We've driven by (and smelled) Center Point Barbecue a lot of times, and every time, I thought we really needed to try it. I 'm a huge fan of slow-smoked barbecue. Then, we saw Center Point featured on Diners, Drive-in, and Dives, and again, I thought we really should try it. So finally, we were in that area at lunch time, and decided to stop in. The place was packed, and our waitress told us that it's that packed every day. We sat on stools at the counter, giving us the opportunity to chat with the staff and other customers, and we had a great time. My wife had a baked potato stuffed with pulled pork, and she loved it, but couldn't finish it. I love pulled pork, and got mine with beans and coleslaw. The beans and slaw were only so-so, but the pork was outstanding! I liked having a six-pack of barbecue sauce in front of me, and I tried each of them. I'm thinking that this would be a great place to pick up one of their family dinners to bring home when I don't feel like cooking.

After seeing Hendersonville's Center Point Pit Barbecue featured on Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives, I had high hopes for today's meat-filled adventure. To my surprise, there was only one other vehicle in the parking lot when I rolled up at 11:30am. Oh well, more barbecue for me. One of Center Point's specialties is the Fried Green Tomatoes appetizer, which comes topped with yum yum sauce, sour cream, and chives. I had no idea what yum yum sauce was, but I was sure it would be amazing. As expected, the fried green tomatoes looked spectacular. They were piping hot and fresh from the fryer, complete with crisp seasoned cornmeal batter. Center Point's yum yum sauce was as delicious as its name suggested, but I'm pretty sure it's just a close cousin of remoulade. This was definitely a good way to get things started. The only combo plate on Center Point's menu was a Pit Master Special, which comes with three meats of your choosing. For mine, I picked brisket, pulled pork, and ribs. Center Point's plates also come with a cornbread patty and two sides. The Southern-style potato salad and the white beans both sounded like good additions. I generally start with the side dishes before diving into the meat, so why break with tradition? The potato salad was very good. I could really taste the pickles and onion, both of which added a pleasant crunch. This was only my second time trying white beans. Thankfully, these were far less soupy than my first encounter. The beans were cooked just right: past al dente, but not mushy. Sadly, my brisket came out chopped. Well, that's not entirely accurate. The brisket on the very bottom of my pile was still in slice form, so I guess the rest just crumbled during the plating process. I'm not sure which is worse. There was only a slight smoky flavor to be found. Some pieces were decently tender, but most of my thin, lean pieces were a little dry. Clearly this wasn't a Texas brisket. The pulled pork was rather monotone. I couldn't find any bits of bark anywhere here either. It was also quite bland and a little stringy. I didn't taste any smoke, so I decided to try some of their barbecue sauces out of pure necessity. The Sweet Surprise sauce definitely jazzed things up a bit, with a good kick on the back end. The Mild Barbecue Sauce was ok, but not as good. I left the third barbecue sauce alone and just moved on to the ribs. When I ordered, I had asked for barbecue sauce on the side. My waitress assured me that all of the sauces were just on the table to be added as I saw fit. You can imagine my confusion and disappointment at being served sauce-covered ribs. It took more effort than expected to slice through the crust, but the meat below was surprisingly tender. The ribs were cooked well, with just a slight tug needed to remove meat from bone. The thick sauce was rather spicy, such that I couldn't taste any smoke there might have been, or really anything else other than capsaicin. In my opinion, $31.00 is too expensive for an iced tea, an appetizer, and a three-meat combo, even if the portions were fairly large. My three-meat combo plate was almost $20.00 by itself, while most places I've been charge somewhere in neighborhood of $14.00-15.00. Chalk this up to inflation or the ever-rising cost of meat if you like, but I managed to find a menu picture from 2011, and the price of their three-meat Pit Master Special was $16.99 even back then. The barbecue was almost passable, although I'd honestly say that the best parts of my meal were the meatless appetizer and sides. UPDATE (January 26, 2015): Just to satiate my own curiosity, I decided to investigate pricing at other Nashville-area barbecue joints which offer three-meat, two-side combo plates of brisket, pork, and ribs. Of those joints whose menus I was able to find online, only eight offered this sort of combo. One of those offered the combo as a full pound of meat and specifically stated that it was meant to be shared by two people ($24.00), so I took that joint off my count. The remaining seven barbecue joints had three-meat combos which ranged in price from $11.50 to $20.00, with $15.18 being the average price. I also found two other joints offering four-meat combo plates for $16.29 and $18.99 respectively, both of which would be cheaper than a meat trio at Center Point. Although Center Point didn't have the highest priced three-meat combo, it came in a very, very close second and outpaced the third-highest joint by about $3.50.

