Iama Critic Rating - Wade Hampton Buffet - 2 Stars 2801 Wade Hampton Boulevard, Taylors, SC Overall: Wow, this place reminds me of the Green Tomato Buffet or the Halton Country Buffet in Greenville. The resemblance is uncanny. Not the building or the ambiance, but the food. All three are "value" buffets, meaning they are all cheap! Actually I believe they all serve food that is simply too cheap. I mean I love a value as much as anyone, but if I want to eat canned and prepackaged food, I will just go the Wal-Mart, pick up a few boxes, and cook it in the comfort of my own home. The Wade Hampton Buffet, AKA the Hampton Buffet, will cost you a staggering (lol) $7.00 and includes all the delightful food your grandma use to serve at thanksgiving, like prepackaged cookies, canned green beans, and that funky sliced turkey and dressing that was actually made in a factory in Toledo, and cooked in that big aluminum tray it was frozen in. Yes I remember my grandma's thanksgiving dinners with fondness! That is "fondness" for leaving and getting back home so I could cook some real turkey and dressing. The Wade Hampton Buffet buffet is actually surrounded by numerous shuttered restaurants. And yet the Wade Hampton Buffet like the other two horrid buffets, live on, and even have dedicated customers. But the only reason I can imagine why, is because it is extremely cheap and unlimited food for those who love to eat but hate actually spending their money.
