This restaurant has the best tamale I have ever eaten in my entire life. The shrimp cocktail was out of this world. It's a little unassuming place but you can tell everything is homemade. The service was outstanding. The refried beans were to die for.
Great find for authentic Mexican food. If you are driving on 95, exit to downtown and you will be amazed at the homemade healthy choices and friendly owner/staff. Go past the chain restaurants to find a real gem. You will love it.
Who knew that the best Mexican restaurant could be found in the little town of Ridgeland, SC? Found totally by chance driving from SC back to FL, just off 95. I had the fried tacos (taquitos) and my husband had the chicken enchiladas. Both were great! Everything was authentic & homemade. I wish they would open up one in South Florida cuz I would be a regular customer of theirs. As we were leaving we were introduced to the family who came out from the kitchen to meet us. If you are ever in the area, I would highly recommend you stop in to eat there & be sure to bring your appetite!

This place was outstanding! The customer service was excellent and the food was incredible. We had the lobster pot for two-two rolls, chips, a side and soda. The cost is 36.00, after all it's lobster. They provided us a sample of the Friday lobster mac..... We have never visited Maine but from all I have seen this place is really close.
We discovered this place last year when we were told about it by a local. The lobster rolls (their signature dish) are excellent. Overstuffed rolls the size of a hotdog bun. The pickles are so good if I was a local I would be buying jars of them. The coleslaw was good as were the lemon pepper fries.
WHY don't we have one of these in Atlanta?? This place was so good and satisfying! My sister and brother-in-law put us on to this spot and the whole family went during the Christmas break. Service is awesome - Rachel is a sweetheart. Menu is pretty simple and Rachel mentioned that the lobster mac-n-cheese will be an everyday staple starting Jan 2. Rolls in 3 sizes are available along with a few salads, sides and other sandwiches. Specials like the macaroni and cheese and lobster pizza are sometimes available as well. My sister and I split the Mermaid - 1/2lb of meat on two rolls. Truth be told, I could've had the entire thing to myself. We all admitted that. So much buttery, delicious lobster on a nicely toasted and equally buttery roll. Seems small when you get it but it was packed with lobster. You can get your roll cold or hot - I had it hot, Connecticut style. Each roll comes with a tiny cup of pineapple cole slaw, potato salad or a pickle as well as chips and a drink. You can sub fries for the chips, which we did ($2.50) and were very pleased. They have a lemon pepper seasoning that was yummy. The place wasn't too busy when we went but they have sold out in the past. Advice - make a quick call or check their FB page before going if you are making a special trip. Especially around holidays. They are still fairly new and I'm sure with time, the demand will get crazier. This will become another place I HAVE to get to when we venture to the Savannah/Hilton/Beaufort area. They have their lobster flown down from Maine every other day. Fresh and delicious. I appreciate the dedication to quality. I believe they are opening a 2nd location in Destin, FL soon. Again, COME TO ATLANTA! How can we make this happen? Tamera Loves Lobster Rolls.

What a gem!!! My family and I were ready for lunch after driving for 5 hours. This one had great reviews, and it's right off the highway. The family running it is so sweet and hard working. My boys wanted to download a movie on their iPad for the remainder of our drive, and with the free (strong) wifi that was made possible. I like to base my entire experience of a Mexican restaurant on the quality of the refried beans--- and these are quite possibly the best I've ever had!! The whole meal was delicious. We got out of there spending less then we would have at a fast food restaurant! With fresh ingredients.
Clean place, good food, good people. We were a bit worried cause its in the middle of nowhere, but it was awesome and good price. Recommend it for sure! We ate huevos rancheros and huevos con chorizo.
We stopped here for lunch on our way to Florida. This is a new location replacing the restaurant listed below, just a 100 yards or so down the street. We had the chicken burrito lunch plate and the chicken fajitas. Lunch was moderately priced and tasty. Our server was attentive and nice. The chips and salsa were tasty but the guacamole was disappointing with no chunks of fresh avocado. There are not many restaurants along this section of 95 and we wouldn't hesitate to stop for lunch if we find ourselves in the area again.

Food is amazing. We are BBQ lovers and thought this pork was top notch. Hickory smoked and mustard sauced pork were tasty. We also enjoyed the collard greens, green beans, hush puppies, Mac and cheese, and fried chicken. Banana pudding was amazing. All served by a friendly staff. Building exterior is unassuming but don't let that fool you. Bathrooms were spotless and service was excellent. Will be back next time we pass through.
What can I say but, damn, that's BBQ at its finest! We did a small road trip from Edisto, SC just to eat here. I've had BBQ all over the country, but theirs just shines above the rest. The ribs were perfect with a mustard based sweet sauce. UNBELIEVABLE! The pulled pork needed nothing, just eat. Each side was perfect in taste and balance and the banana pudding was perfection. We will make the drive again. Only wish they were open more. They are #5 on the SC BBQ trail, but they should be #1!
Don't let the generic name scare you. This is a solid place to eat after a long day of interstate driving. They are only open Thursday through Friday and apparently close at 9 p.m. We came in as they were shutting down but they were nice enough to accommodate the travelers. The food was really great, specifically the mac and cheese and pulled pork. We would have appreciated some labels on all the buffet options, not being from the South and all. The downside was the lack of direction. Do we seat ourselves? Do we have menu options or only a buffet? When do you close? Drink included always? If we were locals, we'd know, but we aren't. Overall, they were friendly and we left to continue our journey full of tasty BBQ!

