If you like beer and amazing food, than this is the place for you. It's definitely off the beaten path, but well worth the drive. The atmosphere is very cozy and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and the owner/chef was very kind and engaging. If you like fish and chips, then this place will ruin all other fish n chips from anywhere else. It is by FAR the best fish n chips I've ever had. Great fish, excellent batter, perfect fish to batter ratio. Seriously, it's amazing. My husband and I had this five years ago and hadn't been back to the area since, five years later and it's still the best fish n chips ever. They also have a lot of great beers on draft in addition to even more bottled options This last time we had our two kids with us, a 3 yr old and a 1 1/2 yr old. It's family friendly and a really relaxed environment. They even had a cabinet full of toys and didn't mind our kids playing with them on the rug on the floor. The owner, who is also the chef, lives next door and it's apparent that he puts his heart into this restaurant. You won't regret coming here.

Best fish and chips ever!!! The fish is fried perfectly!! Their beer selection is great too with a great selection for us beer snobs. The homey feel from the people here makes you feel like you are visiting a distant relative. They encourage talking amongst yourselves and the people next to you. I highly recommend this place and will return when we visit Gatlinburg again!!

This is a great British Pub in the middle of TN. Off the beaten path but worth the trip! We had the Steak and Mushroom Pie and the Poachers Roll. Both were supberb - served hot with "chips" thick cut fries. A find!

Since Spring break is around my birthday, and we usually head to Gatlinburg for vacation, this is my favorite birthday stop. It's located along the craft trail, and is set back from the road a bit. The tavern is located on the second floor, which means climbing two set of steps (ground floor, 1st and 2nd). The inside is an eclectic pub like atmosphere, which includes a big screen tele and a couple of couches, plus several tables, the bar, and some outside deck seating. They offer something like 83 different beers, and a simple food menu plus specials. The prices are the best we've found in Gatlinburg. Everything is hand made and so occasionally they may run out of something popular that day. Dinners take time to prepare, and the cook won't rush, so just enjoy the atmosphere, have a couple of pints and play some darts while you wait.

Good, authentic pub. Great beer selection, wings were tasty (not spicy), fish sandwich was excellent. Great natural cut fries (chips) very tasty. Comfy, casual atmosphere, friendly owner. Fair prices.

A great and "real" English Pub out in the country away from Myrtle Beach in the mountains. Many thanks to the owners Brian & Dana. We ate there last night and each of us had the fish and chips(12.95). The chips are not cut until you order you meal! All the food is of British fare and quite affordable. Everything is made in house. They even make their own bangers as that was a special the night we dined! Bangers and mashed... Brian actually offered me a job. Wish I could, but need to wait. Excellent beer selection and great personal service in this little charming establishment If you want an unforgettable experience, then this is the place for you. Just plain simple English pub fare. Thank you so much Brian & Dana. I m looking forward to seeing you once again. I would love to brew some beer with you Brian. We simply cannot wait to return to enjoy the home style atmosphere. Very kid friendly. It is like eating in your own living rom. The walls are covered in English memorabilia and they only play British tunes!

We found this place on Yelp. It was located off the beaten tourist trap path. The service was ok, not much chatting or friendly smiles to be found. We came in first but others were greeted and served before us. We ordered the Scotch Egg, and were pleasantly surprised that it was good. It came with some mustard, and was tasty. There was a pup (Husky type-dog) on the porch that greeted everyone that came up. My husband got the Fish and chips and found they were both greasy. I had the Chicken Pie with chips (fries) and thought it tasted good, but my fries were a bit greasy as well. The specialty beers were interesting to try as well.

Very good food and large choice of beverages. Causal and relaxing. Sit on a deck, enjoy a beer and chill out in the smokie mountains.

Awesome fresh lightly battered fish! Board games, darts and countless books to occupy you while waiting for your food. Excellent and well accommodating staff.

A house converted to bar, it gives the feel of a newly established tavern. Established 17 years ago, the living room/bar is not what you would expect. Good food, lots of beer, atmosphere leaves some to be desired. Staff is not very engaging, but would be great for a large family... If your looking to party, not your spot.

