I had lunch today and was okay with the food. Way overpriced for a small cheeseburger

the employees were super friendly and helpful. The place was clean and cute. The food was just ok . Best thing about my burger was the bacon. Probably wont go back.

They listened! Went back today to give the Apollo Burger another shot and it was great. They started slicing the pastrami much thinner and it makes all the difference. I also noticed the management is walking the store asking for input. If you haven't been here give them a shot I think they have the kinks worked out.

The first time we tried this place was shortly after their grand opening. I thought I had written a review, but I guess I didn't. My wife & I returned here yesterday to use our LivingSocial deal. At our first visit, the place was packed due to it be shortly after the grand opening. We waited a LONG time for our food, but we were okay with it since we expected some kinks needed to be worked out. Our food was hot, and the burgers were good. I remember really liking the soft buns. I remember there wasn't anything special about the fries. We thought we'd probably try this place again after things died down some. This time, we dined in on a Sunday evening. There were only people at 3 other tables this time. I tried a different burger (Western Bacon), and my wife opted for the fried zucchini instead of fries with her burger. If i had to guess, we probably waited 10-12 minutes for our food, which we didn't mind. At least, we knew it was going to be fresh. Coincidentally, the Coke was out again this time, as well as during our first visit. Again, our food was hot when we received it. The burgers were still good, and the fries were the same - definitely pre-frozen & lacking seasoning. My wife said the zucchini was pre-frozen, too, but it wasn't horrible. I read the other reviews, and I'm surprised to hear so many people compare this place to McDonald's. How?? Don't get me wrong, yes, there is clearly room for improvement here, but the burgers definitely do not stoop to McDonald's level. Even if our food had been cold, as some other people mentioned, the flavor alone is better than McDonald's. Now, for the price you pay (around $10 for a combo), yes, it should definitely be better. The size of the meat patty easily needs to be bigger for the price. The fries NEED seasoning and more flavor. They're bland. If you look at what you get for the price, yes, there are much better burgers & fries out there, but it's not horrible. After reading all of the reviews, seeing business decline here, noticing that it appears breakfast is being offered only to try & revive business, the future for this place doesn't look too good. I think that once Five Guys opens, this place will go under, if not before.

I had some trepidation about visiting a place called Apollo's on Woden's Day, but it turned out to be an auspicious endeavor. They have some very interesting sandwiches on their menu, but their website doesn't actually describe their sandwiches. They lose points for that. My vegetarian daughter was delighted that she actually had some choices, and really enjoyed her veggie burger. I was in the mood for something different, so I chose the Athenian burger. It was very good, and it was different. Instead of tomato, it had sweet pepper, and I really enjoyed it. My wife's Gyro was also delicious. They did not have much of a selection of beers, but then, most burger joints don't have any beers. Their Goose Island IPA is in no danger of becoming my favorite brew, but it was tasty enough and went well with my burger. All-in-all, we enjoyed ourselves, and we'll be going back.

Kind of shocked by all the bad reviews. My hubby and I came here tonight for the first time. We're always eager to try new restaurants and Apollo Burger just opened for business a few days ago. The restaurant looks nice and the decor is clean and modern. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger and my hubby got the YBW burger. We each made ours a combo with a side and a drink. I paid $1.50 extra for a "premium side" (fried zucchini) and the total was $22. A little steep for a "fast food" type experience, but the food was really good. Both of our burgers were flavorful. The fried zucchini was really awesome! No issues with cold food like others have indicated. Everything we were served was hot. Appreciated that someone came by to check on us, ask if we needed any sauces or refills, and explained that we leave the trays on the table when we're done. We'll be back. Welcome to the neighborhood!

Had a great experience here today for lunch with a coworker. I opted for the veggie burger, and it was delicious. Friendly and attentive service. Very clean everything. When we were finished, a gentleman (perhaps a manager) came around and asked us how we enjoyed our food and cleared away our mess. I'll be back!

I really do not understand the bad reviews at all. This is the best burger in Hendersonville. They are delicious! The buns are so tasty and the burgers super juicy. Great value for such high quality. French fries and sweet potato fries are a must. My husband and I have tried several of their burgers and none have disappointed. I'd give it 5 stars but the atmosphere is a bit .. Boring. Otherwise great food and good service.