This place is just awful.....the meat was dry and old. The bbq sauce was all vinegar and pepper. The portions were small for the price....I don't get any of these good reviews.

Great bbq, love their sauces. I got the baked potato with pulled pork and it was amazing, topped it with the Big Bad Wolf sauce and it was on point!

Chess pie is weird, but amazingly good. It was my first time eating fried green tomatoes, so I have no comparison, but yum yum! Not the biggest fan of BBQ, but the smoked ham was great. Awesome service. Our waitress must have thought we were weird, asking a lot of questions about the menu. They actually serve buttermilk as a beverage...

Good BBB for the area! We got takeout so out fried stuff was soggy but what do you expect with takeout so that was our fault but the sauces and bbb was on point! Very tasty! We would go here again.

This was a nice little find ... thanks in large part to Yelp. They have a diner in the front where you can sit down, or pick up an order. It's also where the kitchen is at. My group found a spot in the back dining room area, which has a limited number of tables. I ordered carved beef with mac and cheese, and baked beans. Also, we kicked it off with a host of fried goods, including fried pickles, fried green tomatoes, mozzarella sticks, chicken tenders and fried onions. Yes, very unhealthy but very good. I also had some fresh squeezed lemonade. We finished it off with some freshly made hot pecan pie. Oh my goodness it was so tasty. I'm not always one for dessert, but I would strongly recommend this. Service was solid, too. This place is a must. When I return to Nashville, I will certainly return.

This BBQ is amazing. I always stop in when I am in Hendersonville. Try one of their minced pork bbq sandwiches with the hot sauce, it will make you sweat in a good way. The BBQ beans are also great.

The ham is amazing! The brown sugar glaze is delicious. The baked beans, corn bread and fried green tomatoes are also pretty good. The mac and cheese and pulled pork sandwich were ok. I'd go back in a heartbeat just for the ham though.

  • Dagan B.

The mac n cheese was good and cheesy. The chicken breast was moist and tender with good flavor. The bbq, ribs, and brisket were all good but nothing that stood out among the many bbq places in Tn.

  • Jennifer B.

I love the taste of the BBQ but the last few times I have gone the BBQ is super dry :( the sides are not that great except the Mac and cheese which is made with white American. When the BBQ isn't dry its my fave! Loved the minced.

My parents moved just outside of Nashville and found this lovely gem! Everytime I visit I beg to go to center point. Their BBQ sauce is out of this world and their food is to die for ! The staff is friendly and curious and always keeps your glasses full of sweet tea. For your first visit I suggest the BBQ plate with Mac n cheese and some baked beans. No matter your side you will not be disappointed! Drive out of Nashville and try the real TN BBQ, you'll never want to go home !

Ok BBQ fans, this is an update, Center Point now has live music on Fridays! Just one guy singing. He doesn't sing loud - which is good because Center Point is small. It adds to the country ambiance. Nice addition!

This place rocks! Thank you Guy Fieri for helping me to learn about this place! The waitress was friendly! She gave me all the water I needed (I had a lot to eat). The owner is super friendly too, and gave me a free pecan pie. Where do I start? He cooks the best ham you'll ever have in your life (smoke, spice, sweet), and also a unique fried pork loin that comes with yum-yum sauce. The ham and pork loin went out to all the customers as free samples. There is a bell to show your appreciation for the service; I rang it at the end of my meal. Fried Green Tomatoes have cornmeal crunch, flavor, and spice to them! My platter contained ribs (good!), smoked chicken (super good!), and pulled pork (super tender!). The mashed potatoes and baked beans were rock solid. The prices are okay but they have a lot to choose from.

Flies, dry, goodbye. Filthy, grimy, unsanitary. For real BBQ, go to Hard 8 BBQ in Coppell, Texas.

Really good BBQ had brisket and pulled pork. Both were really well done. The red coleslaw was a great rendition the I might try to replicate at home. Over all good but I have to be honest we have a little place like this one relatively close to home ( about 30min drive each way) called Hickory Hills BBQ on us 31 in Edinburgh IN.

Great food.. BBQ and the homemade carrot cake, chocalate pie and ice cream were the best ever!!!

Worst bbq I have ever eaten. Had zero flavor straight from the microwave. Restaurant was filthy. I pray I don't get sick. I wonder where all these people ate that speak so highly of this place. EEEWWWW! The iced tea was not even good.

