I must echo the previous two reviews, though the coconut cake it the one that I found off-the-chart. I happened upon this little bit of bliss by accident while eating at Soul Fish in Mid-Town. Then when I asked about the it at the Germantown location the server clued me in to where they procured their cakes. After calling All American Sweets, I found that Booya's in Collierville also carries their cakes. Both restaurants will sell you a whole cake....I think the one I bought was no more than $35 (maybe less). Either way, this is a Blue Ribbon cake - it simply can't get any better.

Holy freaking Toledo, Memphis. The strawberry cake from All American Sweets is where it is at. Give me a map and I'll show you the damn way! Layer upon layer of cake, strawberry filling and strawberry icing- all fresh ingredients mind you-it is the makings of glorious food ecstasy. I was never a fan of strawberry cake. I would never have ordered it for my dessert of choice, but All American Sweets changed me folks. I, Erica B, am a strawberry cake junkie. JUNKIE. Well, an All American Sweets strawberry cake junkie anyhow. I can't speak to the deliciousness of any others, and frankly have no need to try any others now. They also make coconut, banana, caramel, carrot and red velvet. They have plans of opening bakeries in the Memphis and East Memphis areas, but for now are housed in a warehouse-esque shop in Bartlett. There is no store front, you'll need to call and order. They have plenty of info on their web site and Facebook page along with photos of their cakes. They'll be happy to do special occasions as well- birthdays, weddings, anniversaries and the like. 9" round stock cakes start at $35 bucks- which is nothing once you a) see the size of this thing and b) taste it. Oh for the love of all things baked and frosted, TASTE this thing! Deeeelicious.

I was recently invited out to the All American Sweets bakery out in Bartlett. All American Sweets is a family owned and run bakery (meaning 3 people run the place) that mainly sells commercially. They now also make cakes for special occasions as well, such as wedding cakes. Bill Kloos led me through the behind the scenes aspect of the bakery, which was very impressive. His philosophy boils down to "go big or go home". They have nothing but they best equipment, setting themselves up for a bigger business in the future. Then we got down to the good part, aka trying the cakes. I tasted the Coconut Cake, Banana Nut Cake, and the Strawberry Cake. The Coconut Cake was very coconuty and sweet. Yummy. The Banana Nut Cake tasted like a sweeter version of Banana Nut Bread. It still has the denseness and earthiness to it, which I liked. This is also a great excuse to be able to eat it for breakfast. However, the Strawberry Cake is what really caught my attention. It was awesome. The cake was very light and moist. It tasted like biting into a strawberry. The middle icing layers have actual muddled strawberries in them, so you get that fresh strawberry taste. I am not one to order cakes when going out to eat, but I would definitely order this if I saw it on the menu. I left All American Sweets on a sugar high and with a full belly. I wish I had a list of all the places their cakes are sold, but I do know you can find them at Lucchesi's and Soul Fish Cafe. You can also call and pre-order cakes for yourself.

My parents were in town this weekend, and we celebrated my mom's birthday with a strawberry cake from All American Sweets. Everyone raved about this cake-how it actually tasted like strawberries, how moist it was, and how tender it was. Thanks, Bill, for another great cake! Can't wait to see your retail space!

I attempted to call them several times while only reaching their voice mail and left a detailed message to call me. I never received return phone call so I called Miss Muff'n bakery in Germantown, they answered my first call so I placed my order with them.

I was lucky enough to try all the cakes at the yelp event & was truly blown away. Everything I tried was moist & delicious. The highlight during my taste testing was that strawberry cake. The chef/owner said theres a pound of strawberries in there. It felt quite heavy too. Oh my goodness...I'm salivating right now thinking about it. I'm usually not a fan of fruity cakes, but I am now converted. So light & moist & just full of strawberry goodness. I got to bring home a few slices to my kids & their favorite was the cheesecake & carrot cake. They unfortunately didn't get to try the strawberry cake since i ate it all, but I bet that would've been their favorite. The most unique I tried was the caramel cake. It really did taste like caramel, so good. Some of the best cakes I've ever tried. Definitely the place to go if I ever need a cake.

Let me just start by saying...Delishhhhhh! I ended up coming to All American Sweets for a Yelp event. I have heard great things from other people and was excited to go and work this event with Joelle. When I walked into the bakery I was in heaven with the smell! It was so over powering. I loved it. I could not wait to taste test the cakes!... This was my first Yelp event working with Joelle and it was a great one to start...I got to meet some great yelpers and had a ball. When I got to start taste testing the cakes I was in heaven!!! The first one I tried was the strawberry cake.....and let me tell you it was THE BEST strawberry cake I have ever had in my entire life! It just melted in my mouth. Then I had the caramel cake and that was delicious too! If you are a caramel lover then you would LOVE their caramel cake! The red velvet cake...let me just tell you...moist and perfect. Everyone I tried was delicious. The next time I need a cake for anything, Bill is the man I will go to no doubt about it!

Oh. My. Heaven. What sweetness is this?! I'm the type of girl who loves cake for the icing. Chances are once the icing is licked off, I stop eating the cake...which is why when Bill told me to try the cake without the icing, I was a little dubious. Boy was I wrong. That thing is so moist it doesn't need icing. Red velvet is usually my go to (and his is amazing), but his STRAWBERRY CUPCAKE was the best cupcake I have ever had in my life. And I have quite the sweet tooth. I was literally depressed when it was gone and kept thinking about when I could go back. As I was browsing images of his wedding cakes, I couldn't believe how gorgeous they were. Awesome tasting cake AND beautiful? I know who I'm calling when/if/finally I get married!

I had a variety of AAS cakes at Soul Fish Cafe' in Midtown. Banana, Strawberry, Caramel, and Coconut. Banana was HANDS DOWN the BEST I've ever tasted. Moist cake. Creamy Frosting. Absolutely decadent!