We stop by every time we do the Arts and Crafts loop and this is a consistent high point. They have a wide variety of beer on tap - over 30 taps of fun. In addition, the fish and chips is the best. I highly recommend this pub for beer and bar food.

I love this place so much. But it's not for everyone - which is one reason I love it and am not giving it five stars. If you're someone who expects prompt service, a devoted staff and food fixed your way, please go elsewhere. This is not the pub for you. It's a laid-back pub ran by the owner, with a friend filling in at least during one visit. The waitress had quit the first time we came; the second, she was having boyfriend drama. So why would you go there? Because it is awesome! No matter what else is happening, drinks arrive cold and fast, and the on tap selection is wonderful. The food is fresh, authenticate and fabulously British. There are games, books, a pub dog on the balcony, and even a slide and rocking horse for the tots. It feels more family friendly than any place else we visited in the smokeys. It's definitely more neighborhood hangout than what you think of when you read "pub." Plus the owner is really cool. I wish we had a place like this at home, but it'd be too packed. I think it's an under appreciated treasure!

This is a great, casual bar with fantastic pub food. The beer selection is the best I've found in the Gatlinburg area, hands down. The food is served hot and with generous portions. I've loved everything I've ordered. Everytime we vacation here, we have to come to this place. The thing some patrons might not like is the service. If you need to get in and out quickly, this isn't always your place. The staff is small and stretched thin, and sometimes their irritation with how their day is going shows. But if you keep your sense of humor about you, sit back, and relax, you will have a great afternoon or evening. There's sometimes music, and there's always darts, books, TV, and toys for the kids. I highly recommend this place.

Not what I expected, but the beer and cider list was long with great choices. The food was ok but the chips (fries) were really good, the kind that held up to malt vinegar well. The decor was ... odd. But everyone was very friendly and, once we found it, we enjoyed our meal, the atmosphere, and the drinks.

Corned beef is gluten free and delicious!! They have the coolest atmosphere, and best gluten free beer selection in Gatlinburg. Brian, the owner, is so friendly and cares about his clients. We'll be back there for sure, and he and his wife are opening a wine bar soon.... LOVE IT!!!

An out of the way gem in a rough area. Lots of beer decent food. The service is slow. Probably the highlight of my afternoon as my wife dragged me through this so called arts and crafts loop.

  • Chris H.

Not bad but not great. Waitress was nice but the food was very fatty. I'm English and this is not quite the real thing. I wouldn't come back for the food but maybe for a beer. Its more a cafe that serves beer than a bar. It closes at 8:00PM.

A local British bar, not on the main path. Food good, service even better. Quaint and a fun place to hang out (if you don't mind climbing 30 steps to the main door).

In a island of sameness and family fun you have a true british pub. Just a great place. A hidden gem

Below is a message I got from the owner of the Fox and Parrot after I left a negative review of his restaurant. It had all the makings of a cool place, but unfortunately it was sub-par at best. Is it appropriate for an owner to send messages like this to its customers? And by the way, I never personally attacked his daughter. I said I was not sure if it were legal for such a young girl to serve alcohol, and 2 of the 3 beers we ordered had to be sent back because they were flat and turned foul. _____________________________ I am really sorry that I missed you idiots when you visited my Tavern. You both are surely the reason that the locals here cannot stand people from Ohio. First of all, after 12 years of serving the best selection of draught beer in East Tennessee, yours is the first complaint about flat beer. Since you left my establishment we have served hundreds more pints and not a SINGLE other complaint. Maybe you should stick to Shoenling or Hudepohl. Secondly, my 13 year old daughter Jen has a better idea of how to serve a pint than you have the sense to write about one. And for your information, the law in Tennessee says that a person has to be 18 years old to serve beer...unless they are kin to the owner. I have a very small family run Pub and we work very hard to make everything as authentic as we possibly can. Our prices are the lowest in town for some of the biggest portions of handmade, homemade, authentic British food. If you want to get personal about someone in a review, do it about the owner. Only a moron would personally attack a 13 year old trying to help out her family. Do us all a favor in the future by kindly avoiding our Tavern, and if possible even consider a different travel destination. Brian -------------------------------------------

We stopped for lunch and were pleasantly surprised! Food was homemade, tasty and plentiful. Strongly recommend! (Note: there are a lot of steps, so not the best if you have trouble.)