Oh Mylanta - you may need some after you eat all of the food that you'll get at this awesome little joint, but it is just also some yummy food. Center Point came highly recommended by a local, who enthused that he had a speaking part when Diners, Drive-ins and Dives visited the bbq joint. I went for a late lunch/early dinner, around 4 PM, because I wanted to avoid any crowds, and I had been forewarned that parking is limited (appears to be so!). I was the only diner at the time, and I was very warmly greeted when I arrived. I had about three people tell me hello - it was very nice. My server was a doll as well, epitomizing Southern charm - I was "honeyed" and "darlin'ed", which just charmed this tired traveler to pieces. I went for the works, and ordered a sampler: dry ribs, chicken, and pulled - not shredded - pork. I also got the creamy coleslaw and the greens, hold the corn cake. I am not a huge fan of barbecue sauce, I find it to be too thick, gloopy, and Ketchup-y sweet. But this spicy barbecue sauce was very good - I ended up lavishing all of my proteins with its drippy spicy goodness. The chicken was kind of boring, but a very nice size, whole boneless breast. The ribs were deliciously fall - off - the - bone tender, and I really loved the pulled pork! But my favorite by far, were the sides. Typically, I do not come to a barbecue restaurant and care about the sides - usually I am just there for the meat. But, the surprising show-stoppers were the delicious greens and the creamy coleslaw! The coleslaw was perfectly creamy, not too sweet, and crunchy without a bit of sogginess. And the greens, oh my goodness the greens - so flavorful and smoky without being greasy or mushy. I absolutely loved the greens. My entire meal, before tip was $17 - I thought that was very reasonable for all the food I got. I would definitely eat here again, and recommend it to anyone else wanting a tasty barbecue fix.

  • Tiffany W.

The portions are way too small for the price and the ribs tasted like they accidentally dumped a whole bottle of smoke flavor on them. Was that intentional? Eww. They were dry and the sides were not seasoned at all. Is half a bottle of vinegar in the sauce a thing here?

Pros: Pulled pork, and sliced briquet were smoked well, tasty, and moist. ( good thing b/c I think the choices of sauces are all bad ). I liked the hot sausage side, white beans, and fried pickle appetizers. Cons: Slow service. The previously mentioned sliced Brisquet is what you get when you order sliced beef ribs. I was told that it is a misprint in the menu after I got my plate. (Why not when I ordered the beef ribs)? (Why not fix the menu). They made it up to me by bringing a 1/4 rack of Babybacks which are not smoked, hot off the grill tough and dry. Not very good. I need to find a TN smokehouse that makes St Louis cut ribs in the pit. My son thinks the smoked ham sandwich is the best thing ever. I thought it fair to try it 3 times before reviewing. It's ok, but I'll be trying something else next time I'm hunting for BBQ in the area. If I had to go back I'd get pulled pork, with hot sausage +$2.00, with white beans and regular potato salad, but leave the sauce in the squirt bottles. I'd call it in for pickup to avoid the slow service. I really wanted to like it, but it just didn't live up to my expectations. By the way I checked the wood at the pit and saw one piece of what looked like hickory, so I don't know if they smoke with mixed woods. Anyway that's of no matter, I like the taste and moist smoking performance, but not enough to make me a regular.

I decided to stop here during my visit to Nashville since I had seen this place on Diners, Drive ins and Dives. Their main sign is pretty cool and the inside has pictures and autographs from every country star imaginable and more that has visited, even President George Bush Sr and Jr. there's plenty of dishes to choose from but I went with the basic BBQ platter with pulled pork, green beans and potato salad with corn bread on the side. They also have 6 different sauces to choose from, my favorite was the Big Bad Wolf. The pork and cornbread were amazing! I loved every bite of it. The green beans a potato salad not so much, nothing really special about them. Overall it was pretty good though!

The best bbq around. Staff was great and super helpful w/ suggestions on what to order. Food came out quickly and was cooked to perfection. Pulled pork and baked beans were great, (ordered seconds n I never do that ). This place is must go to if you're in the area of with in two hundred miles. My 3 friends and I ate here for an early dinner and it was unbelievable. If you like good homemade food this is a place to go! I had the bbq pulled pork and they have your choice of sauces to pick from. I also got macncheese and mashed potatoes. After we had the carrott cake. Amaaaazing. Would go back in a heartbeat. Great food and amount for the money you pay.

