This place is pretty great. Don't judge it when you drive up, though. Yes, it looks like a BBQ chain restaurant, but it doesn't taste like one. I had a brisket sandwich and my wife had a turnkey sandwich. We both loved our food and loved the price. PLUS, they had coupons available in one of those coupon books that high school basketball teams sell for fundraisers. Who doesn't love that??? This may be weird, but the variety of sauces available at this place made me love it even more. I have gone to A LOT of BBQ places in Memphis and this is the first one I can remember having white BBQ sauce. So if you're into that thing...there ya go. There are, however, a bunch of other sauces you could attack too. Okay, weird BBQ sauce love paragraph over. In the end, this is a great tasting, non-expensive BBQ option in Memphis. You should give it a try!

The food is great. I'm not sure what complaints are about, portions are great food is delicious everything is fresh cooked, tastes like a home cooked meal. It's juicy, succulent (chicken beef, pork AND turkey) , there are a variety of sides, vinegar slaw, Mayo slaw, etc. Sides all work well to make it taste better, including great beer. Selection is terrific - it's a hometown run operation, and they have a great recipes. One big note, this is at the corner of Appling Road and Route 70, not on Yale Road west of the park as shown on the map. I will put in for a correction

So....yeah. Baby Jacks is cool. But there's a "but". I learned about Baby Jacks at the baseball field one day when they had a food truck out there. The barbeque nachos were so great that I knew I HAD to try to pulled pork sandwich. Seriously, they have some of the best pulled pork I've ever had, and the beef brisket is alwo a winner. And the barbeque sauces are on point, as well. Oh yeah, my son loves the fries. They are perfectly cooked every time. But. Pulled pork deserves to have cole slaw on it. And, they have cole slaw. It's just some kind of vinegar based cole slaw that is clearly an imposter and has probably even been shunned by lesser cole slaws. I got it on the sandwich once and thought "Clearly, this is a mistake." So, the second time I went back I said "PLEASE GIVE ME MAYO SLAW." Just like that. Loud so there would be no confusion. Didn't happen for me the second time, either, so now I just have to assume that the vinegar slaw is all they're working with. So, don't go here expecting to have a pulled pork with creamy cole slaw juice dripping down your fingers, because it's not going to happen for you. You may even wonder "Why'd they just put cabbage on here??" I did try to just eat the cole slaw by itself, but.....just tasted like cabbage. Nothing to see there, guys. Anyway, everything else I've had has been delish, and I'm going to go back time and time again. I'm just going to go to KFC and get some cole slaw first.

My wife and I enjoy our BBQ and have found a great place - Baby Jacks. We like BBQ sandwiches, but we also like BBQ Nachos - Baby Jacks BBQ Nachos are incredible. It's not just the meat - which is great, smokey and flavorful - but the toppings are great too. Sure, not everybody like jalapenos, but for me they are a compliment to the whole experience. Another good factor - drive-thru. Easy to get some good "Vitamin Q" on the way home. The place is easy to spot - it used to be the old Starbucks. If you don't know about them already, drop in and get some good BBQ.

I'll start out with the things that I really liked about this place. The food is great. I had the slider trio because I wanted to try all of their meats. I loved the turkey! The pork and brisket were better than most. I had their baked potato salad which was absolutely delicious. I like that they have different size options for the sides 4oz, 8oz, etc. The decor was super cute and I love that they have a drive thru. The main thing that I didn't like was the service. The girls working seemed really inexperienced and didn't give the greatest customer service. I noticed that yelp had a free banana pudding offer and I asked the girl that brought my food out if I could use it. She acted like she had no idea what it was and said ok I don't care if you use it... But she never brought it out. I went up to the cashier to ask and she didn't know about it either.. She still gave it to me though. They just don't seem to know much about what they're doing. Other than that, the place was really good. I'll go back and maybe the service will be better next time.

Living in Memphis BBQ becomes difficult to rate one place against another. I had the baby jack plate my first time and found it a neat way to sample one of each type of meat they; Pork, Turkey, and Beef. Both the turkey and the pork have a nice pork flavor and are tender. The pork has a moist smokey flavor to it, which is a bit different compared to most smoked pork that tends to by dry. The beef is probably their best tasting meat, and is so tender. They offer both wet and dry ribs both are tender but I lean more towards the Wet Ribs. Most items on the menu can be made with your choice of one of the three meats. They offer many different sides . i found the BBQ beans here had a nice smoke flavor to them, but the consistency was more soupy than I typically like. The Loaded Potato salad is really good. You cant go wrong with the fries here they have been perfectly cooked every time i came. They offer 6 different sauces here ranging in heat and ingredients. The Honey BBQ is made with honey, Sweet is made with brown sugar, Cajun is made with cayenne pepper, and end of the world is made with habanero. Cajun is my favorite! I have been here three times now with my wife once on a weekday around 3 and another time at 12:30 on a Sunday and have not run into any service issues. I enjoy the decor here, as a smaller place it fills up fast however I have not had a problem getting a table for two. Recommendations: I recommend going for the beef here it is probably their best tasting meat. Also the BBQ baked potato is great. They have homemade pickles here, and I suggest trying all the sauces. Stay Away from: The nachos are nothing special generic chips and canned cheese sauce and jalapeno's.

Slow cashier. It's causing a line. I got free banana pudding by checking in with the yelp app. They have a nice selection of sauces, including white sauce for poultry that isn't common (yet) outside of North Alabama. I got a slider combo to try 3 meats at once. The pork is a bit bland as was the turkey. The brisket is good. I didn't get any smoke in any of it. It was nice and tender though. The beans were good but has seasoning that makes me think of ranch style beans. The banana pudding was good. Anywhere else this would probably be a great BBQ place, but in Memphis it is middle of the road. Worth a try but don't go out of your way.

