This place was outstanding! The customer service was excellent and the food was incredible. We had the lobster pot for two-two rolls, chips, a side and soda. The cost is 36.00, after all it's lobster. They provided us a sample of the Friday lobster mac..... We have never visited Maine but from all I have seen this place is really close.

We discovered this place last year when we were told about it by a local. The lobster rolls (their signature dish) are excellent. Overstuffed rolls the size of a hotdog bun. The pickles are so good if I was a local I would be buying jars of them. The coleslaw was good as were the lemon pepper fries.

WHY don't we have one of these in Atlanta?? This place was so good and satisfying! My sister and brother-in-law put us on to this spot and the whole family went during the Christmas break. Service is awesome - Rachel is a sweetheart. Menu is pretty simple and Rachel mentioned that the lobster mac-n-cheese will be an everyday staple starting Jan 2. Rolls in 3 sizes are available along with a few salads, sides and other sandwiches. Specials like the macaroni and cheese and lobster pizza are sometimes available as well. My sister and I split the Mermaid - 1/2lb of meat on two rolls. Truth be told, I could've had the entire thing to myself. We all admitted that. So much buttery, delicious lobster on a nicely toasted and equally buttery roll. Seems small when you get it but it was packed with lobster. You can get your roll cold or hot - I had it hot, Connecticut style. Each roll comes with a tiny cup of pineapple cole slaw, potato salad or a pickle as well as chips and a drink. You can sub fries for the chips, which we did ($2.50) and were very pleased. They have a lemon pepper seasoning that was yummy. The place wasn't too busy when we went but they have sold out in the past. Advice - make a quick call or check their FB page before going if you are making a special trip. Especially around holidays. They are still fairly new and I'm sure with time, the demand will get crazier. This will become another place I HAVE to get to when we venture to the Savannah/Hilton/Beaufort area. They have their lobster flown down from Maine every other day. Fresh and delicious. I appreciate the dedication to quality. I believe they are opening a 2nd location in Destin, FL soon. Again, COME TO ATLANTA! How can we make this happen? Tamera Loves Lobster Rolls.

This is as close to Maine that you're going to get in the low country. I love lobster...seriously...so when I stumbled upon this place, I just had to go in & check them out. The employees are friendly, the place is kept clean, and your order is up and ready in a jiffy. I had "The Joe" w/a side and a drink...I chose chips because I'm not big on cole slaw or any fruit/potato salads...but I heard the pineapple coleslaw is to die for. The prices...are well..pricey...I mean he's having the lobster shipped from up north so yeah...it's worth it..and it's a short drive from Hilton Head! Next time I go I'm trying the She Crab & Lobster Bisque~

Very small, nice restaurant. I got the lobster roll and it was delicious. They are very accomidating as well. I got there right at closing and they stayed open for me. I highly recommend.

This is a fantastic little gem. Fresh claw meat sandwiches and they definitely don't dilute their lobster into a lobster salad. They let the lobster speak for itself. LOVE.

Holy lobster! Give it a try! Great people, wonderful menu. We had the lobster grilled cheese and the lime lobster tacos. So tasty! The lettuce bowl was a little disappointing. Maybe if we added lobster it would have been lovely. We will return again and again.

From the outside, the place doesn't look like much, but the interior is quaint and cute with it's nautical decor. Their kitchen area is partly visible, especially if you're sitting on the counter. It was clean all around. The staff were friendly and provided great service. I asked for a cup of ice, which they didn't have, so a girl went next door and got some. Their Philly cheesesteak the best one I've ever had (and I've had it in Philly). It was big. A delicious monster sandwich. I must've looked like a wild animal the way I tore into it, but I didn't care because it was that good. They also have tasty, crunchy, and fresh pickles.

Saw Joes on here as we were traveling down 95. It was a great little stop in. Food was phenomenal, service was great, and did I mention that the food was phenomenal? My wife had the Lobster Grilled cheese and it was amazing!! I had the 1/2 LB Reuben and it was one of the best I've ever had!! Definitely coming back!!

OMG... You can't get lobster this fresh anywhere else I SC. From the outside, the location doesn't look like a place I would normally go into. I relied on the reviews. From the inside, super clean. Awesome service. The lobster rolls?? The BOMB!!

