Food was OK but was WAY overpriced for what you get. The "Feast" is 5 shrimp, 2 small pieces of fish, as in index finger sized, a few hush puppies and fries- for $20? Get real. Very noisy too.

I've walked past the BGSCo. In MN, and SanFran thinking I would eventually walk into one. Low and behold the one in Gatlinburg just happened to be on our way to Asheville, so we stopped in. I'm sorry I took the detour. I'm giving this three stars only because there is no 2.5. For a place that specializes in Shrimp, I expected more. Last night's service was lackluster. The waitress did a fine job. The fellow doing the trivia was a bit pushy. We skipped appetizers and went right onto the main dishes. The Crab stuffed shrimp were ok - A few bites were way* over salted, but the majority was good. The Shrimp Sampler was a disappointment. The first order arrived cold and had to be sent back. 2nd batch was hot. Beer Battered Shrimp were yummy, as were the tempura and plain. The coconut shrimp were over fried. The movie is a classic, and everyone should own a copy. But the restaurant is not living up to the hype. If they were running a special on something, I might return - Paying full fair is too much for the quality of the food.

The food is good... Not great. But still good. I went a different route from seafood. I live at the beach in Florida and feel like ill never have fresh fish like i can at home. Call me wierd but even the waiter agreed that somtimes there geographical location causes some ingredients to be less than amazing. So I had a cajun chicken sandwich. It was very good and filling. But like i said judged by its food this place is just average. Add in the fun friendly and straight out of the movie atmosphere and its 5 stars all the way. I happen to love the movie and thought it was really fun to step foot into a place that celebrated every scene the way they did. With memoroblia and little things everywhere to remind you of the movie and your favorite parts and the movie playing on the big screen it was a bit hit in my book. And yeah the waiter has a little trivia round with your table. The price is a little bit up there when you order certain things. mostly seafood. but its not unmanagable. Try it out if your a fan of the movie and it will be more than worth it if your just searching for a place to eat, you might not be impressed

The servers are retro-80's. The shrimp is the tepid, strange chinese shrimp. Can't beat the shrimp from down in Louisiana. I've definitely had better.

  • Bill C.

I had the shrimp and grits - it was ok, a little thin. My wife ordered a salad topped with chicken, but got shrimp instead. I think I'll pass in the future (here anyway - I still like the one in New Orleans.

Fun, but typical chain. A little pricey.

Rolled into Gatlinburg at 9ish on a sunday and after looking for quite a while ate here based on the fact that their kitchen was still open, We both had the shrimp Po Boy. The shrimp were some of the best tasting I had ever had but the pricing was pretty high at $10 for a sandwich and fries. The service was fair and the gimmicky theme was a bit overdone. I would eat here again if it was the only place open but does anyone intentionally want to come back to a place that is theme'd on a 20 year old movie?

    (3)
  • Cowboy B.

I don't like to give bad reviews but I have to be honest. This place has really gone downhill since the new owners took over. Gone are the deviled eggs and new is the smaller portions and reduced flavor. I don't mind so much paying a lot for parking and for food unless it isn't special and it isn't special anymore. I found the staff to be nice still but longed for the days when I could recommend Bubba Gump's. Note that this is a touristy kind of joint. Avoid if you don't like a bubbly, involved waiter who will ask you trivia questions about the movie.

We've eaten here the past two times we've visited Gatlinburg and were really excited to eat here again on this visit. It just wasn't as good as the previous two times and they seated us on the "enclosed, totally heated outdoor patio." It wasn't so bad to start with (it was 40 degrees out) but by the time we finished with our meal, I couldn't stop shivering. What's so bad, is they had open tables inside the nice, heated dining areas. I think we would've enjoyed our meal more if we'd been warm. On the upside, the service was good and we do like the atmosphere. However, it is quite expensive to eat here and my feelings won't be hurt if we never go back.

Awesome service and food. Going back next time I'm close to one. Order the Hush Puppies. You won't regret it.

  • Jim H.

9:30PM - The Hush Pups were a great appetizer. We had the Mahi Mahi Skillet and Cajun Catfish as entrees. The Catfish was juicy and tender served with a tasty salsa on a bed of rice and a side of slaw. The Mahi Mahi was flavorful and firm servers with asparagus and sliced carrots on a bed of rice with a buttery sauce. For desert we had the most wonderful Bed Pudding ala mode.

DELICIOUS!! One of the, if not the best places to eat in G-burg. The Salmon and asparagus was seasoned perfectly. Nice atmosphere and close to everything.

We ordered a seafood platter which wasn't bad but I prefer Red Lobster over this.

Mediocre food for outrageous prices. The kids did enjoy the Forrest Gump trivia.

  • Juli S.

While in town, we went to Bubba Gump's twice. The kids liked it and wanted to try different things. The net shrimp with Garlic is very good. The shrimp is cooked in a pot with garlic and is brought to the table in the pot. They dump it on your plate and you use the pot for the peels. We also ordered the Shrimper's Heaven the first visit and shared it. There was coconut shrimp, chilly shrimp, shrimp tempura and fried shrimp. It also came with fries and cole slaw. We also shared the ice cream cookie dessert, which was huge and delicious. The next visit my daughter tried the stuffed shrimp and my son had the boat load of trash. The "trash" came in a bucket. There was fish, shrimp and lobster tails. It also came with fries and slaw. My husband had the net shrimp with garlic again. I stuck with the Shrimper's heaven. We had a great experience and would definitely go there again. The waiters are very attentive. Each table has a license plate that says "Run, Forrest, Run" and one that says "Stop, Forrest, Stop". When you need or want something you flip up the plate that says stop and the first waiter that sees it stops to see what you want and you are taken care of immediately. Also, while we were waiting the waiter came over and asked us trivia questions about the movie. He was entertaining and gave us insight into the movie. Both experiences were great and the kids love going there. The only drawback is the price. It is very expensive to eat there. If you want to add a salad to your dinner it is an extra charge of almost $5 which I think is a lot for a side salad. For what the dinners cost, it seems like a salad could be included or have a lesser charge. Add drinks to the dinners and you will have a large bill.