Several other reviews have compared their burgers to McDonald's...McDonald's on their worst day is 100x better than the Bacon Cheeseburger I just ate at Apollo Burger. The meat patty was burnt on one side and practically raw on the other. The sauce on it was the only thing you could taste. The bun was soggy for some strange reason. For a $6.00 burger, one one think you'd actually be able to taste some part of the burger itself. I upped for the 'combo' fries and drink. The fries did have some taste, mostly fry oil, but there was some taste. The drink cup was just about the smallest size I've ever seen any restaurant give a customer. Needless to say, I'll take my $10.00 someplace else the next time I am going to get another burger, fries, and drink.

Quality of the burger and toppings I ordered was okay. Their french fries are a weak item. Some may like them some may not but I don't. It would be really nice to have fresh hand-cut fries in a place like this so they can differentiate themselves If they are going to charge these prices. The worst part of the restaurant is the imitation iced tea called 'gold peak' - it's the worst I've ever had. It comes in concentrate from a machine instead of being freshly brewed on-site. Yuck. A place with no fresh iced tea will never get me back in again. Beware that prices are much higher than comparable places.

Repulsive. I can't speak to the burgers, but today I ordered something that certainly sounded delicious, a grilled chicken breast with feta cheese and spinach sandwich. Imagine my surprise when the sandwich came and this alleged 'chicken breast' was some ground up overly salty flat patty, like a chicken McNugget without the breading. Overprocessed and none of the texture of a real chicken breast at all. That was gross enough, but then to add to the horror, the feta cheese and the spinach were not ON the sandwich, they were ground up and included IN the god-awful alleged chicken patty burger thing. Flecks of green (spinach!) in the chicken loaf thing. *shudder* , When someone orders a grilled chicken breast, I think they have every expectation that it is going to be a solid piece of actual chicken breast and not some unholy chicken loaf thing. If I wanted my spinach pre-digested, I'd get a jar of baby food. The fries were okay, the staff was fine, the place was clean... but I will never set foot in this place again.

First the good... the burgers look really good. The bad is they taste pretty awful. If you like McDonalds you might be happy. Food was also cold, not room temp cold. Cold.

Neat concept, but WAAAY overpriced for what you get. I'll go to Red Robin next time. More for your money. Plus the burger has very little flavor. Bun is weird, and bbq sauce is tame. No oomph! Too bad.

First time at this place was around December.. It was overly priced, and the food quality seemed equivalent to Burger King. I had my second experience at this place VERY recent, and I could not wait to type the review on it. I always wondered why there were no cars in the parking lot of this establishment, being in a good area of the city. Then on this recent trip there, I asked for the simplest of orders... Aaaaaand they messed it up so badly. They charged me incorrectly, did not make my order anywhere near what I had asked for, then had the audacity to try to charge me $2 for some slices of avocado after all the mishap.. Wtf! Refused to pay for it, and left with better understanding WHY no one makes the smart choice to eat there. Don't waste your time, there are way better choices near the 386. Only giving this place a 1 star because the parking was convenient.

The fries were good! Unfortunately it stops there. The food quality of the burgers is a joke. My son made me take him to McDonalds after Apollo because he refused to eat his burger. Jumbo and Delicious and Sax Deli put this place to shame. Will never go back.

Step into a streamlined modern oasis with simple burgers and local ale. Add a local draft to your combo check, attentive authentic service check and a boating menu. Salads, burgers, sides and milkshakes bring the Indian Lake crowds in daily. You can even get your burger rare, score! The atmosphere plays country favorites. The fries do not match the experience and should be seasoned or waffle. Overall rocking spot!

Well I went. Thought I should try it. It was average. I will say this, they where fast. Like fast as in I ordered sat down and she brought me my burger (within 3 minutes). That screams PRE COOKED. And it was. I had the signature Apollo burger. It comes with pastrami. Very good combo. Burger was good but cold. Way over done and had the "been sitting there a while" taste. That explains why she brought it out as soon as I ordered. Not a lot of burger for $9.00. Lots of bread. Overall I supose if you don't want Burger King or McDonald's and want to spend more money for a average burger this your place. High note staff was super nice and explained all the different burgers to me. Would have rated it higher but it didn't excite me much and didn't like the precooked taste.

