Score one for Yelp again... 2000 total miles on our trip and this was one of the 2 gems we found. Off the road to this stand alone place and it was full for lunch... a variety of people too. The food here has serious flavor... my only complaint was that hot pepper is not added during cooking, but after. Food was fresh and tasty... reasonable prices and didn't take super long for a lunch crowd. don't let the outside food ya, it's better inside. I had the Tom Kha and Chicken Laab while he had some Pad Thai and house soup. We both left satisfied and thought it was a great find!

Consistency. That's what I like about this place. Have been coming here for a few months now, and the food has the same consistency. My wife and I really enjoy the Summer Rolls. It's one of our favorite. But there is no way you can beat the lunch combo! Price and amount is perfect. Only make sure you order ahead, the lunch hour rush can be intense. However worth the wait. I have tried most of the menu substituting for tofu.

Interior is... uniquely decorated lol. But good prices and good food.

I tend to prefer the Nashville location, but this one is also great. The Rama is my favorite, great peanut butter sauce, your choice of meat, and a bed of cabbage! I wish the Native Thai spice level was a little spicier, but you can always ad some more spice yourself. The atmosphere is a little lacking, something that can be said of both locations, but that certainly does not make the food un-tastey. Think this location is in an old Wendys or Mrs Winners or something.

The best curry you've ever had, trust me!!!!!!!!!!! Great service, kid friendly too. I recommend the green curry, so creamy! If you don't like spicy do a 1 star spicy order!!!!! Their 1-5 spicy rating is super spicy, the 3 is more like a 5 to me!!!!!

Best Thai food in Nashville. I & II are both great!

This is my favorite place to get any kind of curry! My top 3 favorites are red, green, and panang curries all with chicken and 4 stars for heat. The egg rolls and larp gai and also excellent!

First let me say that I love authentic Thai food and this place is where to get it!!! Yes it is a must stop if you want great food. I eat out all the time, but drive at least an hour each way just to eat this Thai food here! I recommend this to any one that wants great flavor and fresh Thai authentic food. Everything is wonderful, service is good and place is clean. This is a very busy place during the lunch hours but they do a great job getting everyone served. This place stays but I can see why, I would wait for the food any day. They have a great menu and can recommend things for children (chicken on a stick) is a good food there for children. I know that some people may have different views and that's alright, as I have been a regular for two years straight at least once if not twice a week. I welcome anyone that wants great authentic Thai food with great flavor to try this place, I am sure you will leave happy. The servers are wonderful and very nice.

Saw a review on the green curry. Had to try it! Got the tilapia green curry special. It was absolutely incredible! Truly best we've ever had (my sister and I who love Thai). I will be back next time I head to Nashville. We also got the spring rolls and peanut sauce which my sister could have drank straight. Efficient server. Five stars.

Super super good, though not 100% as good as Woodward St location downtown. The summer rolls w/shrimp could be light meal on their own. The Tom Kha soup w/chicken is EXCELLENT. Oddly enough the Thai tea at Rivergate location does not measure up, they over brew or something. I have ordered to-go from here handful of times and for whatever reason felt it was on pricier side for takeout...don't know if portions are different or presentation is missing but food still very good.

Best Thai in all of Nashville! And it is sooo much better than the other Thai Phooket location. the service here is always amazing, the food is prepared better (because they are no constantly slammed like the downtown location). The drunken noodles, spicy mango basil, any of the curries, and pad kra poa are my personal favorites!

  • James D.

Awesome thai. No sticky rice, though. But, if you can overcome that, best thai in Madison!

  • Courtney G.

My first time here I ordered the beef basil and egg rolls to go. It was almost enough for two. My husband didn't like all the veggies but I loved it. The man who took my order wasn't very friendly but the woman helping was. Besides that and the older look of the place I give it five stars for the food :-)

Good Thai food, and a few other south east Asian offerings. Tasty shui mia, good steamed dumpling. Tom Kai is full flavored. Pad Thai is rich and tangy. I will often ask for additional toppings especially when ordering take out. They could be a little more generous with the crushed peanut, bean sprouts, and cilantro. I enjoyed the soft shell crab app, but it was kinda pricy for the portion size. The currys are excellent. Try the green papaya salad. I would eat there more often if the prices were a little more affordable. The staff is friendly and helpful, but some times you need to be assertive with them if you are ordering take out.