  • Brandon K.

It was a good meal. Nothing to special. Hardly nobody was around so service was excellent. I would go back. Shrimp fan

    (4)
  • Spencer H.

Drinks are overpriced, as well as the food. Food portions are tiny, We went elsewhere afterwards to get more to eat. The service was however semi decent. The drinks were delicious but a scotch and soda should not cost $9. Look elsewhere for a family or couples dinner. Will not return.

    (2)
  • Judy W.

Overpriced but friendly staff. Ordered the seafood platter consisting of fried shrimp, fried fish and hush puppies. Tasty but not worth $20. Party of two (no drinks or desserts) $60!!!!

    (3)
  • Robert M.

went late, around 11 PM. told there was a wait unless we want to sit at the bar. Go in and place is half full. Sit at the bar. Fast service. Order the bourbon shrimp. Seriously 6 shrimp and sausage for $18. Better value to be had.

  • Barbara K.

Disappointed. Out if 2 different wines we tried to order. It's only 6:30pm on a Saturday night. I was in town with girl friends for the weekend. OK tourist type restaurant and our waitress was engaging asking us questions about the Forest Gump movie. Food nothing spectacular. Beware, when menu says spicy they mean it!

  • Jesse W.

I've eaten at Bubba Gumps in Long Beach, San Francisco, Maui, and now Gatlinburg Tn. I've never been disappointed in the food or the service. Today I had the coconut shrimp. I'm not much on fried foods but it sure was delicious!

  • Megan M.

If I could rate less than a one star I would. This place was awful!!!!!! First if you get a drink and it says you can keep the glass, you will pay $12 for it and the glass is actually $4! It comes out in a pilsner glass and your keep sake glass is a pint glass. We had a person in put party that doesn't really care for seafood so he got a burger. The cheddar cheese on the burger was translucent and looked like it had been sitting under a heating lamp for 10 hours! It was so horrible and I would not recommend even trying the place. It is a waste of your money.

    (1)
  • Terri H.

Fun place to eat and the staff is entertaining. You will definitely want to brush up on your Forest Gump trivia. The waiter/ waitress will ask you trivia questions based on the movie to see if you know the answers. The food was ok but not excellent. The stuffed trout was on the dry side and the shrimp was lacking flavor. Food wasn't worth the price. I was really hoping the food would be good because this place was fun. I may give it another try in the future and hope they improve.

    (2)
  • Mickey D.

They did an awesome job. The food was great. Restaurant was clean and servers were both funny and awesome at taking care of us. Had the shrimp and it was awesome! Overall for the service this place does wonders!

    (5)
  • Katherine F.

4 overall, 5 for service! service was fantastic, and we walked right up with out having to wait. Food was delicious, we both tried the shrimpers heaven and especially liked the coconut shrimp. I have been to a few other Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. and this one was the best run one by far!

    (4)
  • Thongsy S.

Mmmm mmmm. All kinds of shrimp and any way you want it made. And the best part, you get to relive all of the Forest Gump movie. I quite enjoyed the theme there. They use license plates as service tools to call the waiters' attention for service 'stop forest stop' or something to that effect OR 'run forest run' to signify that you're doing ok and don't need assistance. I ordered the shrimp scampi pasta - delicios! And my friend ordered the fish and for a shrimp place, it was rockin' too. The place gets crazy busy though!

    (5)
  • Keith H.

This place was pretty good. I had the coconut shrimp, it was very delicious. The waiter was friendly, he even asked my family and I a Forrest Gump trivia question. The service was speedy. The atmosphere was cool, too!

    (4)
  • Mike G.

Ok. The good. The food is pretty good. They got these hush puppies that are delicious. The service is decent. The bad. Its pretty crowded as you could imagine a theme restaurant would be and even though the food is pretty good the portions are not very big. The ugly. We ordered calamari to start the show. We reminded our waiter about our order and only remembers that our appetizer was never brought to us when he is serving us our meals. He informs us that he is going to drop the appetizer from our bill as we don't want it anymore. So... the bill comes and not only am I dropping close to eighty bucks for good but small portioned meals (remember paying for the ambiance) the appetizer is still on the bill. It seems that if the waiter made a mistake and the bill has to be altered, they have to list a reason why and the manager has to address you. The manager was very professional and offered a free whatever we wanted to make it up to us. We passed as their professional and friendly response to the matter was enough for us.

    (3)
  • Jim D.

Not a very meal at all, service was extremely slow and the meals came out cold. It was not busy so there was no obvious excuse for this type meal. This is my last trip to Bubba's.

    (2)
  • Josh C.

I was really disappointed with this bubba gump's. The cajun spice peel and eat shrimp tasted like straight butter and was cold. The server was a douche from Russia that made me want to punch him in the throat. I had a really good experience at the one in Hawaii a few years ago but this was far from a enjoyable time. The only reason I'm giving it 2 stars is the southern breaded shrimp was tasty and the second server that kept me from going rocky IV on mother Russia.

    (2)
  • Lindsay T.

Went her the second day of our honeymoon, I had the shrimp over lemon pasta, which was really good but it was maybe 6 medium shrimp over 1 cup of pasta for 16.99....not worth it. My husbands dish was cold this little to no taste. The waitress running around was more attentive to us then the one who was actually assigned to our table so that was also a bit disappointing.

    (2)
  • Sherrie B.

Food was awesome and the waitress was friendly and we will definitely eat here again we were up there about a month ago

  • Jennifer E.

We dined at Bubba Gump's in Gatlinberg. All four in our party liked what we ordered. I had Jenny's talapia with spinach and mashed potatoes served with a lobster butter sauce. My dish was good. The only complaint I had was they were out of spinach and didn't mention it until I asked about it several minutes after being served. It cost about $110 for the four of us to eat. Our server, Immanuel, was wonderful. Overall it was a good meal and we would go back.