Based on others' recommendations that the Fox and Parrot Tavern was kid-friendly, we came here during our vacation. It was a weekday, fairly early, and we were the only diners in the place. That was a little strange! The guy tending the place was nice, although there were only two high chairs available (we have twins). The food was pretty average English pub food-- certainly a novelty for the Smokies area. I didn't fall in love with it, but I ate it. Also, note there are about two flights of stairs to reach the tavern. Keep this in mind with wheelchairs or strollers.

Wanting to try the "local flair," we stopped at this "tavern." It is a dive place, with filthy tables, and nasty couches. The patio was disgusting, but dog friendly. We tried to look past the filth, but the food was just as bad. My daughter didn't even eat (smart girl), and both my husband and I felt sick after eating less than half our plates. We asked for dog water when we sat down (had our mutts with us), but the server only FINALLY brought dog water when he brought the check. By then, I had already gone to the car to get a bottle of water and a dish from our trunk. Skip this place. Slow service, filthy (NASTY), and bad food.

So worth the drive away from downtown Gatlinburg! After a long day of sightseeing and hiking through the Great Smokies, we decided to have dinner here since all the places downtown had wait-times of 30 min+. We were seated immediately and the food was out very quickly. My parents and I loved the British pub decor and the beer selection on tap was very impressive.

Freaking awesome food, beer selection, ambiance. There are games for kids and adults. The deck is beautiful to sit on during warmer months. Great staff and service.

If there is one stand out as far as food goes on our trip to Gatlinburg and the Great Smoky Mountains it was the Fox and Parrot! Hidden on the back roads outside of town on Gatlinburg's historic art trail is an authentic British Pub! This place is so authentic that the local Europeans stop in all the time making it feel as if your actually somewhere outside the states. On our visit we started out with an appetizer of Chips and Cheese which is British style potato wedges served with spicy beer cheese. Absolutely Delicious! Everyone in our party then got the Fish and Chips for Dinner. This my friends is as authentic as you are going to find in the USA for British Fish and Chips. Full of flavor, and just plain amazing. Some highlights to the Fox and Parrot apart from the delicious food are the amazing atmosphere, and hospitality toward families. The fox and Parrot offer a whole cabinet of coloring books, and toys for the kids in the family. The big plus for the adults is the Giant selection of European style Brews! Lots of Brews you don't normally find on tap are readily available. They also have a large selection of bottled beers as well. The owner of the Fox and Parrot takes his restaurant serious, and knows quite a bit about Europe as well as their Beer and Foods. He is also a very comical individual who makes the atmosphere great as well. Overall Their is no better place to grab a bite to eat while in Gatlinburg this is truly a hidden gem that I will return to anytime I'm in the area! If your looking to get off the strip and have a great meal with great atmosphere look no further than the Fox and Parrot Tavern! Cheers!

Hands down the best place for food and beer in Gatlinburg. Huge selection of craft beer. Delicious and authentic British food. We tried the fish and chips, steak and mushroom pie, and pretzel with beer cheese appetizer. All amazing and highly recommend. Everything homemade.

Beautiful setting . . . Check Off the beaten track. . . Check Great service and food . . . Double check We definitely will be back. I recommend the fish and chips and the pasty. The food was reasonably priced and fantastic. Check out this hidden gem when you're in the area

Off the beaten track but very warm & hospitable. We had the shepherds pie and poacher roll w scotch egg. Poacher roll had a delicious flaky crust stuffed with awesome sausage & veggies. Shepherds pie was yummy and warm, good comfort food. Not the best I've ever had but good. Both came with fries/English chips, hot and salty. Yum. Would've loved salad or some veggies but I guess that's not what you go to an English pub to eat. Hubby loved smitticks on tap!

