My husband & I ate last evening at The Park Grill, walked in & our beloved Cardinal's were on the TV at the bar SO, ate dinner & watched the game.. Jim had the BBQ ribs, he said very good, my filet was perfect, salad bar had lots of stuff to choose from & great options for sides !! OK wine by the glass . The staff were very friendly, guy at the bar said he had worked there for years. We would return & may since that's where we can watch the ball game on TV It's our first trip to Gatlinburg & so far we enjoy this area, a bit crowded since its summer. ..

This place is amazing! It's so nice to have found a nice restaurant in Gatlinburg! We ordered the Filet Mignon and New York Strip. They were both cooked to perfection and tasted wonderful. I was very happy that they were willing to cook my filet Extra Rare as a lot of places won't do that. We also had the spinach and artichoke dip which was honestly the best dip I've had in my life. While kind of pricey, It is probably the best dining experience you can have in Gatlinburg! My only real complaint is the silver plates they use make it difficult to cut the larger steak portions due to the way it'd molded/sized.

Dinner and drinks for 9 people was super inexpensive - less than $300 (hard to CW by in my home state). Casual restaurant with decent food and ambience in the heart of Gatlinburg. Salad bar was impressive given it included smoked oysters - yummy! The servers were friendly and efficient. Downside is no reservations allowed and your party can't be seated until all arrive. Decent steak options and taste - tender, juicy, and moist. There was so much food we couldn't make it to dessert! Perhaps next time.

The salad bar was exceptional with smoked oysters and excellent dressings. My wife's trout was cooked to perfection and my prime rib sandwich was tender and juicy. The onion rings were hot and crispy. Leave room for the dessert sampler!.

Been here before and had no problems. This visit was not so good. Had a party of 6 come in. The waitress failed to let one of my guest know how they cook the salmon here. Medium well. When she came back to the table she told my guest that she notified him of how they cooked it in front of the manager.. we had 6 witnesses here that did not hear her say anything about it. She was being dishonest. It came back raw. Watery. Cool to the touch. Got the manager and notified her. It came back raw once again. It should have never made it to our table if the manager did her job, which she did not. She told us the salmon would be cooked correctly. WRONG. The guys sitting behind us had their hamburgers sent back as they were also very rare when they ordered theirs well done. Will I be back? Would I recommend? I think the cook needs to be replaced along with management. Then I would recommend it and be back. Until then, I wont be back. My guest was embarrassed and upset. This should have NEVER happened. Do Not order the Salmon unless you like it raw.

The prices are a little on the high side for their menu. I found it difficult to decide what I wanted to eat from the menu and was disappointed to learn they don't offer a side salad option or even combo of soup & salad. I would of had to purchase the endless salad bar for $12 and then the cup of soup for $6, no thank you. I settled on the burger and fries. They were both very good, I would order it again. The pickles were good too, nice and thick; tasted homemade.

This is our absolute favorite Restuarant in Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge. The salad bar is so fresh and delicious. The steaks are amazing and the rolls are too. Been to The Park Grille many many times and never been disappointed. Highly recommended!!

From the atmosphere to the dining experience we had nothing bad to say. The service was wonderful and our food was to die for. Will definitely be visiting again next time we are in town.

Nice restaurant with great decor... I ordered Grilled Trout and it was absolutely delicious... Service was pretty good too... I recommend this place...

Pretty good salad bar with a lot of options, but I'm pretty sure the salads and sides on the salad bar aren't even made in house. The rolls were good, but the entrees were lacking in flavor and seemed frozen and heated up. Nice clean place, very airy with Friendly service. But the check was steep for what we got. Would recommend the salad bar but not much else.

It's a lovely, fancy pants log cabin / lodge environment for sure, and one of the higher end places here in Gatlinburg (if "high end" can be considered a place with a salad bar front and center... but, hey, that's the case at Fogo de Chao, so I guess that works.) We were told that there'd be about a 20 minute wait by a rather snooty host boy while we stared at a restaurant that was about 1/5 full. Staff milled around dully without urgency, two or three other groups sat around the entrance, also waiting, while the host and hostess stared inanimately. So, we brushed right past them and sat at the nearly empty bar. I say nearly empty because Susan was at the bar. Susan and her three friends Tamara, Penny and Shawna. They were having wine and girl talk. Loudly. Tamara and Susan are sisters, who have an ornery brother, Scott, who is dating Penny but is still married to someone else. Penny is trying to be patient with him, and declares she's a saint (they all gasp and nod in agreement) although she's already moved in with the separated, but still married brother. Shawna is too drunk to chime in. But that's okay because Susan, the ringleader with pipes loud enough to drown out a church organ can talk enough for all of them - she sees things in black and white, you know, as she always tells her husband Doug. It just is, or it isn't, Doug. He never under stands her... Wait... where was I? I had the Fish & Chips. It was fine. Husband had the Chicken Sandwich with Swiss Cheese. The Swiss was rancid, ruining the sandwich. The bourbon was good. The prices were high. I can't go above two stars here, unfortunately. But I can say that I'd be willing to give them another try next time we're in Gatlinburg and just avoid anything with Swiss cheese on it. After all, the salad bar does look appetizing and maybe next time I'll get the pleasure of finding out from Susan if her brother left his wife to marry his live in mistress, Penny, after all. (*The events here in are true - pertaining to the rancid Swiss cheese, the service and the salad bar. Only the names of the patrons and the exact dialog of their conversation have been changed for their protection. Or that part is completely made up.)

Went on a Saturday night around 6:30 pm. It was not very busy and we were seated immediately. We ordered a couple of drinks and an appetizer which was very good. We then ordered an entrée which we split. Never did the waitress explain about the salad bar and we just kind of figured it out ourselves by watching other customers. The food was very good but our waitress was difficult to find. When she did come around it was as if she had something better to do that we were keeping her from. They have bread with sweet potato butter but we didn't get any until halfway through our entrée when we finally asked the bus boy about it. Their prices were not cheap and for those prices I expect better service. On another note while the tables at the Park Grill never filled up, there was a line out the door down the street at Texas Roadhouse.