Wish I would have checked Yelp before I went! Never again and I will warn everyone I know. Probably not a worse restaurant in town. I ordered Shrimp n Grits, usually my favorite. It should have been called andouille sausage and greasy cheese sauce. Terrible. There were 6 pieces of shrimp on my plate and about 25 half slices of sausage. I can only assume the grits were under there somewhere as I could not see them because the plate was covered end to end with a cheese sauce with grease puddles in it. Definitely not worth $15.95. The other reviewers are dead on with the ridiculous drink prices. This place definitely puts more effort into their theme than their food. The bill for 2 was $56 before tip. I wish I had just had a $4 corn dog from Fannie Farkle's.

I Love visiting Bubba Gump's every chance I can! We stopped in around noon on a Thursday so it was slow. Our service was very fast and our waitress was energetic and very accommodating. I ordered the "I'm stuffed shrimp" and as always it was awesome! My husband ordered Forest's Bucket of boat trash, which was good. Pretty expensive for the amount you get, but we're fatty's. I was somewhat disappointed in the merchandise store, not much to look at compared to the other stores. Overall it was a good experience.

The first thing I thought of when I met our waiters, was oh I can't wait to get on YELP for this. I guess our first mistake was choosing to sit on the balcony where we had an obnoxious duo as our waiters. They were loud and obnoxious, sat down at every table to take your orders and attempted to crack jokes and get you involved, when I said no to partaking in me acting as the waiter to my boyfriend they egged me on (wtf?!) I dropped the center piece over that was on the table by mistake and they made a big deal, pointed me out and acted like I needed to leave- all joking of course, but what. the hell?! Leave us alone, take our order and let us eat our over priced shrimp platter that did not have enough shrimp on it to be called "shrimpers heaven" I have been to two bubba gump shrimp cos before and yes I knew the food would be not that cheap, but the nice not in your face waiters and atmosphere made up for it. We didn't spend any time inside the restaurant, but I know it is a cutely themed restaurant but I wish we went across the street to dicks, mellow mush room or just one of the other many restaurants but my love for shrimp and Forrest Gump couldn't keep me away. I know the 5 hours I just drove helped with my sour mood, but these guys seriously deserved a blast. If you like seafood, forrest gump, and don't mind paying more for what you get, and hoping you don't get the waiters we did- then this is the place for you.

Cliche, touristy, but the food is great! I highly recommend the peel and eat shrimp!

Walked into the restaurant after scouring Gatlinburg during a slow Monday evening. We were greeted by a host that said little and walked off without acknowledging us. Our waiter was an arrogant Russian (mentioned in a previous review by another customer) that managed to offend my wife with some of his comments. He seemed to have a script and wasn't very interactive with us. We ordered the Onion Rings as an appetizer, which were fantastic. The BBQ sauce complemented them very well. For entrees I ordered the "Bucket of Boat Trash" (very unappealing name), which left a lot to be desired portion-wise, given the $20 price associated with it. The entree comes in a large bucket, but the bucket is only partially filled with fries, a few pieces of fried shrimp, and "lobster" legs. My wife had a sampler as an entree, and overall we were very pleased with it. Summary: Bad service. Excellent appetizers. Poor/overpriced entrees. This was our first Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. experience, and we probably won't be visiting any of them again. The $50 bill that we had for two entrees and an appetizer wasn't worth it.

  • Stephanie K.

We give this place a 4.0. The service and the food were GREAT. We ordered the Jambalaya and the Tilapia with lobster butter (yum- yum). We would definitely go visit this place again, if we come across another Bubba Gump Shrimp restaurant while traveling.

    (4)
  • Jackie T.

Shrimp was very good. Atmosphere was great. Probably could get good shrimp dishes at another restaurant with same quality and little less exspensive. Would I go back. Maybe. I have no reason not to. Service was excellent also.

  • Angela P.

Less than 1 star. Mediocre food, small portions with an average price ranging at $20/person. Advertising calls for certain drinks allowing you to keep the glass. Your drink comes out in a nice pilsner or cocktail glass and costs 12 dollars. However when you go down giftstore to redeem your "free glass" that it shows broken out on the bill as 5 dollars out of the $12 your drink is priced at (no option to just pay for cocktail) you don't even get the actual glass your drink came in. They give you a generic pint glass instead. There are tons of restaurants to choose ft in this area- skip this one.

  • Jon E.

My wife and I visited here for the first time in early April and were seated in about 15 minutes for dinner (8:00 PM). The staff was very friendly and we thought the service was very good. I had Shrimp and Grits and my wife had "I'm Stuffed" shrimp and crab with cheese. Both were excellent and very filling. We shared a shrimp cocktail appetizer and though the portion plus prawn size was excellent. All that plus two drinks ran about $65. That seemed very reasonable to us especially since we're in a tourism-based town.

First time eating at a Bubba Gumps and a last time too. This food is awful. I'll gladly take Red Lobster or even Long John Silvers food and pricing in relation to quality. Bland fried food and the steamed shellfish was steamed to the point it was tough and tasteless. Poor just simply poor for the price.

I had never been to a Bubba Gump's until this day. Overall, it was a fun experience. Our waitress was nice, fast, polite. The food was pretty good. I got the Pear & Berry Salad with shrimp. No one at our table had any complaints. Good service, good food.

I wish I could give no stars, but I can't.. Wish we had better things to say about this restaurant. It's overpriced for the amount of food that you get here, but it's a nice, clean place to eat,the staff is courteous, and friendly. We won't be back here unfortunately.

I was kind of expecting a cookie cutter experience with bored servers and bartenders who were just getting their shifts. I was really surprised. We sat at the bar and Becka (I believe, I cant remember her name) was so helpful, kind and nice. She told us where the locals go, fun things we shouldnt miss, things we could miss and made margaritas that were pretty amazing. Thanks!

The only reason that we've been here (once before) and visited again was because we love the movie, Forrest Gump. The food is average. Service is good and it's always fun when they ask you trivia questions about the movie. We started with the Seafood Hush Pups - sounded so promising but they just didn't deliver. Very basic hush puppies with minimal crab. The dipping sauce wasn't very good either. My husband had the Steamed Shellfish pot (wasn't impressed), my son had the Mama's Southern Fried Chicken (nice and crispy) and I had the Shrimper's Heaven. Really, the only shrimp that I enjoyed was the tempura. Plus, the dipping sauces were just okay and the cups needed to be deeper. Hard to "dip" shrimp in a shallow cup. It was a fun experience though and they have an awesome gift shop.