After being incredibly disappointed with the mediocre food that Gatlinburg had to offer on our vacation, we were very pleased with the food at fox and the parrot! The food was absolutely wonderful! The staff was great, very friendly. They welcomed our dog and everyone had to stop and pet her. I had the chicken pot pie and it was very tasty, flakey homemade crust. Now for the bad, the outdoor seating area was very dirty. All of the chairs and table tops had standing water in them, the last rain was over 24 hours prior to our visit. The chairs were very dirty and didn't look like they'd been wiped down in quite some time. There was food in the ground that looked like it had been there awhile. The waitress said we could eat inside if we'd like and even said the dog could come inside, but I didn't feel like we should eat with the dog indoors incase that may offend other customers. If you can get past some of the unclean conditions, this place really does have great food!

Great English Pub with decent Pub food . The ambience and great beer selection was awesome . The food while maybe authentic was get me by bar grub which was perfect for this Public House setting , to me anyway . So if you think your an Iron Chef and generally a food snob maybe you avoid the Fox and Parrot ! If you want to relax and enjoy a pint or two in a great character filled all ages friendly setting I would recommend the Fox and Parrot Tavern to you . Cheers !

This was a great place to eat. Authentic food. British, Irish, and Scottish food. I had an awesome steak and mushroom pie with wonderful French fries. My husband enjoyed fish and chips with one of the 85 beers. I had a wonderful lemonade as well. Great stop for lunch in the smokies artisan loop.

This was the best place that we have eaten at on our trip here in Gatlinburg. The fish n chips were amazing and were lightly battered with a beer batter and the fries were the best I have ever had, next to my moms homemade fries. The ale that was suggested was an awesome combination to the fish n chips. The wife had the poachers roll and it was amazing. The crust was so flakey and it tasted great. Son had scallops and he loved them. If you are in the area, you have to make time to come and check out this place. It went beyond my expectations.

Wasn't sure at first but we like the out of the way places. The owner is a character and it turns out he lived down the street from us many years ago. The Guiness was perfect as was many of the other drafts. The food was good but takes time, but the scenery is well worth the wait.

We decided to check this place out while we were in Gatlinburg. We walk in and immediately, we thought we loved it. It's in a house on the top floor. It had a very cozy feel to it! We get the beer menu and there are a ton of German beers! Where we live, it's hard to find German beer. Needless to say, we were ecstatic! There are signs everywhere saying "be patient when you order food." We decided to order food and expected it to take a while, due to all the signs. However, we didn't know that the man at the bar was the cook too. Apparently, he was the ONLY one there. We were there 3 hours and only got 2 beers... I understand that the food would take a while but to be at a pub with empty glasses is a sin. However, the food was well worth the wait. I'm giving only 3 stars for the German beer and how yummy the food was. If you are wanting to drink more than two beers, this is not the place for you.

Came based on reviews during our vacation and the place was away from the touristy downtown. Great beer selection, authentic British Grub and cozy. Staff were super friendly. Kids polished off wings, chicken tenders and shepherds pie while we enjoyed a Scotch Egg, Reuben, and some fish and chips. Fish and chips were the highlight. Fries were hand cut and delicious too. Great stop off the beaten path.

What a cool place that's off the beaten path. The fish and chips are the best I've had. They have a ton of beers including regional craft beers. I went traditional and had a Guinness. The Cornish pasty was homemade and good, but it needed more turnips or potatoes for my liking. Next time we're in town, I know we'll hang out here again. As an aside, one of the workers is a Detroit Red Wings fan and has a bit of Red Wings hockey memorabilia hanging around. Nice place...no frills...just the way it should be!

  • Chris S.

I have been there two days in row. This place is not a tourist trap your family the whole says bar hi and bye to everyone. The food is to dye for. The beer list best in town. This Blackhawks town guy is going back soon even though the owner is a redwings guy.