I absolutely love this place. I'm addicted to the Green Curry here. I've yet to find a better Green Curry anywhere actually. Other faves are Drunken Noodles, Pad Thai, Pad Kra Prao (stir fry in basil sauce) Summer Rolls and too many others to list. Thai iced tea is great too. I've seen a few negative reviews about service recently. I've never had an experience like that and have been eating here for the last few years both dining in and take out. Staff has always been friendly and service really fast (especially take out). I will say the last few times I've ordered they have been busier than usual. I think people in the area are starting to find out how good the food is.

When I first heard that Thai Phooket had a second restaurant I was thrilled. When I drove past the Rivergate location, I didn't realize they were open because there weren't many cars in the parking lot. Several co-workers ended up informing me that it was open for business. While other eateries in the area have at least 5-10 cars/ 10-20 customers throughout the day, there have been times where me and my party are the only people there. In general, they serve what many other Asian restaurants serve: Fried rice, sweet and sour chicken, egg rolls, etc. These items will run you on average between $10- $13 per meal. However, they also serve different soups and curry dishes which I'd never had before going to the Thai Phooket. Those are also tasty and reasonably priced. There are more exotic dishes that are pretty pricey: They have fish and duck specials that start at $15. Most people, I've noticed, order to-go. My last visit there explained why that is. I went to the Rivergate location with a friend during his lunch break. He got there first and ordered drinks. My drink wasn't delivered until 10 minutes after I arrived. The server stated that she didn't see me, even though there were only two other customers besides myself. Anyway, I put my order in and 45 minutes passed. I'd asked well before then where my food was, and they'd said that they were preparing it. At the 45 minute mark, I got up and asked for the third or fourth time "where is my food?" I was informed that they hadn't gotten to it yet! They make everything to order, first-come, first-serve. Meaning, whether you come in and dine or call in, you're queued the same. I don't know if this depends on the hour of the day, but at the time I was struck dumb. I was there for almost an hour only to be told that my food wouldn't be done until 30min. later! I grabbed my money, left, and haven't been back since.

Excellent Thai food and service and this location. Their summer rolls are great to start with (make sure you ask for their hot sauce and pepper tray of you like spice) When ordering food they ask you for a spice level you would like on your food 1 being minimum and 5 being the hottest(native Thai). I really like hot food and to me their level 5 is not hot at all however with the ht sauce you get at the table you can definitely kick it up. Their pad Thai is excellent and their curries are also very good. Overall for the area this is one of the better local restaurants around. Give them a try is you are in the mood for something different

Today i went for the lunch special with Red Curry Chicken & Thai Tea. I have been here several times in the last month and alway have a time deciding between the Drunken Noodles, Pad Thai or the Curry all are excellent here. I like the red curry with a bit of heat, though I have not yet tried the native level of heat...but I might go for that next time. Thai Curry done right has a refreshing balance of the heat to get the blood moving and the herbs that add the brightness, unique to most any other food type. While I did not get it this time, I usually order the Summer Roll for an appetizer - light & fresh! I have been to 3 different Thai restaurants in the Nashville area and this one is by far my favorite.

This is my favorite Thai place! I highly recommend their Drunken Noodles. Delicious!!

This little gem located in the old Pizza Hut location at Gallatin Rd and Rivergate pkwy in Madison has the best Thai I've tried in Nashville thus far. Awesome spring rolls, papaya salad, and the spicy beef salad (Tiger Tear) is my favorite thing on the menu. The Tom Kha and Tom Yum are good. I can't remember what it was called but the whole fried fish with fresh cold veggies rocks. If you have room left after the meal the sticky rice with mango is absolutely delish. The rice is not overly sweet and the mango adds such a bright flavor that cuts through the richness of the sticky rice. They have several American style Chinese offerings and Vietnamese dishes as well but I have not tried them. They look good from afar though.

The food is decent. I had a green curry and it was well made. The service, however was very poor and ambiance terrible (TV screens and pop music). There were flies buzzing around. Also, when we paid, the waitress came to clean up and proceeded to scrape everyone's food scraps into my soup bowl on the table. Pretty disgusting.