So we are on vacation to celebrate my birthday in Gatlinburg TN, and ran across Bubba Gump. We have eaten at Bubba Gump in Chicago IL, and it was quite remarkable experience, So we tried this location. When we entered, we were greeted promptly, and ask for a booth for 3. So they seat us at a table for 6 people. The place was not crowded at all. So we asked again for a booth near the window. They reluctant granted the request, except the sat us in a booth in the middle of the restaurant. Once again we asked them for a booth by the window. We had walked by 5 booths to get where they wanted us to sit, Once again they seated us, after asking management if it was ok to seat us there. Round two.- So the waiter come over (Sean), whose English language needs a lot of attention. We could not understand what he was telling us. We asked repeatable for him to repeat himself. We asked questions about how spicy certain items are, and he said not spicy. So I ordered Captain's Fish & Chips. I had it before, and it was quite tasty.. So the dish came, and it was so spicy that I could not eat it. The manager came by to check on us, which was nice, and we told him that the Fish & Chips and the Chicken Gumbo soup was insanely spicy. So the manager took off my meal. Oh by the way, when I had this in Chicago, the fish was Cod or White Fish. Here it is Tilapia. Not the same kind of fish for sure. This is our second visit to Gatlinburg in less than 2 months. We like to visit this great town, however we will not be coming back to Bubba Gump Gatlinburg, even if it was the only eating establishment in Gatlinburg TN.. We normally write short and to the point reviews, but this place we needed more. This place really needs a zero rating, but Yelp is not set up for that.

I wish we had a Bubba Gump in Indianapolis! The Tempura shrimp and coconut shrimp were excellent. The cool laid back vibe in the area adds to the fun of this place. The wait staff is awesome and on top of the game. It was super busy when we stopped in but the wait was only like 10 minutes. The food was awesome.

Emmanuel at the upstairs bar made our experience so pleasant. He was so attentive and great spirited. We visited on a Holiday Weekend, night before labor day so was packed. Was as amazing to watch how he balanced the general orders for the wait staffs drinks, waited on all of us sitting at the bar (food and drinks) and accomplished all so timely with a smile the entire time. Ordered the stuffed shrimp, was very tasty. We Would come back just because of him reinstating my faith in true customer service-Awesome job Eman!

We always eat at Bubba Gump's. The staff has always been friendly and the servers have always been excellent. We've eaten here at least 10 times over the years, and while they are marked 2$$ they are seafood so market prices change. I have never ordered anything that wasn't awesome from this location. Their stuffed shrimp are excellent! If you plan on having one expensive meal while here I recommend Gump's for seafood. Their bar is also great and their drinks don't have the usual "tourist" prices that most others have.

We went to Bubba Gump's for one of my Birthday celebrations, AFTER having a HORRIBLE dinner at Dolce Uva Wine Cafe-- Crap Cafe... The only person in the entire restaurant worth talking good about though, was the Host... who was VERY friendly, and gave us trivia on the movie before he would seat us. This was FUN! I LOVED Forrest Gump! The food was DELICIOUS as was my Blue Lemonade alcoholic drink-- $10 BUT you get a souvenir glass to take home with you!!! And I really enjoyed the sign changing to get the servers attention... I think EVERY restaurant should hone in on this idea... I HATE being in the middle of a bite... or a private conversation... only to be interrupted by a server. So the signs are just genius. Where I only give this 2 stars was for the service we received. After the awesome Host (who i wish we could have had as a server) ... we waited almost 10 minutes before we saw ANYONE else. Finally what looked to be a cook dropping off another tables drinks, FINALLY came over and asked if we'd been helped. and the COOK took our drink orders. When our waitress finally came, she was pretty rude, and didnt even really talk to us. (We'd never been here and i was looking FWD to the other reviews about the trivia and whatnot) NOR did she care when my BF told her we were there to celebrate my bday. Oh well... the Shrimp was fantastic, and the drink i had was one of the BEST alcoholic drinks ive EVER had, so i'd go back... Just not to expect friendly service. I'd go back for the food though MOST definitely

Bubba Gump seafood is what you would expect from a cookie-cutter seafood restaurant. It offers the "best" seafood the mountains had to offer. Gets very busy on a Saturday night, so unless you want to sit on the patio you should come early. Wait staff is foreign, which was somewhat interesting when it was loud. Overall wasn't too bad. Prices were fair and the rice that came with the seafood was amazing!

3.5 stars rounds up to 4. We visited on a late afternoon for a snack and a drink as a respite from the rainy Parkway. I was on vacation with my two kids (alone), and mommy needed a beer after that Ripley's Haunted House. It took a while for anyone to take our order, but the restaurant was nowhere full- not even half- so perhaps they were low on staff. My kid ordered sliders so bad that they didn't even want to take them home. My coconut shrimp were pretty good, fries are typical. The beer was good, and the ambiance is low key. Don't pin your romantic dinner down here, come by if it doesn't work out.

Been to bubba gump before in Chicago and it was excellent, but this location was a disappointment. No one told the waiter that we were seated, so it took 10+ minutes before we even got our drink orders in even though we had the stop sign down. Only six of our party of eight got their food, we had to chase down a staff member to get our other two meals. Most of our party seemed to enjoy the food once it arrived, but I did not enjoy my scrimp scampi. They did comp two of our meals, which is very good service, but I would have much preferred excellent service throughout instead of the free dinners.

Terrible service. I have been to this chain before and never felt ignored previously. My dish was not described as spicy but it was. The waiter went so far as to say it wasn't. Finally manager came and removed it from bill after dining companions had finished their meals. What a disappointment! Someone (like everyone there) needs to undergo retraining and soon.

Great experience and amazing shrimp! I have always wanted to eat here, but with none local to me, I haven't had the chance until now. A great shrimp selection as well as a gift store. Bubba's is a bit pricey, but with the portions, well worth it.

    (4)
  • Tiffany P.

