We particularly enjoy eating Mexican food while traveling and this restaurant was near our motel. It turned out that it was a sister restaurant to the Pelanchos where we enjoyed a good meal earlier in our trip, in Middlesboro, KY. This time we tried a different choice than that meal and were not disappointed. We also enjoyed the fact that there is outside seating. The only reason we're not giving this review 4 stars is that many of the tables on the outside patio remained uncleared while employees visited by the cash register. The person serving us at our table did a fine, attentive job.

I'm a flight attendant, and like too try out local restaurants. I have Been here several times, and really enjoy it. Really good food, for a reasonable price. Queso is awesome!

Consistently good and reasonable prices. When placing a to go order, they will usually give you a pickup time that is about 1/4 the time it will actually take.

Good prices and really big portions, actually too big of portions and I ate too much, which was my own fault. We came with a big group and they seated us fast and the service was very good. Would definitely would go there again.

Terrible. We sent back the chorizo dip and guacamole. The chorizo dip had a pool of grease and fat on it and the guacamole was all wrong. I had tacos carne asada which apparently is build your own taco with almost no toppings. beans are from a can. The waitress was accommodating but had a bad memory. Avoid this place. Better Mexican at Chili's.

It used to be very good but it was bought out by a guy that likes to make the food as CHEAPLY as possible. Canned chicken...frozen vegetables...watered down salsa. I can't really offer an alternative in the area because that same guy has bought up most of the Mexican restaurants.

I was craving inexpensive, unauthentic Mexican food, but this was just bad. The margarita was so syrupy sweet that I couldn't finish it, the cheese dip was lumpy and cold, and the salsa was so frozen in the glass that they use to pour it out of that it would not budge. Also, there was a weird smell in the restaurant...

Meh... The food just wasn't that good. And I had the special. There was nothing WRONG with it, it just wasn't very good.

This place is by no means the best Mexican restaurant you can find in the Maryville/Alcoa area. I saw the owner the whole time I was eating, and I feel bad because I think in the beginning when the restaurant first started, it was probably very good, but now he's lost control of the place and it's just like any other "fast food" place. The food is decent. I got the Enchiladas Suizas, and the only thing I liked about the actual mean (which came with lettuce, a slice of tomato, mexican rice, salsa, and chips) was the actual enchiladas. Those were very good, but everything else, especially the salsa, was just....not good at all. My main complaint is the service. It was terrible. We were there for about an hour, and our waitress came twice. Once to ask us what we wanted to eat, and the 2nd time to give ask us if we were done. She forgot to give us straws and we had to flag down a person to give us some, and it took forever to get a refill on the chips. Overall this place gets 2 stars because they give you a lot of food for a good price, but it's still not worth it to me, and I won't be back.

Pretty good food for a very fair price. Place was well kept and the service was friendly-but it was very typical Mexican food. I'd go back for sure, but it could really become something amazing if they'd downsize their menu, get fresher ingredients and work on presentation.

I NEVER write bad reviews if i don't like a place, I just don't return, but this time it was necessary. Service was the worst I've seen. After an hour and 45 minutes the food finally arrived and once it came, most of it was inedible! The place was clean and the staff was friendly but they didn't know what they were doing. Hopefully this is not a normal occurrence...

My aunt and I split the "Special" dinner, which had a tamale, chile rellenos, enchilada and soft taco. And of course, beans and rice. The chile rellenos and tamales were some of the best that I've ever had. The ground beef in the enchilada was better than usual, having a bit of smoke flavor to it. Everything else was fairly standard for a Mexican restaurant. I'll definitely be back. The prices were reasonable too. The bill was less than twenty dollars, which included a Margarita and diet coke. The service was good too.

This place is very good! I'm originally from New Mexico and have lived in Texas for the last 30 years so I'm leery of Mexican food this far from the border but this place has it figured out! The chicken enchiladas verde were amazing and my husband had the fajitas and thoroughly enjoyed them. The salsa is fresh and amazing! Tons of food at a great price!

One of my go-to Mexican joints when I lived here. Food is consistently good whether you eat in or take out.

I'm not a big fan of Mexican food all the time. But this is my favorite place when I'm in the mood. The food is great every time I go. I have ordered a lot of different things here. My favorite is the enchilada supremas. They are awesome and comes with rice. I always order another dish of the cheese sauce to smother them with. The waiters and waitresses are always super nice and take care of us every time. The prices are really reasonable.

I must admit I was a bit skeptical about eating here, and for good reason too. The last time I ate here I discovered a long curly hair in my rice. This time however I ordered a cheese quesadilla and was very impressed. It was only 4$ and was covered in pico de gallo, guacamole, and sour cream. I was very impressed.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