My wife and I went here because we had driven by it many times and have heard great things about it. We were very excited because we have not found great bbq in the area since moving here 3 years ago. We went on a Sunday afternoon and walked in. They were not that busy, but it took us between 5 and 10 minutes to realize that we should seat ourselves because there are no signs anywhere (not that we could see anyways) and the employees just kept walking by us like we weren't there. We sat down, looked over the menu, decided what we wanted, and waited. And waited. And waited. 10 minutes later, a guy comes over and says "Have you been helped yet?" We told him no and he took our drink order as well as our food. Soon after, another lady comes over and says "Have you been helped yet?" My wife ordered the 3 Little Pigs (3 pulled pork sliders) and I had the Brisket plate. The pork was bland and dry, but the worst part was that when she bit into it, there was a huge hard piece, either gristle or bone, in the first bite. We decided it must have been an accident and she took a bite from another of the sliders. AGAIN! As for the brisket, I am not sure if it is because I am from Oklahoma where the BBQ style is different, but I hated it. It had good flavor, but had tons of liquid and more than half of the substance served was inedible fat (I've heard of marbling, but this was fat marbled with some brisket). The mashed potatoes I ordered were just that, potatoes. No gravy, no salt. Just potatoes with a hint of garlic. The beans were the only thing that we both enjoyed from our meals. The BBQ beans were very good, some of the best I have had in a long time. We stood up to pay, waited at the cash register for about 5 minutes with not so much as an "I'll be right with you" or "One moment please". When someone finally came over, he asked how everything was and I said "To be completely honest with you, it wasn't good. The pork had gristle and the brisket had so much fat that it was hard to eat." His response? "Yeah we have that problem with our brisket. that'll be $18.50." Honestly? You have that problem with your brisket? Then don't serve it! We really wanted to like this place. We wanted to love it. Slow seating? Fine. Slow service? Fine. A little gristle in some pulled pork? It happens. The thing is, if the food was good other than these things, we would probably still love it. But, the quality of food was not to par, and we both felt sick a few hours after eating there. So, the search for good BBQ continues.

I didn't think there was BBQ in the Nashville area. Having tried several of the highest rated Yelp reviewed places and failed I had just about given up. This isn't the best BBQ I have ever had but it's really pretty good all around. I liked it a lot. I really like the place itself and the staff. The menu is great and the prices are very reasonable. They had live music tonight and he was great. The ribs were good. A little dry and I didn't love the sauce but they were a little smoky and really pretty good. I thought the pulled pork was even better. Smokey and delicious with their vinegar sauce. They also serve minced but I prefer the pulled and it was very good. The greens and vinegar slaw were similarly solid and the corn pancakes were delicious. I would definitely return if in the mood for BBQ. Lots of local families enjoying a nice evening out. It was a pleasure. Please don't go to Famous Dave's or any other chain when you can support your local business. This is worth trying!

What a delightful surprise...really good barbecue in Nashville! We went on the strength of Yelp reviews and were not led astray. The scent of smoke wafted its way into the car as we parked, which is always a good sign. This is a humble, family owned restaurant, and you will get multiple greetings when you walk through the door. I love that. We were invited to seat ourselves, and I chose the back room, as I heard the unmistakable sound of a guitar and country crooning...another delightful surprise; music with our dinner. I didn't have a huge appetite on my visit, but had enough to order the pulled pork plate with 2 sides and a corn cake...I went with their vinegar slaw and turnip greens. Hubby had the ribs, so I got to sample those too. The pulled pork was great; it had a pervasive smokiness and a nice meaty flavor. Sauces come table side, and their mild, which has a distinct vinegar note, was a perfect accompaniment. The sides were tasty also. I liked the ribs, but the pulled pork was the winner here for me. I will most definitely return for more delicious 'que!

I know a lot of people that like this place however I think it is just OK. The best thing they serve in my opinion is the white coleslaw. Every time we have had the barbecue it is dry and doesn't have a lot of flavor. We have used their catering and their prices are fair but once again their food lacks deep flavor.

  • Nathan S.

The sweet and sassy sauce is boss. In fact come here for the sauce over the BBQ. The pulled pork was good, brisket wasn't my cup of tea. The side are outstanding, and the service is friendly and attentive. You can't buy a beer with your que, so I really should mark this down to three stars but the sauce is keeping it up. The old hickory pit out back smells wonderful with the hickory wood smoking away.

The homemade chicken strips are the best I have ever had. I know it sounds simplistic, but they are perfection.

Excellent collar greens. Perfectly salty. I also had the "1 lbs" Burrito. I don't recommend that dish. If that's one pound, I don't want to know what their scale would say my weight is. However, their smoked chicken wings are easily the best wings I've ever had. And their pulled pork and brisket are phenomenal. Fried green tomatoes and okra are about average. There is very little seating and it's a bit cramped. Additionally, the prices are rather high for the non-BBQ items. I'd recommend eating here to try all the BBQ meat products but not much else. The desserts appear to be store bought as well. I'd avoid them. The staff are extremely friendly and the owner and pit master is always there meeting people and helping with the seating situation. Very nice guy.

