We had a nice dinner here. B's cousin and cousin-in-law suggested we try it out. Our server Christian was incredibly attentive, upbeat, and knowledgeable. She refilled our drinks and checked up on us. You have a choice of 3 bowl sizes. Once you've picked that, you fill it up with raw meats/seafood and veggies. Then pick a sauce from the wide variety offered and hand it to the awesome guy at the stir fry station. Tips are accepted and greatly appreciated I'm sure. He cooks it up for you and your sever brings the prepared meal to your table. You also have a choice of fried rice, udon noodles, etc. that comes with your meal. They give you a little card with the choices and you circle one. Write down your name on the card as well. This is how the cook at the stir fry station knows which bowl is yours. Overall, we enjoyed our meal and more importantly, the time spent with loved ones.

Closing Time AND Great Service...yes those two things really happened at the same time! I have to give this Genghis a shout out. My family and I were looking for a quick sit-down meal close to our house around 8:30pm on a Tuesday - "Genghis!" they wanted - we were about 30 minutes away and called to verify hours. The manager hospitably said "Well, we close at 9, but come on over, we won't kick you out". We arrived just around 9 and sure that the staff were probably just wanting to clean up and get outta there, but we were actually greeted by smiling faces and told by our server and the manager "no rush, we'll all be here for a while". Our server was friendly, attentive, and courteous. The food "bar" was clean and stocked as they normally would be at 6pm, they were not trying to take things away or clean up. The chef cooked our meals just as they would at any time of the day, and it was delicious! Quality of food and service this time around were outstanding. I commend the management team for training their staff to have top notch customer service at any time of day (and the server was rewarded at 30% for doing so) . And a small shout out to the cleanliness - I thought the restaurant was particularly clean. Of course the "sauce" bar looked like a small volcano had erupted, but doesn't it always :) Maybe the fact that we were the only ones in there and it was closing time so all hands were on deck to clean to go home, but it was clean for us nonetheless and that's all that matters Side Note: Online hours show that this particular Genghis closes at 9:30pm - We really aren't THAT family showing up as they are locking the doors. Thank you Genghis team for welcoming and accommodating my family so late at night, we truly appreciate you and will be back....earlier next time :) Keep up the good work!

Why does it have to be sooooo confusing. White rice was crunchy. Fried rice was good. Its mongolian BBQ, why not all you can eat?? Table games cost money. Don't be surprised like me.

Went here recently for lunch with my family and will not be going back. The build a bowl stations were disgusting with so much cross contamination going on and food all over the counters and floor. The staff was rude and the person manning the grill was banging and throwing bowls and utensils around and grumbling about something. The entire place was gross. We left rather than risk food poisoning. We used to go here often but will not ever again.

So here's my beef with the place: I've been to Mongolian places before but I've never seen one so gross as far as food everywhere (on the floor, foods mixed with other foods, foods dropped all over the bar, etc.) I mean I know you can't clean up constantly but this place downright grossed me out. They were wiping food off the main bar right by this woman's hand and bowl as she was putting stuff in her bowl. Then, they were knocking it in the floor. I just can't. The food area was a nightmare. The meat area looked pretty bad as well. I love in the reviews that people are saying this place is fresh--most of the meat was frozen and the veggies tasted like they were straight out of a can. I didn't expect a five star restaurant by any means and I don't get grossed out by buffets easily but yuck! As far as taste, we had strawberry lemonade that was watery. It was just a big fat no. I had two bites and left it. I used the recipe card for the Mongolian bbq. It's Khan's or nothing.

Me and boyfriend came in tonight and were very happy with our service. Jared did an excellent job and was very personable. We do not normally eat at Ghangis Grill but now we want to come more often to have Jared as our server.

I have a love/hate relationship with this Genghis location. Love that it is close to my house and fairly quick to get in/out of but hate the fact that the food and service are entirely inconsistent from visit to visit. My most recent visit was a total 5-star visit so I decided to write a review to help those that may read other (older) reviews and not try this location based on old reviews. Yes, it is true this location was formerly closed for non-payment of sales tax to the State of Tennessee. They obviously resolved that issue or they wouldn't have re-opened. My largest (personal) gripe has always been the absolutely horrible service in this location (Murfreesboro location = much better service) but I was in the Hendersonville location earlier this week and the service far exceeded our expectations. So much so that we even told the Manager that he finally had a good team of employees. Our server (Lauren) was top notch (something rare in this location) as she had our beverages and appetizer on the table when we arrived back to the table from filling our bowls for the grill guy. She anticipated drink refills and brought them without asking and also take out drinks for us and to go containers. The pot stickers were some of the best cooked, most flavorful pot stickers that I've had in a LONG time. I will definitely get these again. We ordered them primarily because of the free appetizer special with the purchase of 2 regular bowls and 2 drinks. The Manager was helping or showing another employee how to refill the vegetable containers when we went through the line and he was extremely helpful with sauce recommendations and our starch selections. He even took our bowls and our starch choices while the guy at the grill kept cooking. I've seen some of the reviews talk about how dirty the food line was and describe cross contamination but I can tell you that this is currently not the case. There was an employee at all times behind the food line cleaning and keeping this tidy and re-filled. (this was completely not the previous experiences but hopefully is going to be the new norm) Our bowls were average.... but you can't blame anyone for your bowl taste but yourself. You fill it and sauce it - all they do is cook it (adding nothing to it). I do recommend double cabbage for your starch. I would give 5 stars for this review but my previous trips at times have been absolutely horrible so I will just say that this location is improving and I recommend you give it another whirl if you haven't recently.

