It's a little out of the way from where I live but it's a great place to come in for good, cheap food and good meats. It's hard to find a real butcher shop anymore but I wasn't here for the meat my first, but not last visit. I brought my mom and sis here before they drove back up north and we were greeted quickly and asked if we were here to eat. We were but we all just kind of stared in awestruck wonder at the awesome meat bonanza that was spread out before us, especially in such a relatively small space. Two meat counters, a soda fountain, a small section for grill supplies and a register for all of it. When we did sit down my mom wanted to know about breakfast and our server went to check-it was pretty late but he came back to let us know it she was good to go to order the meat and egg breakfast. My sister and I got steak sandwiches. I got the ribeye on the hoagie while my sister got the steak/cheese sandwich. Our server was quick to recommend to my sister get it with onions, mushrooms and peppers "kinda like a philly steak." I also got my ribeye similarly prepared with the twice baked potato, which he also agreed on. He was very quick and friendly to answer what a Neiman Marcus bar was-their special dessert for the day. The ribeye was grilled-they grill out in a big green egg and their twice baked came in a paper basket and at first didn't realize what I got, it was huge and I looked at the meat counter and there was what looked to be a mashed potato with a single strip of cheese in it-it was a huge potato is what I'm saying. My sis was similarly impressed with her sandwich and it's just a great, fresh simple place to get your carnivore on.

love this place!! Its really 3 businesses in 1. Restaurant: Amazing home cooked food using local produce. Ive only eaten breakfast here but they have a full menu. The breakfast omelets are amazing!! everything is very fresh and made fast. They also have a bunch of pre-made food to go (cold and warm) Butcher shop: Decent selection of meats, mostly beef though. Its such a small shop that they really don't have to room to be full meat market so they specialize in beef. Very knowledgable butchers and very helpful. Green Egg shop: they sale green egg grills and tons of accessories. All in all this place is awesome, the staff is always kind and helpful. i eat here and get meat at least once every time i come back into town.

This place is so trendy without trying to be. They sell and cook local meats, produce, and diary products. Not only did my Cuban sandwich taste superb, it was inexpensive and sourced locally.

We stopped for lunch at this little store/deli. It's plain-Jane, but the food was excellent and the service was cheerful and friendly. Definitely a place we would visit again.

Although my expectations of this place were high... I was left unimpressed. First off, the butcher was unable to answer if any of the beef being sold at their establishment is grass fed beef. This is suspect. My friend and I are eventually seated for lunch after a 15 minute wait. The friendly waitress recommended the lasagna, which I order and my friend has the steak sandwich. The lasagna comes and there is no highlights to it. It is lukewarm, with very little red sauce and very little meat.. which is strange since this is a butcher shop. It seem to have decided to balance the lack of red sauce and meat with an over abundance of ricotta cheese and possibly some sort of white cream sauce.. which didn't replace the red.. there was still some red sauce. Overall confusing to me, and this mixture did not elevate my enjoyment of this dish. My partner in crime mentioned his steak sandwich was sub par as well. Overall, unimpressive. Unfortunately.. I will not be back to see if this was a one time experience or the norm. On the plus side.. if you are looking for delicious grass fed beef in TN, check out "tennessee grass fed" on the internet.. they are LEGIT. END TRANSMISSION

Great ribeye sandwich! The cut was well trimmed of fat grilled on the big green egg and serves on a hoagie roll. The best meal I have eaten since I arrived to TN.

We go to the Chopping Block at least once a month. We usually buy their bacon wrapped filets and cheesy twice baked potatoes. We have tried a few other items and it is always very good. We have eaten here for lunch once, and it was mediocre but as a butcher they are great!

So here's the thing, I am reviewing this as a restaurant because we thought it was a BBQ place but we were pleasantly surprised to see that this is a bonafide butcher's shop. The meat is so very fresh, none of that mystery meat which may or may not have been on the shelf for over a week. I was impressed with the selection of the different cuts of meat as well as the pre-prepared/ marinated meats they offer. On to the lunch menu, I was very unimpressed and disappointed in the pricepoint. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich, thinking "hey it's a butcher shop, so the meat is going to be fresh" Actually it was a microwaved processed chicken patty. Absolutely foul. My husband got the special of the day which was a beef stew, he said it was edible. We also got the twice baked potato to share, as the sandwich did not come as a meal despite the $5 price tag. The potato, again, was edible. Actually about three bites into it I was so grossed out by the amount of cheese fat and sour cream that I decided to skip it. It was like eating baby food coated in grease. Smushy and greasy... if you like that kind of thing... Over all we spent $20 on lunch that sucked. Go here for the fresh meat and cook it yourself but dont expect much off their lunch menu.

The Chopping Block rocks! We started buying our meats from there a couple of years ago. You can taste a huge difference even in stuff like spaghetti. Their meat is so much more flavorful than buying at the grocery store. The staff is always so nice too. I would've expected to pay a lot more...but they're priced great!

Positively one if the most amazing places in Clarksville to eat. This is a combination of a butcher shop and mom and pop eatery that has amazing quality food. All of the staff is outrageously friendly that makes you feel at home EVERYTIME. Their daily blue plate special is worth every penny (as well as all of their other offerings). Their expert butcher will cut meats to order and give amazing suggestions on how to make amazing meals with it. This is a homely restaurant and everyone is welcome as they are. It is not unusual to see people in anything from hunting clothes to business suits. If you are in town and have a hunger for food as good as home, definitely give this place a try.

A butcher shop that is on the smaller side. You can eat in and order off of their menu too. Their food is very good and fresh. Burger and Reuben were awesome. Side broccoli salad nice, twice baked potato is very popular there, and we tried their cherry cobbler - tasty. Great, local place to try!