Great place to eat. Great atmosphere. Only complaint was the waiter asking us trivia questions about the movie Forest Gump while we were trying to eat. He could have done this before our food arrived. The gift shop wasn't over priced which was a relief.

I sooo wish I had one of these closer to me. The coconut shrimp is just absolutely fantastic. My mother ordered the shrimp scampi which is amazing great and my dad had a really good bbq burger. They don't have Dr. Pepper which is a real let down since it was Forrest's favorite! I got a lemonade that was really weak so I added some sugar packs which helped a little. Overall it's a very nice restaurant.

This place is a solid "ok". My mom was excited to try it because she loves the movie and they don't have one where we live. It was clean and decorated w quirky stuff from the movie, etc. I'm sure each store is a carbon copy. They sell branded shirts, etc. The menu had all the normal expectations (shrimp, of course, burgers and such). The pricing was normal middle of the road and not too expensive. Pros -It's a chain, so there's likely some consistency. Cons - It's a chain, so there are no neat and/ or weird recipes. Waitstaff was slightly overburdened, leaving empty drinks idle too long. They do have a "call signal" setup on the table that gives the ability to alert you have a need, but I find that ridiculous. Just ask once in a while and fill the empty glasses. Waitstaff was also nice and attempted to be helpful. Although my waitress evidently had never eaten there because her answer to how is "insert anything", was "I don't know. I've never eaten it but it looks good when I serve it". After the meal she did come over and play some "gump trivia" w us. That was fun. While I'd love to be able to recommend, I can't unless there's not really anything else available.

The food was delicious. I don't normally eat shrimp, the fried shrimp was not chewy and I ate an entire order!! I had fried fish and my husband had grilled chicken we were so full from the appetizer and drinks that we could not complete our entire meals! Our serving sizes were nice They made it a priority to seat our party of 8. We had our own private room where we enjoyed each other's company! We accidentally had our sign flipped requesting a server and they were very attentive! While we waited for our dessert our server played trivia with us and of course it was all Forrest Gump and/or Tom Hank's questions and it was so much fun! The best question ever: what was Forrest Gump's dog's name and I answered- Forrest... Hey wait did Forrest have a dog? The server stated there was no dog, he was just trying to keep us on our toes! Best experience, we cannot wait to visit again!

Really enjoyed the meal, we ate here at lunch. The decor ties in with the movie. I had the bbq shrimp app as my entree, my husband & son had the shrimp po' boy and my daughter had the spicy chicken sandwich. We also ordered the Hushpuppies (they had shrimp, fish, crab and corn in them). My shrimp was delicious served with a few slices of French bread, spicy and full of flavor. I tried a bite of my husbands po' boy and it was great. The food is a little pricy for the amount you get and service can be slow sometimes. Over all worth it, stay away from the gift shop unless you want to spend more, after our $50+ lunch, we spent 120$ in it. Couldn't help myself, love Forrest Gump!

Friendly staff, we had the pear berry salad which was good, typical Bubba gump food and atmosphere, We would go back

I went here with my husband on Halloween night. It was busy but we didn't have to wait more than ten minutes to be seated. The staff was dressed up in fun costumes as well as many of the patrons. It was pretty loud in there but not more than you'd expect in a bar-like atmosphere. The food was pretty tasty. I ordered the fish and chips but didn't care for the batter on the fish that much. It wasn't bad but it was heavier than I would have liked. My husband ordered the Lt. Dan Drunken Shrimp and we both thought that was pretty good. What made our experience fun and something I'd like to have again was the atmosphere. This whole place is dedicated to the movie Forrest Gump and while I hadn't seen the movie in over a decade, it was still fun. The servers offer movie trivia at the table and they have a nifty sign system worked out where if you need something you flip a sign on the table that says Stop Forrest Stop. We didn't need to use it though because our server was incredibly attentive even without the sign. Overall a good experience. It's definitely touristy but the price is reasonable and the food is good.

Very great atmosphere and service. Many seafood options are available, as well as alcoholic beverages. The Jambalaya was great as well as the Cajun shrimp.

Pretty much the dtandard tourist Bubba Gumps, average food but you're here for the novelty that wore off 10 years ago. Really the only thing on the menu I can rave about is the hush puppies...nothing really bad here just nothing outstanding.

  • Tom G.

Went here our last night. It was OK, had better had worse. You pretty much know what to expect at Bubba Gump's, regardless of location. Agree with some other Yelpers... the shrimp seem to be DBA Red Lobster size and taste.

I usually go to Gatlinburg about once a year or more, and I have seen and heard about Bubba Gump's but didn't visit until recently. This place is always popular, but on the fourth of July weekend, it was especially so. I was actually surprised when I heard it was a only a ten minute wait. My friends and I decided to head upstairs to the bar, and told the host guy out front, that we were doing this. He said they would notify us when our table is ready (they don't do the buzzer thing for some reason). We waited a while, then my friend went to check on our table, and was told we were coming up soon. Another 20 minutes or so went by and we had to check again and found out they had crossed through our name, We finally were able to grab a table but it was more like 40 minutes than the 10 we were initially told, so they need to do a better job of determining a wait time. The tables are small and cramped, and it is very loud (If you want a nice quite intimate place, this isn't it). I ordered the shrimp and grits. It took quite a while for the food to come out, but they were very busy. The dish was good, but not the best version of S&G that I have had or even close. It was filling though and I enjoyed the Forrest Gump trivia and themes as it is one of my favorite movies. I might return to Bubba Gumps, but again it is loud, cramped, and overpriced. In other words your typical tourist trap type restaurant.

We look forward to eating here every time we come to Gatlinburg. We had 6 in our group, everyone had something different, chicken sandwich, salad, hamburger, fried shrimp, & I had shrimp New Orleans. Everything was delicious, especially the shrimp New Orleans. It had just the right amount of spice, fantastic bread, I could eat it every day!

  • Mayar K.

We waited for 5 minutes before we were seated. Everyone is really nice, extremely nice. This place is very crowded and loud. Food was okay but less than what I expected. Shrimp Mac and Cheese is super good but had only 3 tiny pieces of shrimp. Our main meals were expensive for the amount of food we received. We ordered also alcoholic drinks that were $12 each and didn't taste any alcohol added to them. Even if you come on vacation, you don't have to accept any bad drinks or bad food. I expect these places to present the best dishes not take advantage of people.