This was the first time my family and I have tried this restaurant. We are from out of town and wanted something fairly quick. The food was great and the staff was very friendly. They informed us of all the specials and how to order. A nice laid back atmosphere and such a great price for the portion of food you get.

  • Jenna A.

This place sucks. We ordered cocktails that didn't arrive until we were done with our food. We asked more than one waiter about it and nobody went and checked on it. Staff was not friendly at all and acted like we were bothering them. It was a Tuesday night and we were one of three tables in the whole restaurant. Our waiter kept asking us if we wanted dessert and would not take no for a answer. He already was holding us up with the drinks we ordered, we were not about to extend our misery.

This place continues to disappoint. Once a favorite lunch spot; it has gradually ceased to become a viable Mongolian BBQ option, as the more accurate Asian proteins have slowly been replaced to cater to the lowest common denominator. Instead of featuring shrimp, scallops, calamari, and other seafoods, we have now apparently decided that a Mongolian grill should feature pulled pork, pepperoni, and other completely non-authentic products. I, of course, realize that a chain has to keep its local customers happy, but seriously?! Have we gotten to the point where we can throw a few American foods on a some rice and call it "Asian?" Is this Golden Corral?!?! Additionally...What happened to all the nice menu graphics on the wall where a customer could see viable starting points for creating delicious bowls which featured ACTUAL Asian ingredients? What's next, taco meat? Breakfast sausage? Hot dogs? Very, very disappointed in the decline of this restaurant and won't return until order is restored.

Would give 0 if we could, has gotten overpriced, as well as charging people for their kids sitting at the table pushing buttons on their game tablets. impo if i as a server knew that a customer had small kids and our business charged for the lame trivia game preset and on at the table, i would be sure to tell the customer that if they play the game or push the buttons they will have to pay. Hendersonville branch charged us basically $30 for two people whose 2 small toddlers didnt eat but instead entertained themselves pushing the buttons that the waitress in fact saw and laughed about. Then when we asked about it the waitress, got smart and said i can show you where it says it will charge you. But how would we have known that if you laughingly told our kids it was just a game people can play while they eat? Seriously disappointed in the lack of professionalism in this establishment. Then said shed get the manager, which she didnt bc he shook his head and wouldnt take off the charge.

A year ago this restaurant would have gotten a 5 star rating. That is not the case anymore. This location IS consistent though. The food is ALWAYS burnt and the process is ALWAYS changing. Our waitress was amazing but the lack of attention paid to the preparation of the food has pushed me away. This will probably be the last time I visit Genghis grill.

This restaurant is ideal for getting your creative cooking juices flowing. Here, you are the chef combining your favorite ingredients into one bowl. You pick your meat, spice it up, add your veggies, add a sauce on the side and then choose a rice or pasta to compliment your creation. Don't feel confident enough to create your own bowl? Not to worry, they have easy to follow recipes ready to go. I highly recommend the Chili Garlic Steak bowl! Once you have everything selected your GG Grillmaster will cook it right up for you. There are great servers like Kelsey, Bailey, Yoshi and Natalia ready to make sure you have a great dining experience. The one downside is that the bar can get a bit messy especially when the restaurant is busy. The staff work very hard to keep it clean but there will still be some dropped broccoli or squash every now and then. After finishing your bowl save room for some dessert. The cheesecake and double brownie come highly recommended by my daughter. If you like a beer or cocktail with your dinner they have a nicely stocked bar that would suffice I'm sure. I've enjoyed many bowls here and I see many more in my future. But don't take my word for it. You'll never know how good it is until you try it for yourself!

  • Eugene C.

Ok so here is the deal. The place is poorly managed. The food bar is a mess, stuff spilled everywhere and the staff can't keep up. It's very deceiving because if you come and not many people are here it makes it seem ok, but when the place is hoping good luck. On a side note we came two weeks ago and they had ran out a common draft beer, 2 weeks later we tried it again and still out. I blame management. Seems like the staff wants to do well but not properly trained and get overwhelmed easy. I will probably come back but try and not come when busy. Very popular teen restaurant also.