Check out this British pub that is definitely off the beaten path. Casual dining that is easy on the wallet. The food is outstanding. We had the Scottish egg, which by the way is HUGE, fish and chips, scallops, and shepherds pie. All to die for. The atmosphere is very friendly. If you are lucky you may get to meet the puppy as well. The owners are very friendly. Will be back!!!!!

I really wish I could give this place a good review because I can tell they are family owned and my husband and I are always rooting for small businesses, but I really can't give them more than a two star... To be fair, we didn't have any beer and they ARE a pub. (The waiter even told us as he was handing us the menus, "we are a pub and not a restaurant") So I guess it's a bit unfair to rate them completely on their food, but we went to this place after reading their food reviews. Anyways, we got a Scottish egg and the fish and chips. The Scottish egg was way to salty, I'm hoping it was intentionally like that because it's supposed to go with beer and the fish and chips we're just sad. The fried fish looked it was dropped onto plate because it wasn't in one piece when it arrived to our table and the fries were soggy and drenched in oil. I think the oil wasn't hot enough when it was fried. We wanted to go somewhere outside of the main Gatlinburg strip for lunch but this place was not good for their food.

  • Larry T.

We stopped here for a hearty beer and meal after hiking. The owner/bartender knew his beers and had a great selection. My husband had the shepherds pie, which was plain consisting of only potato and ground beef with some shredded cheese, barely melted on top. My fish and chips were 2 filets thickly breaded and overcooked greasy fries. Large portion, but not appealing. Definitely did not look like those pictured on Yelp. Go for the great refreshment, but skip dinner.

  • Eric M.

$5 dollar craft pints are always a win with me, but the knowledge of the multiple beers on tap by the bartender (probably the owner) was excellent, he even gave me a short lesson on brewing ales and common variances between British and American ales. Food was also great Ruben was fantastic, my wife had the steak and mushroom pie and thought it was so good I only managed to steal one bite of it. Overall this is a must for the relaxing person looking for good food, great beer, and a relaxing place to enjoy.

You may need a GPS after dark, but it's a great find away from the Gatlinburg strip. Parking is limited and steps to get to the second level pub. Good food and friendly, attentive service. My bubbles and squeak was really just the ingredients stirred together without being fried served luke warm. The poachers pie however was very good.

    (4)
  • Kimberly B.

Really terrible. Cornish Pasty was dry and tasteless. My party ordered the kids chicken tenders and they were so hard my son had to peel off the breading to eat them. Two ordered the fish and chips. They said you could get more meat in a Gordon's fish sticks. I had the shepherds pie. Was just ok. I wouldn't go back.

Just discovered this Pub by happenstance. Spent such a pleasant afternoon. The ales impress and for those looking for an alternative try the Peach Cider that will definitely tease the taste buds. Hubby and I shared the fish & chips and not enough good things can be said. The owner will provide your entertainment with the history. Get ready for a pleasant surprise.

Fish and chips really are great! The kids ate the mozzarella sticks up in minutes! Usually I have to beg them to finish their food. The people working here were nice and it was a very interesting atmosphere. I would come back when in the area.

I cannot say enough good things about Fox and Parrot. My friends and I wanted to experience some local restaurants and we were not disappointed. We all ordered the fish and chips. The food was delicious and great portions. During our wait, we played an informal game of Trivial Pursuit and enjoyed the ambiance of the pub - comfy furniture, relaxed patrons, and Braveheart on the tellie. Who could ask for more? Above all else, I fell in love with this restaurant when I was trying to climb the front stairs and a woman called to me from the parking lot. She asked if I needed a ride around to the back to make it an easier entrance. I am on supplemental oxygen and have extreme difficulty breathing even walking on even surfaces - so the stairs were monumental for me but I was going to brave them. It turns out that the woman is the wife/partner. She loaded me into her jeep and deposited me in the back - I walked through the kitchen and lo and behold, I met my friends and was able to enjoy the evening without being out of breath. When we finished our meal, she offered to drive me back down but I can manage the downhill much easier. But let me make it clear, this was by far the best experience I've had at a restaurant and highly recommend it for the food, the experience, and the customer service. Thank you!