Atmosphere nice, clean service excellent by Jaylon! We had smoked shrimp and crab bisque soup and it was nice a little spice just right. Calamari a bit over cooked and Jaylon inquired for us and resolved! Creme Brûlée was good served cold. Overall good quality food excellent service and atmosphere!

Love the new look. Beautiful! The warm yeasty rolls were most delicious. Our waitress was very helpful. I want sure which red wine I wanted, so we tried 5. Finally decided on the Kendall Jackson Pinot Noir. Our waitress noticed our rolls sat a bit, so she wanted to bring us new warm ones. I love this lady. Then she commented how the white moscato wine was her favorite. I said oh I wish I tried that. Well she brought a taste. And wow cool light chilled refreshing for summer. Lived it... And I don't normally like white wine. The filet was PERFECT! Table smacking mouth watering. Yes yes yes!!! One thing I like is how friendly all the workers are. Other servers and the host just so nice. What a pleasant experience.

Typical, tourist type place. Expensive food for what you get but the portions are large. I got a sirloin steak that was 20$ and covered in some sort of sauce. The sauce was tasty but the steak was overcooked (ordered rare-medium rare, got medium to medium well to well). The steak was Meh. The appetizers we ordered (fried green beans and fried mac and cheese) were both very good and reasonably priced. The desserts (blackberry cobbler) were a bit sweet for my taste but were quite large and good as well. The salad bar is massive (I don't much like salad bars but ok, when in Rome...). The salad bar had many options and all were fresh and tasted great. I would eat here again but think I would skip the entree and just get a starter and salad (that would be about 20$). Mixed reviews from the rest of the table. They don't take reservations but did allow call ahead seating. The service was attentive and fast but the main courses were a long delay from the starters. The burgers looked interesting. I would eat here again for a casual meal. They did seat us right in front of the cooking area so that was disappointing since there were plenty of empty tables elsewhere but a minor thing.

The Parkway is a sea of chain restaurants that we can find back home, so finding the Park Grill was a treasure. We arrived on a Saturday evening and only had to wait fifteens minutes for a table. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive, and she paid special care to make sure our drinks never went below halfway empty. The included salad bar was a nice touch, but it was no different than the salad bar at Ruby Tuesdays. (Note: the salad bar has bacon and cheese on it, every meal comes with a salad bar...if you order a baked potato they charge 50 cents for bacon and 50 cents for cheese - save yourself a dollar and get it from the salad bar). My husband enjoyed his steak, and I found my pecan crusted chicken and sweet potato casserole to be delicious. (The menu did not point out that the sweet potato casserole had coconut in the recipe - I happen to love coconut, so this wasn't an issue for me, but I happen to know a few people who are allergic to it or absolutely hate the taste/texture, so just fyi!) If this restaurant was in my hometown, I'd probably give it a 3-3.5 stars, but because of its location and the limited options in the area - this makes Park Grill at Gatlinburg winner.

Great Salad bar!!! We always eat here when we visit pigeon forge or gatlinburg. Love the steaks and the sweet potato casserole is the BEST!

Soooo over priced. Food isn't any better than a Shoney's type place. Won't be back and couldn't recommend it.

Walk in off the strip to a wide open, well decorated in country flare restaurant. We were hungry for appetizers and got the calamari, Trout spread, pretzel bites and shrimp/crab bisque. All yummy......all gone! The wait staff was fast and friendly. Do try the Arnold Palmer, fresh and refreshing! A better choice to try instead of Friday's.

I ordered the ribeye. It had a strong hickory taste and was over cooked. The fries were good. The salad bar was just ok. The service was slow and for all that it was pricey. I would not return.

Pretty good. The salad bar was nice with plenty of options. Everything was fresh. Delicious sweet yeast rolls with butter. The grilled trout was great. Nice and light. Clean and friendly atmosphere. Squash casserole was somewhat disappointing. :(

Probably the best steak I've had so far. This was our last meal here at gatlinburg for our honeymoon and I we had the most amaizing serloin steak and shrimp! Ice tea was also really good! Defenitley will eat here again on our next vacation.

Enjoyed our meal. Nice atmosphere! I had the cherry kabobs with a baked sweet potato. Delish! Hubby had ribs and mashed potatoes. Ribs were very good and tender. Highly recommend!

Not sure what is going on with this place. I have been coming here for 10 years, and over the past 3-4 years this restaurant seems to have lost it identity. Over the past 4 years I think it has been remodeled/ changed at least 4 times. Over the past year they have been changing their menu, and removed my 2 favorite dishes. When I started coming here 10 years ago this was my favorite restaurant in town and would gladly wait 30 minutes or more for a table. Now there is never a wait. If you want return customers you can't keep changing things every 6 months. I wish this place could return to the restaurant I knew it to be 10 years ago. At this point it seems this place gets worse every time I visit. Not sure I will return, too many good places to eat in the area.

Exceptional. Food was over the top good. Highly recommend the Moonshine chicken and horse radish potatoes. Service is excellent also. Our server Melanie was very attentive. When she found out we are on our honeymoon she had a candle sent to the table and the manager gave us a free dessert. I highly recommend this place.

We have been coming a couple times a year since they opened. Have not been the last four years. It's still as good as I remember. Best filet mignon anyplace. They even have the bearnaise back. I have been coming here ever since they opened in 1994 And have always had the filet....consistently awesome every time

Our party of four had a great meal at The Park Grill. We all ordered different things and we all liked what we ordered, including dessert. I didn't have the salad bar, but from what I saw, it's a much larger selection than the average restaurant. The staff was friendly and helpful, with people clearing our empty glasses and dishes even if they were just passing by. It was a comfortable atmosphere. They could probably use a little more parking, but there is some available, at least. I would definitely go again if I had the chance!

