wear's Valley. Back then, it really was a hidden secret. Nowadays, it's right in the middle of Maryville, so it really isn't a surprise anymore, and shame on you if you live within a hour of this place and haven't been yet. I would warrant that this establishment was one of the first in East Tennessee to use sous-vide. They also grind their own cornmeal. I am sure that everything else is house-made - the level of perfection here is unmatched. Some of my favorites include the Fried Green Tomato with tomato pepper chutney, basil aioli, and goat cheese - great way to start off a meal. They also have incredible duck confit, and if you are lucky, Chef Bart will have some awesome charcuterie going on. Then it is onto the salads, all of which are more inventive than "Greens" and a great second course. And last but not least, the main courses, expect large portion sizes, I mean, really large sizes in general, prepared in an awesome nouveau-Southern fashion. They really know how to do pork (I am a bad, bad Jew), and really know how to make seafood sing. And it is all fresh, too! Not sure how they get such great-quality fish and shellfish, but it always is spot-on. And clearly someone there has a love affair with Benton's bacon, and I mean, who doesn't? Their breads and desserts are also always top notch, throw in a good wine list, and you have yourself the complete package. And I would be remiss if I didn't mention that they have great service, too! Truly the greatest dining experience in East Tennessee - don't miss it! And really, get a reservation.

Make Reservations! It's a must when you go to this quaint, small, elegant restaurant. My friends and I sat at the bar so that we would not keep a server extra late, as we had walked in about 30 minutes before they were to close. There was still plenty of people around the bar though while we were dining and after we left. We ordered a bottle of the Tilia Malbec which is a midrange bottle of wine and it was decent. I have to say it always impresses me when someone who is serving me can keep my water full. It always looks good and it made me very happy. The appetizers we ordered were the Vidalia Onion Goat Cheese Tart; Salmon Flatbread; and the Fried Gulf Oysters. I wasn't crazy about the goat cheese tart because I got a bite around the outside at first and it was not great but then I had another bite this time in the middle and it tasted much better. The salmon flatbread was the type of appetizer I would expect some other restaurant to do but not the Milling Company. However it was very good. The oysters were definitely my favorite appetizer. Sprinkling your oysters with the Tabasco sauce they provide is a must, believe me! I had asked the bartender which to order the oysters or the fried green tomatoes and without hesitation he said the oysters. He was right. I will order the oysters again! The only salad we ordered was the Mixed Green Salad with Fried Okra. I have a weak spot for fried okra. The grilled red onions were prepared very well and the garlic buttermilk dressing was a great finish for this salad. I will definitely order that again. Now for the entrees. We ordered: the Horseradish Crusted Grouper; Lamp Two Ways; and the Pork Cheeks. All three of these entrees I would order again. The menu online is a little different than the one they have right now. There was a scallop dish on the menu when we went. I saw it carried out to another loyal patron at the bar beside us and it looked amazing. I will try that out next time I go. The grand finale for the evening was dessert. We ordered the Strawberry Shortcake, and a Lemon platter of three different lemon desserts. I enjoyed the Lemon platter more than I enjoyed the Strawberry Shortcake. They were both good. The bartender made a fresh pot of coffee for me and didn't hesitate. He was on point. The wine list was not very extensive but the food was very good. I will definitely return to this place. If you have not eaten here, you should. It is one of Maryville's best restaurants for sure!! Cheers!

We really enjoyed our recent visit to the milling company. From the cocktails and apps to the entrees everything was great. The apps we really enjoyed were the onion tart and salmon. I had the pork shoulder and scallops and it was very good if not an odd combo. I would give 5 stars if I didn't go to the restroom. I've been in fast food places with nicer restrooms! Spend a little money and update it to match the quality of the restaurant.

First I have to say I'm so glad I finally made it here! I have been putting it off since I moved back. I truly think this place has the best food in the Knoxville area. To see what they have done with building considering it was once a bait and tackle shop! The ambience is very nice but can feel somewhat cramped. Now to what really matters! The wine list is limited but has enough to cover a basic night out! The appetizers are fit to be served at the finest restaurants around the country. The entrees are so difficult to choose from because they all sound so great. I settled on the steak and potatoes with spinach. The fillet was so tender I could have honestly used a butter knife! The seasonings were perfect with no spice overpowering the other. The potatoes were a play on the southern dish of a potato cake. Nice crust with sour cream and Benton's bacon on it. The spinach had a solid meaty flavor that really played well with the steak. I didn't save room for dessert but the menu sounded amazing! I would highly recommended eating here but like stated by others, reservations are almost a must.