Good lunch special as well as most Thai restaurant in Nashville. Their stir fry and noodle dishes are pretty good. Their curry dishes were a failure. It is very watery, coconut milk taste are nonexistent. The curry flavor are not there. They are not remotely close to being authentic.

    (3)
  • Ryan B.

If you aren't looking for ambiance, this is THE place for THAI in Nashville. Both locations are similarly suited for a great meal. Interestingly (to me), my favorite Chinese in Nashville is just around the corner at China Cottage. Rivergate is not a culinary destination, but these two are great choices for Asian food.

Very casual setting and food is excellent. Love the Basil dish and Thai fried rice. Great lunch deal with soup.

  • Andi D.

Still love this place. I usually get take-out, but the table service is great too. The peanut sauce that comes with the summer rolls is AMAZING. They've always been very accommodating to requests, and the food has never been anything less than delicious. The portions are great, I usually have leftovers for the next day.

  • Grant C.

Eaten at this location and one on Woodland St downtown on numerous occasions. Food is ALWAYS great. If it's not to your liking, they will fix it. I like my Thai food mild. I indicated such on one occasion. They brought out medium. They gladly exchanged my plate. Price is okay. Service has a tendency to lag towards the end. But overall, it must be good to me because I keep going back.

My wife and I come eat lunch here two to four times a month. The food is great, large portions, reasonably priced, and the staff is friendly. Side note, my favorite dish is the Lemongrass Chicken.

My hubby got the Tom Yum soup and loved it!! I ordered the Pad Kee Mao (drunken noodle) and it was delicious!

  • Kristen D.

Excellent red, green and parang curry. This place has authentic Thai. The pad Thai is great along with their soups. I love the food here , it is fresh and delicious. The only complaint is the the atmosphere could use some improvement. Service can be hot or miss when they are busy.... Sometimes they don't have enough servers. Best Thai around.

  • Rennolds O.

I've been to Thailand many times and eaten Thai food in the biggest cities in the US. I'd put the food here up against any I've eaten. The Tom Kha soup was probably the second best I've ever had. The Panang curry was as good as any I've ever had. I can assure you that the flavors you get here are authentic and delightful. Being from out of town I will have to invent excuses to get back to Goodletsville in order to eat here again!

  • Justin M.

When I moved to Nashville a couple years ago I started asking around for good Thai and Vietnamese restaurants. Everyone kept telling me this place was worth the drive from Donnellson to Goodlettsville. I had to go up there for some training so I figured I would finally heed their advice . Just so you know. It's totally worth the drive. The food was stupendous and it also met my thai litmus test of looks. I firmly believe that if it isn't a sort of a dive then it's probably not going to be a very good Thai restaraunt. Still a mystery as to why but experience has shown that this is true across the US. Anyways, I had the Crab Delight app and Chicken curry entree and it was phenomenal. The appetizer came with 6 so I took some home for a snack later which tasted just as good the second time. Be aware that they definitely take their heat levels seriously. My tolerance for hot food is quite high and I really enjoy it. I got hot (middle of the road), not Thai hot, and it was quite spicy but tasted fantastic.

The Tom Kha soup is delicious! I want to go again today and get more! The house soup is also very good. You can order at the counter for to go or sit at a table and order from a server. They have lots of windows and the decor is standard, although they were playing current music. I can't wait to go back and try their curries or pad Thai.

  • Brian H.

First off, the good: the food has always been delicious (a solid 4-4.5) and I have tried different items on each visit. Now, the bad: service (at lunch) is terrible beyond belief. Piles of dirty dishes sit on empty tables. Ordered items are forgotten. Tables that arrive after you are seated are served while you are still waiting patiently just to see a menu. Meals are delivered, and you are not checked on until you are ready to leave (if at all). Drinks are not refilled. Patrons sit staring at meals with no utensils with which to eat. Could not even get my check after waiting nearly 15 minutes - had to just leave cash on the table (and I was not the only one). If you have two hours for lunch and enjoy being neglected, this may be the spot for you. This was the third strike for me. What a difference one additional (properly trained) server could make...

Love this place! Very vegan friendly and the portions are huge.

  • Mandy P.