Sorry to see a really good experience go down the tubes. There appears to be no manager on site. The last three time my wife and I have been there it looks and feels like no one cares. First off, the server drops off your choice of bowls--large or small. And one two ounce cup for your sauces. Last month it was two little cups, and a month or two before it was get your sup at the sauce dispenser--how ever much you wanted. Which in most cases might be three little plastic cups. Talk about changing the experience--the food bar itself is unmanned and many selections are empty or nearly empty, My wife is vegetarian and the last few times, the tofu container was empty or nearly empty. There is food mixed with other food items--the bar is pretty gross, It has changed dramatically since the first time we ate there two years ago. It will be a while before we go back. It is a case of a good thing going bad.

I had a meeting over lunch today and they wanted to go to Genghis. Since I hadn't been in a while we headed over. There's not too much to say about this chain restaurant, good or bad. You sit down, get a little metal bowl, the waitress takes your drink order and then you go get in line to get your protein'(chicken, beef, fish, tofu, pepperoni, etc) then your veggies, pick your sauce and then hand it all to the guy behind the big cooking wheel who mixes it all together and places it on a bed of rice or pasta or noodles. Minutes later, your waitress comes by, hands you your food, fresh and hot off the big cooking wheel thingy. The restaurant is clean, the food is fine and the prices are about what one would expect. Nothing is out of the ordinary - EXCEPT Fascinatingly for such a nondescript, run of the mill place, they actually have a full and decently stocked bar. So while today I had to go back to work, its a good thing to keep in mind as 4 kids and a full bar go nicely together.

This Genghis Grill experience was better than the Chattanooga location. The location is isolated and this was the only place open in that plaza during dinner time. Selection here appeared smaller than other locations - I didn't see hard boiled eggs. The rest of the usual foods were present - various meats, seafood - on the protein section. The veggies didn't seem as comprehensive as I've experienced previously. Service - average at best. It took quite a while for the food to come. We were next to each other in line and apparently my food took 5 minutes longer to cook compared to my guest. Waitress came by as I was finishing my beverage. She made no effort to clear any dirty dishes from snacking. The table next to us was dirty when we arrived. By time we left, it was only half busted.

  • Jeff H.

Horrible. I drove there out if my way at 8pm to find that they are closed because they are out of ingredients. I spoke with the MID - Kelsey, she unformed me that they were indeed out of ingredients and it wasn't her fault. Evidently the food just magically appears here?!?!? Won't ever go again - she was less than pleasant and clearly depriving a village of an idiot.

  • Dustin B.

You basically just walk in, they hand you a bowl, and the fun begins! You pick a raw meat and pile as much as you want in your bowl. You can combine meats as well. Then you choose from about 20 spices and throw that in. Choose from about 20-30 vegetables to throw on top then pick from a bunch of sauces and put the sauce in a little cup. Give the bowl to the cook, tell them what kind of noodles and rice you want, and they cook it on this huge grill, adding the sauce and noodles/rice at the end. If your meal isn't good it's because you didn't choose the right ingredients! One if the best tasting meals I've had. I love the options. Very inexpensive, great choices, and fresh off the grill greatness you won't find many other places. Highly recommended!

Closed due to non payment of sales taxes to the state of TN. I drove a distance to find this out at the door. They collected customer's sales tax money but never turned it in it would appear. Avoid.

Clean place....fascinating concept. Very confusing first time, like what the HE double hockey sticks are we supposed to do here? LOL! First you gather raw ingredients using a weird number system, and season yourself, and add sauce, for the cooks to prepare it on the grill. The selection was "OK" at the raw bar but I was not impressed to see the sliced beef for Mongolian BBQ to be partially frozen. Veggie selection was average at best. Tasted good, but I've had a lot better flavor wise. Desserts were the best thing I had there, were excellent. The server was nice, but didn't have much knowledge of how things were done there. I'd try it again, but not writing home about it.

Ghengis Grill is fantastic. It's like the Asian version of Subway or Blue Coast. All the ingredients are fresh and delicious when cooked. Your food is brought quickly, so there is not much of a wait, even with a ton of people. So if you like Kabuto or Fulin's, but don't want to pay so high, go to Genghis Grill.

  • Mary N.

The greeter at the door was friendly and seated us quickly, the service after that was pretty slow and at the time there were only two other tables seated. The server was pleasant just very slow. Food was excellent, I love the Dragon sauce and Dragon spice and the meal arrived quickly. Tried the Pomegranate Tea- it was okay- not great but a nice change of pace.

  • Sam L.

There's something about picking your own ingredients, sauces, etc. that makes this place delicious. It's a nice place to pig out without feeling too guilty about it.