Stopped by on a Saturday afternoon while visiting the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. This restaurant was the low point of an otherwise wonderful day. Park Grill spared no expense on decor, the location is great, and our server was prompt and friendly. Half the food, however, was abominable. I was lucky: I opted for the salad bar. Though there were fewer items on the bar to choose from than at the local supermarket's salad bar, most of them were fresh. My dinner roll was good, and so was my iced tea. My companion was not so fortunate. Her fish had been fried earlier in the day then refried when she ordered. She had to remove the batter entirely to make the (frozen, not fresh) fish tolerable. The slaw she ordered as a side was bottled rather than made by the restaurant, and it tasted old, as if it was going bad. We will never return, and strongly caution against choosing the Park Grill.

Hands down the best trout I have ever had in my entire life! Unbelievable service. Awesome salad bar. Great for families. Desert was to die for. Did I mention great service? Second time here and both times were 5 stars...best restaurant in Gatlinburg for sure!

Absolutely fabulous! The salad bar is big with a great variety. The steaks are cooked perfectly and great flavor. We just left NYC on vacation and this is the best meal we've had on vacation.

We had a reservation for a large group last weekend. We were promptly seated, but our server seemed annoyed at every turn. We are a pretty friendly group of people and not demanding, so I am not sure if he was just having a bad day or if we did something that he didn't like. Food was good. Salad bar was large and well-stocked. The service could have been more friendly.

  • Kevin B.

Unbelievable service! The food was very very good as well. What a neat place. It has kind of a corporate feel but the people make you really question that. Can't say I've had much better service anywhere in my life. I had the filet and it has a smokey fire grilled taste. Very good. Definitely give this place a shot and check out the salad bar too!

One of the best restaurants if not the best in town! The prime rib sandwiches I have ever had! Also some of the best service you could ask for. This place is a great stop while you're in Gatlinburg.

Don't let the $$$ scare you! This place has a fantastic happy hour from 4:30-7pm mon-fri. I filled up on happy hour appetizers and didn't even need an entree. The atmosphere is definitely a welcome departure from the rest of the tourist focused chain restaurants. I'm from Dallas and feel right at home in the very clean classy setting. Recommend the happy hour but I can't speak to the regular dinner entrees! The smoked trout spread was delicious.

Good fine dinning experience in Gatlinburg! My husband & I have mixed reviews about this place. We both loved the salad bar, it was a huge selection of stuff & it was very fresh too! I ordered the steak medallions & it was very flavorless. My husband the prime rib sandwich which he LOVED!! Our waiter was very nice & other staff offered to help fill up drinks or take plates. It was a wonderful dinning experience!

The best place for dinner in Gatlinburg. We own 2 homes in the area and have frequented Park Grill for years. They never disappoint. The steaks and trout are among the finest I've ever had. The salad bar is a highlight with a variety of fresh options. The side dishes are delight on their own. Try the sweet potato with maple butter. It's Devine! Even the squash casserole is a hit. Service is outstanding. We always ask for Tammy. She's a sweet heart and makes sure you're taken care of.

  • Timothy B.

The service was very good attentive but not obnoxious. The grilled blackened trout was exceptional as was their house specialty crab & shrimp bisque, good sized portions for the price. Their salad bar was very fresh and had a housemade basil vinaigrette that was flavorful but not overpowering.

We've been to a number of steak places in Gatlinburg and this is tops! At 6 pm, the two of us walked in and were seated immediately. Kathy was our server and she was very attentive. We both ordered the filet mignon. We helped ourselves to the salad bar and were impressed by the selections on the bar. Our entrees followed quickly after our salads were finished. Our steaks were cooked perfectly and tasted divine. We will definitely return.

The roast beef sandwich was really tasty. It was one of the best I've had out, lots of flavor. Burgers and fries were decent. We didn't understand why just the top of the bun was cut in half and under the sandwich. Service was ok.

  • Courtney M.

My boyfriend and I happened to see this place after we did about a 5 mile hike! We were starving and didn't care where we went. This place was awesome! Their dinner rolls were soft and warm, and dinner entrees come with a salad bar! They cooked my steak perfectly and my boyfriends rainbow trout was good as well. We are very happy that we stumbled upon this place! We will come again!

Perfect steaks, fresh salad, beautiful atmosphere and friendly service. We've been going to the Peddler for years, but the latest trip to Park Grill sealed the deal for our new official Smoky Mountain steak place!

Food quality is one of the best in Gatlinburg but the prices are a bit high. Service is exceptional as in the quality of the food. Quantity could be a bit more but all in all it is definately worth a try.

  • Bam A.

For the price go to a nice chain restaurant (Fogo de Chau, Melting Pot, etc). This is about what you'd expect from a tourist area - salad bar and all. Go to Ruby Tuesdays and save yourself $50. Don't get sucked in to the tourist trap and "good" reviews.

  • Robert L.

The food here is amazing, like the service and salad bar. Unless you are afraid of salads, this place will leave you as full as you want. The moonshine chicken is delicious, and the steaks are even better. My wife had also added sweet potatoes to her order, and she shared them around the table and we all loved them. I've been to this restaurant 5 times now and never had a bad experience. It can be a little pricey (it should be, the place is beautiful, and the food is great) -- but totally worth it to celebrate a special event or even for a nice dinner in town.

  • Laurel M.

Most divine dinner in Gatlinburg. It was the perfect ending to our friendcation. Prime Rib was suberb. Recommend the squash casserole as a side. Be sure and save room for dessert and if you can't make your mind up go for the trio which is a large portion of each. Relaxing atmosphere and will always put this place on our future agendas.

Great food and a great atmosphere. Family friendly. Staff was professional and attentive. I had lunch here while visiting Gatlinburg and enjoyed it so much we came back for dinner the next day. Lots of options on the menu for a reasonable price. I really enjoyed the fresh salad bar and the charcoal grilled steak. The moonshine chicken sandwich with steak fries were a favorite for my wife. Will definitely be back here next time I am in Gatlinburg.