Make a reservation, eat here! Great service, friendly staff, amazing food. I have had a few different things here and they have all been terrific. Fried green tomatoes - yum! Lobster Tempura, sounds heavy right? Not at all, it is amazing! I wish I could lick my plate, so good.

Simply awesome! Incredible quality and great presentation. Pricing is very fair for this caliber of food. Nice wine selection, but wouldn't mind seeing a little broader cab selection. One of the tastiest filets I have had in a while. A true gem!

You all come back now,,, ya hear! is what the patrons at Foothills milling company will tell you as you walk out. If you are visiting Tennessee or are here on business, here is a fantastic spot for a meal. A family own restaurant that offers good dining and classic rustic feel in the heartland... ok not really in the heartland but they make you feel like you are at home. The food good, let me tell you. You walk into this red painted 1 story building off of a side road you don't really know where you are going. There are no big signs, no neon pointing spotlights, just a non-descript red bright building. Open the door and you are literally taking a step back to inhale all the sweet bbq meat smells. The paplov response is initiated... the host taking the cue, swings you into the dining room setting... low lit candle light, dim atmosphere but classic civil war era pieces adorn the walls. A look at the menu had my eyebrow raised, only because I wanted to try just about everything. For the appetizers, they had fried Green Tomatoes: tomato pepper chutney, basil aioli and goat cheese. Fried Oysters were also available: Fresh gulf oysters fried and served on sour dough toast topped with green onion remoulade, Benton's bacon, and celery. You will have to take a side of lipitor with every meal. The spinach salad was delicious. Baby spinach wrapped in a warm Bacon Dijon Dressing made with goat cheese, onion and roasted tomatoes, sprinkled with crispy black eyed peas. But the piece of resistance, was the pork loin. All juicy meat loin. All natural pork loin chop grilled and topped with wild mushrooms and truffle fonduta, served with mashed root vegetables and baby green beans. Meat lovers, beware.. it taste real out here in this neck of the woods! Beautiful presentation.

We had a great dining experience after years of looking for an excellent restaurant near the Smoky Mountains in the TN side. Other restaurant owners should take note of how well it works when they use fresh ingredients, the chef is creative, the staff is friendly and the place is clean and soothing. We live in the Sevierville area part of the year and will make this restaurant our place to go every time we are in town. We'll have to make sure to reserve a table way in advance......but it's well worth it.

Certainly good, but not the absolute best ever. We were eating with a small group of friends mixed with newbies and veterans of the Milling Co. The service was quite good and the menu certainly unique with variety. Our menu varied from pork shoulder, which I chose. To shrimp with grits. Many more interesting choices than the other local higher-end offerings. Much more satisfying than the steak and ribs found on all of the local menus. These were well thought out and well prepared dishes. The pork shoulder and sausage came with a kraut and bacon filled pancake/crepe. A good solid portion that had everything right. My wife had the Stuffed Meatloaf...meatloaf? Not my first choice, but it was ok. Pork bbq wrapped with beef meatloaf topped with a tomato sauce. Neither of us would choose the meatloaf again. The price was surprisingly reasonable. Especially considering the quality and portions of our meals. Two meals with one glass of wine was around $65. Definitely good, definitely be going back, but definitely not 5 stars.

I was in town from Cleveland Ohio. A fellow Chef said that's his favorite place. The food was perfect!!! Being a Chef and owner of a Catering company I love great food cooked and prepared right.

First time in after several prior attempts and the perseverance paid off. Delicious cocktails to start followed by a tasty wedge salad and goat cheese/Benton's tart. The rack of venison was the most tender I've ever had and the Jack Daniels black currant sauce really knocked it out of the park. Everyone else said their food was similarly great and desserts were top notch. Reservations seem to be a must unless you're by yourself. Will return again!

First of all, as everyone else comments, make a reservation. We naively thought that a random Tuesday night would not require reservations. When I called, they didn't have an opening for an hour. However, I convinced my husband to stop by since we were so close and the first hint of their excellent customer service was that they slipped us in without a reservation. The food was superb. Fresh baked bread, excellent spinach salad, sorbet palate cleanser and then cedar plank salmon and pork shoulder entrees were all equally amazing. The blackberry cobbler was to die for. We continued to get amazing service and great recommendations from our waitress and as we were leaving, one of the owners went out of his way to make sure we were satisfied. Excellent restaurant to have wonderful food and be treated well. Kudos!

What a great place! Family owned and you will feel like part of the family. Best kept secret in the south, although it may take a couple of weeks before there is an opening for dinner. It is worth planning ahead. Great menu with a little change each week. Service is five star, wine list and bar will not disappoint. All of the little things that make dinner out very special, prices are very reasonable for the quality of the meal. Enjoy!