As a disclaimer I am kind of a condiment whore and I know a lot of BBQ connoisseurs are all 'anti-sauce' - so keep that in mind when you read about my love of CP BBQ and their 6 delightful sauce choices to choose from ;) I always get the basic pork plate and its flavorful and moist on its own, but being smack dab in Middle Tennessee I think its grand and fun to get to choose from Memphis, Carolina and St Louis style sauces. All of them are great and can be purchased to go. My favorite sides are the zesty slaw (it aint that zesty unless you're a wimp) and potato salad. The Potato is pretty basic but goes well with the spice of the sauces. I'd skip the bland baked beans and green beans - which I've only had as a catering customer - not in house. The cornbread cakes are always fresh, hot and moist - Pleasant because so many BBQ places serve you a dry sad little puck you HAVE to serve under something lest its inedible. The service is always friendly and adequate, they keep the tea and water fresh. If you have a big appetite or are sharing, pick up a dessert to go. The tiny pie is so much more fun than normal pie!

Had to try it since we saw the new Triple D episode, great BBQ! We tried the fried green tomatoes which were unlike any I've had before and the pulled pork was very good. The misses: the BBQ sauces are all on the table and none of them really jumped out at me long with the side items being a very, very small portion. The place is pretty small so I can imagine it gets very hard to get a table or there is a very long wait. I also wish they would mark items on the menu that were seen on Triple D so it would be very easy to find.

3.8 the ribs were nothing to write home about. very dry spots in mine. sauces were ok, they lean towards the vinegar based but they have 6 kinds and half of htem are spicy the sides are why i gave them a 3.8. fyi though the potato salad is red potato based and im not a fan of doing that but i criticize places due to personal preference. beans were legit, greens were legit, okra was legit. pie were phenomenal. if you get chess or pecan tell them NOT to heat it up. those shouldn't be anyways but its obvious they just nuke them. its not necessary with those specific pies the SECRET star of the menu are the fried pork tenders. if you like chix tenders just get these for your meal. GREAT pork meat thats fried up like chicken fingers. the seasoning was stellar too. sausage looked great. JEANS: OK by far ORDER: waitress if dining in

There is a motto hung on the wall of Center Point. it reads something like "price is soon forgotten but quality is long remembered". Well, that is all too true for me in the most unfortunate of ways. Center Point smelled great from the road. I went in for lunch on a saturday and the place was packed. I ordered a pulled pork bbq sandwhich to go. So far so good. This is a bbq place so I'm miffed as to how my sandwich could be as bad as it was. I took the sandwich right around the corner to eat, less then three minutes away to the mansion. The bun was soggy. A toasted bun could have gone a LONG way to avoid that. There as a LOT of meat on my slimy soggy bun, lots of meat is good, but only the smallest amount of sauce. I couldn't even taste the sauce and I had to check under the bun just to find some red coloring that indicated its presence. The lack of a reasonable helping of sauce might have been OK if the meat had any flavor. The pork had smokiness but no seasoning to speak of. Good bbq pork has good flavor deep into the meat. This stuff lasted like it had been boiled, eww. The only reason I don't give this place a 1 star is because it had a good health score (100), quick service, and reasonable price for the quantity of food that you receive. I think the sandwich was five bucks but the quality WILL be remembered for a LONG time. Pork is meat candy so I just don't know how you can screw that up. This place should take some tips from newer places like Edley's to improve their execution and delivery of the product.

We stopped in tonight for some sides to take home. After spending $25 for bbq beans mash and mac ohhhh yea the side of slaw they left out I felt canned sides would have tasted better. The sad part is the slaw was the only thing we wanted and after calling back a dealing with a snotty manager Robert who said what do you want me to Do about it? And yea I'll put your name on the board for your next visit! Wow they have a board of names of forgotten or messed up orders. Lol. Save your money and open a can of food for the same quality of center point bbq and don't waste your time talking to the manager or who ever this Robert was!

I had the beef brisket, baked beans and cole slaw. They were awesome!!!! I also added sausage, which for two dollars was a steal. Also, I thought the service was fantastic very friendly and efficient.

Good BBQ, good corn bread, reasonable price, still need to work with sauces. Loaded potatoe and ribs are my favorite

Sometimes simple is better. Good food, good price. I have never had any complaints. While it might not be the best out there, it's still darn good. Try the smoked wings, by far my favorite thing on the menu.