Really enjoyed out dinner. Great salad bar. Very fresh. I got the trout. Husband got the moonshine chicken. We both got garlic mash. Rolls were also fabulous. Excellent service. Lovely atmosphere with live music.

Great find in a touristy land of chain restaurants!! My husband and I dined here on Sunday night while visiting Gatlinburg for the weekend. A tasty and fresh salad bar with lots of variety comes with every entree. Decor is rustic modern. Service was excellent. I ordered the grilled trout and my husband had the strip steak. Both were delicious and the sides also very tasty. Make sure to get the maple butter on the side! I highly recommend this restaurant.

The word I would use is mediocre. My pecan chicken was good and a good salad bar, but my husband got the filet kabobs and they were really fatty. It was ok, but wouldn't necessarily go back. I was a little surprised considering the reviews. We actually liked The Peddler (sister restaurant whose reviews weren't quite as good) much better. We would absolutely go there again instead of here.

Great service and excellent food. Moonshine chicken is very delicious. House dressing is unique and in a good way. Salad bar puts most to shame. Would recommend this place to anyone. Be prepared to spend money.

I was really looking forward to a great dinner with my gramda. Looked for best food in Gatlinburg and some people recommended this place. SERIOUSLY... No. I had the she crab soup which was luke warm and they give you lance cravkers like your at Chickfila Then the pecan chicken theyre main dish. I would think it would be fresh chicken, not a frozen patty refried. Highly disappointing. My grandma had fish and chips. Fish was warm and chewy and her squash was luke warm. This place is dressed up cafeteria food and over priced. NEVER again.

Had high hopes based upon the outside, decor and menu. The layout is very cool and has a nice ambience with the piano and decorations. The salad bar is ok, it was missing several of the options listed on the menu. The horseradish mashed potatoes were amazing and the warm rolls were delicious too. One person ordered a medium-rare prime rib and it came out medium-well. The waitress offered to bring out a new steak but we didn't want to wait. The soup was good but cool. Our waitress was amazing, very patient with the kids and very knowledgable with the menu. Overall a better choice than many of the chains.

  • Ben D.

Service was good (not great, but solid). Beer and wine selection was pretty good and the prices were reasonable. Food is pricey but pretty tasty. My sirloin was done exactly as I ordered it. My sister-in-law's fillet looked amazing and she said it tasted amazing too. I got my steak blackened, which was a great choice: just the right amount of flavor. The garlic mashed potatoes were a little bit of a disappointment, but if you add butter to them, they get better. The music was great. Here's the weird thing...it has a salad bar. A fancy salad bar (smoked oysters for example), but a salad bar none the less. It seemed incongruous with the decor and quasi-"fancy" atmosphere. Dress was casual however, so maybe it wasn't such a big deal. Overall, while it was slightly pricey, it was quite tasty.

Prime rib sandwich was good. Moonshine Chix sandwich was ehh and definitely skip the chocolate moose. Was basically chocolate pudding. Service wasn't great.

Ordered the ribeye and it was out of this world! Cooked perfect!! The salad bar is large with lots to chose from and the sides to pick from are all great. I get the squash casserole and my husband gets the sweet potato casserole and we spilt them both with eat other. Great service!

Dinner at The Park has become a tradition since my parents began bringing my brother and I here for dinner every trip to the Smokies. It has become a must-have stop for my husband and I when we vacation in Gatlinburg. I have never had a less than wonderful experience here. The restaurant is gorgeous and the atmosphere is so relaxing. The salad bar, which is included with most entrees, is excellent with a large variety of fresh toppings. I usually have the trout and prime rib. The trout is always perfectly cooked and seasoned as is the prime rib. The sides are also very good. Their steaks are also wonderful, nearly the best I've ever had. I would rate The Park and its sister restaurant The Peddler as the best restaurants in Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge. You definitely get what you pay for.

    (5)
  • Peggy H.

Wonderful in all ways. They've redecorated into a more trendy atmosphere within the rustic building. The salad bar is extensive - the same as at the sister restaurant in Gatlinburg, the Peddler. The steaks and trout were perfect. They've discontinued serving the special sauce with trout which was initially a concern but the trout was so flavorful that everyone agreed it was just right. Excellent service every visit. The pianist was playing for dinner with a nice jazzy arrangement.

In looking for a place for dinner in Gatlinburg, we received mixed recommendations regarding the Park Grill. Apparently they have recently changed their decor from a lodge to more of an upscale restaurant. I would say the decor was somewhat strange as a result. Clearly a lodge on the outside and inside, but tables and decorations more oriented to a New York steakhouse. Having never been there before, the decor was not at all a problem, as some reviewers have commented. That said, we thought the atmosphere and food were very good. I had the combination filet and grilled trout, which while small, were both perfectly cooked. My wife had the fried trout which was also very good. I would suggest passing on the salad bar, which adds $5.00 to the meal and was not really special. We finished by sharing the blackberry cobbler, which was great. They also have a very good drink menu. Very good food.

Went for the first time today, we were repeatedly amazed. The decor/design is creative and tasteful, there was no wait, food was incredible, and service was impeccable. We had a sweet waitress and someone played piano while we ate. Had oysters, a burger, and moonshine chicken sandwich. All were very tasty, and the sides (mashed potatoes and squash) were incredible. We highly recommend!

