We spent two nights at the Wander Inn when we were visiting the Black Hills area. We were referred by a friend in the Chicago area and we were very glad we found the Inn. Ginger was a great host, the yard was immaculate and comfortable. There is a gazebo by the creek with a stove for a nice fire on cool evenings. Our room (the Red Room) was very comfortable and had its own bath area separate from other rooms. Breakfast was very nice. The Inn is about an hour from Crazy Horse and Mount Rushmore and about another 30-40 minutes to Custer State Park and Wind Cave. About 30 minutes to Sturgis and an hour east to the Badlands. We would definitely stay at the Wander Inn again when back in the area.

Full disclosure: Linda and Bert are former coworkers of mine. That being said they are running a great B&B near Deadwood, SD. We found the place right near downtown Spearfish. It is a great location that is close to their little downtown and near the river. When you arrive you'll note that the B&B is actually two buildings. A large Victorian house and a small cottage with attached gazebo. She has many, many rooms! The cottage is a two bedroom with a kitchenette and I believe they call it the Honeymoon cottage. They also have a multi-bed suite in the attic area and in the basement. These would be perfect for families or couples traveling together. Linda a Bert share the main floor along with the main living room and dining room. Lastly there is the second floor, which has individual bedrooms. This is where we stayed. This was a B&B before Linda and Bert bought it so much of the furniture and decor was there... however it is apparent in each of the rooms the many antiques Linda herself has collected over the years. The best part of staying here though were Linda and Bert. I know I had a previous relationship but I saw them interacting with the other guests. Bert was helping out the large group of women (medical transcriptionists on a work retreat) and they both welcomed a couple from Finland while we were there. That night we were told not to eat dessert out because they had homemade apple pie for everyone. The crust was even made by Linda's mom from scratch! It was the perfect end to the evening (we had dinner at Shoot the Bull... see that review)! The next morning was breakfast. With the place being so full they had breakfast in shifts, which was fine. It was nice to mingle with the other guests and have discussions. Linda's niece was also over to help and along with Bert made sure you constantly had something fabulous in front of you. There was a fruit, yogurt, granola parfait, breakfast au gratin potatoes, a breakfast quiche among other things. In the end it was a great time. So good in fact, that my wife and I were very disappointed when we got over to the family reunion and were staying in a below average Days Inn. After seeing how they handled the group of coworkers (which were between 15-20) it was apparent that they could handle a group. Both my wife and I thought about how great it would have been if the reunion had been at Yesterday's Inn. In talking with Linda there were discussions about her hosting events over the holidays so you might inquire about that. They are still learning and figuring out the B&B business but they really love to entertain and have all the different people buzzing about their place. They have many stories about the different guests they have received over the past couple of years. I highly encourage you to plan to stop there for a stay and enjoy Spearfish.

We were traveling and decided to stop by the Spearfish Arby's. This particular restaurant was very clean with very friendly employees. Troy D was beyond exceptional and, to be honest, really made the entire atmosphere and visit one of the best Arby's experience I can recall. Well done and thanks for the picnic table.

Swoon! I wish we spent more time in Spearfish so I could hang out at the Green Bean like a local. The coffee was aromatic and bold; it had great bite, great dark, and great nutty all in one mug. Very good. And the pastries must be made in house. You think you've had a bagel before and then you taste one of their vanilla nut bagels. It wasn't the cream cheese that stole the show - it was truly the bagel. So carby good! There's an outdoor patio and a little play area for the kiddos out on the grass. Bring a book or your lappy and hang out here a bit on their high top tables or plush couches. I could spend some lazy days here for sure.
We stopped in yesterday for breakfast. We loved it so much, we are back today. Quaint atmosphere. Good food and coffee.
Driving through the area. Stopped to have a bite. Didn't expect much, but this place was great. Great coffee, food, service, and the place is very cozy.