This place was great. They have a decently sized selection of craft beer and a delicious menu. Our waitress gave my dad and I a sample of nearly every beer until we found one we wanted to drink and she was very knowledgeable of the beer and food menu. The beer cheese fries were delicious, as were the fish and chips and the fried scallops. My aunt/uncle complained that the menu failed to accurately describe the size of the food, but I disagree. I've never ordered fish and chips or Shepard's pie anywhere and NOT received a giant plate of food.

Great beer selection! Good food. A true public house atmosphere. Pull a book off the shelves, and sit down on a love seat next to the fireplace with a drink. Alot of character. If you are in the area I recommend it.

I took the family to the Smokies for a vacation. We could've had lunch at crowded downtown Gatlinburg but we chose to leave the crowd. We had lunch at the Fox and Parrot. I love the set-up. Everything looked chill. You can sit at the balcony and take in that cool mountain air while sipping on your favorite brew. And speaking of beers, they have a wide beer selection and the price was very reasonable. I had a Lagunitas IPA while playing a round of darts. Food was good too (I had the fish sandwich).

We stopped by here recently as we rode through Gatlinburg's Arts and Crafts Trail (where surprisingly few stores seem to offer much beyond a touristy selection of knick-knacks), delighted if not astonished to find a British pub amid a distressing community of chain restaurants and fried food joints. It's located off the road a bit and requires negotiating quite a few steps to the top (no handicapped access as best we could tell). Once there, we found a pretty authentic pub (darts included), and we loved the wide beer selection and the knowledgeable way the bartender pulled a draft of fresh Guinness. Wish we'd stuck with the beer. The food, apparently homemade, another good point, was not good, sorry to say. The chili was soupy, the meat clumped and the overall taste a little on the bland side. The shepherd pie had a mushy crust and also came out bland. It also came out lukewarm and had to be re-heated. The service was slow but friendly. We love the idea of a pub in the woods, but this place, regrettably, has a ways to go. We hope they make it.

Stopped in here recently while driving through the arts and crafts district in Gatlinburg for lunch. Awesome British style pub set in the Smokies, away from the busy downtown area. The wife and opted to sit on the deck and the tables could have been cleaner and the plastic lawn chairs could have been cleaner and sturdier. The inside was very well set up with all the familiar tavern collection of wall decor and dart boards. The beer selection was outstanding, nursing a slight hangover from the night before I opted for the Sweetwater 420, lol. The food was good, we had clam strips, scallops and the sausage and bacon meat pie, all three served with fresh cut french fries. The star rating would have been higher had the service been a little more attentive and the outside deck had been cleaner and awaiting guests. Plus the flimsy plastic chairs need to be updated to something a little more sturdy.

The greatest fish and chips I have ever had in the states. Feels like a real pub atmosphere. Debates and discussions between guests is encouraged. Well worth the trip away from the city proper.

While driving through the Arts & Crafts Community, this British Pub tickled our interest and we are very glad that we stopped by. They had a wonderful selection of beer, ales, ciders (peach & pear were my favorite) - drafts and bottles - and they didn't mind giving us a sampling or two when we couldn't decide. Small but appetizing selection of "Pub Fayre" - we wanted to try about 50% of the menu. We snacked on the Fish & Chips and they were clearly very home made and delectable. Great thick cut, skin on "chips" and flaky, perfectly fried fish fillets. The staff was very friendly and helpful. And the chef (owner I presume) came out to check on us and make sure that our order came out to our liking. Finally, we enjoyed the cool afternoon on their adorable second-story deck which is nestled high among the trees, far off of the road. Definitely a nice stop to grab a brew, ale or other beverage and a bite to eat while spending a few hours on the Arts & Crafts Community drive.