No...no...no!! This restaurant should not get any 5-star reviews. What a MAJOR disappointment! I hate to give bad reviews, but this is necessary. Ok, let's give this the run-down: *Reservations: what a joke! You can't make a "reservation," only call ahead the same day. They give you a dining window. Ours was from 8-8:20pm on a Saturday. We got there 5 minutes before 8pm and waited... and waited... and waited. Around 8:20, we asked what the status was, they told us 4 people ahead of us. They called 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7... wait a second!! We checked again and they completely forgot about us. We were seated at 8:30pm. I'm sorry, but if I make the effort to call ahead, I expect to be seated PROMPTLY. I don't think I've ever made a reservation somewhere and had to wait! Major fail!! *Service: our waiter was the only saving grace and the only reason why this restaurant is not getting one star. *Food: Salad bar?!?!? Really?? What restaurant (besides Golden Coral or Shoney's still does a salad bar?). I haven't seen one of those in a long time. Especially not in a restaurant that has prices like a fine-dining restaurant. No no no!!! The sides: mashed potatoes, baked potato, onion rings (blech!), and the vegetables were green beans. You could get a side of sautteed mushrooms for $6. I'm sorry, but for those prices, I expect my food to knock me off my socks, perhaps a risotto on the menu? To be fair, my filet mignon was good. Not the best I've ever had by far, but cooked the right temperature and nicely seasoned. The prime rib that my fiance ordered was about 60% fat. Prime rib is more marbelized, true... but for a $26 piece of meat, I don't expect to leave half of it on the plate. *Prices: outrageous for what you get. Definitely not worth the money. I have had better steak at better prices at better restaurants. Overall, a major disappointment. I really wish we had saved our money and stayed at our bed & breakfast!

The ambience and food were excellent! Piano player is a very nice touch. My husband had one of the local choices - BBQ pork loin and horseradish mashed potatoes. Wonderful! My choice was a combo- fried shrimp and prime rib. The steak was great - cooked exactly as asked. Shrimp - so-so. Next time I'd just do the prime rib. Salad bar is super - as are the rolls. Our server Terry started out nice and quickly fell off his game. The nice female server for the table next to us paid us more attention. Refilling drinks, removing plates, getting more rolls etc. We'd go back in a heartbeat - just make sure to get someone else. Would've given 5 stars except for Terry.

Had my New Years dinner here. The wait wasn't bad but it was a little long (it was New Year's Eve though). The bar tenders made great recommendations while we waited to be seated. The rib eye was great and so was the bisque. Not too much selection at the salad bar though. Overall amazing restaurant to eat

The atmosphere was very nice. Rustic but elegant. They had a man playing the piano in the Resteraunt which was nice. I ordered a fillet and it was cooked perfectly. It tasted so good I didn't even use steak sauce. The sweet potato casserole was awesome. It was made with coconut which added a nice twist. I'm not big on salad bars but this one was done right. Very fresh ingredients & house made dressings. The bathrooms were the cleanest I've ever been in.

Everything was great, from the food to the ambiance! We ordered the moonshine chicken and the pecan crusted chicken, both we're great! The salad bar is also awesome and comes with the entrees.

Great service. Ashley was on top of all of our requests and gave tremendous service. The grilled trout was outstanding but was still trumped by the smoked trout appetizer. That little bit of heaven absolutely made my day! Big plus for us Floridians is the Fat Tire on draft for a paltry three bucks. Fantastic dinner. You can't go wrong here.

This used to be my family's favorite eating destination! Unfortunately, the owner went out of his mind!!!!...and removed all traces from the interior of this magnificent rustic place. Now, it has major design confusion with a rustic exterior and a newly remodeled contemporary black/white piano bar inside.....if he thought it was the original decor hurting business, then he should have considered the prices first!!!! Sooooooo disappointed!!!!!!!! Had eaten there at least 100 times before but will never again!!!!!

Decent food, but overpriced and the service is lackluster. I had my wedding reception here. I remembered The Peddler being a good place to eat in town from visits to Gatlinburg in prior years , and heard that this was another restaraunt owned by the same person that had been opened fairly recently, and that is has private rooms for meetings and receptions. Hoping to have a good reception at a place that was like The Peddler, we booked this place. The decor is slightly rustic, it plays into the fact it sits right on the edge of the Great Smoky Mountain National Park by trying to look a little like a National Park building, and the waitstaff wear mock park ranger outfits. That ambiance somewhat works for Gatlinburg, but gets a little cheesy and overly touristy at times. The food was pretty good, to be honest. Not incredible, but appropriate for an upscale steakhouse. We had them prepare our wedding cake, and it did turn out pretty nicely though. It was quite expensive though, perhaps a little more than another steakhouse of comparable quality would have been. Service was iffy and sometimes it seemed like they forgot they had a party of over a dozen in a side room. Several people in our party had alcohol, and they seemed to think that the drinks were adequate. Not exceptional, but sufficient in quality but they definitely don't have a "happy hour". My overall opinion of the place is that it's a fairly nice steakhouse, but it may be just a little too expensive for what it is.

This was my favorite restaurant in Gatlinburg. A great alternative is its sister location the Peddler. The house chicken breast had an incredible homemade marinade that was delicious. The salad bar is very fresh and has some of the best salad dressings that I have ever had. The rolls are delicious and they keep generous amounts coming to the table. The customer service was friendly, prompt and helpful. I hear this place gets busy, so plan accordingly!

This was my 2nd time to this restaurant. The menu has been updated (so were the prices) the menu update was needed. They still have the salad bar, but now for an additional cost. I rated this review 4 stars because my filet was cooked perfectly, my side was as ordered, and service was fine, even though icy. But, neither myself nor my companion ordered the salad bar, but were brought plates, so we assumed it came with steak entree, so we had the salad. (we should have asked and didn't). Was this just honest mistake by our server - I don't know. Also, wine is highly marked up-$10 for a glass Malbec) with small pours. I don't know that I would return even though my food was good, for the price "my experience" should have been good as well.

For Gatlinburg restaurants, this is a must do. If you are looking for a relaxing, friendly atmosphere with really good food, this is your place. We went around seven on a Thursday night and were seated immediately. They gave us a nice private booth. The dining room is very pretty with large wooden beams throughout the place. Our server was Melodie and she was very friendly and personable. By the way, at most Gatlinburg restaurants, you can re-cork your unfinished bottle of wine and take it back to your cabin. Jeff wanted to stay away from beef today, so went for the local choices of grilled trout and the moonshine chicken. The trout was well done and the chicken was juicy and flavorful, although more pineapple flavor than moonshine. A piano player set a romantic mood...paired with a lovely bottle of 2011 Louis Martini Cabernet at a reasonable price, was wonderful. Karen had the prime rib (delicious), but opted for the caramelized onions on the side that were terrific. We will definitely return.