The mac n cheese was good and cheesy. The chicken breast was moist and tender with good flavor. The bbq, ribs, and brisket were all good but nothing that stood out among the many bbq places in Tn.

Best BBQ in Hendersonville IMHO. The pork just melts in your mouth and the sauces are mild all the way to hot. The best cole slaw around which comes in a variety of flavors. Service is good and they'll make sure to treat you right. The next best side dish is the fried okra. Crispy and crunchy just like grandma used to make. Can't go wrong.

By far the best BBQ I've come across in Hendersonville. Very casual, family friendly, great prices...and the food is just delicious. The homemade sauces range from a mild sweet all the way to an inferno hot. The meat is always melt in your mouth tender...and the atmosphere is fun. Crowded on weekends, worth the wait.

My sister just moved to the area and she had tried this place for take out and said it was real good. I was in town visiting her for the weekend. We stopped in to eat before a Titan's game last month, the food was great but the service sucked. We were told to sit anywhere and decided to sit in one of the tables in the back(it's really a small place). After about ten minutes of no one coming to serve us , we got up and moved to the front platform seating area. 2 minutes later a guy(waiter) came and took our order, food didn't take long in coming, halfway into our meal we asked for more tea, we finished our food and no refill came we decided to just go, finally saw our person and got the check. I'd say there was about 10 customers dining in and and 4 people waiting on to go orders. We stood in line for another 10 minutes while a couple were talking to the male cashier/manager?? about something and waiting while he put together their to go items. A female employee came over once and looked my sister's way, as she was holding the bill and tapping her credit card on the end of the counter. I will say that the couple waiting on their order stepped out of the way and gave the go ahead motion to us but the guy never got the hint, so my sister said loudly, "Wow Our food must be free." I heard a snicker and another person standing behind us shook his head and sat in a chair waiting too. Not too long after that the cashier came and let us pay. The food was great the prices not too bad but don't eat in.

I came to Nashville for a 4 day conference and rented a car just to go bbq'n. CP Bbq ended up being the winner hands down. I get that on any given day our restaurant of choice can suffer deviation and CP's pulled pork and turkey, while not bad, were not stellar. The six sauces were unique and flavorful- no complaints there. The excellent brisket was smoky and well marbled (juicy). The fried green tomatoes and the ribs were the best Ive ever had. Enough said. I dont judge a bbq restaurant on their sides-who cares? Its about the meat. Gotta say though, the spicy red slaw is a must have for me. 6 bbq joints in four days... yes- I am carrying a meat baby. ...

I brought my mom her because she was visiting from Mississippi and we wanted to try a spot from Triple D. The wait staff and setting was great and super friendly, but to be honest it just wasn't mind-blowing. I have had better BBQ here in Nashville, and some of their sides, although homemade, just didn't taste that way. We really loved the pulled pork and the potato salad, but the baked beans and Mac and Cheese tasted like they were something you wouldn't have to make homemade. The cornbread pancake was unique and tasty. The green beans were also really good. I would go back for sure, but it wasn't as fantastic as we thought it would be.

If I had to eat at one restaurant for the rest of my life, it would be Center Point Barbecue. Every time I come back to Hendersonville to visit family and friends, this is the first place I go to eat. Make sure to get the smoked chicken wings and the pig in a pocket (barbecue, red slaw, and cabbage in a pita pocket covered with barbecue sauce) as it is amazing. I love, love, love this place with all of my heart and all of my stomach!

We loved the ribs! Pulled pork was above average. The cornbread pancake thing was good as were the white beans. Mac and cheese was ok. We liked it so much we tried to go back twice, but we were in town during the arctic vortex and it was closed.

I had a lousy take out experience at Center Point BBQ in 2009 and it is really a shame, because it took me until just now to try them again, and I wish I had gone back sooner. When I first moved to the area, we got some by the pound takeout and fries from them. The barbecue wasn't very good and the fries were soggy, and I strongly suspect the cause was the styrofoam cups in which everything was packaged. We finally decided to give them another shot recent, and his time we decided to eat inside. Good call. If you don't know, the store is located at the corner of Center Point Road and 31 in a somewhat odd looking yellow building. The dining area is bifurcated into a smaller area by the counter and a back room. Pick the back room, as the take out business is pretty busy. It is a seat yourself kind of place, so you'll stand there a while if you don't know that. We didn't know. ;) The service was a little sluggish and inattentive, but we were there during a shift change and at an odd time. Bathrooms and dining area were clean but the sauce bottles are a little messy. Food wise, excellent experience the second time around. We tried a very fascinating thing: fried pork tenders. I don't know why these haven't been in my life. Just wow. Perfect seasoning and an awesome idea! I had pork, brisket, and ribs. Because of our odd timing, I suspect the food was holdovers from lunch. The ribs had some dry spots but were overall pretty tender. The pork was a little dry, but the sauce made up for it. The brisket was perfect, and was the highlight of my meal. I also found the potato wedges very good, if a bit large and garlicky. The menu was quite interesting, with a lot of inexpensive sandwich options. I'm not giving them a full 5/5 because of the take out history. I'd rate the food as 3/5 takeout but 5/5 in the restaurant. I recommend them, provided that you are going to eat in. If you eat at home, it would be a toss up between them and Whitt's, with the tie going to Center Point only because they've got fries.