I love Thai food with a vengence, especially "native Thai" flavored (spicy). I would give this 5 stars, but I still think Siam's Cafe downtown is a few steps ahead of this place. However, the food here is still VERY, VERY good. And it's closer than downtown to me so I will be eating here frequently. I especially recommend the Thai fried rice. I hate to go somewhere special to order something so not unique, but this is by far THE BEST EVER made fried rice. The flavor is crazy amazing. Love, love, love.

I get the red curry with tofu almost every week!

  • Garth E.

I have been a regular here for almost a year now and have to say that they are slipping - both in service and food. The soup has been cold on my last 4 visits now, but the main dishes remain up to standard. If you happen to get the female server with the tattoos and hickey on her neck you will certainly have a bad service experience. I have witnessed this fact several times now. Two people around me had to ask her for silverware. Today she wrote my order wrong and allowed me to sit there for almost 20 minutes before I asked about the status. So, it's still good Thai but your mileage may vary.

In the 10 years that I have been married, my wife had only gone with me to Thai food maybe 5 times until I took her to Thai Phooket 2. Great food, super nice people, divey former Mrs Winners location - what could be better? As Kosher heads, we both love the fact that every dish can be made vegetarian with just vegetables or with tofu. My kids adore their fried tofu, and the Thai version of duck sauce they serve it with is yummy. I heartily reccomend the Tom Kha (coconut milk soup). It is truly wonderful. Their Pad Thai is not the best I have ever had, but it is certainly good, but their Penang Curry is the best I have had since I was in Penang (which interestingly enough is actually in Malaysia). As there are no other choices in the Madison/Rivergate/Hendersonville area, it certainly wins the 'best in category', but I would give it 5 stars even against toughter competition.

Can't go a full 5 stars simply because I'm not Thai expert but, WOW. I did come here on the recommendation of a friend that spends about 6 weeks in Thailand each year and loves the food over there. But this was a totally new adventure for us. Started with the orders of egg rolls, summer rolls, and (Tom Kha) coconut soup. We were given plenty of time to savor and share the three before the entrees. I had 511 Pad Kra Prao - Thai stir fry with fresh basil, onion, carrots, mushrooms, green beans, bell peppers, and bamboo shoot with your choice of meat. At a #3 heat level. The kind server brought me some peppers to bump it up to 4. My dinner partner had 613 Pad Se-ew (Soy Sauce Noodles) Stir fried wide rice noodles in soy sauce with egg, broccoli, and carrots with your choice of meat. As mild as they make. My second partner at the table had 513, Garlic Stir Fry with beef, garlic sauce, fresh crushed garlic and fresh grounded black pepper served over steamed vegetables, also mild. The beef and chicken were both moist and the jasmine rice was just right for us. We polished off the dinner with some mango Ice-cream. This stuff was fantastic. The staff was friendly and VERY helpful to this newby Thai customer. (Her eyes did get rather large when I asked for hot and said the # 3 heat level was not beyond me). There is a ton of stuff I need to go back and try. I plan to be back very soon and maybe even take a shot at #5 (Real Thai heat).

This is one of my favorite places to eat! It is very authentic Thai food. Staff is friendly, service is great, portions are generous. I like spicy! I usually get the medium level Red Curry Chicken or the Pad Thai. I have tried other things, and they have been good as well. The two I mentioned are my favorite.

First of all, food here wasn't bad. However, the customer service leaves MUCH to be desired and I do not want to support a business where this is tolerated. I work hard for my money and there are other, more deserving eateries around that I would love to support. I went there with my girlfriend last night for the first (and probably last) time. There is no signage saying to seat yourself, there was no hostess on duty, and none of the many waiters/waitresses/staff said anything about seating protocol, etc. The ladies behind the cash register beckoned us over and were nice enough at first. We ordered an appetizer combo, and a beer each. I ordered the Sesame Chicken and my girlfriend ordered the Pad Thai. The girl behind the counter then asked if we wanted to sit, we chose a corner table by the window. She brought our beers to us with chilled glasses, fine. The trouble starts 10-15 minutes later when she came by and said "your food is ready." We looked at her and each other quizzically and my girlfriend said "Oh, ok, well do we need to get up and get it or can you bring it to us?" The girl said "Whichever." She brought us our food in to go boxes. We looked at her like "ok..." and asked if we could please eat here. THEN she told us, "Oh when you order at the counter it's for to go only." Well, thanks for telling us! Finally! Why would we order beer and sit at a table for "to go"? We chose to just take it to go as we hurriedly finished our beers, (the employee didn't seem interseted in unboxing it and plating it for us) and headed to the car. When we got to the car, we realized that they had forgotten our appetizer although they had charged us for it. Exasperated, my girlfriend went back in and explained the situation to them, she also, explained that their lack of signage or explanation as far as the "ordering/seating system" was misleading and confusing. They offered no real apology and there was no language barrier or anything, so I mark this down as just sorry customer service. I will not be back. I don't care how good the food is.