Posto molto bello e cibo buono ma porzioni scarse paragonato al prezzo. Nice place and good food but not large portion compared to the high price...

Our entree's (Shrimp Po-Boy and Fish and chips) were essentially tasteless. The bread on my sandwich was inedible. My seafood gumbo was good and the French Fries were good. Service was ok, but everyone seemed to be just going through the motions.

Awesome! My first time at the Tennessee location and it was a great experience! Warm greeting by the host, our waitresses Irina, was attentive and friendly and played the trivia game with us! I ordered the shrimp mac and cheese..... it was great! I loved it and would definitely order it again! I also had the jambalaya! I already knew what I was getting into when I ordered that because I had it before in Orlando! It's spicy and filed worth meat, sausage, chicken, and of course shrimp! My husband had the shrimp and grits and he gives it 2 thumbs up! Needless to say we are stuffed and satisfied! Overall great customer service, and food!

We enjoyed our first visit to a Bubba Gump. The atmosphere was fun and memorable for my wife and I. Although our kids have never seen Forrest Gump they were intrigued and by the time our server came around for a trivia game my 12-year-old answered almost all of the questions based on the conversations we had. It is not tat I am proud he knows this bit of Americana, but rather I enjoyed the amount of conversation that we enjoyed as a family regardless of topic. The food was very enjoyable, the service was spot-on, and if you park in the lot behind the restaurant for $8 you get $8.49 off of an appetizer or kid's meal. Basically it is like free parking if you would have ordered the appetizer anyway. The restaurant probably loses its novelty after the first visit, but if you have never been then I recommend you stop in for a fun time.

Wow!!! If you love shrimp this is where to go!! We had so much spring! My party of four had New Orleans Shrimp, fish and chips, fried fish and my husband had a big bucket with potatoes, celery Carots, corn and lots of Cajun shrimp. Waiter was great. Strawberry lemonade is homemade and wonderful. Other friends and told us that this was an sometimes good, sometimes not so good... We are very happy to say the food and service were GREAT

We had dinner here tonight and had a wonderful experience. We only had to wait 5 minutes or so for a table which is unusual, the wait is usually much longer but it was a Monday night early in the evening. Our server Candy was a delight. My husband and I shared an appetizer that had fried shrimp, a spinach artichoke dip, seafood hush puppies, peel and eat shrimp and spicy chicken strips. The dipping sauce was phenomenal. We then had crab stuffed shrimp and fish and chips. Everything we bit into was delicious. The food was served in a reasonable time frame, nice and hot and so flavorful and fresh. We will definitely be back!

And this place had me at the Calamari. It was the best Calamari I have had! The drinks were good too! And it is a fun and silly atmosphere.

We ate here March 31. The food was good. I got a shrimp poboy and asked for remoulade sauce on the side. The sauce was distinctive and tasty. My wife got the Jenny speciality. She ate every tasty bite. With bubba hump you get three things, great food, awesome atmosphere, and happy servers. The servers always seem to enjoy there job which helps customers enjoy their time. I would recommend any bubba gump I have been to and this one was great as well.

Good atmosphere, service depends on who you get. Our server "Jenny" was good. Recommend the Lt. Dan Drunken Shrimp.

This was my first time eating there and the food was wonderful! I had the stuffed shrimp over rice, Very Good!!! My servers name was Duncan, very nice and attentive to my needs, if you don't like servers that are always smiling, eager to answer any questions and very friendly then you don't need to have Duncan wait on you. One thing this restaurant has that I wish all restaurants had is a nice system to get your servers attention, they have two signs on the table, one says "go Forest go" and the next one says "stop Forest stop" if you want your server to stop at your table, you turn over the sign that is red and says "stop Forest stop" and your server will stop at your table. I ate there on a Saturday evening, so of course it was going to be loud, but the excellent meal I had more then made up for it.

We decided to come here durring our spring break trip with our three children. The atmosphere is... AMAZING! Tons of Forrest Gump stuff everywhere even the drink menu is made from a ping pong paddle! The kids enjoyed their meals and there is plenty of options to choose from for even the picky eaters! There is also a ton of options to choose from. It is delicious food! The sever was fantasic and asked us trivia from the movie which was so much fun! I would most defiantly suggest this place to anyone and will 100% being going back to another one of these resturaunts the first chance I get!

  • Sara R.

The only reason we came here is because of the atmosphere. We are big fans of Forest Gump so we were really excited that there was a Bubba Gump in Gatlinburg. And as expected, we were not disappointed by that. The food was good; I wouldn't know about how the seafood taste since I just got a salad(I'm a vegetarian). I also got the dessert sampler and I thought it was a really good size if you want something smaller than the actual size of the desserts(because trust me they are huge). The service was fine even though it was a little slow since it was crowded. All in all I had a good time there. If your a big Forrest Gump fan I highly recommend it. If your not that big of a fan, then it's worth a try.

Just back from Gatlinburg. And I am a select landry club member. Meaning I get seated guickly. Others waiting on tables get fussy but staff explain and it is an excellent example to sell membership's. I had mommas garlic bread basket and cajun shrimp while I worked on my blood orange margarita. Loved the bread and Cajon shrimp. main dish of shrimp and rice. shrimp not to spicy and bland rice. wished I had known I could have been happy with the Cajun shrimp app. Played along with the trivia game. I've watched the movie enough I faired good enough to impress the staff and other diners knew answers when there turn came. I enjoyed the shrimp so much I ditched the family hopped a trolley and went back and dined alone. Eating at the same place twice on vacation is rare. But it was worth it.

  • Ashton B.

Great service and great food. The fish and chips is what I had and it was perfectly battered. Their tartar sauce was delicious. The fish was moist and well seasoned. The fries were not my favorite but they were good. I would definitely recommend eating here.