Gatlinburg is a place for vacationing families and there is a huge variety of places to eat. I usually lower my expectations and as long as I can get into a place in a decent amount of time that is clean, where the food is good, we are generally happy people. On 6/14 we decided to eat at the Park Grill. I called ahead for seating and was informed that even if there was a line they would still try to seat us within 15 minutes - I was happy to hear it...and we could wear flip flops...awesome (we'd been in motorcycle boots all day)! We arrived on time and were seated promptly. This is a big place, love all the wood and the 'lodge feel', although as some have commented it's odd to have the salad bar in the middle when you are trying to go for an upscale steak house feel. There was a guy playing the piano when we arrived which made for a nice relaxing atmosphere. Our server was very friendly & when we told her we would just like to have a bottle of wine to start and we would take our time with dinner, she was more than happy to comply. We'd read the reviews on Yelp and there seemed to be a lot of chatter about the salad bar - other than being a little out of place, for an additional $4.99 with your dinner I don't see they big deal. It's a big salad bar although both sides of it are exactly the same. Everything was fresh and had constant attention. Their dressing selection was decent - their house (some sort of basil pesto vinaigrette) was delicious. Other than two additional items (smoked oysters & fresh mozzarella), it's your standard salad bar. We ordered the 7oz filet w/ horseradish mashed and the prime rib sandwich. I will say that the presentation is sparse. It was literally steak, and the mashed potatoes. That's it. No garnish, nothing. My steak, while tasty, looked mangled - like someone didn't know how to filet it properly. It was cooked to order & tender - the mashed potatoes could have used more horseradish. The prime rib sandwich was boring. The prime rib was thinly sliced and cold (which I would have expected) but the au jus wasn't very hot. It came with a horseradish mayo on the side, which I used with my filet. So, its probably a little over-priced for the area - and without many higher end dining options, if you want a place that's doesn't have a bunch of screaming kids, I believe this and the Cherokee Grill are your only options. If you have the right expectations going in, you'll be fine. I would go back there - the service was good, and it was a nice place to enjoy some wine before heading back out into the crowds....

I stayed in Gatlinburg for three days and on the second day I went to Park Grill. I have to say its one of the better places we went to eat. They had a all you can eat salad bar for only 9.99 or you could add it to any entree for $5. I just ate at the salad and it was very good the lettuce was crisp and the veggies where fresh. We also ordered some clams to eat as a group they where got but we had 8 clans that where not open (eating clams that are not open after being cooked is bad for you) we told the waiter and they gave more clams completely free of charge. The service was attentive but they weren't always hovering over us. I also got the brownie desert I forget the name but it was huge I mean you probably could have spilt it between three people. Before I ordered desert I asked what did not have nuts (I have nut allergies) and they said that the brownies where made in a facility that had nuts but they did not have nuts in them, and that put me down a little because that told me they did not make their own brownies. Overall I had a good time and I would go back again when I was in the Gatlinburg area.

Excellent restaurant. Prime rib was delicious and cooked much better than the prime rib at Cherokee Grill (down the street). Park Grill's prime rib was juicy and flavorful. And medium rare really is a hot pink as it is supposed to be. I got the combo of prime rib and grilled trout. The grilled trout was cooked perfectly - light and flavorful without being overlooked. I loved the way they did their kids' menu - it is charged $1/year of the kid and the portion sizes adjusted accordingly. My son got the prime rib at a great price and it was just the right portion. The endless salad bar was a bonus too - lots of choices to make a fabulous salad. Really great salad bar. Our waiter Don was very attentive and provided great service. The one star off is because the raw oysters on the half shell was not as fresh or tasty as it could have been. I had just come from Cape Cod where the oysters there were just epic. Overall, Park Grill is a great restaurant with wonderful salads and food. Perfect to relax with a bottle of wine after a long day of hiking in Great Smoky Mountain Park.

Pros: Steak is done very well. Salad bar is glorious. Great service. Cons: On the pricey side, but not completely unexpected for the quality. Menu: Simple, not over stretched. Service: Our server's name was Don. He and the wait staff put us on a sleeping toddler in a stroller in the perfect spot in the restaurant. We were able to park the snoozing kid near us but out of the way. Very attentive to detail. We had a couple spills, and they were right on top of it. Food: The salad bar is included with every meal, and it's awesome. They had stuff that rarely see, and I love. Things like smoked oysters, and fresh mozzarella. Everything was fresh, good variety, and kept very chilled, and so had a nice crunch in each bite. This made the price point justifiable. I ordered the 9oz filet mignon medium rare, and it arrive perfectly cooked. It was a thick cut, and I worried a bit has a cut into an edge that the middle might be closer to rare, but that wasn't the case. It was well executed. My wife got the 10oz ribeye medium rare, and it was also cooked exactly right. The steaks are pre-seasoned, but the ribeye came out slightly on the salty side, but only slightly. Maybe a taste thing. I'd still recommend it. Sides: the baked sweet potato is nice change up to the standard potato. The maple butter that it comes with is the difference between good and great. Someone at the table should get it, if you're sharing. Kids meals: The pricing for the kids meals makes sense. Bigger kids have proportionally bigger price points, and smaller kids eat less and thus are charged less. It seemed fair. We got the smoked trout, and it was also well done. Trout can be easily over cooked made into dried out cardboard. It was nicely cooked, and moist. The other sweet potato side is a casserole, it was good, but a little over sweet. Akin to the Sweet Pot & marshmello that you'd get at thanks giving. Still pretty good. Didn't get appetizers or drinks so no comment.