Easy 4 stars here. Great smoked meats. Best smoked turkey that I have had. 6 sauces that are all good. The mustard was my favorite. No cookie cutter chain just ok food here. Prices are very good. Sides under $2, great desserts for $2. We picked up smoked pork for later as well. Quantity of meals is OK. Thought it wou

Unimpressed. Sauces were good. But overall nothing to rave about here. Anyone who has had top notch BBQ in the south will agree that there are much better places. This place is good if you live close by and everything else is closed. Simply speaking to the food. Service was ok, nothing to complain about there.

Great real pit BBQ- pork, beef brisket, turkey..... Try the spicy red slaw. Homemade sauces...my favorite is burning bush.

I had an opportunity to eat here yesterday afternoon. I got the full rack of Baby Back Ribs...and yes, they were fork tender, and tasty....that's about where it all ended for me. I got the Macaroni and Cheese, and I have to tell you, I can make better out of the box from the grocery store. Bland, no flavor. I also got Corn on the Cob...and it was fair....small, and also flavorless....plus they didn't have "SALT" on the table, just some something called "Salt Blend" which I guess had some pepper in it. I tried to wrap my mind around some of the offerings for BBQ sauce, noticing the sign stating that they think they have the best sauce ever. I have to completely disagree. Just about all their sauces are VINEGAR based...so it's like squirting water on your ribs. They had one mustard based sauce that was supposed to be sweet and thick, but it turned out to be more spicy than sweet.....so none of the sauces were worth a flip for me. if i go back, I will just get my food to go, and put my own sauce on it. Not everyone loves heat and spicy sauces, or Vinegar....which is why my review is low. As I said, the meat was good...dry in some places..but for the most part good.

Holy crow this place is amazing. Being from New Jersey, I've never experienced barbecue like this before. The first ingredient in every one of their homemade sauces is "love". The service was wonderful and we were constantly checked on and brought more food and drinks. I'm totally going to crave this until I'm back in the Nashville area again.

I love everything about this place....atmosphere, food, service.....etc. I had the rib sandwich which looks like a half rack a ribs on a bun. I had to eat a bunch of the ribs to make it small enough to fit on the bun. Awsome!! Baked bean and potato salad great! I came back the second time and got the smoked chicken sandwich..the best ever!!! Came with a steak knife in it...that's how big it was!! Place to go if your hungry and like amazing bar b que!! Service is great!!

I recently took my family to Center Point anticipating a great meal of succulent smoked meats. I live near Center Point BBQ and I know they smoke their meat because the smell of hickory drifts across the street as you pass by. Normally this is a great sign that smoked meat is going to be enjoyed. However, by evidenced by the pictures I took of the ribs, there is a decidedly unsmoky flavor to the BBQ that was very disappointing. I can only draw the conclusion that either the ribs are par boiled or wrapped in foil during the cooking process. The pictures show some evidence of par boiling because half of the rib has zero smoke penetration. I don't really care why the meat isn't smoky, all I know is that good BBQ must have good smoke penetration and it ruins the experience for me when it doesn't. They have a good assortment of sauces but the meat doesn't stand alone, it must be accented by the flavorful sauces. My other companions had pulled pork which was adequate but again, not very smoky but the smoked sausage was quite good. The sides were okay. However the baked beans were not flavorful and were in fact bland. The sweet and sour cole slaw was quite flavorful with a decidedly vinegar taste. The corn cakes were pretty good but a little overcooked. Our server was indifferent and she visited our table twice during the entire 45 minutes. Center Point only serves RC Cola products so don't bother asking for coke or pepsi. I guess the fact that so many no name country stars have eaten at Center Point may be a selling point but I know that nothing about Center Point BBQ impressed me. Middle Tennesseans must have an aversion to smoke because every BBQ restaurant in the area seems to be lacking in it. Guess I'll have to head to Memphis for the weekend the next time I want good BBQ.