I wasn't very impressed with this restaurant. We went with a group and I know that generally presents some challenges with service so I give lattitude in that area. Our service while polite wasn't as attentive as I would like but it was OK. The food was very much in line with a chain restaurant. Nothing in particular stood out. It's sort of like the Applebee's of Cajun food LOL. Everything is sort of set to be crowd pleasing so it's not unique and tasty. I did enjoy my cocktail and received the souveneir glass LOL. Although it's situated in a touristy area next visit I will choose something different and more unique. I'm just not a middle of the road kind of guy I like to take it off road LOL!!

Atmosphere was very fun. Servers play heavily into theme. Food was excellent. Cost was average for the area. Definitely worth a stop.

Okay, so I get it - It's a tourist trap restaurant smack dab in the middle of the main Gatlinburg shopping district. Playing off the classic 'country bumpkin' film, Forrest Gump. Whatever. So, I'm there, I'm hungry and it was either this or the place where you get screamed at (Dick's Last Resort, not McDonalds....this time) and I opt for Bubba's. If you find yourself here there's two things I can forewarn you about - The staff has to play Forrest Gump trivia with you, like, no excuses it must happen. They don't like it anymore than you do. True story. Depending on when you go, you'll find that the place is balls to the wall packed. I was there around lunch time and it was not too bad, but walking past it later in the evening had me wondering exactly what is the appeal of this place? I mean, other than the movie tie-in? I've had better seafood from Captain D's! Everything I had (fish and shrimp) was very bland and uninspired. The prices are unreasonable and in the time it would take you to get a table during a busy night you could drive across town and have Joe's Crab Shack with less wait and better prices. Skip it.

Exceptional food! Lava Flow drink and mac and cheese are Awesome! Maria was our server and we will certainly ask for her next time we are there, she is a great server and made our experience fun with trivia!

If you haven't been to Gatlinburg let me drop some knowledge on you: it's crazy with tons of people and it looks like the noah's ark of Wal-mart crashed nearby. Well, why then were we there? Because there's a ton of stuff to do for tourists and it's a place everyone should experience. We came here for lunch and I was expecting a long wait because there were so many people around. I don't know if it's that they run a tight ship or we got lucky in our timing but the four of us were seated relatively quickly. Our server was great, personable without being over zealous. I engaged him in conversation and he was great, entertained the kids and handled a crowded place like a champ. The food was delicious and didn't give off the fast food vibe. I was very satisfied and the kids loved it. We would come back again any time.

    (4)

Not impressed at all the food was nothing to talk about and the service was just ok. I was really excited when I saw the line off people to get in, but was disappointed real quick

  • Julie L.

I know it's a chain - but we just love Bubba Gump. It is a consistent, friendly, fun experience, especially at the Gatlinburg location. It was a crazy busy night (black Friday) but they got people in within 30 mins. The shrimp and crab was good. Specialty drinks even better. My kids have no idea what Forrest Gump is so our server gave them Spongebob trivia questions. They loved it. He was awesome.

    (4)
  • Larra B.

I had a shrimp pasta. The pasta was way too "limoney". The pasta was also rubbery. The shrimp was ok. The salad was ok but very little cheese or dressing. The margarita was "watered down". My husband enjoyed his shrimp scampi. I also felt rushed. Would probably not eat here again. Overpriced and felt ripped off.

I received a message from Corporate apologizing for my experience within a day of my review. That is awesome!!! Me and my family have been to multiple Bubbas' in the past. This was no different in the food and how the staff interacted with the customers. Me and my father shared 'The Steamed Shellfish'. Which was REALLY good. With the clams, crab legs, lobster claw, shrimp, muscles, cheese bread & jasmine rice. My mom got the 'Shrimp & Grits' which I tasted and it was pretty good. My sister got the 'Popcorn Shrimp' and that was also really good. We will always go to a Bubba Gump's!!!! There also is no smoking for those who are curious.

Loved the movie Forest Gump and then to find a restaurant named after it.. with all the walls filled with quotes from the movie and pictures etc... It was great... The food was great... I have attached some pictures.. I kind of gobbled up mine very quickly as it tasted good :-) The service was great... They had a nice way of letting the server know when we needed service and when we were doing good.. They had 2 number plates on the table " Run Forest Run" and "Stop Forest Stop".. The former meaning that we are good and the latter meaning that we need FOOD and anything else :-).. They also had a cool way of bringing their glasses of water.. You can check it out for yourself when you visit the place.. ;-) The shrimp was great.. I ordered the Accidental fish and shrimp, my wife ordered Bourbon Street Mahi Mahi, my cousin ordered jambalaya.. and it all tasted really good.. They have 2 levels and even outdoor balcony seating on the upper level.. The wait times were like 5 to 10 minutes..

The food is always great. Beer cold. Appetizers a "little" overpriced but with food that good, I guess quality makes it worth it.

    (4)
  • Anthony M.

I liked the place. It was quirky and stuck to the theme. There's trivia at the table about the movie. The food is good. I got the jambalaya and the wife got the forest catch or something. I liked my jambalaya and she enjoyed her catch as well. No big complaints. Accomplishes the theme and food it projects.

Great experience!! This is a fun place to eat. They do trivia with you about the movie. They also did a really cute skit for a couple on their anniversary and got the whole place involved. The food isn't bad either. But we come for the experience more than the food. It's a lot of fun.

Had a very good meal and a fun time with my family. The staff was very attentive to our needs including my sons allergies. Tried and liked: Fried shrimp Mashed potatoes and gravy Tried and loved: Seafood fritters Fried white fish (fish and chips) Tried and despised: Tempura shrimp Brush up on your Gump trivia and have a good time.

Ken our waiter was fabulous and made our last lunch in Tennessee one that we won't forget! Great drinks, good food and much thought and care into his start to finish with us!!! We knew we had the best waiter in the place today and were grateful for that!!! It was refreshing to see someone truly love his interaction with folks and takes great pride in his work!!! My kids loved his attention to them in not making them feel "like little kids" giving them attention too!!! Ken is spectacular and a true asset to bubba gumps in tn!!!! Food was great too- ;) but Ken made it that way!!!