Country British Pub with a Family Vibe. I just love British Pubs and what can be better than a pub located in the hills of Tennessee. Location is key here along with the fantastic beer selection. +1 to Brandon who said that this place has the best beer selection in Gatlinburg because it does. Estella on draft and I'm ashamed to say after over 500 plus beers at WOB I've never had this beer before. At 5 bucks a draft how can you beat the price for a beer shipped out of Barcelona. Just good suds. My wife ordered the Welsh Rabbitt, which is fresh cut fries served with a beer cheese sauce. The fries with thick cut with the skins still on. The beer added to the flavor of the cheese but I really like the spice that was mixed in. This heat lingered in your mouth like cayenne pepper which I love. The ambiance was outstanding. After chatting with the owner Brian, it was interesting to learn the history of the Fox and Parrot. His passion to bring a cozy pub that focuses only on Traditional British fare and quality beer is refreshing. To stand his ground against the waves of tourists that plow thru his business and ask for hamburgers and nachos renews my faith in small businesses war against corporate compromise. It's obvious that its working here since they have been open for 15 years. The sign I saw when we walked up says it all to me, this is a family pub, kids and dogs are welcome. If you have ever been to England and gone to a pub on Sunday that's all you see are families young and old with dogs running around inside. That's what makes the Fox and Parrot special. The laid back, you are part of our family vibe. Remember to tell them Dan sent you and Stay Hungry!

Why would anyone go any place else? This is a wonderful friendly English Pub. Food and drink hit the spot and the atmosphere is the best. Get out of Gatlinburg and enjoy some sanity.

My husband and I took a trip to Gatlinburg, it had been while. We were shocked at what a tourist trap it had become although I did find some unique shops that had very cute things and the prices were not bad either. besides that, we wanted to get off the beaten path and lines waiting on chain restaurants and tried this place. Its a few miles outside of town neslted in the woods and we were so happy, we went back again!!! The people were very friendly. They had 85 different beers (the sign said) we didn't count. I had the shephards pie and my husband had the bratwurst. You just can't find friendly out of the way places like this very often, The decor was very unique and when we left, we felt like family. There was one turnoff (there has to be one right?) They had a chalkboard neslted beside the bar and it had a personal political statement on it. (not cool) I hate politics! LOL but their right as owners and if we head that way again we will definitely go back!

Love this place. Five stars for practically being the only place in the Smoky Mountains with so many good taps. Between the Smoky Mountain Brewery producing mostly lackluster beers and the Mellow Mushroom a haven for tourists and screaming kids alike, the Fox & Parrot Tavern is about the only place a craft beer lover can truly enjoy themselves after hiking in the Smokies. It's nestled back on Glades Road aways so you feel like you're having a pint in the backwoods, surrounded by beautiful forest. And that's probably because you are having a pint in the backwoods.. and you are surrounded by beautiful forest. In addition to a few beers, I tried the 'Chips & Cheese' which was fresh cut fries topped with beer cheese(the barmaid used Sierra Nevada Pale Ale to cook with the cheese and they were delicious). Note: Try any of the Sweetwater beers brewed in Georgia or the Highland Gaelic Ale, brewed in Asheville, NC. Double Note: After turning onto Glades Road, it's 2 or 3 miles up the road on the left, back near a small 'shopping complex' that consists of a few arts 'n craft stores, with the Tavern on the second level of the building off to the left.

Great tap selection, quirky atmosphere, awesome homemade fish n chips! Others got the reuben and chicken Pie and loved them. It's the perfect local, off the beaten path spot! The prices, to me were a tad high- partly because yelp said $9 for fish and chips and I think it was really $12.50. Also the service was a bit harsh and odd. But give it a shot!!

To find this place 5 minutes from our cabin was awesome. The food, the vibe, the service, the beer...A++. Fish and chips hits it out of the park. Portions are huge. Eat here.

This place is FANTASTIC. Be ready for a laid back, quirky, non-fancy time -With an incredible beer selection and the best frigg'n cheese fries I've probably had in my entire life! The atmosphere is weird, but I like it.