Like a reviewer below, this business needs to work on their staff and their experience level. I called on Thursday, November 20th to order a turkey for Thanksgiving. I wanted to support a local business. The young girl who answered the phone had to put it down multiple times to go talk to someone else. She didn't even know what size turkeys they had or when they would be available to pick up. I was hesitant about using them, but after calling a couple of other places I decided to order from them since they were also near a relative's house who could pick it up. I called back to place the order and the staff member who answered the phone this time also didn't know basic information. I believe it was the same girl as before, but I am not sure. She told me that they would have different sauces available for the turkey and that they had to check with the owner (who wasn't there) about what would be available. She stated someone would call me back Friday or Monday. She again had to put the phone down multiple times to go talk to someone else. It is now Tuesday, November 25th and no one called me back. I called them to check on it, and they didn't even have record of my name or order. The lady who answered the phone tried to give me multiple excuses and rambled about having orders on a bulletin board but they had ordered extras, but it was first come first serve. I told her I had already called them twice and placed an order and at this time, I did not want to try again and risk not having a turkey for Thanksgiving. I called another reputable place in town and placed my order.

Simply the best ribs in town! There is really not much else that needs to be said. If you are looking for a great place for barbecue, look no further than Baby Jacks! Their ribs are smoked to perfection. After you finish a full rack of their ribs, you will fall asleep and dream about having another full rack! This place is that good!

Since my original post it seems the customer service has improved. I typically get someone who is friendly and smiling. The food is consistently good. Will definitely continue to come back.

With "ribs" in the title of the restaurant, you'd think they would be well stocked, but they were out of ribs when we went. I got a sampler of beef, pork, and chicken (they were out of turkey). The beef and pork were juicy and delicious! Chicken was very dry. The baked potato salad was excellent. The mayo slaw just didn't do it for me. My date got half a chicken, which was excruciatingly dry. Sauces were okay. Our server at the counter was excellent, but we won't be going back.

The food is amazing!!! Best mayo slaw, turkey bbq, regular bbq, banana pudding, and homestyle potato salad! Who am I kidding? Everything is delicious! If you want something a little different from Central BBQ or Rendezvous, this is a sweet little place tucked away in Bartlett! You're missing out if you haven't tried them already!

We ate there a few weeks ago. The staff is mainly college/high school students, which is ok, but can be a bit testing. The pulled pork is really good, moist and grown /raised locally ( I asked) -- the potato salad was very good, and they offer two different kinds of coleslaw which is very good. They offer several different bbq sauces, from mild to very spicy. Banana pudding was ok, nothing to write home about. The middle range ones are very good. Pricing is very reasonable. Side portions could be a big bigger, but I would overall recommend this place. Run by local folks as well. We like it better than Rendez-Vous - so go ahead and try it!!! I would recommend the place.

I seriously enjoyed this place. It's only got a small seating area but the staff was fabulous and the facility clean. The BBQ was good, not over spiced or too smoky tasting. I got baked beans and baked potato salad, both if which I recommend. They have Pepsi products (I'm a Coke girl myself, but ya can't have everything). We'll be back!

I like going to this place because of the convenience and good food. I have been three times, and I have received good service each time. I have not varied my order from the full order of ribs because of how delicious they are. The meat literally falls right out off the bones (no cliche intended). The Carolina slaw/vinegar based slaw is a good one to try just because not many places in the area have it. The people are friendly. You have to realize its a new joint and locally owned!

Really yummy. My nephew loved the banana pudding. Nachos and sandwiches are great. They have a large variety of BBQ sauces so it's great for all taste buds.

My husband tried this BBQ restaurant in a failed Starbucks when I was out of town, Apparently our visit was on another bad day here. My order was mysteriously lost. My husband's took over a half hour while subsequent walk ins were served. I have the patience of a gnat. I tried some of my husband's ribs which were way overcooked and dry but eventually caught someone's attention and got my order. The potato salad and beans were mediocre and served in the baby size cups. I won't be back as I prefer my normal haunts downtown and Germantown.

My parents, aunt and I all ordered the pork plate. When the food arrived, we were stunned. The portions were tiny! They serve the side items in little baby cups! To be fair, the pork itself was very good: tasty, moist and tender. But the serving of pork was so tiny compared with other pork plates. Our side items were not good at all. The mayo slaw was watery and flavorless. The "roll" came out of a tin, probably Sunbeam or Bunny Bread. We were very disappointed. There are so many good BBQ restaurants in the Greater Memphis Area. Baby Jacks is not a good value for the money.

I have eaten BBQ all my life, Baby Jack's is fair not the best. The pulled pork is a bit salty. Not the best in Bartlett, that would be Brad's BBQ. The groupon deal was pretty good $16 for 4 beers two dinners and 2 sides. Other than the deal I'm not going back unless forced and I'll try something else. The service was great. The decode was good. This is not my cup of BBQ.

First time here. The staff was great. Food was great. They even gave my son free banana pudding. Over all great place.

BEST BBQ BEEF EVER!!! Its lean and falls apart, there is no where better! BUT the owner runs out of the beef often and one time it was three days before he had it again. The banana pudding is amazing too!

I went by today to try them out for lunch. I got a BBQ Sandwich combo. The meat was really tender and juicy and had just the right amount of smoke. I loved the wide variety of sauces I could pick from and decided to go with the Medium sauce. I also liked that I had the option of mayo or vinegar based slaw for my sandwich. The baked beans were sweet but smokey and really good. I would have to rank them high on my list of favorite restaurant bakes beans. I plan on making a return trip to check out their ribs.

Very nice people. The pork was good and moist, but didn't quite have enough smoke flavor for my liking.. The baked potato salad was excellent and their sauce was ok. I will probably go back in the future. I wish them well..