Everything about this place is spot on. Lobster rolls aren't meant to complicated, but you have to execute the important details. Freshly grilled split top roll? Check Quality lobster meat? Check. They only use knuckle and claw meat Light mayo and clarified butter? Check Guys behind the counter preparing our food were extremely courteous and proud of their product, as they should be. Anyone who complains about price here doesn't know their ass from their elbow. $17 for a quarter pound lobster roll with a side and a drink? Nothing to complain about. We will stop here every time we go to and from Hilton Head

LOVE this place! We went based on all the great reviews and were super happy. Great service and sincere friendliness from everyone we encountered. And the food...lobster rolls were so good that we couldn't resist sharing a lobster grilled cheese afterwards. If they had dessert, we would've pigged out on that, too! I only wished that the lobster wasn't cold, but the warm (and awesome) bun made up for it. Great deal: $35 got 2 rolls packed with lobster, 2 bags of chips, 2 sides, & 2 drinks plus their house made pickles (which I didn't love because they're a little sweet).

This place was da-bomb! We ended up having the Caesar salad with lobster but the rolls looked amazing. Very unassuming but man - the lobster is fresh and the service friendly.

Customer Service goes a long way. But with an attitude like the man behind the counter. He lacks in many ways. Clam Chowder was right out of the can, @$4.00. The 5oz seriously lacked seasoning. The Jr Roll lacked a little love as well. Please prepay before they lose their mind. You'll hear about it at least 3 times. Personally, I'd request the Lobster meat to be blanched on the grill for about 30 seconds with LOVE!

Delicious lobster rolls!! The menu is limited, but that's ok! Very basic decor....you are there for the food, not the atmosphere!

Lucky enough to be at River Dog Brewery a few weeks ago to begin with, Then I find out these guys are here with my favorite item to eat on this planet. After a couple of pints to build my appetite I feasted on a toasted butter lobster roll. I've been to Maine and have yet to find any good ones until I found Joe Loves Lobster. Go get one !

I don't know about the rave reviews above for lobster mac n cheese. They acted like they'd never had it...ever. The lobster roll can be served in two varieties, neither was great. Lobster was tasteless and rubbery. Not impressed. Establishment was clean, workers were friendly but restroom had no soap.

We noticed this place on a prior trip while surfing yelp. It had such good reviews we had to try it. The lobster rolls were very good. Neither of us thought to order Connecticut style so the rolls were pleasantly dressed with a light mayo & butter sauce. The lobster was excellent and in large chunks. The roll was nicely grilled. I had potato salad as my side and found it to be fresh, nicely seasoned, with a great homemade flavor. My husband tried the pineapple slaw which was fine but we both preferred the potato salad. We also tried the clam chowder which had a great flavor but was not quite as thick as I prefer. The owner was in and he and the staff were all very solicitous of the customers. It was clear to the client base is repeat business as the owner knew pretty much everyone but us. We will definitely stop in again.

Wow great big fat lobster rolls yummy! We came for lunch and both of us got Joes original ME style-thanks to previous posts we brought ourselves a beer to enjoy them with. We will be back - gotta try the other stuff on the menu!

This is one of the best kept secrets on the east coast. No frills ambiance but the food is incredibly delicious. They fly their lobster in from Maine, fresh; not frozen. Their Joe Loves lobster roll is 5 1/2 ounces of lobster, 1/2 oz. drawn butter on a hotdog roll and you will be back over and over again to enjoy this incredible fare. You get one side, a bag of chips and a can of soda (no ice or glass) but you can bring them, along with your own beer, wine or mixed drinks. Prices are reasonable and it is a great meal. Not a lobster fan? Philly cheese steaks with Amoroso rolls from Philly delivered (and the owner grew up in the Philadelphia area). So if they screw up a cheese steak "the guys with the bent noses" would have to pay them a visit. Lobster Mac and Cheese, She Crab Soup, Rubens and Lobster Rubens, etc., great for late lunch or dinner. Try it, you'll love it!

Excellent service! Tried a little of everything. The Lobster mac n cheese was great. Lobster roll was deliscious, they don't over power the lobster with too much (mayo, seasonings) very simple buttery lobster goodness. Lobster tacos were also great very simple not overdone.

My family has a vacation home not far from Joe Loves Lobster. We went Saturday and boy was it great. My Mother and I both got the Joe Loves, which had a ton of lobster on it. We each had two claws plus in our rolls. You get a drink, chips, and choice of tropical coleslaw or pickles. Slaw is like your mama's plus some mango or some other fruit. My wife and father each got the 1/2 pound cheese steak. The cheese steak is one of the best I've had in the south. My favorite part is that Joe Loves Lobster is BYOB. There is a gas station right next to it where you can buy singles, but I'd suggest stopping by River Dog Brewery and picking up a growler of the Kolsh or Red IPA to go with your Lobster. Adam love Joe Loves Lobster Rolls!

Piles of lobster on the lobster rolls! Friendly staff, clean, tidy restaurant. Remember to order at the register & pick up your drink & utensils. Great find, not far off of route 278. Definitely will be back!