Ate there on Sunday the 16 th of February ,and the service was not too good. They had one waitress waiting on everybody. The food was not hot,and had to send it back 2 times to get it hot. The best Thai food is located on white bridge road ,the Golden Thai . I have never had a bad experience there. Next time I'll drive a little further.

Wow, just happened to be at the bank across the street and was hungry for lunch. Walked in to see an old fast food restaurant turned into a sit down Thai spot. Nothing fancy but the food was excellent. Pleasant staff, reasonable prices and great tasting food. Will be back soon and often. I see it as mainly a lunch or weekday dinner location.

What a nice place for a quick Thai fix! I had garlic stir fry (asked for and got it "extra hot"- four chili peppers) and it was very good! Wife got drunken noodles with shrimp and she loved it. Will definitely come again.

I don't even know where to start. First of all, I put on makeup and fixed my hair to go to dinner. That doesn't happen very often. We walked in and nobody told us where to be seated so we walked up to the counter to order. There weren't any other indications that we should do otherwise. We ordered a beer and they told us we could go sit at a table. About ten minutes later the waitress comes to our table and told us our food was ready. She told us we could go get it. When we both looked at each other quizzically she said "I can bring it to you if you want,", so we were like "Yeah, uh....please?". She brought it to us in to-go boxes and told us that because we ordered at the counter we were placing a to-go order! We made it clear that that wasn't what we intended. She asked if she wanted her to plate it but we were both so pissed we just wanted leave. When I got to the car I realized they forgot our appetizer! When I went back to raise hell she was all "Oh yeah you did! I didn't charge you for that..." She then proceeded to charge me for it, and like an idiot, I paid for it. I was livid, and I let her know as much. That being said, we brought the food home, and it was SPECTACULAR ,perhaps the best Thai food I've ever had, which makes me even more angry. I can't bring myself to give it the five it deserves simply because of the experience.

Sooooo happy to finally have Thai food close by! I've been a few times to try different entrees and have enjoyed most of them. The lunch entrees come with a house soup (vegetable tofu-very brothy but ok) and an egg roll (vegetarian and yummy!) and of course rice. You can substitute their Tom Yum for the house soup but there is an additional charge of $1.50 I think it was. The Pad Kra Prao (Basil) and Massamun were both good. Didn't care much for the Rama (peanut sauce). I made the mistake the first 2 times and ordered my food medium. Not spicy whatsoever. The next time I ordered it hot and it had a little spice but not too much. I'm not sure about ordering Thai hot (that would be crazy hot in most Thai restaurants!) but may give it a try the next time since I would like it a little bit spicier. They do have a tray of pickled hot peppers and a chili sauce that they can bring you to spice up your food on your own. Not sure if they are just working on their timing since they are new or if it is normal, but the first time I went I got the soup and then immediately the entree as well. Second time there was just a little bit of time to eat the soup before getting my entree and egg roll but third time I received the entree immediately after the soup again. I'll definitely be back and try some of the other curries on the menu. They have been fairly busy the times that I went there so hopefully they're in the area to stay!

Love this place. I eat here for lunch at least every few weeks. The service is excellent and the food is great. I have tries probably half the items on the lunch menu and have not found something that I didn't like yet. If you like Thai food, give this place a try.

Very good green chicken curry and moderately good Pad Thai with chicken. Very clean and adorable atmosphere with good music and well put together menu. Best Thai experience I have had in the Nashville area.