We tried Park Grill for the first time on this trip. We typically go to The Peddler but wanted to also compare this sister restaurant. Park Grill appeared a little more formal, but that's not really the case. White table cloths but the regular lodge feel is still there. The wait staff was very attentive but unobtrusive to our enjoyment of the evening. The food was well prepared and served promptly. Unlike The Peddler, salad bar is not included ($5 extra) but the food prices are at least $5 cheaper than The Peddler, which makes it good for those with smaller appetites or budgets. Park Grill was much easier to get in than The Peddler so we'll be back since the menus are very comparable.

Very good food. I had the filet and trout and the steak was cooked perfectly. Atmosphere was nice and the piano player was a ver nice touch to add ambiance. Having said all that, for the price I probably wouldn't go back.

NOT A STEAKHOUSE! I hate writing bad reviews but this place was not good at all. My husband and I ordered the trout and steak combo and had to send the steak back because it came out rare and we ordered it medium. That should have been a clue that this was not a steakhouse. We both took one bite of the steak when they brought it back and it honestly tasted like garbage (like trash and really meaty..ugh) -mine and his!! So we ate the trout which I have to say was really good. I asked our waitress if the steak could have been bad and she came back and said no they are fine..she said the steaks came in on Thursday(we were eating on a Sat.) and the chef says they are not spoiled. So we both left the steaks on our plate- cuz they were disgusting!! I thought they would at least deduct 10% but no- they didn't do a thing! How do you go wrong with a baked potato...they did...the topping were just not that great and the potato was not hot :( I have to say the salad bar was good and the trout we had was good. We won't be back to this place.

We decided to do the Park Grill for Thanksgiving Dinner. I love this place. The salad bar is great, service is always really good, and I have yet to have a bad appetizer or meal here. I had the King Cut Prime Rib and a Shrimp Cocktail plus a salad and I walked out well fed for the money. I definitely will go back on all further trips.

A bit pricey for what you get if you want steak or prime rib . Live piano player adds a little jazz . Geared to service . I'm not sure I get the overall theme .... Rustic cabin / lodge mixed with a 4 star restaurant , but has salad bar at extra cost .

The Park Grill is one of the best dining experiences in Gatlinburg. The host brought a taper candle to our table when she learned we were celebrating being married earlier in the day. Both our steaks were well prepared. My husband had a combo with trout and really enjoyed it. The service was very good. The fried green beans and Jack Daniels creme brûlée are worth the splurge. We'll be back when we visit the area again.

I'm not sure how anyone could give this place 5 stars - they definitely need more restaurant options. The food here is just OK, and very overpriced. The service is also just OK. The waitress made a point of giving us two bills - one showing the full price without the 50% discount on the bottle of wine where she circled the "suggested tip" at the bottom. How tacky can you get??! I'm not sure there are any great food choices in Gatlinburg because it's such a tourist trap. I suggest just going to one of several national chain restaurants on the strip, where you will pay less for same mediocre quality of food.

  • James T.

The food here is priced about right with what you get. The NY strip was good, with a little bit of fat and included a side for $28, my wife had the salmon and said it was very good, they have a salad bar, but we skipped that and got a queso and chips appetizer for $8 (which was really good because they fried flat bread instead of tortillas), the desserts are very good, but I will warn you that the crème brulee is a very large portion. Dress was casual and I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a night out with that special someone.

This may be the chocolate martini talking, but this was a fabulous meal. My rare prime rib was tender and flavorful; the au jus and horseradish sauce were tasty but unnecessary complements. My husband gave his ribeye 3.5 out of 5 stars. The salad bar was fresh and plentiful, and the sweet potato casserole side was like dessert. (Note: It contains coconut - I couldn't taste it but could feel its texture.) The service was exactly what I like: attentive without being overbearing. Everyone who brought something to our table asked if we had everything we needed. The layered brownie dessert topped with a cocoa bear paw print was adorable, but we opted for the less heavy peanut butter mud pie. Delicious! We enjoyed the decor and we're especially delighted when we realized that the overhead music was live piano. They call themselves casual dining but when I pay this much for a meal I prefer to dress up at least a little. I think they just don't want to scare off the vacation crowd.

Excellent food and service. Kids did fine but it isn't a "kid" restaurant. 8 and 10 yr old did fine. It is pricey. $165 for 5. We did have dessert. Everything was cooked appropriately and was delicious.

Veronica was our waitress, great service with just enough chit- chat. My prime rib and potato were perfect, the whiskey sauce on my wife's sandwich was a little sweet. A very nice dinner.

  • Chris S.

The service was solid. The salad bar was decent as was the draft beer selection. The bisque was tasty but the filet let a lot to be desired. Not a bad piece of meat, but for the price, it was unremarkable. All the positive ratings here for this restaurant, it suggests that there isn't much in the way of steakhouses around these parts. Overall, just ok.

good bar service TASTY Filet and Chicken combo meal. Don't let the name "Combo Meal" discourage you, not a fast food joint, good tasting steak that hit the spot. fresh salad bar too and free parking out front which is a rarity on the main drag here. I'd return, well, when it's time to check out Cooter, the General Lee, and Smoky Mountains National park.

The best meal I had in Gatlinburg. I just returned from our trip and you need to try this place. We had our anniversary dinner here and it was really good. Also the most expensive meal we had in Gatlinburg. The server was great. Reisling was nice. Salad bar was smaller than what I had expected but the choices were enough to make me happy. Ordered the strip and trout. Steak was awesome! Very tender, amazing flavor, just a great piece of meat.Trout...well...dont get the trout grilled. NO FLAVOR. I sent it back and got the moonshine chicken. It was much more flavorful and had a nice char on the outside. The table beside us was going to get the trout and I told them about my experience and they all changed to chicken also. But in my opinion this place is really a gem. Go here. Make sure that you get the steaks. You wont be let down. If you get the creme brule it comes in a salad bowl. Its REALLY BIG. Make sure you dont fill up on entrees because this will fill every empty spot in your stomach. For the wine, salads, 2 steaks, and desert it was $125 after tip. But its a great place to take your loved one out to.