I've been here several times. Great atmosphere and great food. Very friendly staff and managers, and I really appreciate their kindness and attentiveness. I love being able to go somewhere to get a burger that is quick and not a fast food restaurant. Very classy and upscale design, and kept very clean. I usually get the regular cheeseburger and fries, but have had friends try some of the other burgers and they loved them!

This place is GROSS!! I liked there sweet potatoes fries when warm. They gave us cold fries and cold burgers!!! The second time they gave us one pack of hot sweet potato fries and one cold normal... I DO NOT recommend this place... It looks good! But DO NOT judge a book by its cover !

If you enjoy waiting 20 minutes for a McDonalds quarter pounder, but want to pay 3x as much.. this place is for you! Seriously, for the same price you can get a better tasting burger that's twice as big at Red Robin, Applebee's, Chilis, etc. And probably not have to wait as long as I did at Apollo

  • Russell M.

So my wife hyped this place up since she had it for lunch one day. I definitely like a good burger. So we ordered and she got the fried mushrooms. We wasted money on that, the things on the burger was good but the meat itself was dissappointing. Thin, tasteless, and overcooked. Will not go there again.

I feel the need to start off by saying to not let the negative reviews sway you from trying this place out. It is very very (very very very very very) easy to write a negative review completely trashing a place and trying to be funny. I don't know what motivated these one-star princes to drool out their drivel with such vitriol, but they aren't interesting, informative, funny, cool, helpful, or useful in any way. Ok, sorry about that. Here's the review. I've been to Apollo Burger no more than 10 times (no less than 5) and have had a BLT, a couple of burgers, and fries from their medium-sized menu so this review will focus only on those items and my overall experiences. The burgers are very consistent and very good. I typically get mine with lettuce, tomato, bacon, and sauce on the side. The meat is cooked very well, the bacon is real bacon (and big, thick slices), and the cheese is...cheese. I appreciate Apollo Burger for being one of the few places I've been to around Nashville that doesn't put nasty shredded lettuce on their burgers. The tomatoes are decent and the "secret sauce" is probably almost exactly what you're picturing in your head. The BLT was good, but very small. Very small. When it came out I was thought it was like, an appetizer BLT to eat before the real BLT came out. I already talked about the ingredients in the last paragraph so, uh, go check up there if you want. For how small it was, it should have been a bit cheaper. The fries, I have a feeling, could strike a chord with some people. They're pretty thick, and quite soft overall with a tiny bit of crunch/crispiness on the outside. I tend to be an equal opportunity consumer of french fries so they're cool with me, but my wife only recognizes very crispy french fries as true heirs to the tuberous throne so she is not down with them at all. I enjoy dipping them in the "secret sauce". The thing about Apollo Burger is that they cook your food to order and have a tendency to get backed up in the kitchen pretty quickly. That can cause a wait time much longer than one would expect at a restaurant like this (they exist in the ever growing locus somewhere between being a fast food and a sit-down/full service restaurant). I'd like to see them work on that. The upside, though, of cooking to order is that your food will be fresh and hot when it does arrive. The employees have always been very cheerful, knowledgeable about the menu, and happy to help if you have any questions. Overall I think that Apollo Burger is a good restaurant, but a bit slow, and a little overpriced. I'd really like to be able to get out of there at lunch time (burger, fries, and drink) for closer to $9 as opposed to $12. If they could make that happen, I would eat there more often.

i may not be a connoisseur when it comes to burger making but i wish the fries and zucchini strips were not pre-frozen. my 4 year old son was complaining about how the bread seemed to be too stale and sure it was. The food needs to be improved a lot more if they want to survive once five guys comes out...

Giving this restaurant 2 stars is generous. I was quite disappointed in the price and quality. Chili's has a much better cheeseburger for about the same price. The quality of the beef was in question, I'm my opinion. I doubt this establishment will survive in this location. Too many better and cost appropriate choices.

One word.....underwhelmed. Burger was cold....even the cheese wouldn't melt. They brag about the special sauce they make themselves....they should just buy it from someone who knows what they're doing. I won't waste my money there again. What a shame.....sad.

Excited to try this new, nice looking burger place in town and finally got a chance eat there - very disappointed. It's it set up as a fast food restaurant, but they charge like a high end operation. Missed the mark by a mile. The burger was expensive, side were severely overpriced. Fries were boring, ordinary and weren't very fresh. The bright spots would be the fried zucchini and the ghost pepper cheese. I will stop at Red Robin next time for better service, better food and better value.