We visit for the Shrimper's Heaven every time we're in Gatlinburg, and this year we went twice! The food is always consistent and delicious but the service is usually slightly obnoxious. They like to do trivia and one year we really tried to make it clear we weren't in the mood but she wouldn't let up - I could have shoved a shrimp in her mouth. This is expensive but it's worth it. Love the movie, love the shrimp! The Bloody Mary's were also fantastic! I also enjoy sitting on their balcony.

    (5)
  • Becca B.

You come here for the movie tie-in not the food. The food was OK but nothing special and pretty expensive. The theme is cute and the service was good even on a busy night. I recommend picking up a coupon at your hotel for a free appetizer or kids meal with purchase of 2 adult entrees. Save some money and get to try more things! Be sure to check out the gift shop and get your picture on "the bench".

Not much food for the price. Mahi mahi was pretty good. Service was ok, we were kind of ignored. Oh well. We would eat at this chain again. Just not in this location.

  • Keri W.

I love bubba gump! The food was cooked perfectly and the staff was attentive and friendly (as long as you know about the run and stop signs on the table) the trivia questions we didn't care for but our waiter made it short and left us to our food. The beer/alcohol was very pricey! We had the I'm stuffed shrimp (amazing) and a guacamole chicken sandwich(very tasty). It wasn't at all busy either!

  • Mitch W.

We went with a group of 12 ranging in ages of 4-84 and had a great time. Very commercial seafood and nothing great but I had lt dans surf and turf and the ribs were fantastic. Most of my family had fried shrimp, peel and eat shrimp, etc. a little overpriced but you are paying for the experience as much as the food. Brush up on your Forrest Gump trivia before you go as you will be quizzed.

    (4)
  • R M.

Had not been there for awhile since it seemed portions had shrunk last time but I had a hankering for some barbecue shrimp. No luck. Asked for a table and I am told they are full. Downstairs was closed but no wait time or anything. She tells Manager we want to eat and then she tells us Sorry, we are full. Last time for me. I prefer local establishments and this is why. Oh well, Im sure Capt. Dan will not be pleased if he hears about this.

Stupid is as Stupid does. I've seen Bubba Gump Shrimp Companies all the time but never tried one. Decided to change that today. Ordered the Drunk Lt. Dan's Shrimp, it was great but the portions were very small for the price. So that might be disappointing for some of you. Wife got the shrimp BLT, which is basically lettuce drenched in ranch with a couple of shrimp tossed on top of it. The shrimp were really good though. We went when it was very busy so it took some time but the server was very cheerful and helpful. I've noticed some people complained about how it takes a really long time for someone to come to your table, but is it possible that you didn't change the sign on every table that says, "RUN FOREST RUN!" (which means your table is ok) or "STOP FOREST STOP!" which will make the servers stop immediately and ask you if you need anything. Very cool concept. (I had like 3 servers stop because I forgot to switch the sign) I will try it again.... if I got spare money and am in the mood for shrimp. (BTW: they run the movie Forest Gump on constant loop all day, I feel so bad for those who work there)

Love it!!!!!!!! Great food, wonderful atmosphere, very friendly. My family loves the movie Forest Gump, so this was a must to go visit. They have wonderful food and if you get a specialty drink you can keep the light up cup. Definitely go here.

Unfortunately we did not have a good experience. The food was way over priced for basic chain food and bad quality. We spent a lot of money for 4 people to eat and left unhappy. I did contact the manager twice to let them know and they never responded to my concern. Bad customer service! Don't waste your money on this place!

This was our first visit to Bubba Gump but it won't be the last. lts a novel place and since we are Gump fans we enjoyed the atmosphere and the food and drinks. We had 2 apps to start, the Mac & cheese because its my wife's favorite food and the hush pups. These dishes were great!! Kids enjoyed their meals and the entrees were spot on as well. We did the tourist thing and got the souvenir cups after our thirst quenching adult beverages. The staff was friendly and attentive for our party.

  • Chinelle T.

My husband and I went here for lunch recently. As a vegetarian, I did not expect them to have an entree I could eat-I planned on just getting a side dish of fries or veggies. I was pleasantly surprised that they have a mushroom burger w/ red onion, pepper jack cheese, avocado, tomato and spring mix lettuce. It was tasty! We also had the spinach dip appetizer which we enjoyed as well. My husband had the shrimp and grits. It had shrimp, sausage, and ham in it. He said it was excellent. It was not very busy when we got there, so all of our food came out very quickly. Our server Dawn was very friendly! She kept our drink glasses full, and made sure we were happy with our meals. Overall we were very pleased with our experience.

  • Brian A.

Not recommended. My first time visiting a BGSCo, and my last. My family wanted seafood...we waited 15 minutes for someone to take our drink order, then another 10 to place our food order. Food arrived 30 minutes later, only after we ASKED where our food was. Food was mediocre at best for the prices here. Service was quite disappointing. Place wasn't very clean, my oldest daughter used their restroom and said it was beyond filthy. Good luck, I'd look elsewhere if wanting seafood.

    (1)
  • Brian B.

Food selection is good, not great. But there aren't too many other restaurants on the strip that have a menu such as this. The price is higher than the other restaurants. Then on top of that their bill comes with an 18% tip added in. The problem I have with this is being frustrated about getting our waiter throughout the meal. I constantly used Ms. Cheryl as our waitress since our assigned waiter never stopped at our table even when we had the flipped up like they told us "Stop, Forrest, Stop".

    (3)
  • Tammy R.

Fun atmosphere but very long wait. We decided to buy their light up cup they serve their alcohol in just for a souvenir. The food was nothing special. My fiancee liked the coconut shrimp but I just liked answering the questions about the movie that the waitress was asking me through trivia. She was surprised how much I knew about the movie too. I guess not many people can answer all the trivia questions.

If you are a seafood lover, you will definitely love Bubba Gumps! And me?? The only seafood I like is fried shrimp. I had Mama Blue's Southern Charmed Fried Shrimp with French fries and a side salad and 2 glasses of Mama Blue's Hawaiian drink. All was delicious! The servers were very nice and be prepared, they give your tables a little trivia quiz about the movie. It was a very fun and pleasant atmosphere.