This is the first five star restaurant that I have eaten in , in a very long time. We live in Knoxville, tn . And went there for the first time in august 2009 when we met friends there for dinner who were in town from fla. .they stayed at a cabin in gatlinburg. We were all impressed the the place. My husband and I went to the aquarium for fathers day on June 20, 2010 so we decided to have dinner at the park grill. Again , it was great. We arrived when the place opened at 5:00 pm so we where in time for the early bird special menu, which is only for one hour. There was as much as a $ 7.00 price difference on the price of steaks which made the early bird menu a good deal. The service is perfect starting with the hostess, your waiter and management who comes around to be sure you are pleased with everything. The salad bar is the best. And the is also a piano player to provide nice back ground music. This is a steak house so it is a little pricey, but worth it. Good dessert menu and a gift shop. A rocking chair front porch also. Arrive early because they start getting crowded 15 min. Before they open. Enjoy your dinner. I know you will.

For all of it's hype and pricey entrees, it just didn't deliver for us. We were there for a special occasion and were disappointed. Parking was minimal, it was a Saturday night. They open at 5, we arrived at 5:30pm and already the small parking lot was full. We had to go up and park in Calhoun's distant lot and had to wait there to get a space, then walk almost 1/4 mile back to the Park Grill. We had called ahead and were seated promptly. There is a pianist there [I am told] We were seated far from him [or her] and as far as we were concerned, it might as well have been recorded music. Our waitress was slow to serve us, lackadaisical is the best description for her attitude....didn't bring our drinks or bread for quite some time. When we were finally servied our entrees, my partner got his, then we waited...and waited.....then mine was finally brought. The portions are quite small for the prices charged !! Heed this, as it is mentioned in many reviews. The plates are a dull metal grey color, and there was no garnish or sauces on either of our entrees. Imagine my chicken breast and an ice cream scoop side of garlic mashed potatoes on a dinner plate.....no garnish, no sauce, not even a sprig of parsley to fill up the plate. It looked forlorn and like it was missing something. The salad bar is large, and has mozzarella balls and smoked oysters. a nice touch. The smoked oysters were okay, nothing else on the bar was out of the ordinary or special in any way. My partner said the mozzarella balls were plain tasting, no marinade or anything. They charge $12.95 for the salad bar alone, and that is overpriced for what it contains, unless you can eat a lot of smoked oysters !! They do keep it stocked and fresh. It is free with an entree order. I was planning to order the pecan encrusted chicken, but the waitress kept emphasizing to me that it was overly sweet, with a Capt. Crunch breading, discouraging me from ordering it.....why, I don't know. I chose the Moonshine Chicken, which was moist and okay.....slightly alcoholic in flavor, not bad....just not great. My partner's grilled salmon was dry, overcooked, and without any sauce. He said it definitely needed some kind of sauce. He didn't finish it. He also had the ice cream scoop side of garlic mashed potatoes. Both of us agreed the potatoes were nothing special at all, and did not have much flavor. We received exactly three yeast type rolls in our bread basket....The waitress never offered to refill it. The rolls were probably the best part of the meal. I can't recommend this restaurant, and we won't be going back. The area is filled with too many other choices to endure this again. It is wayyyy overpriced for what you get.

After a very, very busy day behaving like explorers and tourists, we wanted somewhere warm and cozy to settle in for a nice meal. We walked along the parkway, looking for just the right spot, looking in windows and reading posted menus. We went into Maxwell's, but left after being seated at a dirty table, inattentive service, an unfriendly host and strange atmosphere. Lucky for us, The Park Grill is just across the street from Maxwell's. The big wrap-around porch was really inviting with its rocking chairs. Inside, the atmosphere was that of a big hunting lodge. This place is pretty big, but feels like a cozy cabin with exposed beams and lots of cabin-decor. A piano player played a grand piano, which was a nice touch. The menu is grilled food with a Southern twist. I ordered the Pecan Chicken and my boyfriend ordered The 9 oz. Prime Rib. We both felt that our food was just so-so. The salad bar was nice, but very crowded. Our waitress was flaky, insincere and inconsistent in her service. We had to ask for refills and ask for bread. Our waitress was the biggest opportunity for improvement at The Park Grill. Don't get me wrong. We were hungry. The food was warm. The atmosphere was nice and we had a lovely date.

After reading many many reviews of this restaurant before our trip to the Gatlinburg area, we decided to go one evening after a day of adventuring in the Smokies! Neither my fiance or myself have ever eaten in a 5 star restaurant before (we usually don't splurge like that), but it was definitely worth it. The inside was decorated beautifully, and had a wonderful ambience; there was a live pianist playing during dinner. Our server was spectacular. We both ordered the Filet Mignon, and it was absolutely perfect. Our meals both included their amazing salad bar, which was worth the trip just for that! With tip, our bill came to $96, so it's definitely a bit pricey, but a nice treat while on vacation. :)

Good place for a nice dinner. Great salad bar. Owners also own The Peddler (steakhouse) a few blocks away. Menu is very similar, but Park Grill has more variety and less expensive. The Peddler is on the river with nice views. Don't think you will be disappointed with a meal at either place.

My boyfriend and I came across this place during the off season when it was quiet. Let me just say that we were treated first class. I don't know if it is because it is so slow during the month of January, but it is the first relaxing meal we have when we get to Galtinbug after a long days drive. I believe we have had the same waiter for the past couple of years and he must have been professionally trained b/c he served our bottle of wine like a pro and was extremely accommodating by making a special veggie dinner for my boyfriend. As an interior designer, I really appreciate the atmosphere as well. I was really disappointed to see the Hard Rocks and other chain places popping up when I came back after many years. I have been to Gatlinburg since I was a little girl, and this place seems to keep the feeling I expect when I go to the mountains.