Who: My husband and me What: Were hungry and in need of a quality beer. Or three. When: May 10, 2012 Where: Great Smoky Mountains/Gatlinburg, TN Why: Our 10 year anniversary vacation/celebration, baby!! The facts: We discovered the Fox and Parrot during our honeymoon stay in the Smokies and we were instantly smitten. Fast forward 10 years. We were really really hoping and praying that it was just as we remembered. You can definitely see the effects of the economic kick in the ass we all endured, especially here. Lots of places we remembered were gone. We were weak with relief when we saw the F&P still standing and going strong! I fully realize that everyone has their own wants and expectations. But for those of you out there that are easy to please: this is the place for you. And all I mean by that, is that if you are more of the White Linen Napkin Placed Gently in the Lap kinda person - you might not dig it here. In my opinion, I say, what more can you ask for? A cozy British pub tucked into the pines of the Smoky Mountains? Uh...yes, please! We split a Scotch egg, I had fisn-n-chips, he had a steak pasty. All of it - mouthwatering. And I'm not just saying that because this place is close to my heart. The menu is small, but reasonably priced (nothing over $9.95 if I'm not mistaken). We had some beers (can't remember which ones which is the bad part of writing a review one month later), played some darts, wandered out to the deck overlooking the woods, chatted with the owner. To me it seems to be the only bar/pub in all of godforsaken Gatlinburg that is actually authentic and not touristy, as it is far from the beaten path in the pretty Arts and Crafts community. It was perfect. Perfect perfect perfect. Thank you for still being there for us F&P. We'll see you next time.....

Wow talk about unique. This place has wild dogs on the porch and shit! Ok maybe not wild but it adds to the mystique of the backwoods environment this place provides for the average urbanite. There are several unique beer choices on tap to choose from all for 5 bucks. The food is amazingly prepared as well. Someone took some time in putting this little place together, I really like the homey feel of the joint as well.

  • Brandon C.

Best beer selection in Gatlinburg. It feels like a secret hideaway, maybe even a treehouse pub if you sit on the porch. On the inside it kinda feels like you're hanging out in someone's living room, which is a bit awkward. Staff was nice to talk with and attentive. Only tried the beer, and again, they had the best beer menu in the area. The positives outweigh the negatives here.

We stopped by on a locals reccomendation. My husband and I are both bartenders so we didn't mind when there was no bartender behind the bar and saw some regulars pour their own drink. We overlooked when the owner finally came out and served some regulars when we'd been waiting 10 minutes. They are regulars after all, we understand you'll see them more than anyone else. The few straws that broke the camels back were the scoffing and perceived annoyance when my husband asked about some of the many beers they have on tap. You think being proud of the selection they'd be glad to explain the different brews. When he didn't have clean glassware to use and then answered a phone call before trying to pour a beer for my husband, I go so angry I walked out. My husband joined me a moment later at the car. The owner yelled expletives at us over the patio, and I childishly retorted. I have dealt with so many types of people. As I said we are also in the service industry, we tip very well and are always looking for that local place instead of the traditional tourist trap. This was a big miss for us. The bar I work at is a hole in the wall dive bar, but we go out of our way to make everyone feel welcome, and you certainly wont see me answer my phone before you have a cold beer in front of you!

This is a great British Pub in the middle of TN. Off the beaten path but worth the trip! We had the Steak and Mushroom Pie and the Poachers Roll. Both were supberb - served hot with "chips" thick cut fries. A find!

Corned beef is gluten free and delicious!! They have the coolest atmosphere, and best gluten free beer selection in Gatlinburg. Brian, the owner, is so friendly and cares about his clients. We'll be back there for sure, and he and his wife are opening a wine bar soon.... LOVE IT!!!

  • Lori B.

Great little discovery on the back roads. Great selection of beers. Fish and chips were perfect. Great service. Good place to watch football on a Saturday afternoon.

We stop by this place everytime we are in the area. We love it. The food is good and the beer selection is terrific. The owner runs the place and is always there to chat with his customers. Love the atmosphere.

An out of the way gem in a rough area. Lots of beer decent food. The service is slow. Probably the highlight of my afternoon as my wife dragged me through this so called arts and crafts loop.