I'm not a BBQ snob. I was excited to try this place out. Nice atmosphere and a great staff but seriously the ribs are nothing to write home about. They were tough and cold. It was disappointing. The sauce was excellent, however.

Sure the name is "Center Point Barbecue", but to me it will always be "3 Little Pigs"! I've been eating here since, well, I can recall going to restaurants with my parents and it is fantastic every time. I love that, in addition to pulled pork, you can't get minced pork (as well as chicken/brisket/ribs/etc.). My favorite is the minced pork on a cornbread patty smothered with a mixture of their "Big Bad Wolf" (thick/sweet) and "Burning Bush" (hot) sauces. While spicy, the "Burning Bush" sauce could definitely use some more heat. The mac and cheese and baked beans are pretty standard, but the white beans and slaw are fantastic! I could easily eat a bowl of those white beans more a meal. Service is friendly and fast. They offer bottles of the sauce for $10/each as well as picnic essentials.

Super impressed with this place! I have visited several times and each time I have been greeted as family. Fantastic BBQ meats, and sauces. Love the smoked chicken wings and ribs. You would never know from the outside, that this place has some of the tastiest smoked BBQ in town.

This is one of those BBQ joints you keep going to over and over until you go to either Shane's or Whitt's. Then you never go back here again. I have to agree with one of the other reviewers. The food often times has this left over taste to it. It's like they throw everything in the microwave when you order it. I do like the three little pigs but it depends on when you order it. Sometime it seems fresh and other times it seems like left-overs. I even had some loser here on yelp harass me because of this exact food review. Lot's of nuts out there.

Worth the time to stop by if you are traveling on I-65. Highly recommend the fried chicken wings appetizer. Pulled porked bbq sandwich was awesome with the sweet bbq sauce. Everyone in our group found something delicious

I had the full rack both days I visited. They use a loin back rack and it was very, very meaty and well smoked. The rub was a little bland for my taste but they were very, very good otherwise. Great bark, I had to bite it off the bone and it was juicy. Really good rack. Slaw was just OK and the BBQ beans were good. Really friendly crew with good service.

The best word for Center Point is "consistent". Whitts can be good but some days you may get great stuff and something warmed over the next. And, in fairness, CP's smokers don't run full time either but they go to great extremes to keep the smoked product hot, moist, and fresh. There are as many different taste as there are styles and methods for barbecue. CP has gone to extremes to perfect their version and maintain a consistent product. The secret of finishing off a barbecue is the sauce and CP has several to meet different taste. They are all made in house with much care. Take something as simple as vinegar coleslaw (which I do NOT like). CP has used the same supplier for the vinegar for years. And still test each shipment for quality and acidity before it goes into the mix. CP's individual pies are wonderful but my favorite one, the pecan, was not offered for quite a while. Turns out that the pecan orchard that supplied CP was destroyed in a storm and CP would not buy just any nut for the counter. It took time to find the pecan to make a pie of their standards. The crowd speaks volumes about the quality. The place is small and can fill up fast. Service is never slow but if your lucky, you'll have enough time to browse the photographs on the wall or meet the owner. There is enough pig trivia there to keep you rooting around while your order is served up. If your really lucky, you'll catch a bag of their fresh made pork rinds but those don't last long.

Wow, this is great Pit BBQ!!! Center Point has been the place to go for both the famous and not so famous as far back as the 1970's. I recommend the "three little pigs" to start and a Chess Pie tart to finish. Don't forget to ask how to get a celebratory "ring of the bell" as you check out.

The mac n cheese was good and cheesy. The chicken breast was moist and tender with good flavor. The bbq, ribs, and brisket were all good but nothing that stood out among the many bbq places in Tn.

The portions are way too small for the price and the ribs tasted like they accidentally dumped a whole bottle of smoke flavor on them. Was that intentional? Eww. They were dry and the sides were not seasoned at all. Is half a bottle of vinegar in the sauce a thing here?

Really good BBQ had brisket and pulled pork. Both were really well done. The red coleslaw was a great rendition the I might try to replicate at home.

Awesome BBQ. Many sauces to choose from. Slaw was a little soupie for my taste, but still excellent

A decent place. The owner is awesome. The fried green tomatoes were a highlight. Ken said the ribs were not as good as his wife's ribs.

6 bbq joints in four days... yes- I am carrying a meat baby. ...

Sometimes simple is better. Good food, good price. I have never had any complaints. While it might not be the best out there, it's still darn good. Try the smoked wings, by far my favorite thing on the menu.
