We got into Gatlinburg late and these wonderful people took our order literally a minute before midnight. They were very friendly and helpful. Of course the burgers were fresh, and they were tasty too. They gave us customer service far beyond what anyone could reasonable expect. They have earned our patronage. We'll make sure to come back every time we come back to Gatlinburg.

I guess we should have ordered the dinner buffet. We ordered the T-bone. We expected something resembling a steak to come from the kitchen. We think the delivery truck made a mistake and delivered shoe leather instead of steak. Thin, tough, gristle, overcooked. Not much good to say. The ONLY reason Shoney's is getting 2 stars is because of the salad bar and bread. The salad was well stocked and had a good variety of toppings. The lettuce was cold and crisp. The waiter brought us the steak while we were still finishing our salads. The waiter brought the check almost immediately after he brought the meal. This must be a southern thing. No problem, except after the check, the waiter disappeared and we couldn't let him know about the steak. On the way out, the cashier asked how things were. We answered in the negative. The cashier was not interested in hearing anything about our meal. SO ... WHY ASK???? Okay Folks -- 2 stars because of the salad; 1 star otherwise.

First and foremost, let it be said that Shoney's is a BUFFET Restaurant, not a restaurant with a buffet. So do not come in expecting to be treated to a handcrafted meal cooked by a world class chef. On to the place itself. Its fairly clean, and they have nice decorations up for the season. I'm here for breakfast and they have the usual spread on the buffet (bacon, eggs, potatoes, etc.) And as usual, the food is not stellar. Its mass prepared buffet food. It is however, inexpensive and filling. Children 4 and under can eat for free off of an adults buffet order. I know this review isn't the most eloquent ever written, it just seems like the other reviewers for this place expected fine dining and rated it on that standard. It's not a bad Shoney's, but it is a chain buffet in a tourist town. I give it 3 stars because it is what it is, and it does it well for that.

This Shoney's is located at the intersection of Hwy 92 and I-75. Health score not the greatest. The store could use some sprucing up. It's been there a while and it is obvious. Food bar (buffet) was full, but too full for business volume. Items had been on the buffet a long time. Should have ordered off of the menu. Have had better experiences in the past and hope to again in the future. Hopefully just a single not-so-great experience. Will try again and let the readers know. :)

We don't write about national chains as a rule, but because we made such a bad mistake here, we thought it prudent to warn others. We were staying near this Shoneys, and since it was a close walk to breakfast, we took a chance. We deserve what we got. Which was probably the worst, most unedible breakfast we've ever suffered through. From the buffet, the eggs, grits, potatoes, pancakes, bacon and sausage all tasted bad and just alike! How could that be, we wondered? There was absolutely no flavor in any of the food we put on our plate, just an oleaginous mess. God only knows where it came from. We left our plates mostly uneaten, told the cashier we found the buffet terrible (he appeared disinterested) and walked back to our hotel. We eventually got breakfast at a McDonalds, but we're not going to go there, folks. End of review.

My husband and me ate here twice on our vacation this past weekend. The first time we went around dinner the Buffet had ribs chicken corn and. Bunch of other options. We were very impressed it was very good. The staff was extremely friendly. The second time we went during breakfast we also went to a different location right down the road this time the food was awful and the staff was completely rude. Guess it all depends on which location you pick.

Decided to eat here at the end of our vacation for Sunday brunch. Pretty straight forward Shoney's, the buffet satisfied a hungry teenager and the service was good and friendly. Prices were good for downtown Gatlinburg.

buffet restaurant! Cheap, decent food. When my husband and I went here there was only the buffet option because of the snow so parking was also easy. service was good.. our server was a little bit hard to understand overall very good! obviously for $9.99 all you can eat you can't expect the best of the best food..

We ate at Shoney Restaurant in Gatlinburg, the buffet offering was all breakfast and the burger was flavorless. The waiter was extremely nice and friendly but that's it. Don't eat there and waste your money.