Napa valley wine reasonable priced. Ambition menu with fresh salads. Ribeye steak, duck and lamb chop excellent. Wait staff knowledgeable and enthusiastic.
Found this restaurant on Yelp while on vacation and was a little disappointed. I would have given this a better rating if not for two issues. First when we were ready to pay the bill they informed us that the credit card machine was not working we could pay cash or we could give them the credit card information and they would write it down and charge us when it started working. I was not comfortable leaving anyone with my credit card information, thankfully I had enough cash. This should have been shared with all customers when they sat down, credit card machine is down. Second issue there were only three tables with people and the server was more interested in talking with the staff than checking on the tables so we had to wait frequently or get up and find the waitress when something was needed. I ordered a burger and it was excellent. Great bun, juicy burger, and excellent toppings. Excellent burger. I would recommend the burger if you are in the area. I also got the sweet potato chips which are like potato chips, they were chewy and not good at all. I would not recommend them.
For spearfish pretty good..from ny that's not saying too much .. Too much with sauces..service was great but you can't eat service..traveled all the way from Arizona

Awesome place with awesome pizza love the mahalo it's my favorite. We sit outside awesome pizza racks
Passing through town and got carry out. Between all of the local pizza options, I'd be surprised if there was anything better around. Service was friendly and very fast. Facilities are unique for a pizza place and I could see dinning in a nice experience. Ordered "the usual suspects" salad and a "Scarborough Fair" pizza. Clean and fresh quality ingredients throughout. Very tasty. 4 out of 5 stars only because I've had better pizza over the years. Overall, was not disappointed and would love to try more of their different pizzas!
Easily the best pizza in the Black Hills, with friendly staff and a great beer selection. Yet, while the pizza cannot be praised highly enough, I often choose not to eat there for two reasons: 1. Not particularly kid friendly, at least if we're talking about smaller kids eating inside. Tight quarters, dark, etc. Your mileage may vary. 2. The inability to pay via credit card/cheque card is extremely frustrating... yes, they have an ATM inside, but why should I pay an extra $2.50 in ATM fees for the privilege of saving the owner some merchant fees? On several occasions I thought I was a brain surgeon and planned ahead by hitting my bank's ATM on the way... unfortunately, the bill was more than I'd thought and I STILL had to use the ATM. I wish the owner would realize that people would spend MORE money at this excellent restaurant if they didn't have to worry about how much cash they have on hand. Other than this reservation, this is an excellent choice for dinner in Spearfish.

We were FAMISHED! Didn't want any fast food but were in a hurry to get up the canyon and hike are fat butts off. Saw this place while scoping the doughnut shop across the street (which turned out to be closed for good) out and said "oh ya!" Went in and felt right at home. We were pretty hung over and our main man Zach helped guide us through the ordering process! My girl ordered a pretty rad shrimp burrito concoction with curry sauce and I got a buffalo chicken one. As our mouths watered and stomachs growled Zach says "I can make it bigger man". We said HOOK IT UP and he gave me double blue cheese crumbles and extra shrimp for my lady! We added a honey habanero brownie to the order and a couple of sodas (wish we could have done beer, as they had it on tap but we were to hung over)! Bounced out and chowed down as we drive up the canyon.... Been talking bout our food and service ever since! Thanks so much Zach, we will be back for your specialty rice bowl!
Good food and friendly people. It is a lot like Qdoba but spicier. The people there helped us figure out what we wanted and made great suggestions. The decor is simple but nice. We will definitely be going there when we travel through Spearfish. I would recommend the steak fajita borrito.
The freshly made food is fantastic. Having worked there, I may be a little biased, but I still eat there often and it's great. Nick and Erin have done a great job bringing an artistic and creative food choice to a sleepy midwestern town.

Best buffet I've ever had by far. The curry rice noodles are fabulous. The Kung Pow chicken is nice and spicy but not to hot. Service is good too. I don't think you can go wrong here.
Excellent service and lots of food, all of it warm and salty. Just what you'd hope for in a chinese buffet.
I have tried this place a few times, to give it a fair review. It sucks. People around here claimed it to be good - well maybe it is if Arby's is considered good by those who recommended this place. Food is typical buffet slop full of grease and sugar. Food is often lukewarm and often items are unavailable. Bottom line: Spearfish does not do Chinese well.

Great, great Italian food in very classy surroundings. Well worth the stop.
Wow! My friend and I ate here last week and it was hands down some of the best Italian food we have both had in awhile. We had crab cakes as the appetizer then she had the halibut and I had the shrimp with wine sauce. I will definitely be coming back! The waitress was very honest, and I love that. It is a bit pricey but worth it if you are looking for a nice atmosphere that is romantic, quiet, and of course has wonderful food!
This place is outstanding. The lasagna, chicken marsala and pheasant ravioli were all fantastic. Give Roma's a try.