I had ANOTHER fabulous meal at Joe's place. I loved it enough to bring my neighbor for lunch and my in-laws for dinner. Hands down, this place is phenomenal. If you are a lobster lover, look no farther. Don't be fooled by the restaurant's casual environment, the food is top notch. This has got to be one of the greatest restaurants in South Carolina. Bring your friends, kids, family!

Well, let me say I was disappointed after all the positive reviews I read. Now the food was OK, but really!! My wife and I each had a medium lobster roll, which came with a small bag of chips and a coke. We also had the clam chowder. The clam chowder came in a small styrofoam cup with a plastic spoon. The lobster rolls came in a plastic basket. We had to get our own chips and pop. The clam chowder was hot and good. The lobster was good, but cold. The roll was toasted and buttered. The chips were chips. The pop was pop. No table service. Small diner, no ambiance. But the kicker, this cost us $42.00.

Hole in the wall, great food, awesome service. In a small town and perfect place to stop for a quick bite to eat. Should definitely give it a shot. Price point is 10-$15+ depending on what you get. Fresh lobster and they don't add s bunch of sauce.

Food was fast, and was suprisingly delicious. Only 4 star cause I wish the "roll" was bigger to hold all that lobster you get. I did order the large and boy did I get a huge serving of lobster! The lobster tacos were also good but wish they had as much lobster as the roll. I would definitely recommend the roll instead if you are used to tacos from SoCal. Overall, would come back again. Had games for my kids to play with while we waited which was nice.

Delicious! In a random location off the highway but fine once you get in. Amazing lobster roll and super friendly staff. We will be back!!

Awesome. Finally satisfied my lobster craving. Fresh and good. Since I can't up to Maine, this will derivatives be my stop when I need a fix.

I had the philly steak (I'm not a lobster lover) and my wife had the Joe ( the large lobster roll), they were both great! The lobster is flown in every other day, ours had just been picked up at the airport today and was living large in the ocean the day before. This will be a stop for us whenever we are passing by on I95 from now on. It's about 10 minutes from the interstate but worth the drive.

My husband and I decied to eat here after reading the other reviews on YELP. I had the Joe Loves Jr, with the seasoned fries (seasoned in lemon pepper and parmesan) and the pineapple coleslaw. My husband had the same thing only the Joe's Original (same sandwich only more of it). Everything was delicious. The pictures of the "joint" were accurate. The restaurant and restrooms were very clean. We found the staff there to be very friendly and engaging. We also topped the dinner off with the Chocolate Ganache cake which was magnificient and a very large slice was $3.75. Our total dinner came to $43 including a tip. That's two adults who had a lot of lobster and chocolate cake for $43. We will definitely eat here again, and we recommend it to locals OR hungry travelers. Clicking on the "Get Directions" link DID NOT get us to the restaurant. Even our GPS didn't get us there. It is right off I-95 Exit 8 on 278 E. CALL THEM to get directions. They'd LOVE to get you to Joe's.

Wow if you like Maine lobster don't miss this spot. Piles of lobster in a roll! The bisque is good too. I fed family of 7 for less than $100 .. Great family atmosphere and just plain easy to enjoy.

As the name suggests, great lobster roll! Located in what looks like once was a small diner, Joe said he recently moved in there, he had been serving out of his cart prior. The lobster roll was truly awesome, very simple, yet awesome. Great quality. Don't come here expecting a fancy dining scene/aesthetics. There are no waiters/waitresses, just plop down at a table or the counter and it's small enough that Joe will take your order from wherever you are sitting. Each order comes w/ a bag of chips and a canned drink or bottle of water. I also had the she-crab soup which was solid, and i took a bite out of my wife's blackened grouper (fresh) sandwich and that was great too. Came back a couple days later to try the lobster bisque which was also aces. I can't imagine you'll find better anywhere in the area.

As a frequent traveler, I'm always on the lookout for a great local establishment. The ratings were so good for this place that I went out of my way to stop by. So worth it! Loved it!!! Clearly a local favorite. Delicious!

Best lobster roll I ever had! You have to try it! And it's good for you. I also love the fact that the mobile car travels around the Lowcountry. So finding Joe's lobster cart is very easy. Follow Joe on Facebook you'll know where he is every day! The best of the best!

Love this place! I have to admit I was a bit skeptical when I pulled into the parking lot. As soon as I walked in, I knew I made a great choice! The staff was extremely friendly and the lobster rolls were even better!! I was also pleasantly shocked at the portions of meat. I'm not from the area, but I pass through frequently and after today...I will definitely take a detour to this place every chance I get.