Great pizza, I lived across the highway from Sunset and used to go there all the time. Typical pizzaria inside, but just great pizza.
First of all, this is a pizzeria that's attached to a bar. That means you get 2 menus when you come in and you can order from both. One menu will mostly be pizzas and Italian food, the other menu will be sandwiches and other American food. I have to say that their version of Outback's "blooming onion" is superior to the original. The sauce is better and it tastes less greasy that Outback's. My favorite things to get are the cheesy fries, the blooming onion copycat, and any pizza. However, lately, I've enjoyed creating my pizza slice with spinach, chicken and feta. I think I've tried their club sandwich before and it wasn't really too memorable. Definitely go for the pizza, which you can get regular or thin crust. Since part of it is a bar, there is smoking on one side (left) and no smoking on the other (right). The pizzeria side (right) is kid friendly, as I've seen many families come and eat here with their young ones. There's also a patio area for people to eat outside when it's a nice day/night out. It's a great place to get a pizza or just sit at the bar and relax and watch tv. They have a great selection of shooters and cocktails too. I've included a picture. So yummy. The pizza slices are huge, like the size of 2 normal slices. And I know on Fridays, there is even live music, probably the whole weekend too. It's a great place to go if you are heading home to Bluffton from Beaufort, stop by and grab a pizza, the family will love it and you.
The pizza and wings are great here! This is a place I highly recommend for an easy dinner. Most of the time they say it will take around forty-five minutes to an hour for the delivery, but in all reality it only takes twenty-five minutes to an hour.

for $7.16 this a hidden gem! stop of 95 and fill those bellies!
This was a great stop. $10 for an all you can eat BBQ buffet. The pulled pork was great, as were the beans and fried chicken. Several types of BBQ sauce are available, and a variety of sides, fixins and desserts. A little off the highway, but worth the trip and definitely better than the fast food alternative. Hit up Duke's, you'll be glad you did!
Went in for a late lunch today. Almost didn't stop because the hours on the sign need to be updated, but boy was I glad we did. The buffet was loaded with southern vegetable dishes and salads. The meats were pulled pork, of course, fried chicken and hash. They have ribs after 5:00. The pork had plenty of outside brown and was very tasty, although light on the smoke. The hash was a little on the sweet side for me, but a shot of Texas Pete fixed it right up. The fried chicken was great. The vegetables were all good. The lady behind the buffet was friendly as could be. The place was clean and unpretentious. We stuffed ourselves silly and waddled out happy.

Very good and affordable food. Chilli rellino outstanding.
My husband and I ordered food to go last night on our way to Florida and it was superb! We had the Pollo Azado and Chicken Quesadillas... The absolute best we've had! Although we didn't order anything from the bar, we noticed that there was quite a variety of choices. We will definitely stop here again while traveling on I-95!
Great stop. Fresh real food. Priced very reasonably. Service was fast and friendly. great meal. All happy now.

Missed the first turn and ended up traveling a gravel, but scenic, back route! Friendly staff, but not effusive. Fried chicken was really home made quality. Collards well seasoned, good gravy and rice, tasty coconut cream pie but I detected the chemical after taste of an ingredient that was perhaps artificial--maybe a Coolwhip sort of product. Definitely worth stop if you're in the area!
we stopped here for brunch one sunday during a road trip. Just off the highway, its set back off the main road (don't rely on gps - it gets confused) in a little cove with trees. The back porch overlooks a little pond and there's a small nature trail if you care for short walk. I brought my dog, and they let us in a side door to the porch. they even brought a little bowl of water out without my haivng to ask. Brunch is strictly buffet ($12 each, including drinks!), and more lunch than breakfast at that. Real southern staples done right - amazing fried chicken, okra and tomatoes, smokey collards, etc. There was a guy doing made-to order omlettes and a round table piled with the BEST pies. my mum developed a crush on the coconut cream and I had to be dragged away from the apple crumble Next time I end up passing Jasper, this will be a must-stop
Oh my Here for breakfast Biscuit and gravy. Cold Grits lumpy cold even orange juice didn't taste good did have nice view

It was Pizza Hut. Nothing special, nothing bad, nothing to write home about and nothing really note worthy. I am amused however by the "pretzel crust" that is very obviously just their normal crust brushed with butter and sprinkled with salt. The server was nice though.
